Load Full StoryThe world was quiet. Not a sound was made since the incident. Twilight stood there, her breath still. This was all her fault. This entire thing was all her fault. She couldn't fix it, she had to let it run it's course...
But how could she? Doing so would mean that the elements of harmony would be stuck here forever. Those were the most vital parts of Equestria. With two broken wings, Twilight couldn't fly to survey the area. It's hard to think she would be able to in such darkness.
Suddenly, as if answering her prayers, the world suddenly came into view. She was in a dark cave, with no relative knowledge as to knowing where it is.
The game has started...
She had to find the others RIGHT NOW! There was absolutely no time to waste! Twilight bounded through the cave as fast as she could, hoping she wouldn't find it. She was hoping it wouldn't find anypony before they could all get together.
She gulped, as she turned each corner. More fear of the inevitable creeping up her spine as she galloped through. Her legs already tiring. That's when she found Pinkie Pie, her hair flattened like a pancake. She looked normal... if not, shaken up a bit... Twilight couldn't help but sigh in relief. "Oh thank Celestia I found you Pinkie!"
Pinkie looked over to Twilight, and gave a smile, already on the verge of tears. "Twilight!" She jumped at Twilight and held her close. "I-I-I thought that the big mean thingy got you!" She sniffed.
Twilight blinked. She knew who was it now but...that's impossible. She was right here. She sighed, as she held onto Pinkie, who was crying silently into Twilight's mane. "Come on Pinkie, we need to find the others..."
Pinkie looked up at Twilight, quick to help her. "I-I saw Rainbow Dash not too long ago! She went thataway!" She pointed with her hoof. There was no time to waste. There were ponies that needed saving.
Twilight nodded, as she held onto Pinkie's hoof and trotted beside her as she led the way. Pinkie stayed close to Twilight, like a scared foal would stay close to her mother.
Twilight and Pinkie had been trotting for the longest hour, almost scared out of their wits. It felt that every step they took was another step towards it. Twilight and Pinkie had started picking up the pace. They needed to hurry, time was running out slowly as they got ever so close to what they thought could be their friend... or at least they hoped.
Twilight sighed. "Pinkie, are you sure she went this way?"
Pinkie nodded. "Yeah, she ran away from me when I called out to her..." She reassured Twilight.
It was starting to get cold in this cave. As they ventured deeper inside, it began to get colder. Twilight wished her magic worked in this field of magnetic energy yet there was so much of it here that she was unable to use it. She sighed, as her breath thickened in front of her. Pinkie was shivering against Twilight. That's when Twilight saw it.
It was an exit! She thought that monstrosity got rid of all the exits! She ran to the exit, letting go of Pinkie, who galloped beside her. That's when they both stopped. Their joy was quickly diminished. There was no exit...
Well... it was, but it didn't lead anywhere. Going out there would be suicide. through the cave side, snow, as far as the eye can see, blanketed the landscape. No trees or villages could be seen from here. Not even with a telescope. A blizzard could be seen picking up ahead. No wonder it was so cold here...
Twilight punched the cave exit's side, cussing obscenities as she did. She was ready to tear up, as she held onto her injured hoof. Pinkie held onto Twilight to comfort her. "It's alright Twi. We just need to find everypony else, right? That's our plan, right?" Pinkie looked to Twilight pleadingly.
Twilight gulped, as she began to walk forward. She was right. If she could get all the elements together, she could banish this thing into whatever hole it crawled out of. She held her head high, and her hoof limply planted itself onto the cold floor. It pained her, but she needed to move on... for her friends... Twilight and Pinkie walked further into the darkness...

Rainbow Dash huffed heavily. Was it gone? Am I safe? She sighed, as she leaned against the stone wall. That was way too close for her comfort. Whatever the heck that thing was, she was glad it stopped chasing her. She took a deep breath, and continued on. She felt she couldn't trust anypony that came her way. It was almost as if they were all against her or something... or worse...
She couldn't think about that. She needed to move, she needed to keep going. There's no way that thing would just stop because it's bored. She knew it was still following her down this hallway. She ran as fast as her legs would carry her...
And then she stopped, before she hit the wall ahead of her. She looked around. It was a dead end...
She gulped, as she turned around. She had to wait. If she ran back, she was certain she would run into her doom. She sat down, and started to reflect on her life. What could she have done wrong to let all her friends and herself get into this mess? What unspeakable force out there decided that this would be her punishment? And why?
She was close to giving up. She wanted to just die and be over with it. She looked around again, tears blurring her vision. Why doesn't this just end already?!
That's when she heard it. Her doom, coming down the black hallway infront of her. She huddled up against the corner, ready to just accept her fate... yet her mind wouldn't allow her to. She got up, and readied herself for anything, wiping away the tears.
