THE REVENGE OF NIGHTMARE MOON
PONYVILLE UNDER SIEGE
ONE THOUSAND YEARS AGO........
“Charge!!!!!!!” A male colt yelled out followed by thousands of pounding hooves on the ground as Princess Celesta's and Nightmare Moon's forces clashed in a barren wasteland that had been rendered to this state over the course of many years of wars.
The many dying cries of colts and fillies alike could be heard echoing throughout the land as soldiers from both sides trampled each other,used forbidden magics to slay each other on the ground.
Meanwhile up in the sky hundreds of Pegasus clashed hooves that had be equipped with deadly sharp pointed ends to stab their foes with. Feathers flew,wings were ripped apart,Ponies fell from the sky and hit the ground with a sicking thud. The bodies of hundreds of dead Pegasus lay scattered through the land as troops from both sides fought on ignoring them.
“AAAHHHHHHHH!!!” A colt shouted at the top of his lungs as he charged in using his sharpened hooves to impale four foes at once however becoming gravely injured in the process. “Standing up wearily he looked at the coming forces to finish him off and gave a short snort and a sigh “I suppose i'll never see my daughter or wife again after this....” The colt thought to himself taking her stance, his cutie mark which was party hats brandishing in the moonlight as he prepared to clash. “For my daughter!!!!!” The colt shouted at the top of his lungs and charged forward...
Several days later in a camp not far away from the battle a solider colt walked into a tent and saluted a mare whose flank sported a cutie mark of cupcakes. She also wore a hat with many stars on it.” General Pie. I have a urgent report from the front.” The solider colt said handing the mare a rolled up scroll. “My god.....and what of my husband?” The mare asked as she looked over the report.
“I'm afraid commander Pie died in the line of duty.” The solider said lowering his head only to be startled by the mare slamming a hove on the table.
“Elena Pie....or rather general pie....nice to see you again.” Nightmare moon said with a malicious smile.
“Nightmare Moon...you won't take another step!” Elena said taking a stance.
“Oh? And what would a feeble pony such as yourself do?” Nightmare Moon said with a cackle and short a beam of dark magic from her horn at Elena who dodged barely but her hat was knocked off revealing a horn.
“A unicorn?!” Nightmare moon said in shock. “so that's why you always wore hats....” Nightmare moon said with a fierce expression.
“It's time for you to find out why I was hove chosen by princess celesta as general. She knew you would come for the general directly!” Elena shouted as her horn glowed brightly and fired at Nightmare Moon who countered with her own dark magic.
The beams of magic seemed to be at a stalemate for sometime until Nightmare Moon's beam of magic seemed to be growing stronger pushing back Elena's. “It...can't....be!” Elena said in a strained voice as she concentrated all her magic but it seemed to be feeble against Nightmare Moon. Eventually Nightmare Moon's magic overwhelmed Elena and sent her flying back hitting the ground a few times before rolling on her side on the ground barely conscious.
“Selena.............I love you....my daughter....” Elena said as a hove came crashing down with a sickening thud.
At that precise moment a loud clash of thunder echoed outside a home in Ponyville. A pink mare shot up from her bed beads of sweat running down her head as a storm raged outside. She breathed heavily looking out her window. Her normally puffy and frizzed hair was flat and smooth as she tried to figure out if the dream she had was real or something her mind just made up. “wow-wie....that was some dream...” The pink mare said as she got out of bed and stretched. Her cutie mark which was balloons showing on her flank as she stretched. As she stretched her flat and smooth hair suddenly poofed out into it's normal frizzy and puffy appearance. The mare looked outside her window at the raining sky and the lightning bolts that shot through the sky. “Why do I keep having this dream? Oh Pinkie Pie...maybe you should lay off the cupcakes...they are giving ya weird dreams...” Pinkie Pie said to herself. Pinkie Pie of course never knew how her parents died. She often tried not to think about it but these reoccurring dreams of hers were causing her to think and wonder about it more and more as of late...
Later that day Pinkie Pie visited with her friends who were gathered at their usual spot which was at Twilight's house. Twilight was the first to notice that Pinkie Pie wasn't being her usual cheerful self.
“Yepie,depie!” Pinkie Pie replied however her face said otherwise.
Applejack was second to notice.” Pinkie...you're looking like you just lost the a best party contest or somethin their sugarcube.” Applejack said looking at Pinkie Pie.
“Oh darling, Applejack's right. You look positively depressed. What happened?” Rarity chimed in.
“I'm fine!” Pinkie Pie replied however none looked convinced.
“Are you sure you okay? You can talk to us about it. That is...if you want to.” Fluttershy said taking note of what everyone else noticed.
“Would everypony just lay off! I'm fine!!!” Pinkie shouted in a abnormally rude tone and ran off just as Rainbow Dash flew in.
“Wow...what's up with Pinkie Pie? She looked pis-” “Yes we know rainbow. She's upset about something and she's not telling us....” Rarity said cutting off Rainbow Dash and looking at Pinkie Pie who was just about out of sight by now.
“This isn't like Pinkie Pie girls. I don't know what's bugging her but it can't be good.” Twilight said after a moment.
“Uhh...Twilight....i think we have more pressing matters to attend to.” Rarity said looking out to the sky which was now darkening suddenly.
“Whoa Nelly! What in tarnation is up with the sky going dark like that?” Applejack said noticing it herself.
“I'm gonna find out!” Rainbow Dash said and flew out the door and too the skies. As she flew up and looked around she noticed an ominous cloud approaching Ponyville.
Meanwhile on the ground Pinkie Pie was trotting slowly and looking rather depressed until the sudden darkening sky made her look up. What happened next seemed to be a flash before Pinkie's eyes as she found herself in a all too familiar scene. Pinkie looked around as colts and fillies fought killing each other around her. Then in the seemingly same moment flashed back to the current scene that beheld her. “Holy moly! What the heck was that about?!” Pinkie asked aloud suddenly. Was she dreaming? No it couldn't have been something that simple. In the moment she found herself in that horrifying scene she could smell the blood soaked air and hear the dying cries of ponies around her. “What in equestria is going on here?” Pinkie asked herself seriously as the sky continued to darken.
Meanwhile back in the skies the ominous dark cloud soon turned out to be thousands of Pegasus ponies,colts and mares dressed in dark armor, flying strait for Ponyville. (Play Angel of Darkness now)
Before Rainbow Dash could fully grasp the sight that beheld her one of the ponies dashed forward ahead of the pack and thrust a hove which was sporting a sharp blade on it at her. Rainbow Dash reacted on impulse evading the pony with a flash and a rainboom leaving the pony stunned.
“Whoa....how did I pull that one off?!” Rainbow Dash asked herself however the rest of the dark armored ponies were now catching up. Rainbow Dash flew as fast as her wings could carry her back to Twilight's house. “Twilight! We got big trouble! Those Pegasus ponies mean business! One tried to kill me!” Rainbow Dash said dramatically earned horrified gasps from everypony.
It was at this precise moment Pinkie Pie was rushing back to Twilight's house as breakneck speed performing a comical bowling ball “STRIKE!” on all the ponies in her way. “Oh sorry!” Pinkie Pie said with a giggle as she popped her head out of a pile of books however her laughter was short lived as the reality of the situation came back to her head.
“This can't be good.....” Twilight said as the Pegasus ponies landed a short distance away and the horrifying screams of ponies could be heard echoing throughout Ponyville a short few moments later.
Spike who had just been standing frozen in horror up to this point suddenly belched out a letter. He immediately opened it and gasped. “Twilight! This is bad! According to this princess celesta has gone missing!” Spike exclaimed causing everypony to turn around and gasp.
“Who could be doing this?!” Twilight asked in a horrified tone.
“Nightmare Moon.....” Pinkie said in a serious tone.
“Uhh....Pinkie...I don't think that's possible darnlin.” Applejack replied.
“Don't ask me how I know. I just do! It's Nightmare Moon!” Pinkie replied dramatically.
“But Pinkie, Princess Luna put aside her anger and rage against her sister and chose to rule equestria with her as an equal. She would never do this.” Twilight Replied trying to talk some sense into Pinkie but at the same time reassuring herself this wasn't the work of Nightmare Moon.
Suddenly seemingly out of nowhere dark armored ponies charged down Twilight's door. And began swinging bladed hooves at the ponies. “I found them!” One mare shouted. As a flurry of bladed hooves and normal ones flew throughout Twilight's home.
As suddenly as it had happened it ended with Applejack standing on two ponies having them tied up by the hooves on their backs. “I don't know about y'all but these ponies mean business!” Applejack said hopping down.
“Is everypony okay?” Twilight asked looking around until she stopped suddenly. The blood seemed to drain from Twilight's face as she stared at her number one assistant laying in a puddle of blood with a shocked expressed on his face on the floor.
“S-s-s-spike?” Twilight said in a stunned tone her voice cracking as she spoke his name while she slowly walked over to spoke unable to speak anymore.
“What's wrong Twi-” Applejack began to say only to gasp mid-sentence as she looked where Twilight was looking with a horrified expression on her face.
“Oh my god.........” Fluttershy said after a moment putting both hooves over her mouth as tears flooded her eyes.
“No way.......” Rainbow Dash said as she stared on unable to move.
Pinkie Pie just stared in horror. Her normally frizzy and poofy hair suddenly deflated with a balloon suddenly losing air sound. “It's just like in my dream.....” Pinkie Pie thought to herself as she looked around at Ponyville through the window which was now in flames.
Twilight tried to make her legs move faster. She wanted more than anything to rush to her friends side but for some reason her body refused to move any faster. Each step she took seemed to take an eternity to make. Finally she stepped to his side and knelt beside him. She wanted to lift him up and hold him but as she shaking hooves grew close to him she suddenly slammed them to her face and began to sob loudly.
At last Applejack regained her senses and turned to the dark armored ponies who were trying to get loose but couldn't. Fueled by rage Applejack turned hind end to the dark armored ponies and gave them one hell of a applebuckin strength kick. “Now y'all are gonna tell us who sent ya. Or so help me. I'll use your corpse as fertilizer for my apple orchard!” Applejack shouted lifting one of the dark armored ponies with a hove so it was head level with her.
“Nightmare Moon will come for you. You're the only thing that stands between her and eternal night...” The dark armored pony replied but said no more.
“Nightmare Moon eh?” Twilight's voice suddenly spoke up sounding cold and emotionless.
In the next moment Twilight's horn glowed with a dark aura and her eyes glowed darkly as she shot at the two dark armored ponies evaporating them into ashes on the ground.
“Whoa nelly! Twilight what in tarnation did you just do?!” Applejack said as she jumped back shocked by the dark armored ponies suddenly turning to ashes before her eyes.
Twilight's eyes suddenly returned to normal and she looked about as if she was unaware of what she just did. In the next moment she fell to the ground and began to once again sob loudly.
“Listen. I don't know about you guys. But I don't think Twilight's house is the safest place to be at the moment.” Rainbow Dash spoke up after a few moments seemly ignoring what Twilight just did.
“I want to bury spike.” Twilight said after a few moments.
“Of course darling. I will personally fashion a casket for him.”
A mere hour later just outside of Ponyville the ponies gathered around Spike's grave with their heads held low. (Play “May it Be” now)
“Spike....you were the best assistant I had ever had...i'm so sorry I wasn't there to protect you....” Twilight said in a saddened tone.
“Spike...you were the best darn tooten dragon I ever knew....You were always there to remind us of what true friendship was...” Applejack said wiping a tear from her eye.
“Goodness me...i don't know what to say. I mean...” Rarity said trailing off and began to sob quietly.
“I remember when I first met you spike....you told me everything about your life up till the moment you met me...i'll never forget any of it.” Fluttershy said with a smile even though tears were obviously in her eyes.
“You were the coolest dragon I ever knew. In fact you were twenty percent cooler than i'll ever be...” Rainbow Dash said trying not to cry like Rarity as her voice cracked while she spoke.
“Gosh....I can't even begin to tell you how fun you were to hang with at parties and all. I mean you were always so quiet and I was always so hyper. But you were always the most fun at parties.” Pinkie Pie said trying her best to smile.
After a few moments of silence Twilight turned to face all the ponies. “Nightmare Moon has returned. We must harness the elements of harmony again to defeat her as we did before. So first thing tomorrow we head for canterlot were those Pegasus ponies came from and we end this!
Each and everypony stood watching the horizon as the moon showed brightly in the sky as the wind blew through their manes in the wind as they stared off in the distance....
Ponies and Equestria's past revealed!
THE PONIES AND EQUESTIA'S PAST REVEALED!
Applejack opened her eyes wearily looking dazed as she looked around. As she looked around she saw Pinkie Pie,Rarity,Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy in chains. On the ground looking at her. “Where in tarnation are we?” Applejack asked still dazed as her eyes began to focus. As she looked around what happened suddenly shot back to her.
FLASHBACK
“Possibly, but I reckon we think about it later.” Applejack replied looking up at the sky.
“Why?” Twilight replied with a confused look.
“oh!oh! I know! It's that wave of dark armored Pegasus ponies right?!” Pinkie pie blurted out hoping up and down.
At this everypony looked up and saw the force of dark armored ponies flying strait for them.
“Oh...this won't end well...” Twilight remarked with her flattened.
The Pegasus ponies landed on the ground and stood but not attacking.
“What do you ponies want?!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed.
“I reckon they want a flank kickin like we gave their friends in Twilight's house...” Applejack said taking a stance.
“Don't be so daft. If we wanted to kill you...” A familiar sounding voice came from behind the flank of colts and fillies that parted as the voice grew closer until a blue pony came into view whom all the ponies knew. “You would be dead already.” The blue pony said with a grin.
“Trixie?!” Twilight exclaimed stunned.
“That's General Trixie to you Twilight.” Trixie replied her grin growing wider if possible. “After you made a laughing stock out of me in Ponyville I was contacted by none other than Nightmare Moon herself. She offered me a deal I couldn't refuse.” Trixie said clearly not finished but pausing as if she was waiting for this new set of information to set into the pony's brains. In exchange for serving her when she made her move on that ass of a pony whom you all know as Princess Celestia she granted me magical powers that surpass even you Twilight. But when she offered me the position as head General of her armies...” Trixie trailed off and began to laugh for a few moments. “That was the offer I couldn't refuse.
“Lame!” Rainbow Dash blurted out suddenly.
“What was that?!” Trixie exclaimed angrily with her right eye twitching slightly as she spoke.
“I said that's lame! What you've got is nothing more than borrowed power! Twilight's magic however is all hers. Which makes her way more awesome than you'll ever be!” Rainbow Dash said giving a prideful glance at Twilight then looked back at Trixie with a disappointed look.
“How....dare you!” Trixie exclaimed looking completely pissed off. “You dare to insult the great and powerful General Trixie?!” Trixie shouted placing a hove on her chest as she spoke. “Beat their flanks but don't kill them. Her highness doesn't need to know the exact circumstances of their capture after all....” Trixie said at which point the forces of dark armored ponies charged past Trixie at them. The ponies were overwhelmed quickly with the exception of Applejack and Rainbow Dash whom were giving it all they had.
“Come, get some!” Rainbow Dash shouted as she flew through the skies as several Pegasus ponies followed her having a hard time keeping up.
Meanwhile on the ground Applejack was bucking pony after pony who drew close to her. “Is that all y'all hooligans got? Y'all are nothing but a bunch of pushovers!” Applejack shouted as her hooves connected with a dark armored pony's skull knocking the helm off as it went flying and skidded to a halt several feet away.
Meanwhile in the sky Rainbow Dash was making a round about to attack. “Time to pull off that stunt I pulled off before!” Rainbow Dash said as she picked up tremendous speed charging strait for the Pegasus ponies. Just before she reached them she gave a huge burst of speed causing a sonic rainboom to appear behind her she speed forward literally catapulting any Pegasus pony unlucky enough to be directly in her flight path to the ground leaving small creators where they lay.(Picture charged home run bat hit from Super Smash Brothers Brawl)
“Enough of this!” Trixie shouted as her horn glowed brightly causing a wave of magic to echo from it.
The moment this magic hit Rainbow Dash she suddenly lost speed and began to plummet towards the ground unconscious.
Applejack looked up to see Rainbow Dash falling from the sky and gasped.“Whoa nelly! I got ya Rainbow!” Applejack shouted bucking a dark armored pony,made a mad dash towards where Rainbow Dash was plummeting, jumped into the air, made a mid air twist with her back now facing the ground, caught Rainbow Dash midair, hit the ground crying out in pain as she hit it, and lost consciousness shortly after due to the impact.
END FLASHBACK
By the time she recalled everything her eyes had regained their focus and she was able to see her surroundings perfectly now. The room she was in resembled a dungeon cell with black stone floors and walls surrounding them. As Applejack looked to her right she saw a steel barred door that looked rusted and old but still sturdy.
“Thank goodness you're awake Applejack. This floor is so dirty my hooves and fur coat are becoming simply grotesque just laying here.” Rarity said noticing Applejack was awake.
“Can't y'all just use your magic to break these chains on us?” Applejack replied as she looked down to see her hooves were looked in steel cuffs which were chained together.
“I would but for some reason I can't use my magic in this room.” Rarity replied.
Applejack looked from Rarity to Rainbow Dash who's wings were in cuffs and chained together along with her hooves. “You alright there Rainbow. Y'all gave me quite the scare falling out of the sky like that.” Applejack said with a smile.
“Yeah. I'm fine. I don't know what happened though. I was doing great and suddenly I just fell asleep it seemed like.” Rainbow Dash replied then slammed a hove on the stone floor. “I bet it was that bitch Trixie.” Rainbow Dash said then looked at Rarity wondering why she hadn't cut her off as she usually did.
“What? Frankly I agree with you completely Rainbow. She is a bitch.” Rarity said with a prissy tone causing Rainbow Dash's and Applejack's jaws to drop.
Applejack then turned to Fluttershy who was in similar bindings as Rainbow Dash. “How you holdin up there Fluttershy?” Applejack asked in a concerned tone.
Fluttershy however didn't respond she simply huddled herself in her corner of the dungeon shaking with a terrified wide-eyed look on her face. “Not here....not here....” She repeated in a whisper to herself over and over.
“She's been like that since I woke up...” Pinkie Pie's voice come from the other side of the cell to Applejack's left sounding nothing at all like her usual cherry self.
“Where is Twilight?” Applejack asked looking around the cell for Twilight but saw no sign of her.
“We don't know. Goodness. I hope she's alright...” Rarity replied looking out of the cell.
Meanwhile deep within the castle walls of Canterlot Castle unknown to the Ponies Twilight was hung from the wall by chains from each of her hooves and a strange device on her horn...
Twilight opened her eyes wearily and looked at her surroundings and realized immediately this was Princess Celetsia's throne room however it had a twister and dark makeover done to it.
“So...you're awake. Good.” Nightmare Moon's voice came from the other side of the room. (Play Angel of Darkness now)
Twilight tried to use her magic to free herself from the moment Nightmare Moon suddenly appeared in view in a swirling dark cloud but suddenly felt a sharp pain on her head and stopped.
“Like it? It was an invention from the war. It's called the magic inhibitor. It was used for unicorn's such as yourself who had been captured alive. As long as that device stays on your horn any magic you try to perform will result in a extremely painful and sharp surge of electricity thus preventing you from casting any spells.” Nightmare Moon explained.
“Where are my friends?!” Twilight exclaimed looking pissed off.
“Oh they are safe for the moment...” Nightmare Moon replied turning around from Twilight and took a few steps before stopping. “How long they remain that way depends on you however...” Nightmare Moon said not turning around to face her as she spoke.
“What do you mean?” Twilight replied with a part curious part concerned tone.
“Well...” Nightmare Moon replied trailing off then turned to her. “Hmm...you still don't remember do you?” Nightmare Moon said and took a few steps towards her.
“Remember what? That you deceived us all with your little innocent act after we kicked you're flank?!” Twilight replied her anger once again rising.
“Not that. Oh well. It'll all come back in time. But i'm still surprised you haven't figured out the more obvious reasoning behind me keeping you here instead of in that dirty cell.” Nightmare Moon replied.
“Oh yes. I soo prefer hanging from a wall by chains to laying on a stone floor.” Twilight replied sarcastically. Moments later Nightmare Moon's horn glowed and Twilight's chains disappeared causing her to fall to the floor.
“Better?” Nightmare Moon said after a few moments as Twilight regained herself.
“Much better...” Twilight replied and charged forward at Nightmare Moon only to hit an invisible wall causing her to fall back on her rump dazed from the impact.
“I'm not stupid, Twilight Moon Sparkle” Nightmare Moon replied in a tone that struck Twilight as odd. But was more so odd was the fact that even though she never heard of herself having a middle name it sounded familiar somehow.
“Why does that name sound familiar to me? And how does she know of it?” Twilight asked aloud by mistake.
“I should know of your full name. After all...” Nightmare Moon trailed off turning her back to her again and taking a few steps before turning to face her sideways and turned her head to face her. “I'm the one who gave you that name.” Nightmare Moon said after a few moments with a cruel smile.
Twilight's eyes opened wide and gave a gasp before shaking her head. “You're full of shit! I know who gave me my name! My mother and farther-” “Those ponies weren't you're real mother and father...” Nightmare moon stated simply cutting off Twilight.
Twilight's eyes once again widened in shock and horror at these words. No matter how much she tried...she couldn't dismiss the fact that everything Nightmare Moon was saying sounded true. Despite this however she shook her head once again her anger now nearing it's brink. “You-you-You're lying! My parents raised me since I was a small filly!” Twilight shouted stuttering her words as anger and fear of the thought that what Nightmare Moon was saying was true.
“If you know so much, then tell me! Who?! Who is my real mother and father?!” Twilight shouted immediately regretting she even asked such a question moments after she asked it yet for some reason even she couldn't explain. She wanted to KNOW the truth.
“You're father was my right hoofed general. And as for you mother....” Nightmare Moon trailed off as she noticed Twilight who even though she was standing her ground was trembling fiercely from her hooves to her ears. “Well. It should be obvious by now.” Nightmare Moon said after a few moments.
At these set of words Twilight lost all sense of reality as her eyes widened as far as they could go and her pupils seemed to shrink to their smallest size as she continued trembling. Everything she knew... her parents, her life...had it all been a lie? Is everything she has ever known nothing but lies?
“It-it-it-it-it ca-ca-ca-can't be-be-be tru-tru-true...” Twilight sputtered out stuttering every single word she spoke as she trailed off.
“Oh it's very true my daughter....I am your mother...” Nightmare moon said with a malicious grin.
“It-it-it's n-n-n-not pos-pos-pos-posible!” Twilight nearly screamed holding her head with her front hooves now with her chin on the floor of the throne room.
Meanwhile back in the dungeon cell the ponies were trying to form a plan of escape...
“Nope. That won't work either. Not enough legroom room to kick.” Applejack replied to Rainbow Dash's idea to kick down the steel door.
“This is simply unacceptable! We've been through fifty ideas already and nothing?!” Rarity said looking positively pissed now.
“As much as i'd hate to admit it. We're stuck here unless Twilight comes to our rescue.” Rainbow Dash said after a few moments.
“I reckon you're right. As depressin as it sounds. We're as stuck as a mouse who fell into a puddle of molasses.” Applejack said agreeing with Rainbow Dash.
Suddenly Pinkie Pie's head shot up. “Sweetie belle?” Pinkie said suddenly causing Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity to look in all directions but see nothing then look to her.
“I think you might me losin it there sugarcube.” Applejack said after a few moments.
“Don't ask me how. But...it's like I can feel Sweetie Belle near by.” Pinkie replied looking at the steel barred door.
Moments later Sweetie Belle's head popped out from the right side of the door frame. “Sweetie Belle!” Pinkie Pie cried out joyfully causing every pony to look at the steel barred door and gasp.
“I don't know...all I know is that I had a feeling that I knew Pinkie Pie was somewhere and the closer I got to her the stronger the feeling grew until I popped my head in here and saw you guys.” Sweetie Belle replied.
“Oh Sweetie Belle i'm so glad your safe!” Rarity exclaimed with tears of joy in her eyes.
“More importantly. She's a unicorn! Which means she can use her magic to get out of here!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed with a smile.
“But...i've never tried to use my magic before.” Sweetie belle replied.
At this Rainbow Dash's excitement turned back into dismay and let out a sigh. “Just great....” Rainbow Dash said with a dismal expression on her face.
“It sure as heck can't hurt to give it a shot can it?” Applejack said with a smile trying to sound positive.
“I could try to unlock the door?” Sweetie belle replied with a smile.
“Yeah! That's the spirit!” Pinkie Pie replied with a smile then turned to Fluttershy.
“Hey Fluttershy, come on! Cheer up! Sweetie belle is here to save us!” Pinkie Pie said with a smile however Fluttershy continued to repeat the same thing over and over not even making any motion to show Pinkie Pie she had heard a words she said.
Sweetie belle began to concentrate all her might in order to make her horn glow and make the door unlock.
“Come on Sweetie Belle like this!” Pinkie pie shouted making the same pose as Sweetie Belle.
Much to everyone's shock as Sweetie Belle's horn began to glow a small twinkle began to sparkle on Pinkie Pie's forehead. The more Sweetie Belle's horn glowed the sparkle on Pinkie Pie's forehead grew brighter and brighter. Pinkie Pie no longer looked as she she was acting and more like she was concentrating as hard as Sweetie Belle was.
“What in tarnation is going on?! Why in the hay is Pinkie Pie's forehead glowing like that?” Applejack asked wide-eyed.
“I haven't the slightest.” Rarity replied.
“It's glowing the same spot as a unicorn's horn would be...” Rainbow Dash said trailing off looking in shock.
In the next moment both Pinkie Pie's and Sweetie Belle's eyes both opened simultaneously glowing brightly. As if they were acting as one they both gave a cry at the same time and the door suddenly swung open with a loud clang as it hit the dungeon wall.
SWEETIE BELLE AND PINKIE PIE'S SIMULTANEOUS FLASHBACK:
The colt in the lab coat then proceeded to walk to a cabinet,took out a oddly shaped device and placed it on the filly's horn. “I'm sorry. But this must be done.” The colt in the lab coat said as he pressed the button on the oddly shaped device.
The mare's eyes shot open as the device activated and let out a ear piercing pained scream as the device glowed brightly.
“What in the-?” The colt in the lab coat said unable to believe what he was seeing.
The Pink mare began to glow brightly until the light became blinding. The Pink mare's horn began to disappear but as it did so something else began to take shape beside her. With each centimeter of her horn that disappeared the more this other glowing light began to take shape.
