As Spike walked towards Sugar Cube Corner, he cuddles his beloved gift carefully. "Rarity is going to LOVE this!" he thought. He swooned over the many possibilities that might happen when She... the angel from heavens above, opens the present. The present that Spike wanted to give contained the silkiest silk in Equestria, spun by the monster Arachne. Only those brave enough to take the risk to retrieve it shall own it.
This took his life savings from odd jobs to buy it.
He was so lost in his fantasy, that he did not notice when the Cutie mark crusaders swooped pass him, spinning him around wildly and leaving him dazed. "Next time watch where you're going!!!" Spike yelled to the fading silhouettes of three fillies. He quickly checked the present for any damage. Nothing. He sighed in relief and got up, dusted the present and himself of with his claw, only to let two other fillies crash into him.
"Hey!" The filly with the pink coat spat out in disgust. She had a purple and white mane, with a tiara dangling from her left ear. Next to her, still in a daze, was another filly with glasses and a grey coat, along with a blue beaded necklace and a grey mane. Both of them had an arrogant look on their faces.
Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon
"Watch where you're going, you overgrown lizard!" Diamond spat out to Spike, who shot both of them a glare. "Who are you calling an overgrown lizard, you arrogant brat! Your dad spoilt you into the little rascal you are today." Spike retorted.
While Spike and Diamond Tiara were arguing, Silver Spoon quickly spotted to present Spike was carrying. She snatched it out of Spike's grasp before he could react.
'Ooo. A present. I bet it's super lame." Diamond commented as Silver Spoon handed it to her. "Hey!" Spike yelled. "Give it back! that's for Rarity only!". "Rarity?" Silver Spoon asked out of confusion. Diamond Tiara rolled her eyes. "Yeah, that Blank flank Smelly Bell's useless sister." She said.
"This present isn't going to get to anyone, you scaly toad. It now belongs to me." Diamond sneered as she placed it in her school satchel. This angered Spike so much that he smoke was steaming out of his nose. They giggled and galloped off, with Spike hot on their heels. They turned a sharp corner and disapeared.
"Oh crud." Spike looked around with anxiety all over his face. He collapsed onto his knees and yelled.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
"Hey Spike." Spike looked up in time to see the Cutie mark crusaders looking down on him. "We're sorry that we knocked you down. We were running away from Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon." Scootaloo explained to Spike. He immediately got up and asked "Where does Diamond Tiara live?" AppleBloom raised an eyebrow in suspicion. "She lives just round that corner, house 36. Why are you asking?" Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo nodded in agreement.
However, before they could reply, Spike shot off like a rocket towards Diamond Tiara's house. He knocked rapidly on the front door, only for Filthy Rich to open the door. "How may I help you, little one?" He asked with words of politeness, but his eyes told something else. "Your daughter stole my present for my friend's party!" Spike hollered in Mr.Filthy's face. His eyes widen in shock as he turned around. "Please wait a moment..."
"Where is Spikey-Wikey? I simply cannot start my party without him." The whole crowd groaned in protest to Rarity's comments. "Start the party!" An anonymous pony shouted out. "Its Spike's fault he's late!" "We've been waiting for an hour!" the ponies stamped their hooves in agreement.
"Oh Spike." Rarity wondered. "Come quick..."
"Here." Mr.Filthy said as he tossed Spike's crumpled present. "I should thank you for noticing me. Diamond Tiara is going to get grounded!" He spoke as Diamond flinched instinctively. "What is grounding?" Diamond shamelessly asked. "Oh, I think you would find out soon." Spike sneered as he waved goodbye.
Soon, he reached the library. Determined to get it rewrapped, he carefully placed the present onto the table and dashed upstairs to look for some wrappers. He soon fished out a wrapper that was white, decorated with pictures of sappers and fire rubies.
Perfect.
He ran down the stairs as fast as he could, tripping on the way, and falling down the rest. He quickly dusted himself off, and ran towards the present with the wrapper, tape and scissors, ready in his claws. However, he slipped, and fell down on a puddle. It smelled like...
"Pee?"
OWLICIOUS!
15 minutes later, Spike came downstairs (After taking a shower) with a new pair of scissors, tape, and wrapping paper, same as before. He quickly wrapped it up and taped it down, scribbling a happy birthday note to her. He then grabbed it and went out of the door.
He quickly ran to the Carousal Boutique, where there were faint shouts and noises. Too drunk in his own success, he had not heard the noise until he reached the door, when he thought he heard Opal yowling. He pushed that thought aside and pushed opened the door. To his horror, he saw total chaos.
It was a scene Discord himself would have been proud to make. There was broken shards of glass on the floor, Opal was cleaning herself because she was covered in punch. Everypony else was throwing slices of cake around. As he stared, Opal shook her fur violently, drenching punch all over Spike and his present.
The present was ruined.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!!!
Everypony froze as they stared at Spike, who was amazed at his own voice. He ignored the stares and trotted over to Rarity, who had a candle sticking to her left flank, and a cake smear on her right hoof, with her mane in a mess.
"Here you go, Rarity." Spike said as he passed the present to her. She opened it with her magic and her blue aura took out the silk. Everyone gasped.
"It's the silk!"
"How did he get it?"
"That thing is worth 2000 bits!!!"
"Spike, this is very generous of you." Rarity began. "But I have plenty of these. I get an endless supply from Canterlot, Sapphire Shores." With that comment, she opens a cupboard, revealing rolls and rolls of spider silk. "Plus, my friend, Arachnapony, also supplies me with his portion of silk when he was bitten by a radioactive Arachne."
"Yep." Spike whipped around, and stared at a brown pony... with eight hooves, eight eyes, and a large spider abdomen. Right before his eyes, he threaded together a piece of cloth similar to the one Spike has, except that it was cleaner and smoother.
Spike stares at her.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
