The forgotten realms, before Equestria

Twilight, with the wind in her mane, flew towards the canterlot archives. In her many princess duties she has come to canterlot over a debate with Saddle Arabia. She decided to visit the archives in the castle today, no matter how many times she visited the archives she always found something new and interesting to read, usually something about Starswirl the bearded. Today though she decided to read a, for what she thinks, fictional story. A good adventure may be good for Twilight. It seems like her friends love these kinda books so if she could find a good  one they could all read it together.

As she approached the archives, like every other time she came, her jaw dropped at the sheer amount of books and papers that are here. She didn't know why she came to an archive for a fictional story but she has found one or too in here before. Twilight starts to skim through the books, many talking about history or something about Equestria's past, like it should be. Though she hoped to find a good book throughout it so she kept looking.

After about an hour of looking Twilight was huffing at every book that wouldn't catch her eye. She kept skimming over the "Before equestria" area, mostly they were theories or interviews with Princess Celestia or luna. Her hoof rubs up against an old book that right away catches Twilight's attention. The side of it says "FR". She grabs the book and looks at the cover, and old, leathery like, book that looks like one wrong move will break it into pieces. The cover catches Twilight's attention, it seemed like fiction from the name. "The forgotten lands of ponies, the time of blood and war., seemed a little gory from what She's used to but it's always good for a change.

"I would read that book, it is very good" A voice behind calls, making a quick "eep!" From Twilight. Upon turning around Twilight ends up in front of-

"Oh Princess Celestia, i'm sorry i didn't know you were there" Twilight says, going into a low bow.

"Please Twilight, there is no reason to bow. You are a princess as well remember" Celestia says, bringing Twilight straight up.

"I'm sorry, well anyway what of this book?"

"A very good one, maybe not the one you usually read, but rich in story. It almost feels like it happened" Celestia replies, getting a confused look from Twilight.

"Would it be one you would think that my friends would like" She asks, getting a small nod in return.

"Again, it wouldn't be what you, or in fact any of you, would read. It is however a book that i very much enjoyed reading, and i think they would too" Celestia replies. Starting to walk out of the archive.

"Wait where are you going?" Twilight asks

"I have duties to attend to now, your work here in canterlot is done. You can return to ponyville" Celestia says "and you can bring the book" that was enough for Twilight to bolt out before even Celestia did. Heading straight for ponyville.

After a good hour after coming home Twilight shows her friends the book she borrowed from the archives, Rarity and Fluttershy weren't too interested until Twilight told them Princess Celestia recommended it. She's asked them to meet her at the treehouse later to have a "reading group", all of them agreed.

"Ok so we gonna be reading this story now? Seems a little gory for your taster still twi" Applejack asks, twilight nodding in reply.

"Yeah we will be! If Celestia says it's good it must be." She replies

"Are you sure, even if Princess Celestia recommends it. Not every book will be your cup of tea Twilight" Rarity now pitches in

"Come on! It sounds like a good adventure, we should at least give it a shot!" Rainbowdash says, getting a good eyebrow from everypony. Not a lot does Rainbowdash go and support reading.

"Well like Rainbow says lets give it a shot, it may be good" Twilight finishes the debate, as everypony nods in approval and opens the book. Right away they see a few writings before the start of the book.

"Peace comes after War, War comes after Peace. A never ending loop said to end once Peace is made. Either it be inner peace or peace between races, this is what is believed. No matter how many times people say otherwise War will come, again either it be digestive issues or a battle between dragon and pony.  Never believe Peace has come, War will come soon... ~Niotyl Da'Val

Now Twilight begins to read aloud the first chapter of the Forgotten Realms: the time known before Equestria, never known after...
