In the magical land of Equestria, following the events of Discord's chaotic attack upon the land, Twilight Sparkle and her friends become the first to witness the beginning of a new era: For far too long, the natural order of this world has suffered under the arrogance, greed, and stupidity of its mortal caretakers or evil individuals. Too long have the elements of harmony been made a mockery by their bearers, constantly sweeping their problems under the rug until they have no other choice, and often at the expense of those ponykind view lesser than themselves. And too long have the unspeakable deeds of evil and injustice gone unpunished by a bleeding-hearted ruler and her cowardly subjects, thanks to their petty beliefs in the 'magic of friendship'.

Well, that ends now.

A new champion has been chosen, brought forth from the birth world of the mighty dovah. One truly worthy to wield the power of the tree. Through his arrival Equestria has entered a new age; an age where the corruption and imbalance of this world, caused either by chaos or ponies themselves, will be cleansed in Dragonfire and reformed anew in the image of his world. The so-called magic of friendship will no longer be enough; Twilight and her friends will need to put aside all that they have known, and join in the adventure to reshape their world and future, or they will burn.

The Age of Fire has begun.
