Applebloom stared defiantly at the forest entrance, her throat pulsing as she swallowed her apprehension. Every time she visited Zecora, it seemed she couldn’t get past her fear of the Everfree Forest. Clenching her teeth, she braved the dark shadows and started down the path.
“Ah swear,” She huffed under her breath. “Ah'm never gonna get used to this…” Focusing on the shadowy path in front of her, Applebloom ignored the low hissing sounds, glowing eyes, and looming trees overhead. She had done this hundreds of times over the years, but this place still spooked her. She shuffled through piles of dead leaves, over jutting roots, and past a wide swath of Poison Joke. She’d run afoul of that particular plant more times than she’d care to admit. Why Zecora kept it on the path to her cottage remained a mystery.
Ever since Applebloom’s first encounter with Zecora, she’d had an interest in brewing potions. Her talent was recognized by Twilight, who had agreed to help all of the Crusaders with their interests. Sure enough, each of them had discovered their respective talents during their time spent with Twilight. Sweetie Belle enjoyed magic and learning, Scootaloo was an adept mechanic and could fix most anything, and Applebloom’s talent at brewing simple concoctions had increased almost exponentially.
Twilight could help Sweetie Belle, but she only had so many diagrams of steam engines and carts that Scootaloo could learn from, and her knowledge of brewing paled in comparison to Zecora’s. So, ever since Applebloom had received her cutie mark, she took it upon herself to make the daily trek to the mysterious zebra’s home. And she had been doing so for the past several years. Even after all this time, though, the walk there remained as ominous and threatening as it ever was.
After several nerve-wracking minutes of dodging flora, ignoring predators, and all but sprinting down wider stretches of path, Applebloom finally arrived at Zecora’s home. The cottage was no less imposing than the rest of Everfree, but Applebloom knew better than to be fearful of the strange masks and odd fetishes hanging around. Some of them were for protection. Others were for well-being. Others still promoted long life or helped Zecora with her strange nature affinity. Some of them, Applebloom had helped create. She smiled warmly at one of them on her way towards the door. Right before she knocked, though, it swung open.
Applebloom gave a soft ‘eep’ of surprise and leapt back as a stallion emerged from the cottage, his cheeks flushed and his head dipped low. “E-excuse me,” He stuttered, shuffling past Applebloom and towards the gap in the trees where the path back to Ponyville lay. Applebloom watched him leave, a curious frown on her lips. Zecora called to her from inside.
“You have excellent timing, Applebloom. Come in, to my sitting room.” Alien smells wafted out of Zecora’s hut, making Applebloom scrunch her nose. She had been working with the eccentric zebra quite a lot the past few years, and as such was able to identify most anything she had come across in the primal hut. But this scent was new and intriguing. She inhaled it deeply, trying to place it somewhere in her mind.
“Hey Zecora,” Applebloom offered, still puzzling over the scent. “Are you cooking something new?”
“This is no cake or a stew, I’ll be with you in a few.” Zecora called out from behind a heavy curtain of beads, where Applebloom knew her bedroom was. Still sniffing interestedly, Applebloom took a seat on one of the chairs at Zecora’s lone table. She wracked her brain trying to think of where she had smelled this before. Part of it was familiar, from her time working with Zecora, but the other half was unknown to her.
“Some trouble in your voice I sense, I hope it’s not from this strange scent.” Zecora emerged from the curtain, the beads parting around her slender frame with ease. She smiled at Applebloom warmly, taking the chair opposite her.
“Ah’d be lyin’ iffen ah said this don’t smell interestin’,” Applebloom scrunched her nose and closed her eyes, still trying to explore the smell. “What in tarnation is it?”
“Forgive me for being frank, as this smell is quite dank…” Zecora leaned across the table, drawing Applebloom’s attention with a gentle touch to the back of her hoof. “How much experience, young Applebloom… Have you had in your bedroom?”
“In my bedroom?” Applebloom cocked her head back slightly. “Whaddya mean, like, with stallions?”
“Stallion or mare, I cannot compare. Personally, I like both in my lair.” Zecora grinned deviously as she leaned back in her chair. “Some ailments cannot be healed by potions or brews, so I resort to ‘aahs’ and ‘oohs.’ That stallion you just met had such a need, that I had to help him… To a degree. I apologize for the smell, though I am glad I did not yell…”
“Yell?” Applebloom perked up a bit. “What fer?” Zecora blushed at the question, looking down at the table from embarrassment.