By the time her horn had finally disappeared the other form had taken the shape of a small filly with a small horn. At this moment both Pinkie Pie and the smaller form were screaming out in unison. As the light began to fade their screaming stopped and the device fell from Pinkie Pie's head to the ground with a clattering sound looking completely fried.
This small filly had a pure white coat with purple hair that had a streak of dark pink in it and a pearl white horn on it's forehead.
“What the hell did you do to me?!” The filly exclaimed then looked up at Pinkie Pie.
“Wowie! That was a rush! What happened to me?!” Pinkie Pie said with a giggle and her normally flat hair suddenly poofed out into a frizzy and poofy appearance.
“Astounding....her magic was so great that it split her into two parts of herself. One of which shows the more serious and level minded side...” The colt in the lab coat said trailing off looking at the small filly then looked at Pinkie Pie. “And the side of her who is clearly random and loves to have fun...” The colt in the lab coat said after a few moments.
“You split me in half?!” The filly exclaimed looking turning to look at the Colt in the lab coat.
“Wait, huh? I don't know what you talking about. Hehe!” Pinkie Pie said looking at the smaller filly and giggled.
“But apparently the smaller one knows who she is while the other one doesn't have a clue.” The colt in the lab coat replied looking awed but still serious.
“I'm going to make you pay for this!” The smaller filly exclaimed and began to concentrate to cast a spell with her horn but found she couldn't. “What the-? Why can't i-?” The filly said with shocked expression.
“heh...i have a theory for ya Sweetie Belle. Oh, there we go! We'll call you Sweetie Belle!” The colt in the lab coat said with smile.
“My name is Selena Pie!” The filly replied.
Pinkie Pie snorted and laughed. “I like that name!” Pinkie Pie replied with a smile.
“Why did you do this to me?!” Selena shouted in a demanding tone.
“Well to be frank. It was simply supposed to remove you're horn. But I guess you magic was far too strong even for such a device so in order to preserve itself it gave itself a form. Which was you.” The colt in the lab coat said walking over to a switch.
“What is that switch for?” Selena asked curiously.
“Oh this? This is to give Princess Celestia the signal to cast her spell to make us all forget this war ever happened and rewrite our memories up to this point after all preparations to store our real history have been made. She wanted our history to be preserved for some reason in one way or another. So I stored it in the most unlikely of places to be discovered.” The colt said pointing to an image of a library in Ponyville.
Selena looked over to her right and saw a purple pony laying in a corner surrounded by a magical light. “Wait...who's that?” Selena asked curious pointing to the purple pony with a magical sparkle for a cutie mark on her flank.
“Oh her? That would be the daughter of Nightmare Moon. Her magic is so powerful even she can't control it. The Princess is trying to form a way to help keep her magic in check. Something to do with a purple dragon being some sort of magic absorber or something like that. Now let us embrace an era of peace and prosperity!” The colt replied and flipped the switch.
END FLASHBACK
At this moment Sweetie Belle's eyes and Pinkie Pie's eyes both returned to normal simultaneously.
“Holy crap!” Pinkie Pie and Sweetie Belle shouted at the same time.
“Hold your horses thar. What's the big deal? Besides you and Pinkie Pie over here going all magical on us.” Applejack said looking at Sweetie Belle.
“Pinkie Pie....did you see what I saw?” Sweetie Belle asked curiously.
“Uh-huh....have you been having those dreams too?” Pinkie Pie replied.
“yeah....” Sweetie Belle replied.
“Would someone please explain to me what the heck is going on here?!” Rainbow Dash's voice erupted suddenly causing everypony to look at her.
“Well...it's kind of hard to explain.” Sweetie belle said.
“Me and Sweetie Belle are both one and the same Pony...” Pinkie Pie said in a serious tone much unlike her.
“That simply can not be possible! I remember the day you were born!” Rarity exclaimed.
“It was all a lie....” Sweetie Belle replied.
“Our memories were fudged by Princess Celestia in order to make the world forget the war ever happened and to keep us separated.” Pinkie Pie chimed in.
“What?!” Rarity, Applejack and Rainbow Dash exclaimed nearly simultaneously.
“What war?!” Rainbow Dash asked looking completely confused.
“I think the key to finding out the truth is in the library back in Ponyville the details are still fuzzy.” Sweetie Belle replied.
“Yeah....still fuzzy...” Pinkie Pie replied trailing off.
“For now lets get out of here, Pinkie Pie, You ready?” Sweetie Belle asked looking at Pinkie pie who nodded. The two of them once again began to concentrate simultaneously and in the next moment both Sweetie Belle's horn and Pinkie Pie's forward glowed and sparkled and in the next all the chains and cuffs holding the ponies suddenly disappeared.
“All right! Now lets go kick Nightmare Moons flank back to the moon!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed but just before she could dash out Pinkie Pie bit onto her tail preventing her from flying off.
“Not...yet...we have to get our real memories back first!” Pinkie Pie said through gritted teeth holding her bite on Rainbow Dash's tail until she stopped trying to fly off.
“But we don't know where Twilight is.” Fluttershy's voice came from the corner of the room.
“Fluttershy! You're back to normal!” Pinkie Pie said with a smile and hugged Fluttershy.
“Yes, well. I'm ever so sorry I flipped out like that. I don't cope well with my wings being held against my will. I don't know why...” Fluttershy said with a embarrassed smile.
“I think we do....but me and Pinkie Pie have to do something first” Sweetie Belle said after a moment replying to Fluttershy's comment.
Pinkie Pie stopped hugging Fluttershy and looked at Sweetie Belle.
“Were going to have to become one again... aren't we?” Pinkie Pie said with a frown.
“Yeah...” Sweetie Belle replied at which moment Rarity scooped up Sweetie Belle and hugged her tightly.
“You-You can't! I don't want to lose you Sweetie Belle!” Rarity exclaimed tears flooding from her eyes as she held her.
“You won't lose me sis. Me and Pinkie Pie may become one again but we won't lose our memories of what happened over the years. And it's the only way we can truly stand a chance against Nightmare Moon. Separated we're vulnerable. If one of us dies the magic we have will be lost forever. We can't let Nightmare Moon realize this or she would exploit it. Besides the way we are going to do this will keep our consciousness separate.” Sweetie Belle replied with a smile and hopped out of Rarity arms much to her dismay.
“That way if we ever need to split again we can at will.” Sweetie Belle said with a smile.
“So let me get this strait. Y'all are gonna combine your bodies and memories into one so you can use magic but keep them separate?” Applejack said trying to make sense of this.
“It's a bit more complicated than that. Don't worry me and Pinkie Pie are two halves of a master magic user. We both know what we are doing don't we?” Sweetie Belle said with a smile looking at Pinkie Pie.
“Yeah..but I have a condition.” Pinkie Pie said after a moment.
“Don't worry. You form will the dominate one. Besides your form is my original form anyways minus the frizzy hair and plus it's stronger than this one.” Sweetie Belle said with a smile.
“Okey, Dokey! Pinkie Pie replied with a smile.
Pinkie Pie and Sweetie Belle locked their front Hooves together and began to concentrate all the while Applejack and Rainbow Dash looked on nervously along with the others.
Pinkie Pie and Sweetie Belle began to glow brightly until they both became surrounded by a blinding bright light. At this moment a surge of magic erupted a crossed the room causing Applejack to flinch and grab Rainbow Dash's hoof with her left hoof.
The two blinding lights slowly began to merge into one blinding light which grew more brightly than the last two and the ponies had to cover their eyes from it. With one final surge of magic that sent a shock wave through the room the blinding light began to fade revealing Pinkie Pie except a few things were different about her as the light faded.
The most obvious was the white horn on her forehead. The second was the fact her hair was not frizzed out at all, grew in length, and had a bright white streak through her hair. The last and final thing that everypony noticed was her facial expression as she slowly opened her eyes was not that of the normally goofy and giggly they all knew but a more serious one that still held those features however.
When the light finally completely faded she gave a soft sigh. “Wowie! What a rush!” Pinkie Pie suddenly blurted out however her voice had also changed it seemed to be a cross between Sweetie Belle's and Pinkie Pie's but it seemed as if Pinkie Pie's voice was a little more dominate than Sweetie Belle's even though you could hear her tone in Pinkie Pie's voice.
“This is going to take some getting used to...” Rarity replied putting a hoof on her forehead.
Pinkie Pie began to stretch and flex her legs. “Wowie. Your not the only one who's gonna have to get used to this. It's been quite awhile since I had my original form back.” Pinkie Pie replied.
“So what should we call y'all now?” Applejack asked curiously.
“Either name will do. My old name for this form is pretty much useless now that we share the same body.” Pinkie Pie replied with a smile.
It was at this Point Applejack realized she was holding Rainbow Dash's Hoof and suddenly yanked away with a deep blush while Rainbow Dash sported the same blush unknown to everypony else.
“So you two can separate at will?” Rarity said asked curiously.
At this Pinkie Pie glowed brightly for a moment and Sweetie Belle appeared next to her while Pinkie Pie regained her old appearance. “Yep! And what's more is we can split and join on the flick of a dime now, but we have to be close to each other in order to join. And well we also can't use magic as well like this either.” Sweetie Belle said with a smile, ran over to Rarity, and gave her a hug. “See sis? I told you that you wouldn't lose me!” Sweetie Belle said with a smile.
“Thanks goodness...” Rarity said overjoyed as a silent tear streaked down her left cheek.
“What the hell is that ruckus down there?” A voice boomed from within the hall.
“Uh-oh!” Sweetie Belle said, jumped out of Rarity's arms and over to Pinkie Pie and in a Flash of light returned their combined form. “Now you're gonna see why I call myself a master spell caster.” Pinkie Pie said with a smirk.
“Hey, look at this! The door is open!” Another voice shouted which all the Ponies knew who's voice that was.
Trixie suddenly appeared in the doorway to the cell and looked completely stupefied for a few moments before she shook her head.
“How the hell did you get loose?! These cell walls are made of magic absorbing material. And who the hell is this?” Trixie exclaimed looking at Pinkie Pie.
“Oh come on silly. You don't recognize me?” Pinkie Pie said with a smile and a giggle.
“Pinkie Pie? That's impossible! You're not a unicorn!” Trixie replied with a look of disbelief.
“Oh I always have been. I just kept it hidden till now. Now if you could let us through that would be super duper great!” Pinkie Pie said with a giggle to follow it up.
“Sorry. But I can't allow that.” Trixie replied resuming her usual sneer and cocky smile. And her horn began to glow.
Pinkie Pie let out a sigh. “No choice then.” Pinkie Pie said closing her eyes the flashed them open with at which point a pink glow appeared along with a shock wave of magic that erupted from her blasting Trixie and the other guards that followed her into the wall and through it.
“Wow. Pinkie Pie. What the hell?!” Rainbow Dash blurted out shocked at her display of raw magical power that she didn't even have to concentrate to cast.
“I told you I was a master spell caster didn't I? Now lets get Twilight before we loose her.” Pinkie Pie said looking at the ceiling with a concerned expression on her face.
“Lose her? What'cha y'all talkin about?” Applejack asked with a worried look and tone to match it as everyone followed Pinkie Pie.
“I just hope i'm not too late...” Pinkie Pie thought to herself as they rushed up the stairs of the castle.
Meanwhile during the exact time this was happening Twilight was still trembling like crazy as Nightmare Moon explained things.
“Long ago me and you aunt Celestia warred for control of all of Equestia.” Nightmare Moon explained making sure to put an emphasis on the term “aunt” as she said it.
“I was pregnant with you when the war began so I could not take part yet but once you were born I sent you to two trusted ponies whom had severed me well in the past. However I would not see you again afterwords as Celestia sealed me away within the moon as well as my memories of you and the war using those damned elements of harmony which were your friends might I add. The only thing I knew was that I had been betrayed by my sister and I wanted revenge.” Nightmare Moon said pacing back forth waiting for all of this to reach Twilight then continued.
“It was you who broke the spell that sealed my memories...” Nightmare Moon said trailing off at which point Twilight stopped trembling and looked up.
“M-m-me?” Twilight replied her voice breaking as she spoke.
“Yes. It was your magic that broke Celestia's spell over me. Shortly after that my memories began to return to me...however at the time you saw me...only the ones of the good times I had with my sister were fresh in my mind. So you see. It wasn't an act. But the longer I remained at my sister's side the more my memories returned and soon I realized that my sister was simply trying to act as if the war never happened. But I wouldn't allow it!” Nightmare Moon exclaimed.
“I wasn't about to let the thousands of loyal subjects I lost because of her be for nothing! So I waited for the right time and it was her turn to be sealed within the moon but I didn't use the elements of harmony to do it. My magic was simply that much greater than hers. She required help to seal me away but I did not need any for I am superior to her.” Nightmare Moon said with a prideful glance.
Twilight suddenly blurted out laughing much to Nightmare Moons annoyance. “What a load of shit! You're not superior to her....” Twilight said as she began to float up. “You're just another bitch with an ego trip. And were both going to die here.....mother!” Twilight exclaimed putting an emphasis on the word “mother” as the device around her horn literally began to fizzle and turned to scrap metal and twilight was surrounded by a aura of dark magic as she began to float up into the air.
“Where the hell do you think you got that power from? Me! And if you think you can kill me you've got another thing coming! So come my daughter! It's time for you're long over due spanking!” Nightmare Moon said as dark magic began to surround her as well.
At this exact moment Pinkie Pie,Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash came running into the room.
“Whoa nelly! She's going ballistic again!” Applejack exclaimed.
“No..it's worse than that....she's in full control this time.” Pinkie pie said looking at the two as the dark magic surrounding them surged and spouted mini-charges of magical energy.
“How's that bad?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“It means she's embraced her darky dark nature and is planning on killing herself and Nightmare Moon in one big boomy boom of a explosion. I've gotta stop her before she goes all explody!” Pinkie Pie shouted charging forward.
“You killed Spike! He was like a brother!” Twilight's voice boomed filled with rage.
“He was holding you back!” Nightmare Moon's voice boomed back.
At this remark Twilight let out a raging scream as the dark magic around her began to fissure in different places much to everypony's horror including Nightmare Moon who had finally realized what she was about to do. “You can't! If you keep that up you'll destroy Canterlot and everypony in it!” Nightmare Moon exclaimed in a panicked tone.
However Twilight wasn't listening as she continued to scream at the top of her lungs as the fissures around her grew deeper and more fierce.
Suddenly the dark aura of magic that surrounded Twilight was surrounded by a pink aura of magic which caused Nightmare Moon's glance to jolt in the direction of where it was coming from. “You! Don't interfere!” Nightmare Moon's voice boomed.
“Do you want me to save you're daughter's life or not?!” Pinkie Pie shouted concentrating with all her might to calm the dark magic that surrounded Twilight which continued to fissure fiercely.
This statement earned shocked gasps from everypony. “Wait a cotton pickin minuet! Nightmare Moon is Twilight's mama?!” Applejack exclaimed in both shock and confusion.
“Less talky, more concentratey!” Pinkie Pie replied concentrating with all her might to calm the magic around Twilight.
Everypony including Nightmare Moon simply watched in suspense as Pinkie Pie's horn glowed brightly with sparks of magic flying from her horn as she concentrated with all her might.
For awhile it seemed as if she wasn't making any progress at all but soon it became noticeable that she was in fact making progress to calm the magic around Twilight as she suddenly stopped screaming and looked down at Pinkie Pie and the others though her eyes still glowed darkly her facial expression changed from one of rage to calm yet fearful expression.
The dark magic around Twilight and the glow in her eyes began to fade simultaneously as she slowly began to float to the ground.
Once on the ground Pinkie Pie stopped concentrating her magic around Twilight. “Quick everypony get close to me!” Pinkie Pie shouted at which point Rarity, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy ran over to Pinkie Pie and with a flash of magic all six ponies disappeared from the room.
Trixie then stepped from behind the shadows looking bruised but fine. “why did you let them go?” She asked as Nightmare Moon's hooves touched the ground and the magic around her dissipate.
“What makes you think I let them go?” Nightmare Moon asked flashing a glare at Trixie who didn't flinch.
“You had plenty of time when Twilight's hooves hit the ground to cast a spell on them.” Trixie said with a grin.
“So you were watching the entire time then? Hmph! That pink pony saved my daughter. It was the least I could do...Besides now that I have all of Equestia under my hoof, they won't get far. And Trixie...” Nightmare Moon replied taking a few steps away.
Suddenly Trixie found herself lifted in the air and slammed against the wall. “Don't let me catch you spying on me from the shadows ever again...are we clear?” Nightmare Moon said calmly.
“Crystal, your highness.” Trixie said in a pained tone.
“Good. Make preparations to send out the troops again. And this time kill all of them except Twilight.” Nightmare Moon said still not looking at Trixie and disappearing in a swirl of dark clouds.
At this point the magic holding Trixie against the wall disappeared and she fell to the ground. “This kingdom won't be under you're rule for much longer Luna......” Trixie said lifting her head with a great deal of effort due to being in a weakened state.
Meanwhile a few miles just short of Ponyville Twilight and the others appeared in a flash of pink magic.
Twilight stood up wearily and shook her head only to get nearly dog-piled by everypony.
“You had us worried sick about y'all!” Applejack said she hugged her.
“Don't you pull a lame stunt like that ever again!” Rainbow Dash chimed in hugging her as well.
“Are you okay? I was ever so worried about you.” Fluttershy said with a smile tears swelling in her eyes.
“Goodness darling! Don't ever do that again! You had me so worried about you I think I’ve got split ends in my mane!” Rarity exclaimed hugging her also.
“I don't like it when you're all darky and spooky like that! Don't do that ever again!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed hugging her as well.
“Sorry I worried you guys to death but if you don't stop you're going to hug me to death!” Twilight exclaimed with a smile at which point everypony stopped hugging her and sat on her rump.
Twilight let out a long sigh and looked at all her friends with a smile on her face. “Thanks guys...if you hadn't stopped me I would have done something I would not lived to regret.” Twilight said after a few moments.
“Thank Pinkie Pie! Her magic is what calmed that freaky magic around you.” Rarity replied at which point Twilight turned to look at Pinkie Pie.
“Pinkie Pie, a unicorn? Since when?!” Twilight asked shocked and slack-jawed at the sight of Pinkie Pie's horn and her different looks.
At this Pinkie Pie stood up, took a few steps back and turned to face everypony. “It should make it easier if I explain like this.” Pinkie Pie said and with a flash of light Sweetie Belle stood next to Pinkie Pie and Pinkie Pie had her old appearance back once again.
“Sweetie Belle?! What the heck?!” Twilight exclaimed feeling more confused now more than ever.
Pinkie Pie and Sweetie Belle began to take turns explaining how they became separate and how they were joined back into one form and by the time they were finished explaining Twilight looked as if she was simply in face of shock seemingly frozen in place.
“I think we broke her. Hehe!” Pinkie Pie said with a giggle earning a laugh from Sweetie Belle.
“Wow...this is going to take some getting used to...” Twilight said after a few moments putting a hoof on her forehead.
“That's what Rarity said!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed hopping around Twilight.
“Well. I reckon it's time we get that book and get our real memories back. What y'all think?” Applejack said after a few moments of silence.
“Agreed.” Sweetie Belle and Pinkie Pie said simultaneously.
With that the ponies began to head into Ponyville unaware of the dangers that await them...
Memories of a life long forgotten part 1
MEMORIES OF A LIFE LONG FORGOTTEN...(PART 1)
As the Ponies made their way back to Ponyville the first thing they noticed when it came in view is that it wasn't in flames which struck them all as odd.
“What's going on here? Ponyville looks like it did just before Nightmare Moon's forces attacked.” Twilight remarked looking around as the ponies of Ponyville walked around.
“I know...it's just plain creepy.” Applejack said looking around filled with a sense of unease.
“What in the heck is going on here?” Rainbow Dash asked aloud.
“I don't know...what do you think of this Pinkie Pie?” Twilight asked curiously. “Pinkie Pie?” Twilight asked and looked to her side and noticed she was suddenly alone. “Girls? Where did you go?” Twilight asked looking around.
“Twilight? Applejack? Where in the heck you guys go?” Rainbow Dash asked noticing she was alone as well.
“Twi? Dashy? Where in tarnation did you ponies go?!” Applejack asked in a scared tone finding herself alone.
Meanwhile Twilight was also making her way to her home in hopes of finding the other ponies there when she heard a voice that shook her down to her core.
“Twilight! Hey! Where have you been?” Spike shouted as he ran up to her.
Twilight's eyes widened”Sp-Spike?” Twilight said her voice cracking.
“Of course it's me Twilight. Wow. What happened to you?” Spike remarked as Twilight's eyes began to fill with tears.
“Come on Twilight we need to get the library. You've got a ton of things to tell Princess Celestia I bet!” Spike exclaimed running back towards their home.
“Of course I do!” Twilight exclaimed with a teary smile and followed him.
Meanwhile Applejack was making her way to library when she heard a voice. “Hey! Applejack!” Applebloom's voice called as she came into view.
“Applebloom?! You're okay! Y'all had me worried sick about ya!” Applejack shouted as she ran over to her sister.
“What? It's applebuckin season already?!” Applejack replied looking shocked.
“Of course silly! Now come on! Granny Smith and Big Mac are waitin on us!” Applebloom replied and began to run in the direction of Apple Acres.
“Wait for me now!” Applejack called out with a smile and began to follow her sister.
Meanwhile Rarity also found herself suddenly alone.
“Goodness. Where did everypony go?” Rarity replied looking confused and worried.
“There you are! I Photo Finish have been looking all over for you! Now we can make you a star that will shine all over Equestia!” Photo Finish said as she walked up to Rarity.
“What?! Me?! Now?!” Rarity exclaimed shocked and excited all at once.
“Yes, you! Now come! There is no time to lose!” Photo Finish said and began to shove Rarity in the direction of her home.
“But—but there's this book you see. And I simply must find it.” Rarity tried explaining but Photo Finish kept on pushing her.
“That can wait! I Photo Finish am going to make you a star!” Photo Finish replied.
Meanwhile Rainbow Dash was flying all over Ponyville. “Come on! Where did you guys go?!” Rainbow dash exclaimed looking all over when suddenly she stopped at who was flying in front of her. It was the Wonder Bolts.
“Hey! Rainbow Dash! We've been looking all over for you!” Soarin exclaimed.
“Me? Why?” Rainbow Dash asked curiously.
“To join us of course.” Spitfire replied.
At this Rainbow Dash put both front hooves over her mouth filled with joy and excitement. “Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh!” Rainbow Dash repeated over and over for about ten seconds very quickly.
“Come on! Lets get you to the Wonder Bolt headquarters so we can get you an official uniform!” Soarin exclaimed and flew off followed by the other Wonder Bolts.
“All right!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed and flew after them. “I'm.....a Wonder Bolt!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed followed by a high pitched squeal of delight.
“Oh goodness me. How could I have lost them? Fluttershy you're such an airhead!” Fluttershy said aloud looking around for them having suddenly become alone herself until she saw a small puppy laying on the ground, stopped suddenly, and rushed to it's side.
“Oh dear me! You look terrible! Come on little one. Lets take you to my home and we'll get you all better!” Fluttershy said with a smile, lifted the injured puppy up, and flew off to her house.
“Sweetie Belle?! Where did you go?” Pinkie Pie asked aloud looking around.
“There you are!” Rainbow Dash's voice called out.
“Hey! Have you seen Sweetie Belle and the others Rainbow?” Pinkie Pie replied in a worried tone.
“Yeah! They are all waiting for us at sugarcube corner. We're having a party there and we know it wouldn't be a party without you Pinkie Pie.” Rainbow Dash said with a smile.
“Oh! You're right! It wouldn't be a party with me! Lets go!” Pinkie Pie said with a smile and followed rainbow Dash to the sugarcube corner store.
“Pinkie pie?! Pinkie? Can you hear me?!” Sweetie Belle shouted out looking around frantically. “This isn't good!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed looking around for everyone. Sweetie Belle then closed her eyes and began to concentrate. “Pinkie Pie...can you hear my thoughts?” Sweetie Belle thought to herself but after a few moments opened them. “A powerful dark magic is at work here. Especially if it can block the magical connection me and Pinkie Pie have, I just hope the others are okay...” Sweetie Belle said aloud in a whisper. I've got to find a way to destroy this illusion....” Sweetie Belle thought to herself and began to run in the direction of Twilight's house which was also the town library when suddenly two ponies she knew ran into view.
“Hey, Sweetie Belle!” Scootaloo exclaimed with a smile.
“Hey, there y'all are! We've been looking all over for you! We are going to go on a adventure to find our cutie marks and I this time we won't stop till we have them!” Applebloom exclaimed with a smile.
“Sorry, I don't have time right now guys.” Sweetie Belle replied knowing that they were simply part of the illusion but didn't want to make it known that she was aware of this.
“Don't have time? We always have time!” Scootaloo exclaimed.
“We're the cutie mark crusaders!” Scootaloo and Applebloom shouted simultaneously.
Sweetie Belle let out a sigh. “I sure do miss being that carefree. Maybe once all this over I can hang with the real Scootaloo and Applebloom when this is over.” Sweetie Belle said aloud without realizing it.
“The real ones?” Scootaloo replied confused.
“What y'all talkin about Sweetie Belle.” Applebloom chimed in.
“There's no avoiding it now. Whoever is casting this spell knows I am aware that this is an illusion now. They will probably try to off me quickly now.” Sweetie Belle thought to herself.
“Drop the act! And show me your true forms you doppelgangers!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed and took a fighting stance. “I don't know how much I can do in this form but I’ll do my best!” Sweetie Belle thought to herself.
“Well heck.” Scootaloo said looking upset and turned to look at Applebloom.
“Looks like this one is stronger than we thought. She is able to resist the effects of the spell.” Applebloom said looking at Scootaloo.
“No point in keeping the act up I guess.” Scootaloo replied and they both turned to face Sweetie Belle both wearing malicious grins on their faces.
Suddenly the nice and peaceful scenery that surrounded them faded revealing the torn and destroyed town known as Ponyville. Scootaloo and Applebloom's forms also changed revealing them to be dark armored ponies.
Without warning both ponies lunged at Sweetie Belle however she jumped out of the way just in time avoiding them, turned, and ran away from them. “Looks like she's fast too.” One dark armored pony said to the other.
“I've got to find Pinkie Pie!” Sweetie Belle thought to herself dramatically as she ran as fast as her hooves would carry her avoiding each and every attack by the dark armored ponies.
