When Giant Holes Attack

Once upon a time, in the peaceful land of Equestria, lived six ponies. These six ponies were currently having a peaceful picnic on a hill with a lone tree overlooking Ponyville. It was currently mid-morning, with birds singing, bees humming, and a giant underground hole being dug. The latter was not obvious, as the digger wanted to be sneaky.

The purple (lavender, she'd be quick to remind you) unicorn was sitting in the shade of the tree, reading "How to Have a Picnic," by PicnicMaster001. Her name was Twilight Sparkle. She had huge, inquisitive eyes that were too big for her head, and a purple mane with a stripe of bright pink going down the side and continuing on to her tail. On her flank was a dark purple six-sided star with five smaller, white stars around it. This cutie mark, as the ponies of the world knew it, appeared in a magical burst of light when the pony discovered her special talent. In this case, it showed the world that Twilight, here, was a master of magic. She was the bearer of the Element of Magic, the sixth Element of Harmony. These Elements of Harmony restored order to whatever they were targeted at.

The other, white unicorn with curly purple hair that was combed for hours on end to look "perfect," was Rarity, the prima donna. She was sitting on a carefully folded blanket that was just washed and was probably eating homemade hors-d’œuvre as daintily as possible. She wore fake eyelashes and lots of makeup. Her eyes were just big as all the others' Her cutie mark was three diamonds in an upside-down triangle. She represented the Element of Generosity.

The blue pegasus that was currently challenging the nearby birds to a race was none other than Rainbow Dash, the laziest pegasus ever. Ponies knew her for being the one who pulled off a Sonic Rainboom, which you can look up on the Great and Powerful Internet. I, however, knew her for being a lazy pegasus with a huge ego problem. Her mane was rainbow colored. Her eyes were, you guessed it, too big for her head. Her cutie mark was a cloud with a rainbow lightning bolt. She represented the Element of Loyalty.

The yellow pegasus with curly pink hair that was feeding a greedy bunny a carrot was Fluttershy, the complete opposite of Rainbow Crash. She is the cutest pony you'll ever meet in your life, in my opinion. Her tail was so big and fluffy that things probably got stuck in it all the time, not limited to spoons, cupcakes, and the occasional filly or two or three. Need I remind you of the ridiculously big eyes she, like all ponies, had? Her cutie mark was three butterflies arranged in an upside-down triangle. She represented the Element of Kindness.

The orange-ish pony with braids and a cowboy hat was Applejack, the local apple bucker. She was currently leaning against the tree, snoring loudly. You could say she is the complete opposite of Rarity. She is very stubborn, but she works hard, so that makes up for it. She owns a lasso. She had a yellow-ish sort of mane and had three apples in an upside-down triangle for her cutie mark. She represented the Element of Honesty, and, therefor, made a very good lie detector. She couldn't lie, though.

The pink prancing party pony with pink, curly hair that was stuffing herself with cupcakes was Pinkie Pie, the best pony ever. She can break the fourth wall, grab items out of nowhere, pop out of anything with an inside, break the laws of physics, bounce indefinitely, AND summon parties instantly. Best. Pony! EVER!!! Yeah, anyway, her cutie mark was three balloons in an upside-down triangle. She is impossible to understand. Its not worth it to try to learn about her. Oh, she also has this "pinkie sense" that can sort of predict things. She represents the Element of Laughter.

"Pinchy knee! Pinchy knee!" Pinky suddenly yelled out of nowhere.

Applejack woke up instantly and got her lasso ready and got into a defensive position. Rainbow did the same thing, minus the waking up part. Twilight got her magic fired up, ready to levitate any intruders. Rarity cowered under her "magnificent" dress, being sure to not get herself dirty as well. Fluttershy froze in place, too scared to do anything. Pinkie Pie got a feather ready so she could tickle the enemies into into submission, her knee pinching the whole way.

None of that helped, as a giant hole opened up and swallowed the six ponies. It than closed up again, leaving no trace anything was there.

Where are they going? What will happen to them? Will Lunchtime ever come? Tune in next time, on "The Beginning!"

A lone figure watched six ponies fall into weird, metallic claws. He, or she, was shrouded in darkness to make him look more mysterious.

He pushed a button and sleeping gas was applied to the his captives, knocking them out instantly. He pushed another button that made the claws descend.

"Welcome to my domain," he said, turning on some glasses that made his eyes seem to glow red. "my pawns."

"Master?" a feminine voice called out. Master -------?"

"What is it now, Computer?" The pony called out in annoyance.

"It is estimated that the power bill will be very high if you keep the mysterious shroud[TM] on. I suggest that you turn it off."

"But computer!" The pony whined, "I need to keep the readers mystified!"

"Now now, you do realize that the writer can blank out the description, right?"

"...Oh yeah." The pony, quickly realizing his mistake, flicked off the mysterious shroud[TM] switch.

"I'm so embarrassed," the pony said to nopony in particular, blushing.