“Some stallions offer a little more, than other partners, who can be a bore. That last guest performed with zeal, it took a lot to not let loose a mighty squeal.” Zecora’s blush deepened as she squirmed in her chair. Applebloom was blushing herself, as she just learned what the other half of the smell was. Being a virgin herself, she’d never experienced sex, or any of its accompanying sensations – smell being one of them. Still, that didn’t explain the other half, the one she was familiar with. She glanced at Zecora once more.
“Yer brewin’ a health potion.” She said succinctly, glancing towards the ever-bubbling cauldron Zecora had in the other room.
“Indeed I am, my protégé, you’ve discovered without delay. Come with me and you will see, the benefits of stallion seed.” Zecora slipped off of her chair and ushered Applebloom into the other room, where she sniffed at the cauldron of bubbling fluid. “This mixture is nearly ready, if you’d like a taste I would beware. The taste alone can be awfully heady, and have adverse effects upon a mare.”
“I’m good, thanks.” Applebloom frowned at the musky-smelling potion and shook her head. “Jes’ tell me what it does.”
“A stallion’s essence can assist in sealing love with a first kiss.” Zecora explained, dunking a spatula into the mix. She lifted the concoction to her lips and took a tentative sip, smacking her lips before nodding her approval. She began scooping the rest into glass vials, which she had in abundance.
“So it’s a love potion?” Applebloom asked, grabbing another spatula to assist. Being Zecora’s apprentice, she often helped out with this part anyways. “Ah thought love potions didn’t exist…”
“A love potion this is not… A lust potion comes from this draught.” Zecora set a small collection of bottles aside, glancing back at Applebloom. “I am surprised, my young friend. I’d have thought you’d understand… Love-making is a strange art, and some ponies take it to heart. But for a zebra like me, I can say with pride… I enjoy the deed, and my lust I cannot hide. Would you like to learn, my protégé, what stallions yearn in a good lay?”
“Are you… Offerin’ to teach me… How to have sex?” Applebloom asked cautiously, suddenly rather off-put. She had put such effort into studying brewing the past few years that finding a stallion – or any mate, for that matter – had fallen by the wayside. Jumping so suddenly to the topic of sex put her on-edge.
“Indeed I am, young Applebloom. Though at the very least, I must confess, a lesson on sex I had planned next.”
“Ah don’t see how that’s important fer makin’ potions…” Applebloom glanced back at the cauldron, now empty of any odd-smelling concoction. The smell remained, though, making her shudder a little now that she knew what it was.
“As I just demonstrated, stallion seed is quite strong. In the past, some were castrated, just to have their valuable shlong.” Zecora waved a hoof out over the empty cauldron, smiling at her warmly. “Semen has many valuable properties, and is sought in large quantities. I take what I can as a sort of payment, and it helps make visits a touch more frequent.”
“Ah’ve never even heard of using… That stuff… In a potion.” Applebloom pondered the new situation thoughtfully. “What does it all do?”
“Many many wonderful things, from help in bed to relieving bee stings.” Zecora padded towards her sole bookcase and lifted a moderate volume out. Applebloom joined her as she leafed through the pages, settling on one near the back. “Contained here is a helpful list, of properties derived from dicks.” Zecora let Applebloom read the page, who quickly opened her eyes in wonder.
“Wow, really? It says here that stuff, when mixed properly, cin relieve colds and fevers, reduce pain an’ swellin’, act as an aphrodisiac, kill blood parasites… Is there anythin’ this stuff CAN’T do?”
“Normal stallion spunk is versatile, though it doesn’t not keep for but a while. A longer-lasting storing spunk, does exist in special junk.” Zecora leaned past Applebloom to flip the page. Applebloom gasped at what she saw.
“I find myself in dire need,” Zecora breathed against Applebloom’s ear. “Of some bona-fide dragon seed.”
Applebloom didn’t leave Zecora’s until late that evening. The Everfree was even more imposing during the nighttime, but she was happy to have made it out unscathed. She had waded through the Poison Joke on accident, so a bath was in order by the time she came home. Thankfully, nopony saw her come in so they didn’t have to question why she had suddenly grown a miniature apple tree out of her back. Sighing softly, she settled into the herb-laced bath water, feeling the effects of the Poison Joke dissipate. It had been a long day full of stress of one kind or another, so she lavished in the hot water for a long while.
