Gotta Come Out
Yay! Awkwardness!
Previous ChapterYay! Awkwardness!
You're still here? Wow, don't you have better stories to hear? To be honest, I didn't feel like telling this part to you, but my Element says otherwise. God that thing is annoying sometimes... Anyways, here you have it.
Twilight and I finally made it back home. I was exhausted, running around all day, delivering the invitations to the far reaches of Ponyville. Just, extremely tiring.
"You got the invites delivered?" Twilight asked as I entered the library.
"'Course I did! No biggy!" I bragged, obviously lying. She could tell when I was lying, which made it impossible for me to get away with things.
"Mhmm," she mumbled, smiling.
"How about you? You get the food?" I asked. She lifted her head and used magic to set the table with tons of food and drinks. "Alcohol? Someone feeling adventurous?" I teased. She blushed.
"No! Just in case they feel like having a drink after the news, it's here for them," she explained. She turned and headed for the kitchen. I sat down at the table and began to ponder on what to say. Something, like out of no where? Like: So, this one time, I was hanging out with some friends from Cloudsdale and we played this hilarious prank that involved fireworks and it scared everypony on the streets! (Everypony starts laughing) I know right? By the way, Twilight and I are a couple! It was subtle, and maybe they wouldn't here that part. No, Twilight would get upset and I got upset when she got upset. It's like we're connected! It should probably be something where we have them quiet down and we just deliver the news. Something like: So, we're not who you guys thought we were. We don't exactly... like stallions. (Everypony looks confused) You guys didn't get that hint? We're dating! Twilight and I are.., gay. (Gasping noises) There was one problem with that one, I hated the word 'gay'. I don't know why, but it agitated me.
"Okay. They should be arriving any minute!" I called. She stepped out of the kitchen, shaking from nervousness. "Hey, don't be nervous. I'm right here," I assured her, giving her a quick kiss on the lips. She froze and settled down.
"Thanks Dash. Let's just get the hard part over with," she said. I nodded and the first knock came at the door. Twilight let out a small yelp.
"Miss Jumpy over here," I mumbled, getting an annoyed look from Twilight. I giggled. Don't judge me.
"Anypony home?" called a voice from outside. It was Applejack! I galloped over and opened the door.
"Hey AJ!" I greeted. She smiled and tipped her hat.
"'Ey Rainbow. Where are the others?" she asked.
"Arriving shortly. I'll tell the news once everypony gets here," I explained.
"Hey Applejack! Want something to eat? Drink? " offered Twilight.
"Nah. Thanks fer the offer though!" Another knock at the door.
"Come in!" I shouted. The door swung open and Pinkie and Rarity walked in, along with Spike.
"Welcome!" I greeted.
"Thank you, darling," said Rarity.
"PARTY TIME!" squealed Pinkie.
"Not now Pinkie. We're still waiting for Flutteshy," I told her. She nodded her and walked, or should I say jumped, over to Twilight, where they struck up a conversation. After a few minutes, Fluttershy arrived.
"Alright! Everypony is here!" I announced.
"Good. I want to hear this news ya got," Applejack said. Twilight froze. Uh oh.
"Right, the news. Well, Twilight get over here and everypony else sit down please," I instructed.
"I'm having second thoughts Rainbow," Twilight whispered to me.
"No time to dodge this now. Let's just get this over with," I whispered back. She nodded.
"Who speaks first?" she murmured.
"I will. Okay, everypony listen up, because this is very important! You see, we don't... uh.... like um... we have... er..." My brain has seemed to shut down. I didn't know what to do! A long and awkward silence began as I stared blankly at them.
"We're together!" Twilight blurted out, her hooves flying to her mouth. That was one way to do it.
"Yer what?" asked Applejack. I swallowed and regained my senses.
"We're a couple. We've been together for a while," I explained. Complete silence followed.
"Well, um, I've very happy you decided to share that with us..." Fluttershy whispered.
"Yeah. I'm very happy for you!" exclaimed Rarity. Spike looked confused.
"So, does that mean you don't like guys?" he questioned.
"Yep," I answered. He nodded and gave us a weird look.
"Hmm. I don't see how matters and how it would affect us, but can we begin the party now?" Pinkie asked. I laughed.
"Of course we can Pinkie!" She leaped up from her seat and the party started. It went better than I thought it would! No disloyal friends and they seemed completely fine with it. I'm glad that's how this whole situation ended.
If you're wondering about the party, I've left that part out because things get heated when the others leave and Twilight and I get drunk again. Not heated in a bad way, in a good way. Hehe. Anyways, that's how it happened. No drama, which probably disappointed you but this is real life buster. That kind of stuff are in books and TV.
