A normal Pegasus can fly through the air with graces of ease.
A normal Pegasus can pull their own weight effortlessly through any type of wind currents.
A normal Pegasus can break the boundaries of flight altitude for a short period of time before descending back to proper level.
Fluttershy was anything but a normal Pegasus pony. Well, as normal as she can get with the way she’s been flying as of late. With heavy quick panting as she flapped her tiring wings furiously to gain better ascension, the butter yellow Pegasus barely lifted an inch off the ground. Her neck crane oddly in a painful position, becoming ever so discouraged with little progress she’s making.
Quite understandable in the predicament she’s in, especially with a Shy Guy dangling on the end of her pink mane right by her side.
How did she end up in this situation was beyond her understanding. Fluttershy was simply minding her own business, observing Mother Nature’s beauty of wild life and blossoming plantation. Then suddenly, she felt somepony…or in this case, something, tug on her hair. The timid mare looked back, and to say she was surprise was a complete understatement.

With a squeal of fright, Fluttershy quickly fluttered away, only to suddenly realized that her attempts of escaping were about to go in vain, the masked robbed creature weighing her down. Frustration kicked in as she pushed harder, her wings working overtime to clear away from the field of flourishing flowers. This drive of newly found adrenaline was the equivalent of trying to grill potatoes under the rays of the sun.
Exhaustion reared its ugly head as the now tired Pegasus mare dropped like a dead leaf on the ground. She was sweating bullets, utterly beat and at the mercy of this masked thing beside her. She closed her eyes shut and tight, waiting for the inevitable. The only initial action the creature has commenced was simply tugging her mane.
“Erk. Ark.” The Shy Guy grunted with each slight pull from its stub griped.
Once she got her bearings together, Fluttershy, slowly gathering her courage, turned her head and began to observe this bi-pedal being. It was roughly a little shorter than her in height, wearing a mask with three holes in them as in-place for eyes and a mouth. It wore a bright red robe and hoodie with a little strap belt buckle and blue boots. In a way, it was kind of cute, but somewhat intimidating by how it was constantly staring at her.
“…oh my, what exactly are you…if you don’t mine me asking…” Fluttershy asked in her normally uneasy voice. All the Shy Guy did was stood there and stare blankly…at least, she think it was. It’s not easy to tell with no readable facial expression. “Um…can you…please let go of my mane…?”
“Erk. Ark.” The little masked creature reply by tugging her mane again.
Fluttershy silently squeak in nervousness. “Uhh, um, well…if…if you want to that is…”
“Erk.” It grunted again.
The yellow Pegasus tried to think of a possible solution. It was somewhat difficult to concentrate, especially when the masked robbed being kept tugging away on her abuse long mane like no tomorrow.
“Perhaps I-- Eep-- maybe it’s best to-- Owie-- to take you-- Ow-- take you to Twilight…” she finally considered after each interrupting yank. Figuring that the masked dwarf will follow her-- and she guessed right-- Fluttershy lead the Shy Guy across the open fields, heading straight towards Ponyville…her mane being pulled along the way.
…it’s a long walk without flying.
“P-pl-please be a little gentle…with the tugging…?”
“Erk, Ark.”
“I-if that’s…okay with you…”
Eventually, at Ponyville’s Marketplace…
It was sort of painful, but Fluttershy have managed to reenter the small town of pony society. She figured the fastest way to reach the Golden Oak Library was to cut through the busy streets of the Marketplace. Normally, the timid mare will avoid a crowed of ponies that gather in one place, mainly due to her shyness, her slight claustrophobia, and the fear that somepony might sneakily rob her blind by bumping into her. Very unlikely, she should know better since the chances of criminal activity in a happy-go-lucky place such as Ponyville was immeasurably low.
Yes, Ponyville is perfect.
However, that’s not the case. Not even close. It may have something more related to the fact that she has a little creature thing attach to her mane, like a monkey to its mother and refuses to let go. It also may have something to do with the amount of bystanders and onlookers who will definitely stare with soul piercing questionable glances and the strong possibility of rumors spreading around town.
Regardless, Fluttershy have already chosen her third ultimatum, and that was how disturbingly painful the never-ending yank of her brilliant pink mane and the constant stare down from the Shy Guy.
Those soulless eyeholes made a good dramatic effect…
Resigning her fate to whichever embarrassing outcome for the very near future, the yellow Pegasus slowly trotted her way through the marketplace, while trying to make herself invisible and curl into a small ball at the same time. The only results are delaying her time longer in the masses of pony crowed and getting her mane yanked.
