Ch. 1: Do we really have to go?
It was a bright morning in Pexas Equestria, and the Keinweiser family was just finishing final preparations for their trip to Ponyville. For you see, the family had come upon hard times, and needed to find someplace to move, somewhere much more prosperous. And Mr. Bruce Keinweiser had gone to look for a new town. His journey didn't take long, for he came back with a grin on his face, something the family had not seen him do in awhile. And for Bruce to actually smile, that was one thing to behold. Bruce Keinweiser was a somewhat young earth colt in his mid-thirties and was married to Ms. Katherine Keinweiser, a unicorn, also in her mid-thirties. Bruce wore an aged cowboy hat, while Katherine wore a wide brimmed hat since she worked in the field on their farm, since they were in the country and all. They also had one son, which they named Timothy Keinweiser, also a unicorn, aged 9. Timothy didn't wear much more than a dusty old gardener hat.
But anyways, enough of explaining, back to the story. The Keinweisers were just about ready to move to Ponyville when Timothy started getting sad.
"Dad, do we really have to go?" spoke out young Timothy.
His dad looked softly at his son and replied:
"I'mma 'fraid so son. Nowhere else we can be out here."
Timothy opened his mouth to speak, but there was no reason in arguing, so he just nodded his head and muttered a "Yes Sir" and trotted along to the wagon where his Mother was already in. He cuddled next to her in the front part of the wagon and left enough room for his dead to get in and move on in life to a new beginning. Timothy's mother looked down on her saddened son and comforted him with her soft voice:
"Timothy, it'll be okay. I bet you'll make tons of new friends in Ponyville. It'll be a fresh start for all of us." spoke Katherine
"But ma', what will the other kids say about me?" spoke Timothy, as his father started the wagon.
His mother looked at him with loving eyes and said:
"Don't worry, I've heard great things about Ponyville. You'll be fine. And if things do get bad for ya', then Mommy and Daddy will be right here."
A smiled rose across his face as he gushed a small "Thanks mom." and cuddled up to his mom. His father looked over to his right where Katherine and Timothy were, and smiled.
"Warms mah' heart seein' that."
It was a long journey to Ponyville but finally the Keinweiser family made it to Ponyville, and started to cross the bridge and into the entrance into what was sure to be a great new beginning. The wagon finally came into the town and Timothy awoke with a soft nudge from his mother and gazed out into the streets of Ponyville. He saw all sorts of things. Houses, carts of supplies being taken to other parts of town, people smiling, tents of all sorts of stuff to buy, a huge purple building of what seemed to be a boutique, a colorful looking cupcake shop, and a giant tree that resembled a house.
"This really looks like a place of real joy. I feel so...happy here, I don't know how to explain it." spoke young Timothy, a little grin coming on his face.
Bruce looked back at his son and smiled as well:
"I'm glad ya' like son. And look, there's also a school house for you ter' go and learn, and make other friends."
Timothy lost him when he heard the word "School". His heart sank a little when they passed by Ponyville Schoolhouse. Katherine looked happy to see that they could send their son to school to not only learn, but make friends.
She also chimed in:
"Oh goodie! Now Timothy can meet new kids that are his age!"
Timothy's eyes dilated when he heard those, in his opinion, terrible words.
"NOOOO!"
Finally, the Keinweiser family arrived at their new home in Ponyville. After they got off the wagon and unloaded their stuff into their house, Bruce went back out and payed the two mules that pulled their wagon to here and thanked them for their time. And after that business was over, Bruce head back to the Keinweiser residence and got to the front porch when he suddenly felt something, or someone was behind him. He turned around to see a bright pink young mare with three party balloons as her cutie mark. She also had a huge, bright smile on her face.
"Hi there! My name's Pinkie Pie! Are you guys new here?" she said in a high, girly voice.
Bruce stood there for a moment and thought about it, and then decided the girl meant no harm.
"Why yes, we just now moved here in Ponyville. Oh! Where are my manners, I am Bruce Keinweiser, and my wife over there is Katherine, and behind her is my son Timothy."
Pinkie looked over with a smile at Katherine and waved. Katherine produced a grin of her own and a small wave. Then she turned to Timothy and waved again:
"Hi there fella! What's your name?"
"T-Timothy.." he muttered.
"Well good to meet ya! As you've already heard, I'm Pinkie; but I've gotta run! Bye!" and with that, trotted off back to SugarCube Corner.
Bruce nodded his head and looked back at Katherine and Timothy:
"Great to see that there are still some good people here in this world."
"Timothy! Time to get up! It's time for your first day of school, honey!" called down Katherine Keinweiser to her son, Timothy.
He arose slowly from his bed, knowing he had to go to the only place he never wanted to venture: School. He yawned, and then stretched, and then got out of bed, and trotted down to the kitchen sleepily. His father looked up from the kitchen table and gave a warm smile toward his son.
"Mornin' Timothy! How'd ya sleep?"
Timothy looked up at his dad and said:
"Great...until I realized I had to go to school today."
"Oh! You'll do fine; and I bet you'll make your first new friend today at the ol' SchoolHouse, I guarantee it." he said with a wink.
"Sure, but what time do I have to go?"
Katherine poked her head out from the kitchen and looked up at the clock on the wall behind Timothy:
"In a minute, but first I want ya' to eat some breakfast before you go to school."
And then all of a sudden, Katherine and Bruce saw their young boy smile for the first time that day.
"Are you sure I have to go, ma?" said a hesitant Timothy.
"Yes, sweetie, every foal has to go to school sooner or later."
"Okaay..." groaned our young friend as he slowly trotted over to the entrance of the schoolhouse. And right before he went through the door, his mom gave him a goodbye wave and watched as her son went through the door.
Katherine shed a small tear and a smile as she watched her boy go:
"They grow up so fast."
Timothy walked right in to the teacher's class, and already he knew he wasn't going to like it. He saw all kinds of young foals playing about in the classroom, until he saw a young purple mare, with three flower heads as her cutie mare. Her hair had a color of pink and light pink in it. She also seemed very cheery. When Timothy called out to her, she turned to him and gave a smile to him.
"Why hello there! My name's Ms. Cheerilee! What's your name?"
Timothy hesitated for a moment before answering:
"Erm,...Timothy, ma'am."
"Well good to meet you! Have a seat, class is about to start."
Timothy nodded and trotted over to the right side of the class where he found a open seat and sat down in it. It wasn't long before Ms. Cheerilee told everyone to find their seat in class. But then Timothy started to get nervous: 'I just hope that nothing goes wrong..I mean, what could go wrong on the first day of school...? When suddenly, a pink foal with purple and white hair came up to him and accused him of stealing her seat. The foal also had a Diamond Tiara in her hair.
'Uh-oh.' He thought, 'This can't end well.'
