Canterlot, 1st of Morning Star, 2534L.y -
They say that you have to grab life by the horns and never let it slip through your hoofs, I guess that I took that advice to heart. But before I get ahead of my self let me explain who I am and what this journal is for. Hello! My name is Moon-Star archaeologist, historian, inventor, engineer, explorer, and airship captain.
Ever since I was a little colt I had a dream of discovering new parts of the world like the explorers on the radio story's that I would listen to with my parents every night at  nine o’clock. They would tell us about  the new inventions being created by Twilight sparkle, like the 'phonograph'  and other wonders of science that came with the 'Equestrian Industrial Revolution' or story's of the great, powerful airships that where reaching parts of earth that no-pony had ever gone before.
Story's like those drove me to where I am at now, Captain of the Bartholomew, the newest war/exploration airship created by the 'Twilight Industrial Corporation' and mite I add the most badass ship around. I mean this thing is a beast!  Let me just jot down what is on this monster.
*24 canons on each side (48 in all)
*5,000 pounds of gunpowder (for each canon)
*250 crew-members all pony's (one dragon)
*1,025 muskets and 500 sword/daggers
*And enough ammo for a small army.
And that is just the war supplies, now when you put in the maneuvering capabilities (speed), maps & tools, and 25 inch thick armor you got the symbol of equestrian industrial might.
The Bartholomew was actually commissioned by Princess Celestia herself (after much convincing by her son and good friend of mine Spike the dragon) That's right Spike is the son of Celestia! And I am one of the few pony's that he has told this information too.... lucky me.
Spike is actuality out right now saying goodby to his friends for the last time until we get back in one year. We all have two days to spare before the ship takes off, and the crew tend to take advantage of that.
Well its about time to go get a drink, two days left until my life really starts.... can't wait!
