Chapter 2

Previous Chapter

After his first day with Kane, Orion was stressed. His sleep didn't show it, but he was. when he woke up in the morning, he was fully rejuvenated and ready for his day. Or at least he was. He slowly crawled out of his makeshift bed, and remembered everything that had happened yesterday.  Orion couldn't think of a way to deal with the events that had recently occurred. Suddenly he went from being calm to being very very stressed. He remembered the pony he met yesterday. Rarity, was it? He remembered purchasing clothing for Kane. Then, he thought about what would happen if anyone found out what he is hiding. He began to worry. He couldn't think of anything to do to keep Kane hidden, and really didn't want to either. Almost as soon as Orion started to calm down, Kane came out of the bedroom. Thankfully, he was at least wearing some clothing.  Kane immediately walked into the kitchen and started rummaging through the cabinets. "Stop that!" Yelled Orion. He was worried that Kane was making to much noise and would draw attention to them.  "I'll make us something to eat. Just keep quiet." Orion said softly. He slowly walked into the kitchen and grabbed some apples that he bought in town the previous day. "Do you like fruit?" asked Orion. "Fruit sounds nice." Said Kane. Orion prepared a fresh fruit salad with apples, bananas, coconut meat, and pineapple. After eating, Orion said goodbye to Kane, and headed out the door to pick up clothing from the boutique.

Orion was strolling through Ponyville on his was to Rarity's Boutique. As usual, he avoided every pony he could, and avoided making eye contact with those he ran into. When he finally arrived, he knocked on the door, and walked inside. Rarity greeted him with a quick nod and ran to the back. While waiting for Rarity to return to the front, Orion noticed that there was someone else in the room. He was a small purple fellow who looked a bit like a dragon. Orion thought for a minute, and realized he IS a dragon. A baby dragon. Rarity ran back to the front with a container of jewels in tow. "Here you are my little Spikey-wikey." Said Rarity. "Wow Rarity! That's a lot of gems! Thanks a lot!" Said the baby dragon. Spike appeared to be his name. "Oh! Hi Orion! I have the clothes you asked for. It was harder than expected, but I managed to get it done." Rarity quickly exclaimed. "Thank you Rarity. It means a lot." Orion said graciously. Rarity quickly returned to the back to grab the clothes. "So your name is Spike?" Orion asked. "Yeah! I'm a dragon. Rarity is really nice and always gives me her extra gems." Spike said. Orion was in awe. He had never seen a dragon before. He was interested to learn that they ate gems instead of just hording them. "Here you are!" Rarity said as she came back from the back wall, carrying the clothes behind her. "Thanks again Rarity. I'm sorry if it caused you any problems." Orion said sheepishly. "Don't you worry darling. There's nothing I can't handle." Rarity said. Spike was minding his own buisness, but noticed the clothes Orion had purchased, and had to say something. "Hey! Those look like clothes for a human!". Orion quickly became very nervous, and quiet. "Wh-what's a human?" He said quickly. "Oh uh. It's nothing." Said Spike. "It was nice seeing you." Orion said quickly as he hurried out the door. He had to get home.

Spike was suspicious of Orion. He had seen a human before, and those clothes wouldn't fit on any normal pony he could think of. Instead of going straight to Twilight, he decided to sneak behind Orion and find where he was going and who those clothes were for. Orion got to his house very quickly. Unknowing of his secret follower. Orion locks his door and shuts his blinds. Kane walks out of the bathroom and says a quick hello. "I got some other clothes for you." Orion said. "That was nice of you." Kane says endearingly. "I think some pony else knows you're here. In our world. From wherever you came from. Or they've seen a human before." Orion said cautiously. "I've never been here before, and you're the only pony I've seen or talked to since I got here..." Kane said. "That's what I thought. But I can't be to cautious." Orion said. Unbeknownst to them, Spike was hiding outside listening to their conversation. "I've got to tell Twilight!" Spike thought to himself. "A human in Equestria! And he still looks like a human!". Quickly, but quietly, Spike ran to Twilight's library. Orion realized he would need to think of an excuse if that dragon came around asking questions, so he began thinking. Kane went back to the bedroom and read some books.

Meanwhile, Twilight was busy cleaning up the library because Spike had disapeared earlier that morning. "Twilight! Twilight!" Spike exclaimed as he ran in the door. "There you are Spike! I thought you said you'd be back by lunch!" Twilight said. "Sorry Twilight, but I have a good reason." Spike said apologetically. "Well then, let's here it! If you have a good excuse, I want to know what it is." Twilight demanded. "There's a human in Equestria!" Spike screamed."A human!? Where!? How!?" Twilight shouted as she dove right into the books looking for an explanation. "He's somewhere in Ponyville!" Spike said. "What should we do?" Twilight was concerned. "I don't know Spike. Not yet at least." Twilight sighed. "I'll need some time to look into this. Can you keep an eye on it for a bit?" "Easy!" Spike said. "Spike is on the case!" He said as he ran out the door. Twilight sighed again, and kept looking through the books. There had to be a reason somewhere, right? Right?
