//-------------------------------------------------------// Love and Pain -by Stormy Dawn- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Awful Truth //-------------------------------------------------------// The Awful Truth Pinkie's world shrank around her. The news the vet had just given her was truly devastating. "W-what?" Pinkie stammered. "I'm sorry, Pinkie, but Gummy must be put down." The vet explained. "He's been living in pain for the past month." He said. A tear escaped her eye. Or two. Or three. Or more. She looked at her pet that she had since she moved to Ponyville. He was going to be gone, forever. She sniffled as more tears ran down her face. "I-I can't believe this..." Pinkie sputtered. "He looked just fine to me..." "Pinkie, his face expression never changes." The vet said flatly. "I'll reschedule a date to put him to sleep." He said. "How does this Wednesday work?" He asked. "Fine......" Pinkie mumbled. She only had three days left with her beloved pet. Three short days, were what Gummy had left to live for. She picked Gummy up off the table and hugged him. "I'm so sorry, Gummy..." Pinkie choked back a sob. "You're so young..." She looked back up at the vet. "I have to go now." She said. "Thank you." She mumbled the last part, unsure if she really was thankful. He was taking her pet away from her, but than again, the alligator was in extreme pain, so it was for the best. She held back her tears until she got to her room, and then, she let it all out. Her mane grew slightly before it made a deflated noise, and pink strands of mane draped over her body. "Why you, Gummy?" She asked. "It won't be the same without you..." Pinkie mumbled. "Pinkie?" A voice came from downstairs. Dashie! Pinkie thought. She couldn't let her friends see her like this, but it was too late. "Pinkie, are you here?" Rainbow called. Pinkie's bedroom door slowly swung open and Rainbow's head popped in. "Hi Pinks, I was wonder-" She froze at the state of her pink friend. "Pinkie, what's wrong?" She asked as she walked into the room. Rainbow was struck with déjà vou, all she needed to see was a bucket of turnips, a sack of flour and a giant tuft of lint. "Nothing." Pinkie mumbled. Rainbow gave her an unamused face. "You don't look like it." Rainbow said. "How was the vet appointment?" Rainbow asked. "Don't say that word!" Pinkie cried as a tear rain down her cheek. "What, vet?" Rainbow asked. "Yes!" She replied. "Why?" Rainbow asked. "Deyvetoopivtgummphydwn." Pinkie answered. Rainbow turned her ear towards Pinkie. "THEY HAVE TO PUT GUMMY DOWN!" Pinkie shouted. "WHAT?!" Rainbow shouted back. "How could they do that?" She asked. "Apparently he's been in extreme pain for a month." Pinkie answered as she rolled her eyes. "You'd think you'd be able to tell if he was in pain!" She complained. "He said it would be better if they put him to sleep so he doesn't have to be in pain anymore." Pinkie said. "I'm so sorry..." Rainbow said. "I want what's best for him...." She said. "But at the same time, I-I-I-I" Pinkie started sobbing. Rainbow opened her wings and wrapped them around her friend. "Don't." Pinkie finished. "I want him to stay..." Pinkie said. "It's okay," Rainbow said. "If I lost Tank, I would feel exactly the same." She said. "Everypony goes through losses. Me included." Rainbow said. Pinkie sniffled. "W-what do you mean? You've only had one pet, and he's still alive." She said. "Pets aren't the only things we lose." She said. "I lost both my parents in a weather factory accident." Rainbow recalled. "Oh." Pinkie managed to say. "I just feel this is all.... unfair." She said. "I know, nothing feels fair, but I want you to know that I'm here for you." Rainbow said. "Thank you so much Dashie." Pinkie said as she wrapped her forelegs around the pegasus and squeezed tighter than ever before. "You always make my day." She blushed Rainbow forced a smile as her eyes bugged out and she attempted to breath. Rainbow drew in a big breath as soon as Pinkie let go. She picked Gummy off of Pinkie's head and hoofed him to her. "He's yours, spend his last few days together." Rainbow said. "Thanks, Dashie." Her mane wasn't strait anymore, but it wasn't exactly 'poofy'. "Do you wanna come with me?" Pinkie asked. "Um, I dunno, it's okay with you?" Rainbow asked. "You silly filly! I'm the one who asked you in the first place!" Pinkie said. "Well, okay!" Rainbow said. "Gummy's gonna have the best last few days of his life, EVER!" She said. "Oh wait, you only have the last few days of your life once." She said. Rainbow acted fast so Pinkie wouldn't feel down again. "Oh well, let's go!" She said. "Alright!" Pinkie said. "C'mon, Gummy! You're gonna have the best days of your life!" The trio played ball in the park, took turns giving Gummy a piggy back ride, and had, indeed, the best three last days of Gummy's life. Deep down inside, Pinkie had an awful feeling inside of her. The lump in her throat was only getting bigger, for various reasons. The worst was yet to come. Author's Note Debating whether the story should end after Gummy's put to sleep, tell me what you think! //-------------------------------------------------------// The Dreadful Chapter Everyone's Been Dreading //-------------------------------------------------------// The Dreadful Chapter Everyone's Been Dreading Pinkie's eyes fluttered open. Her room was bright with natural light, so she guessed it was late in the morning. She felt something draped over her body, so she looked over and found Rainbow Dash's feathered wing keeping her close. She felt her cheeks burn. She tried as hard as she could to keep a gasp in her mouth, but it escaped. Luckily, Rainbow didn't wake up. Pinkie attempted to get out from under her wing, but failed when Rainbow grunted and tightened her wing around the pink pony. Though she did remember one thing: pegasus wings are extremely sensitive. She found her hoof touching the appendage of Rainbow's blue wing. It retracted a bit, but did not close. Her wing's grasp softened enough for Pinkie to roll right out from under. Once she was off her bed, she stretched. She glanced at her cyan friend. She was quite surprised she had not waken up when she touched the most sensitive part of her body. Her heart sank when she remembered what day it was. It was Wednesday. Three days after her visit to the vet. Her mane drooped down, but not quite deflated and her vibrant pink colours faded. She slowly walked back over to her bed and touched Rainbow's wing, harder this time. It retracted again, this time back to her side and she snapped awake. "Who! Wha!" Rainbow blurted. "Oh, hey Pinks!" She looked at Pinkie's sad face. "What's