Fluttershy took a daring glance around her. Yep. Various colorful eyes all targeted on her. How positively nerve-wrecking. Oh look, now they’re all whispering at one another. How positively nerve-wrecking. Hey, it’s Cranky “Donkey” Doodle, the grouchiest non-pony civilian in town who cares less about anything, is also giving her a weird look. How positively nerve-wrecking. Whatta-ya know, those Changelings over there, whose pony disguises broke do to immense laughter, are now laughing at her predicament and are entirely ignored by everypony. How positively nerve-wrecking.
“Please, Bon Bon, please!” Fluttershy heard the nearby voice of a minty green Unicorn mare begging aloud like a little foal. “It looks so human-like! It’s just a quick peek, I promise!”
“No, Lyra. Now let’s get going.” Declared the tan colored Earth pony mare, casually dragging her roommate by the tail away from her b-line towards the Shy Guy.
Lyra desperately and vainly scrapes the ground, only to be easily overpowered and eventually was taken from sight. She never made another appearance in this story again, due to her status as comical gag material for just this one scene, therefore, making her unimportant. She cried out in despair.
Fluttershy decided now it was the time to pick up the pace and seek out her friends help. The masked robbed creature’s obsessive tugging isn’t getting any more comfortable.
=====================================
Finally, the pair has reached their destination, The Golden Oak Library. In all of its glory with many of its-- figuratively speaking-- branches of knowledge that contains almost unlimited information within the interior of its boundaries.
“Erk. Ark.” The Shy Guy, whether its signature yanking suggest an implement for impatient or just its usual ministration for the sake of doing so, was beyond Fluttershy’s lack of understanding of the un-understandable indication.
Quite strange for a pony who’s special talent to communicate with animals like some sort of Doctor. Dolittle.
“It-it’s okay, little fella’…” she stammer softly. “My fr-friend, Twilight, can help resolve the issue. If there’s anypony out there who has the answer, I can always count on Twilight for--“
“Erk.”
Fluttershy winced. “O-o-okay….lets g-get inside then…”
The butter yellow Pegasus approach and knock on the wooden doorframe with the intensity of a dying fly ramming into it. Each attempt to acknowledge the presence of somepony waiting outside their home became progressively stronger as for each yank from the Shy Guy, thus giving the timid mare the strength to knock harder. Harder she knocks indeed, from gentle breeze of a wind to jackhammer madmare.
Twilight Sparkle was very fortunate that she doesn’t have to pay a visit to the hospital today, seeing as she was one hoof rush away from the impending libraries front door flew from its position and crashed into a wall, leaving spider web-like cracks behind it. With wide eyes and shrunk pupils, she gradually shifted her sights on the familiar and unfamiliar couple standing at the newly opened entrance.
Fluttershy, meek as she was, lowered her head and hid her face behind whatever is left of her unattended pink mane….which wasn’t very much. “Tw-tw-twilight….h-hello…” She greeted, visibly shaken, eyes directed on the dirt ground, “C-c-can I….c-can I…I come in….i-in for a…a bit…? …i-if that’s…if that’s o-okay…I mean….”
The lavender Unicorn couldn’t get upset at such a display. Not that she could, not to Fluttershy. Maybe if it was somepony else, but not her. She’ll likely die from merely a panic attack only, if not anything else significantly worse. It almost happened a few times.
“Sure! It’s great to see you, Fluttershy!” Twilight put on her best welcoming smile and gesture for her friend to come in. She was still questionable about the red robe hoodie and masked wearing being clinging to her mane, but decided to wait it out for a little bit longer. “Oh, and don’t worry about the door.” She stated nonchalantly as the timid mare quickly trotted inside. Using her magic, the lavender Unicorn pulled it from its resting place and put it back into its proper position, fixing it with ease. “Good as new.” Twilight proclaimed before turning to face Fluttershy and the Shy Guy. She didn’t have to put two-and-two together to figure out that something is wrong and clearly the yellow Pegasus needed help. However, to avoid jumping into speculation that was clearer than water, and wanting to keep her friend at ease, Twilight Sparkle sought to start things slow…
That went was well as crafting a horseshoe out of jello pudding, as freakin’ Rainbow Dash burst through one of the libraries windows, scattering broken glass shards everywhere. The multi-color mane Pegasus mare shook of the large chunks of glass and wood splinters probing out of her mane and back. Fluttershy, once again, tried to appear smaller than the naked eye as her longtime friend casually approach with a huge grinned, ecstatic body language, oh, and the minor injuries from her grand appearance.
