Freshman year at Canterlot High.
First Day
"Beep, beep, beep,"
"Unghh," a girl moaned.
"Beep, Beep, Beep,"
" It's *snore, it's only a hundred pages lo- *snore -ng," a girl moaned again.
"BEEP BEEP BEEP
"Aahhh," a girl screamed, falling off her bed.
*Thud, "Owwww,"
Taking a moment to recover, and to stand up, the girl let out a huge yawn "Uwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah"
Wiping her groggy eyes with her hands, Twilight sparkle looked at the source of the noise, her alarm clock. Which read 7:00 am.
The button of the alarm clock seemed so near to Twilight, just an arm's length away, yet every attempt she made to press it ended with a miss.
"ungghh," Twilight groaned, after she finally manage to press the alarm's power button.
Twilight wiped her eyes again, and looked around her bedroom.
"My room is a mess, Twilight thought, as she saw her room in disarray.
Her books were on the floor, her desk cluttered with pens and papers, and -
"Is that my phone?" Twilight wonders, "IN MY MUG ?,"
Losing her morning grogginess, Twilight runs to save her phone, only to trip on her dog Spike.
"Owwwwwww," Twilight grumbled, landing on the floor with a thud. "Spike!," she muttered.
Waking up, Twilight's little dog jumped up in excitement, barking softly at every jump.
Twilight stood up, making sure not to trip on anything else. She bent down to pat her dog, "Oh spike," she said.
Remembering that today was her first day of school, Twilight looked at her alarm clock again, it read 7:03.
"Oh God," she exclaimed.
“Oh what to do, what to do,”
Twilight raced around her to room to grab everything she needed for her first day in Canterlot High.
“ Bag, check. Pen and paper, check,” Twilight said aloud, frantic to get all her things together. "Oh where are my books, she said ?"
Twilight heard a muffled "yap", and looked at her dog spike. Twilight saw spike, carrying in his mouth, her math book.
"Oh there it is," Twilight said with relief. Twilight took the book from her dog, and placed it in her bag.
"Who's a good boy ? Who's a good boy?" Twilight said playfully to Spike, "Oh yes you are, yes you are," she said while patting him.
After triple checking that she had everything she needed for her first day at her new high school, an out of breath Twilight Sparkle ran down the stairs and said “I’mreadyletsgoi’malmostlate.”
Barely understanding a word, Twilight’s mom replied. “ Can you repeat that dear ?”
“I said, I’m ready, lets go, I’m almost late,” Twilight said in a slow manner.
“Well dear, I’m all set, but unless you plan to go to school in your pajamas, I think you aren’t.”
Taking a look at herself, Twilight had realized she was still wearing her constellation-styled pajamas. “Oh cra - nberries,” she said.
Twilights mom couldn’t help but giggle as her daughter ran back upstairs to change.
Back in her room, Twilight now faced the problem which most high schoolers faced during their school days.
"Oh what to wear?" Twilight said aloud.
Twilight opened her wardrobe, looking at all her clothes.
"Oh, what to wear, what to wear!" Twilight exclaimed. Twilight grabbed a shirt, it was white, tight. "No," Twilight muttered.
This time, Twilight grabbed a skirt, a blue skirt with a rose on the side. "No," Twilight said aloud, tossing the skirt onto her bed.
"Oh what abou-, no that wouldn't work, how about-, no not that either," Twilight said, grabbing different kinds of clothes and tossing them all onto her bed.
Twilight's fashion crisis was interrupted by a muffled, "Yap,"
Looking down at her dog, Twilight saw spike, placing his paw right on top of a piece of violet clothing.
Twilight bent down, picked up the thing, and held it out in front of her to examine it.
"Hmmmm," Twilight muttered, examining it. "My old skirt, violet and with a star on it's side," Twilight said aloud.
Looking back at her dog, Twilight said in agreement "Not a bad choice, Spike, not a bad choice."
