My Little Crazy Adventure
Starting Anew
Previous Chapter--------About an Hour From Where We Left Off--------
The group of Scion, Collete, and Joseph were currently partying in Ponyvile. Though everyone was still worried about their home, where they would stay to sleep.
"Hey Joseph." Scion said quietly, using to volume of the crowd to hide his own. "Do you have any plans for where we're staying tonight?"
Joseph didn't try to ponder too much about it, instead focusing on having a good time. Now faced with the question he took a look around to see if he could make arrangements. That's when he saw Celestia, idly standing near a punch bowl.
"I think I have an idea, wait here. I'll be right back."
Scion watched as Joseph approached the equine monarch. Even though he couldn't hear him, Scion knew Joseph was doing the exact same thing as the first time they met. He put that aside as they both approached.
"This is my pal Sonic, Gale is somewhere around here. We all have the same problem, we've nowhere to stay. We have been going from place to place for a while, but upon getting these." He gestured to his bracelet. "We knew we had to stay here, close to the other elements. So, what do ya say?"
Scion had turned over, Joseph had the smile that always left him uncertain. What he said was awful and awfully sudden. Scion prepared to speak, remembering how to within this pony realm.
"...Noble," He started hesitant, "You're making it sound like blackmail."
Joseph turned to Scion with a small amount of surprise.
"No not blackmail, just a proposition. We need to make arrangements for a permanent home near the others, for convenience. Besides with it we can focus on getting a job to pay for the home."
Turning back to Celestia Joseph concluded.
"Don't worry about it now. You have more important things on your mind. If you do make a decision on the matter though, just send a letter here. Well find a place to sleep for a while." With a smile and a nod Celestia went about her business. When Joseph was sure she was out of earshot he turned to Scion.
"Blackmail, really? Are you so against staying put that you had to go and say that?" He didn't look angry, no. He looked sad. Sad that his friend didn't want to have anything to do with this place, even with little other choice. To his it seemed that his friend was dead set on destroying any fun he planed to have while they were here.
"That's just the way it sounded," Scion came back coolly, hiding his true feelings.
With a sigh Joseph smiled. "It's fine, I recovered and got the message across. For now, let's find a place to stay for the next few...weeks maybe. And as much as I'd love to just let you sleep out in a field, you should consider bunking with someone. Especially with that around your neck." Joseph pointed to the necklace. "Speaking of, how's Eve holding up?"
"She's pulling through, not telling me much though." A frown curved his pony face, making it all the more unfitting, "I really hate having this greater meaning that I don't understand. I won't be able to survive heroics, especially with those guys in hoods..."
A bad memory only a few nights ago scared him. A singe in his hair, a scream from Eve...and his eyes again. What was he thinking then? Something strong enough to use magic. As unreal as it seemed, those burns were somewhere in this new form, added with the ones inside.
Joseph nudged his friend out of his thoughts. "Don't worry about it, for now think about who your going to bunk with. It might be good to be somewhere with distractions, to get your mind off out situation." He looked around before getting an idea. "How about Twilight, she lives in a library, she's Celestia's personal student, and she's the element of magic."
Putting a hoof to his chin Joseph thought about it a bit more. "Then again, AJ is really strong, plus she lives at Sweet Apple Acres. But RD is a pegasus, so you could get some flying lessons from the best flyer around, learning to fly quickly, and not face plant into the floor. So many options." Putting an arm around Scion he reassured "Think about it, we got time. For now, enjoy the party, you might make some new friends."
Joseph left Scion, becoming lost in the crowd of ponies.
--------A Few Hours Later--------
As the party was dying down, and only a few ponies remained to help clean up to mess, and wake up any ponies that may have passed out.
Scion was on a bench nearby as Joseph approached.
"So how was your party?" Joseph casually asked as he leaned back on the bench.
Scion wouldn't hold a gaze toward his perky friend. A ghostly heat seem to be wavering the air, Joseph looked at his eye's red fury. Suddenly Dead, like his look.
"It was...Something," He muttered.
Going back to his relaxed position Joseph replied. "I wouldn't expect any less, did you decide who you're going to ask?"
When he didn't answer Joseph continued. "If it helps, I already asked Pinkie, so that's taken out."
"Twilight," he said, his voice jumping, "I can't really decide so, I'll go with your first assumption,"
The options went around, and Scion easily removed some from his list, but that left 3 remaining. Best to take Joseph's opinion, whatever he based it on.
"Alright, now were getting somewhere!" Looking over to Twilight Joseph continued, "So do you want to ask, or should i?"
Not really knowing how to ask, and guessing the Joseph already had a way of asking he decided. "You can ask."
"Got it, be right back." Getting off the bench, Joseph walked up to Twilight. They were far enough away that their voices were barely audible. Scion strained to hear what they were saying.
"...Is why I'm asking, do you think you can let Sonic stay with you? Just for a little while." He couldn't see much of her face from where he was, but he could hear the answer, a little.
"...I suppose I do, it would be a way to get to know him. You can bring him over tonight, he'll have to sleep on the floor until I can get some guest beds."
On the floor in a home seemed better than on the floor on a potentially lethal field.
"...he shouldn't have any problems with that, I'll let him know, and thanks for helping out my best friend."
Scion couldn't here the reply, but could of guessed what it was. As Joseph returned Scion went back to his original position.
"Well, she said yes. Though she seemed a bit reluctant. To be expected, she did just move into the home. You may also have to be on the floor."
"What did you say to convince her?" The only important part Scion missed.
"Oh, I told her the truth. For the most part. Let her know, our homes was destroyed during the Nightmare Moon fiasco, and that we had no where else to go."
As the sun was about to set, and the moon began to rise Joseph started walking into town. "You should go to Twilight's before it gets too dark, it's not too safe at night." Then he turned and galloped away.
"The tree house..." Scion only had to look up. Scion started, maybe he could catch up with her.
Scion finally noticed the giant plant at the end of the road getting closer. Something itched at him, and it wasn't ponies or anything they did. Joseph's words; 'It's not too safe at night'. Considering the people hunting him down, that and it usually isn't safe in big neighborhoods at night, but what specifically did he have in mind? Shaking his head he began to dash after Twilight. Ahead it looked like Twilight stopped, just next to Sugarcube Corner. His pace slowed since she didn't seem to going anywhere.
Scion noticed that Twilight's pace seemed to be slower than his. Happily trotting and smiling as she continued to look about. Each step made it look like she could float on air. The world didn't have any weight to give her. Surrounded by so many things that shined through the suns dimming glow. The atmosphere; the plants and ponies all shared a colorful radiance. Twlight's seemed to be the brightest. She seemed to make flying without wings possible. Scion sighed, mentally hitting himself.
'Pathetic...aren't I?' The way she could do it so easily made him believe that his own new wings rejected him. Sad, because it felt like that it was fair. Tossing the thought aside, he quickened his pace. He could already imagine her humming a song, but Scion probably shouldn't complain.
"You're a strange one Scion" Eve chimed.
