First Night.
The cheering of the ponies died down as the two figures slowly headed off stage, one, gray with a beautiful black mane, who packed a large cello into a case before setting it on her back, the other, white, with a messy electric blue mane and tail, glasses over her eyes, who followed the grey one off the stage. Everypony here was like a stranger to her. Octavia took music very seriously, unlike her partner. When Vinyl pushed open the door everypony turned and laughed, waving, yelling Vinyls name as a usual member of this bar. No pony even bothered to welcome her, filling her with fury. "I'm... From Canterlot. I lived there ever since a filly, never really left until I was almost a mare. Berry Punch rolled her eyes. "You're sure filled with questions aren't t you? Heh. My favorite food is probably a dandelion sandwich, those things are so good... Color? Purple! I mean, it's kinds obvious with my house and all... M-Magazines? Oh uh those are just... Magazines on... Drinking." "Two treats in one morning? Hm I'm not gonna complain..." Berry Punch smirked and gently gave her a little spank on her flank, causing her to jump a little and blush. "Hey don't push it!" Octavia teased as she got out off the bed and headed downstairs to go cook.
Taking off her bow tie before leaving the room, she set it down on the left nightstand, it had to be washed later. Walking down the stairs and into the kitchen a Octavia looked around the kitchen. The floor was pink and white tiled with small squares, the counters white and the walls and ceiling plum. It matched the rest of the house perfectly. Her hooves clicked across the tile. I couldn't ask for a better mare then her. I know she isn't so fond of you, and I've heard what happened when she was young, and you all are t exactly the best in my opinion. The fact you treated her like that is horrible, a mother and father should never do that. Now, what more do you want to know? I have until my mother is done speaking with her, which will take a bit no doubt."
"We are all just... Curious here. Is your cello here? We'd love to hear a song or something, or to get at least an autograph from the best cello player in Equestrian history! We'd be really grateful."
"I... Er well no. My cello is at mine and Vinyls place, it won't be here for days most likely so I can't really play a song without a cello. I don't give out autographs for free sorry, but I can not give either of those right now."
"You... Know what? We are gonna just be... Fully clear with you. We ah... Would like for you to date our... Other daughter. To live Sugh her in her canterlot home. She is single too, a true lover of the cello! Berry Punch doesn't need you, she just needs some drinks and you'll be all forgotten about. She's not good enough for you, Ponyville mare, the town drunk no doubt, dating a classy cello mare, the Octavia Melody. You deserve better then her Octavia, and our daughter is a loyal lover who will treasure you deeply... So? What do you say? Ready to dump our drink pathetic mistake for our better daughter?" The father asked.
Octavia's body was filled with fury in seconds. The mares front legs shook, she blinked in confusion, expecting it to not be true, before it was... Confirmed inside of her. She shook her head angrily, throwing an angry glance. "You... Come into our... House... And you ask... For me to leave the mare I love... For you other daughter?! Your lucky your Berry's Family!! But she will not argue with me on this decision!! GET out!! Now!! All of you out of this house right now or I swear I'll hit you so hard you won't see next week!! OUT!! Now!! Get out of this house and don't you all dare to come back!! Leave now!!" Octavia yelled the last part, stomping a hoof on the ground and glaring at them angrily. "GET OUT!!"
They fled from her like mice running from a cat, turning, trembling, fleeing the house fast as Berry Punch bolted into the dining room, seeing her standing there, panting, while the door lay wide open from her parents bolting out as fast as they could, clearly taking her threats seriously.
"Octavia?!? What happened?!"
She turned and sighed out angrily, trying to calm down from this. How dare they come inside this house and try to break up her and Berry!! "Your parents tried to break us up!! They wanted me to go out with your sister!" Octavia responded, feeling their muzzles brushing as Berry Punch nuzzled her, wrapping her front legs around her. "Shh... Shh calm down Octavia calm down... It's okay it's okay.. My families gone... Deep breaths, sit down." She nodded, sitting down as she calmed down, never so angry in her life! That family was bad, just like Berry Punch had said.
It took about a minute before she sighed once more. "I just can't believe they did that though... I mean they came over then say your not good enough for me. It's just... Ignorant! You just like... Don't do that... Ugh enough about them how'd it go with my mother? She didn't chew you out or be too rough now did she?" Berry chuckled as she said that, rolling her eyes.
"Oh she fell asleep like two minutes ago. She just talked with me a bit about you, bout... Other things. But it wasn't long. She seemed really sweet until it came to the topic of you... Look how about since she's sleeping we go hit the bar or stop by vinyls? I do, and I know you do after that, want a little cooling down."

Soon after Octavia set her mother in bed, the new couple headed out of Berry's house to head to the bar. Per request of her new marefriend of course. Sure she knew Berry Punch would have an amazing time drinking, but she herself wasnt going to drink, not after what happened last time, along with what her mother had warned her about! Plus Octavia wasn't much of a drinker, that.. That had been set in stone. Shaking her head to clear the thoughts, she didn't want to think about her past, not when she should be having fun, or getting a piece of her mothers mind because she got in the newspaper again! That mare scared her, ever since she was a little filly her mother had been a loving, caring soul.. But also one that scared her till her bones shook.
