Fresh blood filled the air. Tenderfoots blade did not hit its mark, but instead had plunged into the chest of his lieutenant, Braveheart. Red, David could only see red, and his target, Tenderfoot. Withdrawing his knife he shoved the lifeless body of the blue pegasus to the side. A loud thud echoed through the great hall as David punched Tenderfoot in the middle of his chest, sending the traitor flying through the air and hitting the ground with another loud thud. Before Tenderfoot could stand, David was already on him, landing punch after punch. Tenderfoot slashed at David, only succeeding in leaving a gash over his right eye. David grabbed Tenderfoots wrist and twisted the knife from his hand. "Die you filth!" David yelled picking up the knife and going for the kill... -onboard the liberty- Watching as the commander left the command deck, David blinked, sergeant, he made sergeant. He looked out over the earth. The last time he would see the blue marble inhabited with humans. He stepped in his cryo tube as the ship entered slip space. With a hiss, his body was frozen. Unknown to him or anyone else on the ship, a computer error would not only bring them out next to a Covenant Corvette, but not wake anyone until they fell under attack, which is all it took for David to be sent to the vacuum of space, and luck would have it for him to drift home. As his cryo tube, two regal ponies where watching the starts "Luna, there isn't suppose to be shooting stars tonight is there?" "No sister, there isn't" Princess Luna replied and her horn glowed catching the unknown object and making it appear in front of them. "SISTER!" Luna exclaimed "THERE IS A PONY IN THERE!" -the thrown room- David's hand froze in place. A golden aura encircled it. "David don't, he must face trial" Celestia said standing. David shot her a look, it was then she saw the hate fueled by his pain of loss in his eyes. She couldn't anything. Only a look of apology. "Please. You must obey our laws." David nodded and spat in Tenderfoots face. He leaned down to the beaten traitor under him. "I hope you suffer pig" David said standing then going over to his dying lieutenant. "I'm sorry sir, I did what I could" Braveheart said as his breathing become shallower "I'm so sleepy sir." "You did good lieutenant, it's okay son. You can sleep." David said, holding the dying stallions hand. With one last breath, the stallion smiled "give them hell sir, give... them... hell" and like that, Braveheart passed from this world. Luna could swear she saw a tear in his eyes. David stood and turned to Tenderfoot who was now arrested and being held by the personal guard. Laughing. He was laughing?! "Heh heh heh. Pathetic weakling." David made a fist and in the blink of an eye, made contact with Tenderfoots gut. Now only gasp of air and coughing left the traitors lips. Grabbing his mane he pulled upwards hard. "Who are you working for!" Without waiting for a response he punched him in the gut again. Then again, and again. "Take him to the dungeon, no food for him" Celestia cut David off. "I will be the one who chooses punishment, not you" Celestia said sternly. However some of the guards would would swear that while David was punching the traitor, the corners of the princess's lips had the slightest turn upright.  With a smile "Captain, interrogate him, do as you wish and as for the rest, to the dungeon, no food or water". With a nod David turned to the two guards holding Tenderfoot "take him to the interrogation room." The interrogation room, a dark room in the dungeon. There was a small lantern that was in the center hanging over a table. As they took Tenderfoot and the other traitors from the great hall, David leaned over and picked up the knife, it was familiar, but where. He gripped the handle very tightly. He then looked at Celestia  "princess, I am sorry, for what you saw there," he looked at the knife walked up to her and held it by its blade as he handed it to her. "It wasn't my place to order punishment" Once again Celestia cut him off, "it is okay, David. " she said taking the knife and setting it down. It was now she noticed how much taller then him she was. She smiled softly "thank you, for your loyalty." But before David could respond he was attacked, this time, by a soft, blue alicorn. "David, we are so happy your safe!" Princess Luna said pressing her lips hard to his. David happily returned the kiss. He blushed, thinking about the first time they met. -the laboratory- "So, doth all humans have metal skin like thou?" Princess Luna said looking him over. This got a chuckle out of David. "No, no human does" he took off his helmet. Cause Lyra and Luna to both blush, he looked, rough, rugged, yet, kind. Just like a pony except he had no fur, and small ears on the side of his head. "Cat got your tongue?" He teased, causing both to blush far more. "Eh em." Lyra said breaking the tension, she looked over her clipboard "could you remove the rest of your armor please? So we could examine you?" Lyra continued.  David nodded and did as she asked of him, if he was going to be here, he might as well do as asked. Taking off his armor, he was left on only his skin tight under suit, it showed off his muscular physic nicely, both mares kept looking him over. "If thou doth mind our asking, why do you wear armor?" Luna asked and saw the smile fade instantly. "Only if thou wished to tell us" the princess continued. David nodded then explained his species, the Covenant, and the war. Luna almost instantly understood him. "Why is thy armor black?" David thought for a moment and smiled "you know, I'm not sure, I think it's because a lot of drops are at night and it keeps us safer during our battles." He sighed, then it hit him. "I'm the last human, with me, the species dies" he was instantly brought into a hug from Luna. "We are sorry. We know how it feels to be alone." Luna said with a smile. -present- Luna had a barely visible blush on her face "do you have a moment, we wish to spend time alone with you" //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Seven: Trust and Loyalty //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Seven: Trust and Loyalty A pile of hastily removed clothing lie on the floor of Luna's bed chamber.  David yawned looking out the window, Celestia's harsh sun glaring into his blue eyes. He felt a warm, furry face nuzzle into his bare chest, and heard a groan and felt his lovers body press closer to his. "Mmhm" A non coherent voice said. "Why doth our sister hath to raise the sun so eairly" Luna said. Then looking up at David, "We hath hours before our royal duties. Perhaps our lover can please us?" She finished, smiling up at him. "I wish I could princess" David smiled softly and hugged her. "But I've got to go take care of Tenderfoot" he finished as he sat up and started sliding on his jumpsuit. It has been an entire day since the fight in the throne room, yet, somehow Luna made him completely forget during the night. "Love you Lulu" David said, adding her pet name to irritate her a little. And with a kiss left her. -in the dungeon- "Move it filth!" A guard said shoving Tenderfoot into the interrogation room, only a lantern, table and two chairs filled it. Or it seemed. Forcing Tenderfoot to sit down in the chair facing the door. Cuffing him to it. As the gaurds left, the tratior spoke. "Nothing you can do will make me talk." Tenderfoot said cockily. This prompted a smile from both guards. "Good thing we're not interrogating you then" as they said that David, now in his armor slammed Tenderfoots face into the table. He then flipped the table away and moved his chair in front of Tenderfoot. ODST interrogation tactics where brutal, but highly effective. Not saying a word David punched Tenderfoot in the gut. Then in the face. "Buck you, Demon." Tenderfoot said. This got David to smile. Demon, only one other UNSC operative has ever been called a demon, but that was by a far stronger enemy. Drawing his knife he smiled under his helmet. "You know, I would love to gut you and watch you die" he put the knife on Tenderfoots neck. "You know the princess doesn't want me too." He chuckled as Tenderfoot was now visibly shaking. "But I think I can explain why I did". He rammed the knife into the traitors leg and covered his mouth.  "Now spill." -the throne room- "I see " said Celestia. "So as we figured, the Minotaurs paid him." She said looking at the human soldier. She looked down slightly when their eyes made contact. "What do you think we should do?" She asked looking at him again, this time not breaking eye contact. ~those eyes, why do you have to look so much like him~ -13,000 years ago- Celestia slowly opened her eyes, her people had peaceful life's, everything was going well. She walked out to her balcony to assume her duties for raising the sun, when she noticed a black object falling towards her. But it turned and slammed into the ground. "Private Jason Henderson, liberty come it." The mysterious being said to no one. "This is Liberty, report" replied a voice in his helmet. "All air levels are habitable, but the planet has life. I just landed near a large castle like - HOLD IT" Henderson said raising his smg to the being. Who only looked at him strangely. Her horn started to glow as the sun raised up. Illuminating a beautiful, regal looking lady. She had animal like fur, ears and a tail, but it made her look all the more beautiful. "COME IN HENDERSON! Are you under fire!?" The voice yelled. "Ne..negative, the planet is inhabited." The being said removing his helmet. If love at first sight existed, this was proof. After about two years with the species together, the humans decided to enslave the ponies. A few where against it, to the point they fought to keep the ponies free. "You stay the fuck away from her!" Henderson yelled, he was the last human fighting for the ponies, and what the humans thought as the last thing in their way. MA5 fire erupted and killed the human. Celestia watched as her lover, her friend, her husband fell dead in front of her. Her rage broke, and she ended the species. She had their ship berried in the mountain. -present- "Princess, are you okay?" David asked, now close to her, almost right next to her. He saw tears in her eyes, and was concerned. When she looked up and saw his face, his eyes, ~damn those eyes~ she thought as she lunged, kissing him. He pulled away and blushed "Celestia?!" He asked and saw a blush on her face. "I am sorry, David, I shouldn't have done that." Celestia said and looked to the side. "I, use to love a human, like you. He, was my everything, my lover, and Luna's father, and he died protecting me and Luna from his kind." She said still blushing. "And when I saw him die, I..." Her eyes swelled with tears. "I killed your entire species. I could only see his killer! I'm despicable, useless tra" David didn't let her finish the word before he smacked her. "Don't say that, don't you ever dare call yourself trash. If my race threatened yours with slavery and death, they deserve to be gone." He wrapped his arms around Celestia and spoke as she sobbed into his neck. "Just don't ever talk about yourself like that again." "Th... Thank you David ." Celestia said and wiped her eyes dry. After a moment of thought, she stood, "fallow me, there is something I need you to see." -Celestia's memory- Jason smiled at his lover as they embraced each other. It had been three months since he dropped to the planet. And he had been dating Celestia for the past month. "Baby, no matter what, I will always love you" Jason said as he cuddled into her. -present- Celestia looked over her shoulder, at David, her heart skipping a beat. ~those damned eyes, why do they look like his so much~ //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Eight: Happy Memories //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Eight: Happy Memories Chapter Eight: Happy Memories Year 2802. It has been 250 years since the UNSC ship Liberty had left earth. After a computer glitch, the ship was sent through space where it appeared next to an enemy battle cruiser. After a rough battle, the crew of Liberty made a blind jump, but this time the same computer glitch sent them through time and space, exiting over earth. Receiving no communication from their home planet, the crew sent a loan ODST to recon. -After Human Arrival Day One- Celestia was to meet Commander Shepherd of the UNSC ship Liberty. The human soldier named Johnson stood next to her. He made first contact with the species, he was to be in the meeting. Seeing that the pony, human ruler was nervous Jason let out a chuckle, "don't worry princess, there is no need to be nervous. After a war like my species has been in, another is the last thing we want." "Well, what kind of war was it?" The princess asked "A horrible one, I was lucky enough to not have been deployed. Basic was grueling though. He chuckled "your acting more nervous then my step brother David when we had weapons check in basic this one time." The chuckle soon became a laugh "the idiot had dropped his smg and a Scorpion battle tank had ran over it. When he picked it up it looked fine. Then he went to remove the clip. The round exploded in the gun while it was in his hands." The laugh died down to a chuckle. "Man he got an ass chewing for that. But luckily it was because of a faulty holder on his back. So it wasn't all bad." The chuckle stopped completely "he was always like a true brother to me, hell, we looked so much alike that our Drill Sergeant called us "the wonder twins." A lone tear was shed, hidden from the princess. "He was a good friend." Celestia laughed a little "he sounds like he is lucky to...wait, was a good friend?" Celestia asked looking somber now. "Yeah, it's kinda hard to explain but our ship used to be able to travel through space in seconds, but a malfunction made us travel right next to a Covenant battle cruiser, he was killed in the first attack. We had to jump away, and our ship brought us home". Jason sighed. He then felt the alicorn hug him. "I'm sorry." She said hugging him. "It's okay princess" he said as he smiled at her, his blue eyes looked so beautiful to her. "Do you happen to know what happened to earth, why there are no humans?" She shook her head "no" and looked at him "when I came here, there where only animals. I used my magic to turn them into the races on this earth today. Some of the eagles and lions became griffins, some bulls and cows became the minotaur race, and all of the ponies became what they are, I attempted to make some into a comparable lover, who wouldn't age like me. But each attempt failed and thus the unicorns and pegasus's where born." She then felt a hug. "My turn to say I'm sorry princess" said the human. "Please, call me Tia" Celestia said. At that moment Shepherd walked in and smiled "hello your majesty" said the new human. After the meeting, Celestia was smiling, why she wasn't sure, but perhaps it was that Jason was staying with her. "So," she said as she walked though the palace eyeing him. She wrapped her arms around him "want to go and get something to eat? I'm famished" Without a second thought Jason spoke up "if its better then mess hall slop, ill eat it princess" A smile grew on Celestia's face, and was also giving him a low growl. "I said call me Tia." She said licking Jason's face teasingly, getting a chuckle from the marine. "And how's does cake sound?" -present- Celestia sighed, her memory wasn't of the meeting, all she could recall was the human who stood next to her. But now saw him in David, her David. No, not hers, he was Luna's. wasn't he? They where dating. Why did she feel like this about him? "Princess are you okay?" David asked seeing she had stopped. It was then she pushed David against a wall and her ears hugged her head as she growled. "Call me Tia, David" she said kissing him forcefully slipping her tongue into his mouth. She loved the taste of his mouth. ~your going to share with mommy this time Luna~ Tia thought. -Earth 2542- A wedding was taking place. One was an older male, dressed in ODST dress blues, his hair was a dark blonde, and his eyes where blue, his bride had blue eyes as well. People born on earth where blessed with blue eyes, but still only ten percent of humans where born on earth at this time. To the left stood one other man in ODST dress blues, the grooms brother and best man. And two boys, one age twelve, and one eleven. Both David smiled as Jason became his brother and so did Jason. The two wore military academy dress blues. They did not know how much their life's would change. After the wedding they where at the dinner party and standing against a wall as their dads best man walked up to the two brothers "so boys, you going to be ODST like you old man and I?" He asked. With a smile and a nod, both boys said in unison "yes sir." As the night went on, laughs shared and pictures taken, David didn't know that this would be one of his last happy memories. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Nine: A Vault of Memories //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Nine: A Vault of Memories Chapter Nine: A Vault of Memories As David returned the kiss, a blush grew on his face as he felt a hand on his gut moving lower. Grabbing her hoof and spinning her, pinning her to a the wall he broke the kiss. "Celestia stop. This is wrong, I'm going out with Luna." He was once again pinned and kissed again. Breaking the kiss Celestia spoke "guess I cant help myself Jason," stopping she looked down grabbing a candelabra on a wall, and pulling it down as a secret door opened as she led him into it. The door slammed shut behind them and lights started to glow down a set of stairs. Celestia's horn glowed and they appeared at the bottom of the stairs. Pulling another switch on the wall, a door opened to a massive room. And inside of it lay the Liberty. The look on Celestia's face started to show pain. Seeing this David reacted pulling her close to him and hugging her. It was now that without his armor he could feel how warm she was. "It's okay princess, I told you, I'm not mad at what you did." A loan tear fell down her face. She looked down into his eyes. His beautiful blue eyes. ~Why are you so kind~ she thought. -Earth 2548- Bootcamp, it was harsh, it was brutal, it was as close to hell one would want to get. But that was over. David and Jason had enlisted together after graduating the academy. David cleaned his sniper, taking it apart and putting it back together. He could do this blindfolded and cuffed. His brother Jason was cleaning his Lmg while sitting next to each other outside. "Hey Jason, did you get to do your drop yet?" Jason smiled slightly "not yet, have you done yours?" He asked. "Yeah," he said smiling as  he chuckling as a guy walked up and handed papers to David. David looked down as he read his orders "their sending me to Reach, I leave today." And so the brothers said goodbyes and David left, spending the next three years on reach, until one day he was called to orbital station delta and was dropped into hell. -present- As they stepped into the ship, the ships lighting started to turn on. As they turned the corner he noticed a set of ODST armor. It's tag was his brothers designate Delta 3-4-3. "Jason..." David fell to his knees. He saw bullet holes. He was shot but who...it was then he remembered what Celestia told him, a human gave his life to protect her and her child, Luna. A smile grew on his face as he stood and put a hand on the empty armor. "I'm proud of you, little brother" he turned to Celestia with a smile "Jason was my brother by marriage, ironically enough both of us have a pure earth bloodline and where born here. Giving us mostly identical looks." This got a reaction from Celestia, he was her lovers brother. She blushed slightly, mainly because the law said he would inherent her as his wife, something she wouldn't object. She saw him walking out of the room and fall owed. Then saw him enter the armory, why was he in here? She started to tense up. "Tia, would it be alright if I bring weapons from here, only to end this war your nation is in? If you saw no, I will not argue" he said looking at her. -Deep in Minotauria- A loud bang was heard then a smile grew on the a generals face. "So what's the effective range?" A engineer shrugged "our estimate is anywhere between ten to fifteen times greater then a bow and arrow. And that's just this smaller version. The cannons have a range of up to a half mile general Pain Bringer " he said with a smile. The minotaur general smiled "those ponies and that demon of Celestia's will suffer." He said with a chuckle "I want 5000 rifles and 250 cannons ready in two weeks, we will march and take Canterlot by force." //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Ten: The War Begins //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Ten: The War Begins Chapter Ten: The War Begins David sat on his bed and looked over his DMR, smiling slightly as this, and a magnum pistol where the only two weapons that Celestia allowed him. It was enough. He had ten clips each, it would have to do. Hearing a knock at his door, David stood and walked over, opening it and saw a soldier out of breath. The stallion was a bright red pegasus with a grey mane, his cutie mark was map. When he saw the human standing before him he was a little shocked, since he was expecting another pony. He then noticed the ODST's black jumpsuit, usually worn under the battle armor, two, bright gold bars, his captain insignia. The stallion then straightened up and saluted "Lieutenant Ruby Lance Sir!" He said with a manner that seemed right out of training. "At ease soldier, what's the matter?" David said standing before him with his arms crossed. "Sir, the Minotaurs, they are attacking Applelosa with a new weapon, it's like they have harnessed thunder itself!" The panicked pony said. David's eyes narrowed, he didn't like the way that sounded. "Send word to Celestia, tell her to get alpha team ready, she will know what I'm talking about, I'll meet you in the throne room" David said and turned walking towards his armor and weapons. -one week ago- "So, if I remember correctly, this thing is called a pelican right?" She asked as David started to gather marine armor into a transport warthog. "Correct," David said loading the fifth and final armor set onto the warthog. "Been on a few of them, but there is no need for it. Anyway, to answer your earlier question, this armor is for a few ponies, I'll need to modify them slightly. I need an elite team that can move quickly into enemy territory, wear an armor that can withstand the most powerful crossbow and be light enough to allow my squad to travel great distances without tire." David said as he helped the princess into the passenger seat and drove the warthog out of a hidden tunnel from under the mountain. Then hid the ground vehicle behind the castle. "So, are you worried we will be attacked? Or will you be attacking?" Celestia asked concerned. "I don't know princess, lets hope it's neither" David said holding his helmet. -the throne room- Five guards stood infront of the princess, none knowing why they have been called here. Ruby Lance stood at attention while the four battle hardened soldiers sat around the table more relaxed. All looking to the large doors as they opened and there stood their captain in full armor, DMR on his back, magnum on his hip. Ruby Lance stood shocked to see the all black armor. "You are all here because you have either proven your metal, or where at the top of your class in basic" David begin. "I'll say this only once, if you want out, raise your hand now" not one did. "Good, now Celestia and I have formed a new, elite squad of six guards. Nicknamed A-team, alpha squad will be a first response unit that will engage, and battle the Minotaurs to allow the main force to either secure, or evacuate a town. There is reports of a new weapon in the minotaur arsenal, I believe I know what it is." David looked at his new lieutenant "Okay lieutenant, tell us what you know." David ordered. The pegasus nodded "well, from what I saw was it looks like a stick of metal, that let out thunder, smoke and fire, then, regiment just fell to the ground, covered in blood, I was one of the lucky ones, I'm only the pegasus in my regiment got away." Ruby said, the room was silent. "They are called "guns" and from what the lieutenant described, they are muskets." David said as he started to explain his knowledge of them. "They use gunpowder to send a small metal object great distances and speed. " The group looked shocked at their enemies new ability. "This" David began and pointed to the DMR from his back "is a designated marksmen rifle. It was used by my kind many, many years ago. This is a far more advanced version of a musket. Both weapons can make your armor look like paper. That is why you will be wearing these" David lifted a cloth revealing the Marine armor. "Suit up, we leave in ten minutes." The five ponies left with their armor and David walked up to Celestia "I don't like the world changing like this" Celestia said looking down. "Don't worry Tia, if we are successful. We can end the war quickly, but you cannot stop progress princess, you either change with the world, or you fall to it." David said taking off his helmet. " damn, we could sure use a Spartan." He said with a chuckle. "What is a Spartan?" Celestia asked giving him a interested look. "Well, they are super soldiers, originally created to stop a civil war my race was in, where then repurposed to fight the covenant. I fought along side of one of them a couple times. He even saved my life" David chuckled then saw his squad walking in. He then put his helmet back on. "Okay men, grab your swords and your bows. Where leaving." -outside Canterlot castle- "Sir, what are we doing back here? The quickest way to Applelosa is by train" Ruby said with curiosity. David only smiled as he moved a few branches and revealing the warthog. "Not anymore, now get in." David ordered. Driving off road to avoid the city, and to quickly get to Ponyville, then Applelosa. -ten minutes later- Knocks rang out into the library, opening the door, there stood Princess Twilight, and in front of her, stood the alien soldier, but, he wasn't in his armor, and only in jeans, his strong torso shining with sweat. "Da..David what are you doi.." She was cut off by his lips, his