The reason was, he went to go to the everfree forest to investigate some disturbances in a certain area... and it has been 2 years since his "death". The police were in such a racket about how all the pony's where trying to send them to find them, even though his "death" was confirmed 2 years ago, the citizens still wanted there Daniel back. The police were getting so agitated, they went to go investigate where Daniel went to go investigate. +----(3 years back)----+ "A-a-are you sure you want to go into there Daniel???" Fluttershy said. "Ah, what's the worst that can happen Fluttershy? I mean it's just a little disturbance there, what's the worst that can happen?" Daniel said. "It's just... I am worried about your safety! i don't want anypony to get hurt!" "trust me, Fluttershy... nothing is going to go wrong!" boy, was Daniel wrong. "o-ok... if you say so...." +----(present time)---+ "yuck, what is this stuff?!?" police officer Rango said. Rango, an earth pony with an attitude. He was a tough, athletic, pony. With a brown mane, matching tail. His cutie mark was an investigation file."Calm down Rango, there is probably worse up ahead. So just shut up..." police officer, Frank said. Frank, just a regular pegasi officer. he had black hair, with blue streaks in it, matching tail, except it was blue, with black highlights, he had a book as a cutie mark, representing he was good at literature, and encoding stuff. It was 5:00 am, it was as dark, but... the faint glow of the morning sun seeped through some of the tree's. Where the two officers were going was not a pretty sight... there was red goo everywhere... on the trees, the everfree floor, none of the two officers have seen anything like this. "agh! dammit!" Rango said."Whats wrong!" Frank said. "I think I'm hurt!" "Where?!? I have a first aid in my satchel" Rango pointed to his leg... it was covered in blood, like something stabbed it with a jagged dagger. It was so gruesome, that not even the care of any top notch doctor could fix it fast. Rango would have to get back to the police station and let them take care of it, but they could not go, they were so close to the "murder" site... and even if they wanted to go, it would take forever, plus, there is not a hospital nearby, within miles. So they kept going forth. Frank got some gauss tape, cotton balls, and a sturdy stick to keep Rangos' leg from falling off(not literally). Kinda like a temporary cast. It has been about a half an hour since the incident, and Rango is fine, well enough to walk. His leg was healing at an abnormal speed somehow, but that stop soon after about 20 minutes after the incident. Rango still felt pain, but it was bearable. The farther they went, the more "red goo" there was, and also a awful smell started to erupt in the forest. The smell was indescribable... if I were to put it in words, I would say it smelled like rotten corpses wrapped in freshly peeled onions, then, with another layer of vomit, then thrown into a sewage tank, left there for days, then brought back and thrown into a barrel full of rotten fish. yep, that basically explains it! About a passing out earth pony and falling face first in to a tree later, they both saw it... they saw that castle that has been in the rumors, the rumors about the monsters... of course, none of those two believed that it actually existed. but that did not catch their eye, what did catch it, was all the dead-almost rotten to the bone-corpses that littered the ground in front of the castle, some of the corpses, weren't even corpses, they were like, deformed ponies or something, surprisingly, none of these ponies where pegasi nor unicorns. The deformed ponies though, they had... well, they didn't even have mouths! their jaws were gone, and their lips were torn apart, and stretched all the way down to the bottom of their necks... they only had their upper row of teeth, but just barely... they only had their molars for the downward row of teeth. their hooves were bloody, and stained... they had claw like stub's on their hooves, probably sharp enough to tear living flesh apart without ease. Frank then started to expertly vomit in the most fashionable way... on Rango. "Dude! What the hell!" Rango then said, wiping the bile off of him. "Sorry, didn't know you were standing right the- *blargh*" again, Frank vomited, but this time, not on Rango. Rango backed up, and tried to comfort his partner... he almost began to vomit to, but held the urge back... he didn't want his breakfast to be gone. it was about 5 minutes later, they heard something coming from the entrance. the figure that come from the two doors leading inside the castle was covered in blood and dirt. the pony, had a rose as a cutie mark, and right under it, had three, deep-ish, sratches, looked like it came from one of those horrific monsters that laid sprawled out in front of the entrance to the castle. But the officers did not see this because it was intensely fogged up in the area. This pony saw the two shadows in the fog, so did the officers. The pony walked up to the two officers slowly, but quick hooved. The officers were shocked, they were even scared, scared so much, that they were petrified. As soon as they saw who it was, they both almost fainted right there and then. The pony, was Daniel Schwartz. The pony that was seemingly missing for two years, was standing literally in front of them. Daniel was in great surprised, he never thought he would see another living pony at all! He was stuck in that awful castle for two years, trying