//-------------------------------------------------------// The rise of PegaPony Mare -by Simon Spellcaster- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// PegaPony Mare //-------------------------------------------------------// PegaPony Mare One day when Applebloom was playing hoofball with Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo, things went incredibly wrong, which always happens, though. Applebloom was guarding the goal. Scootaloo were the pony who had the ball. She began to do what she always did. She turned around and bucked the ball so it reached a high speed. But the ball did not go to the goal, instead it went flying over to the Everfree Forest. "Oh, Applebloom. I'm so sorry I kicked your ball over to the forest," Scootaloo apologized. "It's okay, Scootaloo," Applebloom said. "Ah'll just go get it back." "No, we're not allowed to go to the forest, remember?" Sweetie Belle said. "Don' worry about me," Applebloom said. "It'll just take a minute, promise." "Do you know what I think you should do?" Scootaloo asked. "I think you should just let it go." Sweetie Belle had a bad feeling about this, but let Applebloom go get the ball back. _______________________ Applebloom had hoped the ball wouldn't go too far off. Luckily her hopes were correct. Right across a small river was the ball, laying in a bush. "Ther' you are," Applebloom said to herself. She saw a few rocks in the river that were over the water level. She decided to jump from rock to rock until she had crossed. She completed it without missing at any of the rocks. Applebloom looked at the bush the ball was in. The bush had orange flowers with white thorns. She had never seen any flowers like this, but decided to ignore that for now. She carefully attempted to take the ball out of the bush, but got near the thorns of the bush. "Ouch," Applebloom said. "What are these?" But everything seemed to move around her. She was not sure if she was getting insane or if the flowers did this. She instantly fell asleep... _______________________ "What takes her so long?" Scootaloo asked Sweetie Belle. "Maybe she is in danger. Maybe she met some timberwolves!" Sweetie Belle said, while getting panicked. "She would have shouted if any of that would happen," Scootaloo said. "Do you think we should help her?" Sweetie Belle asked. Scootaloo did a facehoof. "Of course we should help her!" _______________________ Applebloom woke up. "Aw, that must be one of the weirdest dreams ah've ever had," she said. She suddenly realized her voice had changed and that it probably wasn't a dream. "What?" she asked herself. She had a much lighter voice, and she felt somehow bigger than before. She went to the river to check out what happened, and... ... She didn't have a word for what she saw. In her reflection she saw a big orange coated mare with golden boots and a golden mask. She also saw the wings on the sides of her. "What?... Wings?" Applebloom said. "What is this?" Applebloom asked. But she didn't know who she asked. Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo came in the forest and noticed the orange coated pegasus mare at the other side of the river. "Hey, what have you done to Applebloom?" Scootaloo asked, while getting angry at the mysterious mare. "Wait, what? Ah'm Apple..." she stopped to think about it. 'Oh, that happened' she thought. She suddenly realized what had happened. 'Those flowers may have made me like... This... And now Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle wonder who I am.' "Are you going to answer us, or not?" Scootaloo asked again. "Ah'm sorry, but yall are misunderstanding," Applebloom said, while pointing a hoof towards Scootaloo, sending a flaring arrow towards her. "What the...?" Applebloom asked. She never knew she could summon flaming arrows by just pointing her hoof towards something. And now Scootaloo would think Applebloom, or in this case, this new pony, was evil. "Hey, how did you do that?" Scootaloo asked, but to her surprise, Applebloom reappered behind her in a flash. "Ah can explain," Applebloom said, while getting freaked out by the random teleportation. "We don't need explanation. Just tell us what you've done to Applebloom!" Scootaloo demanded. "Ok, Ah'll tell you," Applebloom said. "I'm Applebloom." In a few secounds, she was covered with an unknown orange aura, and morphed into the Applebloom they've known. This surprised both Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle, making them faint. "Seriously?" Applebloom asked herself. _______________________ Scootaloo woke up, but now she was in a hospital. A doctor came in. "Oh, you're awake." "Why am I here?" Scootaloo asked. "And where is that mysterious mare?" "Um, excuse me, but who are you talking about?" the doctor asked. Scootaloo didn't know how to answer this. The only thing she remembered was that there was that mysterious mare near the river. She can't remember why she had a memory of that, though. "Is everything alright?" the doctor asked. "Yes, everything is fine, I guess," Scootaloo answered. But inside she knew there was something wrong. She wondered who this mysterious mare was, and she couldn't stop thinking about it. _______________________ Applebloom went into her bedroom. Her mind drifted around what had happened that day. "What is this?" she asked herself. She thought about being that mare again. And she managed to have the ability to change to the new form again. She thought of what changes this form gave her. "Orange coat, golden boots, golden mask... Which ah can't remove from mah face," she said to herself. "I also get wings and the ability to shoot flaming arrows of some kind, so what am I? A superpony?" Applebloom thought of being a superpony, but that just seemed stupid. But in fact, it was kind of true she became a superpony. She focused all she could on returning back to normal, but didn't manage to do it. She tried again, but failed. She tried one last time, but remembered how she got back to normal the first time. 'Can I think of what pony I should be?' Applebloom thought, and immediately, she became normal again. 