Only when her hooves grew pruny did she emerge from the bath, sighing tiredly. After toweling off and plodding into her room, she collapsed on her bed and fell asleep immediately. Given the nature of her lesson with Zecora that day, her dreams were troubled with erotic images and panting, moan-inducing shots of pleasure through her system. More than once, she awoke with her hooves between her thighs and plenty of wetness on the sheets.
She didn’t sleep well. When the other ponies began to stir and prepare for their day, she reluctantly joined them, running on about three hours. First things first, she needed to do the laundry. After stripping her sheets and lugging them down to the wash, she met up with Applejack.
“Heya Applebloom!” Her bigger sister beamed warmly at her. “Ah didn’t see ya come home last night. We was startin’ ta worry.”
“No need to worry, Applejack.” Applebloom smiled at her tiredly. “Ah ran inta some Poison Joke on mah way home anyways. You wouldn’t have wanted ta see me.”
“Ah see. Was it the tree or the leaves this time?”
“Tree.” Applebloom chuckled as her sister ruffled her mane playfully.
“So didja just spend all day out there, then?” Applejack leaned against the house next to the wash tub, pulling an apple from her saddlebags to munch on.
“Yeah… Zecora had a… uuh… ‘Hard’ lesson fer me.” Applebloom blushed at the analogy and focused on scrubbing her sheets.
“Ah see. We was just worried about you is all. Say, uuh, somma the trees in the Southern pasture have been lookin’ a bit down. D’you think you could take a look at ‘em?”
“Sure.” Applebloom yawned. “Ah’ll be out there jes’ as soon as ah finish hangin’ these out ta dry.”
“Thanks a bunch, Applebloom.” Applejack finished her apple and tossed the core off to a nearby stand of trees – so the seeds might take root. “Oh, and…” She turned back, grinning at Applebloom teasingly. “Y’all might wanta touch yerself in the bath. ‘Makes cleanup easier.”
“Wha- hey!” Applejack vanished around the side of the house, much to Applebloom’s chagrin. She glared at the last strands of her sister’s tail before scrubbing the dark spots out of her sheets. She seethed for only a minute longer before thinking about what Applejack said. She probably knew a lot about this sort of thing. Applebloom had seen a few stallions come and go over the years, and even a few mares that her brother had been with. She wasn’t some innocent young filly anymore. She ought to ask one of them about those sorts of things…
The sort of thing Zecora wanted her to do.
“Say, AJ…” Applebloom turned away from the sick tree she had been looking at the face her sister, just a few hours after she had finished her laundry. “Ah, uuh… Had a few questions. About… Stuff.”
“Stuff?” Applejack cocked her head curiously. “What sorta stuff?”
“About…” Applebloom blushed and shuffled her hooves. “Uum… Mature stuff.”
“What, you mean sex?” Applejack cut straight to the heart of the matter, making Applebloom blush even more. “Aw, c’mon now, sis.” Applejack ruffled her mane again. “You know ya cin ask me ‘bout that sorta stuff anytime. Where to begin…” She tapped her lower lip thoughtfully for a few moments before settling on a starting point.
“Well, why don’tchya tell me who y’all got yer eye on?”
“Eer…” Applebloom looked down at her hooves, still blushing furiously. The next word she spoke was quieter than a whisper. “Spike.”
“Who?”
“S-s…. It’s…”
“Spit it out now.”
“Spike.” Applebloom spat. She could have sworn she could light a fire with how hot her cheeks felt just then. When she risked a glance upwards, Applejack’s cheeks mirrored her own. Her mouth hung open in shock, and she stared at Applebloom incredulously. After a few long, tense moments, Applejack finally closed her mouth and smiled.
“You don’t say. Spike, huh?”
“Y-yeah…” Applebloom whimpered. Of course it’d be unnatural for a pony to be feeling that sort of way about a dragon, but to Applebloom, it extended much deeper than a simple attraction. Granted, she’d been around the dragon ever since she was a filly, and watching him grow into an admirable teenage dragon was a blush-inducing affair on its own. He was a good friend to her and the other crusaders, and thinking about him as something more wasn’t an entirely unwelcome idea.
