She slammed the space bar and the video started. Captions zipped by the bottom screen. Ponies with big eyes and machines on their legs zoomed across the screen. They flew around humungous ponies who were trying to eat them. After she finished the whole season, she looked on social media websites and studied the fandom. Soon, she was digging through explicit fan fiction. Reading every word of the fan- created adventures the characters of her new favorite show, her friend was concerned for her. "Rainbow, you've gained weight and your flying skills have decreased! You need to get out more!" Applejack would scold. "Applejack, I'm totally fine. You should sta-" "I'm never watching such garbage!" "Says the element of honesty," "Are you implying I'm a dirty, cheating, LIAR?" "Do you not remember the time I caught you watching that video?" "That's different!" "Are you sure, honest Applejack?" "I have a job to do, unlike you, who lost theirs over a TV show, so if you would pardon me," Applejack trotted towards the field of apple trees and started kicking the trunks of the trees, making them spill apples into barrels. Rainbow then flew away, making a sly comment, "I have some clouds to bust" "You were fired, in case you didn't know!" Applejack yelled back. She just ignored her comment and headed straight back to her house. Rainbow heard screaming from outside, but it was very feint because she was wearing headphones, listening to fan made music. "Rainbow! Take a break from those darned fictions and get the hay down here!" Applejack screamed. She flew out of her window very slowly, she hadn't been flying in a while. "I want to challenge you to a dare," Applejack depended on the fact that she would never step down from a competition, let alone a dare. Landing surprisingly safely, Rainbow Dash asked, "What's the catch?" "If I win, you have to stop watching that dumb show and stay outside," "Pretty easy," "All day," "Woah, let's not get out of hoof here," Applejack raised an eyebrow at Rainbow. "What if I win?" "Your choice," "hm.... You have to watch the show. With me. All 25 episodes," "Seems fair," She rested her elbow on a tree stump and challenged her to a hoof- wrestle. Rainbow accepted by putting her elbow on the stump as well. A couple minutes of sweat and glaring passed. The two would smirk or glare at each other when they had eye contact. Rainbow slammed her hoof on the right side of the trunk, Applejack's hoof in hers. "All 25 episodes," Rainbow whispered. She flew up to her house and came back down with her laptop. They trotted towards Sweet Apple Acres. "Looks like I'm the 'Iron Pony' for today," she snorted. Applejack was just silent, acknowledging her words, but just wordless at her defeat. Now she had to watch that poison, if only she wasn't so thoughtless. They were finally at the barn, so Applejack pulled out a blanket and put it on a pile of hay. They lie down on the blanket, Rainbow set the laptop in the indentation between them. She tapped the spacebar and the first episode appeared on the screen. It seemed as if she had been planning to watch the series all over again. Captions flew across the bottom of the screen. "Why are there giant ponies?" Applejack said. "Hush," She made willy comments throughout the episode. "I bet the mom is dead," "Yup, the mom is dead," "Called it," "Woah there's another giant pony," "Why are they eating them? They can just eat apples, apples are way better," Soon enough, it was hard to say for her, but she liked the show, and saw why her friend was so addicted. Later, credits spilled on the screen. Rainbow skipped them and tapped the spacebar, and the second episode appeared on the screen. After the 25th episode ended, it was already sundown. Applejack stole a glance at her, and noticed the colors of the beautiful sunset on her farms had reflected on her friend so elegantly. Rainbow looked back at her, and they locked eyes. She closed the laptop, and Applejack closed in on her. Their lips met each other, and they bit each other's lips, and let their spit exchange so smoothly. She wrapped an arm around Applejack, and she bit her neck playfully, saliva dripping from her lips. Rainbow started to get out more often, but get out to Applejack's barn, that is. She had brought her earbuds, laptop, and blanket. Setting it down on a haystack, she looked for Applejack. She trotted into the barn and lay down on the hay with her. She put in one of the earbuds, letting the pony next to her put in the other. Rainbow tapped the space bar, and a golden voice read words to a fiction created by the fan base of her new favorite show. She wrapped an arm around Applejack, and she leaned her head on her shoulder in return. Taking the perfect chance, she stole her hat and put it on her head. She didn't really care, it seemed, because she was so relaxed and happy with her. Instead of saying a word, she rest her head on Applejack's. When they woke up, it was sundown again, and the reading was over. They looked at each other, and she stole back her hat and tapped Rainbow's nose. Her stomach growled right when her muzzle was touched, so Applejack got up and got 2 apples from a crate behind the haystack. She handed her an apple, Rainbow accepting it by taking a big bite out of it, grasping the apple in her mouth, and putting it in her hoof when her teeth sank through and let a chunk into her mouth. They both chuckled, and she gave back the hat to her. The next morning, Rainbow Dash heard a knock at her door. The mail had finally come in. She brought the papers inside and sat on her couch to go through them. First, she separated letters from the manga she ordered. Setting the books aside, she looked through the letters. Most of them were bills, but being a bit more active now, she tore open the envelope. She skimmed the page of taxes and bills. Gazing at the big number, she froze at the total. She never took being fired do seriously, but now she realized how much she needed the big income from it. No way they would let her back in, she has had too many strikes and chances. Grabbing the paper in her mouth, she burst out the window and towards Sweet Apple Acres. "Applejack!" she hollered, causing Applejack herself to gallop towards her. "What's the trouble, sugarcu-" She was interrupted by Rainbow shoving the bill in her face. Staring at the big number, she slowly took off her had and held it to her chest. "And they'll never let me back at the cloud busting shift!" "You could work a bit at the farm and help sell apples," "Good idea, where do I start?" Rainbow ran towards the field of apple trees and starting kicking them randomly. All the apples were falling on the ground, getting bruised. "Bucking the trees with barrels is a good start," Applejack teased. She looked around the field, but there were no barrels. "We need to head to town and sell some apples first," she hauled a harness onto herself and attached a cart to it. Rainbow placed heavy barrels into the cart. They started walking towards Ponyville, but she instead jumped into the cart and started eating a few apples. She realized how strong Applejack was, for she hadn't even flinched when she jumped in. When they arrived in Ponyville, she set up the barrels outside of the stand. She flipped a sign on the side, making it read 'open' and set up another sign in the barrels, reading '2 bits every 4 apples'. Ponies with saddlebags full of groceries stopped when they walked by and always bought some apples. This was unbearably boring for Rainbow, so she zipped up to the sky and started playing in clouds. "Get back down here, darnit!" Applejack yelled. She just flipped the cloud over, and it read, "Apples for cheap price! Right here!". It had an arrow pointing to the stand below. She stole a smirk at her, motioning her to come down. When the day was over, there were barely and apples left in the crates. They started to pack up and walk back to Sweet Apple Acres. Again, Rainbow jumped into the cart and slacked off. They reached the barn, and Applejack gave her half of the earnings. "What? 28 bits?" she complained. "It piles up over time," Applejack replied. Over the next few months, she payed her bill slowly and had lots of bits left over so she can have a healthier life style. Soon enough, she god her job back as weather pony, and everything was normal. Still, at sundown, she would sneak to Applejack's barn and listen to fan fiction with her. Everything was awesome for Rainbow, in fact, with Applejack, she couldn't be happier. All courtesy of Anime.