A simple little water would do for her and that'd be fine, maybe a tiny snack with Berry to fill her rumbling stomach. This would be a great time to actually... Get to know her! Octavia smiled as she walked alongside her marefriend, their hooves beating down on the dirt road beneath them. Adjusting her bowtie and fretting with her mane a bit, Octavia began moving closer to her, blushing when she bumped into Berry by accident. The bar wasn't far away now, They got a few glances, giggles, blushes, though she just tried to look her best and ignore it all. Ponies all over had heard about the news that had happened, who wouldn't have seen the front page of.. Her? Octavia shivered at the thought, hopefully when she performed ponies would understand it wasn't just a one-night stand or "Friends with Benefits". It was something more, and hopefully the glances would end soon. They reached the saloon-style door in a few moments, not enough time, Octavia blushed and looked around, feeling jittery and nervous, how could she so her face so soon, she was an idiot to come out so quick after the newspaper had came out, no pony would look to her as the same anymore, just that mare who they all saw in the newspaper!
"B.. Berry.. I.. I can't do this.." Her hooves didn't meet the wooden porch of the bar, instead finding the dirt right infront of it. She would have scoffed and pulled her hooves up, but that would make even more a scene, not to mention she wasn't so focused on that at the moment. Doubts were hanging in her mind, was this even a smart idea? Berry's eyes had lit up at the thought of going out to the bar, for fun, for drinks, to chat, a good time.. But Octavia was scared senseless, what would ponies say to them when she came inside? Her love for Berry made her want to go on, but pride was getting in the way. How could she go in and face a crowd who had looked up to her as a sophisticated, hard working mare, now seeing her as a mare who was fucked silly before being carried through town? It would pass, she hoped, Octavia was begging to Celestia. The snickers and glances had been brushed off.. But this was where she met Berry, this was where it all began, and this was a building filled with drunk ponies and waitress's who would stare or drunkly tease her. Laughter from inside hit her ears, the friendly enviroment inside, the sound of ponies singing with their friends, mingling with strangers.. But would that all turn hostile when she went inside? Would that laughter be at her, for messing up like that, for being exposed how she was? No pony knew she was with Berry that night, everypony just thought it was a random stallion, missing the truth by a longshot.
"Octavia.. What's wrong?"
Octavia was fumbling for the right words to explain to Berry. Pride? Pride wouldn't let her go into a bar with her marefriend. "Oh yes Berry, it's nothing. I just don't want to be seen in a public place by myself or with you, my image is tainted enough, now let's go in a bar filled with ponies and act like nothing had happened" The concern in the magenta ponies eyes was too much, so Octavia straightened her shaking self, took a deep breath, then gulped down her bitter, sour words. "W-What? Nothing is wrong.. Just.. A little jittery, nothing wrong, nerves got the best of me back there. Please, let's head inside and enjoy ourselves.. Shall we?" The words flowed out calm, steadily, her eyes not wavering, her voice not shaking, she wasn't acting nervous, not how some ponies did when lying, no, this was a mare who had perfected that art. It had bought her enough, Berry Punch frowned before it tilted up into a warm smile, turning around to trot inside, with Octavia soon behind her. Another stunt like that wouldn't be acceptable, not in the middle of a bar, not after a lie like that. Nothing was fine, it was all wrong, they should've stayed inside until it all blew over a bit at the least, not go right on outside for drinks as if they were fine! Never in her life had she been so.. Afraid? Nervous? She was usually showing her face proudly, a successful concert showing in the news for ponies to smile, to give her respect, to know she was a hard working mare that put music first. But now they had all seen what had happened, some even with their own eyes, Octavia just hoped that look would still shine in their eyes, or if snickers and glances were going to rule the night.
The warmth hit her as she stepped inside, hooves holding firm, the sound of laughter filling her ears again, eyes glancing over all the tables and booths filled with ponies, trapped in their own world, clinking glasses, chugging down their drink, or simply munching on some food while chatting with the ponies sitting with them. Berry was well known here, Octavia could easily tell she was a drinker, and with only one bar in Ponyville that she knew of, not that she knew much about it, it was obvious she'd be well known. Though Her cutie mark made her wonder if she made wine or something of the sort, rather then just being a heavy drinker. Everypony had a different destiny.. If that was Berry Punch's, Octavia wouldn't judge, it just did seem a little bit odd for a pony to just specialize in that! Her hooves kept following the swaying rump and tail infront of her as they walked inside, though no eyes turned to her, no pony giggled, no pony called her out. Partly because she and Berry slid into a corner booth off to the left once they walked inside, party for them being too drunk to notice two new mares heading on inside of the packed place. Her eyes closed as she leaned back, stretching, getting lost in her thoughts as her marefriend sat down next to get, a waitress already trotting over. M.. Maybe I had been a little.. Over-dramatic, but the night is still young.. Oh I just hope nopony notices us, it couldn't have blown over so quickly, those mares outside were snickering at me! Deep breaths.. Keep your cool, don't make a scene.. Enjoy the night, you know you don't get these alot.. But wha- "Octavia? Octavia, what would you like to order hun?"
