Chapter 3: It Begins

He had his helmet on, as he looked up at his large foe "hello, pony, you in charge?" He asked not knowing that the armored figure was actually a human and had a suit that that would make steel look like tissue paper fighting a katana.

~flash back~

He had just dropped into Reach, his drop team lost three of the six soldiers in the drop, it was him, Sergent Recker "Tex" Johnson, and the Master Chief, mission was simple enough, link up with Fire Team, and get Chief to the pillar of autumn. Simple enough right? His pod slowed and slammed into the ground jumping out he garbled his sniper rifle and shotgun. "Clear" he said on his radio, no red motion detection, only yellow. Soon Tex and Chief where next to the young soldier. "Let's get out of this vally, there's no cover" the chief said, both ODST agreed. This mission, they where Bantha fonder, they knew it.

Once they found a shallow cave, the checked for buggers, clear. Good news.

"LZ is two clicks to the east, ONI wants us to take out the AA positioned here, here and here" Tex said looking up at an unusually quite David. "Hey private, what's up, you haven't said shit since we got planet side." Dave took a breath

"It seems to quite, the AA took out half our squad, and yet no search party to takes us down, it don't sit well" he said holding his sniper in a ready position, setting his visor to max for motion detector. "What do you think chief?" With an agreeing nod, the chief spoke up.

"I agree, let's get out of here," and with that the rag tag team left the cave heading for a small town. As they got into the town, they saw one of the AA guns and took it down. "This I'd Sierra 117, AA is down" as if on cue the radio cracked to life

"This is Sarge, AA is down, take that you damn scum bag!" A unknown voice chipped in.

Then another voice came in on the radio, a female voice "this is Noble 2, AA is down."

"This is Noble Actual, sword bass is under fire, all available assets assist" at that moment, a shot ran out, and pink punctuated Tex in the chest, before his body hit the ground, chief eliminated the jackal that killed the good sergeant. The ground started to shake "PRIVATE RUN!" The chief commanded, but David was gone, running towards the Hunter emptying his snipers clip into it, every shot hit a vital spot, out of ammo, he dropped it, grabbed a grande and shoved it between the armor platting of the larger foe. This didn't go over well with the hunter.

"GRAHHHHHH" the beast let out roar as it back handed David, crushing his chest plate and breaking two ribs, and his leg and sending him back ten feet, his helmet went flying off in another direction. Master Chief grabbed the private and pulled him away as the hunter exploded into nothingness.

After the dust settled there lie a screaming David. He was in both physical and mental agony. "Let me go, I'll fucking kill them all! Every single one of them! And their fucking larva too!" His best fried just died, he was pissed. He wanted blood.

"We need med evac, one critical, one KIA." he opened his med kit and pulled out a sedative, he then plunged the needle into Davids neck. Effectively rendering David unconscious. Chief saw two pelicans come in one was fire team, one the medevac. He picked up David's helmet and placed it on his chest. He also took Tex into his arms and brought him to the medevac, seeing that everything was in order, and briefing on how David got banged up "no shit? He took down a hunter? Kid got balls" the medic said. Chief then got on Fire Team's pelican and looked back at the medevac, "good luck private."

~present~

"Yeah, I'm in charge, and I'm hear to tell to that you will not pass into equestria" two guards with the large minotaur started to flank both of his sides, they drew there weapons. "If you contente, i'll kill you both" he looked at the commander of the Minotaurs "and you'll beg for something as sweet as pain when I'm done with you"

The Minotaur laughed "kill this pony fool" the one on the right lunged first, David dodged and forced his attackers blade into the minotaur on the left. Forcing his attackers arm up he gutted one minotaur, drawing his own knife, he slashed open the minotaurs neck who was on the right. This all happened within 5 seconds leaving both armies stunned. The commander of the Minotaurs look on in horror as two of his best fell like leaves in the fall.

"You will pay you pony" the panicked bull man said, causing David to laugh like an evil villain.

"You think I'm a pony" he pressed his visors button showing a furless face. "You fight a human" by this time both armies where charging and David's lieutenant quickly flew up to him and dropped his sword to him. He caught it and blocked the commanders downward swing and slashed back, soon the entire battlefield was in combat, and the ponies where winning.

The minotaur captain realized that he was losing, "RETRE..." He couldn't finish his words. His army captured, he was going to kill that "human" it was *WACK* the Minotaurs helmet fell off. And he hit the ground getting knocked out. "Secure the prisoners, burn the dead body's of the enemy. And collect their weapons." He said and looked down "and collect our dead, we're taking them home." He said it was then his lieutenant landed next to him.

"Sir, we lost 15 sir. But we've captured 245, the enemy lost 415 in the battle. The rest fled" the lieutenant smiled "I don't know how sir, but the battle is ours" he nodded. Within hours orders where fallowed and they where on a train back to Canterlot. Sleep started to creep into David's vision, and he was out.

David opened his eyes, he was alone in a room, save for a glowing blade he saw enter his gut...
