*Huff* *Huff*

Soarin’ had been running around the track for about a minute and a half, and had already succumb to panting. Sweat had even begun to form on his brow and between his legs. He definitely wasn’t in his usual shape. Running was difficult with a pendulous belly bouncing everywhere, and two heavier butt cheeks jiggling up and down. It was like running with a bag of sand tapped to his body.

About five minutes in, sweat was dripping off Soarin’ in beads and forming dark circles in the fur near his legs. It seemed so tedious to keep going. It seemed ponies had started as well.

“Is that Soarin’ over there?”

“No, that pony is way too big to be Soarin’.”

His chubby cheeks started to turn red. That was embarrassing, and it stung a bit. He’d usually had somepony that made him keep going, but it was just him, he could stop right now if he wanted to. So he did, it just seemed dull and hard to keep going. He convinced himself that next time, he would just run twice as long. That seemed like a good plan, right?

Back at home, the sweaty pegasus hopped into the shower. He whimpered a bit when he noticed it was smaller than usual, with his flanks just barely staying away from the sides. He gently washed his mane, and gingerly lathered and scrubbed the new expense of his bloated blue belly.

He grabbed a towel as he climbed out, walking towards the kitchen while drying his mane. Soarin threw the towel to the side and opened the fridge. Leftover pastries looked back at him, cakes, fritters, cupcakes, muffins, and oh sweet Celestia, yes! Apple pies!

The only healthy thing in the refrigerator had been a carrot. Trying to put his sweet tooth aside, Soarin’ reached his hoof out for the carrot. His belly interrupted with a loud gurgle.

“Well…” Soarin’ said to himself.

“Maybe I deserve something sweet, as a reward for actually getting myself out today.”

Soarin’ grabbed an apple pie and kicked the fridge shut with a back hoof, which quivered like jelly from the force. He went over to the living room and kicked back in the couch, his behind inched towards taking up two cushions. He shuffed his muzzle into the apple pie and devoured it.

His belly grumbled again. It couldn’t hurt to have another apple pie, right? Was there anything wrong with sweet and cinnamony flavor, the gooey and crusty texture? Of course not, one more apple pie never killed anypony. It was settled, Soarin’ went back for second helpings.

Seconds, turned to thirds, which turned to fourths. Afterwards even the word “diet”, slipped Soarin’s mind. All that mattered was sweet flavors dancing around his tongue. Pies went down Soarin’s gullet in a flash, and the tins were tossed to the side without abandoned. Cupcake after cupcake was demolished in one bite, wrappers tossed to the floor. Seven whole cakes were eaten, no cutting, Soarin’ just bit into them and tore the cakes apart. The muffins were decimated similarly to the cupcakes. Soarin’ shoke whole plates of fritters down his mouth. The entire fridge, save for the carrot, was depleted without effort.

Soarin’ fell to the couch, laying on his back. His large taut belly facing upwards, gurgle emitting from within.

“URRRRRRRRRRRRRAP!”

Soarin’ released a ground shaking belch, before he fell into a deep sleep with a full tummy, surrounded by carelessly disposed garbage that used to hold food.
