Sweet Confessions

Celestia never did get to sleep that night. Finally it was time for Celestia to raise the sun but she had not headed out to do her royal duty. Luna decided to go check on her. When Luna got to Celestia's room she saw her staring at something. Once she got closer she waved her hoof in front of her face but got no response. Finally she shouted, "SNAP OUT OF IT BIG SISTER!"

Celestia took off skywards and crashed into the ceiling before falling back down onto her bed. Celestia had a look of fear on her face and asked, "Luna, why did you yell at me? You know it scares me."

Luna spread her wings wide, her eyes began to shine solid white and she asked, "Big sister, have you been up all night staring at that picture of Twilight Sparkle?"

Celestia replied, "Yeah, I have. Is that some sort of crime?"

Luna rolled her eyes and said, "Come on, it's time for me to lower the moon and for you to raise the sun."

Celestia continued to glance at the picture of Twilight with a dreamy look on her face and Luna shouted, "BIG SISTER, OUTSIDE, NOW!"

They got out to the courtyard and Celestia was fatigued. She had not got any sleep in over 24 hours. Once Luna lowered the moon Celestia tried to raise the sun. As hard as she tried, she simply couldn't get it to rise above the horizon. Celestia was straining herself and finally she landed and said, "Little sister, I don't think I can do it."

Luna shouted, "BIG SISTER, IT IS YOUR ROYAL DUTY TO RAISE THE SUN! I LOWERED THE MOON, NOW RAISE THAT SUN!"

Celestia tried again but she just couldn't do it. She asked, "Luna, I can't get it raised. Could you raise it for me?"

Luna's jaw dropped open. She never imagined she would have to do Celestia's job for her. She shouted, "FINE! Just this one time big sister. You need to get some sleep."

After Luna raised the sun she headed in to grab a bite to eat before hitting the hay. Celestia had a distraught look on her face that morning. Tears were running down her cheeks. She sobbed, "Luna, I just can't stop worrying about whether my Twily is ok. I just want to go see her. After breakfast I'm going to Ponyville."

Luna stood in the doorway, spread her wings wide and shouted, "OH NO YOU'RE NOT! You couldn't even raise the sun so how are you going to feel like going to see Twilight?" Luna paused for a second and then she shouted, "Wait a minute, did you say MY TWILY?"

Celestia went from crying to being upset. She glared at Luna and replied, "Yes, I said my Twily. Now get out of my way, I'm going to Ponyville."

Celestia knocked Luna out of the way and sped off towards Ponyville. Luna ran out to the balcony but it was too late, Celestia was already disappearing from sight. Luna stormed into the throne room and Gray Wings could see she was upset. He asked, "Your Majesty, what is wrong?"

Luna replied, "I will tell you exactly what is wrong. First Celestia goes from being a rational minded pony into being obsessed with Princess Twilight. She then decides to stay up all night last night staring at a picture of her, this morning I had to raise the sun FOR HER because she was too tired and now she flies off to Ponyville to go see Twilight. That is what is wrong."

Gray Wings asked, "What do you think is wrong with her?"

Luna replied, "I don't know. I need to go get some sleep. I want to be well rested for when I need to raise the moon.....well chances are I will be lowering the sun as well. Don't wake me unless it is important, ok."

Gray Wings agreed to not wake her unless it was important and stood guard at Luna's door to make sure nopony else disturbed her. In Ponyville Twilight has still shut herself in the library. She is tired and just wants to be left alone. She suddenly hears a knock on her door, she shouts, "Go away! I don't want to talk to anypony!"

Celestia shouted, "Twilight, it's me, Celestia. I've come to check on you."

Twilight bolted off her bed, ran down stairs and opened the door. She grabbed a hold of Celestia and started to cry tears of joy. "Princess Celestia, I'm so happy it's you. Come on in, close the door and lock it. You're the only pony I want to talk to right now."

After getting in and locking the door Twilight continued to cling to Celestia. Celestia started to cry tears of joy and said, "I'm happy to see you too Twily!"

Twilight screamed, "Celestia, for a while I was thinking that I was over stressing myself and I had to give a speech at a party that the Cakes had planned for me and it was awful. All those eyes watching me, I couldn't take it."

Celestia put her hoof over Twilight's mouth and asked, "Twilight, I don't think you want other ponies hearing you. They will come to check on you. Don't you want this to be just time for us?"

Twilight replied, "Yes, that is what I want. I just want to be held. Celestia, there is something I must admit to you and I hope you won't think I am awful." Twilight grabbed a hold of Celestia and asked her, "Do you promise not to think I am awful or horrible?"

Celestia gave Twilight a loving look and replied, "Twilight, I would never think you are awful! You can tell me anything."

Twilight had a nervous look in her eyes and said, "Ok, here it goes. Princess Celestia, I love you. Ever since I became a full grown mare I have had special feelings for you."

Celestia put her hoof over Twilight's mouth and asked her, "Twilight, if that was the case then why did you want to stay in Ponyville so much?"

Twilight started to cry, "Because I didn't want you to discover the love I had for you. I know I was able to not show it but every night before I would go to sleep I would dream about a day when I could finally tell you my feelings and that we could be together forever."

Celestia pulled Twilight close to her and said, "Twilight, I wish you would have told me this sooner. I have dreamed of being with you ever since you were a full grown mare. You are so diligent, you are so beautiful, you are so loyal." Celestia then sat down to where she was at eye level with Twilight. She moved in and wrapped her wings around Twilight before giving her a passionate kiss.

Twilight's heart melted. She wrapped her small wings around Celestia as much as she could. Finally Celestia pulled away and her and Twilight started to cry tears of joy again and held each other tight. Twilight said, "Celestia, I just wish I were bigger so that you wouldn't have to sit down to be at eye level with me."

Celestia replied, "Well I think that I can take care of that. I will look through the archives to find a spell I can make you a bit bigger. Would being the size of Luna be what you would want or would you want to be the size of me?"

Twilight replied, "I don't want to be quite as big as you, maybe the size of Cadence. I know she isn't quite as big as Luna but still, you wouldn't have to sit down to be at eye level with me."

Celestia began to stroke her wing through Twilight's mane. She said, "Alright Twilight, I will do that. I am so tired, I thought about you all last night and couldn't sleep. Could I stay here with you for a while?"

Twilight got an ecstatic look on her face. She grabbed Celestia and said, "Of course you can Celly, come up with me!......oops, did I just call you Celly? I hope you're not mad."

Celestia replied, "No Twily, I'm not mad! It just shows me that you truly love me."

Celestia and Twilight went up to her bedroom where they laid on her bed and stared into each other's eyes. Celestia wrapped herself around Twilight tightly. Twilight felt so loved and so safe. Finally they went to sleep hoping that someday they could fall asleep together like that forever.

The Missing Princess

Noon arrived in Ponyville and nopony had seen a trace of Twilight. Twilight's friends gathered at Sweet Apple Acres for some cider and to discuss what they think is going on. They had various thoughts on what they thought happened, everything from the belief that she is simply in Canterlot to her having gone mad and wanting nothing to do with them anymore.

Applejack asked, "You know, Twilight was acting awfully strange last night. I never thought she would keep you out of the library Spike. What do you think is going on?"

Spike replied, "I don't know. I didn't think that a simple public speech would cause her to go crazy like that. I did notice that she seemed a bit clingy to Celestia right before we left Canterlot."

Rarity added, "Oh I'm sure she's just nervous. Technically she is no longer Celestia's student and I know they were both very close."

Rainbow said, "Enough with all the negative talk for now, I'm thirsty. Let's have some cider!"

In the library Celestia and Twilight were waking up a bit. Celestia pulled Twilight closer to her and said, "Twily, I was so afraid that everything had been a dream and I would wake up without you but now I know it is real. I'm so happy!"

Twilight turned around so that she was facing Celestia and replied, "I know Celly, I know. I was still a bit awake while you were dreaming. You were saying 'I want my Twily, I love my Twily.'" Twilight moved in towards Celestia and gave her a long, passionate kiss. They could feel each other melting in one another's wings.

Celestia looked deep into Twilight's eyes and asked, "Twily, what do you think everypony would do if we just shut ourselves in here for a week or so?"

Twilight replied, "Well I know my friends would be worried but I'm worried about the wrath that Luna would have in store for you. She is far more powerful than she used to be. I could seriously see her taking your absence as abdicating the throne and she would name herself Queen."

Celestia kissed Twilight and said, "Oh I think you're just being overly paranoid Twily! I don't think she would want the duties that a queen would have. She would have to have somepony to patrol the night because she would have to handle the daytime issues."

Twilight asked, "I don't want to sound like I am questioning you too much but what kind of mood was Luna in when you left this morning?"

Celestia pulled Twilight close to her and started to cry, "Twily, she was so mad at me. I stayed up all night last night looking at a picture of you and then I didn't have the energy to raise the sun and she had to do it for me."

Twilight pulled Celestia closer to her and said, "I know you are worried about confronting her but as much as it will kill me inside you will have to go back for a while. I don't want her punishing you."

Celestia asked, "Twily, do you think it would be ok if I stayed here with you until tomorrow morning?"

Twilight jumped on Celestia, gave her a big wet kiss and said, "Sure! We will just have to keep quiet enough that no one will know that I am home."

"Agreed," replied Celestia "We will just stay quiet and I think laying together hugging and kissing is a wonderful way for us to spend more of our day."

Twilight asked, "Well we will need to eat too! I want us to have plenty of energy for all that hugging and kissing!"

Celestia nodded in agreement. Finally the afternoon arrives in Canterlot and Luna is waking up. As she left her room she ran into Gray Wings. She asked, "Gray Wings, has Celestia got back from Ponyville yet?"

Gray Wings replied, "No, she has not." He paused for a minute and then asked, "Princess Luna, is there some sort of ancient law regarding a pony abandoning her royal duties and abdicating the throne?"

Luna got a smile on her face and replied, "You know, there might be. After I do not just my royal duty, but Celestia's, I am going to go up to the archives and search through the oldest laws. I think my mom and dad may have put some sort of rules on the books regarding abdication."

Gray Wings asked, "So in other words, if she continues this behavior you could become Queen Luna?"

Luna started flying around the throne room shouting, "Queen Luna! That would be so amazing! I'll have to go check those old law books!"

Two hours later Luna was out in the courtyard and Celestia had yet to get back. Flash Sentry saw Luna was getting ready to lower the sun and he shouted, "Luna, it is not your job to lower the sun! Only Celestia can raise and lower the sun. She will have to banish you to the moon again if you do this."

Luna growled, "You know what Flash, your beloved Celestia was unable to perform her royal duty this morning because she stayed up all night last night staring at a picture of Twilight Sparkle. She begged me to raise the sun for her this morning because she didn't have the strength to raise it. She is still not home. If I allow the sun to stay up longer than normal Equestria will overheat. That would not be good for our country."

Flash Sentry looked stunned. He asked, "That's true.....wait, did you say Celestia still isn't home?"

Luna replied, "No, she is not. If you want to go look for her, be my guest. Now if you will excuse me I have both a sun to lower and a moon to raise."

Flash asked, "Before you go to do that, where did Celestia go anyway?"

Luna shouted, "SHE WENT TO PONYVILLE TO GO SEE TWILIGHT. GO FIND HER AND BRING HER BACK, NOW!"

While Flash Sentry headed towards Ponyville Luna lowered the sun and raised the moon. After she was finished Gray Wings asked, "Wow Princess, I never imagined that you would be taking care of both celestial bodies! How did it feel lowering the sun AND raising the moon?"

Luna replied, "Well it felt odd, I will admit that much. I could get used to handling both the moon and sun. How about you join me up in the archives while I look through the old law books?"

Gray Wings said, "Alright Queen Luna, I'm coming up with you!"

Luna laughed, "Well I'm not Queen Luna yet. I don't know if there are even any laws on the books regarding that."

Thirty minutes later Flash Sentry arrived in Ponyville and ran into Applejack. He asked, "Ma'am, do you know Princess Twilight Sparkle?"

Applejack replied, "Yep, I know her. I'm a close friend of her's." Applejack looked closer and asked, "Wait a minute, you're Flash Sentry aren't you?"

Flash replied, "Yes, I am. Princess Celestia is missing and Luna believes that she may have come here to see Twilight."

Applejack said, "Well I'm not sure. Nopony has seen any trace of her today and the library looks dead. I would think that if she were home and Celestia was there we would see activity over there."

Flash replied, "Well I am going to go over and see if I can see anything."

Flash flew over to the library where he knocked on the door. Inside Celestia and Twilight heard the knocking and were afraid as to who it might be. Celestia headed over to the top window and peeked out from behind the shade for just a second and saw it was Flash. Celestia let out a sigh of relief.

Twilight asked, "Who is it Celly?"

Celestia replied, "It is just Flash Sentry. It is nopony important. We just need to stay quiet and not show any signs that we are here."

Twilight nodded and signaled for Celestia to come back over to her. Flash continued to knock on the door and Celestia and Twilight continued to find safety and comfort in holding one another close. Flash finally gave up and headed back towards Canterlot. After a few minutes of no knocking Twilight and Celestia felt a bit more at ease. Celestia asked, "Twilight, do any of your friends know how to unlock doors?"

Twilight replied, "Yeah, Rarity does......oh no, we better lock it to where she can't unlock it."

Celestia kissed Twilight and replied, "I will put a powerful lock spell on it and she won't be able to get in."

Celestia flew down and put a powerful lock spell on the door. This made Twilight feel a lot better. She said, "Thank you Celly, now we will know for sure we won't be bothered."

Celestia replied, "I know how you feel Twily. This is OUR time and I don't want anypony taking it away from us."

Twilight and Celestia sat down to have some supper before cuddling and talking about their dreams and desires in their future together. Finally they fell asleep in a loving embrace. Both hoped that they would be able to do that forever someday but didn't realize that it wouldn't just be easy as pie.

An Ancient Discovery

In Canterlot Luna and Gray Wings were sitting down to supper when Flash Sentry came running into the dining hall. Luna glared at him and asked, "Where is my sister? Where is Celestia?"

Flash Sentry replied, "Well I went and knocked on the door to the library for over twenty minutes but there was no answer. I ran into one of Twilight's friends but she said that nopony had seen a trace of Twilight or Celestia."

Luna asked, "Did you go and look for her elsewhere? Did you go see if she was with one of Twilight's other friends or maybe at that sweets shop she likes so much?"

Flash Sentry replied, "Look, I said that her friend told me that she hadn't seen a trace of either one of them."

Luna asked, "Just because she hadn't seen her didn't mean that one of her other friends hadn't seen her. Did that not cross your mind?"

Flash replied, "Well no, it didn't. I'm sorry, looking for her just skipped my mind."

Luna slammed her hoof on the ground and shouted, "YOU KNOW WHAT, I THINK THAT BOTH OF THEM ARE UP TO SOMETHING."

Gray Wings asked, "Do you think they might be trying to come up with a plan to depose you?"

Luna replied, "They could be. They are very close and I could see Twilight manipulating her to want to do that. I can sense it in her actions that she wants a spot up here on the throne in Canterlot."

Flash interrupted, "Your Majesty, I don't think Twilight is like that. I don't think she would be ready for those kinds of responsibilities anyway."

Luna rolled her eyes and asked, "Flash, don't you see how she acts? Didn't you see how clingy she was to Celestia once she was crowned princess? Didn't you see how her hugging my sister almost made her and her friends miss the train?"

Gray Wings asked, "You don't think Twilight has special feelings for your sister do you? You know as in feelings of love?"

Luna sat there stunned for a minute. The very thought of Twilight and Celestia becoming each other's special someponies just didn't seem like a rational reason to Luna but she decided not to rule it out.

Luna replied, "Well I wouldn't think so. If anything like that was to be the case it would probably be Twilight just manipulating her into thinking she did for the sole reason to usurp the throne. For all we know Twilight could be wanting to learn a spell of some sort to remove BOTH my sister and I from the throne. She is to be watched like a hawk at all times from this point forward."

Luna looked over at Gray Wings and added, "Come on, let's go and do that task I was talking about earlier."

Flash asked, "Your Majesty, what do you want me to do if Celestia was to come home?"

Luna replied, "Keep her distracted and go do me a favor right now. Take that picture of Twilight Sparkle out of her room. Once she does get home I want her sleeping at night, not staring at it thinking who knows what. Come on Gray Wings, let's go."

Gray Wings nodded and the two headed up to the archives. Gray Wings asked, "What part of the archives has the most ancient scrolls and books in it?"

Luna replied, "They are right through this door. I think I know the spell to unlock it but I'm not completely sure."

Luna put her hoof on the door and was able to just push it in. Gray Wings saw this and said, "Wow your Majesty! It looks like Celestia forgot to lock this the last time she was in here!"