tongue roughly invading her mouth and dancing with her own, he lifted her up, roughly grabbing her ass as he pinned her to a wall, her moans filled the library. She smiled thankfully because Spike was in Canterlot. "You don't know how long I've waited for this" she said kissing him, he smiled as his hand slid down her stomach. -knock knock knock- His rough, strong fingers sliding over her wetted slit. -Thud Thud Thud- his middle finger entering -BANG BANG BANG- Twilights eyes shot open as her dream shattered and she jumped out of bed. "JUST A MINUTE!" She yelled and quickly got dressed, her body desiring a finish that she couldn't give. Walking up to the door her hand grabbed the handle ~whoever this is, it better be important~ the lavender princess thought. -Ponyville- Parking the warthog in the everfree forest, David jumped out and looked around "alright men, each of you are responsible to go to each of the elements of harmony, once you get to them, escort then to the library. I'll meet you there. I'll keep in contact through your helmets headset, to speak, just press the button under you right ear on the helmet. Dont say anything on the radio until I break radio silence. You have your orders. Go." David said as they all took off to their given element, while he was given the princess. This order was from Celestia to secure these ponies and get them to safety. Reaching the library, David noticed the door was open, and the lights where out. Turning on his night vision, David spoke in a whisper "this is the captain David, the library is not secure, I repeat not secure, are the other five secure?" David asked grabbing his DMR. One after another, all five came back as a yes. "Good, get the VIP's to the warthog. Then hold position. I'll be there ASAP." And with that, David entered the library with his DMR aimed and ready. ~okay, lets go~ he thought... //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Eleven: The Rescue //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Eleven: The Rescue The Rescue David took a deep breath, clicking the safety off of his Designated Marksmen Rifle as he stepped into the library. His visors night vision shown books strewn about, furniture knocked over, and glass broken. His heart pounding in his chest as adrenaline filled his veins and heightened his senses. As the orbital drop shock trooper started to climb the stairs, voices could be heard. Voices that had a Minotairian accent. David raised his DMR up to his shoulder as he moved closer to the voices. "Heh heh heh, I say we rape this bitch first, before we kill her." One voice said. "Just for the hell of it." "Yeah, I agree, she's just a pony anyway" a second said. "Besides, it's not like she can stop us, her magic is being nullified and her limbs and wings are tied down" The first one chuckled "I do like a little bondage, come one, lets take care of her." "Yeah, that's not gonna happen" David said before firing off two rounds as he stepped out of the shadows. "Princess, are you oka..ouf!" The young princess sat stunned for a moment as the ODST cut the ropes and removed the magic restraint, she then jumped up and into her hero. "Yes! Thank you so much!" Twilight said jumping and embracing her rescuer in a hug. "They..they said they were.." She said between sobs as she released him. "Don't worry about it princess." David said "come one, we have to get you out of here." He turned to receive a punch to the helmet sending him onto his back. Rolling onto his feet the ODST chuckled, "now there is the minotaur strength I know." David said dropping his rifle. "So your the demon of Celestia's army, looks like your strength was nothing but rumor" the minotaur said stepping into the room. "My name is StrongArm, sergeant of the grand minotaur empire, and I will kill you, you pony filth." David grabbed his side arm and fired off two rounds. Seeing the minotaur fall to his knees, David walked over to him and leaned down to his face, "before you die, i'll let you know who brought about your end. My name is David, former ODST and current captain in the Royal Equestrian Guard, and I'm not a pony" with a smile, he took off his helmet, "I'm a human" he said pushing the minotaur over. Grabbing his DMR, and a musket, the ODST looked at Twilight "lets go." -everfree forest- "Where in tarnation is yer captain?" Applejack asked. "And is Twilight okay?" "Yeah! If your captain is as good as you say he is, why isn't he here?!" Rainbowdash demanded. As if on cue, Twilight ran out of the bush out of breath. David was a few seconds behind. "Twilight! Look out!" Rainbowdash said flying at David, thinking he was a threat. David only flipped her onto the ground, pinning her on her chest. "Rainbow no! This is their captain!" Twilight said as David released his grip on her. "Plus he saved me from...." Twilight trailed off. "Don't mention it." David said "really, don't. Not now at least." He looked at the warthog. "Shit, the Warthog won't carry all of us, unless..." David said putting a finger to his chin. "Well duh?! How do you expect a pig to do that" pinkie pie said. "Why would you make a poor little piggy do such a thing?!" Fluttershy demanded. "And ridding a pig, so uncouth" Rarity added. "No, a warthog is this vehicle, humans have tenancies to name war vehicles after things." David said. "Okay girls you sit in the seats. Twilight, your next to me. Men, you each stand next to your VIP, we will get them to Canterlot." David finished. "Sir what about Applelosa?" Ruby lance asked, this made Applejack's ears perk up. "What bout Applelosa?" What's going on?" Applejack demanded. Sighing David looked at the apple farmer "Applelosa is under threat of minotaur invasion." He got helped twilight into the jeep. "Don't worry, I won't let Applelosa fall." As everyone got into the jeep, David took off towards Canterlot, ~at least I hope it won't~. -Near Applelosa- Deep within a cave, a regiment of minotaur stood around a large stone door as it was pulled open. The cave was about 13,000 years old, and metal lined its walls. At the far end, stood a glass and metal cylinder. "Your highness, Sergeant Strong Arm failed. The princess, Twilight Sparkle got away" a younger minotaur said, running into the cave, and bowing "king Iron Shield?" "It does not matter, we found a way to defeat their demon, with one of our own" Iron Shield said looking at a cryo tube. "And this metal monstrosity will be how." //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Twelve: An Old Enemy and An Ancient War //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Twelve: An Old Enemy and An Ancient War An Old Enemy and An Ancient War Part One Sleeping in a vehicle wasn't a foreign idea to David, an ODST got sleep when they could, but David often found the ground more comfortable, as he did right now, just outside of Applelosa, David was getting some much needed bunk time after nearly two days of being awake. He had sent his lieutenant, Ruby Lance out to scout the enemy size and position. Sleeping peacefully, the events that transpired earlier still running through his head. -Canterlot Castle- "I see." Celestia said with her finger on her chin in contemplation, "this is a bold move for them. Very bold." She turned to Luna. "Sister, what do you think?" she asked with a concerned look. "This is very troubling dear sister. They attacked a Princess." Luna said with a pause, "it means none of us are safe." She then looked at David with a confused look, a finger on her chin as she thought for a moment, then spoke. "You said that they called you a demon, a title only given to these things called spartans, can you tell us more about them?" Luna asked crossing her arms over her chest. David sighed, no point in keeping protical. "If ONI was still around, they'd have my ass for this. Spartans are modified humans, their muscle, bone and even neurological structure has been modified to be stronger, respond faster, and are much, much harder to kill. I have seen a spartan take down a squad of elites. The covenant would call the Spartans "Demons", the only thing that would have a chance to take down a Spartan, would be an Elite Zelot." David said nearly shuddered at the thought. Celestia took a deep breath. "Well, Captain, thank you for that information, please take your squad to Applelosa. Remove any Minotaurian military that is near there, and report back quickly." Celestia said and smiled, "and if i remember correctly, this was your favorite type of gun?" She levitated a sniper with six clips of ammuntion to him. "Go, save my people, and return quickly." "Yes Princess." David replied turned and was greeted by a face full of blue, furry breast. "Be safe my love." Luna said planting a loving kiss on Davids lips. With smile, David broke the kiss, "I will." -Alpha Squad's Camp Grounds- Ruby