Sweetie Belle frantically dodged attack after attack from the dark armored ponies and suddenly found herself at just outside of Twilight's house and heard her voice from within.
Meanwhile Twilight was busy filling out a bunch of letters as Spike sent each one out.
“Wow...this is a lot of letters to fill out. “ Twilight said with a smile as she used her horn to magically make a quill fill out the letters.
“Twilight! Help me!!!!” Sweetie Belle's voice came from no where. It was very faint in fact she could barely hear it but she did none-the-less.
“Sweetie Belle?” Twilight said aloud curiously, stopped writing and looked out her window but saw nothing except the peaceful scenery of Ponyville and Ponies walking back and forth through it.
“What is it Twilight?” Spike Asked curiously.
“I could have swore I heard Sweetie Belle's voice just now.” Twilight replied looking out her window still.
“I didn't hear anything. Don't you think you should get back to filling out those letters to Princess Celestia?” Spike replied.
“I suppose you're right.” Twilight replied and began to fill out the letters again.
“Twilight! Can't you hear me?! You're under a spell! Fight it!” Sweetie Belle's voice came from no where once again except it was a little louder this time causing her to stop writing once again and look out her window.
“What is it now?” Spike asked annoyed.
“I know I heard Sweetie Belle's voice just now. But it doesn't make sense. She's not outside yet I could hear her as if she was right here!” Twilight exclaimed confused standing right in front of her window now looking out of it.
Meanwhile outside Sweetie Belle was looking directly at Twilight through her window just before she dodged another jab from dark armored ponies. “She can't see me but I know she heard me! I just have to keep trying!” Sweetie Belle thought to herself.
“I don't get it. Why am I hearing Sweetie Belle's voice?” Twilight asked sounding very confused.
“Who cares! Just get to writing those damned letters already! ” Spike said in a rude tone. “Erm...i mean...maybe she's just playing with her friends?” Spike said moments later in his usual tone.
“Fight the spell, Twilight!” Sweetie Belle's voice rang out again even louder this time.
“That was rather rude of you Spike...” Twilight remarked turning around to face spike with inquiring look and began to walk towards him. “In fact...the Spike I know would never say something like that.” Twilight said as her horn began to glow. “Who are you?! Tell me!” Twilight exclaimed barreling down on Spike.
“Wh-what are you talking about Twilight? It's me.. Spike. You're number one assistant!” Spike replied looking a little scared now.
“Don't make me repeat myself....” Twilight replied as her horn glowed even more brightly.
Spike suddenly shoved Twilight back and ran to door screaming out in terror however Twilight appeared in front of him in a flash of magic. “Who are you?!” Twilight exclaimed in a demanding tone.
“Please don't kill me! I was only following orders!” Spike shouted out. Suddenly the Illusion around Twilight faded away revealing the real library and Spike suddenly turned into a quivering dark armored solider pony shaking in fear.
“Twilight! Help!” Sweetie Belle's voice rang out clear as day now at which point Twilight rushed to her door swung it open with her magic and bucked one dark armored pony who was mere inches away from stabbing Sweetie Belle who lay on the ground at that exact moment eyes wide open in terror of her impending doom.
“Are you okay Sweetie Belle?” Twilight asked with her flank facing her as she stood in front of her.
“I'm fine now that you're here Twilight! We have to help the others! They are trapped in the same spell that you were!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed.
“How come you were unaffected?” Twilight asked curiously as the dark armored ponies paced back and forth seemingly looking for an opening.
“This is me we are talking about Twilight. The words, master magic user mean anything? Hello! I can spot a spell from a mile away. But my other half isn't as attuned as I am.” Sweetie Belle stated making sure to put a note of annoyance in her voice when she spoke of her “other half”.
Twilight would have giggled at this if she weren't faced with two dark armored ponies that could attack her the moment she let her guard down.
“Twilight! Behind you!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed in a frantic tone causing Twilight to whirl around, see the dark armored pony lunging at her sharpened hoof bared, and used her magic on impulse to put up a magic wall which the dark armored pony hit with a loud “clang!”
“Wow, when did you learn that spell Twilight?!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed having never seen her use it before.
“I have my dear mommy to thank for this spell. While she was going on about me and her's past I studied how she executed it. To be honest I wasn't sure I could pull it off. It was my first time casting it after all.” Twilight replied with a sheepish smile.
“So in other words.. you gambled on whether or not you could properly cast a spell you only saw once and had no idea if you could pull off that if you failed to cast would have resulted in you being killed?” Sweetie Belle replied in an affirmative yet shocked tone.
“Pretty much.” Twilight replied resulting in a facehoof and a groan from Sweetie Belle.
Twilight turned to face the other two dark armored ponies who were now charging at her and used her magic to knock one to the side unconscious and held the other mid-air before ejecting it into the air at such a speed it was out of sight in a matter of moments. She then turned to the dark armored pony who was just recovering from hitting it's face flat on her magical wall.
“Now...you're going to tell me...” Twilight trailed off making a glance up the library as memories of Spike and her came to mind then looked back to the dark armored pony. “Who is doing this?!” Twilight exclaimed as tears swelled in her eyes yet her facial expression remained pissed as the walked up the dark armored pony.
“I-I-I won't talk!” The dark armored pony stuttered clearly scared out of his wits but attempting to remain brave.
Twilight's eyes began to glow darkly as more memories of her and spike came to mind and the feeling of happiness she had that was suddenly lost when she realized that it was all an illusion and spike was dead.
“Twilight! Don't let your emotions consume you! You of all ponies should know that a unicorns magic is fueled by three things. Our thoughts, memories, and emotions! And we must always keep those in balance! If we let one thought, memory, or emotion consume us it causes us to lose control of our magic!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed realizing that Twilight was beginning to lose control again.
At this remark Twilight suddenly shook her head quickly and then looked at Sweetie Belle and smiled despite the fact tears were still in her eyes. “Thanks Sweetie Belle.” Twilight said at which point the dark armored pony ran before Twilight could stop him. With the immediate threat gone her legs gave way and she began to sob loudly.
Sweetie Belle walked over to her and put a hoof on her shoulder as she sobbed. “I wish you would have left me alone! I was happy again! Spike was alive!” Twilight shouted between sobs.
“Twilight, it was an illusion. They might have been playing their part for now but they would have ended up killing you.” Sweetie Belle replied in a soft comforting tone to the best of her ability.
“I don't care! I was happy! I would have rather died happy than go another day without him!” Twilight replied between sobs in an angry voice.
“Spike's death is torturing her. And what's worse is she's blaming herself for his death.” Sweetie Belle thought to herself doing her best to comfort Twilight. “Twilight....” Was all Sweetie Belle could say as she rubbed her shoulder with her hoof to comfort her.
Twilight then spoke words between sobs that Sweetie Belle couldn't quite understand until she repeated them again. “I'm sorry....” Twilight said between sobs.
“It's okay. I know you didn't mean a word of it.” Sweetie Belle replied with a smile.
“I miss him so much...” Twilight replied her sobs though they were not as loud now.
“I know you do. But we have to help the others.” Sweetie Belle replied at which point Twilight stood on all fours shakily.
“You're right...” Twilight replied wiping her face with her right hoof giving a sniff and a slight cough.
Moments later Twilight and Sweetie Belle were running side by side. “My theory on how this spell works is it puts it's victim in a state of false security that plays off their memories to do this.” Sweetie Belle stated as they ran towards what was left of Apple Acres.
“Like me with seeing Spike alive?” Twilight replied as they drew nearer.
“Exactly. What kind of illusion would put Applejack in that type of state?” Sweetie Belle asked.
“I don't know really. I mean all she really does here on the farm is.......” Twilight trailed off and gave a sudden gasp.
“What is it?” Sweetie Belle replied.
“I know where Applejack is! Follow me!” Twilight exclaimed taking a sharp left turn away from the farm to the apple orchards.
Sure enough twilight's hunch was correct as they found Applejack kicking dead trees in the fields of the apple orchards. “Applejack! Snap out of it!” Twilight exclaimed running up her only to run into an invisible wall that rippled when she hit it.
“What the-?” Twilight said in a confused manner as she placed a hoof on the wall that rippled once again.
Sweetie Belle put a hoof on the wall also,closed her eyes and after a few moments opened them. “It's barrier put in place to keep those not apart of the illusion out. The same one that was around your house i'll bet too which means she can't see us and possibly can't hear us either.” Sweetie Belle said in a matter of fact tone.
“Then i'll just have to destroy it!” Twilight exclaimed as her horn began to glow.
“Wait! You can't!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed causing Twilight to stop concentrating and look at Sweetie Belle with a questioning look.
“Why not?” Twilight asked confused.
“A spell like this is more than a simple illusion. Right now this spell is directly tied to Applejack's mind in order to produce an illusion realistic enough to be believable. If we just up and destroy it we could possibly destroy Applejack's mind too.” Sweetie Belle explained.
“So what the hell are we supposed to do? Just sit back and watch Applejack get killed?!” Twilight exclaimed in a questioning manner.
“She has to break free of the Illusion on her own. If she can hear us we can help somewhat but this barrier seems stronger than the one around your house. I'll bet who ever is casting these spells increased their strength having realized two of us broke free of it. If only Pinkie Pie was here, we could combine forms and I could possible weaken it like I did the magic around you back in Canterlot. At least then our voices could get through.” Sweetie Belle said as she looked on.
“Tell me how to do it.” Twilight said suddenly.
“What? The spell that weakened the magic around you? That's highly advanced magic Twilight. I have no doubt you're a very talented unicorn but you haven't come far enough to be able to perform such a spell.” Sweetie Belle replied.
“Listen here young filly! We don't have time for this master magic nonsense! Now tell me how to do it or i'll bend you over my knee and spank your flank!” Twilight exclaimed causing sweetie Belle to back away despite the fact she was much older than a filly.
“Y-you wouldn't dare!” Sweetie Belle stuttered backing away.
“Oh, I would!” Twilight retorted with a sinister grin and a twinkle in her eyes.
Meanwhile Applejack was still bucking trees.
“Wow. This is hard work! I wonder where Twilight and the others are though? It's not like them to up and run off like that.” Applejack said bucking a tree causing apples to fall from it into baskets.
“I don't know sis. But this trees ain't gonna buck themselves.” Applebloom replied.
“Well i'm buckin as fast as I can. Where is Big mac? I bet the lazy pony is loafin around at the farm.” Applejack said in an annoyed tone.
Meanwhile shortly after this conversation between Applebloom and Applejack Sweetie Belle was rubbing her flank teary eyed while Twilight stood preparing to cast the spell she “convinced” Sweetie Belle to explain to her how to perform.
“I can't believe you actually spanked me! I have you know I’m the same age as you!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed in a pouty tone.
“Consider it a long over due set of birthday spankings then.” Twilight replied with a smirk as she began to concentrate to cast the spell.
Twilight's horn began to glow brightly as a wave of purple magic began to emit from the tip of her horn and soon blanketed over the barrier of the illusion.
“Remember Twilight you have to coax the spell not force it.” Sweetie Belle said after a few moments finally able to stop rubbing her flank even though it was still sore.
“Less talky, more concentratey!” Twilight replied.
“Hey! That's what I said!” Sweetie Belle replied with a smirk.(Play Angel of Darkness now)
“Wow. Sweetie Belle wasn't kidding! This spell is hard!” Twilight thought to herself as she concentrated with all her might. “Maybe she was right....maybe I can't do it.” Twilight thought to herself as sparks of magic began to spout from her horn. “No! I CAN do this! I have to! I must in order to save Applejack!” Twilight thought to herself after a few moments reenforcing her confidence in herself.
“I can't believe it...she's never even attempted such an spell before and she's actually doing it on her first try.” Sweetie Belle thought to herself as she looked on amazed at Twilight then back to the spell she was casting. “No wonder Princess Celestia has such an interest in her. She has such raw magical talent. She may even surpass me when she finally masters it.” Sweetie Belle thought to herself as she continue to look on in awe.
Twilight began to cry out as her horn began to spout out even more sparks.”Hang on Applejack! We're coming! I won't let anyone else die on me!” Twilight thought to herself as memories of Spike came to mind. “I....will.....protect....everyone.....no....matter.....WHAT!” Twilight thought to herself at which point during the last word of her thoughts her eyes shot open and glowed with a bright purple magic.
“No...way...she's not only calming it...she's actually dispelling it in such a way that it won't harm Applejack.....Amazing!” Sweetie Belle thought to herself completely in shock and awe as the spell around Applejack began to dissipate slowly.
Meanwhile Applejack was bucking another tree when suddenly a ripple in the world around her caught her attention.
“What in tarnation was that?!” Applejack exclaimed confused.
Applebloom however at the moment was looking scared. “It can't be... no one can break Trixie's spells...” Applebloom said in a whisper unheard by Applejack.
Yet another ripple shook through the world around Applejack and for a moment Applejack saw dead trees around her and in the next the apple orchard she knew. “What in the hay is going on here Applebloom?” Applejack asked looking back at Applebloom who was quivering in fear.
“Applebloom?” Applejack asked curiously wondering why her younger sister was looking so scared.
“Trixie is going to be so mad it me!” Applebloom shouted out suddenly followed by a high pitched scream before she disappeared.
Moments later one final ripple shook through the world around Applejack and this time the trees remained dead. Applejack looked around herself confused as hell until she saw Sweetie Belle and Twilight who's horn was beginning to dim.
“Twilight? Sweetie Belle? What in the hay is going on here?!” Applejack asked running over to the two ponies.
Twilight's legs gave way and she fell to her chest, legs sprawled out huffing and puffing.
“You were trapped in an illusion. And Twilight broke the spell around you.” Sweetie Belle replied with a smile.
“Really? Hayseed! I can't believe I fell for such a danged illusion.” Applejack said hitting the ground with hoof in frustration.
“Of course the spell I explained to Twilight was merely supposed to weaken it so we could reach you, however she took it to the next level and completely dispelled it. I was shocked that she could do such a thing and I didn't even explain to her how to do it either. I didn't think she could handle it much less casting the spell to weaken the illusion around you to begin with.” Sweetie Belle said and put a hoof on Twilight's shoulder. “Well done, Twilight you exceeded even my expectations with that performance!” Sweetie Belle said with a prideful smile.
Twilight meanwhile was still huffing and puffing clearly unable to reply to these comments. “That....was....hard!” Twilight finally managed to say between huffs and puffs.
“That was a class A-plus spell you just finished casting there. What do you expect it to be? Easy?” Sweetie Belle replied with a giggle.
“I don't think I could cast that spell again for awhile...” Twilight said after a few moments getting to her hooves still huffing an puffing but not as heavily now.
“I would assume not. Class A-plus spells are exhausting even for master magic users such as myself.” Sweetie Belle replied.
“I still can't believe I fell for such a cotton pickin lie though.” Applejack said after a few moments.
“Don't blame yourself Applejack. I fell for the same kind.” Twilight replied with a smile.
“Really? What illusion did you get trapped in? A huge library with every single book you ever wanted?” Applejack replied in a joking manner.
“I saw Spike alive....” Twilight replied in a saddened tone causing Applejack to immediately regret joking about what kind of spell Twilight was trapped in.
“Oh, sugarcube...I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to, I mean....Hayseed!” Applejack replied stumbling over her words and ended in cursing herself for causing Twilight to recall it.
“It's alright. Really it is. After all it was just an illusion. Not like it was real or anything.” Twilight said with a smile that Applejack knew was totally fake but she didn't want to press the matter any farther as they began to walk out of the Apple orchards and past the farm.
“So where are the others? Y'all have any good ideas where to look?” Applejack asked changing the subject.
“Well if I know Pinkie Pie, which I do since she's my other half. She's most likely trapped in an illusion over at sugarcube corner.” Sweetie Belle replied.
“Sugarcube corner, it is then.” Twilight chimed in and they all headed over in that direction.
Once there, they once again ran into the same barrier that surrounded Applejack just short of the door to Sugarcube corner.
“Do you think you can reach her?” Twilight asked looking at Sweetie Belle who now had her eyes closed concentrating and moments later opened them.
“It's no good. Even at this close a range the barrier is preventing any communication between our joined consciousness when I try to connect to her mind.” Sweetie Belle replied.
“Well Hayseed! How in the hay are we supposed to get her out of this here illusion?” Applejack replied stomping a hoof on the ground in frustration.
Meanwhile Pinkie Pie was hopping around her friends having the time of her life when she suddenly stopped. “That's funny...” Pinkie Pie remarked looking to the store door which had a window in it.
“What's funny Pinkie Pie? Come on let us in on the joke!” Rainbow Dash said with a smile.
“Well. I always know when Sweetie Belle is near by because of our connection but for some reason even though Sweetie Belle is in the room I’m getting that twitchy twitch feeling I get when she's near by but I can't see her. But it's faint. I can barely feel it.” Pinkie Pie explained.
“Magical connection? What in the hay you talkin about there Pinkie Pie?” Applejack asked in a confused tone.
“What a second... you all should know!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed. Looking at all her friends suspiciously.
“Come on Pinkie Pie. What are you talking about?” Sweetie Belle said in a sweet tone.
At this remark Pinkie Pie suddenly knew these weren't her real friends. “You guys aren't my friends! You all are some kind of magicky thingy meant to confuse me! And boy you sure did! But I’m not confused anymore!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed backing away from everyone in the room. (Play Bring me to Life now)
“Oh come on now Pinkie Pie. You honestly think we are some kind of trick meant to make you think you're somewhere you're not?” Twilight said with a smile walking up to Pinkie Pie.
“That's exactly what I think!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed,closed her eyes and began to concentrate with all her might. “Come on Sweetie Belle! Help me break this tricky trick!” Pinkie Pie thought to herself hoping she was getting through.
Meanwhile outside Sweetie Belle suddenly let out a gasp.
“What is it?” Twilight asked curiously.
“It's Pinkie Pie! She's trying to break through the illusion to connect with me! She knows it's a fake!” Sweetie Belle replied joyfully.
“You getting this close to her must have sent off her senses that she gets when you two are near each other but can't see each other!” Twilight exclaimed with a smile.
“Exactly, but she needs my help to break the illusion I think.” Sweetie Belle replied.
“Well what y'all waitin for? An invitation? Get to connectin with her!” Applejack chimed with filled with excitement at which point Sweetie Belle gave a nod, closed her eyes, and began to concentrate with all her might as well.
Meanwhile Pinkie Pie continued to concentrate with all her might.
“Pinkie Pie, You're so random!” Rainbow Dash remarked with a giggle.
“Come now sugarcube. Lets continue with the party and we can't do it without y'all!” Applejack said with a smile and began to walk over to her but stopped suddenly at the sight of Pinkie Pie's forehead beginning to twinkle and glow.
“What the heck?!” Twilight exclaimed in confusion. “Pinkie Pie, what in Celestia's name are you doing?!” Twilight asked looking shocked.
“Less talky, more concentratey!” Pinkie Pie replied as the glowing twinkle on her forehead grew brighter and brighter.
Meanwhile outside Sweetie Belle's horn was glowing brighter and brighter as magic began to spout from it in sparks. “Almost.....there.....” Sweetie Belle said in a strained voice.
“Come on Sweetie Belle...you can do it!” Twilight exclaimed cheering her on.
“Come on! Y'all almost got it! Keep it up!” Applejack chimed in.
Suddenly both Pinkie Pie's and Sweetie Belle's eyes shot open simultaneously glowing brightly with a pink magical light. “Illusion begone!” Sweetie Belle and Pinkie Pie shouted in unison at which point a shock wave of magic erupted in the middle of sugarcube corner and echoed outward stopping just short of Pinkie Pie inside and just short of Sweetie Belle just outside of the store.
All of Pinkie Pie's supposed friends in the sugar cube corner disappeared with the exception of one who's form soon changed to be a dark armored Pegasus pony.
The barrier around sugarcube corner suddenly disappeared which was Twilight and Applejack's cue to charge in as Twilight swung open the door to Sugarcube corner and Applejack lunged at the Dark Armored Pegasus pony who was still confused and performed a mid-air buck that knocked it against the wall stunned.
“Sweetie Belle!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed joyfully as Sweetie Belle ran into the store and gave her a loving hug.
“You pink lovable oaf! Why couldn't you tell it was an illusion?” Sweetie replied still hugging her as tears of joy flooded her eyes.
“I don't know. I couldn't tell it was a tricky trick until you got close to me.” Pinkie Pie replied hugging her as well.
“Don't you ever leave my side again! You got me?” Sweetie Belle exclaimed in an angry yet compassionate tone.
“Of course not! I won't fall for anymore magicky magic tricky tricks anymore!” Pinkie Pie replied smiling.
“Shouldn't y'all like-” “Shh! Whoever is casting this spell is able to hear us anywhere in ponyille where an illusion was in place. Wait until we get out of sugarcube corner.” Sweetie Belle said cutting Applejack off.
Once outside, everypony sat down. “Four down....only three to go...anyone have any clues where Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity could be?” Sweetie Belle asked curiously.
“Dashy loves to fly! I bet she's up the sky somewhere! Like right above us!” Pinkie Pie blurted out and began hopping around.
At this everypony looked up and sure enough they saw a bunch of dark clouds that looked completely out of place.
“How did you figure that out so fast?” Applejack asked in a shocked tone.
“It was eeeeee-zeeee!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed still hopping around extending the syllables of the word “easy” as she spoke them.
“She sensed the magic if the illusion above us, in other words.” Sweetie Belle remarked with an eye-roll.
“So how do we get up there? I don't think I could cast a spell strong enough to give us all wings.” Twilight said looking up.
“Hold up, I got an idea y'all!” Applejack said after a few moments and began to run off.
“Wait! Where are you going Applejack?!” Twilight shouted however Applejack was out of hearing distance before she could say those words.
Minuets passed however Applejack had not returned and after about fifteen minuets Twilight stood up.
“Jeepers, creepers! Look up Twilight!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed pointing a hoof to the sky.
Twilight looked up in the sky and gasped. “She's on a......hang-glider?!” Twilight exclaimed shocked.
“She can't walk on clouds! She'll fall right through when she lands!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed as Applejack was coming in for a landing.
“I got that!” Twilight exclaimed casting a spell quickly just before Applejack landed on the clouds allowing her to walk on them.
Meanwhile up in the sky Applejack had just landed and let out a sigh of relief. “Whew.. glad they saw me comin. I don't know what i'd done if Twilight hadn't cast that spell when she did.” Applejack thought looking at the barrier.
FLASHBACK(Play Can't let go by Mariah Carey now)
“What in the cotton picken hay has gotten into me? Why am I running off like some half brained hero for?” Applejack thought to herself as she continued to run to the farm.
“But even though i'm telling my legs to stop running this way and turn back...they won't listen.” Applejack said aloud looking down at her hooves for a moment then back up towards the farm.
It was at this point the memories of her and Rainbow Dash began to pour into her head. The fun they had at the running of the leaves...the hard times they shared...and even the times where their lives were on the line. Suddenly Applejack found herself running even faster if possible. “I don't get it...what in the hay's come over me?” Applejack thought to herself as she opened the door to the barn shed and saw her hang-glider and that it was still in great condition.
“Hang on, dashy! AJ's comin!” Applejack said with a wide smile then in the next moment shook her head. “Dashy? AJ? What the hay? Ugh...this damned pony apocalypse crap is getting to my head.” Applejack said with a facehoof, grabbed the hang-glider and began to drag over to the mountain range which only took her a few minuets as it was close by.
Applejack made a mad dash for the cliff,jumped, and began plummeting to the ground.
“Whooooaaaaa, nelly! Come on ya confounded contraption!” Applejack shouted pulling as hard as she could on the lever, found herself evening up, and took to the skies moments later. The feeling of the wind blowing through her mane, the crisp cold air hitting her face, and the sight of all of Ponyville under her hooves. This is what it must have felt like for Rainbow Dash every time she took to the skies.
She soon began to recall the rush of running along side of her, the happiness she felt....Soon the memories of her watching Rainbow Dash take the skies then began to flow through her mind.
Each and every time in her memories she would recall the feeling of longing she felt as she watched Rainbow Dash fly off. The memories of sudden sadness she felt each and every time Rainbow Dash opened her wings and took to the skies suddenly, as she could only watch from the ground....
“Dashy...why didn't you ever take me with you?” Applejack said quietly to herself then suddenly went wide eyed and shook her head. “Get a hold of yourself Applejack!” Applejack said aloud as she began to near the dark clouds. “Hayseed! I forgot I can't walk on clouds!” Applejack exclaimed as she neared them. She was about to pull away when suddenly she felt a tingling on her hoofs,looked down, and saw Twilight's horn glowing. “Nice one Twilight! Thanks!” Applejack said with a smile and landed on the clouds.
END FLASHBACK
“Now how In tarnation am I going to get through to her...” Applejack asked aloud as she put a hoof on the barrier as she watched Rainbow Dash.
Meanwhile Rainbow Dash was trying on different types of uniforms. “eh...needs to be twenty percent cooler.” She remarked wearing one outfit. “Ugh. This looks lame.” She remarked wearing another outfit.
About twenty outfits later Rainbow dash still didn't like a single one. “Maybe we could get Rarity to make me one. She's a pro at making outfits!” Rainbow Dash said after a few moments taking off the outfit.
“You can't!” Soarin exclaimed then cleared her throat. “I mean, we only use the best outfits. Someone like her could never make such a awesome outfit like ours.” Soarin said after a moment.
“I don't know about that. She makes some pretty awesome outfits like the one for the gala. That one was cool as hell.” Rainbow Dash replied taking note of her sudden rude tone but ignored it.
Meanwhile outside of the illusion Applejack was trying everything she knew to get through to her. “Come on Rainbow! Can't y'all hear me?! You stuck in a cotton pickin spell for pony's sake!” Applejack shouted.
Meanwhile on the ground Pinkie pie, Sweetie Belle, Pinkie Pie could only look on hearing Applejack's faint shouts.
“It's no good. She won't get through to Rainbow Dash. She barrier is too strong. I'm going to go up there and help her.” Twilight said and began to concentrate to cast a spell however Sweetie Belle put a hoof on shoulder.
“You can't.” Sweetie Belle said simply looking up.
“What do you mean? Applejack is going to be too late at this rate!” Twilight replied in a worried yet panicked tone.
“This is Applejack's battle...at this point the only one of us who could have any chance of reaching Rainbow is Applejack.” Sweetie Belle replied.
“How the heck is she supposed to reach her?” Twilight asked incredulously.
