Chapters My life was pure bliss. I had just learned that I might finally be able to fly, Twilight Sparkle, daughter of Celestia, just told me she was engaged to my mom, and there was prospects of pizza. Pure Freaking Bliss, Euphoria, Joy, Ecstasy!
Admittedly, my life still wasn't perfect. My first friend ever hadn't seen me since the day we met, high school would still be filled with ponies two or more years older than me, and I still was mute. These just seemed insignificant compared to the pure unfiltered awesome in my life! Unfiltered awesomeness that had overwhelmed my small body.
Which is why I had just fainted.
I awoke slowly, cheerfully. One side of me was cold, while the other was warm. The warm side, I eventually figured out it was my right, dominated my cold side, but this definitely wasn't my bed. Interesting.
I raised my head slowly, feeling a warm coat brush against my cheek. Surprised, I opened my eyes. I saw lavender. Warm, furry lavender that filled the right side of my vision. Turning that way, I saw Twilight.
Oh... Yeah. Twilight was trying to marry my mom! All my silly attempts to hook them up were a tad late... but wait. Twilight said the reason that mom had said yes, but not yet, was because she was worried about me. My actions would have helped there! Knowing this pride swelled in my heart.
The reason my left side was cold was because we were in a moving chariot. It was the same one that had taken us to Cloudsdale, where I had learned I would probably be able to fly. It was an exciting idea, especially after 12 years of waiting. I had done a lot in that time, skipped two grades, been bullied, and conversed with a goddess of imagination, inspiration, and insanity. Her name was Fantasi, she liked the color of my mane.
Flying with my own wings after all this time... I had already accepted it as reality, even as unbelievable as it was. I was going to be able to fly... I'd have to learn how to fly. I didn't know any Pegasi in Ponyville besides Derpy.
Derpy... I had only seen her once. Maybe she didn't think of me as a friend anymore? I had just missed two days of school. She wasn't really my first friend. She was just the first one that hadn't been using me since day one. For all know she could try to take me down a peg in front if everyone the day I got back to school. That would make her the third "friend" to do so. They did it that way, because it made me cry which gave them a boost in popularity.
Speaking of popularity, what would the other thousand or so members of the Twilight Fanclub do to me when the found out Twilight was going to be my stepmom?!
Was going to be... that was assuming her attempts to convince mom that I was ready for them to be married didn't mess up their relationship somehow. Mom had said to ask again in one year, Twilight trying to move that date forward by 361 days might upset mom, but I didn't see that happening. Her two stated concerns proved to be positives she probably hadn't even considered
possible. My super late bloom wing wise would be a huge relief to her, even with my premature sexual maturing. Combine that with my attempts to show complete support for their relationship, and the fact that she trusted Twilight to take me to the hospital, showed that her and I got along fine!
All of this was assuming that those were her real concerns. Mom could have lied about why she wanted to wait. If that was true then my actions wouldn't have changed much, or did it? If her real reason was different, then I didn't know what I had changed.
Twilight nudged me back. I realize my mind had been going faster than usual. She looked concerned for me, which was understandable after the way I had fainted. There was more though. She was truly nervous. Understanding hit me like a coal powered freight train, and immediately seized the opportunity to nuzzle against her cheek comfortingly. I probably looked sickeningly cute, blegh, but Twilight was worried about mom.
In four days Twilight had earned my trust. It was awe inspiring seeing a element of Harmony and adopted royalty at work. No one besides Mom had ever held my trust like this. Mom would be a fool not to marry this mare, and I was going to be sure she didn't make that mistake.
Twilight smiled as wide as Pinkie Pie did in my rare, Elements of Harmony RPG card game. She nuzzled back, and started giggling.
The other fans would kill me for sure.

Twilight and I didn't speak much on the way home, but the time passed quickly as I silently built up Twilight's confidence. She would need every ounce of courage to reask my mom to marry her, even if mom had said yes the first time. She had to succeed! Mom would regret letting her go, and she regretted too much already. For her sake I acted as cute and as cuddly as can be for Twilight.
When the chariot finally landed in Ponyville, Twilight helped me to the ground. As she turned to her bags I ran around the chariot and gave the cab puller a big hug. Being cute might be gross, but this stallion had flown me to an appointment that turned my life around! He deserved a hug even if he had no hoof in my biological changes.
I scampered back to Twilight before he could respond, and grabbed my bag from the back. She has noticed my little reward, and she shook her head amused.
"Come on Scribble, it's time me and your mom talked." I nodded sheepishly and followed down the street to my home. We hadn't landed closer because a few ponies populated the small road, and the chariot driver hadn't wanted to risk it. Even so, it wasn't a long trip to my door.
I had lived in this house for a little over a week, and already it was more of a home than any other I had lived in. Homes were weird like that. The tension skyrocketed as Twilight knocked softly on the door. It built and built as Twilight and I waited for one, two, and then three seconds. Then mom answered the door.
She looked like a mess, but a good mess. It was the sort of mess only the ecstatic or joyous could be after crying happy tears for hours. It was easy enough to tell she had been crying with joy. Her cheeks were puffy, and her eyes were red, but her eyes and lips bore true smiles.
She barrelled out the doorway, going from 0 to 60 in under a second and glomped me with unrestrained glee. "My baby girl is going to fly!" She shouted to the whole world and lifted me above her as she lay on her back. It was super embarrassing, but the words made me start to cry too. My inability to fly had hurt her. She felt like a failure, I think. She was dead wrong, but she had carried that stupid guilt anyway.
"Winter, can we all talk." Twilight asked as she nuzzled the both of us. It was obvious what she wanted to talk about, and the look mom gave her said the answer loud and clear.
I was getting a second mom.
Shock hit me as Twilight raised a hoof before my mom could say anything. "Winter, I have a secret I need to tell you before you say yes. I was going to tell you the first time I asked, but you beat me to my question." I felt my whole body chill. What secret could be so precious she waited till right before they got engaged for real? What had Twilight been hiding?! I knew deep in my heart Twilight was trustworthy, that this secret couldn't change my mom's heart, or else Twilight would have said it already.
But even under that was fear.
Mom looked just as shocked, but set me on the ground and headed in quietly. I followed her. In the living room was a pizza waiting. It was exactly as mom and I got back in those terrible years in Manehatten. She had remembered, and I felt comfort knowing that whatever came me and mom could survive.
Once the front door was closed, Twilight began to take deep breaths. She was preparing herself. I already knew that this secret was a biggie, but this added more tension like oil on a fire. We waited as she gathered the courage to speak, sitting on the edge of our seats, and then...
Wings...
WINGS?!
Twilight had wings! She-she! How? When? Where... WHERE HAD THOSE BEEN HIDING?!
"I'm not actually adopted." Twilight whispered nervously. "Neither is Rainbow Dash, but she refuses to learn magic." T-Twilight was an Alicorn! AN ALICORN! There had been dozens of theories about why she had been adopted along with Rainbow Dash, some had even turned out to be true, but NOPONY had thought that the adoption was a ruse! A ruse to hide the fact they weren't adopted!
"Y-yes." Mom stammered out. She looked just as shocked as I was, but there was a surety in her eyes. Twilight seemed confused, then stunned, then she frowned again.
"N-now for my second confession." She took a deeper breath. This secret was even bigger! What could be bigger than her being an Alicorn?! "Scribble'searlymaturityandsuddenwingdevelopementarebothmyfault!" she belted out faster than me or mom could understand. "When you told me Scribble couldn't fly and was mute, when you described your struggles, I was seized by a desire to help in any way I could. Even before we were dating. Then when you gave that mixed answer to my proposal... I spent weeks in dusty tomes, researching both defects. I discovered I couldn't fix her lack of a voice, but I found tome with a spell for her wings. I-I wasn't thinking straight! When I first met Scribble I-I remembered what you said. I cast the spell without thinking." Twilight took another deep breath. Mom and I were too stunned to talk. "W-when I discovered she was maturing sooner than expected I started scanning her, back in the hospital. I-I had fixed her wings, but I had caused her early maturity! I-I."
Mom finally raised a hoof. "Twilight... I love you, but-" Twilight began to sob. "IF YOU EVER DO THAT AGAIN I WILL CLOBBER YOU, BUT MY ANSWER IS STILL YES!" Twilight and me froze and shock.
"B-but I-"
"But nothing Twilight. You gave my girl her wings. Even if you were a complete idiot, you don't understand what that means to me... I-I forgive you." Twilight was shaking, but now in relief. I just felt like a mess. This had been a emotional roller coaster, but I wasn't sure I hadn't fallen out and hit my head.
My soon to be stepmom was a princess, and she cast an ancient spell on me to fix my wings and cause premature puberty.
Fantasi, I think my life is crazy enough now. You can stop.
Okay Scribble.
F-Fantasi?! But you said that-
I lied.
Ohh...
I looked back up at Twilight and mom. They were making out passionately. It was... it was... so hot.
FANTASI STOP!
That's all you Scribble! She laughed as her voice faded away.
Adorable 2: Important Matters(fixed)
After the air had cleared, and the emotional high passed, we kind of just sat on the couch together. Mom and Twilight both looked contemplative, but neither spoke.
Until one did, obviously.
"Twilight. What does you being a princess mean for the rest of us? What does that make me and Scribble?" My mom asked seriously.
Twilight pointed to me. "She's going to be a princess." Then she pointed to mom. "But you are going to be a duchess." She then gave it a moment to sink in. A princess... "I still have to tell Spike about me getting married. He's only my adoptive brother, but he might have to move back to Canterlot. Wow." Twilight looked stunned, but mom and I were still trying to wrap our minds around being peers of the realm.
"Twilight... if Spike needs to stay he can. I'd actually just assumed that." Twilight smiled in relief. "I know you told Celestia about this, but is she up to date?" Twilight nodded in confirmation, but froze as a realization struck.
"She's waiting for news! I mailed her this morning, but... she. Oh my gosh, I need to tell Aurora too!" Twilight began to look panicky.
"Then let's call them!" Mom answered with a grin. It was a nervous grin, but she had her head on her shoulders. Twilight visibly calmed down, and she gave mom a sheepish smile.
"Thanks love... I should go do that now!" Now Twilight was excited. I'd honestly expected more of a panic. Twilight just dashed to our living room phone and began dialing a number I didn't know.
I should mention that now a panic had begun to build in me. I was just now realizing how little mom and Twilight had planned ahead, and that frightened me. Twilight was just now thinking about where her brother would live? Mom and Twilight were perfect for each other, but that was absurd!
"Hey... mom?" That was Twilight on the phone. She sounded nervous. That was understandable. She was telling the ruler of Equestria and her mother that she was getting married, at the same time. "She said yes." There was a loud squeal and Twilight dropped the phone in surprise before sheepishly picking it back up. "Mom? Yeah I'm still here." There was a pause. "You don't need to do that! We'll come to visit so-" there was a loud thumping from above and Twilight froze in fright or surprise.
It was obvious the source of the noise.
"Hello my little future daughter in law." That would be Celestia.
"H-hello mom." Whispered Twilight
"H-hi your highness." Stuttered mom.
I said nothing, but you already knew that, didn't you?
"Twilight... I'm gonna need a moment alone with Miss Winter. You don't mind do you dear?" Twilight shook her head no, but found courage enough to say, "Don't hurt the mare I love, mom." Then she ushered me out. At first there was silence. Then laughter. Then singing. Twilight kept turning to rush back in, but never did. After a while there was giggling, both from my mom and Celestia. It was half an hour later that Princess Celestia and my mom stumbled out of our living room.
And there was Rainbow Dash. I have no clue how she got in, but she exited with the rest of them, and all of them were laughing.
"T-Twilight!" Celestia gasped out between giggles, "Aurora and I would like to interview miss Scribble." This surprised both Twilight and I, but I was too curious to panic. Twilight looked ready to object, but my mom just lifted up a hoof to stop her.
Curious indeed.

