//-------------------------------------------------------// Midnight Romance -by CDC-pony- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 Thomas looked over at the clock on his old wooden writing desk. The bright neon numbers displayed 8:45 pm. It happened again, another whole day wasted sitting at his writing desk. It was starting to become an everyday thing; wake up,take a shower, eat breakfast and then sit at his writing desk trying to get ideas. Another thing that was becoming routine was scrapping paper after paper filled with bad ideas or something blatantly copied. Only this morning did he finally admit that he had run out of ideas. Writers Block, one of the most feared problems among authors. He couldn't believe it, he had never had writers block in his whole career as a author. Sure he was only 25 but he had been writing for over 5 years now. This couldn't happen to him, not now in the prime of his career. Suddenly there was a knock at his door. "I wonder who that could be?" Thomas pondered, as he headed towards his apartments front door. When he finally answered he was met with the sight of his two best friends, Jordan and Michael. "Wow Thomas you look even worse than we thought" Jordan said. "We haven't seen you in about a week and were wondering if something happened to you?" "Seriously Thomas have you even looked at your self lately?" Micheal asked Thomas quickly walked over to the mirror in his hallway and checked his reflection. He was an average guy standing at about five feet and eleven inches. He was very skinny and looked like he had been underfed. His short blonde hair was sticking up in random places and you could see the bags under his eyes only slightly concealed by his signature grey framed glasses.  "I haven't looked lately but I have just been here, working on my stories, but not really having any luck." Thomas replied. "Well we have the perfect solution for you then, do you want to come drinking with me and Jordan?" Michael asked. "I normally don't drink but I really could use a pick-me-up right now, so i'm in." Thomas answered The three friends than traveled to a bar just a few blocks away. It was called the High Flying Bar. After arriving the three friends were seated in a booth in the back corner of the bar. Soon the drinks were flowing and the night was just starting to begin. Normally Thomas wouldn't be the type of guy to go out and get drunk, but the writers block had him down and he just wanted to have a fun night out with his friends. After about the fourth or fifth shot of rum, Thomas couldn't even walk straight. He realized it was time for him to leave and bid his friends farewell. He never realized how much his life would change by walking home alone this night. Just a block away from his house Thomas finally collapsed and passed out from all the alcohol he had drunken. "Uggh remind me to never let Jordan convince me to drink that much ever again." Thomas told himself as he slowly woke up from his drunken slumber. However as he continued to wake up he felt cold tile against his body. Thomas was sure that he hadn't fallen asleep on his kitchen floor again. He went to stand up but immediately fell back down to the floor with a loud THUMP! He then heard some very loud footsteps coming his direction. "Who is there?" Thomas called out. What Thomas didn't expect was a large white horse like creature to come into the room that he was in. The horse was about your average sized horse but Thomas quickly realized that this horse had wings and a horn on top of its head. Thomas panicked and screamed while scooting away from the horse like creature as quickly as he could. "Calm down my little pony, you should not be afraid of me," the horse replied to him. " I shouldn't be afraid?" Thomas asked, " You are a horse and you are talking, I think I should be afraid, besides where am I and how did i get here?" "Excuse me but I am not a talking horse I am Princess Celestia of Equestria and you should treat me as such, as for you we are currently in Canterlot Castle in the throne room." Celestia answered. "Equestria?, where is that and why am I having troubles standing up?" Thomas asked. "Equestria is the land you are currently in and you shouldn't be having troubles standing because I healed you up after you appeared here and hour ago." Celestia replied "Just get up on your hooves and I can start asking you some questions." "Hooves, I don't have hooves..." Thomas replied as he looked down and noticed the blue fur and white hooves that were in front of him. "This must be some type of crazy alcohol induced dream," Thomas stated. "I assure you this is no dream young one," Celestia stated. "This has to be a dream there is no such thing as talking horses!" Thomas then looked at himself again. He still had white hooves and blue fur. This couldn't be happening to me! " Is there a mirror around anywhere that I could look at?" Thomas asked. Celestia then led him to a mirror just across the room. Thomas was a bit unsteady at first while walking on four legs but managed to make it over to the mirror to take a look at himself. Once he walked up he was shocked at what he saw. Standing in the mirror was a navy blue pegasus pony with a pair of grey framed glasses. The pony had a white mane with grey streaks in it and was even wearing a grey bow tie. Thomas could not believe what he was seeing in the mirror. Was this really him or was this some sort of crazy dream? It seems like he would have to find out later because after about a minute of looking in the mirror, Thomas passed out from the sheer shock he was experiencing.