Berry's voice slipped her from the nervous thoughts, bringing her back. Eyes snapping open, her cheeks flushed a dark red in the dimly lit bar, not very noticeable except for Berry giving a warm smile. "Uhh.. I'll have... I'll have.." She'd never ordered from a bar before, so what she usually ordered from places was out of question. What was even served as bar-food? "I'll take erm.." The waitress tapped her hoof, still holding the pen tight, impatience starting to seep over. "Water and uhm.. And.. A salad..With.. Extra dandelions?" The mares eyes rolled, sighing. "Darlin', next time ah suggest just grabbin' a menu. Ah'll see what can be whipped up, might be a little extra, don't serve salads usually, or take specific requests." With that, after scribbling it down, she turned to go give the order, Octavia feeling a little sting from the snap at her.
"Oh, Don't worry, she's just new here. I could go complain if you want, but at least she said she'll see what they can do, right? Heh, you can just ask me what they serve Tav, I get you're a little new to.. This. The bar and all. Don't worry, it's easy to adjust." Berry leaned across the table to kiss her cheek, the flush growing more on the grey mares cheeks. "T.. Thanks.. Just.. Thank you.. First time I've been out in a bar besides last time, though that went quite quick." Octavia returned the warm smile, breathing out a long, happy sigh. Nothing seemed to be going wrong besides her little slip up. Her fear was ebbing away faster, before it was gone. They were just two marefriends out on a date in a bar, her pride wouldn't get in the way.
"I hope you can handle shots, I ordered a tray for us, six each, that seem alright? I know you probably don't want to get drunk, but three shots won't hurt, just me and you.. Please? Have a little fun with me, don't you have practice tomorrow with Vinyl, so we won't exactly see eachother.. You know?"
"W-What, Berry, you know I.. I'll stick with my water, please.. I'm not a fan of drinking.." She seemed to want it so much, for her to let loose, to enjoy herself.. She was right, maybe just.. A little wild side wouldn't be TOO much to ask! "O-okay.. Okay, just one, just one, that's my deal. My practice is all day, but that's even if she bothers to show up, usually she's wasted or partying out with a few. Don't get me wrong Vinyl is.. Great, she's amazing at what she does.. Even if I disapprove of everything that involves that music, it blends alright with mine, but she is getting a bit rusty recently! Hmph.. We have a concert in four weeks now and she's shown up to the practice that we did BEFORE we even arrived in Ponyville, she doesn't show up, though it'd greatly improve our playing if we could test out a few new things instead of going with what we chose a month before. I don't mean any offence to her, but it couldn't kill her to show up one time.. You know one time she actually took my bow string out as a joke?" Octavia chuckled a bit at the sudden thought, it had happened so long ago, but the event would never leave her..
Berry blinked in confusion, leaning forward a bit, eyes darting down, falling on the pink bow around Octavia's neck. "She.. Un-stitched your bow as a joke? How.. Uhm, how does that work?" She asked, not really getting the joke part yet. Why did one take one string out of the bow as a joke, it didn't make an appeal to her as much as it did to Octavia.
"Noo, no no, my bow is what I play with on the cello, she undid the string so I had to pluc-" In her gleeful explanation, Octavia hadn't been paying attention to the waitress returning, a quick blush formed on her cheeks again, making them burn with embarrassment. "That was quick.." She mumbled under her breath, seeing her Salad, topped with dandelions and extra oil, placed down infront of her, stomach rumbling in the response. Smiling, she saw the shots being set down along with the fries Berry had ordered, the waitress out of sight right after. It'd be fun to finally grab a bite, their first date, something they'd never forget. She was already thinking ahead, to the third, the fourth, maybe even teaching Berry Punch how to play the cello! Though in a relationship, and datewise, Octavia didn't know what they were exactly.. Supposed to really do. Was what she had in mind considered love, was it normal? This WAS her first date, not just in this relationship, but ever. Music was too important for love, she had a goal, standards, but those were quickly changing, her stress was wilting away, all that mattered right now was that smiling mare across the table from her! Hopefully her sad excuse of a love life wouldn't destroy what she had. "Mmmh.. Smells good... As.. As I was saying, she plucked out the string with her magic as I was playing. Oh, I threw a little tantrum, we were so young then.. I had to run out of the room and pluck out a strand of my mane and re-do it all! You should have seen my horror when it came out.." She giggled a bit, taking a quick forkful of her salad, enjoying the juicy crunch of it.
