Ditzy the Derpy Mail Mare
Derpy was on one of her usual flights across Ponyville with the sun slowly climbing, soft sweet smell of cake flowing and the sun warming her up. From in the sky she could see all the straw roofed houses and shops in the rural town, and other pegasus flying lower. Derpy was not like normal ponies, pegasi, and unicorns, her eyes always seemed to look in different directions though no pony knew how good she could really see. Just as she began to enjoy her early flight, another pegasus crashed into Derpy causing her to drop out of the sky, and she roughly landed in the dirt below. Her saddlebag was being crushed under her weight, and she scrambled to her hooves causing a puff of dirt.
“Oh I’m very sorry, Derpy, I’m in a hurry. Discord is stirring up trouble at AppleJack’s.” A yellow pegasus whispered.
“It’s okay, Fluttershy. I’ll pick up my mail on my own.”Derpy said drifting down to the earth.
“Bye.” Fluttershy, almost silently said.
All the mail was crumpled with dirt ground into it, and some was creased and from when she crushed them. Snapping the packages and letters up, she dropped them into her bag and clicked the cold steel clamp shut, taking off again and almost bumping into some pony peacefully trotting through the small market. Her first stop was the Golden Oak library. she was already late, so Derpy zoomed off at attacking speed, startling the birds nearby and causing them to land. Everything became a blurry mess as she attempted to land on the wooden balcony, then suddenly there was a purple blur as she sped past.
“Twilight!”
“Derpy!Make a sharp turn and land on-”
But it was too late Derpy came careening into the leaves, and she felt twigs stab her wings.
“Are you okay Derpy..?I hope that hasn’t been happening all day... I have a book you can read if you want! ” The unicorn said.
“No Twilight I’m fine, just a little stuck.” Derpy groaned and cringed with her grey, short fur tangled in the twigs.
“Oh, I almost forgot! Here’s your mail ,Twilight!”, Derpy said cheerfully as she gave the small package to her.
“Thanks Derpy, just watch out next time okay.I think you broke the porch railing.”
“Oops, my bad.well, I hope you enjoy your new book, Twilight! ”
Twilight smiled and eagerly walked back down the wooden steps,holding the leather book with her magic, golden colored pages glimmering in the light. Struggling with getting her wings, the Ditzy mare barely noticed as she heard Fluttershy yelling angrily in the far distance.
After only a minute she was free, and continued on pausing to deliver mail at: Sweet Apple Acres, Carousel boutique, Sugarcube corner, Ponyville Hospital, and others that she forgot the names of. Most were very important like family letters or packages from as far as Manehattan! Nearly every time Derpy saw Fluttershy speeding by, each time looking angrier than the last. Although, when the mare was finished Derpy sensed like there would be more mail than she’d delivered. After pondering and thinking about it for a while, she gave up. Derpy sighed and was just happy that the job was done and started towards Sugar Cube Corner. Though she loved being a mail mare, it wasn’t really interesting. Derpy lazily trotted to the door of the shop and slowly pushed open the door with her hoof. Before the door was fully open sounds of yelling and arguing hit her like a bomb and she quickly straightened up. there sat the master of chaos and disharmony: Discord. He was not a pony though, Discord had many different limbs and teeth. He was part Lion, Goat, Eagle, Lizard, snake , bird, and bat. He sat cross legged with his arms behind his back and eyes closed while eating something. Fluttershy, however, did not look or sound relaxed she seemed about to tackle the creature out of the air. Though many ponies were only watching in fear or confusion, Fluttershy was the only angry one. Derpy on the other hoof did not really seem to care at all, she could do something but was too tired. Letting he wings fall to he side, Derpy glanced up and saw Discord snap and with a bright light her mail appeared. Then Discord, glancing at her for a moment, just snached it out of the air and began to eat it like it was normal everyday food.
“Oh hello , Derpy, how are you doing well today?” Discord asked, enthusiastically waving at her.
The ditzy mare then became one of the confused ones staring with wide eyes and a slack jaw as he ate more of the mail. All she gave in reply was a weak wave of her hoof and a nearly silent whisper, “Hello.” Derpy almost laughed ... almost. She sounded like Fluttershy... instead she just trotted away to the counter where Mr.and Mrs. Cake were cowering. Looking over the counter she questioned: " Do you have any muffins left?" since she had to yell loudly over the unwavering screaming and arguing her face scrunched up.****
*“Discord, that’s Ponyville’s mail, you need to it hand over!” Fluttershy nearly screamed, forcefully staring into his eyes and stomped her hoof.*
*“Why? You can get it back later can't you, and besides, if I get sent to Canterlot, no one will care.” Discord quietly said as if it were not big deal laid his ears flat against his head, and mumbled something unintelligible.*
*"Is that really what this is all about?Discord, there are ponies that would care, I would and so would my friends."*
*"I-"*
*" But that's no reason to force me to fly around everywhere to find you and to cause all this- this *trouble! it's absolutely..." Fluttershy stopped. "Now..what do you have to say for your self?"****
*" If was just that I don't know really why-"*
*"No exuses." Fluttershy abruptly turned on her hoof folded her wings and shut her eyes.*