Celestia and Rainbow Dash pushed me in the door after securing a tenuous approval from my mom and Twilight. The room was well lit... everything seemed normal.
"Scribble, you understand that whatever happens here stays here, yes?" Celestia's voice was ominous, dark. What where they going to do to me?!
Frightened, but awed by Celestia and Rainbow Dash's presence, I nodded.
I hardly knew what hit me. Before I could blink I was across the room and covered in blue. Rainbow Dash was squeeing. Everything was ringing. Rainbow Dash was cuddling me.

Da
Buck!
Why was Rainbow Dash cuddling me? Why was Celestia laughing her flank off in the corner? Fantasi!

Rainbow Dash was still cuddling me. On her head was a horn... a horn... Rainbow Dash was Twilight's sister! She-she was an Alicorn... Holy Fantasi... She was cuddling me! Her hooves were warm.
"Sorry about this squirt, but I've been pretty pent up. Scootaloo is just so cute all the time, but I can hardly cuddle my Fanclub president can I?" Rainbow Dash had a-hey wait a minute! Why did she choose to cuddle me? "So... niece, ready to be cuddled more than you ever have in your life?" My heart fluttered a little at "niece," and that robbed me of my opportunity to say no.
I was trapped in Rainbow Dash's hooves as she leaned her head down and nuzzled me. She was warm, like a slept in blanket, but her nose was cold. Every time it touched me I felt my coat jump, but this just made Rainbow Dash laugh,
After a while Rainbow Dash paused to, I assume, let me catch my breath. To be honest, she squeezed a little tight when she hugged me. When I looked up I was stunned. Rainbow Dash had a horn! That hadn't really sunk in, and I was busy thinking about Twilight's wings when she mentioned it. Twilight said that a Rainbow Dash refused to learn any spells is that-
OH DANG THAT'S COLD!
"Mom you said I could cuddle her!" Rainbow pouted as she clutched me tighter.
"I never said you would do it alone Aurora!" Celestia teased and went back to nuzzling me. I started to pinch myself. I knew it was real, but this was just getting absurd. This was... Fantasi!

And so the cuddling continued. Rainbow Dash kept squeezing me and nuzzling my face, and Celestia nuzzled and cuddled against my back. There noses eventually warmed up, and I even began to feel sleepy. When I looked back up at the clock it had been a whole hour.
I felt my body freeze in shock. I had just been double teamed by royalty for a whole hour... NOT LIKE THAT BRAIN!
As was par for course, I felt my wings stretching against my will, useless dumb things that they were.
"Why Scribble, we didn't cuddle you there!" Rainbow Dash teased mercilessly. That got Celestia laughing, and this is what mom saw when she stepped into the house. She started laughing, and this got Twilight stepping back into the house. Twilight understandably looked like someone had dumped a bucket of confusion on her face, but gave her full attention when Celestia cleared her throat.
"Twilight," Celestia began in a official sounding voice, "I hereby give you my express permission to marry Winter Radiance. Heck, I encourage you to do so!" Twilight's confusion melted away into what could only be euphoria and relief. Out of the corner of my eye mom pounced on Twilight and the two hugged each other and giggled in celebration.
Using the moment to sidle up to me, Rainbow whispered, "aunts get to cuddle their nieces whenever they want Scribble." It was in a obvious teasing voice, but at the same time I knew she would do it.
Then Celestia appeared at my other side. "Grandmothers too," she whispered before throwing me into Mom and Twilight's hug. Celestia and Rainbow Dash jumped in after me.
-=1 hour later=-
Celestia had left for princessy things, but mom had surrendered a few slices of pizza to Rainbow Dash. Sometime in the past while one of them had started a conversation.
"So Rainbow, how's Scootaloo?" Twilight inquired carefully. Was it a loaded question?
"The papers haven't gone through, but Celestia assures me that they will approve my request." Huh, this was new to me. What was Rainbow Dash talking about?
Mom nodded appreciatively. She was in on whatever Rainbow Dash meant. "It's not easy, but from what I've read, those fillies need love more than anything." No!... She couldn't mean...
"Yeah sis, you've definitely got that covered. And if things don't turn out than me and Winter could maybe try to help." No!... I mean sure, Club President was an orphan, but ... that lucky filly!
I pull back and realize just how ironic that last thought was. Here Scootaloo was getting adopted by Rainbow Dash, but Twilight was going to be my mom... We'd be cousins in law.
"It seems we can't keep anything from Scribble." Twilight remarked off hoof. She was looking down and staring mirthfully into my my eyes. "Speaking of Scribble, Rainbow Dash, would you mind teaching two fillies to fly?"
Rainbow Dash nodded a yes! Today was the best day ever! I had... it was... There were no words for the emotional high I just hit.
This couldn't be real. This was one of those dreams you never want to wake up from, but forget come morning! This-this was just going to hurt me. I was going to wake up and be back in Espa. This... this... Twilight was real! I had to remember that. Twilight. Is. Real.
This is really happening.
Wow.
I wasn't sure what I had done to deserve this.