Luna replied, "Yep, this just made my life easier. Let's go on in. I think we should start with the most ancient books and scrolls first."

They started to look through the ancient materials and after an hour Gray Wings found something. He said, "Your Majesty, I think I have found something important. It mentions royal duties and it says something about unexcused absences and abdication of the throne."

Luna replied, "Good. Let me take a look at it."

Luna levitated the book to herself and began to read. She got a huge smile on her face when she got halfway down a page in the middle of the book. She said, "Ok, this could lead to me becoming Queen. Royal rule 1.11.106a: I, Queen Galaxia, mother of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, do command, it shall be the royal duty of Celestia to raise and lower the sun and for Luna to raise and lower the moon. Ok, on to rule 1.11.106b, while there are times that a princess can not do her royal duties, such as in times of illness, times of banishment or times of being gone on official business, the other princess shall handle both duties. On to 1.11.106c, however, if a princess is gone on unofficial business and fails to do her royal duties for fourteen (14) consecutive days, on the morning of the fifteenth (15th) day when the other princess does the absent one's duty, she shall declare the absent one has abdicated the throne and she shall declare herself Queen. On to 1.11.106d, the new Queen is to transform two (2) unicorns into Alicorns and make them princesses. On to 1.11.106e. She is to take control of both royal guards and if the absent one returns, the royal guards are to greet her with spears and forbid her to return. On to 1.11.106f, the new queen is to banish the one who abdicated to a place of her choosing."

Gray Wings smiled and asked, "So if Celestia doesn't return until after the two weeks are up you would become Queen of Equestria?"

Luna replied, "Yes, I would become Queen of Equestria and since you are the captain of the Lunar Royal Guard, you would become the captain of both guards, since the Lunar Guard would then become the primary guard. We better get downstairs. We have a patrol of the Everfree Forest to start before too long."

Once they returned to the throne room a worried Flash Sentry saw that Luna was in an extremely good mood. He asked, "Your Majesty, how can you have such a huge smile on your face when your sister is missing?"

Luna replied, "Oh I just found some important information up in the archives. I'm sure Celestia is fine. If she doesn't get back after sunrise tomorrow, regardless of how tired I am, I will go look for her. I have a feeling I know where she is."

Flash Sentry asked, "Where do you think that is?"

Luna replied, "I can not disclose that information. That is to be known by me and me alone at this point. You hold down the fort, Gray Wings and I have a patrol of the Everfree Forest to do."

Flash Sentry just sighed as he watched Luna and Gray Wings head off towards the Everfree Forest. He has an odd feeling that Luna has found information that she can use against Celestia but doesn't know what to do about it.

Luna's Wrath

A long night passed and a fatigued Luna and Gray Wings returned to Canterlot. Flash Sentry greeted Luna at the balcony. He could see she was very tired and asked, "Wow your Majesty, you look really tired. I take it you had a long night in the Everfree Forest?"

Luna replied, "Yes, we did. I ran into a few manticores, all of which needed to be put in their place and I ran into some of Twilight Sparkle's modified parasprites. Those things tried to eat my crown and tried to eat Gray Wings' armor. I wound up frying them with my energy."

Gray Wings added, "The manticores were bad enough but those parasprites seemed to be worse."

Flash interrupted, "Oh come on, those parasprites couldn't have been that bad."

Luna replied, "Oh so you think they couldn't have been that bad? Tell you what, how about you go out with me on my patrol tonight and I will take you to where they are. When the ones that I didn't kill swarm and begin to attack, I will teleport out of there and you can see what a royal pain they are."

Flash boasted, "Alright, you've got yourself a deal! I can handle parasprites without any problems!"

Luna said, "Look guys, I need to go lower the moon and raise the sun. Hopefully Celestia will get her flank home today."

While Luna was lowering the moon and raising the sun, Celestia and Twilight were just getting up. The sun shone in through the window and Twilight asked Celestia, "Celly, how is the sun coming up without you there to raise it?"

Celestia gave Twilight a gentle kiss and said, "Luna raised it yesterday and she is raising it again today. I have a feeling that she is enjoying this so now I don't think I will have to worry about her wrath so much."

Twilight replied, "Well I still think you better go back today. Besides, that will give you a chance to find a spell to make me more the size of Cadence."

Twilight and Celestia sat down to one more breakfast before she had to return to Canterlot. After eating Twilight was clinging to Celestia as she headed towards the door. Twilight asked, "Celly, please promise me that you will be back soon. I can't live without you. Please, will you promise me you will be back soon?"

Celestia got down at eye level with Twilight, she gave her a long passionate kiss. She then replied, "I promise you Twily, I will be back soon. Besides, I have plans for us when I come back again."

Twilight started jumping up and down and asked, "Celly, will we be able to shut ourselves in here for a week and it will be just you and me?"

Celesita replied, "Oh it will be something much bigger than that Twily. I want you to be surprised but let's just say that you will love it!"

Celestia gave Twilight one more long kiss before heading out the door and heading back to Canterlot. In Canterlot Luna, Gray Wings and Flash Sentry were in the dining hall eating breakfast. Gray Wings asked, "So Princess Luna, what are your plans after breakfast?"

Luna replied, "Well I plan on getting some sleep. After all the things we encountered in the forest last night I think both of us should get some rest."

Flash asked, "But your Majesty, I thought you were going to go look for Princess........."

Before Flash could finish his sentence Celestia came running into the dining hall. Before she could say anything Luna confronted her. Luna's eyes began to shine a bright white as she shouted, "PRINCESS CELESTIA, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN AND WHY DID YOU NEGLECT YOUR ROYAL DUTIES?"

Celestia just brushed her off and headed off to her room but Luna got in her way. She was going to get an answer. With her eyes still shining white she shouted, "ANSWER ME BIG SISTER!"

Celestia broke down crying and said, "Listen little sister, this is something that you could never understand."

Luna got up in her face and growled, "Look Celestia, all that matters is that you were unable to do your royal duty yesterday morning and you were missing last night and this morning. You and Twilight could have had a little sleep over and kissed all night long and that wouldn't be the big issue. The big issue is that I had to do YOUR royal duties."

Celestia got a stunned look on her face and cried, "MY TWILY, I MISS MY TWILY!"

Luna picked up Celestia with her magic and shouted, "Oh, so you were with 'your Twily' weren't you? What were you two doing, making plans to remove me from the throne?"

Celestia finally broke free from Luna's grasp and ran to her room crying, "My Twily, I miss my Twily, I need my Twily!"

Flash Sentry headed to go comfort Celestia but Luna got in his way. She growled, "Not another step Flash. Gray Wings will deal with her. I am going to get some rest. Since Twilight's LITTLE SLAVE is home now I can get some rest. Do not disturb me unless we are under siege."

Gray Wings headed into Celestia's room and stood there shaking his head when he saw Celestia completely covered up with her blankets sobbing. Celestia could sense somepony was there. She asked, "Who's there and what do you want? I just want to be alone right now."

Gray Wings replied, "Your Majesty, you really need to pull yourself together. Luna can't run the show alone."

Celestia peeked her head out from under her covers and said, "I don't want to talk to you. You are on HER side. You probably think I am pathetic like she does. JUST GO!"

As Gray Wings was leaving her room Celestia got up to look for her picture of Twilight but noticed it was gone. She cried louder, "MY PICTURE OF MY TWILY! WHERE IS MY PIC OF TWILY?"

Flash Sentry rushed past Gray Wings and headed in there. Celestia sobbed, "Flash Sentry, what happened to my picture of Twily?"

Flash Sentry replied, "Well you see, Luna kind of made me get it out of here so when you got home you would sleep instead of stare at it."

Celestia picked Flash up and went into a rage. She shouted, "YOU TOOK ORDERS FROM HER? Where is my picture of Twily? You give me my picture of Twily or you're going to the moon!"

Celestia set Flash down and he ran up to the archives and got the picture of Twilight and took it back to Celestia. When Celestia saw him coming she ripped the picture out of his wings and hugged it. She started crying, "My Twily, My sweet Twily! I need my Twily, I want my Twily! I have to have my Twily!"

Luna heard her cries and stormed into Celestia's room. Luna saw Celestia crying clinging to the picture of Twilight. Luna shouted, "BIG SISTER, WHAT THE HAY IS WRONG WITH YOU? YOU ARE ACTING LIKE A LOVESICK TEENAGER!"

Celestia looked up at her sister and whined, "But I don't think you understand little sister, I want my Twily, I love my Twily, I need my Twily."

Luna's eyes began to shine a bright white again. She began to mock Celestia's cries, "oohh I want my Twily, I love my Twily, I need my Twily because if I don't have my Twily I might just die! WAAAAH!" Luna glared at her and continued, "Look, Gray Wings and I ran into a few manticores last night in the forest and I can't sleep with you whining and crying like this. Look, if you must cry and whine, do it quietly while the rational thinking princess gets her sleep."

Flash Sentry went over to comfort Celestia. She grabbed a hold of him and asked, "Flash, why is Luna so mean? How could she not understand my agonizing sadness?"

Flash replied, "It is just part of who Luna is. You are right about one thing, I don't think she will ever understand how you are feeling. The only ponies she ever grows close to are her royal guard members and she loves them like they are her children. I sometimes wonder if she even knows what romantic love is."

Celestia got up and looked Flash in the eyes. She asked, "You know that I love Twilight?"

Flash replied, "Yes your Majesty and I know she loves you too. I only removed the picture of Twilight from in here because I was scared that she might banish me to the sun if I didn't."

Celestia hugged Flash and said, "I am glad you understand Flash. Right now I feel like you and Twily are the only ponies I can trust."

Flash replied, "Thanks for the trust your Majesty. Don't worry, not a word of this will get to Luna. I better get going, I don't want Gray Wings to interrogate me and then have Luna yell at me later."

Celestia said, "Yeah and I probably better get out to the throne room. I don't feel like getting yelled at again."

Celestia headed out to the throne room hoping to restore some normalcy to her life but she just couldn't get Twilight out of her mind. She had tears rolling down her face and she continued to sob quietly about her Twily.

The Unfriending of Twilight Sparkle

Back in Ponyville Twilight was just laying on her bed with a numb, empty feeling flowing throughout her. She was still trying to figure out if her time with Celestia was real or if it was a dream. She finally decided to go outside for the first time since before Celestia visited her. She was confronted not too long after she got out the door.

Spike saw her in a daze walking around town. He ran up to her and hugged her. He asked, "Twilight, are you ok? We were all so worried about you!"

Twilight was in no mood for her assistant's hug. She shouted, "I AM FINE! DON'T TOUCH ME, ONLY CELESTIA CAN TOUCH ME!"

Rarity heard Twilight screaming at Spike She ran over and asked, "Twilight, why are you yelling at my Spikey-Wikey?"

Twilight growled, "Well you can keep your Spikey-Wikey. I just want to be alone."

Rarity would not just take that as an answer. She got in Twilight's face and asked, "Twilight, we were worried about you. Where have you been and why are you in such a bad mood?"

Twilight was about to explode. Finally she got her wits about her and she replied, "I'm sorry for yelling Rarity. I just don't feel like myself. I just feel a great sense of emptiness inside but I don't know why."

Spike asked, "Well we could always go to Sugarcube Corner. Maybe something sweet will make you feel better?"

Rarity added, "Yeah, everypony else is already there waiting for us."

Twilight rolled her eyes but decided to go with them. She figured it would make the time pass faster until Celestia returned. Finally they got there and as they walked in Fluttershy asked, "Twilight, we were so worried about you! Where have you been?"

Twilight grunted, "Does it matter? I'm here now aren't I so there is no reason for you to worry anymore."

Rainbow said, "Twilight, no need to be so defensive about it. We were worried about you and want to know where you were."

Twilight shouted, "WOULD YOU ALL JUST DROP IT! I'M FINE AND I'M HERE SO JUST DROP IT!"

Pinkie had a stunned look on her face. She decided to try to lighten the mood. She asked, "Twilight, what are you hungry for? I've even made donuts with extra sprinkles just like you like them!"

Twilight shouted, "I SAID TO JUST......" Twilight realized that Pinkie was simply asking her a question about what she wanted to eat. She continued, "Yeah, that sounds really good. With the way I am feeling I think extra sprinkles will make me feel better."

Applejack asked, "So Twilight, did Flash Sentry ever find you? He said something about Princess Celestia going missing and that Luna thought she may have come to visit you."

Twilight got a dreamy look in her eyes and said, "Princess Celestia, the pony of my........" She then realized Applejack mentioned Luna and Flash. She shouted, "LUNA SENT FLASH TO TRY TO FIND CELESTIA?" Without thinking she continued, "HOW DARE SHE TRY TO GET FLASH TO TAKE MY CELLY AWAY FROM ME!"

Everypony looked stunned. Rarity asked, "My Celly? What do you mean by 'My Celly?'"

Twilight gave them all a dirty look and stormed out of Sugarcube Corner. They all looked at each other and Rainbow asked, "What was all that about? My Celly? Something weird is going on with her."

Applejack replied, "I don't know. She acts like she is in love with Celestia or that Celestia is a possession of her's. I'm wondering if maybe she wasn't ready to be a princess?"

Rarity said, "I don't know but I do know that I am really worried about her. Right now isn't exactly the best time to try to interact with her but I do think we need to keep an eye on her from a distance."

Spike added, "When Rarity and I first saw her I ran up to her and hugged her. I told her how worried we were about her but she yelled at me."

Rarity continued, "Yeah and when I asked her why she was yelling at Spike she told me to just keep my precious Spikey-Wikey and that she just wanted to be left alone."

They just sat there in silence trying to take all the information in. Finally Fluttershy spoke up. She said, "You know, even though she hasn't had any royal duties yet or had any royal business fall on her yet maybe this is going to her head."

Applejack asked, "Maybe so but I still don't get why she is so obsessed with Celestia and calling her 'my Celly?' She acts like she is in love with her. Y'all don't think her and Celestia were in the library together all that time when Flash was looking for her do you?"

Fluttershy replied, "You know they could have been. I don't know what they would do together in the library for so long though. I don't think they could just talk for that long."

Rarity said, "Fluttershy dahling, they could do plenty of things. They could study together, they could play games, they could plot on how they would remove Luna from the throne, they could hug and kiss......oops, did I just say hug and kiss?"

Rainbow replied, "Yeah you did and you also mentioned removing Luna from the throne. The way Twilight is acting I could actually see that happening."

Applejack asked, "Which one? Her and Celestia plotting to remove Luna from the throne or the hugging and kissing?"

Rainbow replied, "Both. I think we should try to sneak over to the library and see if we can hear Twilight saying anything or see her doing something odd through the blinds."

Spike and Twilight's friends headed over to the library and could hear Twilight crying from outside. They heard her crying, "Please hurry back Celly, please come and take me away from all these prying eyes."

Applejack asked, "Prying eyes? What the hay is she talking about?"

Fluttershy replied, "Look, one of her curtains upstairs is open. Come on Rainbow, let's go see if we can see anything without being seen."

Rainbow and Fluttershy flew up to the upstairs window and looked in. They saw Twilight looking at a picture of Celestia crying, "Please Celly, please come save me. I hate them Celly, I hate them. Please just come take me away and ask me to marry you."

Fluttershy and Rainbow flew back down with shocked looks on their faces. Fluttershy said, "Well, Twilight was staring at a picture of Princess Celestia and was crying."

Rainbow added, "And she was saying 'Celly, please come save me. I hate them Celly, I hate them. Please just come take me away and ask me to marry you.'"

They stood there in stunned silence. Rarity then asked, "She did what? Who does she hate?"

Pinkie replied, "You don't think she's talking about us do you?"

Rarity said, "I don't know, but I want to find out. I'm unlocking that door and we're going to confront her over this."

Rarity walked over to the door and unlocked it. She sent Spike in first. Spike went in and began to walk upstairs. Twilight saw him and fired a powerful bolt of energy at him, knocking him backwards. She screamed, "HOW DID YOU GET IN HERE?"

Rarity ran in when she saw this. She stood in front of Spike and yelled, "How dare you hurt my Spikey-Wikey Twilight. We want to know what is going on with you, NOW!"

The rest of her friends ran in and this sent Twilight into a rage. She shouted, "You guys broke in, you're spying on me! What are you?, SPIES FOR LUNA?"

Twilight began firing powerful bolts of energy at her friends, striking them and burning them. Applejack managed to get out of the way and finally Rarity was able to fire back, stunning Twilight. She fell to the floor and found herself surrounded by her friends. She shouted, "You guys can't even trust me? What, do you think that Celestia and I are in love and I want her to marry me?"

Twilight finally went quiet when she realized what she had just said. At first she was thinking of apologizing and asking for forgiveness but then the thoughts of them maybe being spies for Luna took over. She shouted, "How dare you just break in here and spy on me! It is none of your business what I am doing. Get out, all of you. I want nothing to do with any of you!"

