King Sombra's Resurrection
Chapter Five A Daring Escape
Previous ChapterNext ChapterSuddenly at a nearby cottage, a fireplace was burning orange and yellow flames but then changed to green. A scroll shot out of the fire place and landed on the table. The mare was a maroon color and her mane was curled to the right side. Her cutie mark was a four leafed clover. She unrolled the scroll, reading the words. It read “My dear friend, I am in a tower trapped. Please do the following as listed in this note. First, pack saddlebags, second find my high royal guards in the east of your village. Give them this note. It has instructions to where I am. I have a plan to escape, so please send this to them by any and all means necessary. Take care your friend and royal gal pal, Princess Celestia. The mare ran, packed with saddlebags and the note. She got to an old stone castle that looked new and improved. She pushed the doors opened, and saw a huge royal guard pony and walked up to him and gave him the note she carried and the saddlebags. He read the note and shouted to the other guards in white armor, “The princess sent us a note telling us where to head to. We are going to the castle in the south. Yes I know that it is his castle, but for the sake of the princess we need to get her out of there. Follow me colts and move it!” With that they
took flight to the castle in the south. They got there in time.
It was nightfall, and most of the guards were sleeping in the castle except the royal guards. One guard was by the door where the princess was. She heard and guard outside the door go “ugh”, followed by the sounds of a thud and hooves clopping up to the door. It opened, and she took the key that was hidden and handed it to her highly trusted, guard. He put the key in the hole of the gate door. It clicked and swung opened. She walked over to the dragon with the egg and picked it up. The guard put saddlebags on her, as requested in the note. She smiled but there was one more thing she would have to do before she left. She went to the throne room, and it was empty as she hoped it would be. She walked over to the wall that she remembered being shown, placing her hoof on the center of the wall and pushed it in, the wall split and opened as it had done so before. The green orb was there still she took the green orb and put it in her saddlebag. The wall closed and she took off with her royal guards.
The next morning the king woke up. The rumors about the princess escaping fled around the whole castle, he was not furious. He was calm and said, “She is not important now so no use going after her again, however, bring me the historian. Perhaps he can write this down”. A blue colt walked up to a writing desk. His blue mane was slicked back, and his eyes were a calm lime green. His cutie mark was a red feathered quill and a parchment rolled with a red wax crest on it. He was writing down frantically of this history of the princess escaping with his blue horn glowing reddish hue, and his name was Penmanship Pembroke. That night he finished writing down everything he could. He went outside and his eyes changed to red, his mouth had fangs. He said to himself “Oh if only one bite of King Sombra and his terror would end”. “If only”, his thoughts echoed.
