Cheerilee shuffled slowly towards her door. This was her night, yet she couldn't be more nervous. She had been going out with her boyfriend for nearly a month, and finally she was going to let him have her. Despite their obvious attraction Cheerilee could only think about how badly she could managed to ruin it for herself.
She was practically paranoid about her personal hygiene and worried that, for some reason, she might come off as unappealing. Her heart beat wildly as she stopped at the door. It seemed like it was towering over her, mocking her, making her feel horridly insignificant. A soft voice rattled Cheerilee as she reached for the handle. "Cheerilee, you okay in there?"
Cheerilee muttered to herself as she undid the lock and took a deep breath. "Fine...it's unlocked." Her nerves stemming from her previous night with a human. She was so needy around him she ended up scaring him away, leaving her crushed and wondering if Big Mac was still available.
The door clicked open, making her heart jump as started to swing open slowly. Her breath caught in her throat as her date peeked into the room. "Cheerilee, hey- oh...are you alright?" Cheerilee's date, a young man named Mark, walked into the entry. "You look a little, flustered."
Cheerliee touched her hoof to her forehead, dabbing sweat off her brow and turning away. "I'm fine. So...are you ready to go?"
Mark shook his head. "I was thinking...we've been going out for dinner a while, every Sunday now."
Cheerilee grew nervous. "Yes...it's been great, I love spending time with you!"
Mark nodded as he rested his hand on the doorway. "I know, so do I. But I was thinking, you wanna just...spend the night together?" Cheerilee's heart jumped as Mark spoke. "I mean, I brought-" Mark pulled a rather large bottle of wine from his satchel. "-This. Bought it from Berry, she said it was the best we had in the shop."
Cheerilee's heart forced itself into her throat. "I- spend the night!? Together!? I-I-I don't know, I have papers to grade, I promised I'd help Sweetie Belle with her poetry, I--" Mark cut her off, walking over and putting his free hand on her neck. Cheerilee's body lit up, burning hot under his touch. "I- I'll order something...." Cheerilee ran off, finding her phone and dialing for the quickest fancy meal she could find.
Mark stuck the bottle in his satchel and walked towards Cheerilee. She was mid order as he stepped next to her. "Yes...sounds--" Cheerilee stopped dead as Mark cradled her head and planted a kiss into her neck. The phone dropped, clattering against the floor as Cheerilee's legs turned to jelly.
"Hello? Hello? Are you--" Mark hung up the phone, effectively canceling the order.
Cheerilee locked in place as Mark rubbed her neck, gracing her cheek with his hand. "I'll make something quick." With that, Mark walked calmly towards Cheerilee's kitchen.
"W-wait!" Cheerilee shrieked as she ran after him. "I don't think I'd have anything worth- worth- I mean...I don't want to make you eat something you don't want." Cheerilee explained, tapping her hoof on the tile. "I don't think you'd like hay...I--"
"Cheerilee, I'm not cooking for me." Mark noted as he started throwing together a basic salad. "I'll find something to eat...who knows, maybe you'll have something sweet for me." Mark added a naughty grin as he finished making a quick meal for Cheerilee, who, was stunned by Mark's forward proposal.
"Is it hot in here?" Cheerilee asked as she started burning up. "I'm just gonna...open a window." Cheerilee ran out of the room, bolting towards her bathroom. She stumbled in and slammed the door, locking it and opening up a window. Cold air rushed it, cooling her backside and her nerves. "Okay...okay, it's happening- thank Celestia it's happening."
Cheerilee's modest cheer was cut short. "What if I screw up- what if he thinks I don't appreciate it enough!" Cheerilee started panicking, pacing around her bathroom for a bit before turning on the faucet and splashing some water on her face. She started going nuts, thinking of way to make sure she would please Mark. She fumbled with a recently bought box of makeup, putting on eyeshadow, lipstick, blush, looking like a bit of a tart, but pleased that he would love it.