“Fluttershy! Is it true?!” Rainbow Dash asked gleefully, completely ignoring the livid Unicorn glaring behind her. She didn’t give the timid mare a chance to speak as she threw her head at the Shy Guy in front of her. “Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, it IS true! Everypony in town was right!” the sky-blue Pegasus exaggerated.
Twilight, after finishing her repairs on another broken piece of foundation-- because magic-- placed herself in the unexpected intrusion of her friends blabbering. “Everypony in town is right about what?”
“Everypony is talking about Fluttershy and--” Rainbow Dash abruptly stopped her own sentence and stole a quick glance at the masked creature. “--um…this, ummmm, this….--whatever it is, following her around!”
Before Twilight can question further on the subject, a loud ”HIYAAAA” alarming screech from outside her door before an even louder ‘BANG’, follow by the wooden door flying off its hinges and smashed on the ground in a broken pile of pieces.
Twilight’s rage was far greater than the Hulk and more intense than Celestia’s sun as she painfully grinded her teeth as her mane and tail burst into flames, and her purple coat and cutie mark faded away into pure ivory. Her eyes turned bright red to showcase the amount of embodied wrath flowing through her as she stood there, facing in the direction where the door once stood.
All of this went deliberately overlooked as Rarity quickly dropped her martial arts stance, hurried past the raging Unicorn and embraced Fluttershy as if she was in a coma, weeping loudly and dramatically as always.
“Oh darling! Oh goodness, darling! Darling, Fluttershy, my goodness! Oh goodness!” Rarity was practically chocking her butter yellow friend, squeezing both forehooves around her neck and as such blocking her airway. “I! Heard! Everything! Everypony was talking about it and it spread all over town! Once I heard enough, I rushed over here as quickly as possible-- right after my 1 O’ clock spa appointment-- to see for myself!” At that point, the alabaster Unicorn mare shifted her eyes at the red robbed figure standing next to her.
She then proceeded to do what she always does best. Rarity gasped dramatically, place a hoof on her forehead dramatically, and for the big finisher; she leap backwards, summoned her ‘emergency’ faint cushion sofa out of nowhere, and landed perfectly on it with her head on the edge laying on her back, Dramatically.
Such appeal and elegance earn her a 10/10 perfection.
After regaining as much self control over herself as possible, Twilight’s form and colors returned to normal. She threw her attention away from the decease door and instead focuses on her friends. “What the hay is going on?” Twilight demanded, still a ping of fury in her voice. “What is all of Ponyville’s gossiping have to do with Fluttershy and that red masked thing? Why is it a big deal?”
Rainbow Dash, who hasn’t kept her gawking eyes off the Shy Guy ever since she arrived, managed to tear her view away and directed them on the questioning lavender mare, speculated from what she inquired. “You mean you don’t know?”
“No!” Twilight shouted out of frustration. If there’s one thing Twilight hates more than anything it’s when her friends knowledge-block her...and delayed friendship reports…and getting disturb from her reading…and-- “Just tell me already!”
“Okay, okay, okay!” The sky-blue Pegasus had to will herself to suppress her giggles of exhilaration. “The big talk all over town was abouuuut….”
“…yessss?” Twilight leaned a little closer out of curiosity.
“About Fluttershhhyyyyy…”
“Uh huuuuh?”
“Having aaaaaa….”
“Yeeaaaah?”
“Aaaaa--”
“Yeaah!
“Aaaa--“
“Yes!”
“AAAA--“
“OUT WITH IT!!!”
“A LOVE CHILD!” Rainbow Dash couldn’t contain it anymore. She laughed, wholeheartedly, and fell on her back with her legs flailing.
Twilight fell flat on her face. The reason why may have to do with these two possibilities. 1; the sheer revelation of the delayed anticipated answer struck her like a stack of bricks. 2; she leaned in so far on her tippy-hooves she simply lost balance. Probably both.
Rarity continues to do whatever she was doing….DRAMATICALLY.
However, none of these three pony’s reactions will ever come close to the timid mare’s response on that disclosure.
“WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!!!!”
Fluttershy’s bellowed was not only ear piercing loud, but it also made Princess Luna’s Royal Canterlot Voice™ sounded like it was mere foalsplay. Every window and glass object from the Golden Oak Library shattered into tiny snowflake pieces. Luckily there aren’t any little colts and fillies nearby to confuse the sparkling white and clear imitations to roll around in.
