Princess Twilight Sparkle, the rookie princess of the country. While she was still trying to fit in, her friends won't stop it with their bowing and formality. The alicorn had enough, and was out to change what exaggerated respect her subjects had for her, by hook or by crook.

Chapter 1

"Greetin's, Princess." Applejack lowered her entire head, greeting Equestria's newest princess. Twilight, who was not one for formalities(well, at least those directed at her), could only raise an amused eyebrow at her country friend.

"Applejack, please, get up. We're friends, no need to be so...formal and respectful. Just be your normal self. A 'Hey Twi' is very much preferred." Stretching out a lavender hoof, she helped her friend up. "How many times have I told you already?"

The worker whistled, merely saying, "Well, friend or not, a princess is a princess. If you really hate it that much, then you never saw anythin', 'kay?" She tipped her hat, gave a hearty guffaw, and cantered back to the farm. Twilight, not really knowing what the laugh was for, shook her head in bemusement and spoke to nopony in particular.

"Ok.....Well that was weird. I have the other 5 to visit," she stared at her new wings,"and thank Celestia most of them live on the ground. I really should have accepted Rainbow's flying lesson offer I guess." Princess Twilight turned around, and trotted off to a certain fashionista's boutique.

Ding! The snowy mare looked up from her work, glasses resting on her nose. "Well, hello there darling! I'm Rarity, seamstress and owner of Carousel-- OH PRINCESS TWILIGHT! Uhm er...good morning there, Your Highness!" Fumbling with her work dress, she hastily shoved her glasses off her muzzle, and bowed as if she was getting executed standing up. Twilight, startled by the sudden frantic attitude, widened her eyes for a moment, and bit her lip in frustration.

"Oh Rarity, please. Get up! We're friends." Doing the same gesture she did to Applejack, she glanced at the dress her unicorn friend was sewing, and gasped. "Oh, Rarity, that dress....I'm so sorry for distracting you from your work! It's beautiful. I'd say it's your masterpiece." The white unicorn grimaced, waving a hoof.

"Oh, Twilight, dearie. It's the most atrocious piece of work I have ever created! Look at the torn fabric, the line thing that's out of place, a-and that cross-stitch thingy that totally went wrong! Look at the imperfect choice of colors, why, it's...very...ugly." Rarity lost her senses right here and there. Being in front of royalty really made her feel red-faced. "Well, I really must be restarting my work. It's for..Sapphore Shires! Yes, Sapphore Shires. The blue diamond-y mare! E-Er.....so excuse me! Ehehehe."

The lavender alicorn could only gape at her friend.

"My routine's gonna be awesome. Oh yeah! Rainbow 'Wonderbolt' Dash, the speediest, awesomest Wonderbolt ever!" The pegasus did a midair backflip, expertly landing on all four hooves. At the corner of her mirror, she saw a pony enter her home. "Well well, guessing game huh? How did you even get here, Fluttershy?" Rainbow turned around, expecting to see a yellow mare with some more animals for her. Instead, in her place was Princess Twilight. "Gah! Uh......hi. Heya, Twi. Nice to see you here? I guess."

"Well at least you're not acting too formally...." Twilight muttered to herself, not wanting Rainbow out of all ponies to act like........Ugh. She couldn't even begin to imagine. "Well, Rainbow. Can I ask you a question?" The cyan Pegasus raised an eyebrow, and unfurled her wings.

"Ask me anything, Princess."

Ok, maybe even Rainbow can't help but address her alicorn friend by that title. "Don't. Call me that," Twilight deadpanned. "This is the question. Why in Equestria are you ponies acting so....respectful? Don't get me wrong, as much as I expect some respect from everypony, I don't want my friends to exaggerate their manners. What happened to the good ol' fashioned Rainbow 'Crash' Dash style?" The princess could've sworn she saw a murderous glint in her friend's eyes, but it disappeared in a flash.

"Seriously? That was what the question was all about? Knngh...! Hehe! Good one, Twi! To answer that ridiculously easy 'question', it's because you're a princess, hello? Heck, even if we're friends, we still have to be more respectful than usual. And, crashing into royalty won't give a nice, awesome image I've been holding all this while. Rainbow 'Good Image' Dash! Y' like?" She gave a hopeful grin, awaiting a reply from Twilight. The latter, however, merely rolled her eyes and left with a stunned Dash staring after her. "....What in Celestia is wrong with that pony?! Too much awesomeness intake?"

"Oh, Angel Bunny, you know I'm busy doing a project for the Animal Care Community. Could you please stop hitting me...with the hugest carrot...in the market..? It..kind of hurts.." That moment, the front door opened wide, the pony barging in hit the door against the inner walls so hard a hinge broke loose. "OHMYGOODNESS PLEASE DON'T EAT ME-- Oh, it's just you, Twilight. Come in." The alicorn princess huffed her thanks.

"Gladly."

Fluttershy, always able to sense when somepony is angry, wrinkled her eyebrows. "Oh...What's gotten you so mad..? You can tell me, I don't mind." Her mouth was formed into an almost perfect 'o' shape, with the most inquisitive eyes. Nonetheless, her method worked. Her friend cooled down, sipping some tea that the yellow Pegasus had just brewed.

"Well, everything. You're the only one that doesn't treat me like a prima donna so far. Even Rainbow has a hard time treating me casually. I mean, I know I'm royalty and everything, but you all are my closest friends! Why can't anypony appreciate and acknowledge that..." She trailed off, noticing the mare give her a timid look. "Fluttershy? Earth to Fluttershy!" She waved her hoof in annoyance. Everypony's attitudes has made all her sympathy and patience vanish. Fluttershy trembled her lips, and let out a good wail.

"WAAAAAAAAAAH!! TWILIIIIIIIIGHT!!" she sobbed. She buried her entire head into her alicorn friend's wing feathers. Twilight gaped, blinking her eyes rapidly in disbelief.

"Fluttershy?! What's wrong?" she questioned. Nothing replied her except for a few moans and a good nose blow. When the Pegasus was more or less ready, she gazed at her friend with bloodshot eyes.

"Well......You're the only one I can confide in....Applejack will probably shove off the problem, Pinkie tries to make sunshine in everything, Rainbow will just wave it off like AJ, and Rarity'll also probably make a dress for a cheer-up gift...Well....I just want to tell you that, I've been going through the same thing all my life..except in reverse. Ponies call me names, some I even cry in my pillow all night, thinking about nothing but all the name-calling at flight school. I couldn't sleep well, and dozed off the next day during lessons. One particular pony....called me a horrible, horrible name...which I do not want to mention ever again. And..you know who said that...?" She began tearing up again, except the tears flowed down her face even quicker than lightning. Twilight listened in silence, knowing that was a rhetorical question.

"Rainbow."

At that time, once Twilight heard her name, her face was contorted with rage. 'RAINBOW?!! RAINBOW! THAT CRAPPY B***H BETTER PAY UP! GOODBYE FLUTTERSHY."

"......That's why I told Rainbow not to get into my shed...."
