A New Hero
Chapter 1: A Humble Beginning
Load Full Story"Hey Star loser, where ya heading, your spaceship?" One bully joked.
"I told you my name is Stargazer and I don't have I ship. I'm going to my house," I replied annoyedly.
"And where would that be, the sun? Ha ha ha!" another one said. I turned to stare at my tormentors.
"You know, at least I don't waste my time making fun of others unlike you lamebrains,"
"Ooo, I'm so scared, yea what does a shrimp like you know!"
"A lot more than you two idiots,"
"Ok that's it!"
I took off galloping down the streets of Maretropilis as fast as my small legs would take me. I effortlessly tried to loose my pursuers but they were right on my tail. "You wouldn't hurt a foal with glasses would you?" I called out. The two bullies simply ignored me and just kept pursuing me. It wasn't long until I turned the corner and was on my street in the lower depths of the city. I could see my house in the distance. I was almost home free, but I wasn't fast enough and was instantly cought by the two bullies.
They knocked me to the ground and pinned me there. They were going to deliver a world of hurt on me until something hit them in the back of their heads. Turning to see what hit them they were only beaten again and again and again until they left galloping out of there. I got up, picked up my books, and turned to thank whoever saved my but. When my eyes fell upon a cream colored filly with blue eyes who held a metal pipe in her hooves, I was in complete lovestruck.
"Are you ok?" she asked. My heart fluttered at her beutiful voice.
"Uh yea, I'm fine, but why did you do that?"
"I just hate saying seeing a bunch of jerks picking on someone much smaller than they. They should pick on someone their own size! Anyway, who where they?"
"Just the local bullies. They always wait for me at school to mess with me. By uhm thanks. What's your name," he asked.
"Milky Way, I just moved here."
"The name's Stargazer," I said in a giddy mood as we started walking to his house.
"Really, why is that?" Milky asked.
"Well, I guess the reason is because when I was younger, my mom said that I liked staring up at the stars at night, and because it suits my silver coat and black mane. So why are you called Milky Way?" I asked.
"Same reasons I guess? Maybe its because I like starring at the stars at night, or maybe it suits my coat and mane because it looks like milk, or because I just enjoy milk," she replied. They both laughed at that. That's when Stargazer noticed he was at his destination.
"Well, here we are," I said.
"No way! You live right next door to me!" She said surprisingly.
"Cool, hey do you want to uhm... Hang out sometime?"
"Sure, you can show me around the city,"
"Great! So, I'll see you later I guess,"
"Bye," the cream filly said while waving good bye. I waved back before rushing into my house.
"Hey honey, how was your day? Did you run into any problems?" my mother asked.
"Kinda, but a beutiful filly next door saved me, and I think eh likes me!" I said excitedly.
"Oh my little colt is growing up into a fine stallion! If only your father was here to see this." A wave of depression washed over the two, but they were able to over come it. "So honey, are you two bf and gf?" She asked. I was simply disgusted by the question.
"Mom, we just met, she told me to show her around the city," I replied.
"Well you two be carefull, the streets are no place for a foal like you," my mother said while rapping her son in a big hug.
"Alright mom, now I got to get to work on my homework. We're working on potion making at school!" I said before running off to my room.
I closed the door, laid the books on the bed and laid down on my bed. I starred up at the ceiling just thinking about Milky Way. It's actually something I've never felt before. Normally, I'd think fillies were yucky, but there's something about her that I liked. It could be because she saved me or because she looks nice. I don't know if she feels the same, and if she does, what does she see in a nerd like me.
I got up and went and opened the first book from the pile labled The young reader's giude to the night sky. This will come in handy for later. I looked at the window to look at the evening sky until I turned my gaze over at the house next door and saw Milky Way watering some flowers on the window sill. She moved her gaze towards me, smiled, and waved. I smiled and waved back. My face felt really warm from all the nervousness I had felt inside. It was so much that I practically fainted from it.
"Are you ok?!" I heard Milky Way call out.
"Yea, I'm fine," I called back lying on the ground. What is happening to my life, cause I don't know if it just gotten better or worse.