After hearing the sounds of colors and seeing fragrances of smells-- yes, this is possible under such condition-- the three mares made a quick recovery from their unusual experience and stare at their loud vocal friend. The not-so meek Pegasus stood up straight in full height, taking slow deep breaths while staring straight ahead with bloodshot widen eyes, her left slightly twitches. Her yellow fur stood on ends and her wings flare wide in some sort of intimidating way. In a since, Fluttershy looks as if she has gone insane…which, really, wouldn’t be much of a surprise from what she just heard.
…oh, and the Shy Guy is still there yanking her mane ever so often but nopony cares enough to acknowledge.
“Geez, can you be any louder?” chided the multi-color mare, still rubbing her sensitive ears. “I’m still using these you know.”
“For what purpose, Rainbow Dash?” Countered Rarity, while she simultaneously brushed her curly mane back into place. “Correct me if I’m wrong, darling, but aren’t you incapable of listening?”
Rainbow Dash shot the fashionista pony an un-amuse glare. “At least I don’t have ‘dirt phobia’ and go all crazy from the slightest sight of stains.”
“I’ll have you know that I worked hard on keeping my home and myself in perfect condition every day, and take great pride into it thank you very much!” Rarity retorted. “Besides, I’m not that paranoid…”
To prove her point, Rainbow Dash kicked a small chunk of broken door wood, which bounced harmlessly upon contact on the conflicting mare’s hoof. Rarity eyes widen and made silent long gasps as she notices the teensiest of impossibly unnoticeable dab of dirt on the her front leg. The sky-blue mare had her trollface on.
Before the enraged alabaster color Unicorn can give Rainbow Dash a taste of her ‘Crouching Ursa and Hidden Phoenix’, Twilight Sparkle briskly stepped in to remind them something of upmost importance.
“If anything else in this library breaks because of you two, I’m going to force you both into debt.” Twilight spoke in a low dark tune. This caused both mares to stop and stare flabbergasted at their irritated friend. “Oh, believe me, it will happen. Both of your flanks will be mine.”
“…couldn’t you just fix it with your magic?” Rainbow Dash then shied away from the burning glare from the lavender Unicorn. “N-never mind…”
Silence…
Twilight placed a hoof on her chin in thought. She could have sworn she was doing something before all of this madness started. But what? If only she coul--
“Eep!”
Fluttershy! Almost forgotten! Of course! Right! Okay then! ...so yeah…
The three awkwardly quiet mares threw their attention back on the butter yellow Pegasus. She’s now somewhat normally timid again, the Shy Guy very well attracted to her pink mane for reasons unclear. She’ll vaguely wince from each tug.
Twilight got a closer look at the red robbed and masked wearing being, briefly studying its appearance and comparing them to Fluttershy. She ended up with errors. Lots and lots of errors. “Why and how exactly did the whole town assume Fluttershy adopted this thing as her own? It’s not even a pony.” The whole scenario sounded absolutely redundant to her.
“I really don’t know, but it sounded so hilarious.” Rainbow Dash replied, failing badly to keep her sniggering in check.
“B-but I didn’t-- Hagh!-- I didn’t take it-- Owie!-- t-take it i-in as-- Ouch!-- as a love child…” The mane abused Pegasus declared through each tug.
“Regardless, darling, it still doesn’t explain why it’s so infatuated with your mane.” Rarity added. “A mutual connection, perhaps?”
“Maybe it likes the color pink.” Rainbow Dash recommends, watching the Shy Guy go to town on the pulling and yanking. “…really, really likes pink.”
“Speaking of ‘pink’” the lavender mare began after a realization. “Where is Pinkie Pie, and furthermore, what happen to Applejack?”
“Oh, uhhhh” the sky-blue Pegasus started to go through her memory files. “Pinkie went on another date with that Pokey Pierce guy, said something about a cave and giant Plesiosaur--“ Rainbow Dashed shrugged. “I kind’a stopped listing. As for Applejack…”
Somewhere out in the Ocean…
The whole Apple Family that includes Applejack, Big Mac, Granny Smith, and Apple Bloom along with her friends Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle, found themselves corner on a rickety worn out Pirate ship in the middle of the open sea in a raging storm. The ship’s crewmates of rogue ponies slowly closed in on them, armed with rusty swords, crowbars, and hammers.
Applejack turned her attention to her little sister. “Ya’ll care tah explained how tryin’ tah earn ah ‘Fishing Badge Creatin’ cutie mark led tah dis?”