Spike asked, "Does that mean me too Twilight?"

Twilight screamed, "YES, IT MEANS YOU TOO! I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF YOU!"

Applejack said, "Well alright then, I don't know about the rest of you but Twilight ain't my friend anymore."

Spike along with everypony said the same thing to Twilight, that they don't think she is a friend anymore. She fired bolts of energy at them chasing them out of the library, leaving a burn mark on Twilight's back. She slammed the door and could be heard in there screaming and yelling about how she thinks her former friends are nothing but backstabbers and was cursing Luna and Flash Sentry.

Spike looked up at Applejack and asked, "Do you think she will ever return to normal?"

Applejack replied, "I don't know sugar cube but I think we need to get up to Canterlot and let Princess Celestia know about this at once."

Fluttershy asked, "Are you sure Celestia is the one to talk to about this? What if she is in the same mindset as Twilight? I think Luna would be the one we should talk to."

Rarity replied, "Well for right now I think we should just wait and see what happens before we go talking to either of the princesses."

Everypony agreed with Rarity and they headed to Sweet Apple Acres to discuss things further. For the first time in his life Spike was truly afraid of Twilight. This caused him to break down in cry but he had a strong support system which would help him through this hard time.

Division Among the Royal Pony Sisters

Late afternoon arrived in Ponyville and an irritated Luna was waking up. She headed into the throne room to find a worried Flash Sentry and a paranoid Celestia. Luna could sense that they weren't quite themselves. She asked, "Flash Sentry, what is wrong with you? You look like something is bothering you."

Flash replied, "It is Celestia. She has hardly talked today, she has had tears running her face and she just won't talk back when I try to talk to her."

Luna rolled her eyes and walked over to Celestia. She waved her hoof in front of her face and got no response. Luna shouted, "SNAP OUT OF IT BIG SISTER!"

Like earlier, Celestia took off skywards and crashed into the ceiling before falling onto the throne room floor. She looked up at her sister and shouted, "Why must you yell at me? You know it scares me!"

Luna replied, "Well, Flash has told me about your behavior today. He told me that he has tried talking to you but you won't say anything back and that you have had tears running down your face." Luna leaned in towards Celestia and asked, " What the hay is wrong with you?"

Celestia wouldn't look up at her sister as she had no desire to be interrogated like a criminal. Luna finally got right up in Celestia's face and shouted at her again. Finally Celestia replied, "Look little sister, you and I think differently, we have different mindsets and the things I am going through you have no perception of."

Luna growled, "Look, I am worried about you big sister. I don't have to understand exactly what is wrong or what is running through your mind. I do need you to be alert. I can't run on just a few hours of sleep a day. You know I have to stay up all night and here the past couple of days I have had to do both your duties and mine. What would we do right now if we were to be attacked? You wouldn't even be alert enough to know we were being attacked much less know what to do."

Celestia started to cry, "But Luna, I can't be with the one I love. She is the only thing in my life that gives me hope."

Luna growled, "Look, I can understand that. Just make sure you get enough rest so you can do your royal duties. I may as well be Queen if you can't do them."

This sent Celestia into a rage. She shouted, "SO YOU ARE TRYING TO USE ALL OF THIS TO TAKE ALL POWER IN EQUESTRIA FOR YOURSELF? WELL I HAVE NEWS FOR YOU, THAT ISN'T HAPPENING!"

Luna smiled, patted her sister on the back and replied, "Now that is the Princess Celestia that Equestria loves and needs so much!"

Celestia growled, "You do not touch me! My Twily is the only one who is allowed to touch me!"

Luna rolled her eyes and replied, "Look, as long as you are alert, able to do your royal duties and defend us against an attack I will put up with all this 'my Twily' crap. What the hay is up with that anyway? Since she is a princess do you view her as your possession now or what?"

Celestia had a nervous look on her face and replied, "Little sister, we are equals. It isn't your job to order me around. I will do my duties. Just please stop questioning me over every little thing I do."

Luna headed into the dining hall to get ready for supper. Gray Wings and Flash Sentry very quickly joined her. Luna asked, "So Flash, are you ready to go on that patrol with me tonight?"

Flash replied, "Wait a minute, I do have to sleep tonight. Besides, Gray Wings always goes with you."

Luna sneered, "Well if I remember correctly were were boasting about how you could so easily handle those modified parasprites Twilight created. I asked you if you would want to come with me and you so arrogantly said that you would come with me and have no problems with those parasprites."

Gray Wings laughed, "You did indeed say that Flash. You should really keep true to your word."

Flash replied, "Oh ok, but you know what your Majesty, I can't wait to see the look on your face when those parasprites don't give me any problems! Mark my words, you will eat crow!"

Celestia came running into the dining hall when she heard this and asked, "Flash Sentry, what do you mean Luna will eat crow?"

Before Flash could say anything Luna interrupted, "Well, this morning before you got back Gray Wings and I returned from the Everfree Forest fatigued. We ran into a few manticores and some of those modified parasprites that Twilight created,"

Celestia interrupted, "Twilight. Oh my Twily, the pony of my dreams!"

Luna rolled her eyes and cleared her throat, "Well now where was I? oh yes, we were talking about how those parasprites tried to eat my crown and tried to eat Gray Wings' armor. Flash Sentry here claimed that he could handle those parasprites so he is going on patrol with me and I am taking him to where they are and let him deal with them on his own since he seems to think they are nothing to worry about!"

Flash asked, "Wait a minute, Princess Celestia, did you say Twilight is the pony of your dreams."

The very mention of Twilight's name made Celestia all dreamy eyed and distracted. Luna shouted, "LOOK BIG SISTER, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS UP WITH YOU, BUT YOU NEED TO SNAP OUT OF IT!"

Celestia shook her head and regained her composure. She asked, "Wha-What? What were we talking about. I became distracted."

Luna growled, "Nevermind. Here comes supper. Fill up Celestia. I know you haven't ate enough and you need a full stomach to lower the sun properly. We don't want you dropping it below the horizon too quickly."

Celestia's mood became much better suddenly. She laughed, "Oh little sister the last time that happened was when we were little fillies and mom and dad were teaching us how to do our royal duties."

Luna snickered, "Well I would certainly hope that wouldn't happen again. That would be rather embarrassing!"

The rest of their supper went by without any problems and soon it was time for Celestia to lower the sun and for Luna to raise the moon. Everything went perfect like it normally does. Luna patted Celestia on the back and said, "It is so good to see my big sister back to normal. Now you better get some rest tonight!"

Celestia asked, "So will Gray Wings be going with you on your patrol tonight?"

Luna replied, "No he won't be. He will be resting tonight while Yellow Eyes holds down the fort. Mr. Hotshot Flash Sentry will be going on my patrol with me and show me how good he is with parasprites that try to eat armor and crowns."

While Celestia and Gray Wings headed back into the castle Luna and Flash Sentry headed into the Everfree Forest. Flash Sentry had a nervous look on his face and asked, "Your Majesty, do we have to go in there? How do you and Gray Wings do it?"

Luna put her hoof up to her face and replied, "Yes Flash we have to go in there. You claimed you could handle those parasprites so you are going to prove to me you can. Besides, you are a member of the royal guard, why would you be scared of the Everfree Forest?"

Flash said, "Well I haven't been in here before so I really don't know what to expect and besides, I'm worried about Celestia. Don't tell her I said anything but she seems to have an obsession with Twilight that is kinda scary. I'm trying to get as much out of her as I can but I have come to the conclusion that she isn't stable enough to be a leader anymore."

Luna smiled and replied, "Finally! Somepony other than Gray Wings and myself who thinks that she is having problems."

While Luna and Flash were on their patrol in the Everfree Forest Celestia was in her room trying to get to sleep but she just couldn't. While she knew Gray Wings was tired and was sleeping she also knew that Yellow Eyes, Luna's second in command in the Lunar Royal Guard, was holding down the fort. She started to cry but then realized a quick escape route, through her window.

Celestia opened her window and took off towards Ponyville. She just couldn't take not being with Twilight anymore. Celestia was shouting to herself, "I can't wait to see Twily! We're going to go to Las Pegasus and be gone for over a month! I'm going to make my Twily my wife!"

While Celestia thought she was home free she did not know that Yellow Eyes was circling around the castle and heard every word she was saying. He immediately decided that Luna must know everything she said and planned on telling her once she got home.

A Jubilant Night

The night continues to progress and Luna and Flash Sentry continue their patrol until they get to the darkest part of the forest. Flash gets this scared look on his face and asked, "Your Majesty, it is so dark! Why would you lead us into this part of the forest?"

Luna replied, "This part of the forest always needs patrolled. We've been lucky so far, no manticores."

Flash Sentry sees a cloud off in the distance. With the dim light he can't make out what it is but with her superior eyesight, Luna can. Luna rockets skywards up into the canopy of the forest. Just a few seconds later she can hear Flash Sentry screaming, "No, my armor! Luna you led me here on purpose! Kill them, I'm begging you!"

Luna came down from the canopy and laughed, "Flash, I thought you said you could handle these parasprites with no problems!"

Flash continued to scream, "Ok, I am sorry. These parasprites are worse! You're right! Please kill them!"

Luna began to fire energy at the parasprites, frying them. While a few of them got away a majority of them were incinerated. Luna looked at Flash, who was visibly shaken, and snickered, "Flash, what the hay happened to your armor?"

Flash's armor had been completely eaten. He replied sarcastically, "Oh very funny your Majesty!"

Later that night Luna and Flash returned to the castle and were greeted by Yellow Eyes. Yellow Eyes began to laugh and asked, "Flash, what happened to your armor?"

Flash replied, "Well we run into some of Twilight's parasprites and they ate my armor! I didn't know those things could eat metal so easily."

Luna continued to laugh, "Oh and what was this about you going to make me eat crow Flash Sentry? You're the one who's eating crow!"

Yellow Eyes interrupted, "Oh, speaking of Twilight. I was flying around the castle keeping an eye on things and Celestia escaped out her window and took off towards Ponyville."

Luna shouted, "AND YOU DIDN'T TRY TO STOP HER?"

Yellow Eyes replied, "Let me finish. She was shouting to herself about how she was going to go get her Twily and take her to Las Pegasus and make her her wife and was shouting about how she was going to be gone for over a month."

The scowl on Luna's face transformed into a huge smile. She started jumping up and down shouting, "This is perfect! Equestria is mine, all mine!"

Gray Wings heard Luna's shouting and flew out to see what was going on. He asked, "Your Majesty, what is going on? Why are you so excited?"

Luna levitated Gray Wings over to her and hugged him. She asked excitedly, "Do you remember that ancient rule of my mom's regarding princesses and their royal duties?"

Gray Wings replied, "Yeah, I do."

Luna said, "Well guess what, my sister is going to be with Twily and they are going to be gone for over a month!" Luna continued to jump up and down shouting, "YES, YES, YES, YES!"

Flash asked, "Uh, Luna, does this have something to do with Celestia abdicating the throne and you becoming the queen of Equestria?"

Luna replied, "Yes Flash, it does!"

Flash breathed a sigh of relief. He replied, "Finally, we won't have an overly emotional princess on the throne who makes poor judgements. Instead, we will have an intelligent, strong, rational thinking QUEEN on the throne!"

Luna said, "Yep. All we have to do is wait for her to miss fourteen days of royal duties and after I lower the moon and raise the sun on the morning of the fifteenth day, I will officially be Queen Luna."

Gray Wings hugged Luna and said, "Well we will have to organize a coronation ceremony of the ages!

Luna replied, "Well we will have to wait until the fifteenth morning before we organize that. I don't want to jinx things!"

While Luna and the royal guardsponies are up in Canterlot talking about the rise of Luna to Queen Celestia lands in Ponyville. It is still a while before Luna will raise the sun so she sneaks over to the library and knocks on the door. Twilight hears the knocks and is not thrilled about being bothered at night. She yelled, "Who the hay is waking me up at this hour."

Celestia shouts, "Twily, it's me!"

Twilight jumps up off her bead and rushes down stairs. She opens her door to find her beloved Celestia standing there. Twilight clung to Celestia and said, "Come on in Celly, before anypony else sees you."

Celestia and Twilight went in and put a powerful lock spell on the door. Celestia got down to eye level with Twilight and gave her a long, passionate kiss. They embraced and began to cry tears of joy. Celestia said, "You see Twily! I promised you that I would be back!"

Twilight replied, "I'm so sorry to have even had a tiny bit of doubt Celly." She clung even tighter to Celestia and asked, "Celly, what are those plans you discussed when you left last time?"

Celestia replied, "We will talk about that in the morning but I do hope maybe we can shut ourselves in here for a few days and just relax"

Twilight enthusiastically agreed to it but she then asked about being transformed to being the size of Cadence. Celestia said to her, "Of course I can do that! I was so stressed last time that I forgot I already knew that spell!"

Twilight hugged her tighter when Celestia asked, "Twily, I do have a question. Why do you only want to be the size of Cadence?"

Twilight replied, "Well first we will be able to hug and kiss with no problems that way but I do still want to be smaller than you."

Celestia asked, "Twily, why are you so insistent on being smaller than me still?"

Twilight replied, "Ok, you can make me more the size of Luna but I just want to be smaller than you. It is just what feels right to me."

Celestia asked, "Well it is whatever you want. Do you want to do this now?"

Twilight replied, "Yes, I would love to do this now!"

Celestia had Twilight stand in front of her. She began to glow softly, she pointed her horn at Twilight and recited, ""The small one wishes they were tall so that they won't have to crawl, with height their future is bright and everything will be alright, for the small one is small no more, with height their happiness shall be galore."

Celestia fired her energy at Twilight. Twilight began to grow until she reached the size of Luna. Twilight ran to Celestia and embraced her tightly. She began to cry tears of joy and said, "Thank you Celly, thank you!"

Celestia replied, "Anything for you Twily. I just want to make sure you are happy. When you are happy I am happy."

Celestia looked deep into Twilight's eyes and moved closer to her. She began to kiss her passionately. Twilight's heart melted as she had never felt that kind of warmth before. Twilight asked, "Celly, I'm kind of tired. Do you think we could go to bed for a while before we eat breakfast?"

Celestia kissed Twilight gently and replied, "Of course we can!"

Celestia and Twilight headed up to her bed, which was now kind of small for Twilight, much less her and Celestia together. Celestia pulled Twilight close to her and realized that her dream of her and Twilight falling asleep together forever had become reality.

Departure from Ponyville

In Canterlot morning arrived and like she has been recently, Luna lowered her moon and raised Celestia's sun. Gray Wings was standing beside her with a smile on his face. He asked, "You know your Majesty, very soon that won't be Celestia's sun anymore, it will be YOUR sun!"

Luna put her hoof over his mouth and said, "Gray Wings, I know you are excited but let's wait to say anything like that until she has been gone long enough that she will have legally abdicated the throne. You know I don't like to celebrate things too soon."

Gray Wings asked, "Well now that you have raised the sun, think we should have some breakfast?"

Luna replied, "Of course. I'm sure everypony is hungry, I know I am!"

While Luna and the royal guard headed to the dining hall for breakfast Twilight and Celestia were woken up by the sun. Celestia began to stir and pulled Twilight closer to her. Twilight gave Celestia a loving smile and asked, "Celly, do you promise that we will wake up together like this forever?"

Celestia gave Twilight a deep kiss and replied, "Of course I do Twily! You know I love you and you are the only thing I want in life!" Celestia pulled Twilight closer to her and asked, "Twily, how long do you want us to stay shut in until we leave?"

Twilight asked, "I do have a question. Where are we going anyway?"

Celestia replied, "I am taking us to Las Pegasus. There our dreams will come true."

Twilight jumped on Celestia and asked, "Did you say Las Pegasus? You mean as in THE Las Pegasus?"

When Twilight heard this she had a feeling that Celestia wanted to marry her but was not completely sure since she hadn't proposed. Celestia pulled Twilight close to her and began to stroke her wing through her mane. She looked deep into Twilight's eyes and asked, "Twily, you mean a lot to me. Ever since you have become a full grown mare I have loved you more than anything. Twilight Sparkle, will you marry me?"

Twilight pounced on Celestia giving her a long, passionate kiss. She replied, "YES, YES, YES, YES! Of course I will marry you Celestia! Oh I'm so happy!"

Celestia and Twilight began to kiss passionately and suddenly Twilight decided that they should leave sooner. Twilight asked, "Celly, do you think we could leave in the middle of the night tonight? I want to be yours forever so much I want us to make it legal as soon as we can."

Celestia held Twilight close and replied, "Of course we can Twily! I was hoping that you would want to leave sooner. I'm sorry I don't have a horn ring for you yet but I promise you, when we get to Las Pegasus I will get you the ring of your dreams."

