Tales of a Contractor

CRASH !!!!!!!. That was the sound that filled my room and could probably be heard in the dining hall. I rolled over and threw off my covers, I sat up and looked at my night stand beside my bed. All that was on that table was a pile of plastic and metal, I looked at my hand then back at the table. I let out a loud groan as I realized what happened. Great I thought Now I have to buy another friggen alarm clock I stood up and cracked my back, I let out a sigh of relief as I walked to the bathroom in my dorm room. I shook off the bits of plastic that were still clinging to my hand and turned off the water to wash my face.

I splashed some of the water on my face and gasped as the almost freezing cold water hit my face, I looked  into the mirror and took in my appearance. As always my silver hair was a mess, and my blue eyes looked dull with sleepiness, I ran my hand over the lightning shaped scar over my eye. I sighed as I heard a series of knocks on my door, I dried my face off with a rag and rubbed the sleep from my eyes and went to see who it was. On my way to the door became aware that the person was still knocking. I sighed as I realized who it was, I walked by my dresser and yanked out a black shirt. I pulled it on and and grabbed my jacket off the coat stand by my door and braced myself for what was about to happen. I got in front of the door and pulled it open, only I went with it as it swung back so I was behind it. I sighed as I saw everyone's favorite draconequus tumble into my room.

"Well that was rude" he said as he stood up and pretended to brush himself off

"Yeah well interrupting me during my morning routine was rude" I retorted

He looked puzzled "Morning routine, oh that's what the crash was"

"Look what do you want headmas----"

"uh-uh-uh" he interrupted

"What do you want Discord"? I said adding emphasis on his name.

"Well thanks for asking" he said with a smile "I want you to come to my office as soon as you can"

By office he meant a huge cavernous looking throne room that looked and probably was bigger on the inside than it is on the outside, can ya blame him he is the spirit of chaos.

"Fine I'll come up as soon as I can" I said with a suppressed sigh

"Come up where"? I heard a regal voice say

"Ah shit" I muttered under my breath, it was way to early for this

"What was that" I heard her say

I turned around put on a fake smile and said "Nothing your Highnesses"

I can't believe that Discord would do thi- actually I can believe that he would do this to me I thought to myself. Right in front of me were both princesses and behind them was Discord looking completely smug. What could they possibly want, today's Saturday it's supposed to be my day off I thought again.I was broke from my thoughts when I saw a hand waving in front of my face I looked up and saw the owner of the hand was none other that Princess Luna

"I said step up here with us and turn around" Celestia said as Luna walked back to be beside her giggling

I grinned sheepishly and stepped up on the step just below them. I watched as Celestia used her magic to open the doors, when they were open six girls about sixteen walked in. Several words were said but I really wasn't paying attention, I seem to be doing that a lot lately. I heard a cough from beside me and I looked up in surprise. I looked over and saw Celestia looking at me with an aggravated look on her face with Luna behind her pointing at me and giggling, the she pointed at the group of five girls. Wait five weren't there six a minute ago

"HI I'M PINKIE PIE, WHAT'S YOUR NAME, I'M SIXTEEN, HOW OLD ARE YOU, ALSO HOW DID YOU GET THAT WEIRD LOOKING SCAR OVER YOUR EYE" I jumped in surprise and barely managed to keep from falling down the steps

I turned around and saw a girl about 5'9 with a light pink shirt on and blue pants, pink tennis shoes and pink puffy hair. Huh Pinkie Pie, I get it I thought to myself. As I was thinking I heard the sound of laughter from behind me, not wanting to let them get  the satisfaction of see me flustered I answered.

"In that order, my name is Spirit Wisp I'm seventeen, and as for the scar I-"

"He will explain that in a second if you would join your friends" Celestia interrupted me mid-sentence

"Okie dokie lokie" Pinkie Pie said as she literally skipped back to her friends.

"Okay Twilight I told you to meet us here two days ago, I assume you did some research on the academy since then, why don't you tell us what you learned" Celestia said to Twilight

The one called Twilight, a girl with long indigo hair with a pink streak through the middle beamed and said  "Well the academy is a place where contractors learn to use their abilities"

"Very good Twilight" Celestia praised her  "now tell me what is a contractor"? Celestia asked

At this Twilight's brow furrowed, "Well not much is known about contractors" she said with a frown "But what I was able to find said that they made deals with spirit and gains their power"

"Like, ghosts"? One of them, a girl with rainbow colored hair said

"Not really Dash, by spirits I mean spirits like Discord" Twilight said gesturing towards said draconequus.

"Very good Twilight" Celestia said with a smile "Now how about I formally introduce you all"

"Spirit Wisp this is Applejack"

"Nice ta meet ya" a blonde Earth Walker girl with a stetson, a red flannel shirt, and jeans on said to me

"Rainbow Dash" Celestia said gesturing to the rainbow haired girl from before

"Sup" she said, she was a Valkyrie wearing sky a blue hoodie, black pants, and a cyan shirt.

"Fluttershy"

"U-um n-nice to meet you" a girl in a yellow dress said as she attempted to hide behind her light pink hair

"You've already met Pinkie Pie"  Celestia said stifling a giggle.

"HI"! Pinkie yelled at the top of her lungs.

"Twilight" Celestia said with a hint of affection

"Hi" Twilight said politely

"And last but not least Rarity"

Rarity said nothing for a second, she looked at me like a cat looks at a mouse, she finally said "Nice to meet you".

"Now that your introduced how about we eat" Discord said for the first time today

Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie yelled out "YES"!

Discord snapped his fingers and suddenly the ten of us were sitting at a banquet table with food lined up from end to end. Everything looked and smelled delicious. I grabbed some of everything and started chowing down. I was sort of listening to the conversation, most of it was Rainbow Dash talking about new tricks or stunts she was practicing. Then Twilight started talking about  magical theory. Now I'm an Earth Walker but the concept of magic always fascinated me, so I did the only thing I could, I studied magical theory

"Now if you could spark the latent magic that lies within Earth Walkers and Valkyries then that would in theory make them be able to use magic like a Mage" Twilight said

Before she could continue I said "Actually Twilight if you tried to activate the latent magic within Earth Walkers and Valkyries then it would most likely kill them because it would activate all at once and since unlike Mages who have had years to adjust to their growing magic it would literally burn them up"

Twilight, Celestia, and Luna all looked at me in surprise "Honestly Twilight I'm shocked that you forgot to mention that" I said before I could stop myself.

Twilight looked at me and opened her mouth to say something, then closed it again "I think you broke her" Pinkie said giggling.

"Oh my god you're and egg head" Rainbow Dash managed to say in between laughs

I felt my cheeks redden in embarrassment and I wished I could take back what I said.

"And that brings us to why you're all here" Celestia said recovering from her shock

"Yes yes, see you're all here, Twilight especially to tutor Spirit Wisp here" Discord said waving his paw in my direction.

"But he successfully countered one of my arguments, about MAGIC, how could he need a tutor"???!!!! Twilight asked

"Well, see Spirit only does well in two subjects" Celestia said

"Yeah he does well in Magical theory and um......... what's the other one"? Luna said slash asked.

"Practical application of Contractor magic" I said answering Luna's question

"Yes see that's why he needs your help, he needs friends" Discord said matter of factually

At seeing the looks Celestia and Luna gave he said "What to soon"?

Celestia and Luna both let out an exasperated sigh, they then started to whisper among themselves. I sighed and banged my head on the table multiple time which prompted a few laughs from the girls.This is gonna be a long day I thought to myself