Applebloom just merely shrugged.
Back at the Golden Oak Library…
“…I have no idea.” She concluded.
“Oh. Well anyways,” Twilight then deadpanned. This conspiracy about her friend adopting…this thing, like a foal was, again, redundant. “I can’t comprehend on how utterly obscured this fiasco has gone. But for now, let’s try and separate these two.”
“Alright, I got this.” Volunteer the multi-color Pegasus.
“W-what are-- Ah!-- are y-you going to-- Ow!-- going to do Ra-rainbow…?” Fluttershy quietly asked.
“Oh it’s simple. I’m gonn’a grab hold this little guy and fly as fast and as high as possible. Meanwhile, you’ll just steady your ground and stay put. He’ll eventually let go and you’ll be free! Now is that genius or what?”
Fluttershy was horrified. If Rainbow Dash pulls the Shy Guy at that rate with its iron grip attach, it will be the end of her! It will be, undoubtedly, immensely, unbearably, painful. “NOOOOOOOOOOO!” Her voiced boomed which caused her Pegasus friend to jump backwards from startle. Both Unicorn mares flinched from the unexpected shout. The Shy Guy didn’t given let up.
Twilight Sparkle managed to shake the initial shock away. “O-okay….um….Oh, I know! I’ll just teleport it away. Doesn’t that sound a lot comfortable?”
This idea put the timid mare more at ease. “Y-yes…th-that sounds nice, actually…”
“Okay, I’m casting the spell now.” Right after she said that her horn lite up with a soft magenta glow. The masked wearing creature was surrounded by the same color glow as Twilight focuses her magic to manipulate its entire figure. With a ‘wink’ it was gone.
“Marvelous thinking, darling.” Rarity complimented. She then turned her head towards the Pegasus mare next to her. “Much better than Dashy’s idea.”
Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes. She would have done more, but Twilight’s earlier warning put her on edge. Seriously, she saw a crazed pony in those eyes…
“Really, it was nothing of it.” The lavender mare replied, waving off the flattery. “So, how are you feeling, Fluttershy?”
Flutterhy’s mood was rapidly changing more positive. “Well…I…I feel...I feel…” Before she can finish, and to her and her friend’s great surprise, the Shy Guy quickly ran through the opened library entrance and immediately clamp on her mane with an ‘Erk’. Fluttershy’s mood was rapidly changing more negative “….miserable…Eep!”
“Uhh…Twilight, where did you even send it?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“I relocated it out of town…” Twilight answered, contemplating on how the bi-pedal robbed being returned within a matter of seconds. “I will just try again.” Once again her horn glow magenta and so did the Shy Guy. The spell was cast and it was ‘winked’ away. “There, no we don’t have to--“ The Shy Guy rushed through the entry way and held unto Fluttershy’s pink mane. “What?! That’s impossible! I teleported it deep within the Everfree Forest!” Twilight shouted out of disbelief.
“How about someplace that’s even further away?” the sky-blue mare suggested. “Someplace that’ll take days of walking to get back!”
Twilight can only think of one possible place. With quick fluid motions she teleported the menacing robbed creature far, far away. “Hah! Now let’s see it try getting back all the way from the Crystal Empire. Since our little friend has no wing spans what-so-ever, it’ll take precisely 5 Days, 7 Hours, 43 Minutes and 27 Seconds to return on foot! Even by train it’ll still take a day or so. Either way, will be set and ready for its arrival!“ Twilight let out a dark chuckle, which then form into mad laughter.
All three of her friends took a single step backwards, staring at her.
The clearly psychotic mare’s victory laugh died away from the sudden minor tremors that quickly evolved into full blown earthquakes. Before either of them can questioned what’s happening, the sound of a train’s whistle went off. The whistle was ridiculously close. Right then and there, throwing the mares off to the side, a train crashed right into the large tree house. Surprisingly, the large locomotive didn’t go through the wall…but something else did. It was their ‘thought to be long lost’ friend Shy Guy, who crashed through the wall leaving his shape and form opening as he pass. He quickly latches onto his favorite mane.
“Erk.” The Shy Guy grunted, giving the pink mane a nice welcoming yank. “Erk, Ark.”
Twilight screamed out of pure aggravation and incredulity when she went outside and saw the size of the train logged into her library home. It was huge. She went back inside and then proceeded to bash her head on the bookshelves multiple times, causing books of varies sizes to fall on her noggin, only adding more fuel to the fire as she didn’t even stop.
