There once was an earth pony named Orion. He lived in a small town called Ponyville, and wasn't very social. Every so often, he would go outside to search for materials, and food. While outside, he would avoid most everypony. Until one fateful day, he met HER. She was the most beautiful pony he had ever seen. A shimmering purple mane, a long and shiny horn, a bright white fur coat. All he could do was stop and stare at her as she passed him by, seemingly ignoring him. Orion had a lot to think about, so he hurried gathering his supplies, and scurried home. When we got home, he decided to look through his books and see if he could find out who that pony was. After hours upon hours of vigorous research, he discovered she was the owner of a local boutique. However, he still couldn't find a name. For hours, Orion practiced introducing himself to her. Marching up and through the door of the boutique and proclaiming his love. Slowly striding in as gracefully as a leaf... Or even just a simple hello and then leaving. All of these were options for this earth pony, but he had no Idea which one to choose. Finally, after hours of deliberation, Orion decided on a course of action and left home for the boutique.
On his way to the boutique, something mystical happened. the ground began to quake, and Orion lost his balance. As he struggled to get back up on his legs, he noticed a shining light in front of him. Slowly, this light formed a shape. That shape began to move, and develop features like eyes, hair, skin, and something that looked like claws. There was also a bunch of bright colors that looked similar to clothing. Suddenly, there was another flash of light, and in front of him stood a large and unfamiliar creature. Not knowing what to do, Orion simply said "Hello, my Name is Orion. Can you understand me?". The creature made a quick reply of "HOLY SHIT! I'M IN EQUESTRIA! IS THIS A DREAM? WHAT IS HAPPENING? THIS IS AWESOME. I CAN LIVE OUT ALL OF MY FANTASIES!". Orion now had a look of confusion across his face. This creature knew where he was, but acted as if it weren't real. Orion quickly said "HELLO!? Are you listening to me? I asked if you could understand me. What exactly are you?". The creature brushed himself off and began to speak again. "Yes, I can understand you. My name is Kane. I'm a human." "A hu...hum...human? What's that? some kind of smart animal?" Replied Orion. "No silly. A Human. Y'know, Like a person. With hands. And feet." said Kane. "Hands?" Orion was still VERY confused. Orion had already completely forgotten about going to the boutique, as he was so confused and curious about this "Human" that had just appeared before him. Suddenly, Orion realized that others might not have the same reaction to this human as he would, and decided to rush him back to his home for safety.
When Orion brought Kane to his house, he closed the blinds, and made sure the door was locked so no one could see this new creature. After returning home, Orion remembered he was going to that boutique. He hurriedly took some measurements of Kane, and drew a quick sketch of the him to bring to the boutique. He told Kane to stay inside and ignore anyone who came to the door. Then, Orion ran out the door for round 2 at the boutique. When he arrived, Orion began to take out his bitsack in order to place an order. "Hello. I'd like to order some clothing. However, it's a bit of a peculiar request." Said Orion in a nervous voice. "Just a minute" Yelled a feminine voice coming from the back of the store. "It must be her." Thought Orion. After just a few minutes, the beautiful unicorn from before came gracefully galloping out from behind her back wall. "How may I help you?" Asked the Marshmallow Pony. "I'd like to have some clothes made." Said Orion. "Sure! I can easily help with that!" Exclaimed the beautiful pony. "It's actually a bit weird, because these aren't clothes for a pony. I can't really explain, but I can give you height measurements, and a drawing of what I want the clothes to look like if that's alright." Said Orion, more nervously than before, fearing that she might deny him and think he was a creep. "Sure. When do you need them?" Asked the White and Purple Pony. "As soon as you can, but only if you arent already preoccupied." Orion said softly. "Of course! I'll have them done by tomorrow. You can stop by then to pick them up." Orion was ecstatic. "That sounds wonderful. My name is Orion by the way." He said. "It's nice to meet you Orion. My name is Rarity!" Said Rarity. "It was nice to meet you" Orion shouted as he ran out the door.
As Orion arrived home, he noticed his door was open, and all the lights were off. Had the human Kane ran off somewhere even though he specifically said not to? That was how it seemed. After carefully walking inside, he shut the door behind him and began to walk toward the bedroom. It turns out Orion never shut the door behind him when he left. Suddenly, he heard a sound. It sounded like snoring. "Do humans snore?" Thought Orion. He walked into the bedroom to notice Kane sleeping on his bed. However, he was greeted by a disturbing sight. Kane was not wearing any of the clothes that he appeared in. Orion squinted and tried to avoid looking at the naked human, but his curiosity got the best of him, and he took a peek before covering him. It wasn't as great as he thought it would be. Orion walked out to his living room and moved his two couches together to form a large makeshift bed. Before drifting off to sleep, Orion decided to make a late night snack after being so busy all day. Orion slowly drifted off to sleep in his couch-bed and had sweet dreams.
End Chapter 1.