Five minutes later, a freshly showered Twilight sparkle runs down the stairs saying “okaynowI'mreadyletsgomom."
With a small chuckle, Twilight’s mom says “ Alright dear, I’ll meet you in the car”
Checking her pockets, Twilight said "Okay mom, I'll just- MY PHONE," Twilight exclaimed, running back upstairs to save her phone from it's watery demise.
A few minutes later, Twilight Sparkle is sitting in her car, bag in hand, on the way to Canterlot high.
“Interesting choice of outfit dear,” Twilight’s mom says.
“Oh this,” Twilight said in reply, pointing at her outfit.
“It’s just a violet shirt and my favorite skirt, you know, the one with a star on the side.”
“Oh not that dear,” Twilights mom replies. I was talking about your bunny slippers.”
“My bunny slippers ?” Twilight asks, then looks down at her feet.
“OmigoshwhyamIstillwearingthese,” She exclaims.
Twilight’s mom can’t help but laugh, “Don’t worry dear, I’m sure your classmates will love your
pink slippers”.
With a look of horror on her face, Twilight says “ This isn't funny mom, can we go back home to grab my shoes. Please, please, please,please?"
With a smirk on her face, Twilight's mom says " open your bag dear.:
Twilight gasps....
“Thanks again for putting my shoes in my bag mom” Twilight says as she gets out of her car.
“No problem dear, but remember next time not to wear your sleepwear to school. I’ll be back here to pick you up at around 6.”
“Okay thanks mom, love you, Twilight says as her mother drives off into the distance.
Looking in front of her, Twilight can’t help but utter “wow” at the sight.
“Canterlot high... It’s even more gorgeous than I thought.”
A stone statue of a man sat directly in front of the school, with what appears to be a gold-plated inscription by its base. Huge gardens placed on both the left and right sides of the statue, full of trees, flowers and small creatures. Both gardens seemed to surround Canterlot High on both the left and right sides. With fountains, benches, and stone pathways, and with a clear sunny day above, Canterlot high seemed marvelous.
Looking down at her watch, Twilight almost screamed. “ Five minutes, oh my god, five minutes till class starts.”
Ignoring the scenery, Twilight runs for the building,
Twilight runs for the building's main double doors, panting at every step.
"So this is what Shining Armor does in his varsity practice, wow" Twilight thought as she reached the schools double doors.
Looking back at the distance that she ran, Twilight assumed that she only ran a hundred and fifty meters, but still, Twilight never prided herself in being one the most athletic students.
Twilight bursts through the doors, out of breath, nearly collapsing.
She grabs onto a nearby pillar and leans on it for support.
Taking a look at her watch, Twilight says "Only two five minutes until class starts, what do I do ?"
Twilight though to herself, "Maybe I should have come earlier, I don't even know what my first period class is,"
Twilight's deep thought was interrupted by someone tapping her on the shoulder.
Twilight looked up and saw an older woman, much older than Twilight anyways. Who seemed to have very long, multicolored, and shiny hair.
The older woman spoke, "Twilight Sparkle ?"
"Yes, that's me" Twilight replied.
"Hello Twilight, the older said, "I am ms. Celestia, principal of Canterlot high.
"Oh," Twilight muttered. "Wait THE principal Celestia, the principal who has a masters degree in Psychology, Biochemistry, Equestrian Literature AND Particle Physics?"
"Well, I suppose you could say that," the older woman replied, surprised by Twilight's knowledge on her past achievements.
"Oh, My, God!," Twilight screamed, barely able to contain her excitement.
"I've read all the biographies about you, on how you developed the A217 serum, curing the world of cutie pox," Twilight said, "AND how you helped develop the Pegasi, the machine for predicting and altering weather, AND how you-"
"Alright Twilight, I understand that you know how my life was before I became principal of this school." Celestia said, interrupting Twilight, startled by Twilight's obsession with her.
"I know, it's just, what you've done is so, so amazing," Twilight said, fan-girling over Princess Celestia.
