Diary of a Wimpy Pegasus

Day 1

Previous Chapter

Dear Diary, I'm new to this kind of thing, so I'll start slow. When I was little, I only had one real friend, and her name was Rainbow Dash. She came to my rescue one day when a few bullies started to make fun of me, because I couldn't fly as well as the rest of the pegasi could. When she jumped in, bucking them right in their faces, and telling them they shouldn't bully somepony who is weaker than them. That day we talked, and laughed, it made me feel like I could finally have a break from the hell I lived everyday. Now, after that day, we've been friends ever since.

Fluttershy closed the book seeing tiny little runes fly across it, protecting the words inside. She actually felt like a tiny but huge weight off of her chest. Her smile grew on her face, and tucked away the small pink book, then looked out her room window. It was as if her whole world seemed to glow brighter, and all she wanted to do was leave the shadow of her past.

She trotted down stairs, and saw Discord messing around with Angle Bunny. The little bunny was lost in panic as its legs grew, then shrunk, it's ears followed the same path. He stopped when he noticed Fluttershy looking at him. He smiled lightly before teleporting away.

Fluttershy could only give a sigh as she rolled her eyes. Not that she didn't mind Discord messing around with her favorite pet, but she couldn't really do anything about it. Yeah, she would tell him to stop, but he would do it again. So he would mess around when  wasn't looking. To her it was fair enough, because he was a God, nothing could truly tell him what to do. Besides who could ever order chaos? Not even Celestia could tell the God of Chaos himself to stop messing around.

Discord's often excuse was "I'm just doing my job to keep my side of the balance in check. It is my lonesome duty to.". All the ponies in the world couldn't argue with his fact.

After feeding her animals over the course of a few hours, afternoon hit, and she was starting to feel hungry. Her stomach made a few noises which only would've made her notice more how hungry she actually was. She did often skip breakfast to feed her animals.

When she went inside she saw Rainbow Dash sitting on her stairs. As soon as Rainbow Dash saw that Fluttershy entered the room, she sighed.

"Twilight came here last night right?" She asked.

       "She did, why?"

"I think you should be careful. She's trying to find out what happened in our past." She replied. "Careful what you do now." Rainbow Dash said, walking out.

Fluttershy didn't know what Rainbow Dash was talking about down to the slightest. Why did she need to worry about her friend. Maybe like the dozens of Filly Services ponies who came to Fluttershy's house when she was little.

She watched as Rainbow Dash flew off back to clearing the skies. Nothing in the world could of made Fluttershy more excited. She looked around for any helpless animal that needed her help, and when she found that they were okay, she left her home to walk around town for a bit.

Walking around town gave time for her to think, as well as meet up some some friends. As she neared Rarity's boutique she thought about talking to her, and maybe taking some time to relax at the spa. Relaxing at the spa gave Fluttershy time to day dream, read a book, talk about stallions, and other things that was on her mind.

She knocked a few times, and to Fluttershy's surprise it was Sweetie Bell who answered.

"Oh hey Fluttershy, what's up?" She asked.

"Nothing much, is Rarity home?"

"Not for a little while, she went to the train station to meet with an important client. I think his name was Fashion Forward or something like that." Sweetie Bell stated. "If you want you can help me with cleaning up the place!"

Fluttershy giggled at the filly's request, and nodded. "Okay, I guess I could help for a bit."

"Oh thank you!" Sweetie Bell shouted as she jumped into the air. "Come on! There's a lot to do!"

On the other side of town it was a different story. Rainbow Dash was clearing the sky for a storm that was supposed to be up by the next day, and the old clouds couldn't hold any rain whatsoever. However she was distracted, thinking about last night.

"This is what you do." She said. "You got magic right? So make a book that only you can Fluttershy can open, and when she isn't around, read it."

Twilight took a step back to Rainbow Dash's idea. "What? I can't read her personal thoughts and feelings!"

"Then I guess you'll have to find out what happened some other way then, but my way is easier." Rainbow Dash said.

"No, no...I'll do it. As much as I really want to know what happened, it hurts me to got behind my best friend's back like that."

"Well, its how I found out."

"HEY RAINBOW DASH!" Spitfire called out. "We need these clouds out of the way pronto!"

"Oh, sorry, on it!" She replied, continuing to clear the clouds.

"You seem to be not yourself today." Storm Chaser said. "Everything alright? Is it a stallion?"

"What? NO!" She said. "My best friend is trying to dig some where she shouldn't in another friend's business, and it's my fault."

"Is it Fluttershy?" She asked. "That pony does have a secretive past. Nopony knows what happens behind her door. And it was until she was placed in the orphanage did she actually come up to ponies and talk to them."

"I know, that's the problem. Twilight wan'ts to know what happened before the orphanage."

"Well, tell her I said good luck!" Storm said flying off the other direction.

Rainbow Dash sighed as she broke apart the last cloud. It was only thirty minutes that time to clear the sky, or five times longer than usual. She looked around, double checking to see if she was actually done, and other than her lonely cloud in the sky, she was done.

"That day..." She said to herself as she remembered the day she was ripped away from her parents.

"NO!" They shouted trying to pull back the nimble filly back into her home. "You will not take her away from us!"

"We're sorry ma'am, but ponies have reported to us that she comes to school bruised from head to tail. Until we see that you aren't the ones harming her, she'll be placed in foster care."

"Please don't take my friend away..." Rainbow Dash said. "She's bruised because we play fight alot!"

The FS ponies looked at Rainbow Dash, and gave a frown. "I'm sorry once again little one, but she's not safe here."

"Can I at least say goodbye?" Rainbow Dash asked. "I am her friend...and she's mine!" She said, stomping her small hoof into the cloud. She tried as hard as she could from showing her sadness.

The two FS ponies glanced over at Rainbow Dash, then to each other before nodding to Fluttershy. She ran over to Rainbow Dash, tear streaming down her face like tiny rivers. They embraced in a hug that made it feel like time had stopped, just for them.

"How long will you be gone?" Dash asked.

"A month, or until I'm adopted by a nicer family." Fluttershy answered her friend. "I'll write if you want."

Rainbow Dash nodded, her head rubbing against Fluttershy's plush yellow coat. "I'll miss you."

       "And me too..."

"Alright, time's up you two. Finish up." The mare said.

       "NO!"

When Rainbow Dash noticed she was close to smashing into a tree, she turned upwards, and gazed towards Fluttershy's cottage. After giving a light sigh, she flew into her home, locking the door. Flying into her bathroom, she turned on the shower, and began to cry.
