All my life I had idolized one pony and one pony alone. Princess Celestia. I had always dreamed of joining her school and doing magic to wow her and claim a part in her life. But that would never happen since I was a mere Pegasus and could not do magic like unicorns. So I stood in the sidelines. Waiting. Just waiting for her to notice me.
Both my parents were unicorns. And so were my grandparents. Everyone in my family were unicorns apart from me. I was the black sheep, being a Pegasus was quite odd. I would always ask my mother at bedtime, "Mother, why am I a Pegasus yet you and father are unicorns?" She would always reply with "Because, my dear Whispy, you are special" and she would wrap me up in a huge hug. She was a pale pink pony with a blue and white mane. Her name was Gemstone Shine. My father was jet black with a blue mane, he was Dusks End. I on the other hoof, was a white pony with a hot pink mane and tale. I was a Pegasus filly and had striking blue eyes. My name was Whispy Dreams.
I never remembered my young childhood. There were gaps in my life, all were from my younger days. On my 7th birthday, my parents bought me a quill. It was special. Or at least I though it was. It could have been me. Because from that moment, I had the ability to write ponies dreams. That is how I had gotten my cutiemark. A white quill and a star. Representing the dreams I had written. Then my dreams came true. The first dream I wrote went to Princess Celestia herself. She had knocked on my door one day and asked to see me. I was terrified. What had I done wrong? Should I have not written her dream?! Nervous, I stood there shaking "Do not be alarmed" she said. I stopped shaking immediately. Something about her made me happy and warm. She closed her eyes and said "Can you please show how you have such a talent? Writing ponies dreams?" She said. My heart stopped "How did you know!" I squeaked. She just smiled. From that moment forth, I was under her wing, working with her to write ponies dreams. Turns out it wasn't me or the quill that had the power to do so. It was both. The quill was special, the feather of a white Phoenix, and I had the ability to do many things with my powers. Turns out you don't have to be a unicorn to use magic. A few years later, I was accepted into the Wonderbolts. I placed 2nd, narrowly missing 1st place at the qualifier, allowing me to pass. I had always been a strong flyer. "You've got something special in you kid" Spitfire had said, I beamed with pride and had always been determined to win races.
I remember one horrible day my parents made me sit down. They admitted something I wish I had never heard. I was adopted. Apparently, when I was a young filly, Princess Celestia had found me in her old abandoned castle. I flew out of the house, and went straight to Celestia. I burst through the door, tears streaming down my face, and screamed "WHY! WHY HAD YOU NOT TELL ME" she dropped the letter she was readin and lowered her head, tears selling up in her eyes. "I am so sorry Whispy... I-I just thought it was better for....." She wrapped me in her wing. And there I stood for half an hour crying with her.