Lance came flying trough the brush, his chest rising and falling quickly, his lungs felt like they where on fire. "Captain! Captain!" Davids eyes instantly shot open as he grabbed his DMR and pulled the hammer back, ensuring there was a round in the chamber. Quickly getting to one knee, his DMR at the ready he looked around, only to see all his other squad mates jumping to their feet, armor and helmets off, but saw a panicked pegasus infront of him. "What is it lieutenant?" David asked in a raised voice. "Sir! A new class of enemys, at least fourteen of them, all in large gold and sliver armor, at least twelve feet tall. But, their jaws, they looked, weird, like the bottom was split." Ruby rushed out. David stood, shocked for a second before he grabbed his helmet and pulled it on over his head. Final Chapter: "Well, here is the good news, It is not as bad as i thought" David said to his lieutenant. He knew he had to bring these elites down now, and luckily, a little raid helped save the remaining towns folk the previous night. Lining up a shot, David took a deep breath, -Appleosa- "Captain, what are we doing?" a hushed whisper came from Ruby Lance. "Well lieutenant, we are going to infiltrate the Mauritanian prison camp, rescue the towns folk, eliminate any minotaurs we see, destroy their weapons cache, and hall ass out of here before those damned abominations get here" David said in hushed tone. "Now stay here for a moment, I'll take out the guards." Slipping through the shadows, the ODST took out the sword Luna had given him and his combat knife. Now just feet away he trough the smaller blade into the throat of the further minotaur before running his sword through the closer ones neck, efficiently killing them both. removing his blades from the fallen bull men, he spoke on the radio "All clear, move forward" Repeating this process, the ODST soon found a weapons cache of gunpowder, dynamite, muskets and armor, enough to destroy most of the town, if detonated, or shot. David smiled as a plan popped into his head before he ran out of the building. Soon finding himself in front of a cage, holding only a few of the townsfolk. "If yer here to torture me, ah hate ta disappoint ya but ah ant talk'n" a tan colt with amber hair and faded green eyes said, his jacket was warn an tattered. The young colts eyes reminded him of his own when he first witnessed the death of civilians in New Mombasa. "I am Captain David Smith of Celestia's Royal army. We are here to save you." the soldier before he unlocked the cell. "We dont have much time, lets go" leading the last few survivors out of the town. "A-Squad, meet up, I need you to extract the V.I.P'S, I need to deal with something else." -Present- Memorizing where the weapons cache was, David took aim, took a deep break, and -boom- fired off a round, then quickly aimed at the split elites, boom, boom, boom, three down, a hell of a lot more to go. "Spot for me lieutenant" David commanded as he found a group of minotaurs line up in battle lines through his scope, then their king commanding them "too easy" boom, boom, boom, boom. Every minotaur eliminated. Now, the hard part. "Captain, those big things are running this way!" Ruby yelled as he started to look panicked "Stay calm solider!" David yelled as he fired off another clip, dropping one of the Zealot Elites. "Fuck, i hate those things" he yelled slamming another clip into place, this time, taking out only two "well, one squad down" He said before firing off more rounds, taking down four more elites, slamming another clip into place, a dreaded sound made the ODST shiver "JAM! lieutenant run!" David yelled as he saw the active camouflage on the remaining zealot go on. David could see the red outline through his helmet just fine, but knew the stallion next to him couldn't. Picking up his DMR, David emptied one clip, taking down another elite, then another, and another before it too jam. "Fuck" The ODST turned to run but came face to face with the last elite, the Zealot. "So you human filth, I figured you all had died" the Zealot said with a, what David could only figured as a grin as the alien turned off his active camouflage. "The feeling is mutual bug" David said throwing down his helmet and his DMR. "now, lets finish this." David said as he started to run at the elite. Knife in hand, and dodging the elites first slash, the ODST got into striking distance and slashed the knife across the gut of the Zealot, only to earn a back hand from the beast, knocking him onto his back. "Die you fitly human" the zealot yelled as he drove his sword at David, impaling the soldier in the gut. Chuckling, the elite lowered his face to the elite "now human, you will die" Coughing up some blood, David chuckled. "yeah, its not gonna happen like that." David pressed the button on a plasma grenade he stole from the elite when he slashed him then punched the Zealot in the mouth, forcing the grenade to stick to the elite. putting his foot on the elite's chest, he kicked him away as hard as he could, shoving him just far enough away before the grande exploded, killing the elite. "well, that's it..." David said as darkness took him. -Canterlot Rose Garden- Two Alicorns stood in front of a statue of a black armored figure, the darker Alicorn holding an infant child, the older, white Alicorn put her arm on her daughter "I wish you could have met him. He was just like David" Celestia said as she smiled at the statue. "Yeah, looks just like him too" David said as he limped towards the two, now out of his uniform, and in what one could only describe as a "Prince's out fit". Chuckling David smiled "i wish he was here, but he always did the right thing. " Smiling at Celestia, David chuckled "was he still stubborn as a box of rocks?" David asked, humor in his voice. David was part of an elite squad of soldiers called O.D.S.T. or Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, they where the USNC's equivalence of Navy Seals. Little did he know, or anyone on the spaceship he was stationed on knew, but awaiting the UNSC Liberty was a Covenant ship, and soon fell under attack attack. The Covenant was a group of multiple alien races.  There where the Grunts, dangerous in groups of ten to one, the banthafoder of the Covenant. Then you had your Jackles, often the sharpshooters of the Covenant, they proved deadly for their erratic running and speed, but where often picked off easily with a couple of well placed DMR rounds. Then you had the Drones, nasty little buggers, they could cause quite a mess in numbers, but still easily killed. Then you had the Engineers, prisoners of the Covies, but very good with electronics of both Human or covenant tech. You also had your Hunter, as dumb as a box of rocks, but strong as a Scorpion battle tank. Next you had your Brutes and Elites, both had a few class, from your basic soldier class, which proved tough to any ODST, then you had your Brute Chieften and your Elite Zelot, they could even prove tough to a Spartan. As the Liberty fell under fire, alarms started to blare and the cryo tubes woke up every single soldier on the ship. But as fate would have it, David was sent out into space when the first plasma round hit the ship, he never was woken up. For thousands of years his cryo tube floated in the vast void and darkness of space. The Covenant, Humans, Flood and even the Forerunners, have been extinct for years. As Davids cryo tube floated through the vast emptiness of space, it was tugged towards a planet by gravity, and as fate would have it, to his new life. -Planet Equis- Waling out and crossing her arms, a older white furred mare with a multicolored mane and tail that seemed to blow in a non existent breeze. She smiled as she looked down at her younger sister. "Your moon looks absolutely stunning tonight, dear sister" Celestia said looking back up. Pausing, she saw something moving in the night sky. "What is that?" "I see it two Celestia" Luna said as her wings flared out and her horn lit up, as the cryo tube started to fall into the atmosphere, it was stopped and brought to the surface of the world. "Sister!" Luna yelled. "There is somepony in here!" Sensing that the cyro tube was now in atmosphere, and a breathable one, its computer hissed and opened, letting its inhabitant fall out and onto the ground. -David- David soon found himself on the ground, gasping for breath, he looked up to see a pure white humanized horse, her hair and tail resembled a flowing rainbow of, her fur pristine white had she had magnificent wings on her back and a horn upon her forehead. Her body could rival the greatest super models of Earth. She raised her eyes as she looked at him. The soldier slowly stood, his black armor hiding every inch of his body except his fingers. "What matter of creature are you?" another regal looking female said as she stepped over to David. He took his helmet off and looked at the strange women. "I'm a human, where am I?" his vision still blurred from what cryo sleep. The women new much of humans, who created, where enslaved them over 13,000 years ago, and she lead a revolt in a war and killed off all humans.  