//-------------------------------------------------------// Luna's Lament -by RavenBlazeMarvel- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Diary Of Princess Luna //-------------------------------------------------------// The Diary Of Princess Luna Luna went over to her chest of drawers and pulled out some ink and a quill. She levitated the quill and ink, put them on her bed, and went back over to her chest of drawers. Instead of pulling something else out, Luna pulled the chest towards her with her magic, and pushed it aside. Behind it was a small vault. Luna cast a spell on the vault, and it swung open. Inside was a diary with a crescent moon on the front. She pulled out the diary, put every thing back in place, and cracked open the diary. A small cloud of dust puffed in her face, and she coughed, but ignored it. It had been long ago when Luna had last wrote in her diary. She was just a little filly. Luna smiled at the memories. She quickly skimmed over her few entries, and then started to write. She wrote down everything she was thinking about. How nopony ever paid attention to her, how they never appreciated the night, how they always loved her perfect sister. She was so angry, so alone. Why did nopony appreciate her? Why did nopony appreciate the night? Luna broke down in tears, right then and there, on her bed. She cried and cried, and couldn't understand why everypony never liked her, or paid any attention to her. No, I need to stay strong, even if everypony never pays attention to thy, she told herself. But she knew that was a lie. She had to escape this nightmare. She had to be alone. //-------------------------------------------------------// Betrayal //-------------------------------------------------------// Betrayal Luna looked at herself in her mirror. She didn't even know what she was anymore. Something evil was sewn into Luna's heart and soul. Something black as smoke. Something pure evil. Dark. Dark had rested herself and her fellow Nightmare Forces into Luna's heart and soul. They had taken over. "Do it, Luna," whispered Dark in Luna's head. Luna knew what she had to do. In a fit of rage she ran as fast as she could into the throne room of her castle. It wouldn't be Celestia's much longer anymore. Luna trotted up the steps to her throne. Celestia stood feet away, about to yell and run toward her, but Luna stopped her in her tracks. "Not another step," Luna said sinisterly. "Did you really expect me to sit idly by why they all basked in your precious light?" shouted Luna. Celestia didn't know what was going on. What was Luna so mad about? "There can only be one princess in Equestria, and that princess shall be ME!" Luna screamed. She smashed her hooves into the railing and flew upwards. Luna raised the moon over the sun, blotting it out. Suddenly, Dark tore herself out of Luna with a jolt and flew around her like a tornado. The others came, and Celestia stared in horror as Luna was surrounded by a ball of black and purple smoke. The Nightmare Forces shot away in wisp of simple smoke, but Celestia didn't notice. Something more sinister stood before her. This was no longer Princess Luna. A black pony with smoke-like blue mane hovered in front of her. She had pointed, sharp teeth and black cat like pupils, along with a silver helmet, shoes, and breast plate. "Hahaha, hahaha!" shouted the mare. "Luna, you must lower the moon!" yelled Celestia. "Luna? I am Nightmare Moon!" Nightmare Moon declared triumphantly. She laughed crazily, then shot a light blue ray at Celestia. Celestia dodged it,and stared at Nightmare Moon. What had happened to Luna? What did Luna not tell her? Nightmare Moon's horn glowed and a burst of bluish silver light carved a large crack in the ceiling. Celestia did not want to fight her own sister. She flew through the crack and out into the night. "And where do you think you're going?" Nightmare Moon screeched as she took off after Celestia. Celestia hovered just feet away from  Nightmare Moon. Nightmare Moon's eyes glowed white, and bluish silver sparks flew around Nightmare Moon's hooves. Nightmare Moon suddenly shot out a ray headed straight for Celestia's heart. //-------------------------------------------------------// Alone //-------------------------------------------------------// Alone Princess Luna stood on the balcony outside her bedroom. It was dusk, and she was about to raise the moon. But she didn't want to. She just wanted one FULL day of night. Or at least something. Everypony always basked and played in Celestia's day, but always slept and ignored her night. She was never hardly paid any attention to. They always looked at her perfect sister, never at her. They never were grateful for her night. "Luna, is something bothering you?" said a voice. Luna whipped around to see her sister, Princess Celestia, standing in the balcony doorway. "No, dear sister, nothing is bothering me at all," Luna's voice trailed off. She lied. Something was bothering her. Something Celestia would never understand. "Are you sure, Luna? You can tell me about it," Celestia said. "No, nothing is bothering me!" Luna screamed in anger. Celestia would never understand. Celestia had a look of surprise on her face. Luna almost never screamed, so this was unlike her. Celestia decided to change the topic. She didn't want to start a feud with Luna. "Oh, I'm sorry for yelling," Luna apologized. "It is quite ok, Luna," said Celestia. "Do you want help raising the moon?" asked Celestia. "No, sister, I do not. Tonight, I want to be left alone." sighed Luna. Celestia watched as Luna flew into the sky and raised the moon. It really was a beautiful sight. Celestia quickly slipped away when Luna came back. But Luna was not ready to go to sleep. //-------------------------------------------------------// Everfree Evil //-------------------------------------------------------// Everfree Evil The cool night wind skimmed her wings as Princess Luna flew to the Everfree. She knew this is where she could be alone, away from her perfect little sister and everypony else. She landed right in the heart of the Everfree, and sat down. She stared into nothingness as she thought of everything she'd gone through. Why did Celestia always get the attention and not her? She did just as much as her sister did, yet was always shunned into the shadows. Ugh, if only they understood, thought Luna. Celestia would never understand what it was like to be shunned away like this. Luna again felt like crying, but she knew she had to be strong. But why did she feel so weak? A wisp of black smoke curled around Luna's ear. She turned quickly and shouted, "Who is there?" Another black wisp of smoke appeared just feet away from her, then another, and another until the smoke surrounded her on all sides. Piercing yellow eyes appeared on the wisps, causing Luna's heart to beat like a drum. "Get away from me!" shouted Luna, raring a spell to shoot at the smoke. Just as she was about to shoot, the largest wisp of smoke appeared in front of her and a wicked smile crossed it's face. "Do not shoot," whispered the smoke. It's voice was horrifying. It was like a raspy whispering voice, and every time it spoke, a faint cackle protruded from it. "Why should I listen to you?" shouted Luna. "Because," rasped the smoke, "I can give you the life you have always wanted. You can be paid attention to, and praised." Luna's spell went away. She whispered, as if Celestia was right behind her, "You can?" "Yes, we are the Nightmare Forces, I am Dark, their leader, and we can give you everything you have ever wanted, Luna."     Right as Dark said she was a Nightmare Force, Luna shot a blue bolt through Dark. She tried to clear all the rest, but they simply slid aside.  Dark curled herself around Luna's broken, tearstained face. She was weeping again. "Think about it, Luna," said Dark, "You can be loved by your subjects, and given thanks to. They will build statues in your honor," "All I wanted was to be loved and liked, but nopony even looks at me!" wept Luna. "Do you accept our deal?" said Dark. "Yes, please do whatever you can to help me!" Luna begged. Suddenly, in a flash of light, the Nightmare Forces dove straight into Luna's heart, right through her skin. Luna's once black pupils now had a yellow glow to them and were in the shape of a cat's pupil. And Luna was out for revenge.