“Through her heart....” Sweetie Belle replied trailing off as she looked on.
“Wait, huh?! You mean Applejack is...” Twilight began to say then trailed off as she recalled the argument from before between Applejack and Rainbow Dash. “It makes sense now! But wait that means....” Twilight said after a few moments only to trail off again looking at Pinkie Pie.
Meanwhile up in the sky Applejack was still trying to reach Rainbow Dash.
“Damn it Dashy...if you don't break free soon they are gonna kill Y'all....” Applejack said tears streaming from her eyes as she continued to watch on as Rainbow Dash talked to whom she thought were the Wonderbolts.
More memories of the times they shared went through her mind causing her tears to begin pouring from her eyes as she looked on. “I can't be fightin it any longer....” Applejack said as she continued to look on. “I'm.....” Applejack trailed off looking on. “I....” Applejack trailed off once again feeling as if she was unable to finish the sentence for some reason. “I'm in love with......” Applejack said trailing off once again however this time she took and deep breath.
Meanwhile Rainbow Dash was trying on another outfit and looking at herself in the mirror.
“Hey this looks-” Rainbow Dash began to say until she heard a voice suddenly.
“I love you Rainbow Dash! And I can't bare to see y'all like this any longer!” Applejack's voice rang out from seemingly no where.
“Applejack?” Rainbow Dash said slowly. She didn't hear her voice but somehow felt it deep within the core of her being.
“What's up Rainbow?” Spitfire asked curiously.
“Please! Don't make me watch you like this anymore!” Applejack's voice rang out again.
Meanwhile outside of the illusion Applejack noticed one of the supposed Wonderbolts was slowly walking behind Rainbow stopped and was posing to stab her in the back with a sudden dark armored and sharpened hoof.
“Dashy! Noooo!” Applejack literally screamed out banging on the barrier until she suddenly phased through it. Without hesitation she charged strait for the supposed Wonderbolt and tackled it to the ground leaving it stunned.
“Applejack?! How the hell are you walking on clouds?!” Rainbow dash asked in shock until she saw the Wonderbolt on the ground with a dark armored and sharpened hoof. “Wait a second! You guys aren't the Wonderbolts! You're a bunch of fakes!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed.
“How the hell did she get in here?!” Soarin asked Spitfire who looked confused.
“I'll tell y'all how. No magic in the danged gum world can stop love.” Applejack replied standing up and walking beside Rainbow Dash.
“You-you love me?” Rainbow Dash asked with a blush on her face looking shocked but not disgusted at all.
“Yeah, I was just too darn hard headed to admit it till now.” Applejack replied sporting the same blush.
“Ugh..this is making me sick! Just kill them!” Soarin blurted out and in the next moment the Wonderbolt headquarters turned into an empty field of dark clouds. And the Wonderbolts themselves soon turned into dark armored Pegasus ponies who were now charging strait for Applejack and Rainbow Dash.
Applejack and Rainbow Dash looked at each other, both grinned, spit of each ones hoof, and slapped them together before jumping in the opposite direction of each other causing the two dark armored ponies to jump and land in the gap between them. In the next moment Applejack and Rainbow Dash charged forward, jumped, turned away mid-air so that their hind ends were facing the dark armored ponies, and bucked both dark armored ponies nearly simultaneously causing their heads to collide with each other and knock them out with a loud “clang!” as their helmets collided.
“Nice moves there Dashy.” Applejack said with a smile.
“Back at ya A-J” Rainbow Dash replied with the same smile.
Both ponies looked at each not saying a word for a moment. “Listen.. Rainbow. I don't know how y'all feel about me. But I can't hide my feelins for y'all any longer.” Applejack said trying to break the uneasy silence between them.
“Applejack...I...” Rainbow Dash trailed off lowering her head.
“I see...” Applejack replied looking heartbroken lowering her head also. “Well I suppose it was-” Applejack began to say until she was cut off abruptly by Rainbow Dash's mouth locking with her's.
Applejack was taken back at first but only at first and returned the kiss. Applejack's legs soon gave wave and Rainbow Dash fell on top of her. “You clumsy pony.” Rainbow Dash said with a giggle before they locked mouths kissing passionately as they ran hooves around each others backs...
Meanwhile on the ground Twilight was sitting there looking shocked but happy.
“I don't know how she did it. But she did!” Twilight said with a smile.
“The barrier's been down for awhile now...are you sure they are okay?” Pinkie Pie said after a few moments.
“I'm sure they are Pinkie Pie, but what's taking them so long?” Twilight asked curiously.
“I don't think we want to know....” Sweetie Belle replied trailing off.
“Wait...they can't be...they are....now?!” Twilight replied looking shocked as she stumbled over her words unable to make a proper sentence.
“Can't stop love I suppose...” Sweetie Belle said with a smile looking at Twilight.
Twilight's eyes widened then put both hooves on her head after a few moments. “Ahh! No! I can't get the images out of my head now!” Twilight exclaimed with a long and comically antagonizing groan causing both Sweetie Belle and Pinkie Pie to fall to their sides laughing.
Twenty minuets later Rainbow Dash could be seen carrying Applejack as she flew to the ground. “Sorry it took us so long we were-” I don't wanna know. Lets just leave it at that okay?” Twilight said putting a hoof up to cut off Rainbow Dash while Sweetie Belle and Pinkie Pie giggled.
“How in the hay could you know-” “I said drop it! I get it. You took are madly in love with each. I don't need the details okay?” Twilight said cutting off Applejack this time.
This caused both Applejack and Rainbow Dash to blush deeply and giggle. “Well we were gonna tell you y'all that we are a couple now but I guess y'all already figured that out.” Applejack said with a smile after a few moments nuzzling Rainbow Dash's cheek affectionately.
“So where do you think the others are?” Rainbow Dash asked trying to break the uneasy atmosphere. That was surrounding Twilight.
“I haven't the foggiest.” Twilight replied.
“Well why don't we try everypony's homes?” Sweetie Belle suggested.
“Worth a shot I reckon.” Applejack replied.
Meanwhile Rarity was posing for photo shoots as Photo Finish took picture after picture.
“That's it! Just like that! Marvelous!” Photo Finish exclaimed with a smile.
“Well if I am the most beautiful pony in all of Equestia. So I guess I’m a natural!” Rarity replied striking a regal and proud pose with one hoof on her chest as Photo Finish took photo after photo.
“Yes! You are a complete natural! That is why I Photo Finish chose you!” Photo Finish exclaimed.
Meanwhile outside of Rarity's house Twilight, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Sweetie Belle stood outside watching from outside the barrier.
“Come on Dashy. This is serious.” Applejack replied in a concerned tone.
“I know but still...” Rainbow Dash replied and sighed.
“Okay, anypony have an idea of how we are gonna reach her?” Twilight asked looking at her friends.
“I got one...” Rainbow Dash said with a mischievous smirk.
Meanwhile Rarity was making a different pose now as Photo Finish took pictures.
“Boo! You're ugly as a mule!” Rainbow Dash's voice rang out causing Rarity's eyes to flash open looking pissed off.
“Who said that?!” Rarity exclaimed looking around.
“I did! You couldn't look beautiful even if the fate of Equestia rode on your looks alone!” Rainbow Dash's voice rang out again.
“What are you doing? Come now! Pose and let me take pictures so I can make you shine all a crossed Equestia!” Photo Finish exclaimed looking irritated.
“A Flashlight with a dying battery could shine brighter than you!” Rainbow Dash's voice rang out seemingly from nowhere.
“Rainbow Dash?! Where are you?! I'm going to stop you're blue head into the ground for saying those cruel things!” Rarity retorted angrily.
“I'm outside! Come and get me you ugly mule!” Rainbow Dash's voice rang out.
“oohhh.. It. Is. On!” Rarity exclaimed and stepped down from the posing platform.
Meanwhile outside of Rarity's house.
“I can't believe this is actually working...” Twilight said looking dumfounded with a hoof on her face.
“Rarity's going to stomp y'all skull into the ground....” Applejack said looking uneasy.
“I don't think I've ever seen Rarity this mad!” Pinkie Pie chimed in looking slightly scared.
“Even if this breaks the illusion, this won't end well...” Sweetie Belle remarked followed by a groan.
Meanwhile Rarity was taking one step at a time stomping the ground with each step she took leaving imprints of her hooves in her wake.
“Wait! You can't! If you leave i'll never-” Photo Finish began to say only to have her glasses smashed into her face and fall to the ground out cold by Rarity as she walked past her.
Rainbow Dash however was laughing her tail off and not really listening. “Once she's outside I will but this just too funny to not watch!” Rainbow Dash said laughing.
“Applejack I suggest you stand by the door and be ready to grab Rarity by the tail...” Twilight said with a sense of unease in her voice to which Applejack nodded,walked up next to the door, and stood there.
Moments later the door was nearly knocked off it's hinges as Rarity kicked it open at which point the illusion around disappeared however Rarity hadn't noticed and lunged at Rainbow Dash only to have her tail grabbed by Applejack's mouth as she tried with all her might to hold her back.
“Hold it there missy! Dashy was only trying to help you break the spell!” Applejack said through gritted teeth however Rarity wasn't listening.
“Listen to her Rarity! I was only joking around! I didn't mean a word of it!” Rainbow Dash said trying to get through to her however she seemed to be failing.
“She's blacked out.” Sweetie Belle stated simply, jumped up, and gave her a strong buck to the skull knocking her out.
Rarity came to moments later holding her head. “Oh goodness. What happened?” Rarity asked looking around confused.
“Rainbow Dash got you to break the spell on yourself...but I think she took it a bit too far...” Twilight explained giving Rainbow a disapproving look.
“So everything she said...” Rarity trailed off looking at Rainbow Dash.
“I didn't mean a word of it Rarity.” Rainbow Dash said with a sincere smile.
“Well then I must thank you Rainbow but there's just one thing...” Rarity said trailing off as she walked up to Rainbow Dash and slapped her out of the blue. “Don't EVER call me a mule again. Are we clear?” Rarity said with a stern look.
“Crystal....” Rainbow replied rubbing her cheek.
“I think y'all deserved that a little bit Dashy.” Applejack said with a smirk.
“Yeah,yeah. I know.” Rainbow Dash replied having stopped rubbing her cheek.
“One question I have is how the heck did Rainbow reach you?” Twilight asked curiously looking at Rarity.
“I can answer that one.” Applejack said raising a hoof. “Rarity here was raised by a proper family as y'all know and being called a mule in a high classy society like she lived in was the biggest insult one high class pony could say to another. It means that the pony was not of pure high class lineage and was a fake trying to fit into a high class society.” Applejack explained and stopped for a moment to let everyone take that in then continued. “So when Dashy here called her that it lit her fuse faster than a short fused pile keg and made her blow her top big time.” Applejack explained.
“That's right. But how could you possibly know this Applejack?” Rarity said looking stunned at the fact Applejack knew this.
“Because I got called it quite often when I was young filly, during the time I was living with my aunt and uncle in fillidephia.” Applejack replied.
“Oh, you mean before you got your cutie mark?” Sweetie Belle chimed in.
“Yep. That was the part I left out that happened just before I felt homesick. I felt it was a bit explicit for a young filly such as yourself to hear so I left it out.” Applejack replied with a smile.
“But that still doesn't explain how her voice got through the barrier.” Twilight said after a few moments.
“I didn't know if it would work either but I figured if anything could get through to her it was a hit on her looks.” Rainbow Dash replied with a grin earning a glare from Rarity.
“Well now that this is cleared up, we got one last pony to find.” Sweetie Belle said looking over in the direction of where Fluttershy's house was.
“Lets get going then.” Twilight replied at which point the ponies began to make their way to Fluttershy's cottage.
Meanwhile a few miles outside of Ponyville Trixie stood watching all of this happen with a smile on her face when a solder colt walked up next to her. “You fooled around with them for too long General Trixie. Now all but one has escaped.” The solider colt said simply.
“Let me put this in terms you feeble mind can comprehend...in a game of chess, the pawns go first. They allow the player to gain vital information on their opponents strategy and also extra small things such as how they react when a piece is taken so they know if they are bluffing or not. Or in this case that vital information being...something about a book and their memories.” Trixie replied not looking away.
“So?” The solider colt replied clearly not getting what she was talking about.
“So in other words you incompetent moron. My pawns are the only things that have been taken so far..now they get to face my rooks,knights,bishops, and finally if they live that long....the queen.” Trixie said putting a hoof on her chest as she said the word “queen”.
Meanwhile back in Ponyville the six ponies finally were at the door to Fluttershy's cottage.
“Yep...she's in there alright.” Twilight remarked placing a hoof on the invisible barrier watching it ripple as she touched it.
“So any bright ideas on getting in there?” Rainbow Dash asked to which Twilight shook her head.
Sweetie Belle placed a hoof on the barrier, closed her eyes for a few moments, then opened them. “The caster of this spell has pulled out all the stops on this one. There is no way we are getting through to her nor is Twilight's magic strong enough for this one even with her raw magical talent as powerful as it is.” Sweetie Belle said in a matter of fact tone.
“So what the hay do we do then?” Applejack asked in a worried tone.
“There's no choice...i wanted to avoid doing this until we were out of Ponyville because of the caster's spells being their eyes and ears in this town but there's no other option.” Sweetie Belle said, walked over to Pinkie Pie and in a flash of light revealed their combined form.
“Stand back. This is going to get messy.” Pinkie pie said and began to concentrate to cast a spell. Soon a blanket of pink magic began to coat the illusion around Fluttershy's cottage.
“What are you going to do? Weaken it like before?” Twilight asked curiously as Pinkie Pie continued to concentrate.
“No. this spell is far to powerful to simply be weakened. I've got to dispel it.” Pinkie Pie replied as sparks of magic began to spout from her horn.
The Ponies watched on as Pinkie Pie continued to cast her spell causing the illusion around Fluttershy ripple ever so slightly.
Meanwhile Fluttershy was tending to the wounded puppy.
“There, there now! We will have you feeling well in no time!” Fluttershy said with a smile as she gave the puppy some warm soup.
Just then a ripple in the world around Fluttershy made her look around. “Oh, my. What was that?” Fluttershy said looking away from the puppy around her home.
“It was probably nothing so how are-” Fluttershy began to say but let out a startled gasp as the small puppy who was there a few moments ago we now a very large and menacing looking wolf.
Suddenly all the ponies heard Fluttershy's horrified scream and a clatter.
“Hurry up! You gotta cast that spell faster than that! Fluttershy's in danger!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed looking positively scared as hell for Fluttershy's life.
“I'm casting this as fast...as...i can!” Pinkie Pie said in a strained tone.(Play Angel of Darkness now)
“Then let me help!” Twilight exclaimed standing next to Pinkie Pie and began to concentrate with all her might to cast the same spell.
“Do you have any idea....how to synchronize to my spell?” Pinkie Pie asked once again in a strained tone.
“Nope! But it's worth a shot!” Twilight replied as she continued to concentrate as a purple cloud of magic began to overlap Pinkie Pie's coat of pink magic.
“I'm no expert. But if I recall correctly magic synchronization is a highly advanced magic that requires both unicorns cast their spells in such a way they work together and if they don't well.....boom.” Rarity said trailing off for a moment and saying the word “boom” in a high pitched scared tone.
“What do you mean, boom?!” Rainbow dash asked in a panicked tone.
“Just that....if they can't synchronize their spells will reject each other resulting in a explosion.” Rarity explained looking worried with a tone to match it.
“What the hay can we do?” Applejack asked in the same panicked tone.
“Nothing but have faith in Twilight an Pinkie Pie's magic.” Rarity said with a nervous smile.
“If you guys wanna run....i won't blame you..” Twilight said in a strained tone.
“Yeah, we won't be mad at ya.” Pinkie Pie chimed in with the same strained tone.
“Nothin doin! We're a family, and family stays together!” Applejack said proudly.
“Exactly!” Rainbow Dash chimed in.
“I couldn't agree more. We have your flank now break that spell!” Rarity exclaimed in a encouraging tone.
Twilight and Pinkie Pie looked at the three with a smile,nodded and began to concentrate with all their might as sparks of magic spouted from their horns as if it was pouring down rain from their horns.
Another terrified scream could be heard coming from within the cottage followed by a shattering sound. “Come on....” Applejack said taking hold of Rainbow's hoof with her own and gripping it tightly.
“I WILL save Fluttershy!” Twilight thought to herself.
Twilight suddenly found herself in a bright room filled with pink magic.
“Hey! You made it Twilight!” Sweetie Belle's voice called out as she came into view.
“Where is this place?” Twilight asked curiously looking behind herself an noticed a bright room behind her filled with purple magic.
“This is what happens when two unicorns synchronize their magic. Right now our consciousness are linked as one. Now we both just need to concentrate with all our might on the same spell and it should work!” Sweetie Belle explained.
“Where's Pinkie Pie?” Twilight asked curiously looking around.
“Oh silly me I should have explained that. In our mind my form is the dominate one.” Sweetie Belle explained with a smile.
“Oh. Well lets get concentrating then!” Twilight replied with a smile.
“Okay. Place both your front hooves on mine. “Sweetie Belle instructed to which Twilight obeyed.
“Now. Concentrate will all your being on the spell at hoof!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed closing her eyes.
Twilight did as she was told however when she began to concentrate images of Spike's death began to shoot through her head at which point a sudden fissure appeared between them. Sweetie Belle opened her eyes and looked around in shock.
“Twilight! You have to overcome your guilt or we can't synchronize our spells! Spike's death wasn't your fault!” Sweetie shouted as the gap between them became bigger.
“Yes it was! I should have protected him!” Twilight shouted tears swelling in her eyes.
Meanwhile outside of their minds the magic around he cottage began to fissure and sputter causing Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity to give panicked looks as Rainbow Dash and Applejack hugged each other tightly.
Meanwhile back inside Twilight and Pinkie Pie's mind...
“Twilight listen to me! You couldn't have done anything! It happened so fast that there was nothing you could do!” Sweetie Belle shouted though now her voice was becoming faint as the rift between them became even bigger.
“Yes, I could have! I could have given my life in exchange for his, jumped in the way, or something, anything! So he would still be alive!” Twilight shouted back tears flooded from her eyes.
“Twilight, listen to me! You can't keep blaming yourself. Think back to when it happened! I know it's painful but you must! You'll see that there was nothing you could do! Please Twilight! Fluttershy is going to die if we don't work together!” Sweetie Belle shouted.
“But it's all my fault....” Twilight said to herself.
Meanwhile outside of their mind the magic around the cottage was becoming even more unstable as it fissured even more fiercely. “If we die here. “Don't worry Applejack. Twilight and Pinkie Pie won't let us down...” Rainbow Dash said after the kiss and looked back up to the cottage and the magic which was continued to fissure fiercely. (if it's stopped playing. Play Angel of Darkness again!)
Meanwhile back inside Twilight and Pinkie Pie's minds...
Twilight found herself in a all too familiar yet horrifying scene. The dark armored solider ponies rammed down the door to her house. Twilight looked as she watched from a third person perspective as the event happened. She watched herself gasp in horror as the dark armored ponies came at her. And then what happened next she didn't recall seeing before. As if in slow motion Spike lunged himself directly in front of Twilight and was impaled mid-air then thrown to the side. In the next she saw Applejack give the same solider pony a buck to the skull knocking it away from her.
“He gave his life for me.....” Twilight said slowly coming to the realization that of what Spike just did in that scene. “He sacrificed himself....” Twilight trailed off. “For me....” Twilight said after a few moments until she came upon the letter on the ground. She recalled glancing at it before they left but never gave it a decent look.
The letter read:
Twilight. You destiny has come. Prepare to die!

“Oh my god....” Twilight said trailing off. “The letter didn't say Princess Celestia was missing at all! It was a letter from Trixie saying she had me marked for death...” Twilight said trailing off once again as she took this information in. “Spike knew this....” Twilight said trailing off once again and then saw the horrifying scene she remembered all too well. Spike laying dead in a puddle of his own blood. “so when those dark armored ponies charged in he threw the letter to the side and protected me....” Twilight said after a few moments tears still in her eyes but the feeling of guilt was no longer overwhelming her. Instead it was slowly being replaced with a new emotion. An emotion of admiration yet sadness.
Twilight looked on at Spike smiling then her facial expression turned to one of determination. “I won't let your sacrifice be in vain spike!” Twilight exclaimed and the scene around her disappeared and in the next moment the rift between her and Sweetie Belle suddenly disappeared and they were standing in front of each other once again.
“Twilight! You did it!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed happily.
“Yes. Spike gave his life to protect me. He did the most noble thing anyone could do.” Twilight said tears in her eyes still then looked hooves with Sweetie Belle. “Now come on! We got a pony to save!” Twilight exclaimed with a smile at which point Sweetie Belle nodded and they both began to concentrate with all their might.
Meanwhile outside of their minds the magic around the cottage suddenly calmed and began to dispel the illusion faster than ever.
“They did it! They synchronized their magic!” Rarity exclaimed happily earning cheers from both Rainbow Dash and Applejack.
After a few more moments the barrier around Fluttershy's cottage completely disappeared at which point Twilight and Pinkie Pie both fell to the ground huffing and puffing. In the next moment a flash of light emitting from Pinkie Pie and Sweetie Belle appeared next to Pinkie Pie huffing and puffing too.
“That took more out of me than I thought.” Sweetie Belle said between huffs and puffs while Applejack, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash charged in.
once inside they saw Fluttershy laying in a corner bruised with cuts all over her body but she was still breathing. Applejack was first to see this and gasped.
“Oh my god! Fluttershy!” Rarity exclaimed and began to run over to her only to be cut off by the wolf jumping in front of her.
“Oh that tears it! No more gentle Applejack!” Applejack exclaimed filled with an unspeakable rage.
Before Rarity or Rainbow Dash could do anything Applejack lunged forward tackling the wolf to the ground and began to beat the living shit out of it with her hooves only to be kicked off moments later into the wall however she recovered quickly and tackled the wolf again.
“How could y'all do something so terrible to a pony who wouldn't hurt a fly?!” Applejack nearly screamed as she pounding the living daylights out of the wolf again however she was once again kicked off and this time was pounced by the wolf.
“Applejack!” “ AJ!” Rarity and Rainbow Dash shouted at once and began to run to her aid.
“Stay back! This varmint is mine!” Applejack shouted causing Rarity and Rainbow to stop in their tracks as it became obvious that was she was holding the wolf's mouth away with her front hooves even though she was straining to do so.
“You want as piece of this pony?! Well you're going to have to work for your meal bub!” Applejack shouted, kicked the wolf off her, and then proceeded to tackle it again.
Rarity and rainbow could only watch as Applejack and the wolf took turns pinning each other and kicking each other off them till Applejack landed on top of the wolf's back in a lunge as the wolf attempted to move out of the way of getting pinned.
The wolf bucked and flung itself around to try to get Applejack off it's back but she wouldn't budge. Applejack then put one hoof on each side of the wolf's head. “Sorry to cut this rodeo short, but you're one bull who needs to be put...” Applejack trailed off as she began to attempt to twist the wolf's neck in one direction even though it was trying to resist with all it's might. “Down!” Applejack shouted followed by a sickening snapping sound at which point the wolf's eyes rolled into the back of it's head and fell to the ground dead.
Applejack then hopped off the wolf's back looking even more bruised and cut up than Fluttershy did but still standing...that is until her legs gave way only to fall onto Rainbow Dash's back as she speed over to her to catch her mid-fall. “I got ya hon...” Rainbow Dash said with a smile as she carried Applejack over to the other side of the room.
“You silly pony. Why didn't you let me help ya?” Rainbow Dash asked Applejack as she began to lay her down on the floor.
“Heh. I reckon I wasn't in my right head thar.” Applejack replied with a chuckle.
“I'll say.” Rainbow Dash said with a smile and giggle before she gave her a short yet passionate kiss. “But that was a very cool thing you did there.” Rainbow Dash said after the kiss with a smile.
“How's Fluttershy?” Applejack asked after a few moments trying to stand up but couldn't as a sharp pain in her side caused her to give out a cry of pain and fall back to the floor.
“She's okay and in better condition than you might I add.” Rarity replied examining Fluttershy.
At this time Twilight, Pinkie Pie, and Sweetie Belle came running in and stopped at the sight that beheld them. “Who did this?” Twilight asked astonished.
“You can thank this crazy pony over here for that little scene right there.” Rainbow Dash said with a smile pointing at Applejack who gave a weak chuckle.
“Holy molly! Applejack, are you out of your mind? You took on a scary wolf on your own?!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed looking at the dead wolf and back to Applejack.
It was at this time that Fluttershy was coming too. “Rarity?” Fluttershy said in her natural whispering tone but you could tell it was pained.
“We are all here for you Fluttershy.” Twilight said causing Fluttershy's glance to go from Rarity to everypony behind her and then to the other sight of the room.
“Oh, my gosh! What happened to Applejack?!” Fluttershy asked as she forced herself to stand up even though she let out a pained cry as she did so.
“Fluttershy don't try to walk. You may be fine but you need to rest.” Rarity said but Fluttershy ignored her.
“Don't worry about me. Applejack needs medical attention now. Quickly go get my medical supplies in the back I usually use to treat small woodland animals!” Fluttershy exclaimed at which point Rarity did as she said even though the statement wasn't directed at her.
Fluttershy limped over to Applejack and looked over him. “Oh dear me. These wounds are serious.” Fluttershy said giving a wide-eyed look.
“What's y'all talkin about? This is nothin.” Applejack said though she fact she couldn't move an inch said otherwise.
“Don't be stupid! If these wounds go untreated you could die!” Fluttershy exclaimed. Even though she still whispered you could hear the urgency in her voice all the same.
At this point Rarity was rushing up next to Fluttershy with a box of medical supplies in her mouth by the handle.
“Listen carefully Rarity. When I ask for something I need it handed to me without hesitation otherwise Applejack could die.” Fluttershy said in a matter of fact tone.
“Are her injuries that serious?” Twilight asked in a worried tone.
“Oh dang. I reckon you ain't jokin...i'm startin to feel....” Applejack said in a light headed tone before she passed out.
“Twilight, Get Rainbow away from here. I don't care if you have to put her under a sleeping spell! I need room to take care of Applejack! Rarity, hand me some gauze, bandages, disinfectant, and my sewing kit now!” Fluttershy exclaimed in a voice much like her normal whispering tone at which point much to Rainbow Dash's dismay Twilight lifted her up with her magic and moved her over next to her. And Rarity quickly used her magic to get the said items out as quickly as possible.
