Scootaloo was in the kitchen, doing the dishes. It was 5:00 in the morning and not even a single ray of sun was shining. She wasn't doing them on purpose, either. She was doing them because her mother, Light Cloud, was making her do it. Her mother was at work, but still made her do them. Scootaloo would do the dishes before she went to bed, then would get woken up by her mother to do them again. The reason was, Light Cloud would make herself some breakfast, then put her dishes in the sink and then wake Scootaloo up to do the dishes. She would wake Scootaloo up once with her yelling, then if she needed to wake her a second time, she would grab a cable. You finish the puzzle

Scootaloo finally finished the dishes, but then sat down in a chair at the kitchen table. She looked at the clock. 5:30.The Sun was going to come up in thirty minutes. Instead of going back to sleep, she prayed to Celestia. She prayed that her mother would stop treating her like garbage and love her. That her father, Dark Cloud, would come back and take her with him. All she wanted was to be loved. She cried into her hooves loudly, not even caring about how loud she was. She never had anything to love. She used to have a pet. It was a dog. She named him Sledge. Sledge was a seven year old golden retriever. Sledge was a birthday present from Dark Cloud. Talk about true friends. She and Sledge were love at first sight. Scootaloo always fed him, played with him, and even housebroke him herself. It was like Sledge was her brother. But after her father's death, Light Cloud gave Sledge away. Scootaloo was very torn up about that.

Scootaloo was then blinded by a light. She looked out the window. The Sun was up. It was Saturday. Some fillies would think a Saturday was a good day, but to Scootaloo, it was just more time to spend with her mother, doing chores and taking blows. Scootaloo really didn't want to stay with Light Cloud, but she knew if she left, she would eventually be found and abused. Her stomach growled loudly. She wanted some breakfast. She went over to the refrigerator and opened it. Her mouth watered at the sight of many sweets in there she wasn't allowed to touch. The fridge was full of gelatin, pudding, chocolate, even cheesecake, which was her favorite food. She tried to resist, but the urge was too strong. She took out a chocolate chip cheesecake. She grabbed a knife and cut herself a very tiny piece. After washing the knife and putting the rest of the cheesecake back in the fridge, she ate the piece of cheesecake. She sighed at the very sweet flavor. She knew this was probably going to be her only chance of getting even close to another piece.

However, that's when the front door opened. It was her mother. Light Cloud stared at Scootaloo with anger.

"What are you doing in my kitchen?!", she said. Scootaloo started to shake.

"N-nothing, Mom", she said. Light Cloud raised her eyebrow.

"Really? Well, why is the fridge open? And why do you have something around your mouth?" Scootaloo noticed the sweet cream cheese still around her mouth.

"I... I..."

"You were in my cheesecake, weren't you?!" Light Cloud grabbed a spatula and pounced at Scootaloo. Holding her down, she brought the spatula over and over to Scootaloo's flank. Scootaloo cried in pain.

"I'm sorry I'm sorry!!"

"Shut up!" The beating continued for a while, then stopped. Scootaloo was still crying from the pain. It even hurt to sit down. Her flank was even bleeding lightly. Scootaloo couldn't take anymore of this. The second Light Cloud turned around, Scootaloo ran out the front door. The last thing she heard was, "SCOOTALOO!!!!!!!".

Scootaloo ran for her life, not even daring to look back.

Scootaloo, after running for a while, hid in an alley, hoping she wasn't followed. She didn't even think her mother cared. Scootaloo might have escaped, but she didn't know what to do. She couldn't fly, and she knew she couldn't afford a train ticket. Scootaloo hid in the alley for a bit. After about twenty minutes she knew she was safe. Scootaloo walked out of the alley. Right then, she stepped on something hard. She looked down, seeing a bit. She smiled and pick the coin up. Putting it in her mane, she walked away. She needed somewhere to go. That's when she come across a very familiar place. It was Fluttershy's Cottage.

She smiled. Fluttershy was the kindest pony Scootaloo knew. Scootaloo wanted to go into her cottage, but she didn't know if she should. Fluttershy could be asleep, or not wanted to be disturbed. Scootaloo knew this. However, she then got into paranoid that her mother was looking for her. She decided to go.

She walked past the gate carefully, not wanting to step on the grass and crush it. Eventually, she made it past the plants and to the house. She was about to knock, but recoiled from it. Should she really do this? She knew that if she told Fluttershy why she was there, she probably wouldn't be able to take it well. That's when a very delicious smell passed her muzzle, making her mouth water heavily. Fluttershy definitely wasn't asleep. She was cooking breakfast. The smell was wonderful. So wonderful, Scootaloo decided to go in. She knocked on the door. About thirty seconds later, Fluttershy's bunny, Angel, opened the door.

"Hey, Angel", Scootaloo said, "Is Fluttershy around?"

"Yeah", he said, "She's in the kitchen". Scootaloo raised her eyebrow.