After his first day with Kane, Orion was stressed. His sleep didn't show it, but he was. when he woke up in the morning, he was fully rejuvenated and ready for his day. Or at least he was. He slowly crawled out of his makeshift bed, and remembered everything that had happened yesterday. Orion couldn't think of a way to deal with the events that had recently occurred. Suddenly he went from being calm to being very very stressed. He remembered the pony he met yesterday. Rarity, was it? He remembered purchasing clothing for Kane. Then, he thought about what would happen if anyone found out what he is hiding. He began to worry. He couldn't think of anything to do to keep Kane hidden, and really didn't want to either. Almost as soon as Orion started to calm down, Kane came out of the bedroom. Thankfully, he was at least wearing some clothing. Kane immediately walked into the kitchen and started rummaging through the cabinets. "Stop that!" Yelled Orion. He was worried that Kane was making to much noise and would draw attention to them. "I'll make us something to eat. Just keep quiet." Orion said softly. He slowly walked into the kitchen and grabbed some apples that he bought in town the previous day. "Do you like fruit?" asked Orion. "Fruit sounds nice." Said Kane. Orion prepared a fresh fruit salad with apples, bananas, coconut meat, and pineapple. After eating, Orion said goodbye to Kane, and headed out the door to pick up clothing from the boutique.
Orion was strolling through Ponyville on his was to Rarity's Boutique. As usual, he avoided every pony he could, and avoided making eye contact with those he ran into. When he finally arrived, he knocked on the door, and walked inside. Rarity greeted him with a quick nod and ran to the back. While waiting for Rarity to return to the front, Orion noticed that there was someone else in the room. He was a small purple fellow who looked a bit like a dragon. Orion thought for a minute, and realized he IS a dragon. A baby dragon. Rarity ran back to the front with a container of jewels in tow. "Here you are my little Spikey-wikey." Said Rarity. "Wow Rarity! That's a lot of gems! Thanks a lot!" Said the baby dragon. Spike appeared to be his name. "Oh! Hi Orion! I have the clothes you asked for. It was harder than expected, but I managed to get it done." Rarity quickly exclaimed. "Thank you Rarity. It means a lot." Orion said graciously. Rarity quickly returned to the back to grab the clothes. "So your name is Spike?" Orion asked. "Yeah! I'm a dragon. Rarity is really nice and always gives me her extra gems." Spike said. Orion was in awe. He had never seen a dragon before. He was interested to learn that they ate gems instead of just hording them. "Here you are!" Rarity said as she came back from the back wall, carrying the clothes behind her. "Thanks again Rarity. I'm sorry if it caused you any problems." Orion said sheepishly. "Don't you worry darling. There's nothing I can't handle." Rarity said. Spike was minding his own buisness, but noticed the clothes Orion had purchased, and had to say something. "Hey! Those look like clothes for a human!". Orion quickly became very nervous, and quiet. "Wh-what's a human?" He said quickly. "Oh uh. It's nothing." Said Spike. "It was nice seeing you." Orion said quickly as he hurried out the door. He had to get home.
Spike was suspicious of Orion. He had seen a human before, and those clothes wouldn't fit on any normal pony he could think of. Instead of going straight to Twilight, he decided to sneak behind Orion and find where he was going and who those clothes were for. Orion got to his house very quickly. Unknowing of his secret follower. Orion locks his door and shuts his blinds. Kane walks out of the bathroom and says a quick hello. "I got some other clothes for you." Orion said. "That was nice of you." Kane says endearingly. "I think some pony else knows you're here. In our world. From wherever you came from. Or they've seen a human before." Orion said cautiously. "I've never been here before, and you're the only pony I've seen or talked to since I got here..." Kane said. "That's what I thought. But I can't be to cautious." Orion said. Unbeknownst to them, Spike was hiding outside listening to their conversation. "I've got to tell Twilight!" Spike thought to himself. "A human in Equestria! And he still looks like a human!". Quickly, but quietly, Spike ran to Twilight's library. Orion realized he would need to think of an excuse if that dragon came around asking questions, so he began thinking. Kane went back to the bedroom and read some books.
Meanwhile, Twilight was busy cleaning up the library because Spike had disapeared earlier that morning. "Twilight! Twilight!" Spike exclaimed as he ran in the door. "There you are Spike! I thought you said you'd be back by lunch!" Twilight said. "Sorry Twilight, but I have a good reason." Spike said apologetically. "Well then, let's here it! If you have a good excuse, I want to know what it is." Twilight demanded. "There's a human in Equestria!" Spike screamed."A human!? Where!? How!?" Twilight shouted as she dove right into the books looking for an explanation. "He's somewhere in Ponyville!" Spike said. "What should we do?" Twilight was concerned. "I don't know Spike. Not yet at least." Twilight sighed. "I'll need some time to look into this. Can you keep an eye on it for a bit?" "Easy!" Spike said. "Spike is on the case!" He said as he ran out the door. Twilight sighed again, and kept looking through the books. There had to be a reason somewhere, right? Right?