Twilight looked into Celestia's eyes and said, "Celly, you don't have to do that! Besides, having you forever is what my true dream is. No ring could ever even compare to having you with me, to hold me, to kiss me...."

Celestia pulled Twilight close to her and replied, "I know Twily. I think we should eat a couple big meals and get some rest so that we can leave tonight. I think we should leave around midnight so the chances of us being spotted will be minimal."

Twilight got a scared look in her eyes and asked, "What about Luna? What if she sees us?"

Celestia replied, "Oh I don't think Luna will see us! Besides, it's not like we are going to be flying near Canterlot. Yes Luna has the best eyesight of anypony I have ever known but still, I don't think she will spot us."

This made Twilight feel better but she still clung to Celestia for the rest of the day. Finally night arrived in Ponyville and Twilight and Celestia decided to have one more meal before departing. Celestia said, "You know Twily, it won't be long until we have our own chefs and the time you are spending cooking can be spent kissing and cuddling!"

Twilight kissed Celestia and replied, "Yes Celly, it will be. More time for us to bond as one."

Celestia and Twilight ate their supper and before they knew it midnight had arrived. Twilight and Celestia saw that nopony in town was awake so they didn't have to speed off quite as fast. They gave one another a gentle kiss in front of the library before taking off. They felt pure joy and freedom flowing throughout them as they took off towards the southwest. Celestia shouted, "We did it Twily, we got out of here with nopony seeing us!"

Twilight replied, "I know Celly, I'm so happy!"

Twilight and Celestia thought they were getting away unnoticed but Luna was doing a patrol off to the south of Canterlot and saw them speeding off towards the southwest. Inside her mind she thought, "YES! Equestria will soon be mine, all mine!"

While Celestia and Twilight headed off towards Las Pegasus, Luna headed back to Canterlot. When she got to the throne room she had a beaming smile on her face. Gray Wings asked, "Your Majesty, you look like a pony who just struck it rich in Las Pegasus."

Luna replied, "Well very soon I will have! Twilight and Celestia left Ponyville tonight. I saw them flying off to the southwest."

Gray Wings asked, "How long does a couple who elopes like this usually stay in Las Pegasus?"

Luna replied, "Usually at least a couple of weeks but if they stay there longer, which I am sure they will, it won't be long until I declare that she has abdicated the throne and crown myself queen."

Luna was flying around the throne room ecstatic as a school filly. In her mind she began to make plans for what would happen once she becomes the queen of Equestria. Celestia and Twilight had much more carefree and short term thoughts. While Luna was planning change for a whole nation Celestia and Twilight weren't looking any further than a month out.

Love in Las Pegasus

Twelve hours later two very fatigued princesses finally saw Las Pegasus on the horizon. Twilight saw this and got a huge grin on her face. She shouted, "We're almost there Celly, we're almost to Las Pegasus!"

Celestia replied, "I know Twily! I'm so happy!"

A couple minutes later they landed in town across from the fanciest hotel in the city. Twilight asked, "Celly, when are we going to get married?"

Celestia replied, "I think we should go over to the court house tomorrow. I am dead tired, let's go get a room at the hotel."

Celestia and Twilight headed to the hotel. Celestia saw the clerk was sitting there reading the newspaper. Celestia cleared her throat and asked "Ahem, I am wondering if we could get a room for three weeks?"

The clerk replied, "Three weeks? I'm sorry ma'am but the most we can rent a room out for is one week."

Celestia asked, "What? Do you know who I am? I want to speak to your supervisor."

He went and got Flower Mane, the hotel's owner. She knew Celestia so she asked, "Your Majesty, what kind of problems are going on with the clerk?"

Celestia replied, "Flower Mane, it is so good to see you! Your clerk is saying that you only rent rooms out for a week. My Twily and I need much longer than a week. I am hoping we could rent a room for three weeks."

Flower Mane rushed out and hugged both Celestia and Twilight. She asked, "Your Majesty, you can rent out a room for as long as you want! Who is this with you your Majesty?"

Celestia wrapped her wing around Twilight and replied, "This is my fiancee, Princess Twilight Sparkle."

Flower Mane shook Twilight's hoof and said, "You are one lucky mare your Majesty! Celestia is the greatest pony I have ever known. She is definitely a keeper!"

Twilight replied, "Thanks, I know she is a keeper. I love her so much."

Flower Mane said, "I will take you two up to your room myself. You two will be staying in room 1038. It is the room with the best view in all of Las Pegasus and remember, room service is just a call away!"

Celestia asked, "So how much will this cost?"

Flower Mane replied, "For you your Majesties, everything is on the house. I would never charge you anything your Highness! You two enjoy your stay!"

Flower Mane closed the door while Twilight was looking out the window. Celestia walked up beside her and began to stroke her wing through Twilight's mane. She asked, "This is a beautiful view, isn't it Twily?"

Twilight replied, "It is Celly but not anywhere close to as beautiful as you are!"

Celestia took Twilight to the bed and began to kiss her. They laid side by side and wrapped their wings around one another. Twilight said, "Oh Celly, I am so happy we are here. This has been my dream ever since I matured into a full grown mare and now it has come true!"

Celestia asked, "Twily sweetie, do you think we could pull the curtains and get some sleep? I am so tired after that long flight."

Twilight replied, "Of course we can! I was about to ask the same thing."

Celestia closed the curtains and they got under the covers and got into a loving embrace. It did not take long for them to fall asleep. They both felt safe wrapped together so tightly.

Celestia and Twilight slept tight that night and slept for longer than they thought the would. When they got up they called for room service. Celestia asked, "Is it ok that I called for room service Twily? I just want us to be alone together as much as possible."

Twilight replied, "Well I was hoping you would just call for room service. I kind of hope that with the exception of when we go out to get married I would love it if we could just stay in here where nopony would bother us."

Celestia held Twilight close and gave her a deep kiss. She replied, "I was hoping that was what you would want. Considering that so many ponies know what I look like I would rather us just shut ourselves in like this. After all, why would I want to have to put up with other ponies when I can be with you."

After they ate breakfast they headed over to the courthouse across the street. They walked up to the justice of the peace and Celestia asked, "Excuse me, but my Twily and I would like to get a marriage license so we can get married."

The justice of the peace, Gold Ring handed them some paperwork and replied, "Ok, I need you two to fill these forms out and then both of you will have to take a blood test."

Twilight asked, "Sir, why do we have to take a blood test?"

Gold Ring replied, "It was a law that Queen Galaxia and King Cosmos made in the ancient days of Equestria. Equestria law 2.18.189 states 'All living creatures which desire to get married must submit to a blood test, whether or not they are able to procreate.'"

Celestia said, "But I am Princess Celestia and this is Princess Twilight Sparkle. I don't get why a couple that can not procreate should have to submit to a blood test."

Gold Ring replied, "Hey, I don't make the laws, I just abide by them. Even though you are a princess..." Gold Ring looked shocked and asked, "wait a minute, did you say Princess Celestia? As in the daughter of Queen Galaxia and King Cosmos?"

Celestia replied, "Yes, I am their daughter."

Gold Ring was looking through some old books to see if there were any exceptions but did not find any. He said, "I am sorry your Majesty but despite you being their daughter, you still have to abide by the same laws that everypony else has to."

Twilight began to cry and asked, "Does this mean that we won't be able to get married?"

Gold Ring replied, "You'll be able to get married. Just fill out those forms and submit to the blood test. Once the results come back and show that you two are not blood related you may get married."

Celestia asked, "How long will it take to get the results of this test?"

Gold Ring replied, "Well it normally takes five days but since you are Princess Celestia, I will try to make sure it is done in three days."

After Celestia and Twilight filled out the proper paperwork and submitted their blood for testing Gold Ring said, "Ok, come back in three days. I can't guarantee you that it will be done but I will try."

Celestia replied, "Thanks. We will be back in three days."

Celestia could tell that Twilight was sad. She put her wing around her and asked, "What is wrong Twily? You seem so sad."

Twilight asked, "Celly, what if they won't let us get married? What if they lie on the blood test and claim that we are blood relations even though we aren't?"

Celestia replied, "Oh Twily, I know you get paranoid but that isn't going to happen. What do you say we go back to the room and hold each other close?"

Twilight smiled and replied, "I would love that Celly! Let's go."

Twilight and Celestia headed back up to their room for more alone time, which they have had a lot of recently. Celestia pulled Twilight close and said, "Don't worry Twily, if they claim we are blood relations I will accuse them of lying about it and threaten to banish them to the moon."

Twilight smiled, pulled Celestia close to her and gave her a deep, wet kiss. She replied, "I know you will Celly but I have thought about it and I know we aren't blood relations so we won't have to worry!"

Arrival in Canterlot

A couple days passed and in Canterlot Luna was deep in thought. Gray Wings walked into the throne room and asked, "Your Majesty, you look like you are in deep thought. What is running through your mind?"

Luna replied, "Oh I'm just counting down the days until it will be legally declared that Celestia has abdicated the throne. I am thinking about summoning Twilight's former friends along with the two ponies I have picked to be the new princesses to come up here as soon as possible."

Gray Wings asked, "Why would you need two princesses? You and Celestia ran things perfectly fine with it just being the two of you."

Luna replied, "Well one of them will not give up her job as a dentist. That one I will have remain in Ponyville. The other one will gladly move up here and handle all the daytime issues. As Queen, I will continue to monitor the night and I will handle daytime issues of great importance."

Flash Sentry, who was also present in the throne room said, "That sounds like a splendid idea your Majesty. I sometimes think that Equestria would be a far better place than it currently is if you were queen. Yes I know order is the norm but I still think that things could be better."

Luna asked, "Flash, do you know how my sister sent messages to Twilight? I know that dragon coughed them up but how did she send them?"

Flash replied, "Well she would write the message on these scrolls over there, she would then blow on it and it would be sent. Very shortly the dragon would cough it up. He would write his reply on the same type of paper and blow on it. It would then appear out of thin air in front of her. Why do you ask?"

Luna said, "Well I need to get a message to Twilight's former friends along with Colgate and Lyra. If I can get a message to them that tells them to go get Colgate and Lyra and for all of them to get up here I can get ready to set in motion the winds of change. Besides, I need them to go get a couple very important ponies and I will need Gray Wings to go on a long distance trip to take care of some very important matters."

Flash asked, "What are those matters and who would Twilight's former friends need to go get?"

Luna gave Flash an icy glare and replied, "For right now that information must remain classified. This will all become declassified once everypony I need gets here."

Luna grabbed some of the scroll paper and a quill and wrote, "Spike, I need you and all of Twilight's former friends to come up to Canterlot at once. I also need all of you to bring Colgate and Lyra with you. Tell them that their presence is MANDATORY. Show them the note if you have to. Once you get everypony rounded up reply to me. Sincerely, Princess Luna"

Luna went out onto the balcony and sent the letter. Spike is with Applejack on the farm enjoying some cider when suddenly "BELCH" Spike coughs up a letter from Princess Luna.

Spike sees it and says, "Finally, a letter from Princess Celestia! Maybe she will know what is up with Twilight."

Spike opens the letter and he looked shocked.

Applejack asked, "Spike what is the strange look for? Twilight isn't dead or she didn't commit some sort of crime that got her banished did she?"

Spike replied, "I don't know. This letter is from Princess Luna and she is saying that we need to go up to Canterlot at once. She is also saying that we need to bring Colgate and Lyra with us and that their presence is mandatory."

Applejack said, "Well what are we waiting for? Let's go round up our friends, Colgate and Lyra."

Spike knew that the rest of their friends were at Sugarcube Corner but Colgate's office was on the way there. Luck was on their side because Colgate was cleaning Lyra's teeth. Applejack and Spike headed into the dentist's office and was greeted by Colgate.

Colgate asked, "Oh hi Applejack, hi Spike. What brings you in today? Do one of you need to schedule an appointment?"

Spike said, "No that is not why we are here."

Spike took the letter over to Colgate so she could read it. She had Lyra read it as well. Colgate replied, "I'm almost done with Lyra's teeth. Why don't we all just ride up there together? I know how Princess Luna is. She will get overly paranoid if not all of us show up at once."

Ten minutes later Colgate was finished with Lyra. Colgate closed up shop early and they headed to Sugarcube Corner. They looked shocked when they saw Colgate walking in. Pinkie asked, "Hi Applejack.......what? Colgate, I never thought I would see you in here. What brings all of you guys over here anyway?"

Applejack replied, "Well we have an important message from Princess Luna. Spike, have them all read the message."

Spike handed the letter to Pinkie and she passed it around. They knew that with Princess Luna sending a message that it was extremely important. Fluttershy asked, "Oh no, I wonder if something happened to Twilight?"

Rainbow replied, "I don't know but I know it isn't something minor. Luna only sends messages if it is extremely important. Spike, send a message back to Luna and let her know that we will be there ASAP."

Spike replied, "Well we will have to break into the library and get some paper. Twilight is the only one here in town that has the right type of paper."

Rarity said, "Oh don't worry about that. I know how to unlock doors. Let's go!"

They all headed over to the library and Rarity unlocked the door. The library seemed to have a creepy emptiness within it as Spike headed upstairs to get the paper. Lyra asked, "Is it just me or does it seem kind of creepy in here?"

Colgate replied, "It does, it seems very creepy. I know it isn't just because Twilight is gone either. She left me alone to study the dentistry books when I was writing that root canal spell for Celestia and it felt perfectly fine in here."

Spike grabbed the paper, they got out of the library and Rarity relocked the door. Spike took the quill he grabbed and began to write on the paper. He wrote, "Princess Luna, I have gathered everypony you wanted to come up there. We will be catching the next train to Canterlot which will be leaving in ten minutes. We shall see you soon. Sincerely, Spike."

Spike sent the message. Luna was eating a snack in the dining hall when she received his message. It appeared in front of her and she read it. Gray Wings was present and he asked, "Your Majesty, what does it say?"

Luna smiled and replied, "They will be here. They are catching the next train which will be leaving Ponyville in ten minutes."

In Ponyville the train pulls into the station and they all got on board. Colgate asked, "I can see why Luna would want you six up there but I wonder why she is so adamant about Lyra and I being up there."

Lyra replied, "Maybe she wants you to be her dentist and she wants me to play my lyre for her?"

Colgate rolled her eyes and said, "I don't know why she would call me up there to schedule a dental appointment and besides, you know she likes the rockin' music that Vinyl and I play anyway."

While Lyra and Colgate started arguing about what kind of music that Luna likes more Spike was getting worried. He asked, "You guys don't think that Luna and Celestia caught Twilight breaking some sort of royal law and are going to banish her somewhere do you? Do you think maybe they are going to let us see her one last time?"

Applejack replied, "You know Spike, I think living with Twilight made you overly paranoid. I'm thinking that maybe Luna just wants to see us and see if we have heard anything about Twilight or Celestia."

Finally the train arrived in Canterlot and they all ran up to the castle and Spike took them to the throne room. There they met an unusually happy Luna. Luna said, "You guys made it! I am so happy you were able to get here early."

Colgate asked, "Your Majesty, what is all this about and why did Lyra and I have to come too?"

Luna replied, "I will let all of you know the reasons for you coming here shortly. First though, let's go to the dining hall and have something to eat."

Colgate noticed that Rarity was nervously playing with her mane while they were eating. Colgate asked, "Rarity, why are you so nervous? You are acting more nervous than I did before my final exam at the academy."

Rarity replied, "Well I am just nervous about our meeting and what is going on with Twilight."

Luna said, "I know you are nervous about this but there is no need to worry Rarity. Tomorrow morning I need you and the rest of your friends to catch the train to the Crystal Empire. You are to notify Princess Cadence and Prince Shining Armor that I need to see them immediately."

Fluttershy asked, "But what if they ask why?"

Luna replied, "Just tell them that it is imperative that I see them. Tell them that it involves Celestia and Twilight. They both love Twilight and they both care very much for Celestia as well. That will get them here in nothing flat."

Lyra asked, "What about us? When will you let us know about why we had to come?"

Luna replied, "Tomorrow after Spike and his friends catch the train. For right now I can not disclose any further information."

That night they all had trouble sleeping. Colgate and Lyra were nervous about what Luna had in store with them while despite how mean and rude Twilight was to them, Spike and his friends were worried about Twilight and Celestia.

Royal Plans

Morning arrived and Spike and his friends along with Lyra and Colgate headed down to the dining hall. After performing her royal duties Luna joined them. Spike asked, "Princess, how does it feel to be taking care of both the moon and sun?"

Luna replied, "Well it definitely feels different. I'm getting used to it. If I had to do it on a long term basis, I think I could handle it perfectly fine."

Rarity asked, "No disrespect your Majesty, but the way you are talking you are acting like you will be doing it for a long time. Did Celestia get banished to the sun?"

