Let's Get Techno

Techno Manester was a young bat pony. Well, half bat pony. His father, Moonshine, was a unicorn and his mother, Moonlight, was a bat pony. He had spiky hair and a light grey coat. He didn't have a cutie mark yet. He loved his life, nothing was wrong. He misjudged his own future...

Techno watched as his house burn down. His parents hadn't gotten out yet. He closed his dark amber eyes.

His wings shot out from his sides and run dashed into the house. He ignored the calls of the fire ponies and sound of their hooves as they galloped after him.

Techno burst though the house. "Mom?! *cough* Dad?!" His ears perked to the sound of coughing. He broke though a door and saw his parents huddled together in the corner.

He ran over and hugged them. "Good, your alive," he said. He threw them over his back and began running through the house.

A little bit of his ear got caught on a loose nail, ripping it off.

He didn't care. Saving his parents was his goal.

He saw the door and sprang into a dead run. He crashed, head-first, through the door and stumbled onto the ground.

His mother and father stood up on staggering hooves. "Techno," Moonlight said. "Yeah, Mom," he asked, not moving from his spot on the ground.

"You wings are fire!"

Techno looked at the appendages on either side of him. Indeed, they were flaming.

Techno's irises shrank. He began running around, screaming. "Can't you put it out," shouted Moonshine. The fire pony shook his head. "The hose is too powerful. It'll hurt him," he said.

Techno was screaming and running around in the background, while the 3 adults bickered.

The pain stopped and Techno sighed. He looked back at his wings.

One problem.

They weren't there!

Techno began screaming again. He bumped into a figure. He looked at darker blue shoes donned on even darker legs. His eyes traveled upward until he was looking at the moon princess. He bowed immediately.

"Your Highness."

He felt a hoof under his chin. His head was lifted up and he was looking into Luna's eyes. She bended down to his level.

"No need for formality, my little hero.

"Why are you here?"

"You gave up a piece of you to save your parents. That is why."

Techno was looked back and moved his wing nubs up and down. Then up at his ear. A piece was missing. He let out a miserable huff.

"But I have a gift for you, Techno," said Luna.  She levitated a registration form.

Techno's eyes lit up. "I would for you to train under my wing," she said. Techno looked her with a "really" face.

"Sorry. Wrong choice of words."

Techno smiled and hugged Luna's leg. "Never mind that." He said. Luna smiled and looked at his parents.

"Is it alright for him to train with me?"

Moonlight looked at Moonshine, then rubbed her husband's neck. He wrapped a hoof around her shoulders.

"It's quite alright, Princess Luna."

Techno smiled and began hopping about like an excited filly. "Wait a minute," he heard his dad say. The unicorn trotted over to the ruble of their house.

He began shuffling through it. A silver glint caught his eye. "Yes! It's alive," he shouted. The dark-cream colt picked up the object and began carrying it back to his son.

He set it on the ground. "Zecora told me this would happen, but I didn't believe her. Her exact words were-" The stallion sighed.

"Flames of red will take a house

Not your son and not your spouse

But a young one will perform a feat

Then a goddess, you shall meet

For this, I have confirmation

You will have to perform registration."

Moonlight lifted up her husband chin. "Why didn't you tell us," she asked. "I didn't want to believe it," Moonshine said. Techno picked something up from the ruble.

"So, the house burned down. Who gives a crap? As long as we are family, home is where our hearts are."

Techno placed his hoof on his mother's heart.

"Together."

Moonlight smiled and placed a hoof on Moonshine's heart, who placed his on Techno's.

Luna and the fire ponies were crying. "I will not stand for this," she said. She walked over and cleared her throat, wanting to sound as serious as possible.

"You will stay at the Royal castle. Techno will also train with me everyday."

Techno Looked at his parents excitedly. They couple looked at each other then at their son.

They nodded.

Techno smiled hugged his parents. He picked the brace his father had and put it on his back.

Luna walked over to Techno and placed her hoof on his shoulder. "Come now. My sister must raise the sun soon. I must lower the moon, so she can do so."

The group of four began following the princess of the night.
