The library was dark, and Twilight Sparkle looked over the regents for the spell she needed to cast. She needed Fly Amanita, Bone Meal, Blue Butterfly Wings, Ancestor Moth Wings, and a Human Heart. She had all of the regents except for the Human Heart, but she had no idea what a human was, or where to get one of their hearts. She contemplated asking Princess Celestia for help, but, no, she couldn't, this was a test, you can't exactly ask the teacher to solve a problem for you on a test, could you? Twilight decided to just cast the spell without the Heart, and hope for the best. Her horn lit up as she charged up the spell.
“Damn, this spell is tougher than I thought it would be.” Twilight muttered through clenched teeth. Twilight heard muffled yells coming from outside the books and branches, but she paid them no mind. She needed to focus on the spell. The spell was almost ready. The yells grew louder, and a scream, followed by many more screams. Twilight was tempted to stop the spell and see what was going on, but then, she thought,
‘Oh, this must be part of the test, Princess Celestia must want to test my concentration.’ She continued charging the spell. Within minutes, the spell was fully charged. There was another yell, this time right outside the library. There was a crash and somepony slammed into Twilight, inadvertently making Twilight cast the spell. Twilight and the assailant vanished in a burst of violet light, right before creatures of an unknown origin burst through the door. The creatures roared with an unimaginable rage when they found that their prey had escaped.
“Miss. Sparkle!!! Are you ok?” Twilight heard faintly. Twilight’s eyes fluttered open, to see a pair of golden, crossed eyes, right in front of her face.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!” Twilight screamed, scooting away from the pony in front of her. She backed up against a tree, where she got a good look at said pony. The pegasus mare in front of her had a blond mane, grey fur and feathers, and golden crossed eyes.
“Oh, Derpy, thank Celestia, it’s you.” Twilight said relieved. A bird tweeted in the distance, making both mares jump. Twilight looked around, trying to figure out where they were. They were in a forest, but the sun was shining between the trees, so it wasn't the Everfree.
“Hmm, we might be in Whitetail Woods.” Twilight said to Derpy, who shook her head vigorously.
“I don't think so Miss. Sparkle” Derpy said, pointing behind Twilight. Twilight turned around and gasped loudly in shock. Behind her was a house. Normally, that would not be strange, but there were no houses in Whitetail Wood. Even stranger, there were metal carriage-like things sitting in front of the house.
Suddenly, the door to the house opened and the most peculiar of creatures walked out of the door. It was bipedal. had hair on its head, and wore clothes all over its body. It closed the door before walking towards them.
“Derpy! Hide!” Twilight hissed at her companion, before jumping behind a tree. Derpy looked around, then jumped behind a rock. Twilight and Derpy heard footsteps approaching them. They stopped, and a male voice called,
“Is there anyone out here? I heard a scream, and I was wondering if anyone was hurt.” There was a pause, then the footsteps walked closer. Twilight tried to make herself invisible, but nothing happened.
“WHAT!? WHY ISN'T MY MAGIC WORKING?!?!?” Twilight screamed, before clapping her hooves over her mouth, but it was too late. The creature walked around the tree and froze when it saw Twilight. Twilight gulped, and prepared herself for her fate. But she wasn't prepared for what the creature did.
“Twilight Sparkle…” He muttered, before wobbling and falling to the ground.
5 minutes earlier…
“God damn it…” I muttered as I zombies killed me again on Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare. I restarted the game, and began riding towards El Paso, when I heard an explosion. Normally, that would not be strange, considering the games I play. But this explosion was in the real world, which was really strange.
I paused the game and got up in a rush. I heard a scream and I ran towards the door. I threw an hoodie and my shoes on and ran out the door. In the distance, I could see shapes of small quadrupeds.
I turned around to close the door, and when I turned around again, the shapes were gone. I blinked in surprise. Where had they gone? I walked towards the place that I had seen the shapes. When I had gotten to the clearing, I called out: “Is there anyone out here? I heard a scream, and I was wondering if anyone was hurt.” There was no answer, so I decided to look around.