Luna put her hoof up on her forehead and replied, "No, she has not been banished to the sun. If she had you would see her silhouette in the solar disk at dawn and dusk every day."

Applejack asked, "So when does the train leave for the Crystal Empire?"

Luna replied, "In one hour. Here comes breakfast everypony. Chow down because it isn't a short train ride up to the empire."

Very soon they had finished eating and Luna took them down to the train station. She said, "Spike, remember what I said. If they ask why it is so important that I see them just let them know it involves Celestia and Twilight."

Fluttershy replied, "Well that is all we know what it involves since you haven't told us anything about them."

Luna said, "Well that is how I am planning things out. Nopony will know exactly what is going on until everypony I want here is here."

The train arrived and Twilight's former friends got on board. As it took off towards the north Luna headed back into the dining hall to talk to Gray Wings. Gray Wings asked, "Your Majesty, what is it that you wanted me to do?"

Luna replied, "Fly to my parents' castle in the city of Faustica on Alicorn Island."

Gray Wings asked, "What if they wonder who I am and ask why?"

Luna replied, "Tell them your name, mention them that you are one of my royal guards and simply say, 'Luna needs to see you regarding an ancient law.' They will know what you are talking about."

Luna followed Gray Wings out onto the balcony to see him off. He asked, "Your Majesty, how long will this trip take?"

Luna replied, "Given the stamina and speed that you have, you should be able to get there in a day and a half. That includes stopping to eat and sleep for a few hours at the west coast."

Gray Wings said, "Ok your Majesty, I won't let you down." Gray Wings took off towards the west. Luna returned to the dining hall to find an anxious Colgate and Lyra. Luna smiled and said, "Ok, now I am going to let you two know why it was so imperative that you came up here."

Colgate asked, "Why was it so imperative?"

Luna replied, "Ok, four days ago my sister, Princess Celestia, left in the middle of the night to go to Ponyville and see Twilight. One of my royal guards heard her screaming something about her going to run off to Las Pegasus with Twilight and marry her."

Lyra asked, "What does that have to do with us?"

Luna continued, "Well there is an ancient law that states that if either my sister or I are gone for fourteen consecutive days on unofficial business and neglect our royal duties that on the morning of the fifteenth day when the absent one still is not present and the other pony does her duties, that it is declared that she has abdicated the throne and that the sister who has been doing both duties shall be crowned queen."

Colgate asked, "Alright but I still don't get how that affects Lyra and I. How does it affect us?"

Luna continued, "Ok, there is also a clause in my mom's ancient law that the pony that is elevated to queen is to transform two unicorns into Alicorns and make them princesses. You two are the ones I have chosen. I do not believe Celestia will return before she is legally declared as having abdicated the throne."

Colgate said, "Oh no, I'm not moving up here and giving up being a dentist. I already told Celestia that when she offered me a spot as a princess when I wrote that root canal spell."

Luna interrupted, "Colgate, you would not have to move up here and you would be able to continue to be a dentist. After all, that is your passion in life and you are a very much loved dentist. Just how Twilight lived in Ponyville, you would live in Ponyville and you would pretty much run your own schedule."

Lyra asked, "What about me?"

Luna asked, "Lyra, what would you think about moving up here to Canterlot?"

Lyra got an excited look on her face and said, "I would love it! I have always wanted to live here but I have never been able to make that happen."

Luna continued, "Well you would be moving up here. Given that I am the Princess of the Night, well by that time I will be the Queen of the Night and Queen of Equestria, you would handle a majority of the daytime issues. Yes the biggest issues I would handle or we would handle together but things such as deciding petty squabbles among the commoners you would handle."

Lyra asked, "Would I become responsible for raising and lowering the sun?"

Luna replied, "No. Regarding handling celestial bodies the only ones who can handle them are Alicorns that were born as Alicorns."

Colgate asked, "Wait a minute, are we going to become Alicorns?"

Luna replied, "Yes you will and I will cast a spell on you guys to make you the size of Celestia."

Lyra asked, "So we would be bigger than you?"

Luna replied, "No. I would or if my parents are present for the coronation ceremony, will cast a spell on me to make me the same size as them, which is twice the size of Celestia."

Colgate said excitedly, "Well a queen should be the same size as other queens! I can't wait to see that happen your Majesty!"

Luna replied, "Well I don't think we should count our chickens before they hatch. Once day fifteen arrives and I lower the moon AND raise the sun, THEN we can celebrate."

Colgate asked, "So what do you want us to do for now?"

Luna replied, "I need both of you to stay up here for now. Gray Wings will be returning with my parents and Twilight's former friends will be returning with Princess Cadence and Prince Shining Armor. They will primarily be here because this is a royal family event. Cadence is my niece so she should be here and besides, they need to know who will be boss in Equestria."

Colgate shouted, "HAY YEAH THEY DO! THEY NEED TO KNOW YOU ARE THE BOSS!"

Luna smiled and replied, "You bet they do. Now I need you two to do me a major favor. Do not let the others know I have informed you about anything that is going on. Try your hardest to act surprised when I announce my plans for you two and Colgate, go off on how you do not wish to leave Ponyville and stop being a dentist. If you don't go off about it, they will know you have been informed."

Colgate replied, "Don't worry, I will act just like I did earlier."

Colgate took those who she plans on making her second in command on a tour of the castle. She figured that both of them will need to know it like the back of their hooves, especially Lyra. Luna decided though that it wouldn't hurt for Colgate to know it inside and out as well.

The Marriage of Princess Twilight Sparkle

Three days had passed since Twilight and Celestia filled out the paperwork for the marriage license. Celestia woke up to not sunlight, but Twilight's gentle kisses. Celestia began to giggle and said, "Oh Twily, you're so adorable!"

Twilight continued to kiss her and hold her tight hoping that Celestia remembered that it was the day they needed to go check on their blood tests. Celestia continued, "I know today is the day they should have the results of our tests. Let's at least let them have time to get their office open! Besides, we need some breakfast first!"

Twilight replied, "You're right Celly. I am hungry anyway."

After eating breakfast Twilight and Celestia headed across the street to the courthouse. On the way there they were stopped by a group of school fillies. One of the fillies asked, "Are you Princess Celestia?"

Celestia replied, "Yeah I am."

The whole group of fillies surrounded Celestia and were bombarding her with questions and compliments. Twilight was looking really sad and Celestia was getting upset. She shouted, "Get out of my way you brats! I have places to be and I do not feel like being delayed. Get out of the way or I'll banish you to the moon!"

The fillies went from adoring Celestia to running in terror from her. Celestia rolled her eyes and said, "What spoiled little brats. They can't even let us get to the courthouse without mobbing us."

Twilight replied, "I know but now they are gone. Let's be happy and hopeful about our blood tests."

Celestia kissed Twilight and they walked into the courthouse. They went to Gold Ring's office and he immediately recognized them. He asked, "Hi your Majesty. I take it you are here to check on the status of that blood test?"

Celestia replied, "We are."

Gold Ring started going through papers in his office until he found what he was looking for. He got a sad look on his face and said, "I'm sorry you two, but you two are related and fairly closely related as well. Because of that, I can not allow you to get married."

Twilight started to cry uncontrollably while Celestia became irate. She grabbed the folder out of Gold Ring's hooves and was reading through it. She became even more furious when she saw that he had grabbed the wrong folder. She was levitating him and began to shout at him, "YOU IDIOT, THIS IS THE WRONG FOLDER! LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID TO MY TWILY! YOU FIND THE RIGHT FOLDER OR I WILL FIND IT MYSELF AND BANISH YOU TO THE MOON!"

Celestia put Gold Ring down and he continued to go through different folders in his office. Finally after five minutes of searching he found it. He smiled and said, "Princess Celestia, Princess Twilight Sparkle, I have some very good news. You two are not blood relations so I can sell you a marriage license and if you would like, I could even marry you myself."

Twilight's crying went to ecstatic jubilation. She was jumping up and down like a school filly shouting, "Yes, yes, yes, yes!"

Celestia grabbed her, gave her a gentle kiss and said, "Twily, we're in a public building. You can't go shouting like that."

Twilight replied, "I'm just so happy Celly! Are we going to let him marry us now?"

Celestia replied, "Yes Twily, we are."

After Celestia paid Gold Ring for the marriage license he was getting ready to start the ceremony but then realized something, they needed an outside witness to conduct the ceremony. He saw Clean Hooves, the courthouse's janitor was nearby. He asked, "Clean Hooves, do you think you could do us a favor?"

Clean Hooves asked, "Yeah, I can do that. What do you want me to do?"

Gold Ring replied, "We need you to be a witness for this ceremony. Marriage statutes regarding JP marriages require that a witness be present."

Clean Hooves agreed to be the witness so they could get the ceremony started. Gold Ring started, "We are gathered here today to unite these two ponies, Princess Celestia and Princess Twilight Sparkle, in marriage and eternal happiness. If there is anypony here who does not think these two should get married, please speak now or forever hold your peace."

Gold Ring looked over at Clean Hooves wondering if he was going to object. Clean Hooves did not say a word so Gold Ring continued with the ceremony. He asked, "Princess Celestia, do you promise to cherish and hold this mare, Princess Twilight Sparkle in all times, for better or worse and in sickness in health to be your wife for eternity?"

Princess Celestia replied, "I do."

Gold Ring asked, "Princess Twilight Sparkle, do you promise to cherish and hold this mare, Princess Celestia, in all times, for better or worse and in sickness in health to be your wife for eternity?"

Twilight replied, "I most definitely do."

Gold Ring continued, "Well then by the power invested in me by the City of Las Pegasus and the Marejavi Province, I know pronounce you mare and wife. You may kiss the bride."

Princess Celestia gave Twilight a deep, passionate kiss knowing now that their dreams were officially true. Princess Celestia said, "Thank you so much Gold Ring for marrying us."

Gold Ring replied, "You're welcome your Majesty. You two have a wonderful life together."

Twilight said, "We certainly will!"

Twilight and Celestia headed back to their hotel and when they got into their room Twilight pounced on Celestia and started kissing her. She said, "Celly I'm so happy! Now we are truly united as one!"

Celestia rolled to where she was on top of Twilight. She slipped her tongue into Twilight's mouth and began to kiss her passionately. She could feel Twilight melting underneath her. She replied, "I'm so happy too Twily! Now that we are married there is nothing my sister can do to keep us apart."

Twilight asked, "Celly, how long do you want to stay here? Do you think Luna will get mad if you are not there to do your royal duties for too long?"

Celestia continued to lay on top of Twilight and she replied, "Twily, I don't care what Luna thinks. It's not like there is a law that states that I have to be there to do my royal duties! She is doing them just fine and as far as how long we are going to stay here, I want us to stay here for at least a month. After all, why should a newlywed couple have to put up with any kind of royal duties like that?"

Twilight replied, "Very true Celly, very true."

Celestia said, "Besides, the only royal duties either one of us have now is lots of hugging and kissing!"

Twilight replied, "Oh I love these duties Celly!" Twilight rolled her and Celestia on to their sides and began to kiss Celestia passionately. They wrapped their wings tightly around one another and began to massage each other. While in their wedded bliss, Celestia did forget one little thing. She forgot there are royal duties that are mandatory and that could be costly for not just her, but Twilight as well.

Rounding Up the Royals

It was afternoon in the Crystal Empire when the train pulled into the station. Spike and his friends exited the train and headed off in the direction of the crystal tower. Applejack asked, "Uh Spike, now how are we going to do this? Are we just going to tell them that Celestia and Twilight are missing or what?"

Spike replied, "Well yeah that is what Luna told us to do. After all, we don't want to mess this up because Luna is not as forgiving as Celestia was when it comes to matters like this."

As they continued to head towards the crystal tower Princess Cadence and Prince Shining Armor were out and about mingling with the crystal ponies. The crystal ponies loved Cadence and Shining Armor because instead of sitting up in their tower they come down and interact with them.

Cadence and Shining Armor were talking to a group of school ponies when they heard shouting off in the distance. Spike and his friends saw the royal couple and were running in their direction. Cadence said, "I'm sorry kids, but I have company coming. I promise you we can talk again another day!"

The fillies and colts looked sad as Cadence ran towards Spike and his friends. Cadence was getting ready to greet Twilight like she always does but noticed that Twilight was not there. Cadence asked, "Hi everypony. Where is Princess Twilight?"

Shining Armor arrived right as Cadence asked where Twilight was. He suddenly became very worried. He asked, "Spike, where is Twilight? I am very worried about her because normally she would be here with you but she is not here."

Spike replied, "Well Twilight is missing."

Shining Armor shouted, "WHAT! Come on guys, let's go up into the crystal tower. You need to tell us everything you know."

Very shortly they were in the throne room and a panicky Shining Armor was biting his hooves, too scared to say anything. Cadence had more composure and asked, "Ok, tell us everything. I want to know what happened before she went missing and what you think may have caused her to go missing."

Spike started, "Ok, she started acting strangely immediately after we got back to Ponyville from the coronation. She was going to give a speech to the whole town at Sugarcube Corner."

Applejack continued, "But she was really nervous and faked a coughing fit. She then teleported herself over into the library and locked Spike out."

Cadence interrupted, "WHAT? SHE LOCKED SPIKE OUT?"

Applejack continued, "Yeah she did and she pretty much shut herself in the library for a couple of days. By the way she was acting everypony is pretty sure that her and Celestia did spend some time together in the library. Almost like they were hiding something."

Celestia looked shocked, "She asked, really? Twilight and Celestia shut themselves in the library for a couple of days?"

Fluttershy replied, "Yeah that is what we think. Two days later Twilight finally came out of the library."

Spike continued, "Yeah and she seemed like she was in a daze. I hugged her when I saw her and she screamed and yelled at me. She said that Celestia is the only one who is allowed to touch her."

Shining Armor shouted, "What? My sister said that?"

Rarity continued, "Yeah, she said that. We went over to Sugarcube Corner and she even bit Pinkie Pie's head off when she asked her if she wanted something to eat."

Applejack added, "Yep. While she was shut in Flash Sentry was looking for her because Celestia had gone missing. At Sugarcube Corner I asked Twilight if Flash Ever got ahold of her because he was looking for Celestia and she went ballistic."

Rainbow continued, "Yeah she started yelling something like Flash was trying to take 'her Celly' away from her. Now what on earth she means by 'my Celly' is beyond me."

Cadence asked, "What is up with Celestia? Did she ever go back to Canterlot?"

Spike replied, "Nope. She has been gone for four days and has not done her royal duties."

Cadence asked, "Is this on official business or not?"

Rarity replied, "Well from what we understand one of Luna's guards was doing a patrol and saw Celestia leave the castle in the middle of the night headed towards Ponyville shouting something about going to Las Pegasus with Twilight and marrying her."

Applejack added, "Yeah and then Luna saw them the very next night headed in the direction of Las Pegasus."

Cadence had a shocked look on her face. She said, "Come on everypony, we need to get to Canterlot immediately. I am sure Luna has a lot more information on this."

A day and a half after he left Gray Wings finally arrived in Faustica on Alicorn Island. He flies to the castle and almost passes out at the entrance. The guards saw him and they pointed their spears at him. He pleaded, "Please don't kill me. I am one of Princess Luna's royal guards. I really need to see Queen Galaxia and King Cosmos."

The guard replied, "Oh you'll see them alright. They will be the last thing you see!"

The guards dragged Gray Wings into the throne room where one of them said, "Your Majesties, this bat pony claims to be a royal guard of Princess Luna and said that he needs to talk to you two. Shall I kill him now?"

King Cosmos walked up to him and smiled. He asked, "Gray Wings, how on earth did you manage to fly all the way from Canterlot to Faustica?"

The guards looked up and asked, "Wait a minute your Majesty, you know him?"

Cosmos replied, "Yes I do and if either one of you two ever mistreat a friend of mine again you will be the ones who get killed."

Gray Wings said, "Your Majesty, I have come from Canterlot on orders from Princess Luna. She didn't fill me in on much of anything except that she needs to speak to you two about an ancient law and Princess Celestia."

Galaxia jumped out of her throne and said, "Cosmos, Gray Wings, we have to get going at once! This is extremely important!"

Cosmos replied, "We can't go right away. Gray Wings is exhausted and I don't know how much more he could fly. I do know he doesn't have enough strength to make it very far."

Galaxia shouted, "Carry him on your back if you have to or levitate him. We have no time to waste. Ugh I wish we were like that Rainbow Dash pegasus I have heard about and could break the sound barrier."

Cosmos replied, "I know this is important but poor Gray Wings here needs to rest. Gray Wings, I can handle it but would you be willing to allow me to levitate you to the coast where we can get some food and water and then fly the rest of the way to Canterlot?"