Each minuet that passed felt like hours to the ponies as Fluttershy asked for item after item from Rarity, used her mouth and wings to hold the items leveled so she could operate on Applejack. Rainbow Dash looked on as she paced back and forth tears in her eyes.
“Is she going to be okay?” Rainbow Dash asked her voice cracking as she spoke.
“I...don't know..” Twilight replied tears in her eyes as well as they looked on
Hours seemed to pass by as Fluttershy continued to ask for sometimes the same item or a completely different one ever so often until she finally stopped asking for items and used her sewing kit to sew up one last deep cut.
Fluttershy limped away and let out a deep sigh. “Is she going to be okay? Please tell me she's going to be okay!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed shaking Fluttershy until Twilight stopped her. “Calm the hell down Rainbow! Panicking like this won't help anything!” Twilight exclaimed then looked at Fluttershy.
“It all depends on Applejack now. I've done what I can.” Fluttershy said which didn't make any of the ponies feel better.
Everypony's mood as on pins and needles as they waited with Fluttershy checking on her ever so often to make sure she was still breathing.
“I should have helped her! Damn you Rainbow! You such a idiot!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed and began hitting her head against the wall suddenly.
“Stop that!” Twilight exclaimed trying to stop Rainbow Dash from banging her head against the wall but no matter how much she tried should couldn't. “Damn it, Rainbow Dash! I said stop it!” screamed using her magic to stop her head from hitting the wall only to be shoved to the ground.
“I didn't see you doing anything!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed angrily.
“I was exhausted as fuck from casting a extremely difficult spell with Pinkie Pie! Hello! I could barely move let alone talk!” Twilight retorted as her anger began to rise.
“Would you two calm you damned tails! Or so help help me, I’ll combine with Sweetie Belle and put you both in a damned strait jacket!” Pinkie Pie shouted at the top of her lungs causing both Rainbow Dash and Twilight to gawk in her direction slack-jawed then to Sweetie Belle.
“Don't look at me! She was the one thinking it!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed defensively.
“Sorry Twilight...i guess I’m just worried about Applejack.” Rainbow Dash said after a few moments followed by a sigh.
“You and me both.” Twilight replied with a smile at which point they hugged each other.
“I can't lose her Twilight...I've been in love with her for as long as I can remember.” Rainbow Dash said in a whisper as tears streaked down her cheeks.
“You listen to me Rainbow Dash, Applejack is a strong pony. Stronger than all of us combined. She will pull through!” Twilight exclaimed still hugging her even more tightly now.
Meanwhile a few miles outside of Ponyville. “What do you know...they defeated my rooks....but the knights are now in position. How will you will you handle them Twilight?” Trixie asked aloud with a cruel sneer on her face....

MEMORIES OF A LIFE LONG FORGOTTEN PART 2
Meanwhile back inside of Fluttershy's house the ponies were talking about how they are going to get to the library once Applejack recovered.
“Well thanks to the Applebloom fake in Applejack's illusion we know who's behind this...” Twilight said in a matter of fact tone.
“That bitch Trixie.” Rainbow Dash exclaimed hitting the floor with a hoof. “When I get my hooves on that bitch, I’m gonna drag her flank strait into the stratosphere and drop her from there! But I’m not gonna stop there! I'm gonna snap her damned horn off,break her legs, and then after all that just before she hits the ground I’m gonna sonic rainbow her flank into outer space!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed grinding her hooves into the floor then looked at everyone who was now staring at her with scared looks.
“What?! She hurt my girlfriend! And Celestia help her if AJ dies!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed hitting her hoof on the floor again.
“What in the world could be worse than what you just described?” Twilight asked scared to find out.
“How does a sharp metal spike up her rump and vagina while being rooted to the ground by said metal spikes sound?” Rainbow Dash said a few moments later with a evil grin causing all the ponies to wince and give pained expressions.
“My gosh...you have one heck of a cruel mind Rainbow Dash.” Rarity said after a few moments.
“Heh...i can be twenty percent crueler....” Rainbow Dash said trailing off.
“Ohhh-kaay! Change of topic please!” Sweetie Belle chimed in a uneasy tone.
“yes, I couldn't agree more...” Rarity said agreeing with Sweetie Belle.
“Well as I was saying before Rainbow's colorful wording of what she's going to do to Trixie...” Twilight said trailing off. “We know Trixie is behind this and she's become much more powerful than the last time we saw her. So the question is, what is she exactly capable of?” Twilight asked the group.
“I'd venture a guess at she's a class A-plus magic user. So that means she capable of just about anything minus class-S spells.” Sweetie Belle said earning confused looks from the ponies including Twilight.
“Honestly...what do they teach you ponies these days....” Sweetie Belle said in a annoyed tone and took a deep breath. “Okay. There are six classes of magic unicorns can use. Class-F is beginner magic, such as flipping a page of a story book or lifting an object up with their magic. Class-D branches into more advanced spells such as creating objects out of thin air altering one's appearance and such. Class-C ranges in magic such as long range spell casting such as a crossed town. And changing the forms of multiple creatures to look and sound differently. Class-B involves very advanced magic. Such as creating large scale illusions like the ones we were in except Class-B illusions don't use ones memories to project them. Class-A however does. This branch of magic entails magic synchronization among many other advanced spells. Class-S is the highest rank any unicorn can use. But very few master Class-S spells. In fact only two unicorns in Equestia's history have mastered them. They detail things such as altering realty as we know it, manipulating our memories, and of course long distance spell casting that can reach all over Equestia.” Sweetie Belle said taking breaths between sentences and finally ending her explanation.
“So..what does that make me?” Twilight asked curiously.
“Well up until the recent events that transpired you were a Class-C unicorn. But now I'd rank you as a Class-B.” Sweetie Belle said with a smile.
“What about me?” Rarity asked curiously.
“You? eh....you're a class-D unicorn.” Sweetie Belle said earning a snicker from Rainbow Dash and an appalled look from Rarity.
“I'm going to go out on a hoof and guess that Princess Celestia and Nightmare Moon are the two unicorns who mastered Class-S spells.” Twilight said after a few moments.
“Exactly.” Sweetie Belle replied.
Suddenly the floor began to shake violently under the ponies much to their shock. “What's going on?!” Twilight exclaimed looking around frantically.
“I have no clue but it's become obvious this cottage is no longer safe! Lets make like air-force ponies and get the right flank out of here!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed in reply.
“But we can't move Applejack. It might worsen her condition if we move her before she fully recovers!” Fluttershy exclaimed in a panicked yet whispering tone.
“I'll stay with Applejack, you girls check out who the hell is making the floor shake like this!” Rainbow Dash said zipping to Applejack's side.
“Alright, If it looks like the cottage is going to give way you pick her up and get the hell out of here!” Twilight replied at which point the ponies ran outside of the cottage.
“Holy candy-crackers! Look at that Twilight!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed pointing up.
“It's.....it's....” Rarity said trailing off looking horrified.
“It's a Ursa-major!” Twilight exclaimed finishing Rarity's sentence for her.
“Is it real or another tricky trick?!” Pinkie Pie asked looking up at the huge bear as it took another step towards the cottage shaking the ground with each step it took.
“It's real alright...and pissed off.” Sweetie Belle said answering Pinkie Pie's question.
“We can't kill it. It's just a wild animal!” Fluttershy exclaimed looking scared.
“Yeah, well that won't stop it from killing us!” Twilight exclaimed as the Ursa-major took yet another step closer to the cottage.
“Any ideas?!” Rarity asked in a panicked tone.
Meanwhile inside the cottage Rainbow Dash stood by Applejack not moving an inch looking for the slightest hint of the cottage giving way.
“What does a pony have to do to get some cotton pickin sleep around here...” Applejack said in a weak tone.
“Applejack! You're okay! I was so worried about you!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed giving her a hug and kissing her forehead then on her mouth then gave her another hug.
“Lighten up thar Dashy...I’m still hurtin all over here.” Applejack replied with a wince but smiled non-the-less.
“Oh I’m sorry!” Rainbow Dash replied then placed a hoof on her cheek. “I thought I was gonna lose you...” Rainbow Dash said after a few moments with tears in her eyes.
“This pony ain't goin to kick the bucket anytime soon.” Applejack replied with a smile however the sudden shaking on the floor caught her attention. “What the hay is goin on here?” Applejack asked looking around.
“No time to explain, can you walk?” Rainbow Dash asked backing away slightly to give Applejack room to stand.
“I reckon I can give it a shot.” Applejack replied and began to stand up. It took her a few tries but she was able to finally stand on all fours with a wince.
“Lets get out of here!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed putting her head under Applejack's right leg and began to help her walk out the door.
Meanwhile outside the Ursa-major was now directly behind the cottage.
“It's going to destroy the cottage and Rainbow Dash and Applejack are still inside!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed.
A mere second after Sweetie Belle's panicked statement the Ursa-major lifted it's massive body up so it was on it's hind legs and threw it's body at the cottage.
“Nooo!!!” Twilight screamed at the top of her lungs as the Ursa-major’s front paws collided with the cottage.
At the exact moment the Ursa-major's body hit the cottage a rainbow streak could be seen jetting from the door to the cottage just as the cottage gave way and collapsed. Moments later Rainbow Dash could be seen carrying Applejack and landing safely a short distance behind them.
“Thank Celestia you two are okay!” Twilight exclaimed running to them.
“I reckon that was mighty close. If Dashy hadn't noticed the ceiling start to cave in when she did we would have been a rainbow and apple pancakes right about now.” Applejack said with a smile.
A roar from behind them however shattered their happiness somewhat as the Ursa-major grew even more closer to them as it stepped over the cottage and towards them.
“I got this!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed and took to the skies, flew up a great distance, stopped, and flew strait back at the Ursa-major with a huge burst of speed causing a sonic rainboom to burst out behind her.
“Go Rainbow!” Pinkie Pie shouted with a cheer.
“You got this one darnlin!” Applejack shouted but regretted immediately afterward due to her injuries causing a sharp pain in her side as she shouted. “Hayseed. This injury is gonna put me out for a least a few days.” Applejack thought to herself.
“I'll prove to everyone I can do this on my own!” Rainbow Dash thought to herself as she sped forward getting close to the Ursa-major now however just as she drew within range to strike she was suddenly struck to the side and hit to the ground digging up dirt as she skid along due to her extreme speed for several feet until she skidded to a halt.
“What the hell hit me?” Rainbow Dash thought to herself and looked up to see yet another Ursa-major step beside the other one out of nowhere.
“That wasn't there before!” Rarity exclaimed both confused and scared by the sudden appearance of yet another Ursa-major.
“Trixie most likely summoned another one. She's probably watching this fight unfold right now.” Sweetie Belle said looking around.
“Hey! That's not fair!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed in a upset tone.
“Did she play fair before when was showing off a while ago?” Sweetie Belle asked her in a annoyed tone.
“How you could be my other half.....only Celestia knows....” Sweetie Belle replied with a extremely pained expression on her face while holding her right hoof on her forehead as she groaned in annoyance.
Fluttershy witnessed what happened to rainbow Dash then looked back to the Ursa-major. She then flew up to the Ursa-majors and stopped just short of them. “Now you listen here! You can't just-AHH!” Fluttershy began to say only to get whacked to the ground with a cry out pain as she hit the ground.
“Talking to them won't work Fluttershy!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed standing back up and took the skies once again. “Don't worry guys! I'll take care of them!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed and began to charge at them again.
“Wait! Lets work together and form a plan!” Twilight exclaimed however Rainbow Dash wasn't listening as she charged at them only to get whacked to the ground again. “Damn these overgrown fleabags are kicking my flank!” Rainbow Dash thought to herself as she stood back up wearily.
Meanwhile Fluttershy was simply standing on the ground wondering what she could do. “I'm not strong enough to fight them...and I can't talk to them. What can I do?” Fluttershy said aloud in her whispering voice unheard by the other ponies.
“This is getting stupid! Rainbow Dash keeps getting pummeled and Fluttershy can't seem to figure out what to say to them to get them to calm down.” Twilight said as the Ursa-majors grew even closer.
Rainbow Dash stood up once again and looked at Ursa-majors as they grew closer to the other ponies but more importantly at least to her was the fact they were growing closer to Applejack who couldn't run let alone barely walk. “I have to protect Applejack but....every time I try to go at them I get knocked to the ground. How the heck am I supposed to be able to take them on?” Rainbow Dash thought to herself then looked at Fluttershy who was still unable to figure out what to do.
At the moment she looked at Fluttershy Zecora's words came flooding into her head...
FLASHBACK
“Rainbow Dash, You must learn to swallow your pride. Otherwise you will watch you friends die when they needed you at their side.” Zecora said and turned to Fluttershy.
“Fluttershy, you must learn to be confident in your own abilities. Otherwise you're friends will suffer from your disability.” Zecora said and turned to Pinkie Pie.
END FLASHBACK
“I can't do this alone....” Rainbow Dash said to herself quietly then looked at Fluttershy. “Fluttershy! I need you're help!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed causing Fluttershy to look in her direction.
“But...what can I do?” Fluttershy replied in a feeble tone.
“Oh no. There are much better fliers out there than me.” Fluttershy replied taking a small cowering stance.
“Damn it Fluttershy! You're just as fast as me! I've seen you when you put your heart into flying! You fly just as fast as me, no even faster than me!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed swallowing her pride for the first time ever.
“You're just saying that...” Fluttershy replied even though Rainbow Dash could tell she was flattered.
“I mean it! You're the best flier in all of Equestia! Even better than me! When you fly, you fly with your heart! I only fly to show off...” Rainbow Dash said trailing off with a slight ping of guilt in her chest as she realized what she said was completely true.
“Dashy.....” Applejack said in an awed tone knowing this wasn't easy for her to do.
The Ursa-majors took another step becoming even more closer to the ponies. “Isn't there any kind of spell we can cast to calm them?!” Twilight exclaimed in a questioning tone to Sweetie Belle.
“Nope. A Ursa-minor maybe but an Ursa-major is immune to all kinds of magic.” Sweetie Belle replied.
“That's what makes you a better flier than I’ll ever be!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed after what seemed like a dramatic pause by Rainbow Dash.
“You really mean that? Fluttershy replied with a smile.
“Yeah....Now will you help me kick some Ursa-major flank?” Rainbow Dash said as she walked over to Fluttershy extending a hoof. (play Angel of Darkness now)
“I guess I could give it a try.” Fluttershy replied with a smile.
“Don't try. Lets do this!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed with a wide grin.
“Okay!” Fluttershy replied and the both of them took off to the skies at great speeds.
“Wow. Rainbow wasn't just bluffing. Fluttershy really can fly just as fast as she can!” Twilight exclaimed looked shocked but excited.
“Alright! Now you think you can keep up with my sonic rainboom?” Rainbow Dash asked with a grin.
“Can YOU keep up with me?” Fluttershy retorted with a wide smile looking very confident.
“Oh, cocky! Ha-ha! I like it! Show me what you got Fluttershy!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed with a smile and took a sudden dive with blinding speed followed closely by Fluttershy.
“Holy Apple pies on a stick! Is Fluttershy doin what I think she's doin?!” Applejack exclaimed astonished at Fluttershy's blinding speed.
“She going at the same speed as Rainbow Dash. At this rate they will break the sound barrier at the same time!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed with a smile.
“Here we go! You ready?!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed getting ready to put on a burst of speed.
“Yes!” Fluttershy replied with a nod.
“The lets do it!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed and gave a huge burst of speed while Fluttershy did the same.
“If they break the sound barrier at the same time....” Twilight trailed off.
“Their combined power will result in a breaking of the sound barrier we have never seen before.” Sweetie Belle said finishing Twilight's statement for her.
“Almost....there....” Rainbow dash said as she drew closer and closer.
“I...can't keep up!” Fluttershy exclaimed as she began to loose speed.
“Yes, you can! Now lets do this!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed successfully reenforcing Fluttershy's confidence again as she picked up speed again.
Moments later a extremely loud and powerful explosion occurred as both Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy broke the sound barrier simultaneously resulting in a ripple of rainbows and to everypony's astonishment a ripple of butterflies.
Fluttery and Rainbow Dash began to circle each other in a mid air swirling motion. Causing the stream of Rainbow and Butterflies to intertwine each other as they sped down towards the Ursa-majors.
“This....is.....awesome!!!” Fluttershy exclaimed in voice much unlike her whispering voice and more like how she sounded when Rainbow Dash created her second ever sonic rainboom at the best flier competition as she looked behind herself and back to Rainbow Dash who was smiling back.
“I know how much you don't like hurting animals but we have no choice! Do you understand Fluttershy?” Rainbow Dash shouted as they drew closer and closer to the Ursa-majors.
“Yes! These animals need get a spanking!” Fluttershy replied with a determination look.
“Alright! When I give the signal we break off okay?!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed at which Fluttershy nodded as the Ursa-majors became so close that mere seconds later they would make contact.
“Now!!!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed at which point Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash broke off in opposite directions however what happened next not even Rainbow Dash knew would happen.
Upon breaking off a huge explosion occurred between them resulting in a ripple of Rainbows layered in Butterflies that literally catapulted both Ursa-majors in opposite directions at such blinding speeds they were out of sight so fast it looked as if they were standing there one moment and in the next disappeared without a trace.
“Whoa.....”Was all Rainbow Dash could say as she watched this explosion and ripple occur.
Meanwhile all the ponies on the ground were at a loss of words,jaw dropped, eyes widened, and the only thing that anypony could hear if they were standing next to one was a faint and repeated “ah,ah,ah,ah...” Sound that came from their mouths.
A few minuets later both Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash came to a landing beside each other and saw this sight for themselves. An uneasy yet funny silence occurred between them until everypony suddenly began cheering for them.
“That was amazing!” Twilight exclaimed as she ran over to them.
“My, that was simply astonishing. I had no idea you two could do such a thing!” Rarity exclaimed as she walked up behind Twilight.
Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy could only just sit and let the other ponies hug and shower them with praise with the exception of Applejack who was laying a short distance away smiling. “Hey, girls let me through. I gotta go to my girl over there.” Rainbow Dash said with a giggle and made a path to Applejack.
“Did you see that? That was so cool!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed as she walked over to Applejack.
“I saw it alright. And let me tell ya. You swallowin your pride like that was cooler than any danged sonic rainboom I ever saw.” Applejack said with a smile.
Meanwhile Fluttershy was still getting praised and nearly suffocated by the dog pile known as her friends.
“Wow, I had no idea you could fly like that Fluttershy!” Twilight exclaimed.
“That sonic boom you pulled was the coolest ever!” Pinkie Pie chimed in.
“Actually. I was thinking of calling it my Flutterboom....” Fluttershy said beaming with pride until she slumped down into her usual shy pose. “If that's okay...i mean.” Fluttershy said after a few moments in her natural whispering voice.
“Of course it is, you silly filly!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed ruffling up Fluttershy's hair.
Meanwhile a few miles outside of Ponyville....
“Well...that was certainly a surprise...I never expected Fluttershy to be able to fly as fast as Rainbow Dash. And the connection between Pinkie Pie and Sweetie Belle. Ha! That explains a lot! So they are two parts of the same pony. While in their unique forms they are powerless. But together.....they form a formidable force. Hmm....” Trixie said putting a hoof on her chin in thought. “At this rate my bishops will be over come in no time flat...time to accelerate my plans....” Trixie said and turned to the solider ponies.
“You're in charge of things while I’m gone. No one enters the camp except me. Got it?” Trixie said at which point the solider pony nodded.
“It's time to see what this mysterious book is about in Twilight's house...” Trixie said with a sneer and disappeared in a flash of magic.
Meanwhile the seven ponies were making their way to Twilight's house with Rainbow Dash helping Applejack along. “Okay girls we're almost there. Just around this block and we'll see my house just down the street. Be ready for anything.” Twilight said getting nods from the others.
The ponies took a turn and began to walk looking around themselves for any possible attacker who may try to get drop on them.
“This is mighty odd. You'd think Trixie would have sicked somethin on us by now.” Applejack said looking around with a sense of unease.
“I know. It's just plain creepy.” Twilight replied as they drew closer and closer to Twilight's house.
A faint laughing however as they were at Twilight's door put them on guard as they opened it to see Trixie laughing hysterically. “I can't believe it...it was under my hooves all along. Hahaha!” Trixie said in a hysterical tone.
“Trixie!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed and suddenly found herself lifted into the air along with Pinkie Pie and slammed against opposite walls of the room.
“I think it's safer if you two remain apart...” Trixie said dropping a book she was holding up with her magic.
“Damn it! She knows about our connection!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed in a strained tone.
“Well that sucks!” Pinkie Pie replied in the same strained tone.
“Ha-ha! You don't know the half of it! I was going to wait here to kill you all but upon reading this little book right here. I'm in a good mood. I mean a REALLY good mood. So good in fact, I'm going to spare you're pathetic lives...” Trixie said trailing off putting a extreme emphasis on the word “really” as she said it. “For now at least...I’ve got a kingdom to claim!” Trixie exclaimed followed by a maniacal laughter as she disappeared in a whirl of dark clouds at which point Pinkie Pie and Sweetie Belle fell to the ground.
“What the hell did she mean by that?” Rainbow Dash asked looking confused as hell.
“I don't know. But we should thank our lucky stars we're alive right right now.” Sweetie Belle said as she walked back up to the others as did Pinkie Pie.
“What do you mean?” Rarity asked curiously.
“The magical power I sensed from her was nothing like I sensed before. Greater than Nightmare Moon's even.” Sweetie Belle said in a matter of fact tone.
“She going to go and overthrow Nightmare Moon I reckon.” Applejack said after a few moments.
At this Twilight immediately began to rush out the door. “Where the hay are you goin Twilight?” Applejack asked curious causing Twilight to stop in her tracks.
“She's going after Nightmare Moon.” Twilight replied.
“So? Why is that your problem?” Rainbow Dash said nonchalantly.
“She's my mother. That's why! I can't just sit back and let Trixie kill her. No matter what she's done. You guys get your memories back. I'm going to go and help Nightmare Moon.” Twilight replied, ran out the door and disappeared in a burst of magic.
“We can't just let her go alone. We have to help her!” Rarity exclaimed only for Sweetie Belle to block her path.
“We have to get our real memories back first. We'll only get in her way like this.” Sweetie Belle said in a calm tone.
“I reckon Sweetie Belle has a point.” Applejack said at which point Rarity gave a defeated sigh.
“So how you think it works?” Rainbow Dash asked putting a hoof on the book. In the next moment she let out a gasp as memories she never knew of began pouring into her head....
RAINBOW DASH'S MEMORIES FLASHBACK
“Commander Dash, are your forces ready to head out?” Celestia asked as she stood in front of Rainbow Dash who was wearing a golden armor with rainbow streaks on each side of her flank.
“Yes, but I have to ask. What is the point of this war? Why can't you and your sister just talk things out?” Rainbow Dash asked curiously.
“I have tried to reason with my sister. She refuses to listen...” Celestia replied with a saddened look.
“Very well. I'll contact Sargent Fluttershy and we'll head out in five minuets.” Rainbow Dash replied,bowed, and walked out of Celestia's throne room.
Rainbow Dash flew to the hanger where everypony was gathered ready to take off and landing beside Fluttershy. “Looks like it's official.” Rainbow Dash said after a few moments.
“It's okay. You tried.” Fluttershy said in her natural whispering tone then turned to face the rows of Pegasus ponies standing by. “Alright! Listen up! You all are the best of the best! That's what being a Wonderbolt means!” Fluttershy exclaimed shouting at the top of her lungs as she spoke. “I'm not going to lie to you. Many of you won't return alive. But if you should die....you will die knowing you gave your life in the name of a bright future for all the ponies of Equestia! “ Fluttershy exclaimed in her same shouting voice resulting in an uproar of cheers.
“Alright! Wonderbolts......Let's move out!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed and took a position to take off as hanger door began to open.
“Oh, Rainbow. Don't you worry about her. She'll be fine.” Fluttershy replied with a smile and shortly after Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy took off at blinding speeds followed by hundreds of Pegasus ponies.
END RAINBOW DASH'S MEMORIES FLASHBACK
These and more memories Rainbow Dash recalled with a stunned look on her face before she finally removed her hoof from on top of the book.
“What happened Rainbow?” Rarity asked curiously.
“I remember....i was a commander of Princess Celestia's air-force called the Wonderbolts. Fluttershy was there too. She was my rank hoofed Sargent...” Rainbow Dash replied after a few moments.
“Really? Wow. I was a Sargent!” Fluttershy said with a smile in a thrilled voice walking up to next to Rainbow Dash putting her hoof on the book accidentally and let out a gasp....
FLUTTERSHY'S MEMORIES FLASHBACK
“Oh my! Goodness me! This is intense!” Fluttershy exclaimed as she dodged a dark armored pony, impaled it in the back with her hind hooves, and flew up next to Rainbow Dash.
“This is a war Fluttershy! What do you expect it to be? Cute little squirrels fighting over a acorn?” Rainbow Dash retorted as she flew along side of her.
Suddenly a chain shot out and wrapped Fluttershy's wings together causing her to go into dive. Fluttershy let out a high pitched scream of terror as she tried to free her wings but they wouldn't budge from the binds that held her wings together as the plummeted towards the ground.
“I'm coming Fluttershy!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed abandoning her position in a mad dive to save her friend.
“Come on.......” Rainbow Dash exclaimed trying her best to catch up her speed increasing dramatically as she sped to Fluttershy.
Meanwhile Fluttershy's eyes were flooding tears that flew up behind her as she plummeted seeing the ground growing more and more dangerously close with each second that passed.
Suddenly Rainbow Dash could be seen flying right next to her and began to work on the chains that bound her wings. “Rainbow Dash? What are you doing?! You've abandoned your post! You could be court-marshaled for this!” Fluttershy exclaimed completely forgetting she was plummeting to her doom at the moment.
“Screw my rank! You're more important than that!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed in reply and finally managed to break the chains around Fluttershy's wings allowing her to lift up mere feet away from the ground along side of Rainbow Dash.
Suddenly a huge explosion could be heard above them causing both Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash took look above them and gasp in horror at the sight that beheld them. (play Sadness and Sorrow now)
A burst of dark magic could be see exploding above them that morphed into multiple sharp objects that impaled both the Wonderbolts and dark armored Pegasus ponies alike.
Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash could only look on in horror as they watched their comrades fall from the sky blood streaming upwards from their bodies as they fell tot he ground with a sickening thud.