It was plaguing her knowledge on common sense and reality. Whatever that mask creature thing is, it has the logic breaking nonsense ability, just like Pinkie Pie. Twilight can accept the non-existing fact about Pinkie Pie’s brand of logic breaking nonsense. Only hers, NOT BOTH!
“Man, this thing just can’t enough of your mane, Flutters.” Stated Rainbow Dash.
“As I said earlier, a possible mutual connect between you two.” Rarity reminded. “It’s…sort of adorable, if I say so myself.”
“But…but, it’s not my adopted c-child a-and…and I hope it will s-s-stop pulling my m-mane soon…” the timid mare stuttered normally. The pain on her head was starting to replace itself with numbness.
Both Pegasus and Unicorn mares on standby looked over at Twilight for further instructions or an answer. The rhythm noises of head on shelve and books on head continue in its unique melody. So it’s now generally up to them to help their friend.
“Wait, I got it!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed and turned to Rarity. “So, this little guy here likes manes, right?”
“That would seem to be the case.”
“Well, Rares, you have the most stylish mane among us! Let that masked dude grab a hold of yours for a bit.”
The fashionista mare eyes bulged from the mere thought alone. She shook her head rapidly. “Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no! I would die if such a filthy creature lays its grimy mitts on my beautiful mane! Have you no idea how long it takes me to get its curls to flex so vibrantly?! No. No, sorry, it’s out of the question! Besides, top quality manes are in this month.”
“Pfft, and your suppose to be the Element of Generosity.” The Pegasus teased.
“Speak for yourself, darling. What Loyalty lies within somepony that deliberately allow others to sacrifice themselves for their own sake, hm?” she smugly countered back.
Rainbow Dash wanted to say something. Anything. After several attempts she can’t deliver a well placed argument. Rarity does have a point…she hates to admit it. She thought about what it’s like to fly around with the masked robbed being dangling by her mane. She took a glance at Fluttershy. She visibly shuttered on how her neck was forcibly crane from each tug. Surely that’ll leave some visible marks.
Twilight Sparkle finally rejoined the group after she was finished with her musical instruments of shelves and books. There are no proper words in any dictionary to describe how a complete wreck Twilight is right now. Her mane and tail are frazzled. Her once beautiful coat is now dirty, matted with sweat, and sticking on ends. Her eye pupils are intensely focused on the Shy Guy and she has a wicked grinned on her abused face. Her mind was corrupted and her thoughts ran a mile per second. She mused over the many possibilities to use the Shy Guy for ‘scientific’ purposes. Seeing what makes it tick. If she can’t get the logic breaking answers from her party loving pink friend, the masked creature will be the next perfect subject…
Just then, Rainbow Dash was struck with another idea. “Okay, how about this instead.”
Meanwhile…
Outside on the streets of Ponyville, Spike was whistling a merry tune to himself, eyes momentarily closed as he strolled down the block. He headed straight for the Golden Oak Library. Once he reaches the large treehouses front entry, the huge locomotive machine ignored, Spike stopped his whistling as he peered inside.
It was quite a sight for the baby dragon to witness. From his point-of-view he saw all four of his friends in such a unique display. Rainbow Dash and his secret crush, Rarity, are what appear to be presenting themselves to Fluttershy and a masked whatever thing. And as for Twilight, she just sat there, grinning as she watches.
“Whatt’a ya think of this, huh?” said Raindow Dash, shaking her tail while looking back.
“But mine is far more exquisite, don’t you think?”, Rarity proclaimed, trying to obtain more attention.
“Yeeeeesssssssss…” Twilight absentmindedly muttered aloud.
Spike has one hell of a pokerface when he promptly turned around and left.
“Guh, this isn’t working.” Rainbow Dash sighed, ceasing her attempt. “I thought for sure the little dude will grab our tails instead. Way better than getting your hair pullout.”
“Oh darling, I hate to say it, but perhaps the town folks were on to something with that rumored.” Said Rarity. “The little darling is quite attached to you.”
“It’s really diggin’ your mane Flutters.”
The meek Pegasus mare looked down dishearten, thinking she’ll have to live the rest of her days getting her hair abused by the masked robbed being.
Rarity noticed how miserable her ‘spa time partner’ was becoming. She had a solution earlier ago, but it was so risky, so vile, so terribly frightening that she didn’t bring it up. But now…now desperate times calls for desperate measures. For Fluttershy’s sake.