"Oh, I bet you looked so adorable, stomping on all out .. Vinyl's quite the trickster huh?" Berry gave a soft laugh, Tavi got lost in that almost, the soft sound was so lovely, smooth and clear.. But the thought of Vinyl made her start laughing more, blushing dark as she swallowed down the food quick before it came out, a little sip of water helping washing it down, a few giggles escaping her here and there as her head shook, a deep inhale finally making her stop. "N-.. Vinyl? Darling she's anything but a trickster! That mare is scarily good at pranks! Oh, there was that one time she switched my sugar with pepper! Have you ever had pepper covered pancakes? Not an experience I want to go over again.." Octavia blushed at the thought of it again, her cheeks easily rising to the dark red, nervously wondering what to say now that Berry had begun eating, their giggles faded now. She took a few bites herself.. What did ponies do on dates.. Dance! Dance, ponies danced! "Would you like to dance.. Maybe?" Octavia wasn't scared anymore, no pony had said anything about the paper at all, it was fine, a warm place, no pony wanted to call her out just for a few laughs. There were a few stares, but those were brushed off with a little kiss to Berry, a soft nuzzle, or one of the two giving off a joke. It was well past dark out, a soft, slow music was playing, was there a better time ever to dance? She let herself be taken from the booth by her lover, trotting happily with her to the white tiled floor in the middle of the bar, the smooth music calming her, feeling so relaxed pressed up against Berry, the soft, pink glow from the lights cast down on them, the floor, and the other few couples gently moving with eachother.
A light gasp left her as she was pulled into Berry suddenly, their cheeks close, bodies tight, a blush running over her cheeks, dark pink, her face shadowed with the soft pink light. She was a smaller mare then Berry, so she felt so protected, staring up at her, forehooves wrapped around her, the gentle music flowing through their ears, standing so close to her.. They hadn't even begun dancing, but Octavia's heart was already pounding in her chest, her stomach fluttering with butterflies, eyes sparkling with love. They hadn't known eachother long.. But she knew this was the love of her life. She leaned up, pressing her lips up to Berry's. Her pride didn't matter, music didn't come first.. This was the mare she loved with all her heart, the mare she never wanted to let go, to hold, to cuddle, to kiss and go through everything together.. The kiss broke with a soft strand of saliva hanging between their lips, Octy gazing lovingly into the mares eyes. "I love y-"
"Well well well.. Look what we got here.. Miss Slutavia!" Laughter barked from a table on the edge of the dance floor filled with stallions a few feet away, her fear catching her in her throat, the look of worry flooding her eyes, too noticeable. The calm night so far ruined for her, other ponies would notice, they'd laugh and slander her name.. Not here.. Don't make a scene.. Don't make a scene.. Blow him off, you're enjoying time with Berry...The nights barely begun, don't let it bother you..
"Octy, y-you're fine, don't let him bother you, we can head out if yo-"
"Berry..?"
"Yes, Octy?"
"I think I'm gonna need more then one drink.."

Haven't been on in a long time, most stories are on hiatus. Here you go for now, I hope y'all enjoy it, another chapter should be up soon.
The night went by in a quick blur after that, Octavia and Berry slinking off the dance floor to lounge at their booth, quickly going through the shots. But Octavia needed a fun, long night to let loose, so they were quick slamming down more, laughing while exchanging jokes and kisses, snuggled up right against one another, seeing who could drink the most, both nearly passing out in the process. It was so unlike her to be like this, to be so party like, drinking even. She NEVER drank, but the warm feeling tingling down her throat, the laughter of her marefriend and the stallions remark fading away all made up for it. When her twentieth glass hit the table, she slumped back, everything was spinning, she felt dazed, wobbly, grabbing for things that were far away. She was seeing two Berry's next to her, everything was doubling, spinning. For a mare who had drank once in her life before this, she had handled the drinking well. But she was tired, eyelids feeling heavy, her head found itself in Berry's lap, falling asleep quickly. When she was nudged, all that she gave was a loud groan, rolling closer into Berry. Letting her head rest against her stomach, the soft, sweet smelling fur soothed her back into her dreams. There was no way anything was waking her now, Octavia was needing the sleep.
When she did wake, Octavia was back in her bed, the curtains closed, door shut, the room covered in darkness, the early morning sun hidden from her. A loud groan left the musician. Rolling over, Octavia sat up in her bed, yawning loud, bringing a hoof up to rub her messy mane, bow-tie on the ground close to the door. She could barely remember anything from last night besides the kiss, which kept running through her mind, making her heart race a bit.. But what else had happened? She couldn't recall any of it, her mind groggy, body feeling exhausted, a horrid taste lingering in her mouth. Berry was passed out besides her, chest rising and falling slowly, still deep asleep. Closing her eyes to let out another yawn, Octavia groaned. Practice today, hopefully Vinyl would have showed up.. Thank Celestia too she didn't drink as much as Berry, or she'd be having quite the hangover! Forcing herself out of bed, she squinted, making herself rip open the blind, shielding her eyes to hide them from the sun as morning sunlight poured into the room. It was a bit late in the morning, not too late to go to practice, hopefully getting Berry to tag along! If she was disappointed by Vinyl again then she'd have some-pony to be with, if not, then she could see how well the two were doing. Running her hoof through her ruined mane again, Octavia headed for the door, picking up her bowtie to set it on her desk. She could still taste whatever she'd ate last in her mouth, lingering there, some water from the sink to splash on her face and a shower would make it all better- She could easily grab a few gulps! Maybe Berry would even wake up to join her in the shower.