“No....Soarin....Spitfire....” Rainbow Dash said trailing off as she saw two of her closest friends fall past them from a short distance away. Rainbow Dash's eyes widened and her pupils shrunk to their smallest size possible as she watched them hit the ground dead. “Noooooo!” Rainbow Dash screamed at the top of her lungs and looked up tears streaming from her eyes and saw Nightmare Moon.
“I'm going to kill you!” Rainbow Dash screamed in a high pitched raged voice as she suddenly took off at breakneck speed at Nightmare Moon.
END FLUTTERSHY'S FLASHBACK
Fluttershy then looked at Rainbow Dash tears in her eyes. She knew if she recalled that event so did Rainbow Dash. She then put a hoof on Rainbow Dash's shoulder only for her to jerk away.
“I'm fine!” Rainbow Dash said even though her voice cracked as she spoke.
“What in tarnation is wrong with you two?” Applejack asked in a confused tone.
“They both started behaving like this after they touched the book on the floor.” Sweetie Belle said in a matter of fact tone. “Simply touching the book must have restored their memories.” Sweetie Belle said after a few moments.
“And judging by their looks they weren't very pleasant ones....” Pinkie Pie chimed in.
“Our entire platoon was....” Fluttershy said trailing off.
“Killed! They were killed by Nightmare moon!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed finishing Fluttershy's sentence for her in a hurt and angry tone.
“I also found out why I flipped out when my wings were restrained. It all has to do with my fall from such a great height from the war. It traumatized me...” Fluttershy said after a few moments.
“Even with your memories redone she couldn't get rid of them completely I reckon.” Applejack said simply in reply to this. “I reckon it's my turn now.” Applejack said after a few moments.
Meanwhile while these events were unfolding Twilight had appeared in Canterlot hoping she wasn't too late to warn Nightmare Moon while Nightmare moon fought Trixie. (play Otherworld now)
“Where did you get such magical power from?!” Nightmare Moon exclaimed standing on one side of the throne room while Trixie stood on the other.
“You're such a fool Luna! You thought you could go on without me finding out the truth?!” Trixie replied and shot a beam of dark magic that Nightmare Moon countered with her own.
“It can't be.....” Nightmare Moon said trailing off as her eyes widened in shock.
“Oh it is! You stole a great deal of my magic from me just before you got knocked up with that mule of a daughter and put a spell on me to seal my memories away! Then you proceeded to take my place as the supposed Nightmare Moon just before the end of the war! And now...” Trixie said trailing off her eyes began to glow darkly. “I'm going to take that power back!” Trixie exclaimed overpowering Luna and enveloping her in a dark orb of magic.
Luna let out a high pitched scream of pain and agony as she felt her magic being absorbed by the orb at which point Twilight ran in and saw this.
“Mother!” Twilight exclaimed and as if on impulse her eyes flashed with a purple magic and her horn shot a beam at the orb shattering it. However it seemed as if it was too late as Luna returned to her form as a small filly and the orb of magic that was shattered turned into a puff of dark smoke that floated over to Trixie and began to circle her as she laughed manically.
“Twilight.....run...” Luna said in a weakened tone as Twilight ran to her side and looked on as Trixie's form changed as the dark magic swirled around her and dissipated revealing the form that Luna had.
“Well isn't this a cheerful family reunion.....” Trixie said with a cackle as she stared at Twilight who was standing directly in from of her mother in an effort to protect her.
“What did you do to her Trixie?!” Twilight exclaimed in a demanding tone.
“I simply took back what was mine. You're dear mommy was a fraud. I the great and powerful Trixie and the real Nightmare Moon!” Trixie exclaimed and began to laugh manically.
“What do you mean?!” Twilight exclaimed looking confused.
“Luna stole my magic when I wasn't looking in an attempt to end the war. However she wasn't aware that my dark magic had a will of it's own which consumed her! And what's even better is that dear old Princess Celestia still thinks it was her sister who started the war!” Trixie exclaimed with a cackle.
“So...my mother wasn't the real pony who started this war....it was you! And you made yourself look like her in order to deceive all of Equestia into following you and Celestia into thinking it was her sister!” Twilight exclaimed as rage began to fill her.
“Exactly....Luna is far to gentle to do the work that must be done...” Trixie said as her eyes began to glow darkly. “Pity...if you had stayed away you would have lived a while longer. But I guess killing two birds with one stone works just as well...” Trixie said and shot a beam of dark magic at Luna and Twilight only for it to hit a magical wall that Twilight has summoned.
“Oh come on...you're joking....you joking right?” Trixie said in a sarcastic stone with a hint of annoyance in it. “You honestly think you can stop my great power?” Trixie said upping the strength of her spell.
“Don't....underestimate.......” Twilight said trailing off as her eyes began to glow darkly. “Me!” Twilight exclaimed as a surge of dark magic erupted from her entire being repelling Trixie's spell and would have hit her if she had not teleported to another part of the throne room when she did.
Trixie gave an aggravated sigh. “I forgot that Luna gave birth to you when she had my magic for a moment. But that's a mistake I won't make again.” Trixie said with a sneer.
“Twilight...run...leave me...” Luna said weakly.
“Shut the hell up and let me protect you!” Twilight exclaimed her eyes still glowing darkly as she looked at Trixie who was preparing to cast a spell.
“Interesting....you've managed to obtain control over the dark magic within you...to a certain degree of course.” Trixie remarked taking note of Twilight's change in personalty. “But your resisting it's dark influence....give in and then your true power will be unlocked and you can join me at my side as we rule Equestia!” Trixie said with a malicious grin.
“No! I refuse to give in to the darkness in my heart! I will never join you!” Twilight exclaimed shaking her head quickly after she said this upon which her eyes returned to normal.
“You're....such a disappointment Twilight. All that power yet no will to use it.” Trixie said with a sneer.
“Teh! I don't need dark magic to kick you're flank to the moon and back! However I got bigger priorities at the moment!” Twilight exclaimed with a grin stepped next to her mother and they both disappeared in a flash of magic.
“Damn it! No!” Trixie shouted as she shot a beam of dark magic that hit the floor where Luna and Twilight once were mere milliseconds after they disappeared. “No matter.....I have my original form back now. And Equestia is mine!” Trixie exclaimed after a few moments followed by a maniacal laugh.
Meanwhile Applejack was seeing memories of her life that she had long forgotten...
APPLEJACK'S MEMORIES FLASH BACK
“Alright Y'all. Get ready! They should be showin thar ugly cotton pickin heads any moment now.” Applejack exclaimed.
“Colonel Applejack. I need a word with you.” A pink colored filly said walking up.
“The enemy is fixin to be on us at any moment. My ponies need me. Can't it wait Selena?” Applejack replied annoyed as Selena walked up next to her.
“Applejack my tolerance for your lack of formalities withstanding. If you continue to not address me by my rank properly in front of our fellow soldiers, I will put you under a spell that will make you think you're a four year old filly.” Selena said with a smirk.
“You can't be serious.” Applejack retorted in a shocked tone.
“I'll even have Applebloom braid your hair...” Selena said with a grin.
“Alright, Alright. I get the cotton pickin hint, Brigadier General Pie. So what you need to talk to me about?” Applejack replied after a few moments followed by a sigh.
“Lets talk about it elsewhere.” Selena said looking around and faced a pony who's flank brandished party hats.” Commander Pie. You're in command until Colonel Applejack or myself return.” Selena said with a smile.
“Don't worry. We have this.” Commander Pie replied at which point Selena looked away and walked over to Applejack.
“”Fight bravely.....father...” Selena said quietly to herself, walked over to Applejack, and then both disappeared in a flash of magic.
Moments later Selena and Applejack appeared empty field at which point Selena put a barrier of pink magic around them. “We can't be too careful.” Selena said after getting a inquiring look from Applejack.
“Now what's so cotton pickin urgent you had to take me away from my post Selena.” Applejack asked curiously.
“Princess Celestia has assigned me an important mission. We need to gather the elements of harmony to defeat Nightmare Moon.” Selena said after a moment making sure they were completely alone.
“That old mare's tale? They don't exist!” Applejack replied in an annoyed tone.
“Wrong. They do exist. You're the element of honesty.” Selena replied causing Applejack's jaw to drop.
“What about the others?” Applejack asked curiously.
“We aren't completely sure as of yet. But we think Sargent Fluttershy and Commander Dash may two others.” Selena replied.
“So if these confounded elements exist why in the hay haven't you figured out who they are yet?” Applejack replied curiously.
“It's not as simple as just looking at a pony Applejack. If we choose wrongly it could result in the complete and utter defeat of Celestia.” Selena replied with a sigh.
“Wait...you mean we are losin this here war? And these dang gummed elements of harmony are the Princess's ace in the hole?” Applejack asked in a disbelieving tone.
“Sadly, yes. We have no choice. Nightmare Moon is far too powerful and with each passing day her influence reaches even farther a crossed Equestia. At this rate in a mere few years Nightmare Moon will have all of Equestia under her hooves.” Selena said with a saddened look.
END APPLEJACK'S MEMORIES FLASHBACK
“Whoa nelly! That was one heck of a rush thar.” Applejack said they looked to Sweetie Belle and Pinkie Pie. “So you're real name is Selena eh?” Applejack said causing to Sweetie Belle and Pinkie Pie to be taken by her her sudden knowledge of her real name.
“If you know our real name then I must have worked with you at some point during the war. I think we should go next.” Sweetie Belle said and in a flash of light revealed their combined form.
Pinkie Pie then placed a hoof on the book and her forgotten memories began to pour in with her and Applejack's meeting among others....
PINKIE PIE AND SWEETIE BELLE'S MEMORIES FLASHBACK
“I refuse to let this happen!” Selena shouted as she looked around at Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Applejack.
“We've accepted this. Why in the hay can't you Selena?” Applejack said looking at Selena with a saddened look.
“All the lives lost, our friends and family we lost, do you honestly want to forget them and make their sacrifices in vain?!” Selena shouted looking at them all.
“I'd rather live a life of bliss then continue to have nightmares of seeing Soarin and Spitfire's deaths Selena...” Rainbow Dash replied with a saddened look.
“I agree...” Fluttershy chimed in with an equal saddened expression in her natural whispering tone.
“I lost my mother and father! But you don't see me wanting to forget they ever existed!” Selena replied and then gave a aggravated sigh. “Fine! If you won't do anything to stop this, than I will!” Selena exclaimed and ran out of the local research facility in Canterlot.
“Brigadier General Pie. What are you doing he-ahh!” A solider said as she was blasted to the side with a burst of of magic emitting from Selena as she ran by them into the local Canterlot magical research facility.
“Please don't force us to-AH!” Another solider said only to get blasted to the side as well.
“I won't....let....their sacrifices...be in...VAIN!” Selena thought to herself dramatically as she ran into the upper floors of the facility.
“Red alert! Red alert! Brigadier General Pie has begun an assault on the Canterlot Magical research facility! All forces are given complete and full permission to use any methods necessary to subdue her!” The speaks blared as Selena ran through the halls of the facility.
Selena made a right turn and began to make a turn towards the stairs when a suddenly blast of magic stopped her in her tracks. “ Brigadier General Pie. You here by ordered to cease and desist any and all attacks on this facility! “ A red colt said which brandished a hat with five stars on it in a circle.
“Five star general Joseph? Here?!” Selena thought to herself in a shocked tone as Joseph and twenty other solider ponies lined up behind him.
“If you're here. I know I’m in the right place!” Selena exclaimed as a eruption of pink magic erupted from her.
“You've always been hard headed Selena. Please stop this before you make the situation for yourself worse. At this rate your facing a Court-marshal and a dishonorable discharge don't make it any worse!” Joseph exclaimed.
“What's the point?! If those lab mules up there flip that switch I won't even know of my rank anyways! So I’ve got nothing to lose!” Selena exclaimed firing a wave of magic at Joseph and the rest of the solider ponies.
The wave of magic however was stopped dead in it's tracks and dispelled upon reaching Joseph. “Have you forgotten? I'm a Class A-Plus unicorn. You can't get rid of me that easily.” Joseph said narrowing his eyes as he flung his hat off his head revealing a horn.
“I didn't forget....but so am I.” Selena said taking a defensive stance.
“It was your stubborn attitude that made you lose your chance to obtain this rank Selena. And it's also your stubborn attitude that will cost you you're life is you persist!” Joseph exclaimed as red magic erupted from under him.
“You always underestimated me Joseph....” Selena said trailing off as pink magic continued to erupt from under her.
“Really now?” Joseph said with a skeptical look.
“I suppose it's now or never....” Selena thought to herself and let out a raging scream causing the pink magic to began to surround her as she began to float up.
“What in Celestia's name.....?” Joseph said in a shocked tone trailing off.
“I've always held back for fear of harming those around me but now...” Selena's voice boomed as she spoke trailing off as the magic around her began to spit and sputter sparks of magic. “All bets are off!!!!!” Selena shouted her voice still booming as she spoke and moments later launched a beam of magic directly from the magic that surrounded her so it was roughly five feet high and three feet wide which was the same size as the orb of magic that surrounded her.
The entire building shook as she launched her attack however Joseph managed to stop it with his own magic but he was barely staving it off as his hooves dug into the floor as they skidded a few inches every few seconds.
“I won't let the lives lost, the people who gave their lives in the name of Equestia, or the actions of all those who fought to protect this land disappear without a trace!” Selena's voice boomed.
“It...can't...be! She's got the magical power of a Class-S unicorn!” Joseph thought to himself dramatically as his soldiers ran for their lives frantically. “Why couldn't I sense this in her before?!” Joseph said aloud without meaning to.
“I always hid my true magical power Joseph. I suppressed it for the safety of those around me. But now..i have no reason to hold back anymore!” Selena exclaimed pushing Joseph back a foot suddenly with a burst of magical power.
Joseph was now pressed against the wall which soon gave way behind him revealing a sheer drop of fifty feet behind him. “At this rate she's going to push me over the edge and to my death!” Joseph though to himself dramatically as fear began to overwhelm him.
As if without warning a blast of purple magic erupted in between them cutting off Selena's beam of magic and saving Joseph from falling over the edge.
“What the-?” Selena thought to herself coming to her senses when a young small filly appeared floating up. “Joseph! Oh my gosh! What was I about to do?!” Selena exclaimed as she used her magic to teleport him to her side.
“You lost control Selena. But we have more important matters to attend to. Who is this young filly?” Joseph asked looking at the purple filly who brandished a cutie mark of a magical sparkle on her flank surrounded by a purple magic.
“I don't know. I've never seen her before!” Selena exclaimed confused. However in the next moment they both knew this filly was not friendly as she shot a beam of dark magic at them which they both jumped out of the way barely dodging.
“Where....is....my...mommy?!” The young filly shrieked and shot yet another beam of dark magic at them.
“This brand of magic....it's like Nightmare Moon's!” Selena exclaimed as she dodged another shot of magic from the filly.
“I don't know how she has magic similar to Nightmare Moon's but it's clear she is not in control of her actions!” Joseph exclaimed as he dodged a shot of magic himself.
“We can't possibly counter magical power of this magnitude!” Selena exclaimed as she used just about all her power to dispel a single shot of magic from the filly as it came at her.
Just then as if someone hit the off switch on the filly she fainted mid-air but did not fall as the magic around her disappeared. Moments later Princess Celestia appeared behind her and set her down gently on the floor.
“Princess! How can you possibly even consider such a thing! Erasing our memories?! How can you do such a thing?!” Selena asked walking up to Celestia.
“I'm sorry Selena....” Celestia said in a saddened tone and used her magic to knock her out....
END PINKIE PIE AND SWEETIE BELLE'S FLASHBACK
“Heh...Wowie. I was a loose cannon when I found out what Celestia was about to do.” Pinkie Pie said taking a hoof on the book and in a flash of magic Sweetie Belle appeared by her side.
“You're turn Rarity.” Sweetie Belle said after a few moments.
Rarity however didn't move an inch. “No. I won't. I can't.” Rarity said in a scared voice.
“Rarity....if you don't you won't be able to do anything against Nightmare Moon or Trixie for that matter.” Sweetie Belle said in a matter of fact tone.
“I simply can't.... i'm....” Rarity said trailing off. “I'm scared to death of what my real past may be....i don't want to know...maybe Celestia had the right idea with making us forget the memories.” Rarity said after a few moments.
“Rarity...” Sweetie Belle said in a saddened tone knowing it was memories of her and fear of learning that she may have been nothing but a lie is what was truly keeping her from touching the book.
“Rarity...no matter what may happen, no matter what you see in your memories, I will ALWAYS be your little sister.” Sweetie Belle said giving Rarity a tight and loving hug. “Now come on. We need you to do this. Otherwise we can't defeat Nightmare Moon.” Sweetie Belle said after a few moments.
“O-okay...” Rarity replied with a sigh though fear could still be heard in her voice.
Rarity began to walk towards the book taking one baby step at a time until she was in front of the book. She then turned to look at Sweetie Belle who was smiling back at her, took a deep breath, and placed a single hoof on the book...
RARITY'S MEMORIES FLASHBACK
“But sis!” A young white filly with pure light blue hair protested.
“No buts, Diamond! You are to stay here with you're aunt and uncle in mareon county.” Rarity replied as she began to make her way for the door.
“But,but,but I want to go with you!” Diamond protested tears in her eyes.
Rarity looked at her younger sister, sighed, and knelt down beside her placing a hoof on her shoulder. “Listen, it's not like I want to leave my little sister behind, but this is the safest place for you. I have a job to do and Princess Celestia is counting on me to play my part. I would be putting you in danger if I took you with me.” Rarity said in the most compassionate way she could.
“You'll come back right?” Diamond replied tears still in her eyes.
“Of course I will.” Rarity replied with a smile and began to stand up.
“If i'm in trouble. You'll come to my rescue right? Promise me you will.” Diamond said grabbing her by the tail before she could walk out the door.
“I Promise Diamond. I would never let anything happen to you.” Rarity replied genuinely.
Three months later......
“I have managed to arrange a meeting with the mayors of Fillidephia and Ponistone county with you.” Rarity said with a bow in front of Princess Celestia.
“Very good. You diplomatic skills have always been a great asset to us.” Celestia replied with a smile.
“If I may your highness...” Rarity said after a moment waiting for approval to continue which she got.
“My skills in magic are just as good as any Class-B unicorn. Why am I here doing this instead of fighting for the freedom of Equestia?” Rarity asked curiously.
“My dear Rarity. While I have no doubt in your skills when it comes to magic. Because of your upbringing I feel you would not be able to handle the traumatic experiences that come with combat. And you do have a younger sister to come back to don't you?” Celestia replied with a smile.
“Yes. But I am worried. I have not received a letter from her since last week and she always sent me one every week like clockwork.” Rarity replied.
“Perhaps the postal ponies ran into trouble. This is a war after all Rarity. As much as i'd like to see it end. I'm not sure it will for some time...now would you be so kind as to direct me to our guests?” Celestia replied at which point Rarity bowed and lead her to the Mayors.
Rarity stood outside as Celestia entered and closed the door however it stood ajar only slightly unknown to anyone in the room.
“I know you want our help Princess but many other towns and cities have already been destroyed from taking your side. What protection can you guarantee us?” The mayor of Fillidephia said as Celestia sat down in her seat.
“We understand your concern. And we are increasing our efforts to protect those who have provided us with aid.” Celestia replied calmly.
“And what of Mareon county?! The town announced it allegiance to you and it's being invaded as we speak!” The Mayor of Ponistone replied.
Upon hearing this Rarity shoved the doors open looking panicked and ran over to the mayor. “What did you say?! Which town?!” Rarity exclaimed shaking the Mayor of Ponistone.
“Gracious me. I said Mareon county.” The mayor replied at which point Rarity's eyes widened and the feelings of worry and fear for her sister,aunt, and uncle's life began to overpower her senses.
Rarity then looked at Celestia for a few moments then ran out the door and leaving it wide open and disappeared in a flash of magic before Celestia could stop her.(Play Sadness and Sorrow now)
Rarity appeared moments later in Mareon county to see it in shambles. Street signs lay scattered about as if they have been ripped from the ground and thrown around.
The homes and businesses along the streets as she walked down it were in shambles only resembling a shadow of what they were. The streets were so quiet it was unsettling. No sounds of hooves moving about. Not even a faint cry for help. It was as if a mute button had been pressed that stretched a crossed the entire town.
Rarity continued to walk down the streets looking about horrified and unable to speak. That is until her aunt and uncles home came into view. Rarity's heart began to race as she began to make a mad dash for the house. Her hooves echoed through out the quiet town as she ran as fast as her hooves would carry her.
Once there, she opened the door slowly with her magic which fell of it's hinges and to the ground startling her. Slowly she stepped inside terrified of what she might discover but that didn't stop her.
The floor creaked and seemed to crack under her hooves with each step she took sometimes her hoof would even fall into the floor where the wood gave way under her weight but she continued to press on.
Rarity took a step forward through the battered home and opened to the door to her sister's bedroom.
Rarity's heart dropped into the pit of her stomach, her eyes widened, tears flooded her eyes, and feeling as if she was frozen in time overwhelmed her as she stared at the scene that beheld her. Diamond lay on the floor legs sprawled out with deep cuts all over her battered body. It wasn't until she saw a leg move weakly she rushed to her little sister's side lifted her up and held her in her hooves.
“R-rarity?” Diamond said weakly her voice raspy and weak as she spoke.
“Yes, it's me Diamond. Oh god. I'm so sorry I wasn't here to protect you...” Rarity said between sobs.
“Y-you came.....just like you promised...” Diamond said between labored breaths with a weak smile however moments later her breathing began to slow.
“Diamond? Little sis? Stay with me! Stay with me now! Don't you die on me!” Rarity exclaimed as Diamond's eyes slowly closed and her head became limp.
Rarity hugged her sister tightly and began to sob loudly as she held her sister.”Oh please no! Don't leave me! NOOO!” Rarity exclaimed between sobs as she rocked her sister back and forth still hugging her tightly. “Somepony help! Somepony help me!” Rarity shouted at the top of her lungs still rocking her sister back and forth.
Memories of the times they had together began to pour into her head in flashes before her eyes as she held her...
FLASHBACK WITHIN RARITY'S MEMORIES PART 1
“Oh come on! Give it back!” Diamond exclaimed annoyed.
“Nope. Not until you let me braid your hair.” Rarity replied with a grin.
Diamond then began to chase her through the yard and even though she was upset the both of them could not help but laugh as Diamond chased her.
PART 2
“What's wrong Diamond?” rarity asked in a concerned tone as she walked into her sisters room to see her crying.
“nopony wants to play with me. I'm ugly.” Diamond replied between sniffs.
“No you're not...come here little sis.” Rarity said with a smile as she took her into her arms and held her.
“You're the most beautiful mare in all of Equestia. And don't let anyone tell you otherwise.” Rarity said with a smile genuinely.
“Y-you mean it?” Diamond replied sniffing still but she had stopped crying at hearing this.
“Of course.” Rarity replied.
“Thanks big sis. I'm so glad you're here.” Diamond replied.
PART 3
Rarity rushed as fast as she could upon hearing her sister's terrified scream and found her hanging from the ledge of a steep cliff. She immediately used her magic to lift her up and set her beside her on safe ground. “Are you okay?! Are you hurt?!” Rarity asked in a concerned panicked tone.
“I'm fine. Thank you sis. I don't want to think of what happened if you weren't here to protect me what would have happened.” Diamond replied finally able to stand on all fours.
“I'll always be here to protect you. That's what being a big sister is. To protect their little sister.” Rarity said with a smile.
END FLASHBACK WITHIN RARITY'S MEMORIES
Rarity continued hold her sister as she put her head against hers. Unable to say anything more as she rocked her she soon set her down softly on the ground before throwing her body over her back. She then carried her sister's body over to the local graveyard and began to dig a hole in the ground with her bare hooves refusing to use magic. Rarity continued to sob loudly as she did this looking at her sister's body then back to the grave she was digging she would do this for another thirty minuets until she dug a hole deep enough to bury her. She then walked over to her sister, lifted her up and held her body as silent tears continued to fall from her eyes but she was no longer crying out as she rocked her back and forth for a little while longer.
“I'm sorry I wasn't there for you Diamond...I'm so sorry....” Rarity said trailing off as her voice cracked and broke as she spoke. She then lifted her up using magic, slowly lowered her into the grave and lay her body down gently into the grave and began to kick the dirt back into the hole. “It's all my fault....i should have taken her with me....if I did....”
END RARITY MEMORIES FLASHBACK
“She would still be alive....” Rarity said aloud finishing the sentence from her memories.
“Rarity?” Sweetie Belle said softly looking at her older sister concerned.
At this she turned and looked at Sweetie Belle and gasped. She resembled her younger sister who was killed down to the letter with the exception of her hair. But even so her voice...and her personalty down to the letter reminded her of her sister. Without warning Rarity ran over to Sweetie Belle and hugged her tightly.
“Now I understand....” Rarity said in a soft tone tears flooding from her eyes as she spoke.
“Understand what?” Sweetie Belle asked curiously.
“It's nothing....it's nothing at all.” Rarity replied with a smile feeling for the first time in her life both before she lost her memories and when she got them back just now she had her little sister back. “Just remind me to thank Celestia from the bottom of my heart for you coming into my life.” Rarity said as she stopped hugging her for a moment, put a hoof under her chin as she spoke, then hugged her again.
“Though i'll never forgive myself for losing you once...but i won't ever let you get hurt ever again...” Rarity thought to herself as she hugged Sweetie Belle.
As Rarity hugged Sweetie Belle Twilight suddenly appeared in the room with Luna at her side only for all the ponies to look at Luna with resentful and loathing looks.
“Move out of the Way Twilight. I don't care if she's you mom or not i'm going to pound you skull into the ground!” Rainbow Dash said rage clearly in her voice as she spoke.
“But it wasn't her!” Twilight exclaimed earning confused looks from everypony except Rainbow Dash who didn't look phased.
“What are you talking about Twilight? Of course it was her!” Rarity exclaimed.
“No! It wasn't! If everypony would just calm down and let me explain!” Twilight exclaimed giving a stern glance at Rainbow Dash.
Rainbow Dash let out an aggravated sigh and then looked at Twilight. “Fine. I'll listen. But only because you're my friend Twilight.” Rainbow Dash said after a few moments and reluctantly turned around and say down a few feet away next to Applejack.
Twilight then began to tell the ponies exactly what Trixie said and what she witnessed with her own eyes. “And that's how I know it wasn't her! It was Trixie who started the war! She knew that my mother was jealous of her but she didn't let that jealously consume her.” Twilight said finishing her explanation.