The alabaster mare took a steady deep breath before approaching the butter yellow Pegasus to announce her proposal. “Fluttershy…darling, I may have a possible solution to your problem.” She stated in a mixed caring and worried tune of voice. “I…I’m not very fond to do this, but I care about you more-so to try anything.” Out of nowhere, the Unicorn mare pulls out a pair of clippers to show her friends. She took another deep breath before continuing. “I’m going…I’m going to c-c-cut your….cut your mane.” Rarity finally proclaimed in fearful, dramatic, revelation.
“Oh. Okay…” Fluttershy agreed in bit more buoyant tune.
The fashionista mare nodded. She used her levitation magic to grip the small scissor and held it in place of Fluttershy’s mane and the Shy Guy. “Now remember, darling, this is me showing that I care.”
“Okay…” Fluttershy repeated.
“I can understand if you’re scared, darling. A mare’s mane is her own best friend after all. It’s the most precious part of her character, her whole being, her soul.”
“Okay…”
“I-it’s going to h-hurt me more than it is to you. That’s how m-much I care…”
“Okay…”
“If you wish for me to cease, now will be the time to say so. I’m go-going to c-c-cut it o-off.”
“Okay…”
“Y-yes…alright then…g-going to start c-cutting…”
“Okay…”
“Your finally chance to…to say no. It’s going to take w-weeks to grow back. Maybe even months.”
“Okay…”
“Just a few snips here and there….and everywhere…”
“Okay…”
“Anytime at all, if you--“
“OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!” With a shout, Rainbow Dash quickly snatched the clippers away from Rarity and cut the long flow of pink mane off completely in one fluid motion.
Rarity gasped aloud. Her eyes rolled to the back of her and she passed out, right then and there on the floor. Turns out this was real…for once.
Fluttershy has her mane unevenly cut off, making the base stubby with some spilt ends. She looked at the Shy Guy, seeing it standing there staring at the long lock of pink hair in its stub grip. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the Shy Guy switched his observation from the cut object of his apparent affection at the timid mare. It stares at her, and she stares back in awkward silence.
“….Erk.” With a single nodded grunt, the masked robbed being made a full 360-- and yes, you read that right-- and scurried pass the yellow Pegasus. It made another new exit for the barely withholding library, leaving without another word.
Rainbow Dash, and a now conscious Rarity, joined Fluttershy’s side as all three of them watched the little creature disappear in the distance within seconds.
“…so…what, that’s it…?” Rainbow Dash slowly asked, still piecing together the events that led to this dynamitic climax. “After all we did, we just have to simply give it some of Fluttershy’s mane? Then, just like that, it’ll leave? And nothing else?!” Her voice was getting angrier and angrier from each question, until she couldn’t handle it anymore and went over to a nearby desk and flipped it over. “WHAT A RIP OFF!”
“All’s well that ends well, as the old saying goes, Rainbow dear.” Said the alabaster Unicorn, brushing her mane to perfection. She stopped mid-brush once she noticed the downcast expression on her friend, Fluttershy’s face. “Darling, what seems to be the problem? I thought you’ll be happier now that wild beast left you alone.”
Fluttershy lifted her head up to acknowledge the mare. “N-no, it’s not that…it’s just…” She took a deep breath before continuing. “…it’s just that I’m suddenly going to miss it. I…I can’t explain why, but it feels as if the little fella’ really is my child. Maybe I’m going crazy…b-but it felt like I have let go apart of myself…”
The timid mare couldn’t help but think back in a cheesy cheap montage flashback, complete with sad back music about her time with the Shy Guy. About how they first met, about how the Shy Guy will tug on her mane, about when she’ll wince in pain for each tug, about how the red robbed being will give her ‘The Stare’, about when they both bounce happily through a meadow of flowers, about how she tried to fed the Shy Guy by pretending the spoon is an airplane but it refuses to eat, and about when they both slept soundly in the same bed.
…apparently, Fluttershy is having some delusional problems.
“Oh, darling. You poor thing, I’m so sorry to hear that.” Rarity gave Fluttershy the best comforting hug she can provide. She proceeded to lead the Pegasus mare towards the front exit. “I know what might help cheer you up. A nice helping spa treatment, wouldn’t you say? It will be on me, darling! Also, I’m very certain the Spa Sisters can make arrangements with that nasty clipping of your hair. After all, short manes are in this month…”
Rarity’s voice eventually became distance as they both left the library, leaving Rainbow Dash and a crazed looking Twilight Sparkle to themselves.