'I don't know what I've become, but I feel like I can keep my earth pony strength, while being able to fly, randomly teleport and shoot arrows. Maybe if I master this, I can put it to use.' she thought. She came up with a name for the new form: PegaPony Mare. That was all she got. But what she wanted to do now was to only sleep and forget everything that had happened that day. But what she didn't think was if something else had been affected by those flowers. //-------------------------------------------------------// Day 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Day 1 Celestia's sun rose up from the horizon. A new day has begun. If only something special happened this day... oh... Applebloom woke up from her sleep. "That must be one of the weirdest dreams ah've ever dreamt," she said to herself, thinking of what had happened. "Aw, who am ah kidding? That was real that happened yesterday." Applebloom had a lot of thoughts about what had happened and what she had become. She finally decided to ignore it for now and went downstairs. Near the kitchen, Applebloom saw Big Macingtosh and AppleJack. "Good morning, sugarcube." "Good morning, AppleJack," Applebloom replied. She wondered if she should tell her about yesterday, but another idea came into Applebloom's mind. "Do you mind if I go to Twilight's library?" Applebloom asked, hoping for the answer to be yes. She didn't want to confuse AppleJack or give her too much news. "Sure, AppleBloom." "Thanks," Applebloom said before trotting out of Sweet Apple Acres. "I wonder what she's gonna do," AppleJack said to herself. _______________________________________________________________________ Applebloom came closer to the library. She knocked on the door, waiting for Twilight to open it. The one opening the door was Spike. "Hi Spike, is Twilight here?" Applebloom asked. "Yeah, she's here," the dragon replied. Applebloom followed Spike in. She saw Twilight trotting around. It looked like she was searching for something. "Um, Twilight? Can I ask ya something?" Applebloom asked the alicorn princess. "Sure, what is it?" Twilight asked while levitating a few books. "Whatcha doing?" Applebloom asked. "I'm currently searching for a book I read. I can't seem to remember where i left it, though," Twilight said. "Was there anything else?" "Yes. Have ya heard of a orange colored flower with white thorns?" Applebloom asked, hoping Twilight would know anything about the strange flower. "Applebloom, this flower... I've read about it in a book. They are supposed to be rare. They only grow in the Everfree Forest," Twilight said. "What does it do?" Applebloom asked. "The flower is enchanted with a lot of magic. If a creature touches it, the creature will get it's magic," Twilight said. A question came into her mind. "Have you by any chance seen one?" "Yes, I was unlucky to get near some," Applebloom said. "That's Great!" Twilight shouted. "I mean, those flowers are supposed to be rare. Where did you find them?" "Ah don't remember Twilight, I just found them in a bush across a small river. Honest." "Uh, I guess I shouldn't expect you to know it either," Twilight said. "What does the flowers do anyways?" "Well, if I can remember from the book. The flowers could give the creature who touches them magical powers or special gear. They will most likely make that creature powerful." "So that explains my new special powers?" Applebloom asked. "I guess so, can you show me them?" Twilight asked, hoping to get to see what the flowers could have done. Applebloom focused. She tried all she could on returning to the form she called PegaPony. A magical yellow aura covered Applebloom. "Applebloom! Are you alright?" Twilight asked. The magical aura vanished, revealing the shape of a pegasus. "This is what the flowers did." Twilight looked at Applebloom. She couldn't believe her own eyes. "Did anything else happen?" "Yes, this," Applebloom said while pointing her hoof towards the floor. A flaming light arrow appeared out of thin air, almost as if it was magic controlling it. The arrow went straight to the wooden floor. "That's not even all." Applebloom closed her eyes and focused. She tried to think of what she did yesterday. Using her 'magic' she teleported a few meters to the side. "That's amazing! How did you learn to do that so quick?" "It's almost like ah've been born like this," Applebloom said. She couldn't understand why Twilight were so happy about this. How could she explain this to Scootaloo or Sweetie Belle? 'Perhaps Twilight is only excited about I can do,' Applebloom thought. "Have you told this to anypony else?" Twilight asked. "No, ah haven't," Applebloom said. "Why not? Don't you know what this could mean? You just discovered the full effects of those flowers!" Twilight was excited. She wondered how Celestia would react if she sent her a letter about this. "Ah just don't want to..." The conversation was interrupted by Twilight getting a sudden headache. "Oh no. My emergency spell tells me something bad is happening," Twilight said. "Your emergency spell?" Applebloom asked. "It's a new spell I'm testing, but that's not the point. Something bad is happening... Spike! Can you watch over the library until I'm back? Applebloom, follow me." They both galloped through Ponyville until they reached the dam. Applebloom looked at the dam. Some builders were repairing it, but she also noticed cracks that appeared. The cracks made a chunk of the dam fall apart. "Watch out!" Applebloom said while flying to the builders below. The builders noticed a giant boulder falling down. They were preparing for the impact, but it never happened. The boulder didn't hit them. One of the builders looked up, and saw a pegasus lifting the boulder. "Thanks, whoever you are." "The name's PegaPony..." Applebloom said, while throwing away the boulder. "I have never seen any pegasus with such strength," another builder said. "You must be some kind of superpony." "What? The boulder didn't seem that heavy," Applebloom said. She didn't notice the crowd of ponies gathering around. A reporter mare came towards Applebloom. "You've just saved a bunch of builders from falling rocks. Who are you, brave mare?" Applebloom took some time to think before answering. "Ah am PegaPony. The earth pony, with wings," Applebloom explained, trying not to sound weird. "Let's all give this mare a big applause, shall we?" the reporter asked the crowd. Applebloom couldn't believe this. Was she actually saving a bunch of ponies. Did she receive applause? Applebloom looked at her flank. Her cutie mark was a golden mask. This day was a day she was going to remember.