“But why in the heck didn't she try to explain this when she broke free of the moon then? Tell me that!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed clearly not convinced.
“Because at that time I was not myself. Over the course of one thousand years within the moon allowed Trixie's dark magic to consume me.” Luna spoke up from behind Twilight finally able to stand on her hooves. “I was left with only emotions of anger and jealous towards my sister while I was imprisoned within the moon. Once I was able to free myself I was no longer myself but a mere shadow.” Luna said taking a few weak steps over the the window and looked out towards the moon.
“But when we kicked your flank with the elements of harmony a second time. Wasn't Twi's magic that broke the danged spell on you that made you forget everything?” Applejack asked curiously.
“Yes, but even as my memories came back to me. Trixie's dark magic began to consume me once again. You may have defeated me but her magic endured. It soon took complete control over me again. I fought it at first but only at first. It's dark influence was too strong to resist for long.” Luna said as she turned to face the seven ponies.
“If you really didn't mean to do all this then bring Princess Celestia back!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed at this.
“I can't. When Trixie took her magic back she took away my power to release my sister.” Luna replied getting a scoff from Rainbow Dash.
“It's the truth! Why won't you believe her?” Twilight said looking at Rainbow Dash with an annoyed expression.
“Don't get me wrong Twilight. It's not that her story doesn't fit into place with all this. But I’m not fully convinced.” Rainbow Dash said to Twilight standing up then looked at Luna.
“Lets get one thing strait Luna. I don't trust you. You want my trust then you have you to earn it. And if I so much as catch you even thinking of pulling a fast one on us.” Rainbow Dash said trailing off and raised a hoof to Luna. “You won't need to worry about Trixie because I’ll send you back to the moon the old fashioned way without magic!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed at which point Applejack stood up next to her and placed a hoof on hers.
“She gets the point Dashy. Lighten up a little would ya?” Applejack said rubbing her cheek up against Rainbow Dash's affectionately.
“I know it's not much but I am able to communicate with my sister. I don't know how much I can do in this weakened state but I will do my best.” Luna said and began to concentrate and a few moments later a small purple mist began to float from her horn and swirl in an oval shape until a small mirror appeared within it. Moment later Celestia's face appeared looked very pissed off.
“Come to gloat at me more about your victory little sister?” Celestia said in an annoyed voice and gasped. “You aren't Luna. Your those ponies from before.” Celestia said after a few moments shocked.
It was at this point Twilight walked in front of the mirror so Celestia could see her clearly. “My star pupil. It is nice to see you again but how were you able to contact me?” Celestia said after a few moments with a smile.
“Drop the act Celetsia. We remember everything.” Sweetie Belle said taking a step up beside Twilight.
“Never mind about that. What's got my mane in a knot is why you did this in the first place. Why did you do it?” Sweetie Belle said looking at Celestia with a expression that was full of anger.
“I did what I thought was best for Equestia.” Celestia replied.
“And yet here we are. In the same state yet again. More lives have been lost. I thought you were the wisest of us all Celestia but I guess even you have flaws. The phrase those who do not learn from their past are doomed to repeat it ring a bell any?” Sweetie Belle said in the same angry tone.
“I think she gets the point Sweetie Belle!” Twilight exclaimed in an annoyed tone then looked at Celestia.
“One question I have is why didn't you tell me about my mother?” Twilight asked curiously.
“What do you mean?” Celestia replied looking confused.
It was Twilight's turn to get upset now.” Cut the crap Auntie! I know the truth!” Twilight exclaimed much to Celestia's shock.
“She knows everything my dear sister.” Luna said coming into view now.
Celestia's expression turned into a glare upon seeing her sister. “What kind of magic is this?! Are you messing me with me Luna?!” Celestia exclaimed looking outraged now.
“It's no magic my dear sister. They are all really here right now and they found the book you used to seal away their memories in. We also have something to clear up.” Luna said and began to explain what really happened to her sister.
At this Celestia gave a deep sigh. “I suppose there's no avoiding it now since you all know the truth. However I do not fully believe you Luna. You will have to prove that to me. Release me from this prison.” Celestia said at which point Luna gave a sigh.
“She can't. The magic she was using wasn't hers and it was taken back by Trixie.” Twilight said at this point defending her mother.
“Then you will have to prove your innocence to me little sister. Aid Twilight and her friends in defeating Trixie. Only then will your innocence be proven to me.” Celestia said looking at Luna now.
“I would have even without you asking me to sister. Equestia must be freed from Trixie's hooves.” Luna replied.
“Then we are in agreement.” Celestia said with a stern glace which softened as she looked at the others.
“I am sorry that you all had to go through this. But you must understand. I had a grave choice to make. If everypony had remembered what happened in the war. Those still loyal to Nightmare Moon may have tried to create a war anew. ” Celestia said lowering her head. “But I guess that wasn't the right choice either.” Celestia said and gave a deep sigh.
The image of Celestia began to flicker slightly after this. “I can't hold the connection much longer. I'm still too weak...” Luna said after a few moments in a strained tone as beads of sweat could be seen running down her face as she spoke now.
“We haven't much time so I’ll skip to the point. The elements of harmony are within you all. You must find them within each and everyone of you. Once you have them. You will have to-” Celetsia's face began to flicker even more so now and her voice became distorted as she spoke.
“Damn it! Not now!” Luna exclaimed in a strained voice before falling to her knees at which point the mirror disappeared.
“That was mighty convenient...just when Celestia was about to tell us how to use our here powers to defeat Trixie the mirror goes poof.” Applejack said giving Luna an inquiring look.
“What happened?” Twilight asked looking at Luna.
“What little magic I had left ran out. It will be a while before I can contact her again.” Luna said between labored breaths.
“I don't believe that for a second.” Rainbow Dash said with a glare.
“LAY THE HELL OFF HER!” Twilight's voice boomed as her anger rose to it's breaking point in mere seconds and in the next she shook her head. “Sorry guys. I lost control there.” Twilight said after a few moments realizing she was getting apprehensive looks from everypony.
“It will became even harder to control over time. Spike was the only thing keeping that dark magic of yours in check and without him it's began to consume you as it did me.” Luna said able to stand up now but with great difficulty.
“What in tarnation can we do to stop it from comsumin her?” Applejack asked looking at Luna as all the other ponies were now.
Luna looked to everypony and took a deep breath. “ I don't want to get everypony's hopes up, but there is a lake deep within Everfree forest. It is said to contain the most pure of water. So pure that anypony who drinks it would be purified of any darkness within their heart.” Luna said after a few moments.
“Is this some kind of tricky trick?” Pinkie Pie asked giving Luna a stern glance.
“I don't think so. I also have heard about that lake. But nopony's ever seen it.” Sweetie Belle said much to everypony's shock.
“If you can not trust my words. Then trust in fact I would never do anything to purposely put my daughter in harm's way.” Luna said after a few moments.
“I reckon we have no choice in the matter. But i'm still not up to snuff.” Applejack said bringing the fact she was still injured back to everypony's mind.
“We'll have to wait a few days to Applejack to recover before heading out to the Everfree forest.” Rainbow Dash said to which all the ponies nodded in agreement.
“It will also give time for my mother to recover.” Twilight said looking at Luna with a smile.
“I don't know if that's such a good idea but I guess we really have no choice in the matter do we?” Rarity replied with an annoyed look.(Play My Daughter's Eyes now)
Luna then stepped out of Twilight's house and walked a short distance away from the house only to find Twilight close behind her.
“They don't trust me as far as they could throw me. Not that I could blame them. I did some terrible things to them.” Luna said with a sigh to Twilight.
“But you didn't do anything to them in the war and when you came back you weren't in control of yourself then.” Twilight said at hearing this.
“Yes but still...i can't help but feel guilt for all the things I’ve done. If only was was stronger...i could have fought the dark magic within me more.” Luna replied with a sigh.
“Stop beating yourself up!” Twilight exclaimed looking at Luna sternly.
“But-” “No buts! The past is in the past! Think of what you can do now! If you dwell in the past you'll never be able to overcome it.” Twilight said cutting her mother off.
“I suppose your right....but what can I do? All you're friends hate me.” Luna said after a few moments.
“You'll think of something.” Twilight said with a smile and gave Luna a loving hug.
“So much time lost....but at least I can be with you from now on...” Luna said with a smile even though tears were in her eyes now.
“I love you mom.” Twilight said tears in her eyes now as well still hugging her.
“I love you too Twilight.” Luna replied as they shared a long hug.
“I'll never let the darkness within you take you as it did me..i swear it!” Luna thought to herself as she hugged her daughter.
The moon hung high over the ponies as they sat and waited for Applejack and Luna to recover not knowing what dangers that await them in Everfree forest...
A SISTER'S LOVE....
Each pony too turns keeping watch outside of Twilight's home making sure to keep an eye out for any signs of Trixie or her forces. By the end of the third day Applejack was able to move around normally thanks to Fluttershy's medical knowledge and Luna was fully recovered within a few days time as well. With both ponies fully recovered they made their way towards everfree forest.
“Is it me or does the forest look more creepy than usual?” Twilight remarked looking around herself as they began to walk through it.
“Do you sense it Sweetie Belle?” Luna asked as she looked around herself.
“Yeah...an evil spell has been cast on this forest.” Sweetie Belle replied looking around herself with Pinkie Pie not far behind her.
“That bitch Trixie's work i'll bet...” Rainbow Dash said in a whisper hovering next to Applejack.
“Everypony keep an sharp eye on your surroundings. If Trixie's altered this forest, the smallest vine could be our enemy here.” Luna said making a glance around then back to her daughter who walked at her side.
Without warning Sweetie Belle let out a shriek as she felt something wrap around her hind legs and yank her to the ground and begin to drag her. Before anypony could do anything Rarity appeared a next to Sweetie Belle as she was being dragged and used her horn to snap the vine from her legs then proceeded to use her magic to set it on fire much to everypony's shock. “Touch her again and I’ll incinerate you next time!” Rarity exclaimed fiercely at the vine as it slunk into the shadows.
“Wow...umm...y'all think setting it on fire was necessary thar?” Applejack asked apprehensively.
“Of course it was. No one touches my little sister and get away with it.” Rarity replied and walked over to Sweetie Belle. “Are you okay? Are you hurt?” Rarity asked in a worried tone as Sweetie Belle got to her hooves.
“Yeah, i'm fine.” Sweetie Belle replied with a smile although she was slightly curious as to what caused Rarity to take such an aggressive action to protect her.
The eight ponies made their way deeper into the forest warding off several vines along the way and soon found themselves in a small clearing.
“Does anypony have a clue as to where this lake actually is?” Rainbow Dash asked curiously.
“Maybe no pony does...but I think a certain zebra might....” Twilight replied and lead the ponies to the right of the clearing towards Zecora's home.
Once there Twilight knocked on her door but got no answer. “Oh come the heck on! She never leaves this house except like once a month!” Twilight exclaimed irritably.
“Calm down there Twi. Maybe she's just out for a night stroll?” Applejack suggested curiously.
“No! I know she's in here!” Twilight exclaimed and used her magic to blast the door down.
“What in the world are you doing Twilight? Have you no regard for those trying to get some sleep this night?” Zecora asked in an annoyed tone however one look at Twilight made her gasp.
“That was abit over the top Twilight.” Luna remarked in a stern manner however Twilight wasn't listening.
“Where is this lake Zecora? I know you know!” Twilight exclaimed as her horn and eyes began to glow darkly.
“Twilight be mindful of your actions and words you speak! The dark magic within you is nearing it's peak!” Zecora exclaimed in a panicked yet worried tone.
“Don't make me repeat myself!” Twilight roared as a surge of dark magic erupted from her being knocking everypony and Zecora away from her.
“Somepony must subdue her now! Or her quest will end without even a bow!” Zecora exclaimed in a fearful tone.
Luna was first to her hooves and the first to begin casting a spell on Twilight however Twilight's dark magic repelled the spell at which point Twilight turned to face her mother. “You want to stop me from finding out where this lake is? Maybe the others were right and your just waiting to betray us!” Twilight's voice boomed as dark magic began to surge through her body ejecting sparks of dark magic from every part of her body practically.
“Twilight, please listen to me! The dark magic is trying to overpower you!” Luna exclaimed in a worried tone as she looked at her daughter.
“This is goin to hell in a hand basket mighty fast! I reckon if somepony don't do something soon we won't be able to help her!” Applejack exclaimed over the loud sparks of dark magic that were flinging from Twilight now.
At this point Sweetie Belle and Pinkie Pie combined forms in a flash of magic and began to cast the same spell they cast before to calm the magic around Twilight at which point Twilight's gaze shifted to Pinkie Pie. “You're against me too?! You're all working for Trixie aren't you?!” Twilight's voice boomed as the dark magic around her began to form a dark orb of magic around her repelling Pinkie Pie's spell.
“Oh this can't be good....” Rarity said with a fearful expression as Twilight began to float off the ground with the dark orb of magic around her becoming larger by the second.
“Enough!!!!” Luna's voice boomed in the same tone as Twilight's as blue magic erupted from her horn striking Twilight sending her flying into a tree, knocked her out cold, and slowly lowered her to the ground in front of them.
“What did you do to her?!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed in shock.
“I hit her with a powerful stun spell. I may have overdone it a bit but I wasn't going to take any chances of her dark magic repelling it.” Luna replied in a calm tone.
“Is she going to be alright?” Fluttershy asked in a concerned tone.
“She'll be fine. She should wake up in a couple hours.” Luna replied with a gentle smile.
“Twilight got a spankin from her mama for throwin a tantrum.” Applejack said in a joking manner trying to earn a laugh from the ponies and succeeded in doing so much to her relief.
“I suppose that's one way to subdue the darkness when it's at it's peak . But now more importantly this lake you speak.” Zecora said suddenly causing everypony to look at her. “You speak of the lake of purity I assume. However due to the change in the forest the journey could spell certain doom.” Zecora said after a few moments.
“Please Tell us where it is Zecora. We have to know or Twilight doesn't stand a chance.” Pinkie Pie replied to this and in the next moment they revealed their separate forms in a flash of pink magic.
“Far you must go to the west. There you're true abilities will be put to the test.” Zecora replied.
“Thanks Zecora.” Sweetie Belle replied with a smile.
“One more thing I must must speak. Stay true to your element even when things look most bleak.” Zecora said looking at each pony then turned and went inside.
The ponies then proceeded to leave Zecora with Luna carrying Twilight on her back.
“What y'all reckon Zecora meant by our true abilities being put to the test?” Applejack asked curiously.
“I haven't the slightest darling, but if I went out on a hoof i'd assume that the area surrounding the lake is very dangerous.” Rarity replied as they walked along the path which was lined with brushes and odd looking flowers. To the left side of them they could see a steep cliff making the ponies all the more nervous as they walked it.
“Watch you footing y'all. You wouldn’t want to slip and-whoooaaaaaaaa neelllllly!!” Applejack exclaimed having been cut off mid sentence by a vine yanking her over the side and plummeting.
“I got ya Applejack!” Rainbow Dash shouted as she took off after her.
Moments every other pony with the exception of Luna thanks to her swift use of magic was also flung off the side of the cliff. Rainbow Dash looked up to her horror as flashbacks of seeing her fellow friends falling to their deaths came rushing to her head sending her into a panic. “No! Not again!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed holding her head having stopped mid-air for a moment before she jolted her eyes open and narrowed them.

“Never again....I WILL NOT watch my friends die before my eyes again!!!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed as she speed with all her might towards Applejack. Unknown to even Rainbow Dash at first an golden necklace began to appear around her neck that wore the emblem of a lightning bolt on it in a soft glow. It wasn't till moments moments later glowed brightly in a blinding light that she finally noticed something. Something she felt only once before. The rush of magic and power she felt within herself the day her and her friends defeated Nightmare Moon. Rainbow Dash embraced this power without thinking at which point the light enveloped her in a flash. When the magic faded Rainbow was covered in a suit of armor brazen with rainbows,clouds, and lightning as she sped down at Applejack in a flash. It was as if time itself had slowed down for her as she set Applejack down to safety and rushed down to get the others. One by one she had rushed to them picked them up and set them down to safety until finally only Fluttershy remained. Looking back down she saw that Fluttershy's wings had been bound by another vine and she was once again in a state of horror however instead of being quiet as she was last time she was shrieking out in terror the jagged ground below on mere feet away now.
Rainbow Dash flew down as fast as her wings would carry her caught up to Fluttershy and unbound her wings with a single yank on them from her mouth. Fluttershy's wings sprung open mere seconds before she hit the ground allowing her to lift off the ground with so much as a hoof touching it to give herself a push. Once back on safe ground the others looked at Rainbow Dash in shock and awe.
“Oh, yeah! I'm awesome! I just saved all of you from plummeting to your deaths! Go Dash,Go Dash, It's your birthday!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed doing a moonwalk along with a few other gestures of strutting her stuff.
“It's not only that. Look at yourself.” Sweetie Belle said causing Rainbow Dash to give a decent look at herself.
“Whoa! What's with the outfit?!” Rainbow Dash asked in shock.
“It looks more like armor....from ancient pony times.” Luna remarked tapping a hoof on it which gave off a soft clang as she did so.
“But it feels light a feather. Isn't armor supposed to be heavy? And how did I get this suit of armor anyways?” Rainbow Dash asked curiously.
“Not all armor crafted was crafted to be heavy Rainbow Dash and well judging by the pattern. I'd say this represents your element.” Luna replied with a thoughtful glance.
“My element? You mean the element I represent as one of the elements of harmony?” Rainbow Dash asked curiously.
“If that's true then ah reckon you must have done or thought somethin to activate one of it's hidden powers.” Applejack said after a few moments.
“Not hidden Applejack....it's true power.” Luna stated simply earning a look of shock from everypony.
“Does this honestly surprise you all? The elements of harmony are after all the greatest magic in all of ponydom.” Luna said after a few moments when no pony could speak it seemed.
“I suppose it shouldn't, but it does all the same.” Rarity replied finally breaking the silence among the ponies.
“How do I get it off anyways?” Rainbow Dash asked curiously. As if answering her question the armor began to glow brightly and faded away leaving only her necklace with the bolt shaped gem in it.
“So let me get this strait. The elements of harmony we representin here are the key to unlocking their true power?” Applejack asked curiously.
“I haven't the foggiest Applejack. I've only witnessed it's power twice or do you not recall both times?” Luna said flashing an annoyed look.
“So how can you be sure that what just happened to Rainbow is her elements true power?” Sweetie Belle asked curiously.
“Oh,oh,oh! I know! I'll throw a bunch of parties! That'll get us our element right?!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed jumping around.
“I doubt it Pinkie Pie...if I recall correctly our element is laughter.” Sweetie Belle replied with an eye roll.
“You know little sis..i didn't want to say anything till now but....” Rarity said giving a look at Pinkie Pie and then to Sweetie Belle. “Pinkie Pie got her element even before you two knew you were the same pony.” she said giving a uneasy look.
“Your point?” Sweetie Belle asked in an annoyed tone even though she had a good idea where she was going with this.
“What i'm trying to say is...” Rarity replied trailing off as if trying to figure out how to word what she was about to say as tactfully as possible. “The element of Laughter is Pinkie Pie's, not yours” Rarity said in the kindest tone she could muster however this didn't lighten the blow any.
Rarity's words felt like a sharp knife had been stabbed into her gut as Sweetie Belle's eyes swelled up in tears. “You don't think I don't know that?” Sweetie Belle replied in a hurt yet pouty tone.
“I didn't mean for it to sound so harsh....” Rarity began to say only to trail off.
“Well you failed miserably! I know I don't represent any element of harmony! Hell I’m not even a pony! All I am is the end result of Selena's magic finding a will of it's own to survive!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed angrily yet tears of pain could still be seen flooding from her eyes as she shouted this.
“Don't say things like that! You are a real pony. And my little sister!” Rarity replied tears now swelling in her eyes as well.
“Oh give me a break! You don't think I don't know the truth?! You told Selena after the war ended that you had lost your little sister! She was dead! And you know it!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed much to everypony's shock and horror.
It was Rarity's turn to feel as if she had been stabbed in the gut now. “My little sister may be dead but Celestia gave me you! And i'll be damned if let another sister of mine get hurt!” Rarity retorted as tears flooded her eyes now.
“I'm not your little sister! I'm just a bunch of magic that turned itself into some pony!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed then gasped at the sudden realization of what she said looking at Rarity's hurt expression.
“That's how it's going to be then....?” Rarity said after a few moments feelings of pain and anger surging through her.
“Rarity...i....” Sweetie Belle began to say but her words faltered.
“If's that's how you truly feel...then be gone with you!” Rarity exclaimed angrily leaving Sweetie Belle wide-eyed in shock.
“F-Fine!” Sweetie Belle retorted in the same angry tone,turned and ran off into the woods.
“Sweetie Belle! Hold up a sec! You can't go! What about me?!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed looking in the direction Sweetie Belle ran off in.
“Now you gone and done it! Rarity you hot-head! Sweetie Belle may not be your blood sister but ah reckon she's as close to your living sister as you will ever get!” Applejack exclaimed in angrily.
“Ohh.....what in the heck is going on?” Twilight's voice spoke up causing everypony to forget what just happened if only for a moment as Twilight got off Luna's back and to all fours.
“This hot-headed unicorn over here just told Sweetie Belle to run off!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed.
“Huh? But I....WHAT?!” Twilight exclaimed in confusion at first then shock in a similar fashion they could recall from when Twilight found out that the doozey hadn't happened yet just before she accepted Pinkie pie's strange behavior as the normal.
“She wants to treat me like that after all I’ve done for her then she can go rot for all I care.” Rarity said in a huffy manner only to get bitch-slapped by Twilight much to everypony's shock.
“Rarity, you foal! Sweetie Belle may act older because of her being apart of Pinkie Pie but she is still just a young filly! Do you realize what she is going through right now?! She confused and scared! She just recently found out she was the product of Selena's magic having a will of it's own! Even though that may be true she IS a living breathing young filly! Why do you think Celestia gave her to you to protect?! She gave you your little sister back and how do you repay her? By sending her off to her death?!” Twilight exclaimed at the top of her lungs in a angry yet compassionate manner.
Rarity didn't know if it was the slap or the full blown lecture or a combination of the two but either way her senses had come back to her. “Dear Celestia........what have I done?” Rarity said aloud in a shocked and horrified voice, turned around and ran in the direction that Sweetie Belle went calling her name.
“How did you know about that before we did?” Rainbow Dash asked after a few moments.
“Umm...i think we should follow them....that is...if you all think that's a good idea.” Fluttershy said out of the blue at which point the ponies exchanged panicked glances.
Meanwhile Sweetie Belle was making her way through the forest sobbing silently until a sudden rustling made her jump. “H-hello?” Sweetie Belle asked in a scared tone. The sudden realization coming to her that she was very alone having left Pinkie Pie behind she had no way to defend herself if she was attacked right now. Despite her vast knowledge of magic and her past she couldn't help but feel scared as she looked around herself.
Sweetie Belle backed away as the rustling became louder the fear in her becoming stronger by the second. In the next moment the rustling bushes revealed what looked to be a pack of wolves.
“Well,well,well...what do we have here Becky?” One wolf said with a malicious grin. Judging by the voice this one was male looking behind himself clearly asking the wolf behind him.
“It looks like a young filly in our territory Merch....what do you think willy?” Becky asked looking behind herself to another wolf who wore a crazed expression.
Willy however didn't seem to make a response and simply laughed hysterically.
“Looks like trespasser!” Merch exclaimed earning a scared yelp from Sweetie Belle as she fell onto her rump as Merch lunged his head at her but didn't take a bite.
“I-I didn't mean to...i'll be going now...” Sweetie Belle replied in a scared tone and began to trot away only to get a paw stomped on her tail stopping her mid step which made her fall to her face.
“Wait,wait....I know you. You're that young filly who hangs out with those six ponies Trixie is after....” Becky said with a grin.
“Didn't Trixie offer a reward to anyone who could get rid of them?” Merch asked as the three wolves were now pacing around her.
“Why, yes I think she did....didn't she willy?” Becky asked looking at willy who simply laughed hysterically once again.
“Looks like filly is on the mane menu!” Merch said with a laugh. Looking at Becky now.
“Wait! I got one! I'll take menu item number foal!” Becky chimed in as they both laughed at their own bad puns until Willy began to jump between them making an urgent gesture in a direction.
“What willy?!” Becky exclaimed annoyed.
“Did we order this meal to go?” Merch asked suddenly looking in the direction Willy was pointing.
“No why?” Becky replied in a confused manner.
Sweetie Belle managed to make some distance between her and the wolves but they were catching up quickly to her. “No matter how much I don't want to admit it.....” Sweetie Belle thought to herself as she continued to run through bushes. “I'm just a young filly! And I’m scared! I don't want to die!” Sweetie Belle thought to herself fearfully. As she climbed a hill dodging a snap from one of the wolves jaws barely letting out a fearful scream as she looked behind herself to see the wolves just behind her now.
Sweetie Belle gave a quick buck behind herself as she managed to make it to the top of the hill hitting Becky squarely a crossed the face but the wolf seemed to be merely briefly stunned giving a low growl as she resumed running after her.
Sweetie Belle continued to run frantically until she ran face first into a wall and gave a sudden gasp as she turned around to see all three wolves now walking towards her. “End of the line filly...” Becky said with a growl.
“I-I'll cast a spell on you!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed and began to concentrate with all her might to try and cast a spell making the wolves stop in their tracks. Without Pinkie pie close by however she only managed a mere spark that feebly fell to the ground in front of her.
“That's it?! Come on try again!” Merch jeered with a laugh.
Sweetie Belle began to concentrate once again however this time Merch found himself catapulted to the sky much to to Becky and Willy's shock. In the next moment Rarity appeared jumping in front of Sweetie Belle. “I'm here Diamond!” Rarity exclaimed without thinking looking at the two other wolves as they paced back and forth.
“She called me Diamond.......” Sweetie Belle thought to herself then it became clear. She must look exactly like her little sister did or at least similar. No wonder Rarity hugged her so much after she got her memories back. Her words made perfect sense now.
“You caught us off guard but this time we got you!” Becky exclaimed and lunged at Rarity with Willy close to follow the two wolves however found themselves stopped mid-leap mere inches from Rarity suspended by magic.
“I don't know who you are.....or who you work for....but nothing...and I mean NOTHING harms my little sister!” Rarity exclaimed and with a burst of magic catapulted both wolves away from her deep into the forest.