"You can talk?!"

"Yes. Twilight Sparkle gave me the ability of speech for my birthday".

"Oh. Well, happy belated birthday, Angel. So, can I go see Fluttershy?".

"Thanks, Scootaloo. And yeah. Go ahead". He pushed the door open some more so Scootaloo could enter. Scootaloo walked into the house and into the kitchen. Sure enough, Fluttershy was in there, cooking breakfast. Fluttershy looked at Scootaloo and smiled.

"Good morning, Scootaloo!", she said.

"Morning, Fluttershy", Scootaloo said.

"What brings you here?"

"Well, I was wondering if I could join you and Angel for breakfast".

"Sure. I don't mind. Do you mind, Angel Bunny?"

"Nope", Angel said, "It's been a while since we've had guests over, anyway".

"Then it's settled!", Fluttershy said, "Breakfast is almost ready. Scootaloo, you could sit down at the table or on the couch in the living room if you like".

"OK", Scootaloo said, "Thanks, Fluttershy!" Scootaloo walked into the living room and sat down easily. Her flank was still hurting from the spatula. She rested her back against the back of the couch and sighed. The comfortable couch felt good. She wasn't allowed to sit in any of the couches at her own house, and her mother had seven of them. Scootaloo just relaxed and watched the other animals in the living room play, chirp, and do what they usually do. She didn't mind. In fact, she liked the presence of the other animals. She felt welcome. At that point, Angel came hopping in with a chess game. He sat down on his beanbag that was next to the coffee table.

"Hey, Scootaloo", he said, "I figured you might be a little bored, so I got something to entertain you with. Do you know how to play chess?"

"Yeah", Scootaloo said.

"Well, I'm challenging you to a game right now!"

"You're on!"

Five minutes later...

"Checkmate!", Scootaloo yelled. Angel examined the board. Sure enough, Scootaloo won. Angel then had an evil grin on his face.

"Hey, look over there!", he said. Scootaloo looked behind her, then turned back around.

"I don't see anyth-". She noticed the game pieces scattered on the board and some on the floor. She looked at Angel with a raised eyebrow. "Did you mess the game up?"

"It wasn't me", Angel said, "It was an earthquake". Scootaloo chuckled lightly.

"Very funny, Angel".

"Scootaloo, Angel", Fluttershy called from the kitchen, "Breakfast is ready". Scootaloo and Angel went into the kitchen. Fluttershy was setting the kitchen table. "You may sit". Scootaloo sat in a chair that was thankfully cushioned, and Angel hopped onto the table. Angel ate on the table because he wasn't tall enough to reach the table from a chair. Fluttershy gave Angel his favorite salad. She then gave Scootaloo some breakfast. Scootaloo's mouth watered. Her plate contained two large chocolate chip pancakes, scrambled eggs, and a small pile of hay bacon. After getting a glass of orange juice from Fluttershy, Scootaloo began eating. The three ate silently, then Angel started a conversation.

"So, Scootaloo", he said, "How have you been doing?"

"Fine", Scootaloo said.

"School going OK?", Fluttershy asked.

"Yes".

"Good".

"Hey, Angel", Scootaloo said.

"Yes?", Angel said.

"How come you wanted to be able to speak?"

"Well, as you know, bunnies don't really make noise, and Fluttershy couldn't really understand what I was trying to say. So that was my birthday wish".

"Oh. Cool".

"Oh, and there's one more thing I want to tell you, since you're a friend of Fluttershy's".

"What is it?", Scootaloo said. Angel blushed lightly.

"Me and Fluttershy are dating", he said. Scootaloo nearly choked on her orange juice after hearing this.

"Really?!"

"Yes", Fluttershy said, "He said he loved me and we started a relationship". Scootaloo smiled.

"Well, congratulations you two!" She rubbed Angel's head, making his left hind leg stamp on the table.

"Thanks for that", he said after receiving his massage. The three soon finished their breakfast and got up from the table.

"That was a wonderful breakfast", Fluttershy said, "Scootaloo, you can stay for a little longer if you like, or you can leave".

"Can I stay for a little longer?", Scootaloo asked.

"You may. Angel has a 'bunny cave' (man cave) in the attic. You can spend some time up there if he doesn't mind".

"I don't", Angel said, "I was about to go up there myself. Follow me". Angel hopped down the hallway and Scootaloo followed. On the way there, Scootaloo noticed a door the had a lock-pad on it.

"Hey, Angel", she said. Angel stopped hopping and looked at Scootaloo.

"What's up?", he said.

"I was just wondering why this door has a lock-pad on it. Is it private?"

"Well, yes. It's very private, but since you're a friend, I'll tell you. That's a nursery".

"Well, why would a nursery have to be private? It's just a room for a foal".

"Well, Fluttershy is an infantalist. She likes to act like a foal".

"Really?"