The hotels bathroom was.. Decent. It was nothing compared to ones in Canterlot or in her own home, but it was still nice, small, cozy looking. Her hooves met the soft rug, the white tiles hidden under it. A few towels were on a rack, the tubs glass door shut tight. Dimming the lights to fit her eyes more, Octavia yawned again, wanting more sleep but knowing she'd never get it today. Forgetting about splashing her face already, she tumbled into the bathtub, closing the glass door behind her, the white, duck covered curtains hiding her from view. Gently turning the nob for hot and cold up, hot a lot more, Octavia sighed in relief as the hot, slightly cool water rained down on her exhausted body, though the feel of water was quick to wake. Steam rose up, quickly filling the bathroom, the mares relieved sighs echoing out, the soap running over her body, mane and tail drenched with water, the nasty taste replaced with water, fur being scrubbed clean, messy mane being washed clean with the cinnamon scented shampoo. After a night light that, a hot, long shower was a dream to Octavia. Still a bit fuzzy with the details, Tavi could clearly make out they got hammered before coming back home to pass out on her bed. Vinyl, thankfully, had probably been partying, that mare would have never let her live down getting drunk like that! The bitter taste must have been her puke, the very thought made her want to retch.
The sound of the bathroom door opening made her perk up her ears, a smile quickly forming on her lips as the glass door opened to reveal Berry, her mare-friend stepping into the soothing water. "Mmm.. Quite a night huh, Berry? You really got me drunk.." She said with a little giggle, leaning over to kiss her lovers lips, tasting the sweet taste of Berry, making her want to push deeper but knowing she had to pull away, Tavi did. "I have to leave soon for practice, I'm sorry, I was hoping you could come with me though? Vinyl is probably dying to see you with me, and it's better then staying cooped up in here!" The grey mare exclaimed, rushing, obviously. She, or they, had somewhere to be! HER, missing practice, Vinyl would tease her about that every day- Or worse yet use it as an excuse against her!
"Heh, yeah, sorry 'bout that.. Shoulda let you drink a little less, but you looked like you were having such a good time! Next time I'll let you get what you want, but sometimes Tavi ya' gotta let loose!" Berry chuckled and leaned down, kissing her smaller mare-friend, taking a soft sniff at her mane. "Mm.. What is that.. Cinnamon? Smells great~!"
Octavia's cheeks flushed red, nodding as if she was a filly almost, Berry's words just seemed to spin her heart and make her want to say yes over and over! She was so far in love with her, so wanting, so needy, all she wanted was to hold her love close and never let go, to just listen to her heartbeat, feeling soft kisses on her mane, strong fore hooves around her, drifting off to the soothing sound of Berry's laughter. "Mm.. Let's do.. Strawberry for yours!" Shampoo was spurted onto her hooves a moment later, then quickly ran through Berry's dipped head, her soft giggles bringing a smile on her face again. "You have such a beautiful laugh.."
About an hour later, the two were washed, dried, teeth brushed, fed, and ready to go. Octavia's bow-tie was on, Cello strapped onto her back. The practice was taking place where the concert was, Ponyville Town Hall. Not inside, since there was no way every-pony attending would fit it there. Outside, right in-front, with the backstage area located in the town hall, where Vinyl and Octavia would get ready then meet the lucky few, if any, who won backstage tickets. Usually they held a contest, ponies entered their names and a few lucky ones were chosen, though sometimes a blank slot of the many that are input are chosen! It was still quite early, stopping just around six hours or so before noon. The sun was still up though, an early rise this morning, sending soft sunlight down on the land, a cool breeze blowing over the two ponies. Ponyville was quiet at this team, no school today, ponies still sleeping inside, the roads barren as they trotted down them,a lazy Saturday.
It wasn't a long walk from the building out to the town hall, the keys given to her from the mayor to unlock it jingling from her mouth, muffled a bit though by the two's soft talking as they walked side by side. Unlocking the doors to the town-hall, she shut and locked them behind her, turning around to see.. No-pony. Not a huge surprise, Vinyl was no where to be seen, her equipment not set up. She was probably over at some-ponies house still hung over, partying, maybe playing a game or giving a private show. Sighing in disappointment, Octavia headed up onto the wooden stage, easy enough to fit her and Vinyl, but not enough room for every-pony, maybe half if most of the Pegasus stayed in the air- Which was asking a little too much. "I should have known she wouldn't come, always missing our practices, should be here right now, that equipment of hers takes at least a hal-" A knock on the door made them both jump a bit, Octavia's frown turning into a light smile. "Oh look.. Guess who is here.. Minutes late but nonetheless at least.. Here." She mumbled, unlocking the door for her to let her in. A few speakers covered with a magical glow floated themselves in, followed by cords and headphones, a mass of equipment that should have been here already. "Good to see you Vinyl.. I believe you two have already met?"