Sweetie Belle immediately after seeing this ran to her sister and hugged her front legs as she began to sob loudly. “I'm so sorry I said those things! I didn't mean them!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed between sobs.
Rarity looked down with a soft expression on face as she smiled placing a hoof over her. “I know you didn't. And I’m sorry I said those things to you. I was such a foal for treating you like that. You're going through so much and I can't even begin to imagine what it's like for you. But we will get through it...together.” Rarity said with a smile lowering her head now and placing it on her shoulder. “I love you little sis...and I’ll always be here to protect you...I promise.” Rarity said as a tears shed from her eyes.
“I guess...I’m just a helpless young filly after all....” Sweetie Belle said after a few moments.
“A young filly perhaps. But not helpless. You are smart and wise beyond your years and that's a skill no pony should ever disregard.” Rarity replied still hugging her.
“The only reason for that is....” Sweetie Belle began to say by Rarity hushed her gently with a hoof. “It does not matter how you came to be...what matters now is that your alive and what you do with the life you've been given.” Rarity replied with a smile looking into Sweetie Belle's eyes.
Sweetie Belle dug her face into her big sisters shoulder sobbing loudly as Rarity patted her on the back gently and rubbed her back giving her a shoulder and a mane to cry on. “That's it...let it all out. So much pain you've kept bottled up for so long. I don't know how you managed to keep it locked up for so long...” Rarity said softly.
Moments later the others could be heard galloping in their direction calling out Rarity's and Sweetie Belle's name.
“We're over here Twilight!” Rarity called out and moments later the six ponies filed in a line and stopped short at the sight of Sweetie Belle sobbing into Rarity's shoulder and mane.
Pinkie Pie looked at Sweetie Belle about to lecture her based on what she told her not so long ago but stopped herself at the sight of Sweetie Belle sobbing into Rarity's shoulder and mane. She couldn't bring herself to do it. Being the other half of Sweetie Belle she knew how much pain she was in, no matter how much Sweetie Belle tried to shield that part of her thoughts from her. And now seeing her crying like this, that scar deep within her heart the scar that she too felt from the day they were split apart, was finally beginning to heal if only slowly, it was healing now. Pinkie Pie knew it wouldn't happen over night but she knew from this moment on there was a faint rift between them now. This rift is what made them individual ponies. With a smile and a sigh Pinkie Pie shut her mind off to Sweetie Belle's thoughts. “We're not the same filly anymore....I have no right to venture into your mind any longer.” Pinkie Pie thought to herself with a smile beaming with pride for her other half. “You did it...” Pinkie Pie said aloud with tears of happiness in her eyes.
Sweetie Belle tore herself from Rarity's shoulder at these words puffy-eyed. “Did what?” Sweetie Belle asked between sniffs then gave a gasp. “Pinkie Pie...what have you done?!” Sweetie Belle asked in a shocked tone.
“What did she do?” Rarity asked in confusion.
“Why did you do it? How can we communicate anymore?!” Sweetie belle exclaimed still sniffing.
“Sweetie Belle. You knew this day would come one day. And I am so happy for you!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed with a smile.
“Would somepony explain to meh what in the hay is goin on?” Applejack asked in a confused tone.
“Sweetie Belle has become her own pony. We are no longer the same pony anymore.” Pinkie Pie said with a smile.
“It means that Sweetie Belle has finally accepted her own existence. She can now grow on her own and even use magic without Pinkie Pie's help eventually.” Luna spoke up much to everypony's surprise.
“But if they are not the same pony anymore...just what did Pinkie Pie do?” Twilight asked confused as everypony else was.
“She severed our connection...” Sweetie Belle said after a brief silence earning shocked gasps from everypony.
“But then what about your combined form?” Rarity asked after a few more moments of silence.
“It's no more.....” Sweetie Belle replied earning even more shocked gasps.
“Pinkie Pie, why would you do that?! Your combined form was our ace in the hole against Trixie!” Twilight asked in a shocked tone.
“I did what I thought was best for the both of us. If we remained connected Sweetie Belle may have begun to doubt herself again. And I couldn't let that happen. Not when she was finally feeling true happiness for herself as a pony.” Pinkie Pie said with a smile.
“But Pinkie Pie. How could you do that to us? What about our past?!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed.
“Selena died the day her horn was removed. You and me both know this. However on that day we were born from her death. Celestia knew this. That's why she separated us like she did. But her memory will forever live on inside of us. In a way she is our mother.” Pinkie Pie replied with a smile.
Twilight had no idea which was more shocking. The fact that Pinkie Pie had in fact permanently severed their connection or the fact that she was being completely serious for more than five minuets!
“That's a crude way to put it...but it does make sense.” Sweetie Belle replied after a few moments.
“If you could cut the connection at anytime then why didn't you do it sooner?” Rarity asked giving Pinkie Pie a glare.
“If I had severed it any sooner than now she would have ended up poofing from existence completely. It's complicated but umm....hmm....i don't know how describe it really. My brain has gone cupcakes all the sudden!” Pinkie pie exclaimed with a smile.
“oh that's just great! Now she goes off the deep end when she's about to get to the good part!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed then shook her head. “That was weird....suddenly I feel like I did before I got my memories back.” Sweetie Belle said after a few moments.
“What's happening to them mom?” Twilight asked looking to Luna.
“I'm guessing that their connection is what gave them a linked personalty. Without that connection their souls are resetting themselves to the point before their memories returned.” Luna explained.
“Y'all got an explanation in that thar infinite knowledge of yours to fill in for Pinkie Pie's words that were suddenly cut off.” Applejack asked curiously.
“Don't patronize me Applejack. I can only speculate but if I went out on a hoof I would venture to guess that Sweetie Belle's existence was unstable and their magical connection is what kept her alive. When she accepted herself as a pony a magical spark occurred within her that gave her body a will and a soul of it's own to exist. This brand of magic is foreign to me even though I studied it for a little while before the the war began.” Luna said flashing a glare at Applejack as she spoke.
“That's about right in a nutshell!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed hopping around Rarity and Sweetie Belle now.
“So if Pinkie Pie and Sweetie Belle are two different ponies now does that mean that we need to get Sweetie Belle somewhere safe?” Rainbow Dash asked curiously.
“Out of the question Rainbow!” Rarity exclaimed standing up. “Sweetie Belle may be reverting to who she was before her memories returned but her magical knowledge remains and not to mention I refuse to leave my little sister behind again.” Rarity said giving Rainbow Dash a piercing stare.
“Forget it I mentioned it then....” Rainbow Dash replied with an uneasy look and tone to match it.
Sweetie Belle looked at Pinkie Pie then back to Rarity then back to Pinkie Pie. “I'm scared though...for the first time in my life I feel alone..i don't know if I can do this.” Sweetie Belle said after a few moments causing Pinkie Pie to stop hopping around and look at her.
“Don't you worry you little head about it Sweetie Belle! You'll figure it out! Besides you've got your big sister to protect you!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed with a smile.
“Yeah...but.....” Sweetie Belle replied looking unsure of herself.
“No buts. You're your own pony now. Besides you got all of us as your friends!” Pinkie Pie said with a smile.
“I guess your right.” Sweetie Belle replied with a smile.
“I think we should get moving though. Who knows when those wolves will be back and they may come in greater numbers....” Rarity said with a look of unease on her face as she stood up.
However just after saying this many howls could be heard and in mere seconds Becky,Merch, and Willy were back with a lot more of their friends.
“How many of them are there?” Twilight asked fearfully looking about herself.
“I reckon somewhere in the hundreds....whelp it was nice knowin y'all.....” Applejack replied in the same fearful tone.
However much to everypony's shock Fluttershy stepped up with a soft expression on her face. “Now come on...is this anyway to treat others? Why don't you just go back and leave us alone.” Fluttershy said in her kindest voice only to get a roaring laughter from the wolves.
“We aren't some little bunny rabbit you can tell what to do. Trixie has promised our entire pack a town to call our own if we get rid of you.” Merch said with a grin.
“Do I need to remind you who you're dealing with?” Rarity said taking a step forward.
“And how quickly can you cast a spell to get rid of all of us at once? Even with all three of you unicorns you can save everyone....” Becky replied to this with a malicious grin.
“I am Princess Luna. Sister to Princess Celestia and ruler over the night skies of Equestria. I order you all to leave us at once!” Luna exclaimed taking a step forward now.
“You ain't calling the shots anymore princess.” Merch replied with a sneer.
“Now she tries to assert her authority....” Rainbow Dash said under her breath with an eyeroll.
“This all my fault....if I hadn't run off this would have never happened.” Sweetie Belle said griping Rarity's right leg as she quivered in fear.
“Don't go blaming yourself Sweetie Belle. It wasn't your fault. It was mine for telling to you run off like I did.” Rarity replied to this.
“Can y'all decide who's to blame after we get out of this with our flanks intact?!” Applejack exclaimed in part annoyed and part panicked tone.
“It's dinner time!” Merch exclaimed at which point all the wolves charged in at once.
Sweetie Belle looked to everypony who was ready to fight to the death if need be and felt herself filled with a strong feeling of courage.“I won't let you hurt my friends!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed at the top of her lungs suddenly lunging in front of everypony as her horn glowed brightly still in the air.
At first nothing seemed to happen but then the glowing intensified and in the next moment all the pony looked on in shock and awe as Sweetie Belle's horn began to emit waves of pure white magic still in the mid-air as if the magic itself was holding her up.
“That's it Sweetie Belle.....go for it! Show everypony what you can do!” Pinkie Pie thought to herself proudly watching Sweetie Belle's display of magical power.
With each wave of magic that shot forth the wolves who were charging forward found themselves being repelled backward with each wave of magic that hit them. Becky,Merch, and Willy however seemed to be strong enough to stand their ground and even took steps towards the ponies even if it was at a slow pace.
“What's with the filly?! She couldn't even muster a spell a few moments ago and now she's pushing our back back like a bunch of wolf pups!” Merch asked as he took another step forward grunting against the wave of magic as it hit him but didn't budge.
“I don't know, but I know how to stop it!” Becky exclaimed lunging at Sweetie Belle.
Everypony gave a shocked gasp of horror as Becky's claw neared Sweetie Belle's throat however Rarity teleported herself directly in front of Sweetie Belle taking the claw head on as it gashed her side wide open. (Play My Immortal now)
“Rarity!” Everypony shouted in horror except for Sweetie Belle who looked on in horror no longer casting her spell as she watched as if in slow motion as the claw dug into Rarity's side and she gave a shrill cry of pain as she fell to the ground.
“R-Rarity......big sis?” Sweetie Belle asked in a scared tone however Rarity did not reply as blood began to pool under her.
Becky gave Rarity a glance then back to Sweetie Belle. “They are sisters?” Becky asked aloud in shock if only for a moment then looked at Sweetie Belle who had seemingly forgotten she was even there now holding Rarity the best she could despite her size.
“Big sis. Say something! Come on! You can't leave me!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed as she shook her sister.
“What's your deal Becky?! Kill the filly!” Merch exclaimed in annoyance however Becky seemingly was frozen in place as if she had been turned to stone as she looked at Sweetie Belle holding Rarity sobbing loudly shouting her name.
“Big sis! Answer me please! You can't die on me! Not now! Not ever!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed between sobs.
Rarity's eyes fluttered open as she gave a weak smile at Sweetie Belle. “You're safe..... thank Celestia....” Rarity said weakly.
Fluttershy looked on tears in her eyes at this sight that beheld her. “No.....she can't lose her...not now.....not after everything she's been through....” Fluttershy said quietly to herself unknown to anypony.
“Big Sis....stay with me now.....” Sweetie Belle said tears still flooding from her eyes.
“I'm afraid I don't know if I can Diamond....” Rarity replied weakly.
“If you're just going to stand there like a dumb mutt i'll do it!” Merch exclaimed lunging forward however much to his and everypony's shock Becky stood between Sweetie Belle and Merch.
“What the hell is you're deal Becky?!” Merch asked in a pissed off tone.
“We're done here.” Becky said simply.
“Done? You can't be serious! We get rid of these fillies and we got a whole town to ourselves!” Merch exclaimed.
“Go on if you want then. But I’m done. I've got enough guilt weighing on my conscious and I refuse to add anymore.
Merch gave a look past Becky to Sweetie Belle then back to Becky and gave a look as if he understood. “I can't believe this.” Merch said putting a paw on his forehead in annoyance.
Becky gave one last fleeting glance at Sweetie Belle and Rarity before she walked away.
Merch looked back to the ponies then back to Becky then back to the ponies. “Ugh! Blast me for a fool!” Merch exclaimed in frustration then turned to the pack of wolves. “Lets move out!” Merch exclaimed at the top of his lungs as he began to walk away as did the rest of the pack of wolves.
“What in the hay just happened?” Applejack asked clearly confused by what she was seeing at which point Merch turned a head in there direction.
“My mate had a sudden stroke of conscious. I suggest you get out of this forest. There are thing far worse than us in this forest.” Merch said then turned his head and began to walk away along with the other wolves.
“Big sis......please.....you can't....” Sweetie Belle said between sobs.
“I'm sorry Diamond.....sorry I couldn't protect you so many years ago...” Rarity said in a weak tone as her voice seemed to be growing weaker with each word she spoke.
“Don't talk like this! Fluttershy can't you do anything?!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed looking at Fluttershy.
“I....wish I could...but the wound is too deep....” Fluttershy said in a saddened tone as tears streamed from her eyes.
“No! There must be something somepony can do! Twilight, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Luna?! Can't any of you do anything?!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed tears in her eyes looking to each pony who each wore tears of sorrow in their faces.
“Listen.....Diamond....you...have....a beautiful heart......don't let anypony ever tell you different....” Rarity said in a weak voice and a few moments later her eyes fluttered shut and her breathing began to slow.
Sweetie Belle's eyes grew wide as tears continued to flood from them as she looked at her big sister's breathing slow and come to a halt. “R-Rarity? Big sister? Nooooo! Don't leave me!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed sobbing loudly now as she hugged Rarity tightly as ever.
A faint glow appeared above Rarity and Sweetie Belle unknown to her until it glowed brightly enough that it was revealed to be Rarity's necklace she wore as one of the Elements of harmony. Sweetie looked up tears still in her eyes as the necklace floated down toward her and in a flash of bright light appeared around her neck.
“Wh-what's this?” Sweetie Belle asked between sobs.
“That is Rarity's necklace she wore as an element of harmony. She must have willed for it to pass onto you before....” Luna said trailing off.
Sweetie Belle looked at the necklace then back to Rarity who lay lifeless now. “How can I go on now....without her.....she said she would always be there to protect me...” Sweetie Belle said still sobbing.
“And part of her always will...” Fluttershy said putting her front right leg around Sweetie Belle and held her close. “That necklace you wear is her final gift to you.” Rarity said trying her best to now break down into a sob like Sweetie Belle was.
“I-I'll...make you proud big sis...” Sweetie Belle said between sobs.
Fluttershy however couldn't hold back any longer and wrapped her head around Sweetie Belle sobbing loudly as she was.
The ponies spent the remainder of that day finding a suitable spot to bury Rarity and once she was buried they spent the rest of it consoling each other as they shared their grief for having lost a true friend.
The grave stone Twilight had built for her read:

“Are you sure this is the right thing to do?” A colt asked looking at another in a lab coat.
“We must do this. All of equestria must forget this war ever happened. It is for the best.” The pony in a lab coat said and walked over to a switch preparing to flip it.
“And what of this one? We caught her sneaking in.” The colt said motioning over to a pink pony who's flank brandished balloons and a horn on her head who lay unconscious.
“If her magic is strong enough to get past our barriers, her magic is powerful indeed and will be immune to this. We must remove her horn.” The colt in the lab coat said.
“Y-you can't be serious?! To remove a unicorn's horn is like striping apart of who they are!” The colt replied shocked.
“If we want to reset equestria to the state it was before this war happened...we must ensure all ponies can not remember what happened.” The colt in the lab coat replied approaching the unconscious mare.
The colt in the lab coat then proceeded to walk to a cabinet,took out a oddly shaped device and placed it on the filly's horn. “I'm sorry. But this must be done.” The colt in the lab coat said as he pressed the button on the oddly shaped device.
The mare's eyes shot open as the device activated and let out a ear piercing pained scream as the device glowed brightly.
At this exact moment pinkie pie shot up from a dead sleep and immediately put her hooves on her head to feel around. Once again she woke up with beads of sweat running down her face and breathing heavily.
“Pinkie pie, are you okay?” Twilight's asked causing her to turn and see Twilight sitting next to her. “ I saw you tossing and turning in your sleep. Did you have a bad dream?” Twilight asked in a concerned tone.
“You could say that....” Pinkie replied standing up.
“Oh, I just noticed. You're hair isn't all frizzy and puffy like it usually is. It looks nice like that.” Twilight replied remarked with a smile.
Pinkie Pie then began to stretch and her hair suddenly poofed out to it's normal frizzy and poofy appearance.
“Oh wow. How do you always manage to do that? It is some sort of magic?” Twilight asked curiously.
“What? My hair? It's done that every since I saw Rainbow Dash's rainboom!” Pinkie pie replied and began to hop around.
“I don't get how y'all can be so cheery right now Pinkie... right now we are up to our necks in deep horse manure.” Applejack said in a sleepy tone as she began to wake up.
“That's always been how Pinkie Pie has been. You of all ponies should know this full well Applejack.” Rainbow dash spoke up as she began to wake up herself.
“Y'all be best keepin your trap shut about my past ya hear?” Applejack replied in an annoyed tone.
“Oh lay off. In a town full of mostly fillies it's not so surprising you know.” Rainbow Dash replied with a smirk.
Twilight was absolutely clueless as to why Applejack was getting all huffy and why rainbow Dash was getting such a kick out of this.
“I said keep y'all trap shut, ya hear?!” Applejack said getting pissed off now as she locked heads with Rainbow Dash shoving her head forward.
“And I said there's nothing wrong with it!” Rainbow Dash retorted shoving back.
“Would you two keep it down! Somepony is trying to sleep here!” Fluttershy's voice erupted from nowhere sounding nothing like her usual quiet tone and more like how she sounded at the Grand Galloping gala causing everypony to look at her in shock including Rarity who's head shot up looking slack-jawed. “I mean....if you don't mind...” She said after a moment resuming her whispering tone.
This chain of events completely shoved the subject of Pinkie Pie's dream from Twilight's head until everyone quieted down.
“Pinkie. Are these dreams you've been having been what's causing you to not be your usual cheery self?” Twilight asked curiously which caused Pinkie to stop hopping around.
“I guess so...” Pinkie Pie replied in a depressed tone.
“Well, maybe we can talk about them?” Twilight replied with a smile.
“I'd rather not....” Pinkie replied backing away a bit.
“Alright. Whenever you're ready. You can talk to me anytime.” Twilight replied then turned to everypony who appeared to be awake now.
“So this is where you are. I had hoped I would not have to search far.” Came a voice that sounded familiar to the ponies.
“Zecora? How did you find us?” Twilight asked curiously.
“How I found you is not the issue at the moment. Nightmare Moon is going to bring a world of torment. You ponies must not only harness the elements of harmony this time to save this world you want to protect. You must also embrace the attributes which you neglect.” Zecora replied.
“What in tarnation do you mean by that?” Applejack chimed in just as confused.
“Applejack, you must learn to accept who you are. If you do not do this, you will not make it far.” Zecora said looking at Applejack then turned to Rainbow Dash.
“Rainbow Dash, You must learn to swallow your pride. Otherwise you will watch you friends die when they needed you at their side.” Zecora said and turned to Fluttershy.
“Fluttershy, you must learn to be confident in your own abilities. Otherwise you're friends will suffer from your disability.” Zecora said and turned to Pinkie Pie.
“Pinkie Pie, you must trust in what your dreams tell you. They will be the key to unlocking the power deep within you and give you're friends an edge against Nightmare Moon too.” Zecora said and then turned to Twilight.
“Twilight Sparkle, Your past is something you must learn. It's the one thing that you know your heart yearns. You must also master the darkness within your heart. Otherwise it will tear your friendship apart!” Zecora said to twilight and took a deep breath.
“The message that I was asked to deliver has been complete. I will take my leave now and leave it in the hooves of Equestria's elite.” Zecora said finally and walked away.
“Zecora, wait! What does all that mean?!” Twilight asked desperately.
“I thought we only had to harness the elements of harmony and kick Nightmare Moon's butt back to the moon?” Rainbow Dash asked after a few moments of silence.
“Maybe....the legend isn't so true after all.” Twilight replied thinking to herself what Zecora said. “That may be what we were lacking last time. Why we weren't able to defeat Nightmare Moon completely.” Twilight said turning to look at the others.
“Wait...i thought what we did was what was supposed to happen?” Rainbow Dash said still looking confused.
“What the hay does she expect us to do? Kick her flank to death?” Applejack said after a few moments looking frustrated.
“I don't know....maybe?” Twilight said after a few moments earning gasps from the other ponies.
“Twi....that's goin abit far don't y'all think?” Applejack replied in a concerned tone.
“How would you know?! You couldn't know!” Twilight snapped at Applejack.
“We all miss Spike too...but that's no reason for y'all to become what she is.” Applejack replied apprehensively.
“Nightmare Moon took my best friend....no...he was more like a brother to me.” Twilight said trailing off closing her eyes as a tear shed from her left eye then moments later snapped open glowing with a dark aura. “I will never forgive her! She took him away from me! I will make it as if she never existed when i'm done with her!” Twilight screamed her voice seemingly booming with each word she spoke as she began to float up and become surrounded in a dark magic.
“Wow....and I thought I lost it when I couldn't get those animals to like me at the gala....” Fluttershy said in a quivering voice backing away.
“Holy shi-” “Yes this is bad Rainbow. We can see this!” Rarity chimed in cutting Rainbow Dash off as she tried to think of something to say to calm Twilight down.
“Whoa nelly! She's going to hang her own reigns if she keeps this up!” Applejack said looking as the magic began to surge,sputter, and fire off mini-charges in random directions.
“Wait, what?” Rainbow Dash asked confused by what Applejack said.
“I mean she's gonna blow her Apple orchards!” Applejack replied.
“Speak English!” Rainbow Dash retorted annoyed.
“Oh for the love of....hayseed!” Applejack said slamming a hove on her face in annoyance. “She's gonna blow her own rainboom and not in a good way if she keeps this up!” Applejack said after a few moments.
“Oh! Why didn't you say so?!” Rainbow Dash replied and then gasped. “Oh Fu-” “Rainbow Dash I swear to Celestia If you don't stop swearing I will stuff your mouth with an apple tree!” Rarity shouted cutting off Rainbow Dash yet again in a panicked tone trying to think.
“Twilight! Please calm down!” Applejack shouted and then sighed “We know Y'all loved spike like a brother! We can't be pretendin to know what Y'all is goin through right now!” Applejack shouted to Twilight hoping she was getting through to her. “But if Y'all don't calm down. We're gonna lose y'all! We're you're family too Twilight! We're all your sisters and we love y'all very much.” Applejack shouted out at which point Twilight looked at Applejack.
The dark magic around Twilight slowly began to fade as she slowly floated back to the ground. The moment Twilight's hooves touched the ground Applejack rushed over to her and gave her a loving hug at which point Twilight's eyes returned to normal as her friend hugged her and she began to sob loudly.
“It's okay Twilight...let it all out.” Applejack said softly as Twilight continued to sob into her friends shoulder.
“Wow...Twilight completely lost it there.” Rainbow Dash blurted out earning dirty looks from everypony except for Twilight and Applejack.
“What?! You all were thinking it too!” Rainbow Dash retorted to their looks.
“What concerns me the most is why Twilight has begun to lose control of her magic at random times.” Rarity said putting a hove on her chin looking as if she was in deep thought.
Meanwhile in Canterlot moments before Twilight's loss of control of her magic Nightmare Moon was sitting in Princess Celestia's throne with a malicious smile on her face. “Oh my dear sister, you were such a fool...to think you could make me forget such a past that could never be forgotten.” Nightmare moon said aloud and began to laugh evilly until she suddenly felt a wave of dark magic.
“This magic.....could it be?” Nightmare moon thought to herself.
“You're Highness. We are ready to send out the squad.” A solider colt said snapping Nightmare Moon out her thoughts.
“Good...seize and capture them.” Nightmare moon replied.
“But I thought you wanted them to be eliminated?” The solider colt replied.
“You dare to question me?!” Nightmare Moon's voice boomed as she struck him with a bolt of magic.
The solider colt stood up wearily and bowed “ A-As you wish....” The solider colt replied and limped out of the throne room.
Meanwhile back to just outside of Ponyville Twilight had finally stopped crying.
“Sorry guys...i guess I really lost it.” Twilight said after a few moments.
“That's okay Twilight! Even though you went all darky evil and all we still love ya!” Pinkie Pie replied with a smile.
“Darky evil?” Twilight replied with a confused look.
“You mean...you don't remember?” Rarity asked with a inquiring look.
“No...the last thing I remember is shouting at Applejack about having lost spike and thinking of him as a brother. Then I just broke down crying in Applejack's arms.” Twilight replied earning concerned looks from everypony.
“What? Did I do something bad?” Twilight asked with a worried look.
“Well...you see Twi....you sort of-” “You went completely evil looking, you eyes glowed darkly, and you got surrounded by this creepy dark magic that went spoot,spatter, and boom! I mean I was totally freaked out but then Applejack shouted some sense into ya about us being a family and such and then you floated to the ground and went bwaaaa!” Pinkie Pie pipped up cutting off Applejack.
“Thank you Pinkie Pie for using such a tactful usage of words.....” Rarity remarked with an annoyed glare.
“Holy crap! I did that?!” Twilight blurted out after looking shocked at everything Pinkie Pie said.
“Well....i reckon y'all looked mighty scary for a few moments there, but I calmed y'all down. That's what family is for right?” Applejack's said with a smile.
Twilight couldn't help but smile at this and then let out a sigh. “Maybe this is what Zecora meant by the darkness in my heart?” Twilight said after a few moments.
“Possibly, but I reckon we think about it later.” Applejack replied looking up at the sky.
“Why?” Twilight replied with a confused look.
“oh!oh! I know! It's that wave of dark armored Pegasus ponies right?!” Pinkie pie blurted out hoping up and down.
At this everypony looked up and saw the force of dark armored ponies flying strait for them.
“Oh...this won't end well...” Twilight remarked with her flattened.