That's when Twilight faded into view, with a startled Pinkie Pie huddled against her. "Oh! There you are Rainbow! We've been looking everywhere! Quick, come here!" Twilight said, as she looked back. "This is a death trap waiting to happen..." She said shakily.
Rainbow Dash quickly ran up to Twilight. She was eager to get out of this hellhole as soon as possible. "Lead the way, Twi." She said, as she stayed close to the group. That was already half the group. This could be easier than Twilight thought! She just needed to make sure she got away from this dead-end before...
Her ears perked up. Twilight gasped, as she held everypony from advancing. She heard it coming...
She back everypony up against the wall to buy them more time, as if hoping for somepony to save them. She gulped, as she was ready to finally see this thing face-to-face.

"HEY, YA UGLY VARMINT!"
It was Applejack, crying out to the beast. "Bet cha' ya can't catch somepony as delicious as me!" She said, as she tauntingly waved her flank in it's direction. "Come on! I ain't got all day pal!"
The beast growled, as it lunged forward. Applejack bounded out of the way and into the free space, the monster chasing her down, roaring a blood curling scream that made everypony's hairs stand on end. Twilight looked to the others. Now was their chance. They had to go NOW!
Twilight and Co. charged headfirst for the fork in the road that would lead them out of this dead end. When they found it, they took a sharp left, and almost headbutted Fluttershy, who was covered in dust and looked sick. She fell to her knees and covered her head, begging for that monster not to eat her.
Twilight gently patted the cowering Fluttershy. "It's okay Fluttershy, It's us, you're friends. We need you to help us find Rarity..." She said, looking back down the hallway, to make sure that beast wasn't coming this way. Fluttershy slowly got on her hooves, and gave a shaky nod, her eyes darted left and right, making sure she was safe, before she hid herself in the middle of the group. Twilight was almost close to having her friends all together. It was all a matter of how much time they had to get all their powers together to end this once and for all...
The group continued to walk in silence. They were too afraid to speak up. Doing so could end up in them getting found.
And the group already knows what can happen if they all get found together like this...

Rarity silently wept in the corner. She was never afraid of the dark until there was suddenly a reason to be. Every sound that rang in her ears, imaginary or not, froze her body solid. She had seen that thing walk by, countless times, in a pattern of sorts, and it has not once seen her. At this point, she hoped it would never see her. She sighed, as she waited for what seemed like ages. She did notice one thing though...every time that creature would walk by, it would be the exact same no matter how much time had passed. Something was amiss...
She wanted to get up, but she would risk making too much noise and then getting found. That would be far too bad a fate to befall her. She sighed. Maybe she could get some sleep... just a wink of shuteye... anything at all to just be at some sort of peace. She attempted to close her eyes, only to quickly open them as she was startled by that familiar buzzing sound. She had gotten used to it, but now it was louder before.
It's chasing somepony! She thought. She knew this well when she last saw Rainbow Dash pass by here while that monstrosity charged through. She saw Applejack first, who took a very sharp turn to the left, in the opposite corner of her. She couldn't see Applejack in the darkness that reigned through the cave. That creature bounded and lept forward, expecting to catch it's pray. It soon stopped and looked around. Rarity froze still...
The creature stared into Rarity's direction. Did it know she was there?
She stopped every single movement in her body. The creature kept staring, looked away, and then did a double take. A clever idea, yet it hadn't worked. Rarity was shocked far too much to move even an inch. The creature then walked away, that damned buzzing sound slowing down and smoothing out. Soon, it was gone.
"Phew!" Applejack said, as she got into the center of the cave. "That there was a close one!" She said, wiping off the sweat on her brow. She was scared, but she wasn't some coward. She huffed and puffed, only to be grabbed by a white hoof.
Applejack almost screamed, before Rarity held her mouth shut. "Shh! It's me darling!" Rarity said. Applejack quickly melted onto Rarity, holding her in a hug.
"Oh thank sweet Celestia I found ya'll! We need to hurry up and get to the others! I saw the whole lot o' them when they were cornered by that darned monster!" She said confidently and heroically. Rarity gave a sigh of relief.
Good, they were okay. No wonder that monster hasn't changed yet. Maybe this would all end so-
She shut up, as she heard the monster coming closer. It leapt towards the two, who held themselves in a tighter embrace in fear. It was too late...
First, it took Applejack, ripping her away from her friend, and ramming her into a wall. "Get offa' me ya darn va-" She suddenly stopped breathing, and her eyes stared towards Rarity for help. Rarity had no idea what to do. She had to do something! She did her best attempt to buck away the monster.
Applejack fell down, almost limply on the floor. Rarity had to carry her on her back. The creature was dazed and confused, as the world̛ ҉aŕo͘u̵n͜d Ràri̛t̀y͜ ̡be͘gan͡ to di͜stơr҉t ̸i͡nt̸o͏ ͡th̕es͜e ̀diff͘e̢r̴e͟n͜t҉ ̷an͞d̷ ͟i̸m͡pos͝s͟ib̸le̢ sha͢pes. ̕

It was starting to get really cold inside the cave. This was the third time they had walked in a circle. They haven't found Applejack or Rarity anywhere. Twilight was thinking the worst had happened.
