Rainbow Family Reunion
Chapter 1
Load Full StoryScootaloo looked up adoringly at her sister. Her "official" sister.
The documents sat like butterflies in her suitcase next to her, and even after a whole week and four days (she'd been counting), she still couldn't believe they were real. They were real. They were so real. She was part of the Rainbow family.
The train hit a bump, and Scootaloo was shot into the air. Rainbow reached up to yank her out of the air. "Hold on there, squirt. We don't want you getting too banged up before you even get there!" Scootaloo nodded, mute.
"You know, you've been awfully quiet this whole ride. Something on your mind?" She chuckled. "Apart from the obvious, of course."
Scootaloo smiled. "Not really. Just thinking about this whole reunion thing. Like...what if they don't accept me? I mean, I'm not biologically related or anything." She kicked the floor. "I'm just nervous, I guess."
"You know foals have been adopted into the family before, right?"
Scootaloo threw her arms in the air. "Yeah, but they could fly! Plus, you're not even married! They'd probably look down on that, and they'd say stuff, and-"
Rainbow shushed her. "Come on, my family's not like that! They're not ones to say something as trivial as that. I mean, most of the mares have had foals with their sisters!"
Scootaloo's jaw dropped.
Rainbow noogied the filly. "Jus' kidding. But seriously, they're not gonna care."
Scootaloo looked away sadly. Then her face lit up and she snuggled close to Dash. "Wait! I know! Tell me about one of your reunions!"
"Scoots, that's a great idea! And I know the perfect one, too. It was back when I was a filly, about, oh, ten or eleven, a few years older than you. I was riding the train alone for the first time in my life and boy was I scared!"
