So here is what really happened to the changelings. Long ago there was no such thing as a changeling. They were very nice, kind, creatures. They were light purples, pinks, yellows, greens and blues. They had beautiful curly manes, small horns and gorgeous wings that were similar to those of a fairy. They lived in peace with Equestria and its people. They were constantly overwhelmed with love and they used their magic for nothing but good. Until one day, a huge storm struck Equestria. Something about the storm made the nice creatures turn horribly wrong. Some sort of reaction inside of them changed them completely. Their kindness and love turned to hatred and greed, things that they were so unfamiliar to it even changed their appearances. They were now the changelings we know today. They got hungry for love that they did now not receive. And stealing love from others only made them stronger and more greedy. But there is hope for them. Many changelings were freed and turned into unicorns or even allicorns! The only way they can be freed is if somepony loves them for who they are: a changeling. Believe it or not, Princess Celestial was a changeling once. She was freed by someone who knew she was just one of the nice creatures he had once known and loved , and that someone was Discord!