Pinkie gulped. "U-Um...Twilight?" She said softly.
Twilight turned around. "Yeah Pinkie?" She answered.
"I...uh...I need to..."
Twilight blinked. "You need to what?"
Pinkie fidgeted a bit. "I...kinda need to pee..."
Everypony blinked, and kinda scratched their head.
"Pinkie, you think you can maybe hold it in?" Rainbow Dash asked politely.
Pinkie cringed, and bit her lip, shaking her head in denial. "I-I really need to go..."
Twilight sighed. "Alright Pinkie...Go ahead..."
Everypony looked at Twilight. "You...Y-You mean right here? Infront of us?"
Twilight nodded. "We don't have much of a choice." She said, with a sigh.
Everypony looked at eachother, blushing as they did so.
Pinkie sighed, as she got into a corner, and assumed the position.
Everypony waited.
"I...I can't do it while everypony's watching!" She said, giving every a nervous glare. Everypony blinked, and turned around, apologizing as they did.
It still took awhile, and then suddenly, the sound of running water and steam collided with the ground. Everypony gagged a bit. This was a very uncomfortable scene.
"Um...Girls...that's not me..." Pinkie reassured them. Everypony blinked, and turned around. She was right, she still haden't...gone yet. Where was that sound coming from?
Twilight looked around, before seeing another hallway, slightly secluded to the side. "Hey everypony! I think I found the source of the water!" She said, everypony almost jumped in excitement, as they all ran towards the secret passage. When they got to the other side, they saw what the thought could have been impossible to see. They saw grass, and flowers, and a waterfall coming from the top of the cave, where sunlight beamed in. It was the most beautiful sight!
"GERONIMO!" Rainbow Dash said giddily, as she dived into the lake headfirst. Fluttershy joined in, needing the bath.
Twilight was awe struck. This was probably the most beautiful thing she had seen but... why was it here? And how come the water was so warm in such an iceland out there? Could this mean something?
She couldn't think too much about it. She looked down at the warm lake. It was so tempting to jump in and just relax for a little.
Pinkie tapped on Twilight's shoulder. She looked to Pinkie, and Pinkie nodded towards the exit. "I still need to...you know..."
Twilight nodded in approval, and Pinkie rushed out.
Twilight decided to taste the water that fell from the top of the cave entrance, to quench her parched throat. The water tasted so... cold... yet when she first felt it, it felt so warm...
What kind of magic was this?
She didn't mind, as she continued to drink from the lake. It's the only fresh water she was going to get for a long time.
Time passed, and Pinkie came back. She looked slightly better, as if she was relieved. She had been holding it in for a long time.
She decided to slide into the lake, yelling in excitement as she did. Everypony was having fun, almost forgetting about what was happening outside of this supposed safe haven...
Until they heard a scream.
Everypony stopped. The scream echoed the confines of the room. It was Rarity...
Oh lords above, it was Rarity.
Everypony quickly got out of the room as fast as they could to see what had happened. Rarity had passed right by them, not even taking a glance into the secluded room. They looked around the corner and saw...
Nothing... what was all the fuss about?
"Rarity! Wait!" Pinkie called out. Rarity almost tripped, and turned back, and breathed a sigh of relief. Applejack was still on her back.
"Oh thank goodness you're alright Pinkie!" She said. She looked as if she had been crying for the longest time. She walked towards the group, surprised to see them all together. "Oh! You found everypony else! This is splendid! I could never care for Applejack all by my little ol' self..." She said, before almost falling to her knees. "Um, if you would mind? She's getting a bit... heavy..."
Everypony nodded, and helped carry Applejack into the Oasis room. Rarity limply walked in, staring at the beauty of it all.
She asked the question that was on everypony's mind. "What is this place?"
Everypony shrugged, looking to another for any kind of suggestion to what this place may be...
Twilight sighed, as she looked at Applejack, inspecting her closely. Something was very wrong with her. "Rarity, what's wrong with Applejack?"
Rarity, shrugged. "I have no idea darling. That monster grabbed her and did something to her, I supposed. She isn't that thing, I know for sure. I had been running away from it a couple of minutes ago after I bucked it into a wall... I sure hope she's alright.."
Twilight nodded, as she felt Applejack's pulse. "She's okay!"
Everypony sighed in relief. This was all getting way to dangerous. They had to come up with a plan...
Twilight coughed. "Alright everypony. We need to start thinking hard. I was thinking we could use our elements to send this thing back where it came from!" She said vigorously. Everypony looked at eachother and nodded in agreement. They knew they could do this if they worked together.
