Vinyl Scratch awoke with a start to the sound of her parents fighting. She sighed.
"Every time." she muttered. She clambered out of her bed to get ready for school. She brushed her mane a bit, then exited her room.
A sharp slap sound was heard downstairs. Her mother cries could be heard. But Vinyl was sick of this. No matter how many times she comforted her mother, she still beat her with her father.
Vinyl used her magic to get an apple from the kitchen, or the Abusing Room as she called it. She grabbed her backpack from near the door and was just about to leave when...
"Where do you think you're going?" her father snarled. But Vinyl was used to the beatings. They used to take their built-up anger out on her.
Her father pinned her down, and her mother's hind legs were met with Vinyl's face. A bruise and a nosebleed were left in her wake.
Her father kicked her repeatedly in her stomach. Then, after a few kicks, they left, and fought more. Vinyl slowly got up, and used her magic to get a tissue from the box and put it near her nose. She walked out of the house.

When she reached school, the group of three were waiting for her. A Pegasus with a red mane and blue fur, a unicorn with white fur and light pink hair, and an earth pony with a cobalt blue mane and black fur. Red Wing, Cupcake and Lightning Strike. AKA the ponies who bully her.
Vinyl tried her best to sneak past, but Cupcake noticed her.
"And where do you think you're going, Freak?" Cupcake said slyly.
Cupcake used her magic to levitate Vinyl, and Red Wing flew up to kick her. Lightning Strike kicked her where the sun don't shine.
Cupcake suddenly dropped her as their teacher, Emerald Star, came up to them.
As usual, Emerald suspected nothing, and went away. Soon, the bell rang.
Vinyl slowly got up, and let a single tear roll down her face. Her best - and only - friend Octavia galloped to where Vinyl was.
"A-are you okay? I called Miss Emerald to help you." she said sympathetically.
"She suspected nothing." Vinyl replied sadly.
Octavia helped Vinyl up to her hooves, and together they walked to class.

Vinyl never understood why ponies picked on her, of all ponies. Now she knew.
She was an ugly, worthless, fat freak. She locked herself in her bathroom, and used her horn to move the shampoo bottle.
Using her magic, a blade was bought down from under the shampoo bottle.
She held it against her hoof, and made a cut.
Nobody likes you.
Cut.
You're fat.
Cut.
Your parents abuse you for a reason.
She made the last cut deeper than the rest, and now a fountain of scarlet was left in its wake.
More tears slid down her face, as she went to bed and skipped dinner.

Vinyl shuddered at the memory. But the past was behind her. She was famous now, she was fine.
She didn't need to be sad now. Not before a big performance. Her name was called up.
She walked out of the wings, and onto the stage. She stood over the DJ stand.
Not letting her anxiety take over, she played her famous new hit, Rhythms Of Life.
She looked over to the crowd. She swore she could see some familiar faces.
No.
This couldn't be.
Because sitting right in front of her, were Red Wing, Cupcake, and Lightning Strike. As the show ended, they stomped their hooves on the ground, as a gesture of applause.

"Thanks Snow! I'll see you later!" Vinyl said, as she exited from the back. Walking alone in the tiny hours of the night, was a bit dangerous for a mare. But she didn't care.
She met Octavia halfway, as she was coming back from an opera. Together, the two walked back to their apartment.

At the apartment, Octavia kept staring at Vinyl in some way, but Vinyl couldn't place it.
As they had their hay sandwich dinner, there was a knock at the door.
"Yes?" Octavia said as she answered the door.
Vinyl's cousin walked in. She never liked him that much, but it was nice meeting him.
"Oh hey Vinyl! I was wondering if you could come over later?" he said happily.
"Sure! You live in Manehattan, I assume?" Vinyl said.
"Cor-rect! Come in an hour or so." He said, then skipped out.

As Vinyl readied herself for the trip, Octavia suggested that she could come along.
"I'll be fine!" Vinyl said.
She exited the apartment, and went to board the first train to Manehattan.

Knock Knock!
Vinyl was pretty excited.
She hadn't seen Silver for years.
She knocked on the door of the run-down apartment complex.
Silver answered almost immedietly.
She swore she could see something large between his tail...oh.
Silver roughly kissed her. Vinyl tried to pry him off her, but failed.
He pulled her hooves behind her back, and handcuffed them
He dragged Vinyl, while she was whimpering, obviously scared of what was to come.
He threw onto the bed, where she was tied up.
"Please, no!" she whimpered.
He didn't listen.
He listened to her screaming and whimpering all day.
And he liked it.