You remained faithful where so many became bitter. You kept your promise, and I upheld mine.
Fantasi this is far beyond what we agreed! I'm beyond thankful, but this just... I have trouble comprehending it!
Scribble, even the immortal feel lonely. We might even feel it stronger than anyone else. You've been here for me, when so much else is just madness. In turn I've worked hard to give you the best that I can grant. There will be costs, but I swear to there for you as you stay for me.
Fantasi... Whoa. I never realized that you felt that way.
No one does, but you are the one who came closest.
Fantasi, I just had an idea.
I can see it Scribble, but not yet. I'm not ready to feel the mortal realm directly. I can't forget about those who came before you.
The offer stands Fantasi, but I think Twilight and mom are saying something.
"So Scribble, you do realize that you have to go to school tomorrow?" That was mom, and no I hadn't. I admit that, at that moment, school was the least of my concerns. I shook my head no. "Scribble, it's been long enough. Tomorrow you go to school with the rest of the foals." I was about to confirm something, but then Twilight took on this funny look.
"Scribble. I should send Spike to school with you! He's old enough, and he's smart enough. Plus, it'd be a way for you to get to know him better!"
Oh snap.
Adorable3: Hello Brother/Uncle/Aquaintance?
Mom and Twilight woke me up smiling like nothing could possibly be wrong. I, not having a reason to ruin the mood, gave them a less honest, but similar looking smile. Inside, I had begun to worry about school.
I knew I'd do fine grade wise, but seeing Derpy after four days was a frightening idea. In the past, ponies I had thought were friends came back to school ignoring me if just a weekend had past. Having only met Derpy once, I felt certain that's what would happen.
I rolled over and stood on my bed just as Twilight moved to bop my nose. Instead of being disappointed, Twilight let out a soft thoughtful sigh.
"Just adorable." Twilight teased/squeed. What the heck? Was Twilight sick or something?
"I know!" Mom whispered in agreement. Y tu, mother?
I tried to jump away, but mom or Twilight's magic pulled me towards them. Confusion abounded as my legs refused to move.
"She would make such a pretty doll." Twilight commented almost analytically.
"She would fit right on my shelf." Mom muttered in agreement.

I awoke with a start, the nightmare leaving me breathless like a kick to the gut. Loud unfamiliar snoring came from the room below, and my eyes stung from morning light.
I didn't panic, in fact, I expected that nightmare. Everything has a price.
I got out of bed as dawn's early light just reached my floor. It was easy enough to see once my eyes were adjusted. This wasn't my first early morning wake up, and without much need for thought I drew up Crisploven and Ravenhoof. I felt a small snap as each drawing rose from the page, gained shape and color, and then stood upon the page.
"Hello lady Scribble." Crisploven greeted. He was always the gentlestallion, very chivalrous. I had drawn him wearing full body plate armor, but he was wearing full body chainmail and leather.
"Hey Cutey." Ravenhoof greeted nonchalantly. I hadn't drawn her wearing anything, but her manifestation was wearing glow bracelets.
The heart in my cutie mark didn't mean love or cuteness, as many assumed. This was my talent. I drew things and they came to life. I had not told my mother for obvious reasons, those being panic, misunderstanding, and motherly over protection. She was great in so many ways, but I just couldn't see her not over reacting to her daughter's drawings coming to life.
I could be wrong. In fact, Twilight's entrance into my life made my secret's reveal inevitable. I knew I had to do it on my own terms, but I could wait until after Twilight sealed the deal. I didn't want to distract from their relationship.
"Scribble?" Ravenhoof asks concerned, breaking me from my thoughts. I sheepishly grin, and pull out a fresh pencil to write down what had happened. They didn't say anything while I wrote, they already knew what I was doing.
Needless to say, they are as speechless reading what happened as I was experiencing it. For several moments there was no chatting as they read and processed. Then, as one they rose.
"Scribble," they said together, but Ravenhoof blushed and silenced herself to let Crisploven speak.
"Scribble, I , and I'm sure Ravenhoof, can't find words to express the joy these words being." That was Crisploven in a nutshell. He was honest, and while he included Ravenhoof in the beginning, he never thought to say we. He never sought to speak for others as a certainty without permission. Always kind, but brimming with manners.
"Scribble, That bucking sums it up." And that was Ravenhoof. She was crass, rude, and wonderful pony. She partied and drank, but she carried a elegant and mysterious air. Truly, a Princess of partying.
I gave the two manifestations a warm hug with my hooves and muzzle. I gave my hoof a rotation left and right, our universal sign for time coming to and end, but Ravenhoof raised a wing to stop me.
"Scribble, I know you are worried about being caught, but I just have to see this new home of yours. You haven't even shown us a picture!" Ravenhoof does her best to look indignant. "Why can't I just explore while the house is empty?"
I hadn't considered that, and if she was sure everyone was out...
'Fine,' I wrote, 'you can explore for 10 minutes after everpony has left.' Ravenhoof hoof pumped in victory, but Crisploven waved goodbye. I erased Crisploven then reminded Raven that I had my eyes on her.
I sighed as I grabbed my back pack out of its cubby by my desk. It was a soft blue. It complemented my eyes, or at least my mom said it did.
Speaking of school, I'd better prepare emotionally. Bullies would have a bunch of pent up bullying they wanted to let loose. Ponies' strong herd instinct tended to leave out those who were different. As one of maybe 10 mutes in Equestria, I was really different. Throw in skipping a few grades, currently flightless, and being small for my age, and you got a equation that equaled bullying. Lots and lots of bullying. Some poor fillies might think becoming a princess through marriage would help, but I held no such illusion.
As soon as everypony found out, bullies would come flocking from every corner of Equestria to harass or use me.
It might be better with Spike there. Sometime last night they had told Spike he was getting a niece/sister, but I had dozed off by that point... I was tired okay? I had just had my entire life turned upside down. Give a filly a break. I had awoken when they had tried to move me into my bed, and had asked why Spike the dragon was sleeping across our couch. That's how I knew it happened. Apparently he had taken it pretty well. At least, that's what they said.
Spike had just turned sixteen, and Twilight was twenty-eight. I was twelve, and Mom was thirty-two. Now that I think about it, that's a pretty diverse group of ages. It was kind of weird now that I thought about it. The age gap between me and Spike was the same as the one between mom and Twilight.
Speaking of Spike, that was probably him snoring down stairs. Twilight had already stayed over once, so I knew it wasn't her. Mom didn't snore. Thus, it was Spike. Logic!
I stop myself from doing a victory jump. I really needed to break that habit.
Now, I had been given a dream about the two mares I trust leaving me on a shelf like a doll. This was a pretty easy dream to interpret. I was worried that mom and Twilight would forget all about me being a real pony as they got deeper into their relationship. So... how to fix that? Maybe I could... no, I couldn't get tutoring from Twilight. That would cut into their date time, but... Twilight was supposed to be running a library right? I could check out books whenever I was sure she was working
Twilight would definitely be into that, but what to do for mom?
... Got it! All I had to do was help her plan/pull off her dates. That would help their relationship, and keep me in the back of her mind! Okay subconcious, problem solved. Give me a ha-... nevermind.
Now, time to wait for everyone to wake up. Yeah, everyone. Spike was a dragon not a pony!

