Casual monday morning. It made him angry. He, a stallion, with grey coat and brown mane, slowly made his way through the Ponyville. Nothing would be more horrifying than mondays. They start the whole week again, makes him angry, tired and mad, something he wasn't.
"C'mon, Viper. You can keep it up. The SugarCube Corner will be open, no matter what." He muttered to himself, as to courage him to keep walking. Otherwise, he would had fell on the ground and continued sleeping, even though other ponies would stare at him.
He brushed his mane a little, as he took a look on the place again. That strange house looked so much like sweets he used to see on counters, it made him drop saliva from his mouth and stomach gurgle. Grunting, he quickly stepped inside, hoping he would get what he likes to.
From inside, the place looked rather large, enough to hold more than few tables, where to sit. Viper chose the one near the window and took out the menu. Looking for it a while, his eyes finally woke up, as they went wide up. The menu consisted for today waffles. If there was better thing to fill his stomach, it was with them. Not the healthy stuff, but it made him happy. Being happy made him to keep going, so that was what he ordered from the pink mare he kept seeing there.
Curious mare, for his mind. A sweet, candy cotton like mane, pink coat and a slim body, though he excepted more chubby, because of working at this place, but he wouldn't judge that much, as it made her look not only beautiful, but kinda cute.
As he was given the meal, Viper took one bite from the waffle and savoured the taste. It tasted like somepony made it either with heart on a risk or was really his mother, since nopony could made so tasty food. He happily chewed down the rest of the waffles, to quickly silence his stomach and let him keep the mood.
Then there was the dessert. It was usually coffee, but this time looking, he saw the chocolate being less than half of it's original price. Tempting, was the situation. Break his rules and buy chocolate just this once or resist the urge?
"1 coffee and chocolate bar here!" He shouted a little, as he took them both next to the cash. The pink pony bounced in front of it, did the math and he gave the bits. "Silly, no need to shout. We are not outside!" She giggled, as she placed the bits inside the cash.
The stallion made his way back to his seat, before looking back at Pinkie, who was walking towards him. He gulped a little, fearing and being excited. Was the cash register wrong? Did she wanted to hear his compliment from this? The stallion was stunned, as he slowly coughed his coffee up. The mare seated in front of him, keeping that same smile on her face, which caused Viper to chuckle a bit, too.
"You are one of the customers who comes here every day, I just wanted to, tell you hi and......a little thing about this....." She looked down a little, as she was chuckling and keeping a secret on her. What was it? He didn't know.
"Well, why not to then spit it out?" He chuckled, as he relaxed, trying to keep his head cool.
"You gained that chocolate because of being my favourite customer....." She stated with a grin on her face. Viper's expression went from his cool face into a confused stare.
"You know, you always buy coffee, so you can keep yourself awake, I decided to lower price for you, so maybe you would be interested on other stuff..." She blushed while saying it.
Viper cleared his mind and quickly gave a warm smile back to her. "Yeah, that's kinda, generous from you. I guess I would try tasting other stuff you make, but...." He slammed his head on the desk, making Pinkie to jump from her place. "How in name of Celestia you know I like chocolate?" He asked.
The pink mare chuckled even more, booping his nose to make him silent and stay on his place. "Oh, you little boy, why else but from experience...." She hopped from her seat and walked back behind the counter. "Please, come again. I would want to discuss more, if you are able to do so...." She winked for him as last thing, before returning for duty.
Viper's both cheeks were red from all that happened. Was this called something as getting a crush on somepony? He thought it himself, as he gazed his eyes back on Pinkie Pie.
The mare blew up one balloon, tied it together and made it as a dog for one filly. For the old pair, she took out an old looking radio, which played something from the fifties. The mare was mystery for Viper, as he didn't know what to do with her or better yet, how did she do those things?
Anymore, it didn't matter, as clock was getting tight and he needed to get back to work. Without saying a word, he took his stuff with him and walked away from the door. But as being out from the house, he still waved her goodbye, even though she wouldn't see it. He didn't know why he did it either, but decided not to care much, he was late.
As night came on Ponyville, Viper washed himself, brushed his teeth and was awake for while, before hopping on the bed, getting ready for next day.
But he really didn't went sleep. The stallion stood up and looked out from the window, clearly seeing Sugarcube Corner from there. He was still thinking about Pinkie Pie, and he couldn't get that sweet smile from his mind, as thinking it brought him to smile too. The stallion hopped on his bed thinking, what to do with this? Would it develop into something much worse?

First fanfic, which I try to keep it without making Viper as Marty Stu. I know for shipping fanfics it tends to go that way that the guys get the girl, but......not so easily, I think.
