“Watson, get my fancy hat. Were going to solve a mystery.” You yell as you burst through your roommates door.
You by chance, are the amazing Sherclop Pones, and the Watson you were speaking of is your sidekick, or “Partner” as he likes to be called.
“Ugh, Digit go back to sleep. Its 6 AM, Ponies are trying to sleep.”
On second thought, you were not the Amazing Sherclop Pones, and you most definitely did not have a fancy hat.
You're Digit, a white unicorn stallion with a knack for solving mystery.
You back out of your frustrated roommates quarters and close the door with your magic.
“Drat, I really thought it would work this time.” you said to yourself as you walked down the stairs to the loft floor of your apartment.
You look around, damn you’ve made a mess of the place.
It was around a 25 foot by 25 foot loft floor, nothing too luxurious, but it would suit well....for now.
There was a wall separating the kitchen from the Dining room, and the living room branched off directly from the dining room.
There were liquor bottles strewn about, along with dirty plates and silverware. You grunt as you check most of the liquor bottles for anything that may be lingering at the bottom of the bottle. One of the bottles (Particularly the bottle imported from the griffon colonies) still had a little bit of liquor on the bottom.
So you lift the bottle with your magic, and attempt to shake the bottle without success. You grunt as you lift the bottle to your mouth with your magic and attempt to suck the succulent liquids out of the bottle.
“You really do have a drinking problem.” You hear Thunderlane say from behind you as you proceed set the bottle down on the table.
“I don’t have a problem, I can stop whenever the buck I want.” you say as you furrow your brow and look around again. You look over to Thunderlane who is now sitting on the sofa and reading a newspaper. “Could you maybe clean up while im at work today?” You ask him with a smile. “At work?” he asks you skeptically. you give him a deadpanned look “Im not COMPLETELY useless, I mean I can get a job every once in a while.” You say as you walk to the front door, avoiding the broken glass on the floor as you do.
Man you really have to clean this place up.
The dark gray Pegasus looks at you skeptically once more, then give you an offended look to him in return.
“Digit, im not going to clean this mess up.” He says as he throws his hooves in the air in protest.
“Why the hay not?” you yell at him. “Because you're the one who made this mess in the first place.” He says pointing a hoof at you.
Damn, he has you there. Quick, change the subject!
“You know I have my first case as an official detective today.” you say to him with a smug look. “A 'Consulting Detective' is not a real detective, Digit.” Thunderlane says to you with a frown.
Thunderlane looks at you once more and says “Get some REAL food while your out working wont you?” He says with a slight bit of sarcasm in his voice.
You grab your bag with your magic, throw it over your shoulder and storm out the front door, refusing to partake in this conversation anymore.
*** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ***
“Not a real detective....ill show him” You mutter to yourself as you walk down the streets of Ponyville. You actually didn’t have a job today, you just needed an excuse to get out for the day.
You stop in place to ponder how you can be a detective in this time, and things you can detect.
A blood curling scream suddenly interrupts your deep thinking “This is definitely something I can detect” You say to yourself as you look in the direction of the scream and start toward it.
You arrive at where you thought you heard the scream come from, but this is just a regular field.
There’s noth-
A heavy crunching stops you in your tracks, its not external so it means your stepping on something.
Please don’t be a corpse please don’t be a corpse.
You look down to see that your stepping on what looks to be someponies lower intestine.
Eww.
You step back from the organs and look at the surrounding area, and wonder why the heck somepony would leave their lower intestines just lying around.
All kidding aside, you cut down a 100 foot radius of tall grass that is around you with your magic, just to make sure you didn't miss anything.
But that's the thing, there was no body, only blood.
There looks like there was a struggle, telling by the hoof amount of hoof prints there were, I would say there are three and.....three fourths of a pony here?
"That is quite strange, there are only three hoof prints on one of the trails." You mutter to yourself in confusion.
But then you notice something that you noticed before but was immediately distracted from due to your crime solving.
Lots and lots of blood. Which at the sight of, makes you extremely uneasy. You hate blood, you didn't think about working with murders when you became a detective; only thieves and maybe some kidnappings.
You step back very, very slowly as you feel your stomach churning whenever you even catch a glance at the gruesome scene before you.
You turn around and high tail it back toward your apartment, you need to tell Thunderlane about your latest discovery. As you ran to your base of operations, you thought to yourself
“I was the only one who heard that scream. And i'm the only person who can catch the ponies responsible.” You grow a look of determination in your eyes, this was the case you were looking forward to. It was the career making case that every detective has.
You arrive at your apartment and burst through the door, effectively scaring Thunderlane enough to make him accidentally throw his cereal bowl in the air in surprise.
“Watson, I believe we have a case!” you yell as you look at him with a smile of determination.
