“Why do you watch that stupid show” he said as we walked down the corridor. That was Matthew or Matt as I called him, we were two 16 year old British school kids.
”It kinda has that certain appeal, y’know?” I replied. My name was Ryan we were drastically different but the best of friends.He was the kind of guy who got his head down did everything right and never got in trouble.I, on the other hand, was not the perfect student, barely put much effort into things, was silly, tried to be funny and just a little bit crazy,I just wanted school to end so I could be rid of the place, but most of all I was a brony.
The bell rang signaling the end of the day and thankfully the end of the term,it was a rush to be out of the classrooms.”So you doing anything over the holidays” Matthew asked.
”The usual.”That usually consisted of browsing various websites, playing various games and all together doing fuck all.“See you on results day!” I shouted as we parted ways.

The day had finally arrived, well for some anyway. I didn’t expect that much from my exams, I was just hoping for a passing grade. I knew I would do well in some like history or geography, those were my strong subjects, but certain annoyances like Maths may not have been all well and good. As I approach the school gates I see Matt loping towards me. I swear to God he walks like Shaggy. By the smile on his face I could tell he’d got his results. “hold up while i get mine”
he nods in reply.I walk up to the reception and give my name receiving some paper in return.
Taking a deep I opened the folder and skimmed through the grades nothing spectacular but good enough. “How did you do” Matthew asked as i approached him.
“I passed!” I replied with a big grin.
“Great how about we go back to yours to celebrate?” Matthew suggested
“Sure my parents are out so we can get out the beers.” We walked to my house with a slight spring in our steps knowing we got what we wanted.
The rest of that day consisted of alcohol,loud music and yelling at the tv till we passed out drunk early into the morning.

MATTHEW POV:
“Ugh never again” I grumbled just waking up.Glancing around the room I realised how much of a mess we had made bottles strewn around the room,all the cushions on the floor and a very large stain on the sofa.Turning around I noticed the tv still on static buzzing away. Better turn that off saving the environment and all that.As I stepped closer to the television I noticed a shape behind the static barely noticable but it was there.”Hey Ry you seeing this?”
RYAN POV:
“Huh?” I slurred just waking up “oh probably just poor connection or something” I looked around the room realising the mess we caused “better clean this place up before my parents get back.”
I set about clearing up the bottles ignoring my thumping headache in a few minutes we were done. Throwing a pillow over the stain I said ”turn that tv off we’ll go over to yours till my parents get back.
Just as i got ready to leave i hear behind me”somethings up with your tv it won't turn off.”
“Try the remote” great, button must be broken.
“Nope” i hear from the living room walking in and grabbing the remote. Must need batteries.
Reaching behind the television I flipped the switch cutting of its power supply.
“that takes care of that” i said proudly
“Uh Ry its still on and theres definitely something moving behind here ” reaching out to touch the moving shape.
“It kinda looks like…” Matt starts to say before a blinding light and loud crash forces us back leaving my head ringing and for the second time that day we passed out.

Corn field
Matthew POV:
The hell is this? My head is pounding, my body feels like its been steamrolled and I can’t feel my toes! I try to push myself up only to find that my arms are unresponsive! They just won’t move! I hear a groan beside me and, twisting my head, I am nothing short of stunned by the deep blue phenomenon lying next to me… it was, in every way, sense and form… a pony! I was still getting over this very, very ridiculous realisation when it spoke. “Whutshappin?” it said, looking at me as if I was some strange, otherworldly being! As if I would know what was going on, looking at a colourful animal, in an unknown place, with absolutely no idea how I got there… the last thing I remember was touching Ryan’s T.V.
“I've got absolutely no idea” I murmur, just this simple sentence made the assault on my brain double, the steady pounding becoming an overwhelming stab of white pain. It only lasted a few seconds but I didn’t bother talking again. The first flickers of concern were probing at the corner of my mind as i turned my head back skywards, taking in the beautifully blue sky and golden, knee high corn. Wherever we are it seems safe enough. WE? why am including that weird colourful pony in this; what do I care for it? Looking back towards him something like recognition began to claw at the back of my mind... wait, him? Her? Does it even have a gender?! And why is it staring at me like a deer in headlights.
Ryan POV:
Woah the beer must be still running through my system because there’s a talking unicorn in front of me, from the greatest show earth ,My Little Pony: Friendship is magic no less. As I lay there staring wide eyed at this pony I seem to recognise, I start to remember: the
party,the beer,the T.V. As I start to remember the familiar pony starts to speak “Ryan?” it starts to say in a very familiar voice.”Matt?” I ask back to it “Why are you a pony?”
I shudder at my high pitch voice,I was a mare!
“I could ask you you same thing” he responds. Looking down at myself I can see I too was a pony! I had a coat of dark blue with a long turquoise mane with 2 red stripes,looking back it was the same with my tail.Turning to the other pony he was a stallion whose coat was orange-red and had a barely yellow mane with a stripe of light pink .
Matt POV:
My head was spinning like a fairground carousel. How could this be happening! How could Ryan be a pony? I am pretty sure he was human the night of the party. I could do nothing but stare as my mind slowly processed what was happening. It was impossible, scientifically illogical, a person COULDN’T just change into a pony!
But I couldn’t deny the horrible reality that, as I looked down at my now equine body, I was an orange-red, four hooved, pink and yellow tailed and maned farm animal! A Pony. My mind still chasing itself round in ever-decreasing circles I am forced to accept, for now, that I was a pony; and that lying here doing nothing wasn’t going to change that. If this is a dream or some sort of drink induced hallucination, I might as well play along. “Can you walk” I ask Ryan in a shaky voice.
“Yeah I think so…” he replied in his now feminine voice. Very slowly and shakily lifts himself up and starts to trot around as if he had been doing it his entire life. Looking up at him I am struck by how small he is, but this thought doesn’t linger when I see the wings glued to the side of his body….. wings. My best friend has wings! I’m not sure if he’s noticed as he looks down at me and laughs “You getting up or what!”
It took me three attempts to get off the ground, the first two ending up with my face in the mud; and five minutes of very shaky walking before I suggest leaving the cornfield. The exertion of learning to move had made me forget my friends new extremities, and he still doesn’t seem to have noticed them as we trot, in no particular direction, through the corn.
