It has been many years since Princess Luna's banishment. The city is slowly fading. That is a fact every pony knows, especially Lsy the candle maker. Disease, hunger, despair, and death seem all prevalent and no pony understands why. Celestia has not returned, not for centuries.

Lsy is the only pony in the entire city left with a promise mark. But why? One night he awakes to find a hauntingly beautiful alicorn who holds no ties with the princesses. She insists Lsy should not be able to see her and to let her be. She even claims to be the very symbol of death! Lsy isn't going to give up on the one pony who might give him some answers. But is he prepared for the consequences?