“WHAT!? WHY ISN'T MY MAGIC WORKING?!?!?” I heard a very familiar voice yell from the other side of the tree.
“It can't be…” I said in disbelief. I rounded the tree and froze. There she was, Twilight Sparkle. I was awestruck, so I said the most elegant thing I could in my state. “Twilight Sparkle…” I wobbled, fell over, and fainted.
I woke to water splashing in my face. “BLURLUR!!” I babbled, trying to reorient myself. When I finally reoriented myself, I looked around. I was on the couch in the living room. But what surprised me even more was that Twilight Sparkle was standing over me, looking slightly concerned. I sat up, and stared at her. Her look went from concerned to uncomfortable. “I'm dreaming.” I told myself. “I am dreaming that Twilight Sparkle is in my living room.” Now her look went from uncomfortable, to confused.
“Why would you think that you are dreaming?” She asked me.
“Because you are not real.” I responded, still staring at her.
“I’m not real? I’m standing right in front of you!” She exclaimed.
“Thats why I know I’m dreaming.” I responded again.
“Why do you think I’m not real, and will you stop staring at me!” She exclaimed. I looked away, my face red.
“Sorry. I know you’re not real, because you are part of a TV show, My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic.” I told her.
“What is that, and also, what is your name?” Twilight asked.
“My name is John Smith and one second.” I told her. I got up off the couch, and turned off Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare, and turned on Netflix. I started up My Little Pony and turned the pilot episode.
“Wait a minute.” She told me and I paused the show. “DERPY!!” She yelled. There were crashes from upstairs, and then a grey pegasus mare came down the stairs. Derpy came to the living room, and my heart melted when I saw her.
“How many others came with you?” I asked.
“None, only us two.” Twilight said.
“Ok, are you ready to watch?” I asked. They nodded, and I sat on the couch and played the episode. Twilight and Derpy sat there dumbstruck. Their whole life was depicted on TV. After the two pilot episodes finished, Twilight and Derpy were silent.
“H-how is this possible?” Twilight finally said.
“I have a theory, or at least, my friend does. He told me that every single piece of fiction is created, no offense, becomes it’s own dimension. So when the people on earth created My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic, you became real in your own dimension. I’m guessing a spell was botched somehow, and the two of you ended up here in my dimension.” I said. Twilight was thoughtful for a second.
“But that might also mean that the dimension that we are in now might just be fiction in another dimension.” She said.
“Huh, I never thought about that.” I said. I glanced at Derpy, who was still staring slack jawed at the TV. “Hey, Derpy, are you ok?” I asked her, waving a hand in front of her face. She jumped backwards and looked at me.
“Huh? Yeah, I’m fine. It’s just, weird, seeing our lives as entertainment.” She said. I tried not to stare at her eyes too much.
“Hey, Derpy-” I started
“Bubbles.” She said. Twilight looked confused.
“Bubbles? Who’s Bubbles?” She asked.
“Bubbles is Derpy’s real name, isn't it Bubbles?” I asked Bubbles. She smiled and nodded.
“Anyway, Bubbles, I was going to ask what happened to make your eyes cross eyed.” I said to Bubbles. Her smile vanished, and was replaced with a sad frown. “I understand if you don't want to talk about it right now.” I added quickly.
“Yeah, you're right, I really don't want to talk about it now, maybe later, but not now.” I was about to respond, but I heard a car door slam from the driveway.
“Oh, crap! My family is home!” I groaned. “Well, I guess the only thing to do is to have you guys meet them. Follow me.” I led them to the Dining room. “Wait here until I say to come in ok?” I asked them. They nodded. “Good.” I walked into the mudroom, right as the door opened. “Hey guys.” I said.
“Hey John.” My sister Sapphire said to me.
“Hey son.” My dad Jacob replied.
“Hey John.” My mom Amber said. I knew that there was no time to tell them like the present.
“So, you guys know I like My Little Pony, right?” I asked them. They nodded. “OK, girls, come in!” I called to the other room. My family looked confused, then those looks of confusion turned into looks of shock when they saw Twilight and Bubbles.
“Uh, hello?” Twilight said nervously. My family stood there, shocked frozen.
