Clementine Orange is a fairly typical magical pony living in a fairly typical hub of Equestrian activity. She pays her taxes, she's a graduate from Manehatten University, and she makes enough bits to get by. Not to say, she doesn't have her own share of problems, that is. As a cataloger of various creatures both magical and mundane, Clementine spends most of her time pouring over studies and new animals. As a member of the Orange family, Clementine has to make time she doesn't have to spare to stay in touch with family. It gets stressful at times. In fact, with a recent important project she's been researching, she has even less time to spare than usual. Her colleagues, having recently gone on an Everfree safari, have brought back a fantastical new species of animal, never before seen in Equestria. With all this tension building up, Clementine comes to the realization that a decision has to be made. Change is inevitable. Just how catastrophic that change has to be, well, that depends on just what's pulling the strings...