Her cousin had raped her.
She left there scarred and terrified.
As she got home, she spilled the whole story and shed a lot of tears.
"File a police report against it. I don't care if you don't want to. I'll do it." Octavia said.
Vinyl just sat there, crying. She phoned the police and told them.
She felt disgusting. Maybe a shower will help, she thought.
As she showered, she tried to drown herself in the bathtub. But she couldn't. So she started an old habit, one that she gave up long ago.
She started cutting again.
She dragged the kitchen knife across her arm repeatedly.
Vinyl Scratch was breaking down.
She sat on the kitchen floor and cried her eyes out. She didn't want this.
Why did bad things happen to her, and her only?
~9 months later~
She went grocery shopping that day.
As she was picking up a bottle of water, she saw the ponies she least expected to see.
Red Wing, Cupcake and Lightning Strike.
"Hey Red! Look who's here!" Cupcake said, pointing a hoof in Vinyl's direction.
"Why don't you say we go and have a little fun?" Lightning said mischievously.
That little shit. Vinyl would show them what fun she had.
She went to the back alley with them, outside the store.
"You little slut, you think I'd get it on with you?!" Lightning said, while punching her face.
She stumbled back, while Cupcake made her float, and they beat her up.
Vinyl's life really was breaking down.
~
She stumbled home, terrifying Octavia who demanded her to go straight to the hospital.
Vinyl had various injuries, including a broken rib, a lot of gashes and cuts, bruises and hairline fractures.
They beat her with pipes and rocks, anything they could find.
So she had to spend the night at the hospital.
As she was laying in bed, Nurse Redheart came in.
"Miss Scratch, I'm afraid you have internal bleeding, also, you're pregnant. Congratulations! It'll be a lovely Hearth Warming's Eve present!" she said.
Vinyl was shocked. Just shocked. She wanted to curl up and die.
"We'll do an operation for the internal bleeding in 5 minutes." She continued.
"I WANT AN ABORTION!" Vinyl screamed.
"O-Okay Miss Scratch, please just calm down, you'll alert the other patients." She said calmly.
Suddenly, two stallions in coats came in.
"Is this Miss Scratch?" They asked.
"Yeah, why?" Vinyl sniffed.
"I'm afraid your cousin Silver Bolt committed suicide. He had this letter for you." They said.
Vinyl couldn't believe it.
They handed her the letter.
Dear Vinyl,
I'm sorry, I didn't know what I was thinking.
Please forgive me. But when you're reading this letter, it'll be too late.
But please, don't keep the baby. Please.
I'm sorry,
Silver.
Vinyl was in tears now.
Doctors rushed in.
"The operation has begun." One said.
They injected a serum in Vinyl's right arm, and she blacked out.

Octavia heard the news.
She rushed to the operation room, watching patiently.
"I'm sorry Miss Octavia, but Miss Vinyl won't make it. Her kidneys and heart has failed. I'm sorry." One of the doctors said.
Octavia wiped away some tears. She broke down.
"But her baby's been delivered." He said.
"W-what?" Octavia said.
Octavia walked over to Vinyl.
"I'm sorry. I never got to say this, but I love you." She said.
Octavia kissed Vinyl's forehead, as her heart rate monitor flatlined.

After Vinyl left, Octavia raised her baby finely.
It was a lovely grey coloured unicorn, with an electric blue spiky mane, and magenta eyes. She was called Blue Streak.
"Mummy, I'm going to go play with Sapphire, okay?" She said.
"Sure Blue. Come back before dinner." Octavia replied.
As Blue left, Octavia shed a few tears. But she wanted to do this.
She grabbed her cello case and hoisted it on her back.
She walked out, and walked all the way to the graveyard.
She sat in front of a familiar grave with a golden vinyl record.
She played Vinyl's favourite melody, 'Heaven Sent'.
As she reached the final note, she faltered a little. But she still continued.
She cried, while looking at the sky. Her tears were falling fast now. But she continued.
She played the last notes.
This was the final song.
"Goodbye Vinyl. I love you." She said, and placed a single red rose on her grave, and walked away.