Gray Wings replied, "Sure thing your Majesty!"

Galaxia shouted, "Well then let's go! I want to know what has happened with Celestia."

The flight seemed to take forever for Cosmos given that he was levitating Gray Wings, and it is no easy task to levitate a pony that far, especially if they are wearing body armor. It was an hour or so after they arrived at the coast. Cosmos asked, "Galaxia, I am dead tired. Do you think we could rest here until the morning?"

Galaxia rolled her eyes and replied, "Sure but we need to get to Canterlot at once, the sooner the better. Look, there are apples growing here. I am so hungry, let's eat!"

Cosmos asked, "Gray Wings, do you know if there is any fresh water around here?"

Gray Wings replied, "Yeah, about a quarter of a mile inland. There are abundant fresh water lakes and the water is so delicious!"

The three ate and drank water for what seemed to be forever before falling asleep. The night passed all too quickly for them, especially Cosmos since he had to levitate Gray Wings the day before. Galaxia shouted, "Wake up!"

This caused both Cosmos and Gray Wings to shoot skywards before having their wings shut in on them and they fell to the ground. Cosmos asked, "Galaxia, why did you have to scream like that? It scared us!"

Galaxia ranted, "Look, Luna needs us there as soon as possible. Let's get some food in our stomachs and water in our system and then let's go!"

After about twenty minutes of eating they were getting ready to leave when Galaxia asked Gray Wings if he could fly without being levitated. Gray Wings told her that he would be able to fly on their own. A powerful westerly wind was blowing which would push them along.

Cosmos said, "Galaxia, this westerly wind will help us get there quicker. Let's just hope it will blow all the way to Canterlot." The three finally took off around an hour after sunrise. They had plenty of food and water in their systems and were flying at a rate faster than normal.

Noon arrived in Canterlot and everypony was getting ready to sit down to lunch when Luna heard three sets of hooves running towards the dining hall. Finally Galaxia, Cosmos and Gray Wings had returned. Luna saw who it was and flew over to her parents. "Mom, Dad, Gray Wings! I'm so glad you could make it!"

Galaxia began to cry as she had not seen her daughter in well over a thousand years. She said, "Luna, I'm so happy to see you!"

Luna replied, "I'm so glad to see you too. We're just sitting down to lunch." Luna looked back towards the kitchen and shouted, "We need lunch for three more!"

Quickly there were three more plates of food at the table. Galaxia asked, "Luna, who are all these with you at the table?"

By this time Cadence and Shining Armor were already there. Luna said, "Ok, I will go clockwise around the table. Sitting next to me is Colgate, who is one of the ponies I have major plans for. Next to her is Lyra, the other pony I have major plans for. Next to her is Princess Cadence, who is the niece of both myself and Celestia. Next to her is Prince Shining Armor, who is her husband. Next to her we have Applejack, then Pinkie Pie, then Rarity, then Fluttershy, then Rainbow Dash, then Spike, who used to be Twilight Sparkle's assistant and then we have Flash Sentry, who is the head of the Solar Royal Guard."

Cosmos asked, "Regarding Spike being somepony's assistant, who is Twilight Sparkle?"

Luna replied, "We will get to her and this whole situation later on, in our meeting after lunch. For now let's sit down, relax and eat! Discussing such matters during meals displeases me."

Galaxia, Cosmos and Gray Wings sat down to lunch with everypony else. Galaxia was able to eat her lunch despite being very concerned about the situation involving Celestia. Everypony else was able to down their meals as they were much more care free.

An Important Meeting

Afternoon arrived in Canterlot and everypony had finished lunch and headed to the throne room. As soon as everypony was at attention Luna started, "Ok everypony, I'm sure all of you are wondering why a meeting that is this mandatory has been called."

Queen Galaxia raised her hoof and said, "Well I know it involves Celestia. Please Luna, let's go into detail."

Luna looked over at Spike and his friends, "Well, you six are the ones who first noticed this, so the floor is all yours."

Spike started, "Well, it wasn't too long after we got back to Ponyville from Canterlot that things started going weird. Twilight was supposed to give a speech at Sugarcube Corner for the whole town but during the middle of it she faked a coughing fit."

Galaxia interrupted, "Who cares about Twilight Sparkle, I am concerned about MY DAUGHTER!"

Luna replied, "Mom, this whole story involving Twilight leads up to things that have happened with Celestia. Spike, please continue."

Spike continued, "Ok, after that she teleports herself into the library and locks me out, which is very unlike her. Then a couple days later she finally comes out. I run up to her and hug her and she yells at me and says something about Celestia being the only pony allowed to touch her."

Galaxia interrupted, "What? Now why would this Twilight Sparkle character say that and who is she anyway?"

Luna replied, "Well Twilight Sparkle is a pony who has been a student of Celestia's ever since she was a very young filly. Twilight was basically a model student. She and Celestia were nearly inseparable until Celestia made her go to Ponyville to prepare for the summer sun celebration the year that I escaped from the moon and was returned to being Princess Luna."

Galaxia asked, "So what happened after that?"

Luna replied, "Well you see those ponies over there? They became her best friends. Twilight stayed down there studying friendship, as Celestia put it, up until her coronation. Then as soon as Twilight was transformed into an Alicorn and became a princess it seems like her and Celestia went back to being rather clingy."

Galaxia asked, "I wonder why that happened?"

Luna replied, "I don't know. Ok, now on to what happened. Rainbow Dash, you saw what was going on next, the floor is yours."

Rainbow said, "Well, she was gone again for a bit, or so we thought. Fluttershy and I saw that one of her top floor curtains were open. So we flew up there and we saw her and Celestia kissing and talking about running off to Las Pegasus and getting married."

Galaxia shouted, "WHAT? Oh when I get my hooves on that little homewrecker Twilight she will wish she had never been born!"

Flash said, "Well the thing is Celestia confided in me. She told me that she had a crush on Twilight ever since she developed into a full grown mare, which happened when Twilight was still a student of Celestia's."

Galaxia shook her head and sighed, "In other words, Twilight wasn't exactly a homewrecker? Celestia had the same feelings too? Do you know when they revealed their feelings for one another?"

Rarity replied, "Well I think it was after that first time that we couldn't find Twilight for a couple of times. We now are pretty sure that Celestia was visiting her and they shut themselves in when they expressed their feelings for one another."

Cosmos asked, "Luna, what is causing you to be so sure that Celestia ran off with this Twilight Sparkle character to Las Pegasus?"

Luna replied, "Well the very night after Yellow Eyes reported to me that Celestia crawled out of her window in the middle of the night shouting about how she was going to marry Princess Twily I saw Celestia and Twilight flying in the direction of Las Pegasus."

Galaxia asked, "Wait, they took off in the middle of the night?"

Luna ranted, "Yes, they did. Celestia and Twilight knew that I along with both royal guards were watching her closely because we were worried about her. She had become very secretive and very defensive about her relationship with Twilight by that point. Now why would you leave in the middle of the night if you weren't trying to hide something?"

Cosmos replied, "You know Galaxia, Luna does make an extremely good point."

Galaxia asked, "Luna, how long has Celestia been gone and abandoned her royal duties?"

Luna replied, "Well it has been eight days so far. I am hoping that she will return home soon. I think that Princess Twilight Sparkle is a very bad influence on her."

Galaxia asked, "Yes, I think she is. However, you know if she is not back by the morning of the day after the fourteenth day she will be legally classified as having abdicated when you raise the sun the following morning, don't you?"

Luna replied, "Yes, I have read the law you wrote. That is why Colgate and Lyra are here."

Galaxia said, "Well I think that we should stop for a while. The more I think about what Celestia has done the more I feel like she has spit in the rest of our family's face and I just want to strangle Twilight."

Luna agreed. She replied, "Yeah I think we should. It is getting close to being time for supper and then it will be time to lower the sun and raise the moon."

After this meeting Galaxia and Cosmos were pretty sure that their youngest daughter would become the queen of Equestria and that if they ever saw their eldest daughter again, that she would have to be banished. Deep down Galaxia wanted to kill Twilight but knew she had to hold her temper, until she finally met Twilight.

A Special Sunrise

Six days had passed and it was the fourteenth day since Celestia had left and stopped doing her duties. Luna was sitting in the throne room when Galaxia came in to talk to her. Galaxia had a smile on her face and asked, "So Luna, are you going to be ready to become the same size as your dad and myself?"

Luna smiled and replied, "Yep, you bet I am."

Galaxia asked, "So regarding Colgate and Lyra, which one will be up here to handle most of the daytime issues such as the court for squabbles between commoners and which one will be handling issues in Ponyville?"

Luna flew down from the throne and led her mom out to the balcony. Her mom, like her, has superior eyesight and can make out individual buildings from many miles away. Luna pointed her hoof off towards Ponyville and asked, "Mom, you see that blue building there with the green roof?"

Galaxia replied, "Yes, I do."

Luna continued, "Well Colgate is a dentist. That is her office and she said that she will not do this for me unless I allow her to remain being a dentist down there, so it will be Lyra who moves up here."

Galaxia asked, "I noticed that Colgate has an hour glass cutie mark. Besides being a dentist, is she a Time Lady as well?"

Luna replied, "Yes, she is. If you would like to do so, you could get to know Colgate and Lyra better so you will be well acquainted with those who will become the new princesses."

Galaxia replied, "I would love that, let's go!"

While they headed to the throne room Twilight's former friends were setting things up for a spectacular coronation the following morning. Luna did not know it but Galaxia and Cosmos had told them to organize the party for the following morning and they put Pinkie in charge of it.

They were out setting up and Applejack saw that there were a lot of fireworks. She asked, "Pinkie, what are all these fireworks for? I thought that she wouldn't officially be crowned until tomorrow morning after she raises the sun."

Pinkie replied, "Well they will sort of be able to be seen and besides, what kind of coronation of this scale would be complete without fireworks?"

Applejack sighed and agreed with Pinkie that the coronation would fall flat without them. Very soon it was getting close to time for supper and Spike and his friends had finished setting everything up and notifying everypony in town of the coronation. While they were shocked, they knew that they needed a monarch who would take her job seriously.

An hour before Luna was scheduled to lower the sun and raise the moon everypony gathered for supper. Galaxia looked at Pinkie and asked, "So did everything I ask you to do get done?"

Pinkie replied, "Yep we did your Majesty!"

Luna asked, "What was all that about? What did you ask them to do?"

Galaxia replied, "Oh it's nothing big."

Luna couldn't help but wonder what was going on. Given that it was something her mom had them do she knew it was nothing bad but she was really more curious than anything else.

An hour later Luna lowered the sun and raised the moon. Cosmos smiled at his daughter and asked, "Are you ready for tomorrow morning?"

Luna replied, "Well yeah, I am. Why wouldn't I be?"

Galaxia joined his side and said, "Oh we're just curious!"

Soon it was time for Luna and Gray Wings to do their patrol of the Everfree Forest. Luna wanted to get down to the bottom of why her parents are asking so strangely. She asked, "Gray Wings, do you know what is up with my parents and why they are acting like they are hiding something?"

Gray Wings had no clue as to what was going on. He replied, "Your Majesty, I honestly have no clue what is going on. If something strange is going on, they have kept me in the dark about it as well."

Luna asked, "Do you think it might just be because if Celestia is not present to raise the sun and I do it this morning that I will become queen?"

Gray Wings replied, "Probably. We better get back to the castle. It is getting close to time for you to lower the moon and raise the sun."

After an uneventful patrol of the Everfree Forest Luna and Gray Wings returned to the castle and headed to the castle courtyard. Everything seemed calm, a little too calm for Luna's liking. She asked, "Gray Wings, does it seem like we are being watched."

Gray Wings replied, "Yeah it does, but I'm not overly worried. If something bad was going to happen, it already would have."

In the bushes Luna's parents, Colgate, Lyra, Cadence, Shining Armor and Spike and his friends were waiting to set off the fireworks. The rest of the town had gathered in the lower courtyard where it was pitch black. Luna knew it was time. She looked at Gray Wings and said, "Well here we go."

Luna looked off to the west and began to lower the moon. It was suddenly darker than dark. She then faced the east and began to raise the sun. As soon as she got the sun all the way above the horizon fireworks began to explode in the sky and the crowd shouted, "ALL HAIL QUEEN LUNA!"

Luna was shocked as the fireworks began to explode, the crowd shouted and cheered and party music began to play. It shocked her so much that she almost accidentally dropped the sun. Once she got the sun elevated above the horizon her parents flew to her and gave her a big bear hug.

Galaxia was crying tears of joy as she said, "My baby has become queen! I knew you could do it!"

Cosmos is not the type to cry but he cried harder than Galaxia and shouted, "Daddy's little filly is now the queen. I'm so proud of you!"

Very soon Spike and his friends along with Colgate, Lyra, Cadence and Shining Armor headed up to the upper courtyard and celebrated with Luna. Applejack said, "Queen Luna, I'm so happy!"

Luna replied, "Wow, this is a surprise! Your prin.....I mean your Queen enjoys this!"

Luna and everypony else headed down to the lower courtyard where Luna mingled with those who for so long she called commoners. When she saw the joy on their faces when she raised the sun and became queen she decided that they are commoners no more. She realized that they truly love her and don't view her as inferior to Celestia.

Luna's Coronation

Luna has just risen the sun on the fifteenth day after Celestia's unexcused absence began. She is mingling with the citizens of Canterlot and while she is eating breakfast, she is approached by Crescent Sparkle and Twilight Velvet. They ask, "Your Majesty, we don't mean to bother you during your meal but have you seen or heard anything about Twilight? We are both very worried about her."

Luna replied, "You two might want to sit down. This will take more than a minute or two to discuss."

Twilight Velvet began to tear up and Crescent's jaw dropped open. They sat down and Twilight asked, "What do you know about my daughter? Could you tell us everything you know?"

Luna replied, "Yes, I will gladly do that. From all the information I have gathered and heard from her friends, her and Celestia ran off to get married in Las Pegasus."

Twilight shouted, "She did what? How long ago was this?"

Luna replied, "Well fifteen nights ago one of my royal guardsponies saw her flying out of her bedroom window in the middle of the night shouting about how her and Twilight were going to run off to Las Pegasus and that she was going to marry her."

Crescent asked, "How do you know that Celestia took our daughter to Las Pegasus?"

Luna replied, "Well the following night I was on a patrol on the south side of Canterlot a little after midnight and I saw the two flying to the southwest."

Crescent shouted, "Your sister is taking advantage of OUR baby! Oh I wish she wasn't royalty. I would give her a piece of my mind!"

Luna smiled and replied, "Well if they ever do return, you will get your chance. As soon as I got the sun above the horizon this morning she was legally declared as having abdicated the throne. She is simply Celestia now and since she has been gone just as long, Twilight is in the same shoes as Celestia."

Twilight shouted, "What, our baby is no longer a princess? Why would you do this to her?"

Luna replied, "I am not the one who did that to her. What happened with those two having abdicated the throne is stated clearly in ancient Equestrian laws. Laws so old that my sister and I were fillies who had not even learned how to do our duties yet."

Galaxia signaled to Luna to come up to the upper courtyard. Luna and Twilight's parents saw this. Luna said, "I'm sorry but my mom needs me on the upper courtyard."

Luna and Galaxia flew up to the upper courtyard where they joined Cosmos, Colgate and Lyra. Galaxia got the crowd's attention and said, "This is a very special day for not just my daughter, but for Equestria. I present to you, for the very first time, the queen of Equestria, Queen Luna!"

The crowd began to chant, "LUNA, LUNA, LUNA!"

Galaxia continued, "There is one thing that I must do to make her coronation complete. Now that she is a queen she has to be the size of a queen." Galaxia looked at her daughter and said, "Queen Luna, I need you to step in front of me. Something must be done to make you a true queen."

Galaxia began to grow a bright white, her eyes were shining a pinkish white and her horn began to glow. She pointed her horn at Luna and replied, ""The small one wishes they were tall so that they won't have to crawl, with height their future is bright and everything will be alright, for the small one is small no more, with height their happiness shall be galore."

Galaxia fired energy at Luna and as the energy was encircling Luna she began to grow. Very soon she was the same size as her mom and dad. Once she had finished growing her dad, Cosmos, brought out new attire for her. She would now wear sterling silver shoes, a sterling silver chest plate with a midnight blue stone shaped like a crescent moon and a large sterling silver crown with the same type and shape of stone as the one in her chest plate. Luna put the new attire on and the crowd cheered when she stepped forward in her new attire.

Luna addressed the crowd, "I will admit I never imagined that this would happen. I want you to know that the way things are ran won't change any. For the past fifteen days I have taken care of the duties involving both the moon and sun and that shall continue. We will be adding one celebration to the calendar though. Every year we celebrate the summer sun celebration to celebrate the longest day of the year. Now we will also celebrate the longest night of the year with the winter moon celebration."

