Doodle Bug sat up and yawned. She nudged Buster with the tip of her hoof and rolled off the bed, putting her hooves into her zombiepony slippers and shuffling out into the living room. "Is Hoop still not awake?" She frowned and plopped down on the couch, stretching and grabbing the remote. "He's always the first one to wake up...I guess he just decided to sleep in." She turned on the TV and sighed, skipping through the boring channels. She rolled her eyes at a commercial for shampoo 'that cold tame any messy mane'. "Please, no shampoo in Equestria could fix this train wreck I call a mane." She giggled and twirled a strand of hair around her hoof before turning the channel to the news. "Might as well see what's going on..." She sighed.
"In later news," The newsmares' voice seemed off, like a depressed pony talking about horrible things, "Nico the talking dog died earlier today." The mare sighed, "Just like my mom..."
Doodle Bug blinked a few times. "Wow, there goes my chances at having a good morning...Why is she so depressed?" Doodle Bug tilted her head, "And I could've sworn that her mane was purple...And wasn't her coat pink? She's all...White. Is that what I look like?" Doodle Bug chuckled and shook her head.
"Also, the princesses have said that ponies should stay indoors...Everypony is losing their colors, apparently." The mare sighed again and put her head down, "Roll the tape..."
The screen suddenly had Princess Celestia on it.
"Citizens of Equestria! Please remain calm, I know that this is...Strange, but please, my sister and I will find a way to make it better!" Celestia was interrupted by loud pitiful whine.
"Sister, it has infected us."
Celestia looked to the side. "Luna, no..."
Princess Luna came on screen, her mane and tails' colors dripping onto the floor, along with her eye color and and body color.
"We do not have long, sister...We already feel sad..." Celestias' horn sparked up, and the video ended.
Doodle Bug blinked a few times and looked over at Buster. "...This is weird..." She looked back at the TV.
"So, yea, they lose their colors and get all depressed..."
The screen suddenly said 'technical difficulties' before it went black. Doodle Bug frowned. "Wow. This is serious, huh?" She looked at Buster again, who was staring at her with a worried look in his goofy brown eyes. "We should get Hoop..." Buster whined in agreement. "Okay, so if I was a sissy, neat freak pegasus stallion, in the middle of a messy crisis, where would I be?" She brought a hoof to her chin in thought. "I wouldn't be around the mare that makes fun of me, that's for sure...I'd be somewhere safe. Like my room." She smiled and slid off the couch, shuffling to Hoops' bedroom. "Hooooopppppyyyyy!" She whined, leaning against the door, "I need you assistance with a crisis!" She waited for a few minutes."Hoop?" She frowned and pressed an ear against the door.
Drip drip drip
Her left ear flopped down as she pressed her lips together. "Hmmm..." She reached her hoof towards the handle. "Hoop?" She opened the door slowly, peeking her head in.
Drip drip drip
She looked over the room before her eyes settled on the bed. There was dark grey and black liquid rolling off the bed, hitting the floor with a strange sizzle before disappearing. Doodle Bug gasped and looked up at the figure in the bed. "H-Hoopy?" She took a step in, "Are you awake?" Another step. "Please, Hoop, if your awake, tell me..."
Drip drip drip
Doodle Bug took a step forward, going next to the bed. She heard a quiet sobbing that she hadn't before. "H-Hoop..." She reached a hoof towards him, hesitating before resting her hoof on him. She grabbed the blanket and pulled it off.
"Oh no."