Her eyes narrowed as she pinned the human with one hand. "Listen human, I will not let you enslave my kind, I would kill you now if it weren't for the fact your kind are superior warriors" David struggled against her, damn she was strong, he felt his breathing become harder before she locked eyes with him, she gently let him go. "And, you don't seem like the others, your eyes, they still show a soul." She turned and walked away from him, it was now that he saw he was in what looked like a laboratory. Looking back into his eyes, Celestia thought ~but is that my only reason?~. "Wait, miss. would you please tell me where i am?" David asked, stopping the pony women in her tracks. The regal anthro turned and with a sly smile, one that could only be mastered by royalty, she spoke "you are in equestrian, on planet earth, the year is 13000, AH, after humans that is." She started to walk off, then look back "and you would be wise to call me Princess Celestia." A guard walked into the room and spoke "fallow me" he said leading David to another room with only a bed and oil burning lamp. "Dr. Lyra Heartstrings will be here to examine you, your to do everything she says, if you comply, you'll be free to go." The door slammed shut, leaving David alone with his thoughts. Still trying to comprehend everything that had happened since he woke up, letting out a sigh and David decided to lay down on the bed, a hay bed with a goose feather pillow, and looking a the lamp, noticing it was an oil burning lamp, he thought for a moment "do they not have technology?" David then closed his eyes and started to drift off into sleep, but was awoken by a mint fur colored women who only had a horn and a knowledge lust look in her eye bursting into the room through the door. He shot up out of bed but before he could say a word, she pulled the ODST off the bed, eager to study a human. "By Celestia it's true!" The female said as she started to push David into the laboratory. There were now three ponies, as David thought of them as, two of the ponies were female, both looked very good as body shape went, if they where like humans, making David wonder why they where so close to human . One of the two females had an almost midnight blue fur wings and a horn, and who's tail and hair where also multi colored, he remembered her as the other regal looking pony. The other had yellow fur and pink hair, and seemed almost sheepish. Who smiled at the sight of the human. His attention soon turned to Lyra, who was in awe of him. "Wow a real human! How old are you!? What kind of human are you?! A Pegasus human, earth human or unicorn human?! Do you not have fur?! Do you have a cutie mark" noticing the emblem of ONI on his armor "what is this symbol? What does it stand for?" Lyra was only settled by the dark blue regal pony putting her hand on Lyra's shoulder. "Settle Miss Heartstrings, we are as eager as thou to learn of this human" the blue unicorn pegasus said. "I am princess Luna, I am an alicorn like my older sister" she said with a light smile. "Tell me human, what are thou called? And why does thou wear armor?" "I am ODST Sergent Smith of the UNSC, and for the armor, I am a soldier, my species was nearly whipped out by the Covies" he said and looked at the door. "but seeing as your not USNC or ONI personnel, you may call me David. "Your a soldier?" Luna asked, his armor was not that of equestrian. She noticed this, and he stood her sisters height. "Are thou here to help with our war?" David didn't know this, but Equestria was on the verge of war with the Minotaira, the minotaur homeland, a country to the west. "War? What war?" he asked. ~well, that explains the warrior part~ he thought ^dammit, what the hell are you hiding Celestia? Chapter Two: I Was Wrong It had been a month since he had first arrived on Planet Equis, he had done all the test that Dr. Heartstrings had request, given just about every type of sample, and filled up on Equestria's history, But something didn't feel right, like Celistia was lying. He pressed her for more information, but she wouldn't say a word. David couldn't get her words "your kind are superior warriors" out of his mind. Have humans been here before? And why did she look at me like that? But that was then, and this was now. David had to have his mind clear. He had to focus on the now. David sighed and sat up off of his cot and stepped out into the harsh sun. Sighing he darkened his visor to shield his eyes. "Captain!" he heard a voice yell and saw a blue Pegasus stallion run up to him "the Minotaurs are on the move! They are have an army with at least a thousand warriors armed with crossbows and spears!" The stallion panicked. "They captured and killed a scouting group, and advancing! What do we do!" The ODST looked at the pony through his visor, a hidden frown grew on his face, war, he hatted it, but at least this time, he could intimidate the enemy into submission. The soldier picked up his sword that princess Luna gave to him... that wonderful night a few days ago. ~flashback~ "David!" A feminine voice said as its owner jumped into a hugged David. Around the castle David usually just wore his black jump suit designed to keep him cool in his armor, or warm depending on the climate. "I was afraid you left already, but I'm glad you didn't, here" she said handing him a sword. "It's the strongest material in Equestria, I had it made black to match your armor and..." she said with a smile. He looked at her and gave her a hug "thank you princess" this caught a glare from her as she crossed her arms "I told you to call me Luna."she said with a chuckle. "Hey David..." Luna blushed as her hands fidgeted behind her back. Smiling softly she spoke "David.." she paused "I love..." "...Captain!" brought out of his memory David snapped to reality and looked at who called out to him. "Captain, the Minotaurs are holding at the river, what are they doing!?" Yelled a stallion. "Oh god I don't want to die!" Yelled another. "Why are they doing this?! Why are they killing ponies for no reason!" Cried another. David heard just about enough "LOCK IT DOWN!" He barked silencing all the panicking ponies, about 100 in total. Ensuring his carbon fiber knife was secure in his armors sheath, and his sword on his back he looked at the minotaurs across the plain, silence, not even a bird chirp, not the smallest insect. The calm before the storm, he hatted it.  "Lieutenant!" He yelled and the blue pony from earlier ran up to him. "I'm going to try to negotiate" The blue stallion looked nervous and all the ponies where in ear shot "but sir! They out number us ten to one! How are.." "I Said lock it down. Now listen up, every pony! I once was in a battle against something called elites, big ugly ass alines with split-jaws, they stand about teen feet tall and the make these ignorant bull-men look like a kitten with yarn. My squad of ten where out numbered three to one,   all but three of us where killed. But those seven men died protecting women and children. They where able to escape certain death. So, think of home, of some pony you love, your special some pony. That will all end if we fail here, if the Minotaurs get through. But we will not fail here, we will not let them through, they will not win as so long as there is air in our lungs! We will fight to the last stallion! And we will win!" David shouted an encouraging speech, getting a thunderous roar out of the now brave stallions. He looked at the lieutenant, "hold the line, lets pray battle eludes us today." And with that he took out his sword and handed it to him. "If they attack, bring this to me." The captain set out into the plain, the Minotaurs where about 1000 meters away. As he walked a memory crawled back to his fore front ~in the great hall~ "Your majesty, I implore you in to give the demands of the Minotaurs, they only want the land that's rightfully theirs" a pony with a black mane and grey coat said, his name was TenderFoot. "We can avoid war and let our ponies be safe" it was at this moment that the princess turned to David. Celestia pondered on this for a moment, before turning to the black armored human standing in the room "What do you think David?" She asked the human who was looking at maps, geographical and of locations, he was in the middle of drawing towns, rivers, forest areas that if a battle took place, would give the Equestirians the advantage. David started "well princess, from the looks of the Minotairian movements against other