to find a way out, for he was stuck, underground. They were all speechless for about 10 minutes, just staring, and occasionally, looking at the monsters, for they thought they were alive, but that was just their minds playing tricks. "W-w-why are you t-two.. here?!" Daniel said, in a voice that said 'I am hurt really badly, and afraid'. "W-we both were l-looking for you b-because all of t-the ponies still thought you w-were alive!" Rango said. "Well, if you two are even real... we need to get out of here as fast as we can, and not stay a second longer" Daniel said in his still hurt and hoarse voice. "Wait, what do you mean if were re-" Rango got interrupted by a loud gurgle and moaning sound coming from his left side. A monstrous looking pony started to get up and limp it's way towards the three stallions. "That's why" Daniel said that like it was a normal thing for him. The two officers and Daniel started to run, almost faster then rainbow dash. +----(about six hours later)----+ "So that is all I want to say, doctor Staggenjack." Daniel said. "Please, just call me Jack, And thank you for your time, Mr. Schwartz." Jack said. "doctor Stag, we got the diagnostics on Mr. Schwartz now." nurse Redheart said. "Ok, I will be there in a second Ms. Redheart" Jack said. Daniel, as you could tell, was in the ponyville hospital. His friends, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Vinyl Scratch were not there at the moment... the only friend there, was nurse Redheart, but she could not visit right now, for there was a nasty case of the wing flu going on. Jack walked in the room and said "Ok Daniel... I got good news, and bad news... the good news is, you are well enough to walk and run and eat and all the other daily stuff... the bad news is-" Daniel interrupted "I have severe wound infections, eternal injury's, mild food poisoning, and also head trauma. Yes yes, I know." the doctor stood with a look that said "how do you know all of that?!". Yes, surprisingly enough, I was well enough to walk, and then I went to go see my friends, that were already on there way towards me. Jack came out and asked, "Umm, Daniel... I wish to know more about your adventure into -- what you called -- the "brennenburg castle". Daniel looked both ways, like this was a top secret file that not even the highest class of authority could not look at, only princess Celestia could see herself. "Ok, but do not, i repeat: do not, let anypony get a hold of this, for there are the darkest secrets that the everfree held back three years ago. Do not even let the princess herself look at this, it even holds some medical mystery's and medical achievements... *whispering* I think i even found a cure for magical disease's." and at that, Daniel gave the doctor his diary/notebook that he  have had in his satchel. "I will not let anypony get a hold of this, I promise"  Jack said "pinkie pie swear?" Daniel said "what? oh, yes. cross my heart, hope to fly. stick a cupcake in my - ow - eye" Jack said The next day, Jack would see the secrets about this castle. Also about the deepest... darkest secret of the everfree... and also how hard it is to keep something secret from a young filly. //-------------------------------------------------------// Entry log: august 20th, 2*** //-------------------------------------------------------// Entry log: august 20th, 2*** Daniel Schwartz adventure log #1 August 20th, 2*** Today is the day... the day I am going to do it. I have contacted one of my most reliable friends, Fluttershy, to ask her if I could borrow one of her many lanterns from her, and she gladly said yes... but once I told her what it was for, she was starting to think that she shouldn't give it to me. I told her I would be alright. First thing is first though... I need to get some supplies before I head towards Fluttershys' cottage. So, the only things I need is, Food Water Oil A camera film(for camera) Ink and quill And of course, a satchel to carry all of this stuff. So now I head off to get all that stuff. After what seems to be 6 hours later, I now head over to Fluttershys' cottage to get the rest of the stuff that I need. The walk towards her house was, pretty eventful. First, I found a stray bag of 1,000 bits. 1,000 BITS! nopony looked like they were looking for it, so I took it.  Second, I saw a stray baby rabbit, so I took it, and brought it to fluttershy. Third, I saw my favorite flier in all of Equestria, Rainbow Dash, and we hung out a little bit, until she had to go place some clouds for some scheduled rain tonight. That talk with Dash wasted about an hour or two. I finally made it to Fluttershys' cottage, and just in time to, it started raining. I expected to have to persuade Fluttershy to give me the lantern... and I did. After about an hour of talking, she finally gave me the lantern, but it was raining outside, so I couldn't go out unless I wanted to be sick and wet and all my food getting rotten and spare paper getting wet either. So I asked if I could stay for tonight with Fluttershy. It took a while for a response, I don't know WHY Fluttershy took so long to respond, probably fluttershy being fluttershy... or is it because I'm a guy? I dunno. I really have no idea why she was so shy about that concept, I have spent the night before. But every single time I ask that question, she just hides behind her mane, she begins to blush severely, and all that other stuff. Anyways, this concludes day one of my "adventure"... not much adventure today at all. Anyways, Daniel signing out