It was a few minutes before the snoring outside ended with a loud thud. I chose this as the best moment to head downstairs. I chose now because spike would be alone, but Twilight or mom would exit the main bedroom any minute now. That thud had to have woken them up. That way, things couldn't get dangerous if he didn't like me.
Yeah, I'd planned that far ahead. I had prepared greeting cards, some expected conversational topics, the works. They were all tucked neatly in my saddlebags. I was meeting my future brother/uncle for the first time! Make or break! Su-

Dumb stairs! No, focus Scribble!
I picked myself off the ground and listened carefully. There wasn't any sound from the living room anymore, but I could vaguely hear something coming from the kitchen. Which was weird, because I knew for a fact that the door to my mom's bedroom hadn't opened once. So that meant it had to be Spike. What was he doing in our kitchen?
I made my approach cautiously. As Ravenhoof had oft said, "if the situation is really freaky, don't freak out." Of course, she'd often ramble on for a while t afterwords about drugs, but I was pretty sure that applied in any situation.
Just as I was about to reach the kitchen, I pulled out my nicest looking greeting card and readied it. It was made of the toughest and sharpest paper, so that I could use it if things ever went sour. It's important to remember, Stranger Danger!
I slowly opened the door, glanced inside, and was completely dumbfounded by what I saw. Spike, I assumed it was Spike, was cooking pancakes!
This was crazy! He couldn't reach the far side of the counter without a stool? Just as he was about to catch a pancake that he had just launched into the air, he turned and went wide eyed as he saw me. There was a awkward silence as the pancake slapped against the tile floor.
Then another awkward silence. Spike appeared to be holding something back. Was he angry, or sad? Why was he breathing like that? Was he sic-
"So," the dragonling started awkwardly, "you're going to be my step sister?" I frowned as years of fan arguments over Spike and Twilight's relationship died with a sentence. It took him a moment, but Spike eventually noticed the card I was carrying. "Hi Spike, it's nice to meet you." He read out loud like Twilight, cute. "So that whole can't talk thing was for real then." Ouch, he definitely wasn't the most sensitive. "Well... Scribble, it's nice to meet you." I sighed in relief as he used the second part of my name. At least- "Twilight never said you'd be this cute!" What? Seriously?!
"To think, I'll finally get a sister!" No. "I was worried when Twilight came out of the closet that I'd be a only child." No! "Guess she showed me huh. So how'd you get to be so cute?" NO! Spike was a chatterer! Of all the things he could have been, I had to get a chatterer! He was never going to shut up! His kind were all the same, using the fact that I was mute to just keep talking on and on. Some did it on purpose, some did it unconciously, but they were all annoying. It wasn't just a inability to take a damn breath, chatterers always said things like "cute."
I needed a nice big drink. Maybe Ravenhoof could teach me more about discerning champagne brands.
"Yo Scribble, are you okay? I've been talking this whole time and you haven't said anything!" Grrrr! "Ohh yeah. You can't talk. That's gotta be hard. This one time i bit off a spoiled fire gem, and I couldn't talk for days."