nations, they have taken towns, and no one in the town is heard from. Reports from Zebekistan state that villages have been captured, and not a single villager has been heard from." He said finishing the map and took out a red pin and started marking known Minotaur movements into other nations and then a yellow into Equestria where he guessed the Minotaurs would go, fallowing the same geographical patterns from the other countries. "They don't just want a small piece of land, they want it all, the entire world, and they will kill every single stallion, mare and foal to get it." He looked at her "Princess, they mean to to cleanse this planet of the "unfit". They want to kill us all." the Princess had a horrified expression. When Tenderfoot spoke earlier, David noticed this -either he has the best poker face, or- the Princess walked up to David. She let out a sigh, "when you first arrived, I thought you a monster, I judge you on sight, but I was wrong, I knew I was wrong the moment I looked into your eyes, it taken until now for me to realize it." she said and had a light blush, not meaning to show emotion like that to her subjects. She was scared, but not many could see this, only two in the room could, no pony else could "take a regiment, and go take on this threat, Captain" she promoted him to the highest rank in her military. "PRINCESS I MUST ADVISE AGAINST THIS!" Tenderfoot began. "THIS HAIRLESS APE COULD BE A SPY FOR THE MINOTAURS!" "I made my choice, TenderFoot, and it is done" David wondered if the Princess noticed TenderFoot's strange behavior too, almost like...a traitor. -The present- David had stopped half way between his regiment of ponies and the Minotaur army. He noticed the a Minotaur in shiny steel armor approaching...this was it, would it be war or would it be peace? He asked not knowing that the armored figure was actually a human and had a suit that that would make steel look like tissue paper fighting a katana. ~flash back~ He had just dropped into Reach, his drop team lost three of the six soldiers in the drop, it was him, Sergent Recker "Tex" Johnson, and the Master Chief, mission was simple enough, link up with Fire Team, and get Chief to the pillar of autumn. Simple enough right? His pod slowed and slammed into the ground jumping out he garbled his sniper rifle and shotgun. "Clear" he said on his radio, no red motion detection, only yellow. Soon Tex and Chief where next to the young soldier. "Let's get out of this vally, there's no cover" the chief said, both ODST agreed. This mission, they where Bantha fonder, they knew it. Once they found a shallow cave, the checked for buggers, clear. Good news. "LZ is two clicks to the east, ONI wants us to take out the AA positioned here, here and here" Tex said looking up at an unusually quite David. "Hey private, what's up, you haven't said shit since we got planet side." Dave took a breath "It seems to quite, the AA took out half our squad, and yet no search party to takes us down, it don't sit well" he said holding his sniper in a ready position, setting his visor to max for motion detector. "What do you think chief?" With an agreeing nod, the chief spoke up. "I agree, let's get out of here," and with that the rag tag team left the cave heading for a small town. As they got into the town, they saw one of the AA guns and took it down. "This I'd Sierra 117, AA is down" as if on cue the radio cracked to life "This is Sarge, AA is down, take that you damn scum bag!" A unknown voice chipped in. Then another voice came in on the radio, a female voice "this is Noble 2, AA is down." "This is Noble Actual, sword bass is under fire, all available assets assist" at that moment, a shot ran out, and pink punctuated Tex in the chest, before his body hit the ground, chief eliminated the jackal that killed the good sergeant. The ground started to shake "PRIVATE RUN!" The chief commanded, but David was gone, running towards the Hunter emptying his snipers clip into it, every shot hit a vital spot, out of ammo, he dropped it, grabbed a grande and shoved it between the armor platting of the larger foe. This didn't go over well with the hunter. "GRAHHHHHH" the beast let out roar as it back handed David, crushing his chest plate and breaking two ribs, and his leg and sending him back ten feet, his helmet went flying off in another direction. Master Chief grabbed the private and pulled him away as the hunter exploded into nothingness. After the dust settled there lie a screaming David. He was in both physical and mental agony. "Let me go, I'll fucking kill them all! Every single one of them! And their fucking larva too!" His best fried just died, he was pissed. He wanted blood. "We need med evac, one critical, one KIA." he opened his med kit and pulled out a sedative, he then plunged the needle into Davids neck. Effectively rendering David unconscious. Chief saw two pelicans come in one was fire team, one the medevac. He picked up David's helmet and placed it on his chest. He also took Tex into his arms and brought him to the medevac, seeing that everything was in order, and briefing on how David got banged up "no shit? He took down a hunter? Kid got balls" the medic said. Chief then got on Fire Team's pelican and looked back at the medevac, "good luck private." ~present~ "Yeah, I'm in charge, and I'm hear to tell to that you will not pass into equestria" two guards with the large minotaur started to flank both of his sides, they drew there weapons. "If you contente, i'll kill you both" he looked at the commander of the Minotaurs "and you'll beg for something as sweet as pain when I'm done with you" The Minotaur laughed "kill this pony fool" the one on the right lunged first, David dodged and forced his attackers blade into the minotaur on the left. Forcing his attackers arm up he gutted one minotaur, drawing his own knife, he slashed open the minotaurs neck who was on the right. This all happened within 5 seconds leaving both armies stunned. The commander of the Minotaurs look on in horror as two of his best fell like leaves in the fall. "You will pay you pony" the panicked bull man said, causing David to laugh like an evil villain. "You think I'm a pony" he pressed his visors button showing a furless face. "You fight a human" by this time both armies where charging and David's lieutenant quickly flew up to him and dropped his sword to him. He caught it and blocked the commanders downward swing and slashed back, soon the entire battlefield was in combat, and the ponies where winning. The minotaur captain realized that he was losing, "RETRE..." He couldn't finish his words. His army captured, he was going to kill that "human" it was *WACK* the Minotaurs helmet fell off. And he hit the ground getting knocked out. "Secure the prisoners, burn the dead body's of the enemy. And collect their weapons." He said and looked down "and collect our dead, we're taking them home." He said it was then his lieutenant landed next to him. "Sir, we lost 15 sir. But we've captured 245, the enemy lost 415 in the battle. The rest fled" the lieutenant smiled "I don't know how sir, but the battle is ours" he nodded. Within hours orders where fallowed and they where on a train back to Canterlot. Sleep started to creep into David's vision, and he was out. The blade shattered, and the split jaw disappeared. He sighed as he woke up, still on the train, he looked over at his lieutenant who looked gave him worriedly "you alright captain, you where thrashing about real bad" Hidden to the world behind his helmet was a tear. David just nodded and laid backdown. ^Here we go again.