wrong?" She asked. "It's Wednesday." Pinkie said as she sat on her haunches and frowned. "And what's that supposed to mean?" Rainbow asked. "Every Wednesday is 'sad day'?" Rainbow joked. Pinkie eyed Gummy with a sad face. "Oh..." Rainbow said. "Right. What time's the appointment?" She asked. "An hour." Pinkie replied. She sniffled and a tear streaked her cheek. "Oh, don't be like that..." Rainbow said in a comforting tone as she floated out of bed and placed a hoof on her shoulder. She spread her forelegs out and smiled. Pinkie took the invitation and jumped into Rainbow's hooves. This time, Pinkie's touch was as soft as a kitten, and didn't basically squish her to death. Rainbow enjoyed Pinkie's gentleness, because it probably wouldn't last long. "I don't know what I would do without you, Dashie." Pinkie said. Dash felt her cheeks warm up. "I would probably would've been a nervous breakdown." "Heheh, no problem, what are friends for?" Pinkie smiled. She still is a nervous breakdown. She joked in her head. "Are you ready to go?" Rainbow asked. Pinkie gulped and sighed. "Yeah, I think so." Pinkie said. "Ok, let's go." Rainbow said. Pinkie picked up her green friend and placed him on her head. She nodded and followed Rainbow out the door. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Pinkie Pie?" The vet called. Pinkie and Rainbow stood up. "Follow me." He said. The two mares followed the stallion through the hall and came into a room. "Before we begin, we understand it's hard letting a pet go, so I'll wait outside so you can say goodbye. Pinkie nodded. The vet smiled and closed the door after he left. Rainbow looked back at Pinkie, who already had tears streaming down her face. Rainbow nodded. Gummy's eyes blinked out of sync like they always did. Pinkie clenched her eyes shut and bit her lip. She made a small whimpering noise. Rainbow settled her hooves on Pinkie shoulders. "Ssshhhhh..." She mumbled. "It's okay." She gave herself permission to be mushy for things like this. If Pinkie said anything about this to anypony, she would deny it. She hugged her pink friend from behind. Pinkie sniffled once before she started speaking. "Gummy, you have no idea how much more fun you've made my life, and... I know it's gonna be hard without you, but I pinkie promise you I won't be sad." She said as she slowly and sombrely acted out the actions to her own promise. She started to uncontrollably sob. "I'm just *hic* so sorry that *hic* I couldn't help *hic* you sooner so you could stay with us." Pinkie said. "Oh, Pinkie. Don't talk like that, it wasn't your fault." Rainbow said as she hugged Pinkie around the waist. Pinkie looked at Rainbow and then back at Gummy. "I-I'll never f-forget y-you." Pinkie said. Tears slipped from both mare's eyes. "Goodbye." Pinkie finished. Rainbow wiped the tears off her face before Pinkie turned around. "I know you were crying." Pinkie said after she turned around. "Can the vet come in?" Rainbow asked. Pinkie nodded slowly as she clenched her eyes shut. Rainbow motioned the vet to come back in. "All set?" The vet asked. "Mhm." Pinkie said. "Ok." The vet said. He he took a needle that had a liquid in it. He levitated the needle with his horn towards Gummy. The alligator obliviously stared forward. Pinkie grabbed Dash and shoved her face into her chest. Rainbow's heart jumped by the pink pony's sudden actions. She started sobbing uncontrollably into Rainbow's blue fur. The unsettling feeling of wetness spread across her chest as Pinkie cried harder and harder. Rainbow soothingly ran her hoof through her now straitening mane. Pinkie lifted her head soon enough to see the needle being injected into Gummy's body. She bit her lip. Tears rolled freely down Dash's cheek as she frowned. Pinkie stepped forward and reached her hoof out. Her hoof met with Gummy's scaly stomach. He was still breathing steadily, but she knew it would stop very soon. She felt a hoof on her shoulder and turned around to see Rainbow's reassuring, tear streaked face. She looked back at her companion. His breathing was getting slower and slower. Her initial reflex was to call for a doctor or something to help him, but in her heart, she knew what had to be done, and it was supposed to be done. His breathing became so distant that she could barely feel his moving stomach. Pinkie's eyes basically became waterfalls, and Rainbow tried to comfort her, but it was no use. There was no way to get her to stop crying for her dying pet. The two watched as Gummy's chest gracefully stopped moving, and his purple eyes drooped shut out of sync, one last time. Rainbow and Pinkie's head tipped down in silence. The only noise to be heard through the room was Pinkie's soft sobs over her passed pet. Author's Note Well there's that chapter, chapter three should be coming out real soon! //-------------------------------------------------------// Pinkie Promise Broken //-------------------------------------------------------// Pinkie Promise Broken "He's gone..." She mumbled. Her mane was as flat as an untouched piece of paper. Rainbow's ears folded back at the sight of her said friend. She stepped forward. "It's okay." Rainbow said. "We can get past it together." Pinkie looked down as a barely audible sob came from to her mouth. "Uhuh." She mumbled as several teardrops from her eyes hit the floor. "C'mon, let's go." Rainbow said as she put her hoof on her pink friends shoulder. Pinkie solemnly payed the bill and followed Rainbow out of the building, her hooves dragging. On the way back to Sugarcube Corner, Rainbow attempted to make conversation with Pinkie, but all the pink pony would say was 'hm' or 'uhuh'. Rainbow gave up after ten minutes of failed conversation, and the two walked in silence. Pinkie's mane was flat, her vibrant colours faded, and her eyes were not a sparkling blue, but a flat grey. When the two reached the door of Sugarcube Corner, Pinkie turned to face Rainbow and frowned. "You can go now." She mumbled. "No." Rainbow replied. "I'm not going to let you mope around for days!" She remarked. "You're the element of laughter for Luna's sake!" "I just want to be alone for now." Pinkie said, ignoring most of what she just said. Rainbow grumbled. "Okay, but I'm coming back tomorrow." Rainbow said. "Whatever..." Pinkie mumbled as she opened the door to Sugarcube Corner. Through the door, Rainbow could see Mrs. Cake. At the sight of Pinkie, she opened her mouth but closed it when she saw Rainbow slice her hoof across her neck and frowned with her teeth bared. She nodded and went back to managing the cash register, still with a worried look on her face. Rainbow sighed and took off towards her own home. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Pinkie sighed as she looked at Gummy's basket from her bed. "Why why why why why why why why why, why!?" Pinkie shouted. She lowered her head into her hooves into her folded forelegs and cried. She cried in sorrow. She cried for all the good times she had with Gummy. She cried for his death. She cried for breaking the Pinkie promise she made with Gummy. She looked up. Her face was red and her eyes were puffy. She felt like her heart had been ripped out of her chest and stepped on by somebody with a cold heart. The image of the syringe stabbing Gummy lingered in her head, unable to get it out of her mind. She pressed on her temples. "Get out of my head!" She said between sobs. "It's only making matters worse!" But the image did not exit her mind, instead, it just plagued her mind more. She grumbled as flung her head back onto her pillow and covered her eyes with her hooves. "I miss him already..." Once again, her uncontrolled sobbing was the only sound to be heard in the room. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Rainbow soared through the sky at top speed, flipping and performing barrel rolls all over the place. Through all the practicing she had done to clear her head, the image of Pinkie weeping by Gummy's side replayed in her mind over and over again. She hit herself in the head a few times and shook her head. "Go away, go away, GO AWAY!" She shouted in anger. She earned a few weird looks from by passers, but she didn't care. Why did she care that much? Yeah, Pinkie was a friend she dearly cared about, but it was bothering her too much for it to be normal. She grumbled and darted towards her cloud mansion. An awful feeling in her stomach made her think that Pinkie would never be the same again. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Inside of the Sweetshop of Sugarcube Corner, Pinkie was still sobbing in her darkened room. She was blankly staring downwards when she heard hoof steps on the stairs. "Pinkie?" A voice rang out. "Pinkie, you have to come to work!" The voice who sounded a lot like Mrs. Cake. "I don wanno." Pinkie mumbled. "Pinkie, what's wrong?" Mrs. Cake asked. "Come out and talk to me." "Nooo." Pinkie said. "Pinkie, I'm coming in." She said. Pinkie clenched her eyes shut as the light from the hallway streamed into her room. She groaned as Mrs. Cake turned on the light. She gasped. "Oh, Pinkie, is everything alright?" Mrs. Cake asked with a worried tone. "Does it look like it?" Pinkie mumbled without any demeanour, except for sad. "Come on, Pinkie. Can't you tell me what's wrong?" She asked. "Do you need a cuddle with Gummy?" She asked. Pinkie's heart started beating faster. "No!" She said in a high pitched voice while choking back a sob. "Why not?" She asked, taken aback. "Cause he's gone." Pinkie said through her hooves. "Excuse me?" Mrs. Cake asked with a confused look on her face. "He's gone." Pinkie said, looking straight at her. "He's gone forever." She added sombrely. "What do you mean, he's gone?" She asked with an even more worried look. "The vet had to put him down." She said with tears filling her eyes. Mrs. Cake put a hoof over her mouth in surprise. "Oh my goodness, dear!" She exclaimed. "Why didn't you tell me?" "I dunno." Pinkie answered while shrugging her shoulders. "Does anyone else know?" She asked. "Yeah, Dashie does." She answered. Pinkie sighed. "I made a Pinkie promise I wouldn't be sad, but I can't help it." "You made a Pinkie promise with Gummy?" Mrs. Cake asked. "Yeah." Pinkie answered. "Anyhow, where's the Pinkie I know, everypony knows?" She asked with a soft smile. Pinkie looked up with a straight, sad face. "Gone." Author's Note Tada! //-------------------------------------------------------// Let's Have Some Fun //-------------------------------------------------------// Let's Have Some Fun Rainbow darted across town. There was only one place she was headed for in the late afternoon. It was only a day ago when Gummy was put down, but it felt like such a long time ago. Maybe it was because Pinkie Pie wasn't all over the place like normal. Rainbow Dash didn't know why she cared so much about her friend's well being. Sure, a good friend would worry about it, but this just seemed like too much. Her only dream she had last night was plagued by sad, deflated Pinkie Pie. Her grey opposed to blue eyes were filled with tears and her face had the saddest face of all sad faces. Through all the thought Rainbow did, she didn't notice the quickly approaching bakery. "Woah!!" She shouted as she crashed through the window of Pinkie's bedroom. Pinkie nearly jumped out of her fur and skin. "Dashie! What are you doing here?" She asked. After Rainbow got up and brushed herself off, she turned to Pinkie. "I said I was gonna come today and check in on you!" Rainbow exclaimed. "Oh." She said. "Right." "C'mon, you have to smile!" Rainbow said. "You may move on, but by the looks of it, you're gonna need some help!" She said, her voice cracking. "Hm." Pinkie responded. C'mon, let's go have some fun." Rainbow said. "Fine...." Pinkie said. The pegasus chuckled. "The good old Pinkie would've bounced up and responded with: c'mon, let's go!'." Where did that Pinkie go?" Rainbow asked. "I dot like sad and depressed Pinkie as much. Pinkie was hit with major déjà vou from the new Fluttershy, old Fluttershy, nice Fluttershy and mean Fluttershy incident. Her pink hooves wrapped around Rainbow Dash's waist, and she pulled her into a bone crushing hug as a few tears dripped from her eyes and dribbled down the blue mare's back. Rainbow was already making progress, only the good old Pinkie Pie would give rib snapping hugs. "Now there's-" she attempted to breathe. "Part of the-" and again. "Pinkie-" she gasped for air. "That I know!" She said in a high pitched voice. "Oh." Pinkie said. "Now, let's go outside." Rainbow said. "Okay..." Pinkie answered. Mr. Cake had a surprised look on his face when he noticed Pinkie Pie walking down the stairs. "H-how did you do that?" He asked with wide eyes. Rainbow polished her hoof against her chest. "Eh, it was easy, as, pie." She said as she looked at Pinkie. A small smile that was on her face disappeared. Rainbow waved her hoof towards the front door, and Pinkie slowly nodded. The pair slowly walked out of the bakery and into the busy streets of Ponyville. Rainbow glared at the ponies who gave Pinkie strange looks as they moved along. "Hey, Pinkie?" She asked. "Why didn't you tell anypony else?" "What?" Pinkie said as she looked up and raised her eyebrows. "About Gummy. Why didn't you tell anyone else?" Rainbow repeated. "Oh, we're back at that." Pinkie said as she looked back down. Good job, doofus. Rainbow though to herself. "Well, because I thought you'd be the most supportive." Pinkie answered. "Fluttershy? Applejack?" Rainbow asked in surprise. "Mm, maybe because you're my bestest of bestie best friends." Pinkie said. She was making more progress. Everything Pinkie said was still flat and expressionless, but only the old Pinkie would say things like what she just did. "Whatd'ya say we do some pranking?" Rainbow asked. "Okie dokie lokie." Pinkie answered. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Through all the pranks they did (a lot), Pinkie had only giggled a few times. Her tail did happen to curl a little bit during the time, which was good enough for Rainbow, though she did still seem to sad to do something normal for Pinkie standards. "What do you want to do now?" Rainbow asked. "I dunno." Pinkie replied. "A real help." Rainbow said sarcastically. Pinkie shrugged. "We could go swimming." Rainbow suggested. "Mm." Pinkie answered. "I'll take that as a no." Rainbow Dash noted. "I still can't believe he's gone..." Pinkie mumbled out of the blue. Rainbow smacked her face. "Well, it's good to know that your randomness is back." Rainbow groaned. "In one way somepony might not see." She mumbled the last part. Rainbow gasped. "We should make some cupcakes or something!" Rainbow suggested. This made Pinkie's ears stand up. "O-okay, we could try that." Pinkie said. "Alright! Let's go!" She said as she flew off. ~~~~~~~~~~~ "Ok, Pinkie. I'm no expert at baking, so you lead the way!" Rainbow said. "Mkay..." Pinkie mumbled. The pair made cupcakes for the entire day, and Pinkie was getting better. She had cracked a few true smiles this time. "Well Pinkie, I've had fun today, I hope you did too." Pinkie slightly nodded. "Cool, well, I have to go now, catchya later!" Rainbow said as she waved and flew out the door. "Bye, Dashie." Pinkie said, after she was long gone. She sighed. "I did have fun today, in fact, I wanna do this again sometimes." She said to herself. "I bet the real Pinkie would've missed Dashie already." She finished. Around the corner, Mrs. Cake smiled. Pinkie was having sort of fun again. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Rainbow sighed. The sun was setting and her house was coming into view. Okay, It was a fact that her face heats up when she laughs really hard, but she didn't laugh that hard At all today. So why were her cheeks and heating up, and why did her heart flutter or skip a beat? And why did it happen only when she looked at Pinkie Pie? Author's Note I'd appreciate it if nobody inserted a cupcakes joke there :| //-------------------------------------------------------// Can't Everything Be Back To Normal? //-------------------------------------------------------// Can't Everything Be Back To Normal? "Bye, girls! See you later!" Rainbow called as she flew off. She grumbled. "Where's Pinkie Pie?!" She asked herself while her back leg sliced through a cloud. "Down here." Rainbow's ears perked up. She looked down. "Pinkie! Why weren't you with the rest of us?" Rainbow asked. The pink pony shrugged. "I dunno." Rainbow groaned. "Y'know 'I dunno' isn't an answer, right?" Rainbow asked. "Oh." Pinkie mumbled. Pinkie had gotten better. She was out and about all the time again, but it wasn't to cheer anypony up. She walked around town for a little bit and then disappear back inside Sugarcube Corner. "I hate how things are running here." Rainbow said. "If everything went back to normal, I would be reaaaallllllly happy." Pinkie looked down. "C'mon, it's been a week!" Rainbow exclaimed. "You need to smile!" "I don't know if I can." Pinkie mumbled. "Yes you can! You were able to smile on your birthday party!" Rainbow said. "You laughed and smiled in the face of danger!" She floated down and put her hooves on her shoulders, still hovering in the air. Pinkie just sighed. "I-I know you're right, Dashie. I'm trying, I really am, but... I just can't get him off my mind." Pinkie replied. Rainbow grounded herself. "And you know what?" Rainbow asked. "I can't get you being sad off my mind! It's driving me crazy!" She said. Pinkie blushed at that. "C'mon, let's to something you absolutely love to do." Rainbow said. She gasped. "We could talk!" She said. Talking was a good way to get Gummy off her mind. "Ok, but what are we gonna talk about?" Pinkie asked. "I dunno," She answered. "How about.... We talk about all the fun parties you've thrown." Rainbow suggested. Pinkie's ears perked up. This is how she cheered her self up and got her pride back, after Cheese Sandwich had taken it. "O-okay." Pinkie replied. Rainbow nodded like she was insisting that Pinkie went first. "Uh, oh, well, there was um... Oh! Twilight's welcome to Ponyville party." She said. "There we go." Rainbow smiled. "That one was fun, except for the fact that Twilight didn't actually attend her own party." She smirked. "Yeah, but I guess she was trying to find a a way to stop Nightmare Moon." Pinkie responded. "Mhm, oh!" Rainbow blurted. "Remember how happy she was, all of us were, when she realized that we were her friends?" She asked. "Yeah, I remember I was so happy that day that I threw a party just for them." Pinkie said. "Yeah, I'll never forget that day." Rainbow said. "Exhibit A, as AJ would call it." She smirked. Pinkie giggled. Giggled. "That's your key word." Rainbow said. "Happy." "Yeah, I guess." Pinkie said. "I'll try. I really will." Rainbow smiled. "That's the spirit!" She beamed. "Hmm..." She said as she tapped her chin. "Wanna go swimming?" She asked. "Sure." Pinkie said. It wasn't very enthusiastic, but she could tell Pinkie wanted to. "Ok, let's go!" Okie dokie lokie." Pinkie mumbled. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Rainbow and Pinkie were having fun at the swimming hole. Pinkie was indeed, having fun. Not the kind of fun she used to have, but it was good enough at the rate they were improving at. Pinkie still hadn't said anything in an excited tone. Rainbow was doing back crawl with her wings when Pinkie jumped on top of her. "Wha-*garble* the?!" Rainbow shouted. Once Rainbow surfaced, she looked at Pinkie with angry face. "Pinkie! Why'd you do that. Pinkie whimpered and she looked down. "I-I'm sorry Dashie, I just happened to land on top of you w-when I jumped off the swing..." Pinkie said. "Please don't be mad at me..." Rainbow cursed herself and smiled. She swam towards Pinkie. "Oh, Pinkie, I'm not mad at you, I was just surprised." She said. "Nopony could ever stay mad at someone as cute as you." Rainbow wrapped her arms around Pinkie. The pink pony blushed at the complement her best friend had just given her. She hugged back, and her straight hair draped over Rainbow's blue coat. Rainbow's heart started beating and adrenaline shot through her veins. Her cheeks turned a dark shade of red. "Well, ahem, now that that problem is solved, we can, um, get back to swimming..." Rainbow stammered. "Yeah......." Pinkie answered with an unsure tone, her cheeks burning too. Not now, Rainbow! Wait, what's wrong with me?! the pegasus thought. Why are you so nervous?! I'm never nervous! Pinkie thought. "I-I-I have to go." Rainbow blurted as she darted away. "Dashie?" Pinkie mumbled. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Rainbow landed on a cloud, her heart beating like a hummingbird's. She bit her lip. "What is wrong with you!" Rainbow shouted at herself. She laid down on the cloud and put her hooves over her head. "Stupid, stupid." Rainbow mumbled. "I can't go back now, she probably won't want to see me." She said to herself. "You're such an idiot..." Rainbow muttered. She frowned and took off into the air. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Rainbow landed on the front porch of her cloud mansion and pushed the door open. Tank walked up to Dash and nuzzled her, but she pushed him back, making him spin in a circle on his shell. "Not now, Tank." She mumbled, heading straight for her room. Once she was there, she flopped onto her bed and a tear slipped from her eye. Again, why did she care so much that she left Pinkie in the dust? She had done it before, so why did it matter so much now? Author's Note Here you go! She said out loud. The memories of the passed day pooled back into her head. Her ears folded back. Maybe I should see Rarity. She an expert on feelings and what they mean. She thought. She nodded and darted towards Carousel Boutique. ~~~~~~~~~~~ A knock came from the door. "Oh, who could that possibly be at this hour?" Rarity grumbled as she stood up from her kitchen table. She opened the door and smiled. "Oh, hello, Rainbow dear." Rarity greeted. "What brings you here?" She asked. "Hi Rarity, can I come in?" Rainbow asked. "Oh! Of course!" Rarity said as she stepped aside. Rainbow smiled and she stepped inside the warm boutique. "Anyways, I was wondering if you could answer a question." Rainbow said. "Mhm, of course." Rarity said as Rainbow sat down at the table. "Tea?" She asked. "Oh, um.... sure." Rainbow said. "Alright, now, what was it you wanted to talk about?" Rarity asked. "Oh, right." Rainbow said. "Well, you see, I've been getting this feeling..." She started. Rarity whipped around and looked at Rainbow straight in the eye. "Oh, tell me about it!" Rarity beamed. "I'm great at this!" Rarity giggled. "Ok, well, I've been getting this feeling... around Pinkie Pie." Rainbow started. Rarity practically leaped across the table. "Oh my goodness! Tell me more!" She giggled. "What kind of feeling?" "Um, warm face, mostly cheeks, uh, it feels like my heart speeds up when she hugs me, I get all nervous when she looks at me in the eye..." She said. Rarity looked as if she was ready to explode. "And... Uh, you okay?" Rainbow asked. "Ahem, oh, yes, continue." She said in a giggly voice. "Um... where was I? Oh yeah, I get all fidgety when she talks, laughs, or sings in that... that, beautiful voice she has.... I-it's undeniable." She said with a dreamy look on her face. Rarity was giggling and smiling. She looked back at Rainbow after finishing her laughing fit. "Oh, Rainbow, dear, you're just simply clueless!" She said. "Don't you get it, dear?" Rarity beamed. "Uh, no." Rainbow said. Rarity rested her hooves on the pegasus's shoulder. "This is to good to be true!" Rarity laughed. "Rarity, what, what, WHAT?" Rainbow said. "What does it mean?" She asked. "Oh, Rainbow, don't you see?" Rarity asked. "You're in love!" "Huh?" Rainbow muttered. "You're in love!" She repeated. "With our dear Pinkie Pie!" "Whoa, whoa, whoa." Rainbow said. "In love?" She asked. "With Pinkie?" She asked. "Yes, Rainbow, I believe so," Rarity said. Rainbow lifted into the air and floated around the room. "I can't believe this..." Rainbow said. "...In love... with my best friend?" Rainbow asked. "The best way to fall in love, if you ask me!" Rarity beamed. "I know, I know, it's just, it's Pinkie!" Rainbow shouted. "You never know what she'll say! She just that random!" "Rainbow Dash, please dear, sit down." Rarity said. "Okay." Rainbow said as she sat on the floor. The unicorn walked up to her and sat down in front of her. "Yes, that is true, but this is Pinkie we're talking about. Yes, of course she can be random, but if you happen to be rejected, Pinkie could never stay mad at you." Rarity said. "Especially you." "I still don't know what to do..." Rainbow said. "You have to follow your heart, Dash." Rarity said. "What the hay does that mean?" Rainbow asked. "It means you have to stop using your brain for everything, and let your heart decide!" Rarity said. "Not following." She said as she raised an eyebrow. Rarity sighed. "All those fluttery heart messages you've been getting- use them to decide what to do." Rarity said. "Okay, I think I get it." Rainbow said. "I just need some time to think." "Glad I could help, dear." Rarity said. "Have a good day." Rainbow waved and darted out the door. "This could be the best thing that ever happened to her..." Rarity said as she watched her friend go. She smiled and walked back inside her boutique. Author's Note Oooohohohoho! Sorry, I'm not that great with Rarity, so hopefully it sounded okay. //-------------------------------------------------------// Close Your Eyes //-------------------------------------------------------// Close Your Eyes Rainbow, yet again, was zooming across town, practicing her moves and tricks. Through it all, the thought that lingered in her mind was- Did she love Pinkie Pie like Rarity said? It had been three days since Rainbow's visit to Rarity's and she hadn't seen Pinkie since she fled from the swimming hole. She was thinking about what Rarity said almost all the time. She shivered. It could be worse, She thought. She's my best friend! She thought. Her pupils shrank to pinpoints. What if I screw up? What if I hurt her feelings? How would I even hurt her feelings? She shook her head. She was just paranoid. "I can't back out now," She casted a worried look towards the dark window on the upper floor of Sugarcube Corner. "Pinkie Pie needs me..." She shook her head. "But do I even like her like that?" She asked herself. "My body is telling me I like her, but do I love her?" She sighed. "This is why I don't do romance." Rainbow said to herself. "Maybe one of my friends will know what to do." Rainbow said. She darted towards the town library. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Rainbow Dash bursted through the door of the Golden Oak Library. "Hey, Twilight!" Rainbow called. "Hi, Rainbow, be down in a minute!" Twilight called back. "Ok!" She replied. After a bit of waiting, Twilight walked down the stairs. As soon as Rainbow saw her coming, she lifted off and darted at her. "Twilight, you have to help me!" Rainbow cried. The alicorn eyed her. "With what?" She asked. "Well, ok, so I need some help to figure out if I like somepony or not." She said. "Rainbow, you really think I'll be able to help you with that?" Twilight asked. "Anything, Twilight, anything!" Rainbow said. "Why are you being so pushy?" She asked. "And why does it matter so much at this moment?" Rainbow fiddled with her hooves. "It's for somepony whose feeling kind of under the weather." She answered. "Rainbow, you know when it comes to this, you need to decide yourself." Twilight said as she touched Rainbow's chest. "Let your heart decide." Rainbow groaned. "I've heard that one before." She grumbled. "Oh, well in that case, you should know what your doing." She said. "Uuuuhhhhh, I just went in a circle!" Rainbow groaned. Twilight shrugged. "Who is this somepony, anyways?" The purple mare asked. "I'd rather not say right now." Rainbow said. "Okay" Twilight casually answered. "I'm glad I could help you." "Thanks, Twilight," Rainbow said. "But I'm gonna go ask someone more my level." Twilight rolled her eyes. "Ok, I'm not stopping you." She said. "Goodbye Rainbow, have a good day." "Thanks Twi!" Rainbow shouted as she flew out the door. After a few minutes of silence, a unicorn opened the door and walked inside. "Hello, Twilight?" Rarity called out. "I'll be down in a minute!" The alicorn replied. A few minutes later, Twilight walked down the stairs. "Hey Rarity!" Twilight said. "What's up?" "Oh, nothing much." Rarity replied. "I came here to return this fashion book." "Thanks," Twilight said as she took the book from Rarity's magical grasp with her own magic. The purple mare's eyes lit up. "Hey, did you know that Rainbow Dash is crushing on somepony?" Twilight asked. "Why yes, I most certainly do!" Rarity replied. "She's really got it on her." "How do you know all of this?" Twilight asked. "She came to my boutique a few days ago and asked me for help." Rarity explained. "She wasn't quite sure that the signals her body was giving her was telling her she was in love." "Oh?" Twilight said, sitting down. "She was kind of scared at first, I mean, I don't think she's ever been in love before, with a mare, for that fact." Rarity said before she clamped her hooves over her mouth. Twilight's eyes widened. "Ehehehehhe...." Rarity awkwardly laughed. "Did I perhaps say that last part out loud?" She asked. Twilight nodded slowly. "Oh my gosh, who is it?!" Twilight asked. Rarity's pupils nervously darted all over the room. "Mmmm, I'm not entirely sure I'm supposed to be telling you this, dear." Rarity responded. "Oh, come on!" Twilight complained. "Rainbow wouldn't tell me!" "Well, there you go!" Rarity countered. "She won't tell you herself, so I will be no different." Rarity said as she turned around and stuck her nose in the air. "Please?" Twilight asked. "I promise I won't tell anypony!" Rarity turned around. "I-I suppose." Rarity said. "Gossip is gossip." She said. "Okay, who is it?" Twilight asked. Rarity gulped. "Pinkie Pie." ~~~~~~~~~~~ Rainbow scanned her surroundings and spotted a orange earth pony pounding her hind hooves against an apple tree. She nose dived and landed with a hard thump behind her country friend. "Hey AJ!" Rainbow said. Applejack turned around and whipped the sweat off her face. "Howdy, RD!" Applejack said. "How ya doin?" She asked. The pegasus shrugged. "Actually, not that well." She answered. "Oh, what's the problem?" She asked as she tipped her hat higher onto her head. Rainbow itched her foreleg with the other. "I've been told I like somepony-" Rainbow started. "Like, like like somepony?" Applejack asked. "Um yes." Rainbow answered. AJ snorted before she burst out laughing uncontrollably. "Say, tha toughest, roughest pegasus in Ponyville's in love!" Rainbow frowned. "Hey! If I told you who it was, you wouldn't be laughing." She said. "Okay then, who is it?" She asked as she stood back up. "I'm not gonna tell you!" Rainbow said. "Okay than, I'll just keep on laughn'!" Applejack responded. "Okay, okay!" Rainbow said. "I'll give you a hint." "Okay, lay it on me." AJ said. "Well, she's an Element of Harmony." Rainbow said as she looked down. "Really?!" AJ shouted. "This is great! Your in love with one of our best friends! Ya can tell me! I won't laugh! Ah Pinkie promise!" "Okay, here's a hint that will help a lot." Rainbow said. "She's always r-" she stopped. "Most of the time, she's really, really, really happy." She said as she worriedly glanced at the town, specifically the bakery. Applejack's eyes widened. "You're in love with Pinkie Pie?" AJ asked. "At least I think so." Rainbow answered. "Whatd'ya mean?" She asked. "I'm not sure if I like her or not." Rainbow said. Applejack smacked her head. "RD, how do you not like her but do like her?!" She asked. "That's the thing, I wasn't the one who found out." She said. "Rarity told me." ~~~~~~~~~~~ "Pinkie Pie?!" Twilight blurted. "Really?!" "Yes, I believe so." Rarity said. "Unless Rainbow was lying." Twilight shook her head. "No, Rainbow wouldn't lie." Twilight shook her head again. "I take that back." "Speaking of Pinkie, though, have you seen her around?" Rarity asked. "I haven't seen her in days." "Me neither." Twilight answered "Why, I haven't seen the dear since she was on the way to the vet with Gummy." Rarity added. "Yeah....." Twilight replied. ~~~~~~~~~~~ "Well, think of it this way," Applejack said. "How did Rarity figure it out?" She asked. "I told her the feelings I got around Pinkie." She answered. "Okay, like what?" She asked. "Mmmm, hot cheeks, heart speeding up, fluttering heart, things like that." Rainbow Dash said. AJ chuckled before speaking. "Well there ya go!" Applejack said. "Those feelings say it all!" She said. "They do?" Dash asked. "Yep, your body is telling her that you like her." She said as she crossed her legs. The pegasus nodded slowly. "Ah guess you're not smart enough to figure it out." AJ said as she lightly punched Rainbow's head. "Hey!" She complained. "Ah'm just jokn'." Applejack said. "But really, use mah advise." She said. "Okay, thanks AJ!" She called as she flew off. "See ya later!" ~~~~~~~~~~~ Insisting herself not to crash into the window this