It began as any addiction did. Trying something for the first time to a small extent, maybe with some hesitation, probably not thinking it through too much. Acting on an impulse. Saying "I can stop anytime I want." And then eventually you find yourself in a hole you dug for yourself and now it's too deep to get out, but you're still telling yourself "I can stop anytime I want," even though you and everyone around you knows you can't. Of course, there's some sort of reasoning behind every addiction. Whether it be smoking or cutting or eating or buying so many cats that the stagnant scent of cat urine and hair follows you around no matter where you go, in the end you're addicted to whatever it is for one main reason: it makes you feel better. It relieves the stress of daily life and takes your mind off of the things that trouble you most.
However, most addictions have a negative impact in the long run; as they say, if it's too good to be true, it probably is. This was the case for Nirrimi and her addiction. Never did she think that she would go so far with her obsession with murder as she had, nor that her closest friends would ever become a pawn in her little game. She never expected to get caught. She never dreamed she'd let her growing bloodlust take over her life.
But it did.
The alabaster unicorn was giddy with excitement. Sweetie Belle was having a sleepover with the Crusaders over at Sweet Apple Acres and since today was a minor holiday - something to do with the government - Rarity reserved the right to close shop early. So as her last customer of the day left the boutique, she trotted over to the display window with an eager and flipped the 'open' sign over and locked the doors. This evening she had a lot to do.
There was something about murder that filled Rarity with a rush of adrenaline. Something about inhaling that intoxicating scent of fresh blood made her feel truly alive. When the blood coated her hooves and coat she couldn't help but think it looked gorgeous. The ruby red accessory splattered across her face and chest so exquisitely, it looked so effortless yet expertly placed. It was a type of beauty Rarity could only hope to achieve in her own work one day.
Rarity dreamily swooshed behind the front desk of her shop. Her white horn was set ablaze by her blue aura which first shut all the blinds of the windows then rapidly possessed multiple objects from underneath the counter, bringing them all up into view. She laid them on the countertop and began sorting through them. She had so many toys to choose from, so many subjects, and yet so little time to do it all. She had so many wonderful ideas and scenarios she wanted to fulfill, but could only do so many things at a time. It was a dilemma no doubt, but that didn't keep Rarity from trying. The mare filed through her blueprints and outlines, deciding how she wanted to deal with tonight's murder, carefully choosing her weapons, order of operations, et cetera. She wanted tonight's session to be perfect.
Less than a week ago, one of Rarity's closest long term friends was released from the penitentiary. About a year ago Fluttershy was sentenced to a year in jail after beig found guilty of the torture and murder of countless small animals. Police found the awfully mutilated corpses buried everywhere on the premises and multiple closets with preserved bodies. Of course Rarity, being a murderer herself, was at first a little upset Fluttershy never told her about this. She could have helped her grow into a more sophisticated killer, who would have never gotten caught so easily. Soon after, she realized that what Fluttershy was doing was far more sick than the business Rarity was in. Animals couldn't help themselves in situations like the ones Fluttershy was putting them in. They were innocent, helpless creatures that were no match for a full grown mare, even one like Fluttershy. Rarity speculated that after being pushed around by so many ponies, Fluttershy had had enough and wanted to feel like she was in power for once. This was often how most rapists behaved, but the diagnosis seemed fitting for Fluttershy as well. After making this judgement Rarity decided that no amount of time in jail could make Fluttershy pay for the things she had done. But she knew what would, and today was the day it was all going to go down. Any minute now, Fluttershy would be knocking on the door and Rarity would be serving her hot tea with just enought sugar to mask the taste of date-rape drug in her drink.
Rarity was happily sorting through her weapons when there was a light tapping on the door. "Oh goodie, I'll bet that's Fluttershy now!" she said to herself excitedly as she quickly put her tools back under the desk. She unlocked the door with a sphere of her aura and greeted Fluttershy cheerily. "Dahling, it's been quite some time!" The yellow Pegasus entered cautiously.
"Hi, Rarity," she said quietly. Rarity expected that prison would have toughened her up but judging by the softness of her voice and step she was still rather timid.
"Oh dearie, I missed you so much!" Rarity half lied through her teeth. "Come into the kitchen, I have some tea for you."
"...I'm surprised you still want to talk to me... After all, what I did was pretty terrible..."
"Now, now, Fluttershy. True friends can always forgive each other. I may be a little more wary now, and also a little bit worried, but we can certainly still be friends."
The two moved into the kitchen. Rarity levitated the teapot over two glasses and poured the steaming liquid into them. "Sugar, dear?" she asked over her shoulder.
"Hummm, yes please..." Fluttershy replied as she pulled out a chair to sit in.
The unicorn tore open a package of rohypnol with her magic and poured it into Fluttershy's cup, then added the sugar. She possessed a spoon and stirred the two substances into the tea until the rohypnol wasn't tastable.