Vinyl's carefree laugh filled the empty building, the DJ mare stepping inside, using a hing leg to kick the door shut, yawning. "Come onnn Octavia, it's only like five minutes late, barely anything! I'll get this all set up while you practice, no biggie! Oooh.. Heh.. it worked? A.. Awesome!" Vinyl's eyes lit with joy, a gentle nuzzle to Octavia's cheek causing a jealous look on Berry's face and a happy one on Vinyl's. "Hold yourself, I'm not trying anything~ Just glad it worked, Octavia already seems better with you- Before she would have bit my head off for missing!" A grin was on her face again at the light teasing she was getting. "Hey, try not to rut her while I set this up, alright?" With that, she turned and trotted off, giggling a bit, leaving a dark blushing Octavia.
Coughing into her hoof after her partner left, Octavia gathered herself together from the little teasing remark. "A-Alright! Um.. While.. She.. Hooks up all her equipment, I'll give you a little example of our new song. I'll be singing a few lines in this one unless we come up with something new, but it's more focused on her music being the beat to mine to make it "wub-tastic?" Basically I'll be playing louder, her shorter." Even being a small pony, years of lugging around such a large thing had given her quite the strong hooves, taking it out was almost nothing to her! With a bow in one hoof and the Cello set up in the right position, with Berry watching, Octavia began to play.
~About a half hour later~
Octavia bowed her head as her hoof stopped, the bow playing out one last long note as Vinyl's woop of joy upon finishing setting up all her equipment. Berry began stomping her hooves, making her cheeks flush red, the bow running down her mane a bit as her hoof went up to nervously fiddle with it. It was quite a habit of hers, toying with her mane when nervous, or starting to shake as her nerves got the best of her. "T-Thank you Berry.. I.. I'm delighted you enjoyed it so!" Leaning forward, their lips met in a quick kiss before Octavia had to pick up her cello again, putting it back in its case to carry it up on stage, setting it down a little away from Vinyl's speakers and such.
"Soo.. How's it goin' with Berry? Sorry 'bout that little comment, but EVERYPONY has seen the paper of that! I.. I never suspected Berry had.. THAT, but hey, I don't mind her, not gonna tell any-pony! But of course alot think that she... You know. It's kinda obvious, there were no other ponies in the house, who else could it have been, huh? You two make a cute couple thou-" Her speaking stop as she noticed Octavia staring down at the stage fumbling for words with dark-red cheeks at the topic of fucking again, making her roll her eyes. "Well, Er.. Uhm, sorry, anyways. Sorry about being really late, had a kick-ass party last night.. Mighta drank a little too much! I fell asleep on the mares couch, had to run out carrying everything before racing over here, y'know I'd never just ditch on you! Let's get this started right?” Vinyl flipped on her glasses before heading over to her DJ station, headphones over her ears in a flash, her usual cocky grin on her face. Octavia, even though they had a deep, loving friendship, always had a.. Thing for Vinyl. Not anymore of course, well, maybe a tiny bit, but it was pushed so far down under Berry it wouldn’t be noticeable in the glance she gave to her. She was just.. So carefree, so playful, such a party-hard animal that loved to dance and blare music, to stay up late, not to follow rules and… Do well, everything Tavi was 100% against! That was why she had grown that loving feeling so long ago for her, but it was nothing now, but as she glanced at her, memories of when those feelings had come up filled her mind from her recent experiences with love. Perhaps that was the reason Vinyl had set her up, after the.. “Incident” Octavia’s stress had risen, she’d become a bit more hostile, work, work, work, nothing else, Vinyl was late, a big argument followed by Tavi storming out at the slightest mistake. All because of four words, four words that had shattered her at the time but turned her into a stronger mare, a better working mare, one who put love far aside.
It was a cold, snowy day in mid-winter, the campus, where two mares legendary in music, where staying. One, a prim proper mare from Canterlot, the other a wild DJ mare from Fillydelphia. Usually, they’d be out practicing new songs which would be on the lips of every other pony out there on campus, humming the beat of the DJ, Vinyl, or singing out the proper, classical mare, Octavia’s words. But not tonight. Every-pony was huddled together inside their dorms, the freezing temperature outside accompanied by the blizzard outside with wonder-bolt fast winds! This went to the two mares at the time, both wrapped in each-others fore-hooves, their bodies held close.. Octavia was filled with joy, her heart beating in her chest.. From filly friends to this, sharing a room together, playing daily with one another, to the point of finishing each-others sentences, to sleeping in each-others bed. It was love, her first ever love, spent with a mare so opposite to her she was sure mother would have a heart attack! But none of that mattered, their muzzles were pressed together, chests close, she was sure Vinyl could hear her rampaging heartbeat, her mouth struggling to form words to say, to get out the right ones, the ones that needed to be heard, to be said after all this time together, to how close they had been..