time, Rainbow Dash landed at the front door of Sugarcube Corner. She walked inside the store and looked around. "Hello, Ranbow Dash." Mrs. Cake said. "Hi, Mrs. Cake." Rainbow said. "Have you seen Pinkie?" She said. "Yes, she's upstairs." She said. "Please help her." She said. "I'll try." She said as she nodded. She slowly walked up the stairs and knocked on the closed door to Pinkie's room. She heard hoof steps and then the door opened a crack. Rainbow walked inside and looked for Pinkie. She saw a pink pony sitting in the middle of the floor. Her straight mane had a few stray hairs sticking out. "P-Pinkie?" Rainbow asked. "Oh, it's you." Pinkie said. "Yes, it's me." Rainbow said as she raised an eyebrow. "Thanks for leaving me behind in the water." The mare grumbled. "Look, I can explain!" Rainbow cried. "Yeah, sure." Pinkie said. "You just wanted to leave me behind because I was all mopey!" "What?!" Rainbow shouted. "That's not true!" She said. "Sure, I know you lie." Pinkie replied. Rainbow might've forgotten about liking Pinkie, but she knew that deep inside, the real Pinkie was still there. "Pinkie, you know I would never leave you behind!" Pinkie snorted. "Yeah right." She said. "Please Pinkie, just calm down." Dash said. Pinkie just glared at her. Rainbow took a deep breath. "Pinkie, close your eyes." She said. "Wh-" Pinkie started. "Just close your eyes." She said. Pinkie sighed and closed her eyes. With her hooves shaky, she placed them on her friend's shoulders. She took a deep breath and leaned in. The gap between the two was closed and their lips met. Pinkie's heart jolted but her eyes stayed closed. Rainbow's eyes slowly closed as she melted into Pinkie. The fact the Pinkie hadn't pulled away was good. Rainbow finally pulled away and left Pinkie with an open mouth. She looked at her friend. "I know your feeling down, but please don't stay mad. I know you can't. I want you to know that I will always, always be here for you, and I'd try as hard as I can to make you happy." Rainbow said as she looked down. Pinkie attempted to hide a guilty look. Rainbow lifted into the air limply and headed towards the window. "I hope you can reach inside if yourself and find the real Pinkie Pie," Rainbow said. "Because I'm sick of the one you're being." Author's Note Oooooooooooooooooo! That chapter's, next one coming real soon! //-------------------------------------------------------// Smile, Smile, Smile //-------------------------------------------------------// Smile, Smile, Smile Rainbow smiled as she took her milkshake from the counter. She took off into the air while drinking her shake. "Mmmm, nothing like a cold milkshake on a warm summer day." She said to herself. She settled down on a tree branch and sipped the milkshake through the straw. After she finished, she leaned back. Her eyelids drooped and she fell asleep. ~~~~~~~~~~~ The word quickly spread around the Elements Of Harmony (except Pinkie) that Rainbow had a crush on their pink friend. "Oh my goodness, this is...... unexpected." Fluttershy said. "But isn't it great?" Rarity asked. "Yah, ah'm with Rarity on this one." Applejack said. "Thank you, Applejack." Rarity said. "I don't know, it seems a little odd." Twilight said. "Whatever do you mean, darling?" Rarity asked. "They're both mares." Twilight responded. "Odd?" AJ asked. "ODD?!" She shouted. She stormed up to the princess and stuck her hoof at her chest. "Ah speak for all of us here, right?" She looked at Fluttershy. "Oh, um, oh my." She said. Applejack shook her head. "Anyhow, this is a great thing!" She explained. "These two could somehow become lovers one day, and ah bet ya it'd be beautiful!" Twilight stepped backwards. "Listen here sugercube, these two would be undeniably adorable together, don't ya think?" AJ asked. "Yes, but what if they were to get married?" Twilight asked. "They would never be able to have children." Applejack smacked her head. "How does that have anything to do with what we're talkn' 'bout?" She asked. "Applejack does have a point." Rarity pointed out. "And anyhow, if they do get married, that means they truly love each other." She explained. "And anyway, they could adopt a foal, and treat it as their own." Fluttershy said. "Oh! Sorry. Am I interrupting?" "Naw, Fluttershy! Ya made a good point, too!" AJ said. "I-I did?" She asked. "Yes, of course." Rarity said. Applejack walked up to Twilight again. "If ya wanna learn 'bout friendship, here's a lesson for you at write to the princess!" Twilight's ears flattened back. "If one of your friends likes another mare, no matter what, if she's your real friend, ya except who they are and support them!" Applejack snorted. Twilight sighed and looked down. "You're right, Applejack." Twilight said. "I shouldn't doubt them." "Anyway, the reason I've gathered all of you here is so we can bring with two together!" Rarity said. "How do we do that?" Twilight asked. "Well ah dunno, hint at it?" AJ said. "Mmmm, we could try that." Rarity said. "Alright, let's go find Pinkie." Twilight said. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Twilight was leading the her other three friends when she spotted a pink pony walking down the road. "Pinkie!" Twilight called as she cantered over to her friend. "Oh, hey Twilight!" She said. "How have you been?" Twilight asked. "I haven't seen you in awhile." "Oh, I've been just fine." Pinkie lied. Rarity cleared her throat from the back. "Oh, um, do you know how Rainbow's been?" Twilight asked. Pinkie blushed and looked away as her ears flattened. "Auhhhh...... I, auh, she's, um, she's great!" She stammered. "Yeah, she's great!" Rarity raised an eyebrow at Applejack, and she smiled a cocky smile back. "So, seen her lately?" AJ said as she stepped foreward. Sweat formed on Pinkie's forehead. "Um..." She mumbled. "Yes...." "What have you been doing? Twilight asked. Pinkie took a step back. "N-nothing special!" She spat. "Ooohhhh, I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE!" Pinkie shouted. "What, exactly?" Rarity asked. Pinkie took a deep breath. "Yesterday, Dashie might've kissed me...." "WHAT?!" They all shouted. Pinkie responded with- "WHA!" "Dear, what happened?" Rarity asked. "I don't really wanna talk about it." Pinkie said as her cheeks deepened in colour. "Oh dear, we won't pressure you more than we already have." The unicorn said. "Thanks, girls." Pinkie said. "But thing thing is, I'm pretty sure she like likes me, but I don't know if I like her!" "We've been down this alley before." AJ said. "Y-you have?" Pinkie asked. "Yes, Rainbow Dash came to me with the same problem." Twilight said. "She did?" She asked. "Yes," Rarity answered. "And