Slightly itchy from the cheap makeup, Cheerilee trotted slowly back towards the waiting human. Mark was shocked as Cheerilee walked in and smiled at him. "Oh, for me?" Cheerilee giggled as she walked towards the salad. Cheerilee took a seat at her table, taking a single leaf of lettuce into her mouth and daintily chewing it. "Dec--"
"Cheerilee what are you doing?"
Cheerilee got extremely nervous, "Enjoying the wonderful meal you've--"
"Cheerilee stop." Mark commanded calmly. He walked over to her sink and dampened a towel.
Cheerilee stuffed her face as Mark got closer and closer. "It's great, I love it, I could--"
Mark held the damp cloth in front of her. "Do you mind?"
Cheerilee stopped her eating and lowered her head. "I'm sorry...you should--" Mark cut her pity party short, rubbing her eyes and cheeks with the damp cloth.
"The lipstick's not bad...but the rest is too much." Mark cleaned off the cheap looking makeup, leaving the cherry red lipstick untouched. "Alright...looks good." he remarked to Cheerilee as he set the cloth in the sink. "Now," he took a seat across from his date and tapped his fingers on the edge of the table. "What was that about?"
Cheerilee grew gloomy as she stared past the green salad. "Mark, I'm sorry."
"Why, what's wrong?"
Cheerilee stared at her checkered tablecloth. "I don't- I just- I'm sorry."
"Okay, what's going on? You've been acting weird all night."
Cheerilee started stammering again, letting out a final sigh before bearing her soul. "I don't wanna mess this up. I knew tonight was gonna be...the night, for...you know, that kind of night. And I thought you'd see me, the real me, and get...I don't know...I thought you wouldn't want to stay."
Mark frowned hard. "Alright...I'm a little mad now."
"I'm sor--"
"Stop being sorry. How could you think I wouldn't want to spend time with you!" Mark shouted softly. "I mean, I know who you are. I know you're not some party girl, gonna go out clubbing till midnight!"
"I'm sorry okay! I know, I'm boring, I'm just a boring teacher, I ge--"
Mark slammed the table. "Damn it you! Come here!" Mark stood quickly and stood next to Cheerilee, grabbing her cheeks and giving her a sudden kiss, taking her breath away and leaving her stunned as they shared a tender moment. Mark broke off slowly, holding Cheerilee steady as he did. "Cheerilee look at me, I know who you are, I wouldn't be here if I wasn't sure I wanted to be with you."
"Mark I'm not--"
Mark let go of the nervous mare and slid his arm across the table, throwing the salad bowl and tablecloth to the corner of the room. He ran over to Cheerilee's cabinets, finding the first set of glasses and uncorking his bottle. He quickly poured two heavy glasses and carried one to Cheerilee. "Drink, we're gonna drink, spend the night together, and see where that takes us."
Cheerilee took the glass between her shaking hooves and slammed it. She took a moment, letting the burning liquid go straight to her head. "Okay- I might...need somore."
Mark poured her another drink, matching her shot for shot as they drank themselves stupid.
Cheerilee loosened up immensely as the alcohol dumbed her senses and eradicated her nervousness. "And buck-" she let out a short hiccup, "- bucking Diamond Tiara keeps causing trouble, she picks on the students, tries to run the class while I'm out- she's just--"
"She sounds like a bitch." Mark stated coldly. "Kids...should rely on parents to not be bitches!"
"Right!? But her dad's named Filthy Rich, who names their kid Filthy!? That can't be good."
"Well...you ponies all got weird names--"
"No...no-"
"Yes-"
"No! You humans all get your names from a book! Some old book too!" Cheerilee stated angrily, stamping her hoof into the bare wood table. "Bibbles or something!"
Mark rubbed his burning eyes as he clutched his glass. "Bible- but that's only some! Ya won't find La Randa or La Shawnda in the bible."
Cheerilee grew indignant. "Wash you call me?" Cheerilee set her glass down and started crawling on the table. "Whats you say to my face!?"
Mark grew equally angry. "Why you on the table? Why- why you on the table?"