Before Luna could continue the crowd cheered wildly. Never before had any member of the royal family received so much in the way of adoring cheers. Luna continued, "Also, now that I am queen there will be two ponies who will be crowned as princesses. Given that I primarily handle night issues, I will transform a unicorn, which I have already chosen, to be the daytime princess up here. Also, there will be a princess which will live in Ponyville. I shall now introduce them to you."

Luna looked over towards the door and motioned for Colgate and Lyra to step forward. Luna said, "And here are your two new princesses, Princess Colgate and Princess Lyra!"

Lyra and Colgate walked up to the edge of the balcony with nervous smiles on her faces and waved to the adoring crowd.

Luna continued, "Colgate, Lyra, I need you to stand before me so I may complete your transformations."

The two stepped back to where they were in front of Luna. Luna began to glow midnight blue, her eyes began to shine a pure white and her horn began to glow as she recited, "The unicorns who have no wings are bound to the ground, they can not really get around, their smarts are great yet without flight they will be late, with these wings they will be great and they shall never have a bad fate."

Luna's energy began to encircle the two unicorns. They began to levitate and felt wings sprouting out of the sides of their backs. The crowd looked in awe as the energy dissipated and they floated to the ground with their new wings.

Luna announced to the crowd, "I present to all of you officially for the very first time, Princess Colgate and Princess Lyra."

Pinkie set off more fireworks as all the coronations were complete. The new princesses flew down into the crowd to mingle with their new subjects. One of them was a patient of Colgate's. He asked, "Princess Colgate, will you still be the dentist in Ponyville or will you be moving up here?"

The new princess smiled and replied, "I will be remaining in Ponyville and I will continue to see patients in my practice. I told Queen Luna that the only way I would agree to this is if I could stay in Ponyville and keep my practice."

Her patient was ecstatic about the news that not only would she be able to continue to see Colgate as her dentist but that her dentist is now a princess as well.

Finally the festivities are over and afternoon has arrived in Canterlot. Everypony has gathered in the throne room to discuss everything that has happened. Colgate said, "I want to thank you your Majesty for choosing me to be a princess. I promise you that I will not disappoint you."

Luna smiled and replied, "I know that neither one of you will disappoint me. I chose you two because I know you are the ones who have what it takes."

Luna yawned and continued, "Wow, i didn't know it was the middle of the afternoon already. I think I am going to go take a nap so I will be well rested for when it is time to lower the sun and raise the moon and I certainly don't want to be tired for my patrol of the Everfree Forest tonight."

The change of power was complete. Luna was no longer just a princess and two new princesses were crowned. The next couple weeks would be filled with ponies getting used to their new roles and anticipating the return of those who abdicated the throne.

The Banishments and a Return to Normal

In Canterlot Queen Luna and everypony else had just finished lunch. Luna looked up with a frustrated look on her face. She raised her voice and said, "Thirty-five days. Thirty-five stinking days. When the hay are they going to get home so we can punish them and get things back to normal."

Colgate added, "I know. I know I have to be here to take part in their punishments but I am losing money every day that I am not open."

Luna replied, "Don't worry Colgate, you will get compensated enough that you can give every customer who missed an appointment a free visit, for any kind of appointment."

Colgate replied, "Thanks your Majesty, I really appreciate it."

Luna said, "What did I tell you guys. Just call me Luna. I may seem rough and rigid, but among us I want things much less formal."

Gray Wings came bolting into the throne room. He said, "Queen Luna, they are approaching Canterlot. Celestia and Twilight are finally returning."

Luna shouted, "Get both royal guards ready. They are to be met with spears!"

Celestia and Twilight landed in the castle's upper courtyard. They were immediately met with both royal guards pointing their spears at them. Celestia and Twilight looked horrified. Celestia asked, "What is all this about? What is up with all the security?"

Twilight added, "Come on guys, it is Celestia and I. We aren't here to attack you. We live here, remember?"

Gray Wings and Flash Sentry grabbed them and put them in chains and led them into the throne room. There they were met by many ponies. Spike, all of Twilight's former friends, Princess Colgate, Princess Lyra, Princess Cadence and Prince Shining Armor were there all waiting on their sides. In front of them stood Queen Galaxia and King Cosmos. In between them was a bright, glowing light.

Celestia saw all this and asked, "Mom, dad, what is going on here?"

Galaxia glared at her and growled, "Celestia, do you not know how long you have been gone?"

Celestia replied, "Well, um, I have been gone from the castle for thirty-five days."

Cosmos asked, "Exactly, and you know what happens to princesses who neglect their royal duties for over two weeks on unofficial business don't you?"

Celestia replied, "Uh, I get a good talking to?"

Galaxia looked back at Luna and motioned for her to come forward. The light faded and a much larger, much more regally dressed Luna stepped forward. She looked at her sister and shook her head."

Celestia could sense her displeasure and asked, "Princess Luna...."

Luna shouted, "That is QUEEN LUNA to you now Celestia."

Twilight heard this and was angry. She shouted, "Luna, you can't talk to Princess Celestia like that!"

Luna picked Twilight up with her magic and shouted, "IT IS NOT WISE TO SPEAK TO ME LIKE THAT TWILIGHT SPARKLE."

Celestia shouted, "You address her as Princess Twilight little sister."

Luna picked up Celestia with her magic as well. She looked back at her mom and said, "Mom, show them the book. They both will realize that neglecting their royal duties has its price."

Galaxia levitated the book in front of her and headed towards Twilight and Celestia. Finally she got over to where Luna had the two levitated. She held the book out in front of them and shouted, "READ THIS!"

They both looked at the book and it read, "Royal rule 1.11.106a: I, Queen Galaxia, mother of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, do command, it shall be the royal duty of Celestia to raise and lower the sun and for Luna to raise and lower the moon. 1.11.106b, while there are times that a princess can not do her royal duties, such as in times of illness, times of banishment or times of being gone on official business, the other princess shall handle both duties. 1.11.106c, however, if a princess is gone on unofficial business and fails to do her royal duties for fourteen (14) consecutive days, on the morning of the fifteenth (15th) day when the other princess does the absent one's duty, she shall declare the absent one has abdicated the throne and she shall declare herself Queen. 1.11.106d, the new Queen is to transform two (2) unicorns into Alicorns and make them princesses. 1.11.106e. She is to take control of both royal guards and if the absent one returns, the royal guards are to greet her with spears and forbid her to return. On to 1.11.106f, the new queen is to banish the one who abdicated to a place of her choosing."

Celestia shouted, "WHAT? DID YOU WRITE THIS LUNA?"

Galaxia got up in her face and replied, "Celestia, read the very beginning. I wrote these laws when you were a tiny filly and Luna was a newborn."

Celestia began to cry and asked, "Why would you write such a law? Did you never think that things such as this would come up."

Galaxia replied, "Celestia, this is about responsibility. Raising and lowering a celestial body is a HUGE responsibility. You however, simply blew it off while you were off galavanting with this purple Alicorn."

Twilight shouted, "Listen Galaxia, you are to address her as Princess Celestia and address me as Princess Twilight Sparkle."

Luna walked over and slapped Twilight for that statement. She shouted, "YOU, TWILIGHT SPARKLE, DO NOT DISRESPECT MY MOTHER LIKE THAT!"

Celestia asked, "Mom, Dad, Little Sister, why are you not addressing us by our titles?"

This was a facehoof moment for the royal family. Galaxia raised her voice and said, "You see 1.11.106c? You were gone for far longer than 14 days and therefore you legally abdicated the throne, and thus Luna has been crowned Queen."

Luna added, "Well it looks like something very good came out of your tryst with Twilight after all! I became Queen and Colgate and Lyra became princesses."

Colgate shouted, "Thank you Celestia and Twilight!"

Lyra added, "Yeah, thank you so much!"

Cosmos walked forward and asked, "Celestia, I want you to explain yourself. Why did you do this and what is so grand about this Twilight Sparkle?"

Celestia cried, "Mom, dad, I love her. I have loved her ever since she became a full grown mare and she has loved me since then too! Am I not allowed to be in love? Am I not allowed to be happy? Do I have to be cold and rigid like my sister?"

Cosmos replied, "Yes you are allowed to be happy." Cosmos paused for a minute and asked, "However, from what I understand shortly before you abandoned your duties you stayed up all night staring at a picture of this Twilight Sparkle and you were too tired to raise the sun the next morning so Queen Luna had to do it for you! Was this the case?"

Celestia sobbed harder, "Yes dad, it is. I know it might not have been the best thing but everyone is treating this like it is the worst thing in the world."

Luna smacked Celestia's horn and said, "It was a very bad thing Celestia. It is not a matter of you being in love with Twilight or even staying up all night staring at a picture of her. What makes this a big issue was the fact that I had to raise the sun FOR YOU. You started letting your love and what seemed to be an obsession with Twilight interfere with YOUR royal duties."

Galaxia asked, "Celestia, why didn't you just bring Twilight up here with you and marry her here. I know Flash Sentry is qualified to marry ponies. He could have done that for you."

Celestia screamed, "Because LUNA was being so mean to me about my love for Twilight. I thought that she would do anything and everything she could to make our lives miserable and I know she would not have allowed it."

Luna got in Celestia's face and replied, "Celestia, the fact that you loved Twilight had NOTHING to do with it. I told you this already, I was upset that you were neglecting your duties and left EVERYTHING up to me. Well that won't be a problem now since Lyra will be able to handle the daytime issues while I continue to handle raising and lowering both moon and sun and do my nightly patrols."

Luna looked over at Gray Wings and continued, "Gray Wings, go get Crescent Sparkle and Twilight Velvet. I believe they need to be here while Twilight is telling us why she abandoned her royal duties."

Twilight snapped, "But I didn't even have any royal duties yet!"

While Gray Wings headed to bring the Sparkle family to the throne room Galaxia fired a bolt of energy at Twilight to shut her up. She said, "Twilight, it isn't your turn yet so keep your trap shut you little home-wrecker."

Ten suspenseful minutes passed before Gray Wings returned with the Sparkle family. Luna looked over their way and said, "Gray Wings, bring them up here so we may better address them."

Queen Galaxia glared at them and said, "So you are the ones who raised the pony who wound up seducing our daughter huh?"

Twilight Velvet had a tear in her eye and replied, "Your Majesty, you don't understand. As soon as Twilight passed her entrance exam to the school, she came here to live at the palace. She was so young at the time she didn't even know what romantic love was, much less how to seduce a pony."

Galaxia glared at Celestia and asked, "Is this true my daughter?"

Celestia started to cry again and replied, "Yes mom, it is true. The Sparkle family had nothing to do with raising her to become what she did."

Twilight Velvet walked over to her daughter and glared at her. She got in her face and asked, "Twily...."

Twilight shouted, "Don't call me Twily! Only my wife can call me Twily!"

Twilight Velvet shouted, "WHAT? Your wife?"

Twilight growled, "Yes mom, my wife. We ran off to Las Pegasus and got married because Luna thought that Celestia was neglecting her royal duties because of me and neither one of us wanted that stress."

Twilight Velvet asked, "So Twilight, what did you do? Once you became a full grown mare and your feelings for Celestia went to almost seeing her as a second mom to seeing her as a lover did you start strutting around for her? Did you start shaking your flank to turn Celestia on? Did you give her bedroom eyes every second you were around her?"

Twilight replied, "Well uh...I did a good job of hiding my sexual attraction to her until she made me an Alicorn princess."

Twilight Velvet walked over to Celestia and asked, "So Celestia, did you do anything to make our daughter so attracted to you? Were you walking around shaking your flank, giving her bedroom eyes?"

Celestia replied, "Yes, I did. Once she fully matured it as all I could do to not take her into my room and have her sleep under my wing every night. I even had so much trouble not kissing her during our lessons."

Twilight looked up and asked, "Really Celly? I wish you would have! I was so attracted to you even back then. I always dreamed of you dominating me the way you did once we got together."

Crescent looked up at Celestia and asked, "How could you Celestia? How could you do everything in your power to seduce our daughter. She had just barely matured and you knew she was vulnerable. You made her sexually attracted to you. I hope you weren't attracted to her when she was still a filly."

Celestia replied, "No, I was not attracted to her as a filly. I viewed her as like a daughter back then."

Luna stepped in and asked, "Big sister, how does one go from having feelings towards a pony that are motherlike at one time to suddenly wanting their body later? That is just sick."

Galaxia noticed it was getting later in the day and knew that Luna would need to banish Celestia soon. She stepped in and said, "Ok, I think we have enough information on everything to move on to the punishments."

Luna replied, "I agree mom. First, do any of you wish to say anything to these two before they are punished?"

Applejack looked at Luna and replied, "Well I don't think Twilight is worth talking to, not after the way she treated us. The rest of y'all might think so but I'm not giving her the satisfaction of being talked to."

Everpony else turned their backs on Twilight and Celestia and shouted, "HERE, HERE!"

Luna paused for a minute and said, "Alright, let's get this done. I'm punishing Twilight first and then I will take care of Celestia. Anything you want to say Twilight?"

Twilight just glared at Luna and growled, "No Queen Luna, I have no words."

Luna replied, "Ok, The time has come." Luna began to glow midnight blue, her eyes were shining a bright white and she pointed her horn at Twilight and recited, "You have committed treason and that is not in season, you are a threat to me and I simply can not let that be, I can no longer be annoyed so you shall be cast into the void."

A black vortex opened up and swallowed Twilight. Celestia was crying, "No, my Twily! My sweet beloved Twily!"

Luna just rolled her eyes and said, "Come on everypony, we need to get onto the back balcony. Hurry, hurry!"

Everypony rushed onto the back balcony while the sun was still above the horizon. Luna asked, "Anything you have to say big sister?"

Celestia shouted, "I hate you for taking my Twily away from me."

Luna rolled her eyes. She began to glow a midnight blue, her eyes began to shine a bright white and she pointed her horn at Celestia as she recited, "The solar queen has been mean, the crimes she has committed must be paid for, which like those before her will lead her into lore, the time has come for her to go to the sun, which definitely will not be fun."

A powerful bolt of white energy struck Celestia and carried her into the solar disk. A silhouette of Celestia appeared. Everypony sighed in amazement of the new beauty of the evening sun. Applejack asked, "Your Majesty, that is absolutely beautiful! Will all the sunrises and sunsets be this beautiful?"

Luna replied, "Yes dear Applejack, they definitely will be."

Rarity asked, "How long will they be like this? Will it be for a thousand years?"

Luna replied, "Well I have a feeling it will be longer than that. When I finished my banishment the stars aided in my escape. With Celestia only a rare eclipse right before sunset will free her, and that is not expected to happen for 3,877 years 9 months and 16 days."

Galaxia said, "That is a long time but she brought it upon herself. I am so proud of you for doing this Luna."

Cadence interrupted, "Uh, your Majesties, what will happen with Celestia and Twilight when they finish their banishments?"

Luna laughed, "Oh Cadence, only one of them will finish her sentence. When Celestia finally does finish her banishment she will return to our world but she will not be a princess nor will she ever have a chance at becoming one."

Cadence asked, "What about Twilight? What will become of her after her banishment?"

Luna glared at Cadence and replied, "Cadence, weren't you listening to me? I just said that only one of them will finish their sentence. When a pony is banished to the void, it is an eternal sentence unless the pony who banished them decides to release them and I have no plans on ever freeing her."

Cadence asked, "Why would you have to be the one to free her. Couldn't I learn the spell to unbanish her and free her?"

Luna shook her head and replied, "No Celestia. Since I banished her I am the only pony who can unbanish her and like I just said, I have no plans on freeing her from her banishment. Now if you will excuse me I have a sun to lower and a moon to rise."

While Luna headed off to lower the sun and raise the moon everypony looked at one another wondering what was next. Colgate said, "Well I don't know about the rest of you but I am hoping that I can get back home and start seeing patients again."

Applejack added, "I hear you there. I'm sure Big Mac is having a hard time doing all that apple bucking on his own."

Galaxia replied, "Well once Luna returns we will discuss things. She will probably want us all to have one final supper together and then will let you guys get on your ways."

Luna returned to the throne room and said, "Alright everypony, I do want us to have one final supper together and after that, you guys shall go and return to your normal lives."

Lyra asked, "What about me Queen Luna? Since I am going to be living here now, what will I do?"

Luna replied, "I want you to get plenty of rest tonight. Yes I will rest some tomorrow but also I will teach you some of what being a princess entails. Some things you will have to learn on your own because I will admit, I don't know everything about what the monarch on the day shift does."

Lyra was happy that Luna had confidence in her. Very soon their supper was gone and everypony was getting ready to head home. Colgate flew back to Ponyville, Spike and his friends took the train back to Ponyville, Cadence and Shining Armor took the train to the Crystal Empire and Luna showed Lyra to her new bedroom.