Rainbow dearly cares about you in a marefriend kind of way." "Do ya know how much her life would be complete if you were with her?" Applejack added. Pinkie was silent for a minute before she spoke. "Really?" Pinkie asked. "She really cares about me?" "Go ask her yerself." AJ said. Pinkie looked at the ground and frowned. "Reach deep inside yourself and find the real Pinkie..." She mumbled. "That's it!" She said as her mane seemed a little bit more poofy. "What's it?" Twilight asked. "Reach deep inside herself and find the real Pinkie!" She beamed. "Before she left after she kissed me, that's what she said! The real Pinkie must like Dashie!" She concluded. The four ponies gave confused looks at each other. "How do you know that's right?" Fluttershy spoke up. "Now that we're talking about it, I did seem a little nervous when she was around." Pinkie said. "My cheeks did heat up a lot." Rarity giggled. "Pinkie, I think you have just figured out your answer." The white unicorn said. The party pony nodded with a brave face. "Yeah!" She said. "Have any of you seen Dashie?" She asked. "I think I saw her sleeping in a tree near the milkshake stand on the way here." Fluttershy said. "Thanks, Fluttershy!" Pinkie beamed. "I'll be back." She said before she galloped away. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Pinkie was looking at all the trees around the milkshake stand when a multicolour tail caught her eye. She cantered over and looked up. "Hey Dashie!" She called. "Mmmhhfff..." She mumbled as she woke up from her nap. "Oh, hi Pinks." She said with droopy eyelids. "P-Pinkie! You're...." She paused. "Back to normal!" "Oh, yeah," she said. "Once I realized how much of mopey dopey pony I'd been for the past couple of weeks, I thought of all the fun times I've had!" She said. "Really?" Rainbow asked. "Yeah, you do know how happy fun makes me, right?" Pinkie asked. The pegasus's eyes widened. "Ooooohhhhh yes." Rainbow said, remembering the multiple Pinkies incident. "I realized that it was silly to mourn over a death like that for two weeks!" She said. "You did?" Rainbow asked. "Of course, especially after what you said!" The pink pony said. Dash blushed and looked away. "Can you come down here?" Pinkie asked. "Okay..." Rainbow replied as she floated down to the ground in front of Pinkie. "Look, about that..... Thing you did that night...." Pinkie started. The blue mare blushed. "That....." She said. "I just want you to know, I-I love you too." She said. Rainbow's eyes widened. "Really?" Pinkie nodded. "Oh my gosh, I could just kiss you right now!" Rainbow beamed. Pinkie smiled. "Go ahead." Rainbow looked around (making sure nopony was watching), before shrugging and jumping at Pinkie. Pinkie was caught off guard as she was knocked onto the ground with Rainbow on top of her. Rainbow leaned in and their muzzles locked once more. Pinkie cherished it this time, melting into her new found lover. Across the street, their other four friends' mouths dropped open. "Oh my Celestia!" Rarity beamed. "It's so adorable!!!" "She really did it..." AJ said. After they parted, Rainbow spoke. "My life is complete..." She moaned. Pinkie giggled. "Applejack was right!" Rainbow chuckled and shook her head. Author's Note This is the second last chapter! If you want to end the story here, that's okay. You won't really miss anything. //-------------------------------------------------------// Epilogue: Dear Princess Celestia //-------------------------------------------------------// Epilogue: Dear Princess Celestia Dear Princess Celestia, Hi! It's me, Pinkie Pie! I guess this is a friendship lesson, so here you go! A month ago, my pet alligator, Gummy, died. He was put down when the vet discovered a sickness had taken him over, and was living in pain. My best friend, Dashie, was the first to know about this. I was so devastated, I couldn't do anything. When the day arrived, Dashie was right by my side the whole time, and when Gummy's eyes closed forever. After that, I headed straight for home, and left Dashie in the dust. I immediately went to my room. I sat and did nothing all day. I skipped my shifts, avoided my friends, and barely talked. The day after, Dashie crashed through the window and told me I needed to get out. We hung out, though I barely made a sound. Things happened and one thing led to another, and one day we were swimming together when Dashie took off after an incident. I felt sadness overcome me again, because I thought she was leaving me behind for being sad and un-committing. It had been a few days when Dashie then returned (not crashing through my window this time). I wasn't happy to see her, and we had an argument. Ending the argument, Dashie told me to close my eyes. I had no idea on what to expect. I felt her hooves touch my shoulders, and the next thing I knew, she was kissing me. It felt good, but I had no idea what was going on. When we parted, she looked at me with a sad face. She lifted into the air and said one last thing before flying out the window: 'Reach inside yourself and find the real Pinkie, because I'm sick of the one you're being.' Those words really made me think. Was I really making my friend sick of me? I just then realized how sad ponies must've been because I was basically gone! I thought of all the fun times I've had with friends, family and animals. It made me smile. Next thing I knew, my mane was back to normal: poofy. The next day, I ran into my friends (except Dashie) when I was walking down the street. They basically squeezed it out of me that Dashie kissed me. They gave me advise, and I ran off to find the pegasus. I found Dashie and explained how I loved her back, and we kissed again. So Dashie and I are now marefriends, and we stick up to each other. Though I'll never forgot Gummy, I moved on, and I was happy again! Things in my life were piecing back together. Sometimes at night, I wake up crying from a nightmare that replayed Gummy's death day, but as soon as I wake up, would I feel a warm hoof on my shoulder. I would look over and see magenta eyes looking back at me. Dashie would hug me and kiss my cheek or nose. She'd tell me it was a nightmare, and everything was going to be okay. I'd believe her, because I know it's true, and it always will be. I can now say my life is complete, and so is hers. Even though she has given up on her Wonderbolts dream, she's happy because I'm happy. What I'm getting at is that true friends stick up for you when you're down, and sometimes, it may become even more. From, Pinkie Pie Author's Note The end! Sorry if this chapter was just a summery of the story, but I thought Celestia might want to know!