Cheerilee laid across her table, enjoying the cold surface on her underside. "Cause I wanna be...do something about it!"
Mark stood up abruptly. "Fine, ish fine!" He walked over and grabbed Cheerilee's back hooves and pulled Cheerilee's backside off the table, her fore hooves digging into the surface and keeping her front on the table.

Cheerilee recognized the voice instantly, snapping to attention and nearly jumping upright as she spotted Luna. "P-princess Luna!" She looked around, she was no longer in the spa, Aloe was gone, she was in her bed, bundled up in a fuzzy blanket with a warm sensation flooding through her body.
Luna smiled warmly. "Be at ease, we come bearing good news." Luna trotted next to the frightened mare and looked over her. "Your search is over!"
"My- mmm," Cheerilee felt her body resonate with a warm fuzzy feeling as she jostled her sheets. "What search?"
Luna tapped her hooves on the floor. "Your search for a mate, a confidant, someone to take care of you in sickness, and share with you in wealth!"
"I- what?"
Luna grew flustered. "Perhaps he will explain better, he certainly is outside of his mind." Luna's horn lit up, summoning a faint spector that quickly formed into Mark in a bathrobe.
"Whoa, what?" he looked around, confused and blurry eyed. "I- Cheerilee?"
"Mark?" Cheerilee crawled to the end of her bed. "Did- wait...where are we?"
Luna stepped between the confused duo. "In coitus!"
Mark grew a confused look as his leg grew suddenly weak. "Coi- fuuh- what?"
Luna rubbed her horn. "Perhaps I can...would vision assist?"

"Please, let me finish?" Mark rubbed her cheek with his thumb. "We've been dating for a while...and I've been talking with ponies since we started. I'm...modestly familiar with how these things work...so...."
"Mark what are you saying!?"
Mark took a deep breath as he looked Cheerilee in the eyes. "I don't want to go date to date, I'm not- I'm not saying we should settle down, but I'd- something stable...something between me and you without getting too serious." "Yeah no...we're in the same boat." Mark sat upright in the tub, trying to take his soaked shirt off and giving up as he couldn't undo the buttons. "Jesus...Cheerilee I'm sorry...that was a dumb idea."
Cheerilee got to her hooves and looked in the steam painted mirror. She spotted a note with a crescent moon on it and flashed back to her strange dream. "I- Mark...would- would...." Cheerilee turned to Mark as he sat on the edge of the tub. "Do you...maybe wanna.... I hope this doesn't seem to sudden, but do you want a key?"
"A key to what?"
Cheerilee swallowed hard. "To- you know...my house, so you could come by, help me grade papers, drink, maybe less, but for fun."
Mark only heard bits and pieces. "Grading papers, that sounds...not great."
Cheerilee's dreams shattered before her eyes. She turned away and suppressed a teary yelp. "No...no!" She yelled to herself. "Mark!"
"Eugh?"
"You're mine!" Cheerilee yelled, her hoof trembling as she pointed it at him. "You're my- my- my special somepony!"
"But I'm not- wait...like- oh my fucking head...." Mark sat confused in the tub. "Cheerilee just...I can't think right now, just...simple is easier...."
Cheerilee took a deep breath. "We're together, and- and that's final!"
Mark smiled dimly as he laid back in the tub. "Well...I guess I did something right, all I had to do is murder my liver. Completely worth-" he suppressed a horrid belch. "Uh...maybe not."
Cheerilee smiled weakly, falling to her side and enjoying the warm feeling of her plush bathroom carpet. "Mark...?"
"Yeah?"
"I'm so happy right now...but I don't think you should stay...."
"Why's tha--" he lost his composure, vomiting down the bathtub drain. "Holy shit, my insides...."
"Never mind...I don't think it matters anymor--" Cheerilee scrambled to her toilet and coated the bowl in wine red puke. She waited until she was done and slumped out of the toilet. "Mark, I love you, but you're an idiot, for trusting Berry."
"I love you too...and I know."