Adorable4: Operation Spike.
Spike just kept chatting on and on. He was like a fountain of words without a off switch. If I could have asked him to shut up I would have, but aparently he had too much soda and burped my writing cards to a crisp. This was like a nightmare, but it just wasn't scary. It was just very very annoying.
His random prattle included such topics as magic, history, Twilight, Twilight, and more a Twilight. All topics I was interested in, all of which he butchered into boredom.
I let out a audible sigh of relief as Twilight entered the room. One glance at Spike, and the dragon immediately shut up. Silence was sweet. Twilight took one look at the breakfast Spike was cooking and looked immediately regretful.
"Sorry Spike, but yesterday was kind of a rough ride." She gave his head a tussle and then made a beeline for me. I wasn't sure what she intended to do.
I realized that, at that moment, I hardly knew Twilight. I knew most of what was important, she was loving, caring, and in love with my mom. Twilight would be good for mom, good for our family, and best of all functional. Being a princess and an Element of Harmony was just a plus, but what was she like intimately... notlikethat!
What I meant to say is, what was she like on a daily basis? Did she hug or just smile? Was she touchy feely, or perhaps my experiences these last day had been a unique experience? I knew she loved mom, and was touchy feely with her, but they were now engaged so touching was a given.
Or was it? ...
Yeah, I could safely say that mom and Twilight were very touchy in public and in private... shut up brain. Whether Twilight would continue being platonically friendly with me or become more distant with time, who knew? I wouldn't mind if such was to come to pass. This marriage was mostly about them.
I would only be here for a few years anyway.
Twilight, to my joy, leaned over and hugged me. It cheered me right up, but my more paranoid thoughts reminded me that Twilight and mom weren't married yet. I shut that part up and just hugged her. That was when I caught sight of Spike glaring at me from across the kitchen. Was he... jealous? I admit I should have seen it coming, but it honestly caught me by surprise. Mingled in my surprise was disappointment that Twilight hadn't seen this coming. Then again, she was immortal not perfect.
This was bad, real bad. I needed to act now! This is defcon one! Spike, as Twilight's son/assistant had the potential to detail the entire thing! Making sure he wouldn't resent me or mom was objective one now.
I took a deep breath and made myself calm down. The best way to invalidate Spike's jealousy was to make sure he shared in the interactions he could potentially be jealous of. In that spirit, I offered out a foreleg to Spike giving him room to join in.
He looked confused, then he was embarrassed that I had seen how he looked at me, and finally acceptance as he came in and joined the hug. Twilight was confused by Spike's joining, but her smile eventually widened. Operation preemptively end Spike's jealous sabotage, an overwhelming success.
I heard her hooves, and smiled as mom joined in our hug. This was definetly an experience that would bring Twilight and mom closer. I didn't even have to set this up. In fact, this was probably a great sign for Twilight and mom. Their relationship wasn't based on me and Spike, but it wasn't suffering with our presence either.
It was just about now that Twilight's mention of me becoming a "Princess" hit. I'm not quite sure why. At first I tried to push the thought away and focus on the experience of a family group hug. Sadly, this thought was a strong one. What did Twilight mean when she said I was going to be a Princess? She probably didn't mean I was going to be an Alicorn... did she?
Nah. She obviously meant just the title. If she'd have alicornized anyone it would be mom.
So I was going to be enobled. Did that mean I could boss servants around? Have a retinue? Own a castle?... again, nah. It would probably end up just being a stupid scroll and ring or whatever they gave nobles now a days. I could deal with that.
The hugging was ending as my thoughts came back to the present. Twilight and mom had started nuzzling. It was sweet, and cute!
Mom and Twilight ushered me and spike out of the house with little further preparation. Twilight got us some salad tacos, but we were running late so I had to hobble along on three legs while eating. I put up with it in the knowledge that one day soon I'd be flying while eating that taco. Well probably not that taco, but you get the idea.
The taco was well worth it. Conversation didn't resume till everypony had finished eating, and even then it was subdued as we tasted our own mouths.
Right as conversation started back up, we reached the school. Unlike the first time, everypony was staring at me in some shape way or fashion. Needless to say it was creepy as all get out, but arriving just as your mom kissed am Element of Harmony had to be attention grabbing.
My brain was still recovering from taco induced bliss as we crested the hill, but the stares quickly broke my trance. Seriously, it's like they never saw two mares kiss before. It started to become worrying right after mom and Twilight left me and Spike at the school with a nuzzle. Because instead of continuing to follow Twilight and mom it stayed focused right on me.
I wasn't that pretty or ugly, so it had tone about mom and Twilight, but what could prompt such blatantly impolite behavior by otherwise busy parents? It didn't strike me until the staring broke into hushed whispers, but we were in a small town. This hadn't been a problem up till now, but up till now Twilight and mom hadn't macked in public in front of a yard full of adults and their kids .
Mom had just put me up horseapple creek without a paddle. I felt a immediate urge to panic and recluse myself away from the coming homophobic reactionaries, but the imagery of my own metaphor struck me. Twilight had fixed my wings, soon I'd be able to fly to shore. Why couldn't I just focus on being me and ignore what people would say?
As long as I didn't mention my coming princessization through marriage then I would be fine, and there was no way they'd find out.
My confident stride began to crack as the whispers of scandalized parents filtered through the crowd.
"Those harlots. Lyra and Bon Bon aren't so bad, but they never were forcing their perversion on kids."
"In front of my Snails, I can't believe they would do that!"
"This town has just fallen more and more into sin. Why hasn't mayor mare done anything about it?!"
"Filthy sinners shouldn't be allowed to be near kids much less raise them. Think of wear that filly's mother' slips have been!"
Seriously, what was wrong with this town?! The past few days had been nothing but sunshine, and now this?! All it took was mom and Twilight kissing in front of them and these parents just lost their marbles!
"May Celestia bring then from darkness and end their sinful ways!" Seriously, praying? My mom's weren't some demon to be exorcised. How had Twilight lived here for so long?
"We should turn them out before Celestia discovers Twilight perversion and punishes the whole town." Tha-that mare actually believed that? I'd met Celestia, she cuddled me, she gave her blessing!
"We should save that poor filly before they corrupt her too!" That was my cue. I beat a hasty retreat to class. Slamming the door behind me I was embarrassed to find myself sharing the class with just mister Iron Bottom.
"Is something wrong Scribble?" Was it? I looked the stallion over. What if he was like the parents outside? What if he discovered that... I might like fillies too?
I... I liked other fillies... The signs were there... The people out there would hate me just because of who I loved. Because of who my mom loved. That was stupid! Mom and Twilight made each other happy, what was wrong with that? Espa hadn't been like this. The ponies there were so accepting of mom. Their foals might not have liked me, but they didn't do this! Maybe... maybe I should recluse myself now. Once the stupid parents outside tried to drive my mom out of town we couldn't live here.
All it took was just a few nuts or jerks to make any large group capable of otherwise impossible hatred. History, school, just being so different had proven that to me. I-
"Scribble!" Mister Iron Bottom was right in my face now, he didn't look angry though. He looked sad. "Scribble, I just heard what those parents outside were saying. You don't have to worry about that in here, okay?" He-he couldn't guarantee that! "Scribble! Calm down, please. You don't need to worry about that here. This room is sacred." Sacred? Those mares were attacking my mom over that stupid Celestia worship junk! "Scribble... hail Fantasi." No.
This ... Fantasi always said, but... I really wasn't crazy. All these years of never being sure, now... "Scribble, you have friends here in Ponyville, friends who now the gifts she gave you. Here you are safe..." Safe... "I assume from the way you look at Derpy that you play on your mom's team?" I-I had never heard it put that way, but I guess so. "Scribble, we will protect you. We will work to inspire as Fantasi would want. We will work to inspire understanding. Do you understand what that means?"
My mind was in a million places now. I could hardly understand the words now, much less what they meant. "Scribble... follow me."
I stared as Iron Bottom went right out the door. I knew he was trustable, but what on Equiss could he be doing?!"
"HOW DARE YOU!" He couldn't be...
"A LITTLE FILLY IS CRYING BECAUSE OF YOU." That couldn't possible work.
"But Celestia-"
"CELESTIA NOTHING!" He just signed his own- "Celestia has repeatedly told us that hatred and prejudice is wrong, don't you dare use her name like that." He said that without even flinching. "Twilight is Celestia's student, how could she not know about her preferences. Her continued love and support of her adopted daughter is a clear sign of her acceptance. THINK PONIES!" That was...
I stepped outside, and was awed by what I saw. The whole crowd was crying. I could see their guilt worn like reading a book, and I could see... blackness leaving them. I could see their emotions turning back on themselves, the hatred and fear gone. How could he?
Iron Bottom was just sitting on the porch. Like the rest he wore his emotions freely, but his was disgust and shame for the ponies in front of him. It was like he was casting a spell with his voice, spreading his emotions with pure will.
He just turned back to me and smiled, now I saw relief.
I understood now. He hadn't lied or used a red herring. He projected his emotions honestly, and with the force of will far greater than I had seen in him the first day.
He trotted over to the door, and I followed him back inside. To my shock he collapsed as if the energy had been sucked out of him.
"I think I saw understanding in you Scribble. Did you see the guilt in them?" I nodded. "Good, then Fantasi has truly accepted you as she did me. My name might be Iron Bottom, but Fantasi taught me how to be Steel when other ponies needed me to be. It's what my cutie mark means." I nodded.
"I'm too old to do that often now, it takes way too much out of me, but I knew I could teach the understanding and love Fantasi taught me to my students." Wait he didn't mean? "He, no I'm not some priest here to convert them to our cause. I'm just teaching them the values I cherish." I could respect that.
"I think you'll find that this town has many friends for you Scribble, but know that not a single one of us was ordered here. Fantasi asked us to come, and she showed us what we could do to help you and the ponies here." The ponies here too? I pointed to the door to see if he meant the ponies outside. He nodded.
"Scribble, something is corrupting this town. A month ago those ponies wouldn't give a second thought to who you loved. Fantasi is worried that something is trying to hurt you. She doesn't want another Manehatten."
I shuddered at that thought.
Everything was settled by the time the school bell rang. I was seated by the time class began, but I took the opportunity to watch the other student's fasces as they came in.
The unicorns came first. They looked mildly embarrassed. I tried again to extend the sense.
It was shame, but it was more shock. I'm not sure how words fit how it looked. I'd have to see if Iron Bottom could share some adjectives with me. Regardless of the adjectives, it was comforting to know they were more shocked than ashamed. I think that meant they were more shocked at other's anger than caught up in it.
Following the unicorns were the earth ponies. Almost every one of them was burning with shame. The few that weren't looked... scared. It was to my own shock that I saw miss... platinum flank?... in the later. Did that mean fear of other's anger, or fear at their own? I glanced at the other fearful earth pony for answers.
She was a orange and yellow mare I'm now certain wasn't here last time. There was a bit of residual shame, but I could feel... relief? That implied to me that she was gay or bi. Interesting.
Finally came the pegasi. There was a set of twins that looked openly relieved. They couldn't be- The twins glanced at each other and I realized with a certainty that, yes, yes they could. I blushed and looked away, but a light and quiet set of hooves brought me back.
It was Derpy! She looked... relieved, scared, ashamed... angry? That last one flared as she looked at me, but the third did too. What did it mean?! M-maybe she agreed with the crowd's sentiments before Iron Bottom talked to them? Was she ashamed and angry because of my parents? My chest sank like lead and I looked away. I "turned off" the sense and looked back to Iron Bottom.
He was at the board now, all looks of exhaustion gone.
"Today class, we are learning more about herds, the tolerance papers, and Celestia's decree of acceptance." I flinched at the firmness of his words, as did the rest of the class. It was glaringly obvious what he meant by his choice of reading materials.
The first subject was innocent enough, but the second and third were obviously an attempt to squash any of the mob's sentiments before it could take root in his students. If I remembered correctly, then the second was the series of letters between Princess Celestia and the pastor of the Western Boroughs Church of The Burning Batpony (known ironically as West Borough Batshit (Crazy) Church). Strong reading indeed. The third was the result of the letters. It had officially rejected any implication that Celestia hated any tribe of ponies.
I could see the shame of everypony flare, and the relief of Platinum, Derpy, the pegasi sisters, and the stranger flare. Derpy was really relieved,I'm not sure how I feel about that, but it was sort of like hope and jealousy. It made my stomach feel tingly.
Maybe it was... love? No, a crush at the most. It wouldn't be weird for somepony my age, would it? No use wondering on that, I had a crush on Derpy. I felt a little relief of... I liked mares... interesting. I had a crush on a beautiful pegasus with wonderful golden eyes. She might possibly be gay too.
My mind reeled as the cold logic of what I just thought finally connected with the emotional part of my brain. I had a crush on somepony!
I felt excitement well up inside of me. Then, I looked at Derpy, and I crashed. She was glaring at me. She hated me! Maybe if I explained myself?
I looked again.
Nope, I'd lost a friend. It wasn't a record, but it was close. I looked away. Her glare hurt.
The school day blurred by. I had a lot on my mind, okay?! The first filly I ever crushed on hated me. She didn't even look at me during lunch. I came back to myself about an hour before the day ended. I was sitting alone, I think Derpy moved to a different desk.
The last hour was the longest, I felt lonely, I felt angry at life, and lastly, at the very end, right as we were leaving, I felt shock as I found a H&H card in my cubby hole. It wasn't frilly enough to be from a colt, it just looked like the simple pink that you'd expect from a mare. Which was odd because Hearts and Hooves day wasn't until half a year from now.
With a blush I tossed the heart shaped card into my saddle bags. I was going to read it alone... in my room...
I sighed in relief when I looked around and saw that no one had noticed the heart. The other students were moving out, but I didn't follow. I intended to talk to Mr. Iron Bottom before going. There was a lot on my mind, and maybe talking about Derpy would help.
I ignored the twinge in my heart, but not my shock at seeing another student already talking to Mr. Iron Bottom. It was the earth pony from earlier.
Using some of the techniques Ravenhoof taught me I hid myself. I knew eavesdropping was wrong, but maybe it would reveal what her feelings meant.
"Ahh Miss Daffodil," Iron Bottom greeted, "how may I help you?" Innocent enough so far...
"I just wanted to say thank you for what you said... you see, my coltfriend's," so she wasn't gay? "a little different, and they were saying such mean things..." Interesting! Iron Bottom smiled and shook his head.
"Don't worry miss Daffodil, just make sure he uses protection." Iron Bottom blushed a little at that, but I was busy wondering what she meant by 'different.'
"Don't worry Mister Bottom," he he, "he cleans himself out before every date. All I need to do is wash them after." Wash... Clean... ohhhhh my gosh! She... and he... I felt myself drool a little, and I wiped it away in shame. I decided that maybe I could talk to him tomorrow, after my wings went down.
I frowned as I ran into Platinum Dress outside. She looked anxious, nervous even, but this could only be bad. Bullies like her... she was blushing?
"D-does this mean yes?" Did what mean yes to what?! What was she talking about?! Platinum flinched, I assumed from my surprise. "Y-You read the note right?" What... no...
I pulled the card out of my pack with a panic. Flipping it open I began reading.