^ he thought going slowly falling back asleep. ~October 20, 2552- David now a Specialist, was looking at the weapon rack, deciding which to grab. Well, being a marksmen made it easy for one, but he still had to chose a side arm. He grabbed his Sniper Rifle System 99-S5 Anti-Matériel and M7/Caseless Submachine Gun Making sure each Had a clip in them he shoved them into their holders in his drop pod. He was out of his armor, he was about to drop to the planet to take part in a drill. He stood about five foot four inches. His jet black hair was no longer regulation short, it was medium short, his face had a cut running over the left side of his lip. His bones where already healed. His blue eyes scanned over his armor, pristine, as always. He put his armor on, and looked at his ka-bar, a knife that was a recreation of a sword special forces used the twentieth century. But his however was made from carbon fiber. He looked at its sheath, it was black steel, and had a dog tag welded into the side against David's chest. It was Tex's tag. Tex... No longer crying for his friend, he locked the knife into its place and picked up his helmet and put it on. Alarms blared and lights started flash "attention all hands! We have covenant vessels exiting slip space!" The commander yelled, David quickly grabbed five extra magazine for each gun and slid them into the pockets of his armor. Running to the communication device in the armory he contacted the bridge "Command, this is ODST number D342, Specialist David Smith, I was about to drop to go train with marines, I am prepared to drop this second sir, permission to go engage the enemy" he said while saluting the monitor. The commander took a breath "I want you there yesterday, go show them who's planet this is" and with that the screen went black. David jumped into the pod, closing its door, he started to prep it for drop "This is ODST D342, dropping" his pod lurched and started to head for the planet. It didn't take a few minutes for him to make it to the panic filled streets of New Mombasa, his anti materiel rifle in hand looked at the civilians "get to shelter, go!" He said and saw a group of cops standing there "Hey! Lead these people to..." He trailed off seeing a rather large drop pod hit the street only 100 yards away, he fired a round into the air. "Get to shelter! NOW" he yelled and the civilians did what he said. Clicking on his visor he knew what was coming, elites, Zelot class. He had his rifle up, ready to fire. The door opened and a red outline showed. Boom, boom, boom, three shots, one dead Zelot, one empty mag. Reload, boom, boom, boom, another. He saw the last charging him, he took his time, aimed for the neck, boom, this time he dropped his rifle with a thud, and drew his knife, but didn't need to as the police open fire and dropped the Elite. Picking his rifle up he slid in his third mag. Two down, three to go. He placed his rifle on his back and grabbed his smg. He looked up just in time to see a pelican crash, he had to look for survivors, he hope there where some. The sight that met him surprised him "Chief?" ~present~ Sleep finally embraced him, but to him, he was just waking up, he was in a field, looking up at the stars, then he heard footsteps. He looked up and saw a familiar, feminine figure, she walked up to him, smiling "prince..." A finger met his lips, silencing him. The figure smiled "I told you to just call me Luna" she said In a sultry voice, then wrapped one arm around his back, the other onto his cheek. Her lips gently met his, causing him to slowly return her loving embrace. "Hey David, I lo.....*the train whistle made her voice en-audible, but her lips finished* "ve you". He woke up, the bright sun filled the room but to him, it didn't matter, what woke him was sound. A train whistle went off again. They where in Canterlot, he yawned under his helmet and stretched, that was the first good nights sleep he had since before he joine, was it because of the dream of her? Canterlot train station was busy with the recently victorious pony army. Captain David sensed something was, off, he scanned the area and noticed a cloaked pony at the far end, hiding behind a corner of the building, looking as if they where waiting for somepony. He needed to hear what was going on. He marked the pony with his visor and targeted them for audio. He started to direct his troops transporting the prisoners to line them up at the train station. It was then he heard the pony talk as another pony walked up to the first hooded pony, he knew the voice instantly. "Hello Commander Diamond Shield" Tenderfoot said "how are plans for tonight? How many ponies are loyal to the cause?" He continued, the ODST walked over to a bench and sat down, watching as his soldiers loyally fallowed his orders, good, he feared he would need their loyalty soon . He then heard Diamond Shield talk "it just you, myself, and four guards." He said calmly. A chuckle came from Tenderfoot "good, I can't wait to see the pain on that humans face as I slay pathetic princess of the night, I might rape her first before I kill her, then I'll kill him too!" A chuckle came from Diamond Shield. "We still have old Sun Butt and that damn sorry excuse for a pony Twilight. She should never have been given that power" Diamond Shield said "but a problem is that brother of hers. I'll kill him myself" he continued. " Tonight a new rule will rise" he paused for a moment " Let the black hand grip the sword, and may your strike be true" he stopped, and Tenderfoot finished "slay the demon, so that Gods may die." The both said "the brotherhood of Kings shall rise again." Hidden to the world, David's eyes held hatred. He quickly wrote down a letter explaining what he just heard "Princess Celestia, I have grave news, I just discovered of a plot to kill you, Twilight, Luna, Shinning Armor and myself, two of the conspirers are non other than Tenderfoot and Diamond Shield. I'm making a plain to counter these enemy's to the crown. I believe they will strike at the strategy meeting tonight, I request that Luna is not informed, I will be sending my most trusted soldier to protect protect you and Princess Twilight, trust no one in the royal guard. As for Luna,  I will defend her myself. I want you to tell your guards my soldiers are for added protection with the enemy soldiers just brought in. You loyal Captain, David" he rolled it up, and wrote a spell on it and lit it on fire, sending it in a puff of magic. It was now he called over his lieutenant over " Lieutenant   Braveheart, I have troubling news" he explained the situation, a look of anger burned in his eyes. "Captain" Braveheart said. "I'll defend the Princesses to my last breath. What are my orders?" David looked down and sighed, he motioned for a pony with pure plack fur, and a matching mane, by the name of Nightwings to come over to him. Turning back to Braveheart "you take Nightwings and go do security detail for Princess Celestia and Twilight" he said as he watched rest of his soldiers taking care of the prisoners. He mumbled under his breath "God I hate war". -New Mombasa, October 20th, 2552- "Master Chief" David said running up to the Spartan and helped him stand up " i heard on the radio you took down a corvette by yourself, not bad sir" the chief looked at him. "Where's your unit?" He asked looking around, the Chief saw him look down. "I've lost contact with Liberty shortly after landing, sir" David started but then heard his radio crack "this is ODST Fire Team Phoenix, we are pinned down by six ugly ass Hunters, need support over. Chief and David shared a glance and took off in Phoenix's direction. They where above the battle, and the hunters where right below him, David needed stopping power, he grabbed his anti materiel rifle and popped off its suppressor and started to open fire, four shots ran out. One down. The hunters next to him assumed it was the marines they had pinned, then another four shots, another down, Chief in the meantime had jumped down and fought two hand on hand, David quickly loaded boom boom boom boom, a third dropped, chief had dropped one and was in the middle of fighting the second when a rock came flying in and blew up the other. David looked up seeing at least 10 squads of marines getting out of pelicans. One picked up the Master Chief, who gave the ODST one last glance and nod, as like "good job soldier." Then flew up into the air. Another pelican came to pick up David, he didn't know this but this would be the last time he saw earth, at least, with humans on it. The drop ship flew up and docked with Liberty, he figured there was a communication glitch, and that's why he lost contact. A voice came on over the PA system " all soldiers to cryo tubes, prepare for slip space departure." Without hesitation, he headed to his cryo tube but was stopped by the admiral, with a salute the admiral spoke "at ease, I heard of what you did on the battlefield, good job, Sergeant" and like that, David was promoted. -back in Canterlot- David stepped into to main hall with Luna, his heart pounding. He wore only the skin tight suit that ODST wore for "formal" events, mostly in front of superior officers or when receiving medals. The two traitors and the four he guessed as their cohorts stood at the foot of the staircase leading to the throne room. Once at her throne, Luna sat. And Tenderfoot began. "Princess, the recent battle that, that "thing" was proof that that monster is dangerous. I advise you" Celestia cut him off. "SILENCE" Celestia bellowed in a voice that shook the very earth. "I trust David with my very life, his loyalty is true and pure, unlike you, you traitorous fith!" It was then that tenderfoot lost it. He lunged up the stares but the other traitors were not with him. Davids soldiers and the personal guard already had them either in battle or captured.  David got between Tenderfoot and the princesses. Tenderfoots had thrusted his knife his into flesh, drawing fresh blood, Luna could only look on in horror... To be continued.