Lyra said, "Wow your Majesty, this bedroom is spectacular!" Lyra sat down on the bed and looked down and saw something. She levitated it up and saw that it was Celestia's picture of Twilight. Lyra asked, "Your Majesty, why is there a picture of Twilight in here?"

Luna replied, "This used to be Celestia's room and she was beyond obsessed with Twilight."

Lyra asked, "What do you want me to do with it?"

Luna levitated it out of Lyra's hooves and replied, "I will handle it. You get some rest princess. Very soon I have a patrol to start in the Everfree Forest."

Lyra said, "I will and thank you so much for having the confidence in me to make me a princess!"

Luna nodded and headed out to the throne room where she was met by Gray Wings. Gray Wings asked, "Queen Luna, isn't that the picture of Twilight Sparkle Celestia held so dear?"

Luna replied, "Yes, it is."

Gray Wings asked, "Well what do you plan on doing with it? Are you going to burn it, lock it away in the archives or what?"

Luna replied, "You'll see soon enough, let's go."

Luna took the picture of Twilight with her on their patrol of the forest. Luna knew exactly what she wanted done with it. Finally they got to one of the darkest regions of the forest when Luna saw something off in the distance. She saw the parasprites that were the product of Twilight's modification. The parasprites saw them and sped their direction, hoping to eat some armor or a crown, but that is not the meal they would get.

Luna levitated the picture of Twilight in front of the parasprites and said, "Hey parasprites, eat this! It is very tasty!"

Luna tossed the picture on the ground and while the parasprites began to gorge themselves on the picture of their creator Luna and Gray Wings took off with great haste back towards Canterlot. When they finally got back Luna laughed, "Those parasprites were hungry tonight and it is only fitting that they ate a picture of the one who modified them."

Gray Wings asked, "With Twilight being banished will those parasprites eventually return to eating food instead of non-food items?"

Luna replied, "You know, I honestly do not know. I don't think there has ever been a situation like this happen before. Oh well, let's relax a bit. I have to begin teaching Lyra her new duties tomorrow."

Very quickly things in Canterlot regained a sense of normalcy as Luna began to teach Lyra what she needs to know to handle the daytime duties she would have to handle. In Ponyville things seemed odd for a while among Twilight's former friends as they no longer had that strong leader. Eventually they became great friends with Colgate and she became their rock and after a few months, she even adopted Spike to be her assistant. Before too long, it was kind of like old days for Spike. He was coughing up messages from Queen Luna and sending Colgate's replies back to the queen.

The End

The Ponyville Princess

Twilight's coronation was complete and it was time for her and her friends to head home. Before they left for the train station Twilight ran back up to Celestia and asked, "Your Majesty, what do I do if I am unsure as to what I am supposed to do in my new role? If I become really flustered can I come up and ask you for guidance?"

Celestia smiled and laughed, "Twilight, we are equals now! You don't have to refer to me as your Majesty anymore and yes anytime you feel the need to come see me and ask me for advice, you can come up here. I have confidence in you Twilight. I know you will do just fine."

Applejack shouted, "Twilight, not all of us can fly. The train leaves in five minutes, we need to get going."

Twilight smiled at Celestia before they headed to the train station. While they were waiting for the train Twilight looked a bit down. Rarity noticed this and asked, "What is wrong Twilight? I would think that you would be ecstatic having just been crowned princess."

Twilight replied, "I know I should be Rarity. I am just nervous as to how things are going to be now that I'm not Celestia's student anymore. I have been her student ever since I was a filly. I guess I am so used to being her student that I don't know how to act now that I'm not."

Rainbow Dash said, "You'll be alright Twilight. You have a lot of information right there in the library so I am guessing if you aren't sure what to do in a situation you can always do some research. Besides, we need to schedule a time to go flying! You need to work those wing muscles."

Twilight smiled and said, "I know Rainbow. I know you will help me with my flying but still, I feel like so much is expected of me and I don't want to disappoint the princess."

Spike interrupted, "Come on Twilight, you're not going to disappoint Celestia! Besides, she said you could go up there and ask her for guidance if you are unsure about what to do. Besides, if you are feeling really stressed you not only have me but you also have five awesome friends to talk to as well!"

Twilight started acting a bit more like herself and said, "You're right Spike. I have a huge support system in Ponyville and I know that if I need advice on how to interact with other dignitaries I can ask Mayor Mare what to do since she deals with other mayors all the time."

Very soon the train pulled into the station in Ponyville and Pinkie asked, "Princess Twilight, would you like to come to Sugarcube Corner? Mr. and Mrs. Cake know about you coming back and have a huge party planned for all of us!"

Twilight really didn't want to but she didn't want to disappoint anypony. She replied, "Sure, we can do that."

Pinkie said, "Well it isn't just going to be us, but everypony in town will be there!"

Twilight's jaw dropped open. She asked, "Everypony? As in everypony in town?"

Pinke replied excitedly, "Yep! Everypony in town! After all, you are our new princess and you are going to be expected to give a speech with everypony watching your every move!" Pinkie had a huge smile on her face as she asked, "Isn't that going to be so exciting?"

Twilight was looking really nervous and had broke into a cold sweat. She asked, "Do I have to give a speech?"

Fluttershy replied, "Well since you are a princess now everypony will be disappointed if you don't."

Rainbow added, "Besides, you have given speeches in front of everypony before. Remember when we were going to give that trophy to Applejack? You were more than ready to give a speech before you kept getting interrupted."

Twilight replied, "I know but that was to honor Applejack and I wasn't a sudden celebrity either. Everypony was going to be focused on Applejack, not me. This is going to be much different. I don't like the idea of being the center of attention."

Applejack patted Twilight on the back and said, "You'll be fine Twilight. Just pretend that this is an ordinary speech."

Twilight glared at her and replied, "That's easy for you to say. You're not suddenly a princess that everypony looks up to and expects to be perfect."

Finally they arrived at Sugarcube Corner and quite a crowd had already arrived. Mrs. Cake saw Twilight and ran up to her. She hugged her and said, "Welcome home your Majesty. I have so many wonderful treats ready for you! I hope you will like them!"

Twilight smiled and replied, "Mrs. Cake, you don't have to call me your Majesty. Just call me Twilight like you always have. It will make me feel more comfortable."

Twilight and her friends went inside to have some cake before her speech. Mr. Cake saw Twilight, bowed and said, "Here's Equestria's newest princess. I hope you are doing well your Majesty."

Twilight smiled and replied, "Mr. Cake, you don't have to bow when you see me and I would rather you just call me Twilight. I just don't feel comfortable when ponies address me by my new title. It just doesn't feel right."

Mrs. Cake brought out the cake they made for Twilight and her friends. Twilight used her magic to cut the cake and they enjoyed their dessert before her speech. Twilight's mane and tail began to get a bit messy the closer it came for her to go out and address the crowd. Rarity said, "Twilight, your mane and tail are a mess! You can't go out looking like that. Here, let me get a brush so I can make you look fabulous!"

Twilight had a very nervous look on her face while Rarity was fixing her mane and tail. Finally Twilight's mane and tail were back to normal. Fluttershy said, "Come on everypony, we need to go out and make sure we are in front so we can see Twilight the best."

Twilight's friends headed outside while Spike and Twilight waited until everypony was ready. Twilight asked, "Spike, what am I going to do if I get flustered and can't think of anything to say and everypony starts laughing at me and they chase me out of Ponyville?"

Spike replied, "Twilight they're not going to laugh at you or chase you out of Ponyville! Just remain calm and focused."

Five minutes later Twilight walked out and was greeted by an adoring crowd. She had a nervous smile on her face and said, "Uh, hi everypony. I hope you are all doing ok."

The crowd cheered loudly and said in unison, "WE LOVE YOU PRINCESS TWILIGHT!"

Twilight smiled and said, "I love all of you too! You guys don't have to call me princess or your Majesty or anything else formal. Just call me Twilight like you always have. I really don't feel comfortable being addressed in a formal manner."

The crowd began to cheer wildly knowing that Twilight was the same humble pony that she was before the coronation. Mayor Mare asked, "Twilight, why aren't you wearing your crown? I thought for sure you would be wearing it so everypony can see how glorious you look in it."

Twilight had a nervous smile on her face and said, "Well uh let me go get it and put it on."

Twilight rushed inside and put her crown on. She nervously went back outside and the crowd began to cheer. Mayor Mare said, "Wow Twilight, you look amazing in that crown!"

Twilight smiled and replied, "Well I am glad you think so. I just feel so nervous wearing it out in public. I just don't want anypony to think that I think that I am better than them."

Amethyst Star shouted, "Twilight, we would never think that. We know how you are. You are one of the humblest ponies I know."

The crowd shouted, "HERE, HERE!"

Twilight continued, "Well things won't change much around here. Mayor Mare will continue to oversee all matters here in town. Yeah I do have some say in the areas around Ponyville but I will probably be asking the mayor for advice on just about everything. I do want you all to know that I think of you as like family."

Twilight started to fake a bad case of coughs. Amethyst asked, "Twilight, are you ok?"

Between coughs Twilight replied, "No, I'm sorry but I have to go."

Twilight ran off stage and then teleported herself into the library. She was feeling very ancy, so ancy that she locked Spike out of the library. She was in the library biting her hooves then she began to cry. She cried, "Oh I wish I never would have had to come back. I'm under so much stress and I just want to be with Celestia so much."

While Twilight continued to cry back at the library the crowd was very concerned. Applejack addressed the crowd, "Don't y'all worry about Twilight. She just got a case of the coughs. We will go over and check on her."

They headed over to the library and knocked on the door. Spike asked, "Twilight, are you in there? We're all worried about you!"

Twilight cried, "Go away! I don't want to talk to anypony right now. I just want to be left alone tonight!"

Spike asked, "If she wants to be alone, where am I going to sleep?"

Applejack replied, "Don't you worry Spike. You can sleep over at the farm."

Rarity shouted, "Twilight dahling, are you sure you don't want to talk even for just a little bit?"

Twilight shouted back, "No! I don't think I can do all these public speeches, all of this other stuff. I just want some time alone."

Fluttershy said, "Ok Twilight. We will leave you alone."

While Twilight's friends headed home Twilight was up in her room wrapped in her blankets crying. She was sobbing, "I don't know if I can do this, I don't think I can handle all these public appearances, I just want things to be simple like they used to be."

Twilight was quickly wishing that she could have stayed in Canterlot with Celestia. Despite having been in Ponyville away from her for three years, she felt empty. She almost felt a need to have Celestia hold her. She grabbed a picture of Celestia she had and started to stare dreamily at it, almost like she was captivated by it.

While Twilight was becoming a nervous wreck in Ponyville, Celestia wasn't faring much better up in Canterlot. She was up much later than normal and was pacing back and forth in the throne room. Luna walked in and asked, "Big sister, what are you doing up so late? You need to get some rest so you won't oversleep and not get the sun raised on time."

Celestia replied, "I'm just worried about Twilight."

Luna asked, "Why? She seemed to be ok when she left."

Celestia replied, "Luna, didn't you see how she was when she left. She was even nervous about wearing her crown out in public. I am so worried that she will shut herself in her library. What if she needs me? Maybe I should go check on her."

Luna spread her wings wide and said, "Big sister, I know how Twilight is. Yes she is nervous but she isn't going to shut herself in. She isn't the same pony that you sent off to Ponyville. I am sure she will mingle just as much as ever."

Celestia began to tear up a bit. She said, "You're probably right little sister. I guess one part of me wishes that she were up here with me."

Luna rolled her eyes and asked, "Why? She has been in Ponyville for almost three years. You have been fine clear up until now. What's with the change?"

Celestia broke down and cried, "Luna, I know things like this you don't really understand but I just feel a connection with her. Since she is a princess now I feel an even closer connection to her. I just wish she could be up here with me."

Luna headed off to do a patrol of the Everfree Forest with Gray Wings, the captain of the Lunar Royal Guard. While they did this Celestia went to her room and began to stare intently at a picture of Twilight. She felt a warmth within her and began to dream about a day when Twilight would be living up at the palace again.

Leaving Las Pegasus

In Las Pegasus almost a month had passed since Twilight and Celestia's arrival. Neither one knew of any events that had happened around the world as they had shut themselves inside the room kissing and cuddling with blissful ignorance of anything outside their hotel room. Twilight was laying on the bed when Celestia crawled on top of her and looked deeply into her eyes. Celestia asked, "Twily, I know that both of us have had the time of our lives here but when do you think we should get going home?"

Twilight got a bit of a scared look on her face when Celestia asked this. She had become so happy with her and Celestia living in bliss in the hotel room that she never wanted to leave. She asked, "Celly, do we have to go back there? I really wish that you and I could just live in here forever. I don't want us to have to put up with anypony except for room service."

Celestia began to massage the inside of Twilight's mouth with her tongue. She pressed down on Twilight and kissed her deeply. She finally lifted her head and replied, "Twily, I really wish we could do that too but we do need to return to Canterlot. Don't worry, we can shut ourselves in our bedroom as much as we want."

Twilight asked, "But Celly, what about you having to raise and lower the sun? I have grown accustomed to us being wrapped together almost non-stop everyday I don't think I could survive without us being cuddled together."

Celestia smiled at Twilight. She began to stroke her wing through Twilight's mane. She pulled her close and replied, "Twily, it is ok. I am sure Luna will have no problems handling both the sun and the moon. She is probably enjoying doing it right now."

Twilight asked, "But Celly, there Luna could come in and yell at us. She could have her royal guard come barging in on us. Here we don't have to worry about being bothered. We don't have to worry about Luna being mean to us, we don't have to hear her yelling. Please could we stay here for a couple more days?"

Twilight began to tear up and Celestia could tell it. She laid back on top of Twilight and replied, "Of course we can stay here a couple more days Twily. I don't want my beautiful, sweet wife to be sad."

Twilight began to cling to Celestia like she did when they were in the library. She cried, "I just don't want us to ever be treated bad. I know Luna will be mean to us."

Celestia lifted Twilight's head up and said, "Twily, I will have a separate tower built for us. We won't have to live in the same castle as Luna. I will tell her that it will be her job to handle all affairs and that the only royal duties that you and I will have is making each other happy."

Twilight got a huge smile on her face. She grabbed Celestia and started kissing her passionately. She pulled back and replied, "Oh thank you Celly! Now our dreams of never having to be apart can become reality! I love you Celly, I love you!"

Celestia looked into Twilight's eyes and replied, "I love you too Twily!"

It was getting late so Celestia pulled Twilight close to her and neither was able to sleep all that well. Twilight turned around to where she was facing Celestia. She asked, "Celly, I can't sleep. I know you are right about us having to go home but I'm so scared of what Luna will do to us for being gone so long. What do you think she will do to us?"

Celestia kissed Twilight gently and replied, "Twily, I am going to be honest with you. I have been trying to put up a strong front but I am terrified of what Luna will do to us. She is far more powerful than she used to be and she has this idea that both of us are supposed to be these rigid, by the book overly independent princesses."

Twilight asked, "Why does she think that?"

Celestia replied, "Well I think a lot of it has to do with her not really understanding what romantic love is and her pure hatred of the little she does know about it. She does know what maternal love is, which she shows towards her royal guard all the time but with romantic love, she knows nothing of it."

Twilight asked, "So does she not have the ability to feel warmth and happiness the way we do?"

Celestia replied, "No, she doesn't."

Twilight and Celestia continued to talk until they finally fell asleep. For the remaining two days they were in Las Pegasus, they kissed, cuddled and talked until it was time for them to go.

Finally the morning arrived that they would leave. They decided to have one more breakfast in their room before departing. Twilight asked, "Celly, are you sure we have to leave today? We can't even stay just one more day?"

Celestia replied, "Twily, I think we need to get home. Besides, then it will be all the sooner that we can get our own tower built and then we can shut ourselves in there."

Twilight smiled at Celestia as they finished their breakfast. She said, "Alright Celly, I'm ready for us to go home. I'm ready for you to carry me into our bedroom for the very first time."

Celestia gave Twilight one more passionate kiss before they left their room. On the way out of the hotel they saw Flower Mane. Flower Mane asked, "Your Majesties, did you enjoy your stay here?"

Celestia replied, "Yes Flower Mane, we really enjoyed our stay here. My Twily wanted to stay here forever but I told her we had to get home."

Flower Mane laughed, "I could understand why. We do have the best luxury rooms in all of Equestria!"

After leaving the hotel Twilight and Celestia left Las Pegasus heading north towards Canterlot. They flew close together looking forward to being able to hold each other tight. They had no idea what sort of wrath awaited them when they got home. Very soon Celestia will wish she had listened to Twilight and that they had stayed in Las Pegasus forever.