But Zecora needed something more from the dragon, and Applebloom was willing to get it for her. Not just willing, but if her dreams were any indication, eager as well. She had a few questions, and looking back, perhaps Applejack wasn’t the smartest choice to ask about having sex with a dragon. Applebloom was about to take back her question when her sister stepped forth and slung a hoof over her back.
“You n’ me are gonna have a long talk ‘bout fuckin’ a dragon.”
“Ah can’t believe yer doin’ this for me.” Applebloom blushed as she yanked a brush through her mane. Applejack just chuckled and worked on braiding her tail.
“Jes’ relax and remember what ah told you.” She muttered, trying unsuccessfully to wrangle Applebloom’s tail into the intricate series of ties. Being a humble earth pony, she was having difficulty. And it was not boding well for Applebloom’s pain threshold, either. Applejack had the tendency of pulling a little harder than she ought to.
“Ah know, but- OW! Easy, AJ… Ah jes can’t believe yer tryin’ ta get yer little sister laid. And after all you went ahead an’ did with him, too.” Applebloom finally finished brushing her mane, but Applejack wasn’t quite finished with her tail just yet. She stood in front of her vanity’s mirror, sighing softly.
“Yeah, well… When Twilight gets it in her head to git somethin’ done, she don’t take no fer an answer. You know me, always willin’ to help out… Ah never thought ah’d actually… HNN! Like it!”
“AAH!” Applebloom stumbled back as Applejack gave her tail a firm tug, all but pulling her off her hooves. “That one really hurt, Applejack!”
“Yeah, but ah’m done now.” Applejack patted her flank with a smile. “That oughta do the trick. Give it a look.” Applebloom glared at her sister before turning around and looking at her tail in the mirror. The very base of her tail had been wrapped in a tight leather throng, putting about six inches between the rest of it and her rump. All she had to do was flex a little and her tail swished aside, completely opening her up… back there. The strands poking out above the leather throng were braided tight, looking rather stylish despite Applejack’s clumsy maneuvering. Even just walking around, Applebloom’s marehood would be easily visible. She blushed brightly and opened her mouth in shock.
“A-Applejack, this is… This is too much!”
“Hey, Spike likes it that way.” Applejack chuckled and walked a circle around her. “Ah’ve used this’un before a few times. Don’t worry.” She grinned at Applebloom’s shocked expression. “Ah washed it.”
“D-does he really like it?” Applebloom whispered, swaying her hips a little. The braided strands of her tail swung through the air with weight, passing back and forth over her hindquarters in a rather enchanting display of erotic temptation. She felt her blush intensify as Applejack paused to watch.
“Lookin’ good, Applebloom.”
“Hey.” Applebloom spun to face her sister, frowning intently. “Tyin’ it is one thing. Lookin’ at it is another. Git outta here.”
“Aw no need to be like that.” Applejack lowered her torso, getting a steady center of gravity before dancing around Applebloom. She whirled around, but Applejack remained behind her, laughing loudly. “Y’all might be my sister, but ah like lookin’ at you all the same.” Applebloom was starting to get dizzy, but she was suddenly stopped by Applejack looming up in front of her. With a soft cry, she lost balance and fell. Applejack stood over her, grinning teasingly.
“That’s gross.” Applebloom curled up as best she could, but Applejack just laughed and leaned into nip her ear.
“Relax. Big Mac and I mess around all the time. ‘S only natural ah come to look at you in the same light… Age difference aside.”
“We’re only five years apart.” Applebloom glared up at her sister. “But really? You and Big Macintosh… Do this sorta thing?”
“Uh huh.” Applejack offered a hoof to help her up. “He was muh first. Ah don’ think he likes you like that, though… So y’all don’t need ta worry.”
“Th-thanks…” Applebloom stood up with a blush. “Ah never knew we was like this…”
“It don’t bother you, do it?” Applejack’s tone turned serious as she lifted Applebloom’s chin up.
“Ah don’t know how to feel about it…” Applebloom confessed, blushing even more.
“Trust me, lil’ filly.” Applejack chuckled and ruffled her mane again. “Soon enough you’ll come to see sex ain’t about that kinda love. It encompasses all kinds of love. Brotherly and sisterly, too. Ah love Big Mac the same way you do. It’s just that we like makin’ eachother feel good sometimes.”