"PLATINUM! YOU SAID YOU WOULDN'T DO THIS!" I barely managed to dodge as a Gray and Yellow blue slammed into Platinum. The two rolled across the yard kicking and screaming as if... but Derpy hated me! This... made no...

I opened my eyes to two beautiful fillies covered in bruises and cuts. Both of them glaring at each other over me.
Fantasi... stahp!

I mentally glared at Fantasi as I pulled myself up.
Wait, where was mom and Twilight! Spike? Any- Holy horseapples this room was nice. A sense of shock washed over me as I glanced about the room. Was that real gold?
"Ha, see? She obviously is stunned by how nice my room is. You should give up!" Platinum was looking gloatingly at Derpy. This was... her private room!?
"I sleep here too Platinum! I-I have a job though, at least my gifts for her would be hard earned!" They were seriously arguing about... I thought Derpy hated me!
"Yeah well... At least I know how to dress up if we went on dates!" Dates... but... I was just twelve! She was fourteen! That was-
"Crazy Platinum! She'd obviously prefer hanging out to, blegh, dates. She isn't some lace wearing colt. Just because she's" I- wait!
"She would look adorable in lace." Both of them started looking at some far away thing. I felt fear welling up from deep in my heart at those looks.
Then they noticed/realized I was awake. If blushes couldn't travel at the speed of light, then no one had told Platinum or Derpy. I ignored the urge to facehoof. I grabbed a card and pencil. This had gone on long enough. Time they answered questions.
'Derpy, why were you so mad at me in class.' Derpy had the decency to look ashamed.
"I-I wasn't mad at you. I was mad because I couldn't find the courage to ask you to be my filly friend." I... that's so... Derpy was looking sad. To my renewed shock Platinum wrapped a hoof around Derpy.
"Hey, I understand." Apparently I had missed a ton of development. Platinum must have seen my shock. "Scribble... after I realized my feelings for you... I went to Derpy to try and make sure I wouldn't have competition. I won't share details," Derpy released a relieved sigh, "but long story short she is now my adopted sister, as is Dinky Doo. Dad's rich and the ministry was happy to expedite things." Derpy wiped away tears.
"When we admitted to each other how we felt for you, we agreed to wait a while, but then I saw you, and I almost confessed. I guess ... She just had more guts than I did." My mind was reeling. This was like one of those trashy romance novels stallions read.
If my life was one, then it was badly written. With all the crazy in my life the author had to be loosing his or her mind.
"I shouldn't have asked... Derpy is right... I'm just spoiled and impatient." Platinum was crying now." I... I was the colt right now wasn't I? Mares were fighting over me like a some dime a dozen reverse harem manga from neigh-pon, not that is ever admit to mom that I'd read something like that. Still... I was a little bit young to be that colt. Normally ponies waited to at least fourteen to start dating.
Derpy blinked with a gasp, sort like she had just gone eureka. Before Platinum could react Derpy whispered something in her ear. The she had a eureka moment. This couldn't turn out well.
"Scribble, would you be me and Platinum's coltfr- err... fillyfriend?" Ohh Fantasi- ha ha ha! no. If I responded badly they would both be heartbroken. Then I'd lose my only friend and Platinum might bully me... why would I say no? I was a freak! When... when would I ever get this chance again? I-I wouldn't.
This was my only chance, even if it was convoluted as buck. I nodded.
Derpy and Platinum went wide eyed and tearful, but they were smiling like they opened the ultimate Hearth's warming present. I admit I felt flattered, and turned bright red.
"C-could we go on a da-" Derpy started but Platinum interrupted with, "would you put on lace?!" Then, as my mind was in a tailspin, they asked in unison, "can we kiss you."
I was about to shake my head no, but I realized my heart was beating a million times a second. I couldn't move at all. Their lips were...
I felt shock tingle along every part of me as at once the two of them kissed me. The moment didn't end, even when Derpy and Platinum jerked back red faced. They just stared at each other in shock, then back down at me.
There was another shock as they kissed me again.
Then horror as the door creaked open.

"S-SCRIBBLE!" My mom screamed in shock. Before I could react Derpy and Platinum were levitated off of me. Before I could try to explain what was going on I was levitated backwards at break neck speeds. The feeling of air whipping by made something new stir in me, and to my own surprise my wings flared open and actually slowed me down. Before mom could try it again I turned to confront her.
Mom was standing slack jawed. Behind her was Twilight and a completely unfamiliar mare. Twilight and the other mare were... laughing?! Mom seemed to realize this, and she turned to confront Twilight, but she didn't get a chance to speak before Twilight chipped in.
"Come on Winter, she's mature enough, and the first heat is always rough." Twilight comforted Winter. I... she... I was in or soon to be in my first heat?! Huh... so I was finally going to taste wine.
That was the tradition, a filly's first heat meant she got her first taste of alcohol. Just a taste though. I'd read once that they used to let the filly drink more, but stopped right about the time arranged marriages ended and age of consent laws came into play. History and tradition were interestingly like that, but was Twilight really going to follow tradition despite my age? Twilight winked at me, and I gaped. She was!
I turned back to Platinum and Derpy. This isn't good. They were giving me looks. I knew for certain I couldn't trust those looks. Those looks had 'lace' written all over them.
Was I the only sane one in this room?!
"Twilight, she isn't tasting wine yet. She-she's still my baby! Scribble's just twelve." Yeah! I'm just twelve! This is crazy! Twilight rolled her eyes as if what mom was saying was silly. Maybe it was... I mean... I'd always been curious what wine tasted like. Mom always got this far away look in her eye when I asked about it. "It was just yesterday that she stopped using diapers." eww mom! I stopped that years ago.
I stopped to think, really think. Where was all this leading too? This had to be Fantasi's work, but what was she trying to teach me? Was it patience, or was she trying to tell me to hurry and grow up already? This situation was extreme enough that either was an option. It stank of Fantasi's hoof work.
Fantasi's work was very imaginative, with many players feeling inspired by something one way or the other, and she always always always let things get just a little bit crazy. I mean, two schoolmates, a bully and a friend, trying to corral me into some early teenage herd? CRAZY, but wait...
Fantasi was old, really old. I'd read that back then ponies were expected to grow up faster. I remember being told something about a "champion." Was this her way of arranging a herd? Surely she'd picked up enough from me and Iron Bottom to know that things weren't done so early nowadays.
Right?
Ohh Fantasi no. That was it, she was trying to arrange a herd.