Rainbow Dash sighed in disappointment. “Man, I felt so ripped off! As if all that hard work I did, and for what? Nothing out of it! What do you think, Twilight? …Twilight?” She then turned to face the lavender Unicorn. She was now staring at the newly shaped Shy Guy hole in the wall, as well as all of the other damages on her home. Nostrils’ flaring heatedly, a huge toothy grin on her face, a nonstop twitching eye, and her body visibly shaking uncontrollably, Twilight Sparkle looks as if she is due to exploded and second. Rainbow Dash eyed the maniac pony carefully as she backed away. Just in time as Twilight’s brain couldn’t handle the pressure.
Let’s just say Twilight is going to need a place to stay for a while…
===============================
Elsewhere; in Another Dimension…
The Shy Guy, locks of pink flowing pony hair in hand, approach a large figure wearing a crown, a pendant, and a big cape that is currently hidden in the shadows. The surrounding area resembles some type of dungeon, with the ground pavement and roofing made out of solid red, green, and blue blocks. There are tall troches that are lite, barely making the whole room anymore brighter, and floating above in mid-air with no real means or purpose to explain how or why are several brown mask’s, each baring a menacing smile.
Right below the masks is some type of machine with three funnels on top of its rectangular form.
The Shy Guy then bows his head to the figure. “Master.” Announced the masked robbed creature. “Mission accomplished. Target was sighted, and confiscating the data object was a success.”
The Shy Guy, with his head still bowed, held the pink strains of pony mane up towards the silhouetted being. Stepping out of the shadows, the large figure reveals itself as a giant, green frog with claws and a white pot belly.
It was Wart, the King of Nightmares!
“I am the great Wart! Bah, Ha, ha!” Bellow aloud Wart, announcing his name in such a loud tune of voice for whatever purpose. He looked down and grabs hold of the long pink mane. He smirked evilly as he inserted the bundle of mane into his Nightmare Machine, making copious amount of Shy Guys in a variety of colors and sizes, and as well as other nightmarish creatures, only adding more forces to his army, the ‘8 Bits’. “Now I and finally rule all of Subcon with an iron fist! Bah, Ha, Ha, Ha!”
Unbeknownst to Fluttershy, her last statement couldn’t be any more truthful. The truth about her real origins. A very long time ago, Wart wanted to create the ‘perfect monster’ that can spawn and create Shy Guys on a whim. The processing stage was nearing completion, a glob of butter yellowish and pink colors that squirms ever so often. But then, an unpredictable accident occurred, making the giant frog’s machinery go haywire, causing minor implosions. The ‘perfect monster’ glob, nearly completed, was accidentally sent into another dimension because of the many interruptions of the malfunction of his Nightmare Machine.
Wart was quick to act, force to power-down his machine and delay his progress of invasion, but instead spent the time searching and locating the whereabouts of his creation. Finally, after a long search, Wart settle upon a world filled with techno-color horses. To his great dismay and absolute disbelief, he discovered that his ‘perfect monster’, during its glob stage, has somehow ended up in the belly of a Pegasus mare, manipulating the pony’s DNA into its own. In short terms of words, the mare ending up going ‘Teen Pregers’.
Majorly facepalming on the revelation of the possibilities, Wart has no choice but to wait for his ‘perfect monster’ to be born. However, because it wasn’t completed during its final stage and the fact that it took on new life DNA, the King of Nightmares has to extract the spawning data from its hair when it becomes of mature age.
So, the giant frog waited….and waited….and waited some more….and continues to wait, all invasion and domination plans on hold. At some point, he learn to spit bubbles out of his mouth, and, for some stupid reason, he thought his new trick will be a nice attack for conquest.
After many long years of eating cheesy puffs and drinking cola, his ‘perfect monster’, unfit for combat now that it’s ‘not so perfect’, was ready for harvest. So, that’s why he sent his fateful servant, Shy Guy, to retrieve the specimen’s hair.
So now you know where, head-canon wise, Fluttershy’s origin lies. I mean, if you think about it, she’s practically the only pony within the Mane Six to not have a family mention. That’s just crazy.
With Wart’s Nightmare Machine up and running again, his 8 Bit army massing in numbers, his generals all set and ready, he unleashed his forces upon the dream world of Subcon, many inhabitants’ submitting into his rule. It was a glories day for many eons to come for King Wart.
…but then, he got his ASS kicked by two Italian plumbers, a little mushroom man, and a princess who seriously needs to start investing into some high quality security.
Wart was never heard from again.
THE END