“Is that all?” Applebloom asked. “You two don’t want to… I dunno… Have foals or anythin’ like that?”
“Naw.” Applejack shrugged and kicked the wooden floor with a slight blush. “Ah ain’t found nopony who ah think I’d be able ta have kids with. Even if they did, ah don’t wanna lose what ah got with Big Mac, Twilight, and the others… Ah don’t think they’d understand. In a way, with how close ah am to Twilight, Big Mac, Rarity, and all the others, I don’t think ah’m gonna need a stallion in mah life. Ah’m happy livin’ the way ah am…” She smiled warmly at Applebloom. “Ah hope you’d feel the same way about you an’ the other Cutie Mark Crusaders.”
“Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo?” Applebloom chewed on the thought for a while. “Ah mean, we grew up together an’ all that…”
“Jes think about it, Applebloom. And look at it this way: What I do with Twilight ain’t the same thing ah do with Fluttershy. Jes ‘cause Twilight and ah have sex now and then don’t mean we’re any closer friends than Fluttershy an’ I are – even though we don’t do nothin’ like that. You can be close to Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle with or without the sex. But keep yer mind open. Sharin’ things like that makes y’all closer friends… whether or not you actually do it is another deal.”
“Ah never thought about it like that.” Applebloom was still trying to wrap her mind around the whole thing. She never knew Applejack fooled around with her big brother, or any of the elements of harmony. Or Spike, for that matter. Now, she was beginning to see how sex fit into Applejack’s relationships. Not just her, but most everypony in Ponyville. Even Zecora had sex openly, and enjoyed many different partners. Both mares and stallions. There was no reason for her to be nervous anymore.
And if what Zecora told her was true, she had every right to be excited.
“Thanks, AJ… Ah don’t suppose that… If ah ever got the inklin’ to try… Y’know… With another mare…?”
“Ah’d be happy ta give you a few pointers. If not a lesson or two.” Applejack smiled and wrapped Applebloom in a warm hug. “Ah’m glad yet startin’ to open yer mind ta these sorts o’ things. Truth be told, ah’ve been waitin’ fer it.”
“How long?” Applebloom pulled away from the hug with a teasing grin.
“Ever since y’all got yer mark.” Applejack confessed. “Ah remember how happy an’ excited you were to discover yer talent. Same day, ah went to have a talk with Zecora. Took some doin’, but ah got her to agree to train ya.”
“Whaddya mean, took some doin’?” Applebloom cocked her head to the side. “You don’t mean you an’ Zecora…”
“Oh yeah we did.” Applejack chuckled and nudged Applebloom with her hip. “Several times. Ah tell ya, that zebra shore knows what a mare wants.” Applejack laughed at her shocked face and ushered her out of her bedroom. “C’mon, lil missy. Spike’ll be here any minute, an’ we need to clear out b’fore y’all get into it.”
“R-right.” Applebloom stumbled along after her sister, many new thoughts crossing her budding mind. She had never in a million years dreamed sex would be so casual in their society. It was always talked about in hushed whispers and done behind closed doors. Sweetie Belle had so many stories about how Rarity took her partners into a special room that had a ton of locks on it and was never opened for anypony. She always thought it was something private; shunned, even.
But just like with Zecora, once they crossed the proverbial bridge, nothing was off-limits. She had learned things about Applejack in the past five minutes that she had never learned in eighteen years of living with the mare. Still blushing, Applebloom made her way downstairs, where Big Mac stood by the front door.
“Y’all ready, Big Mac?” Applejack unabashedly strode up to her brother and kissed him full on the lips. Applebloom started a little, but remembering the sort of bond Applejack said she shared with him, she managed to restrain herself to a modest blush.
“Eerm… Did y’all tell Applebloom ‘bout us?” He asked hesitantly.
“Shure as shoot ah did.” Applejack grinned over her shoulder at Applebloom. “She knows jes’ about everything ‘bout us now.”
“An’ you understand?” Big Mac looked at her with an arched eyebrow. Applebloom swallowed hard and nodded.
“Y-yeah… Jes cuz you two do that stuff don’t mean nothin’ too special… An’ you still love eachother like a brother an’ sister.”
