Surprise

It was a beautiful summer day in Equestria, the sun was shining, birds were chirping and everything was perfect. Pinkie Pie was prancing over to Twilight Sparkle’s home, singing merry tunes as usual. Twilight was reading, as usual, then Pinkie bursted through the door, smiling with glee and yelled, “Hey Twily!” Twilight jumped at the cheerful surprise, then smiled and said, “Hey Pinkie.” Pinkie leaped over to Twilight and gave her a kiss on the cheek. Twilight blushed lightly and returned the favor. Pinkie let out a cheerful squeak and asked, “Twily, would you like to go on a picnic today?” Twilight replied cheerfully saying, “I’d love to go on a picnic today, just let me get some things ready.” Twilight got a basket and packed a blanket, some wine and a couple of burgers. “All ready now,” Twilight said, “Do you need to get anything from home Pinkie?” “Yes indeedy,” Pinkie replied. “Okay, we’ll stop at Sugarcube Corner on the way,” Twilight said as she shut the door leaving the library that is her home. On the way to Sugarcube Corner Pinkie was excited and full of energy, she had a special surprise for her purple marefriend. When they arrived at Sugarcube Corner, Pinkie trotted toward the stairs leading to her room. Twilight began to follow when Pinkie stopped her saying, “Uh uh Twily, you can’t see what I’m grabbing, it’s a surprise.” So Twilight waited downstairs patiently, like Pinkie said. After a few minutes Pinkie returned empty hooved, Twilight out of confusion stated, “I thought you were grabbing something, where is it?” Pinkie rolled her eyes, “Silly Twi, it wouldn’t be a surprise if you knew what I grabbed, you’ll see later.”  So Twilight and Pinkie headed off for their picnic, by now it was the late afternoon and by the time they ate, it was already sunset. So they sat there, peacefully cuddling, enjoying the sunset. Then Pinkie sat up and said, “Twilight, I think its time for your surprise.” She reached into her pink fluffy mane and pulled out a tiny box, opened it and said, “Twilight Sparkle, my very special somepony, will you marry me?” Tears came to Twilight’s eyes, “Yes Pinkie, I’d love to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you, Pinkamena Diane Pie.” Pinkie replied, “I love you too, Twilight Sparkle.” Pinkie Pie and Twilight kissed, just for a moment, then hugged each other tightly, as the sun set over Ponyville.