My whole body sagged in relief. I could feel tears on my cheeks and violent shaking as fear gushed out of me.

I looked up and realized the whole room was staring at me. another shudder of relief passed as I realized just how close I had came to ruining everything. I needed a lie now. This was going to hurt.
Looking down at the line I had started to draw, I shivered as a terrible but effective idea hit me like a tidal wave. With great trepidation I wrote, starting with the line, 'Please don't fight over me. You guys love each other! It's not Derpy or Platinum's fault, I was just curious how it was to be in love like you two.' Bile rose up in my throat as the honey sweet lie lay on the page.
I had to try not to gag, but the shaking of disgust at myself probably helped the 'scared' image.
Scribble, if one of my orders would put you in this position, ignore it. I would never do this if I was in my right mind.
I smiled a little at Fantasi's reassuring words, and I looked up at mom to see if my lie had caught.
She and Twilight were nuzzling while approaching me. Guilt twisted in my gut as I watched them take it, hook, line, and sinker. I tried not to throw up in self hate as they both nuzzled me.
"Okay Scribble, just... I'm still giving you the other talk tonight." I blanched at the thought of the awkwardness coming. "and Derpy, Platinum?" huh? "Wait till she's older." Oh thank you Fantasi.

he he! Mom nuzzled me again, and I was led outside by Twilight's wing.
Twilight nuzzled me a third time as we stepped out into the setting sunshine. I nuzzled her back, hoping that she would take reinforcement towards agreeing with mom on things like this. Mom had the authority in things like this, so a fight here would be disastrous. Twilight had to learn the limits in their current relationship.
Spike was outside looking sleepy. I guess he really was a little dragon still.
"Hey, me and mom decided a date to get married." oh... snap. I raised up my ears quizzically and turned my head to show that I was curious. I had to do it consciously to ensure that my movements were obvious enough. I wouldn't have worried with mom, but Twilight was still relatively new. "It's going to be on the first day of the new year. A couple weeks after your birthday."
I frowned at the wait, but it was probably a good idea. At least it was after my birthday by a good distance, it wouldn't conflict that way.
"Oh, and Pinkie's party is this Saturday, tomorrow." huh.

Fantasi let some of her consciousness leave Scribble, and drift back to the home of Filthy Rich. She smiled as she spotted Derpy and Platinum still listening for Scribble below. She floated lazily through the window, and reached her senses out to listen to the two fillies thoughts and words.
Platinum and Derpy grinned deviously as they closed the window. All they had to do was wait a few weeks, and then Scribble could be theirs! Miss Winter could hardly complain if her daughter was thirteen, could she? That would be "older," wouldn't it?
"So Platinum, how are we going to win over Scribble?" Derpy asked as their devious high began to settle.
"You saw the way she looked when we kissed her. We've already won, she just hasn't realized it yet." Both fillies giggled as thoughts of cute soft lips and wide eyes danced in their heads.
"The way her mouth just hung open." Remembered Derpy wistfully.
"The way she panted softly." Reminisced Platinum gaily.
"Her beautiful eyes." The recalled in unison, and let out a soft sigh.
Fantasi chuckled at the scene, not that the two fillies could hear. She might not be the goddess of love, but she had centuries before Scribble to learn tricks she could do with a little imagination and inspiration. She admitted to herself that this had been a total success.
Heck, it hadn't even been that hard. Both Derpy and Platinum were attracted to cute colts, it just took a little lighting and a soft breeze to show them how cute a filly could be too.
A sudden realization snapped her back to the two fillies. They were looking at each other now, and she could see the gears moving in their head. Scribble had opened their eyes to a whole other world, but they weren't quite there.
Fantasi inspired a small bird outside to flap its wings just a little bit harder. She inspired hundreds of birds for miles to move just a little bit more in a certain direction. A small breeze was generated that gently rolled into the room.
Derpy and Platinum's breaths caught as the breeze softly rustled their manes. She could see the light going off in both their heads. She smiled as the newly minted sisterhood became more with the soft gentle kiss the fillies' shared, and the next, and the next.
She inspired a nearby maid to place a minor sound trap on the room, by suggesting that she recall Winter's words to the sisters. The maid did it believing the sisters would need some privacy as they got over their first crush. She already believed that they were trying to get over it, Fantasi just had to show her the next logical step to that thought.
Fantasi smiled and blushed as the two fillies discovered love without anyone else being alerted. In a few months, with Scribble as the catalyst and focal point, that would cause poor mister filthy rich to loose a few marbles. That was going to be fun to see, after all he was just getting used to the idea that Derpy was his daughter. This was going to be a whammy.
Fantasi was a god of insanity after all, it was important to do it in little bits spread out enough to not hurt anyone.
She would watch to make sure his lost marbles didn't roll into the wrong bags. She wouldn't inspire love just to watch it burned as a sapling.
That was Celestia's schtick.

"Hurry Cakey Wakey, the Flit!" The over weight pink monster roared as it's hooves tried to stomp me flat. I dodged left, right, desperately trying to avoid being served on the breakfast menu with syrup. I managed to keep it up for a few hours, but then a painful green cloud filled the air.
"Eat flit you damn bug!" A angry lank stallion giant screamed, and everything went black.
I rolled out of bed with an annoyed huff. That hadn't even been scary, just annoying, and cartoony.
Fantasi gave no answer. I glanced up at the clock, and almost freaked out when I read '8:12 am'. Then I realized it was Saturday, and I had nothing to worry about.
"Scriiiiibbbleeee! I can hear you up there! Come on down for brunch." I stomped once in a affirmative response response. "Don't take that tone with me missy! Twilight helped me make a wonderful brunch earlier, and you will not let it to to waste by dragging your flank!" I tapped yes again, but much less annoyedly.
"Good." I rolled my eyes and got on with my life, starting with my teeth. There was a downstairs bathroom, and I trudged my way there slowly. Every step was like lead. My body shambled on. I fo- "SCRIBBLE!" I walked to the bathroom and shut the door behind myself.
I brushed my teeth and showered in a timely fashion. Timely was still an hour long proposition to clean out my mane and tail, but it felt really good. It gave me plenty of time for my mind to wander.

I set the water to cold, and then shut it off as my whole body was chilled. My wet mane was about half my head weight. Needless to say, I didn't waste time drying off.
Sore necked, a bit chilled, and still damp, I marched to the breakfast table. To my delight, there was just a few plain apples and tarts, along with some milk. Nothing better for breakfast, but as I ate, I found that the food just didn't enthrall me as much.
It just didn't... compare? I'm not sure what I was comparing it too. It was insanely delicious, and it was filled with love! Maybe... maybe that just didn't matter so much now. I mean, how could food compare to the past week? How could the rest of my life compare to the last week?
I sat and stared at my plate in contemplation, and I didn't stop. I wasn't interrupted, or shaken from my thoughts. For the first time in about a week I could really consider my life, and it was kind of scary.
What on Equiss was I going to do once high school was over? I couldn't ever monetize my talent safely, and I didn't have any other skills. I'm pretty sure Fantasi was planning to return to the physical world, so the position of prophet was redundant. Fantasi wouldn't need help. She'd been planning since forever.
I pushed my plate away. I just didn't feel like eating.
"Scribble?" Mom stuttered from across the room. I missed her entry. She looked shaken.
Before she could worry I mimed the toilet sign. She looked relieved and shooed me.
I dashed to the bathroom to allay further suspicion. I collapsed against the door as it slammed, and I took a moment to collect myself. I'd almost messed up all my work. I couldn't afford to waver in front of mom again.
Then I remembered the party. I let out a frustrated sigh and almost hit the door.
Fantasi, I really need a break.