“Good.” Big Mac smiled warmly and ruffled her mane. “Ah’m glad you understand.”
“Jes don’t expect me to suck yer dick any time soon.” Applebloom shot back at him. Both of them stopped and stared at her for a few long moments before bursting out in laughter. She joined in warmly, glad she could joke with them like this. After giving them both a quick hug and a kiss goodbye, Applebloom watched them leave Sweet Apple Acres… And watched her guest for the evening arrive.
“Hey Applebloom.” Spike beamed at her as he approached the front door. “You look beautiful tonight.”
“Th-thanks, Spike.” Applebloom blushed and smoothed her mane down with a hoof. “Ah’m glad you like it. C’mon in.” She turned to lead him into the house, and just like she knew he would, Spike stiffened on the stairs. She grinned back at him teasingly, swaying her hips on her way inside.
“H-hey, Applebloom…” Spike followed her in, though his cheeks were bright red. “Y-your tail… It’s…”
“Yeah, Spike?” Applebloom teased, looking back at him again.
“It’s beautiful.”
“Why thank you, Spike.” She gave a little giggle and slipped around the corner into the living room. That gave her a moment to catch her breath, her heart thundering in her chest. Over the years, Spike had grown just as much as she had. He was a little taller than her, and a little bit better-built. While she had reached Applejack’s size comparatively, Spike was almost as large as Big Macintosh. Rather than dwell on her budding feelings for the dragon, she slipped up onto the couch. The small table before her had been laid out with a small selection of alcohol and drinks. Another tip from Zecora, having a few drinks before could help prepare her for what was to come. It was as much for her benefit as it was Spike’s.
“Awesome. I’m parched.” Spike entered the living room a bit later than she would have expected; probably because he had paused on the threshold to collect himself. She was glad for the chance to do the same. Now, though, he slipped into the living room and up onto the couch next to her. He immediately poured himself a glass of hard cider and took a healthy swig. Applebloom followed his example, thankful for the chance to be doing something with her hooves, and not just sitting there awkwardly.
Applejack had agreed to help Applebloom have her first experience. That day in the orchard, she had shared quite a bit sisterly advice with Applebloom, and the two talked in-depth about their mutual feelings towards Spike. Furthermore, Applejack had agreed to get Spike to visit, so that he and Applebloom could ‘explore themselves.’ On top of all that, she’d clue in Big Mac and go visit Twilight or one of the other elements for the night, so they’d even have the house to themselves. But the one thing Applebloom didn’t know was how much her sister had told Spike about her plans. Or her feelings.
’Just like with everypony else… You have to cross the bridge.’ She thought with a grimace. After a few more moments of awkward silence, she finally worked up the courage to speak.
“S-so… Applejack asked you to come over…”
“Uh huh.” Spike set his half-empty glass down to look at her. She couldn’t read his expression, but she felt like an open book to him.
“Did she, uuh… Tell you why…?”
“She did.” Spike admitted. They were silent for a few moments before he gave a soft snort and rubbed the back of his neck. “Feels an awful lot like your friends are tryin’ to get you laid, huh?”
“Or your family.” Applebloom giggled. She and Spike looked at one another for a few long moments before breaking into laughter. That, more than anything else, relaxed them both. Applebloom scooted a little closer to lay her head on Spike’s shoulder. He adjusted to lay a claw over her back, drawing her close against his side. She sighed softly, thankful he understood and had agreed.
Partly because she wanted him to be her first, and partly because she wanted to see what Zecora had planned for the product of this evening. Brewing was her specialty, after all.
Spike seemed to radiate warmth. She nestled closer to his side, taking periodic sips of alcohol to steady her nerves. The cold alcohol in combination with Spike’s unnatural warmth had her feeling loose and relaxed before long. They remained silent, simply enjoying the closeness of one another.
But sooner or later, the alcohol began to take effect on them both. Spike’s claw began to stroke up and down her side, not scratching her as much as he was caressing her. She groaned as his gentle touch passed over her flank, sliding as low as her cutie mark before gliding back up as high as her neck once more. Her current drink lay forgotten on the table as she silently urged him to keep rubbing, or at least to rub somewhere else.
“Applebloom…” Spike muttered, low and quiet. She looked up at him with big eyes. “I, uuh…”