The scene flashed back, her bow dancing across the strings, her sorrow of that time escaping into now, breathing out into her words now, crackling with emotion as Vinyl quickly switched her beat to something more.. Sad. Octavia did it almost naturally, the music taking a turn for the kind that plucked at some-ponies heart.
“Vinyl.. Vi.. Vinyl I’v.. We've just become so close.. I.. I.. I love you Vinyl Scratch, I don’t ever want to let you go!” Pushing up, their lips pressed together, she held her close.. But it was pushed back, her first kiss shoved away, the look on Vinyl’s face shame, sorrow.. Guilt.
Her voice cracked a bit, she was a mare used to signing, of course she could easily change her tone to more sad, to show real emotion.. But would either of them know? She closed her eyes, not caring as she sang out once more, the music going slower, a tear forming in her eyes.
Octavia could feel her pushing away, the look all enough to break her heart, making her start to whimper a bit, not knowing what the problem was. “V.. Vinyl?”
“T.. Tavi I’m not… Into mares..”
She couldn't do it anymore, she was going to cry at the memory, cry because she had a new love, at how it picked at her strings, made her remember how she had become after that, only being saved from Vinyl’s apology.. So why was she remembering it in that glance? Was it because she had found some pony else? She wanted to get rid of the memory, she had Berry now.. Berry would never do that to her, they loved eachother, Vinyl had made her mistake, it wasn't going to get to her now! The memory broke off as she forced it down, not wanting to remember those times, voice singing out through the empty space of the town hall, hanging on one last note before it stopped, her hoof coming to a rest, the mare panting a bit.
“Tavi That.. Was.. AWESOME!!”
Berry’s stomping filled her ears, Octavia was grinning at the sight. That glance had brought up such an old memory, a mistake of her past, she never should have acted so much.. But she needed to talk with Vinyl about it, something like that from a few witty remarks about sex and her and Berry? She had to confront the problem.. But not now, not here.. Another time.
“T.. Thanks! Uh.. Pick a beat, let’s go again!”

Octavia was glad when the practice finally did end, panting a little bit as she set down her cello into her case, zipping it up. She had tried quite hard, though emotion like that was wrestled out from her thick skin, it wasn't something she could just keep doing over and over, especially infront of a huge crowd! It was a mistake of the past, it wasn't something for now, maybe not even ever, Berry was with her now, and those words had made her who she was, it was something that might just be best left alone.. They were great, quite close friends now, messing it up over a stupid mistake of the past was a horrible idea, so Octavia decided to just let it be. She did flash a warm smile up at Vinyl as she hopped off the stage, stretching, giving out a yawn before trotting for the door, just going to leave the equipment here for the practice again in a few days. It's not like anypony would steal it, so why not? The last the two lovers heard of her was the door shutting behind her as she left, leaving them alone.
Octavia's hooves brought her forward, their lips pressing together, her heart soaring, thumping as it always did, going loopy whenever Berry was around. "Thank you.. A lot, for being here, listening.. It truly means so much to me.. Maybe.. We can head back to your place tonight, some us time? Vinyl will be at our room, I'd rather it just be the two of us for now.. Perhaps some dinner.. A bit of cuddling and reading?" She asked hopefully, a nice, peaceful night, relaxing, a book in her hooves, Berry snuggling by her, the fire crackling. It sounded like a dream come true right now! Hopefully my mother is gone, though I'm sure when she woke she headed out, not that she'd just wanna stay with Berry for a few weeks! She's done that way too many times, I seriously just want some alone time wit- Her thoughts were pulled away from Berry giving off a little yes, getting up to stretch before helping Octavia up. A warm smile danced across her lips as she was helped up, heading towards the door with her lover at her side, the cello on her back- She, unlike Vinyl, would NEVER leave someplace that she had brought it to, without it. Her cello was like a second lover to her..- their bodies pressed against one another.
Arriving to Berry's empty house was perfect for Octavia, the last thing she needed was her mother here, though she was sure there was a note somewhere or a letter coming soon, it was unlike her to just up and leave without leaving behind something. Yawning as she closed the door behind her, she propped the cello very carefully up against the chair in Berry's living room, taking a glance around it. She hadn't paid much attention to it before, though she found herself blushing at the last event that had happened in here.. The floor was wooden, with magenta walls a bit like Berry's coat, matched with the same colored ceiling. A fireplace was located in the middle of one wall directly across from where she was standing, with a few rewards hanging from the wall around it, she'd soon be checking out those.. The couch was on the wall to the right of it, a large window behind it, a table sitting in front of it. Across from that was a bookshelf mostly empty with a lamp post next to it, newspapers under it, where the lounge chair was. A white, oval rug sat in the middle of the room. It seemed.. Barren, a bit not decorated, maybe she could move a few things in here.. Berry seems to relax in here, maybe.. Yes, I can set my cello up in the middle, she can relax a bit on the couch and listen.. Mh.. Octavia could already picture it now, maybe move in a bit of her stuff here, help decorate the rest of the house. She hadn't seen much, the bedroom, the kitchen, the living room, not the bathroom and she was sure there was a basement and a few other rooms upstairs! Maybe tomorrow, tonight was relaxing, maybe the same with tomorrow.. They would see when the time came. For now, that couch was calling her name.