"Yes, so that nursery contains adult foal stuff. She only uses it when she's alone or with me".

"Oh. That explains it".

"You didn't hear this from me, OK?"

"OK".

The two walked past the nursery and went up into the bunny cave.

Fifteen hours later...

Angel and Scootaloo spent a full fifteen hours in the cave, played video games and having refreshments. No wonder that room was in the attic. After a while, Scootaloo decided to leave and so did Angel.

The went back down into the living room. Fluttershy was sitting in the couch reading a book. She put her book down and smiled.

"Did you have fun?", she asked Scootaloo.

"Yeah!", Scootaloo said.

"OK, Scootaloo", Fluttershy said, "You may want to head back home now. Your parents may be worried sick about you".

"Can I please stay for a little longer? Please?"

"OK, Scootaloo", Fluttershy said, "A little longer". Scootaloo smiled and hugged Fluttershy.

"Thanks, Fluttershy", she said.

"Your very welcome, Scootaloo". They hugged for a while, but then, Angel noticed something..

"Umm... Scootaloo", he said, "What is that?" He was pointing to her flank. Scootaloo's eyes went big.

"Uh... What is what?"

"What is that?" He hopped over to her and raised her tail, exposing the huge bruise and and small cut on her flank. Fluttershy noticed this, too. Scootaloo was very desperate to decide a lie.

"Uh... Scooter accident. I ran into a gate".

"Scootaloo", Angel said, "I know you're lying. Plus, I fell off of a cliff and didn't get a bruise that big. What really happened?"

"Yes", Fluttershy said. Scootaloo knew she was in a tight spot. Tears formed in her eyes and she buried her face in Fluttershy's coat. Both Angel and Fluttershy hugged her.

"Scootaloo", Fluttershy said, "You can tell us. It's OK". Scootaloo looked at Fluttershy, then at Angel.

"You really want to know?", she said.

"Yeah, Scootaloo", Angel said.

"Yes", Fluttershy said, "The truth". Scootaloo took a deep breath.

"I... I'm being abused!". Both Angel and Fluttershy gasped.

"By who?!", Angel said.

"M-my mom". Scootaloo began to cry loudly into Fluttershy's coat. Fluttershy rubbed the filly's back.

"Scootaloo", she said, "Please. Can you tell me why?".

"She does it for no reason. She blames me for my daddy's death. She has treated me like that ever since her died. I've been getting abused for three years. Daddy loved me! He even got me a dog. But after Daddy died, Mom gave him away! The reason I came here was for two reasons: I was hungry and because I didn't want to stay with her! I haven't eaten in like a week. That is, until you gave me breakfast. The cut and bruise on my flank was from when she beat me with a spatula.I wanted to just spend time with somepony else!". She was completely heartbroken and cried loudly into Fluttershy's coat. Fluttershy rubbed her back, calming her down a little.

"Shh... It's OK, Sweetie. You're safe with me", Fluttershy said. Scootaloo smiled.

"Umm... Fluttershy? Angel?", she said.

"Yes?", they both said. Can I stay the night with you?"

"Well", Fluttershy said, "I don't know if there's enough room".

"She could sleep with you, Fluttershy", Angel said, "I'll just sleep on the couch".

"Are you sure, Angel Bunny?"

"Yeah".

"OK".

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Angel was asleep on the couch and Scootaloo and Fluttershy were having cookies and milk before bed and chatting among themselves. After their snack, they went up to Fluttershy's room.
"Scootaloo?", Fluttershy said.
"Yes, Fluttershy?", Scootaloo said, her voice sounding very groggy.
"It may get a little chilly over night. Do you wanna borrow some pajamas?" Scootaloo simply nodded. She really wanted to have a good night sleep. Fluttershy went over to her closet and pulled out a robe. She put it on Scootaloo. It was pretty big. "Oh... don't worry. We'll get you one tomorrow". She laid down on the bed and Scootaloo laid down next to her.
"Umm... Fluttershy?", Scootaloo said.
"Yes, Scootaloo?", Fluttershy said.
"Can I... cuddle with you?", Scootaloo said. Fluttershy smiled and nodded. Scootaloo moved close to Fluttershy and snuggled into her coat. Fluttershy draped her wing around Scootaloo like a blanket and then pulled the real blanket over Scootaloo and herself. Scootaloo was warm and safe, but she didn't think she could sleep.
"Fluttershy? Can you... sing to me?".
"You mean you want me to sing you a lullaby?"
"Yes, please".
Fluttershy smiled and began singing "Hush Now, Quiet Now" in a soft voice. Scootaloo could feel her heart fluttering at her beautiful voice. Scootaloo snuggled into Fluttershy's coat.
"I love you, Fluttershy", she said before falling asleep. Fluttershy was shocked. Scootaloo said she loved her. She was flattered. She cuddled Scootaloo.
"I love you too, Scootaloo", she said. She fell asleep with a smile on her face.