What I really needed was more time. Too much was happening, way too fast, kissing, engagements, Twilight, wings, Iron Bottom. More... time.
I'd never drawn time. Could I draw time? What would time look like? A clock, maybe?
Nothing came to mind, and I tabled the idea. I couldn't afford to make mom anxious by taking too long.
For the sake of reinforcing my lie, I flushed the toilet and ran my hooves under the sink.
To my relief, mom had stored the food by the time I came back. I took a moment to really look her over. She looked upbeat, but anxious. Understandable considering who she was meeting, but something I needed to rectify.
The solution? Shopping. Something to fill the cracks in her confidence. It wasn't strictly necessary, but it wouldn't hurt to nudge mom into her A game zone. A dress was too much, but earrings were too little. She already had a exquisite watch. A necklace maybe, or... why not a nice maneband or clip?
That wouldn't break the bank, and it would couple with a new, confident, mane-doo.
Excellent, now to convince her that she needed a new maneband.
I'd been doing this for years. All it took was a drawing of her with a maneband, and a smiley face. Moms love smiley faces.
I didn't get away without another interrogation session by agent hairbrush, but we got out the door eventually.
I felt unnoticed worry wash away as the same moms who had been so bigoted yesterday, waved today. I couldn't see any disgust underneath their smiles, and some bore slight shame still. Iron Bottom was a excellent speaker to leave such a lasting impression.

I gently, but firmly, guided my mom down the street to the market. Ponyville had to have somepony who satiated their non-bejeweled accessory needs, and the market would be a good place to start.
The market was beyond crowded when we got there. More crowded than should be possible for such a small looking town.
Maybe it was bigger on the inside, but the inside was also part of the outside. So it was like a tesseract, or no that's a hypercube. The town was a cube inside of a cube seperated along a fourth dimension then? If so, why didn't doors act like mirrors, or open to doors right behind yourself? If this town was like a hyper cube, then how could I enter buildings, or the town itself?
Interesting questions, but none of them relevant to finding a nice maneband for mom. I returned to reality to find that I had guided myself to a appropriate stall on autopilot. Good job brain!

I ignored Fantasi's sarcasm and lead mom towards Carousel Boutique. As much as I hated Rarity, mom needed a mane doo, and it had to be new.
We arrived in one piece. Mom was still fiddling with the mane and, and I was trying not to give up before arriving. The sight of the fru-fru boutique was devastating to my moral. Twice, I almost broke ranks and ran, but yes, we arrived in one piece.
The door opened with a familiar "ding," and I grimaced as Rarity's sing song voice was carried down her stairs with greetings. It was the same one as last time.
You'd think that a creator like her would come up with more than one greeting, right? I certainly would. Heck, I've already got a few rough drafts of alternate greeting cards. I had this one red design that turned out perfect, but the rest were meh.
I didn't bother checking up on reality when Rarity came in, I thought on as she and mom started pulling out photos, and I foolishly failed to participate while they chatted over said photos. I mean, there was so many possible greeting cards. They had common elements, like, my name and why I needed said cards, but after that the possibilities were endless!
I could do this one design with a blue background, red text, and white decorations. It could say something official and mysterious sounding maybe? May-

I jolted across the room as fast as my small legs could carry me. I almost froze in terror when I saw the photo album, but it was too late by then. I careened with a soft "pomf" into the plush white couch. It didn't even hurt.
"Oh, hey Scribble." Mom greeted with a smile. "Miss Rarity here is showing my the most wonderful photos of you!" No! "Have you seen yourself with this pink bow ?" NO!
I looked over the couch and beheld in horror the photos from my photo shoot with Photo Finish. They were laid out perfectly like my Elements of Harmony trading card collection! It was the worst thing ever! If the fillies at school saw me dressed like a colt my life would be OVER!
Mom stroked my mane either to comfort me or to facilitate her cute bow filled dreams. I really hoped the first. The second would-
"RING RING!" Shouted a odd sounding phone across the room. Rarity left to answer it, and I sagged in relief. Mom gave me a funny look, but I ignored her and settled onto the couch next to her. The mane stroking continued, but it felt good enough that I didn't mind. I
Moments passed, and Rarity came back with a wide smile.
"I swear it must be fate! Photo Finish called about you, Scribble!" Rarity shouted with glee. I stared at the white monster as cold shivers trailed down my spine. "You won't believe it! She said you were the best cross-dressing filly she'd ever worked with! She's offering to pay you based on how many times your image is used instead of a flat fee." Alarm bells rang in my mind as bits clinked in my mom's.
I glanced at the clock. It was hours until the party. I looked back at the door. It was locked so that mom and Rarity could have privacy. I looked at the windows. They were shutter-less. I looked at the stairs, bingo!
I bolted just before mom's telekinesis reached out for me. Within seconds I was up the stairs and in a bathroom.
After giving the lace and frills their necessary amount of retching, I turned to the room's one window and got to work examining its frame. It was locked, but the lock looked easy enough to access from the inside. There was a banging at the door.
"Scribble, open up!" ohh snap, mom was moving fast! I turned back to the window and began loosening its frame. It wasn't designed to resist being pulled inward, and I smiled as the nails slowly pulled out of the wood. Almost-
"Scribble!" Mom burst in and seized me up with a frown.
Darn, foiled again.
Adorable8A: The Party (FINALLY!)
Mom carried me down the stairs by my upper barrel, leaving my to hang like a kitten being carried by its momma cat. She set me down on the small stage downstairs. Rarity was awaiting me with a set of brushes. I nearly wet myself before I realized mom wasn't holding any of the brushes.
"Come on now dear, we need to get you ready for the party!" Rarity exclaimed, probably pretending I hadn't just tried to escape via her upstairs bathroom window. Funny how selectively dramatic she could be.
Rarity began to brush. It was okay. The skill was somewhere between Twilights's awesomeness and Mom's torture. Pleasant, but I wouldn't be falling asleep any time soon, or... you know what. Which is weird, because you'd figure the fashionista would be better at brushing her mane than a loner librarian. Then again, Twilight had probably read a book on gussying up before going on her first date with mom.
Wait, maybe, mom wasn't Twilight's first fillyfriend? I hadn't thought to ask. Would it be rude to ask now? Should I ask Twilight about it?... nah. Twilight's possible ex's are her business, not mine.
I realized Rarity wasn't brushing anymore. I realized that somepony had put a dress on my flank. I realized that pictures were being taken, and magicks were being made. I facehoofed.

I stumbled out of the shop a few bits richer and a few dignities poorer. Such is my lot in life. I ignore the dress, thankfully free of frills, on my flank and stride miserably down the street. I ignore the looks, I ignore the gawks, I ignore... the drooling?
I look up to discover mom's jaw wide open, and looking down the other side of the street. I turn that way and-
OHH HOO MY FANTASI! Twilight strode down the street like she owned it! She had a sharp crisp dress that hugged everything! She... she... WINGS DOWN! I physically shut my jaw. It was black, it was... I...
"Ohh hey, Winter, Scribble!" Twilight cried out from her location across the street. I heard a audible "clack," as mom shut her mouth and strode forward. I'm not sure where she found the confidence to do it, but she met Twilight in the middle and they kissed.
"Ready for the party?" Twilight asks a little breathlessly. Party? Now?! Nooo! I'm not ready! They couldn't, Twilight and mom were kissing again. Wings, I give up, do whatever you want.
My wings did exactly that, but I'm pretty sure no one noticed me while mom and Twilight snogged. My mom was pretty, and Twilight was gorgeous, all I had was a dress. My cuteness was off.
A murmur arose among the watchers, but instead of disgust, it was audible interest. Sort of the intense interest ponies probably gave those websites that I had never seen or heard of, at least, not that I'd tell you.

Mom and Twilight both noticed the look on my face and started giggling. I ignored the two of them with a prompt and perfect roll of the eyes. Then it hit me.
ALL OF THE MANE 6 WOULD BE AT THIS PARTY! DERPY, PLATINUM, ohh wait... no, mom probably revoked their invitations after last night's incident. Still, MANE 6! OMFG, EEEEEEEE!