Octavia woke from her brief sleep to a soft nudging against her cheek, a loud groan leaving her, knowing it was time to wake. The juicy smell of salad and daisies filled her nose, eyes fluttering open to see Berry kissing her cheek, prodding her with her nose gently, two bowls, one bigger, one smaller, filled with lettuce on the table. Besides the smaller one was a book with Daring Do across the front, her eyes sparkling with joy at the sight. Yawning softly, she gave her mare-friend a little kiss, feeling much better for the amount of sleep, even if small. Sliding off the couch after a quick stretch, she sat her rump down next to Berry infront of the smaller bowl, giving her lips a little lick. "Mmm.. It smells and looks good.. T.. thank you, uhm, alot, for the book and cooking." It wasn't a five star meal, but Octavia wasn't looking for a master chef, it looked fine as is, filling and the right amount for a mare her size. Giving the magenta, strawberry scented mare a little nuzzle, she turned down to her food to start eating.
"Heh.. It's no problem, really, it was my pleasure to go grab it! I hope you enjoy it.. I simply grabbed what was "hot" according to the owner!" Berry's lips curved up in a smile, her heart racing a bit, eyes running over Tavi's body. She loved to see her smile, adoring that hot blush that always burned across Octavia's face, and that sparkle in her eyes from the title showed she was quite the lover of Daring- Not to mention making Berry's heart race! Seeing her start to dive it, she gave her mane a little nudge, fixing it up a bit from the mess sleeping had done, before going to eat her own bowl, much larger then Octavia's. The two ate mostly silently, giving eachother little nudges or kisses here and there, but mostly they kept munching down the salad, soon finished down to the last bite, both hungry from the day of going with nothing but a quick breakfast on the way to the town hall. Seeing her lover finished, she kissed her nose before getting up, taking both bowls with her. "Crawl up on the couch and get nice and cozy.. I'll put the bowls in the sink and snuggle with you after I get them washed up." Stretching, Berry Punch got up, carrying both bowls out to her kitchen, leaving Octavia to crawl up on the couch.
The meal was delicious! Octavia was munching it down hungrily, blushing a bit at her behavior, but her stomach got the best of her. When she finished the meal and Berry headed out to clean the bowls, she licked her lips, running a hoof over her full, stuffed stomach, eyes glancing down at the book. The setting suns sunlight cast the room in a soft glow, long shadows cast across the room. Even though it was late, she wasn't near tired, that nap had re-juiced her, but a book read and snuggles sounded better then heading out! She was quick to be on the couch, book snatched up against her chest, a few warm, fuzzy blankets pulled over her, making her snuggle deeper into the couch, adoring the warmth and coziness.
Berry was joining her quick, Octavia's eyes blinked open to see the magenta mare crawling onto the couch, heading under the covers to soon appear behind her, her head pressed up into her mare-friends neck, strong forelegs wrapped around her, covers pulled up to their necks. Octavia sighed in bliss, being so close, so warm.. Opening up the book, a shiver went down her spine at a kiss to her neck. She's so perfect.. It's so cozy and warm here, I just love it so much.. Mm.. Maybe I.. I could move in here, it is a bit fast but.. Oh I feel so at home here! And maybe I can get a little extra loving tonight.. A smile went across her lips at the thought, and at that she began to read, pressed close to Berry, her heart racing, the sun setting on the two ponies who were wrapped so tightly together. She didn't get in that extra loving she had planned, falling asleep snuggled tight quite quickly, slipping off into peacefully, happy dreams.
Morning came quick, Octavia's eyes opened up to the two of them snuggled tight together, her face pressed up into Berry's neck, her small forelegs wrapped around her waist, something hard squished between them. Rolling her eyes, Octavia yawned out, stretching a bit, slowly unwrapping her forelegs from around Berry. The suns rays were barely peaking into the room, a little bit away from rising fully, Berry still sleeping peacefully on the couch. She slid off, stretching again, shaking herself. It was cozy warm inside the house, even outside of the warm blankets and snuggling. She felt.. Peaceful, relaxed.. Perfect. An idea quickly popped in her mind, the mare gave a little smirk as she grabbed her cello, quickly setting herself in the middle of the room, facing towards the couch. Extra practice along with pleasing her mare-friend, a win-win situation as ponies would say! They did just begin this road, but Octavia was going to enjoy it, maybe one day she might even have a foal to raise with Berry.. She smiled a bit at the thought, slowly starting to play, the soft, gentle music starting to fill the empty house.