"Well, Twilight, Thank you for you compliments, but I believe you have a class starting soon.
"Oh, yes, I know," Twilight said, turning red, embarrassed by her sudden outburst.
"Your first class begins in a few minutes Twilight, do you know where you are supposed to go ?," Principal Celesia asked.
"Well, of course I do, well, I mean, I do, but, okay I have no idea," Twilight said to the principal,
"Alright then, the first day is always the hardest by my observation," Principal Celestia said. "Why don't you go with Pinkie Pie to your first class, as I recall you two are seat mates for this class," she said, pointing a finger at a girl near her.
Celestia walks over to Pinkie Pie, they exchange a small conversation, and start to walk back to Twilight. Meanwhile, Twilight is still recovering from her run.
"Twilight, meet Pinkie Pie, she's one of the nicest girls here in Canterlot High, and is your classmate," Celestia said, while gesturing Twilight to this girl beside her.
Twilight looks beside the principal and sees a girl, a fellow student. The student looked similar to Twilight. Both quite young, both freshmen, both wearing a skirt and shirt. Yet something made this student student seem to stand out from the others, something made her seem odd. Twilight guessed either that she seemed to emit an aura of energy and laughter, or the fact that her hair was just really poofy, and pink.
I'll just leave you two for now, I have to return to my duties as principal," Celestia said, who started to walk away from the two.
"Oh Twilight," Celestia said, turning around, "One more thing,"
"Yes?" Twilight replied.
"At the end of the day, could you please submit to me a report on how your first day here at Canterlot High goes," Celestia said to Twilight. " Include the friends you've made today and generally what you think of Canterlot High"
"Bu-, but ms.Celestia," Twilight said, " A report, on friendship ?,"
"Well, you can put it that way," Celestia replied, walking away from Twilght.
"But wait, I don't want to-, I mean I can't, I just don't know-," but it was too late. Celestia had left their line of sight, disappearing into
the crowd of students in front of Twilight.
Stuck with this new assignment, Twilight could only mutter, "why?", reluctant to make this report.
"Hellooo, Twilight, I'm Pinkie Pie.", the Pink haired girl said, interrupting Twilight's thoughts on her new assignment.
Oh," Twilight responded, “Twilight Sparkle,” Twilight said in return.
“Are you new here Twilight, to Canterlot high I mean,” Pinkie Pie says.
“Yes,” Twilight says
"OooooOOohhhhh," Pinkie squealed
"Uhm, We should probably get to class," Twilight suggested, glancing at her watch.
"Oh yeahhhh, totally forgot, my bad," Pinkie replied.
Pinkie Pie starts to walk to one of the hallways in front of her, Twilight follows closely.
"Anyway, the principal told me that we're classmates, AND seat mates, and do you know what that means ?" Pinkie said with a smile.
Pinkie Pie takes a deep breath.
“We’re going to be the best of friends, no, the bestest best of friends, or maybe even the bestest bestest of best friends,” Pinkie says, jumping up in joy."I'm best friends with everybody here, and I mean everybody, and that means I'm going to be best friends with you!" Pinkie squealed. "Well, friends with everyone except big meanies like Sunset Shimmer."
“Well...,”Twilight says, still blown back by Pinkie’s screams. “I think we should-”
“No time” Pinkie interrupts, “Class starts in about, hmmm, 5 seconds.
“WHA-,” Twilight screams, but is interrupted by a hand pushing her through an open door beside her.
"First period class,just as you asked," Pinkie said. "We're studying English, and speaking of English, I just made a rhyme!. Woaaaaaaoooooo, " Pinkie squealed, "Rhymes are fun," she said.
Twilight took a moment to regain her balance, getting a bit annoyed with Pinkie for pushing her like that.
Pinkie walked in the room, being greeted by several "Hays," or "Hellos" upon entry.
One of these voices was a blonde wearing a cowboy hat...
