Shining armor is king

Reaching around the bookshelf,  Spike looked back too were Twilight was reading. The lavender mare looked so sexy with her reading glasses, and that cute face she makes when in deep thought. The teenage dragon smiled at has oldest friend. 'Why can't I just tell her how I feel?'His smile faded-'Because she Is practically your mother, Its wrong!-His smile returned- 'But then why dose the thought of her and me fill so... right?' He thought.

Spike Sighed, and went back to re-shelving the library.

Over the past year Spike had given up on his crush with Rarity, realizing that know matter what he did for the mare, she would never return his feelings. But that didn’t mean he had given up on... Love.

It took some time to convince himself, but soon he came to terms with his new found crush,.. On Twilight. She was kind, caring, nerdy, and a great friend. Also sometimes to smart for her own good.

But Spike loved every little perfection Imperfection about her.  The way she trotted, the way she read, and even the way she snored. Yes, Spike was madly In love with Twilight, even If he didn't know where his new found feelings came from.

But he was not going to repeat the same mistake with Twilight that he had dun with Rarity. Today he was going to push his fears aside, and tell her how he felt! (Know mater the outcome).

Twilight lay on her couch, looking up from her book on 'Biology of Dragons', and saw the dragon of her affections look away, and went back to re-shelving. She could have sworn she herd him let out a depressed sigh.

'Whats wrong with Spike?  I do hope he's okay' She thought.

Twilight loved Spike with all her heart, and would not want him to ever feel sad or alone. And this feeling of love even grew into something more over the past few years. She had begun to feel something more for her dragon friend. Not just love like a brother and sister, or love of mother and son. No, Twilight was 'In love with Spike'.

It all started two years ago after her breakup with Flash....

Twilight lay crying on the library floor, next too the fireplace,  body covered with a blanket and sad music paying on the radio. But unannounced to her Somedragon was watching from the stares with a sad/angry look on his face. On both of there minds they where thanking the same thing 'This was all Flash's fault'.

Flash had took her out to the most fancy restaurant in Ponyville today and told her to eat all she wanted, all on him. She did and after the food Flash reached across the table and  took her hoof in his. Thanking that he was going to proposed Twilight smiled and her eyes began to fill with tears of joy.  But then Flash told the lavender mare that It was not going to workout between them. Twilight's tears of joy turned to tears of pain, and sadness.

Without another word she ran out of the restaurant crying. And all the way home.

Twilight smiled at the memory. Not because of what Flash had did, but because of what Spike had dun afterwords.

Twilight felt a small claw on her shoulder.  Lifting her head she saw Spike with a sad smile on his face.

"You know your to good for him, right?" Started Spike "He doesn't deserve you".

More tears escaped Twilight and she hugged her oldest friend. She cried and cried.... But Spike never let go.

After what felt like an hour, Twilight stopped crying and looked into Spikes eyes. There was something different, like a spark. It took Twilight a few days after that night to realize what that spark was. It was... Love.

After her epiphany Twilight tried to fight her feeling for Spike. Spike was like her brother or son, It would never workout. But pushing her feelings aside and not embracing them made Twilight a little depressed. So today She was going to confess her feelings to Spike (Know mater the outcome).
